Facts are facts. Despite what the White House claims glowingly about all the jobs Obama has created, the USA had lost 800,000 manufacturing jobs under his watch. Good ahead, Mr. Obama, go forth and polish that turd.

Just in case some folks thought the economy wasn't bad enough, PERS decided to slit its own throat, again.
Actually - again and again,
"In a 9-3 vote, the CalPERS investment committee disregarded the advice from its own financial advisers who recommended reversing a sell-off of tobacco stock that was approved in 2000, which has cost the system more than $3 billion in lost earnings."

Heck - the Kali tax payers don't mind picking up the difference.
And they will, you know. What's left of them.
C'mon, folks - get to work. Only 2 jobs? You're letting the side down. 3 or more is the 'new normal'.
Or haven't you heard?

Scott Obermuller

"With earnings on investments the last two years barely exceeding zero, CalPERS has been compelled to sell assets to make its pension payments, which far outstrip contributions from state and local governments and their employees."
I could have sworn anyone saying these things a few years or months ago was 'attacking public employees'.
Kinda main stream now.
Gee - what does Paul's 'polls' show?

Keep dreaming, fools - reality bites pretty deep.

George, how do you compare the state of our economy now compared to 8 years ago when Obama cane in?

93 million not working, 9 million more on food stamps and millions on disability and unemployment. I'd say the only problem when Bush left was the big banks. Obama and Bush voted to save them but not Main Street.

Good posts Scott. That train wreck is coming. Catch-22. Make it self funding and municipaties across the State will go bankrupt. Do nothing and PERS will go under. Either way, the taxpayers who never worked or voted for CAL PERS are stuck cleaning up the train wreck.. When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Exhibit One: Voodoo economics.

PaulE 849am - Adding to the many analyses here and elsewhere, and given the intrinsic strength of America's economy (even in 2008), we have never before seen as much mismanagement of our economy in an eight year period as under Obama and the Dems. He did NOTHING to promote the nation's economy or fisc, and everything to stifle it. The above charts tell the tale.

Debt Climbs $1,054,647,941,626.91 in '16...

I can only assume that Paul hails from the "I can't be broke I still have checks" school of economics!

Just a one percent interest increase and Paul's check will evaporate. That is what happens with the debt Obama allowed to happen.

Record 95,102,000 Americans Not in Labor Force; Number Grew 18% Since Obama Took Office in 2009

(CNSNews.com) - Barack Obama's presidency began with a record number of Americans not in the labor force, and it's ending the same way.

The final jobs report of the Obama presidency, released Friday, shows that the number of Americans not in the labor force has increased by 14,573,000 (18.09 percent) since January 2009, when Obama took office, continuing a long-term trend that began well before Obama was sworn in.

In December, according to the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, a record 95,102,000 Americans were not in the labor force, 47,000 more than in November; and the labor force participation rate was 62.7 percent, a tenth of a point higher than in November.

The participation rate dropped to a 38-year low of 62.4 percent on Obama's watch, in September 2015. It was only 3-tenths of a point higher than that last month.

This is legacy that Obama does not want to talk about!
