It is a cycle, grow, fail to govern and collapse, repeat!

In 1177 BC after centuries of brilliance, the civilized world of the Bronze Age came to an abrupt and cataclysmic end. Kingdoms fell like dominoes over the course of just a few decades. No more Minoans or Mycenaeans. No more Trojans, Hittites, or Babylonians. The thriving economy and cultures of the late second millennium B.C., which had stretched from Greece to Egypt and Mesopotamia, suddenly ceased to exist, along with writing systems, technology, and monumental architecture.

From the late eighth through the end of the ninth century, something unknown happened to shake the Maya civilization to its foundations. One by one, the Classic cities in the southern lowlands were abandoned, and by A.D. 900, Maya civilization in that region had collapsed.

China's Dynasties suffered the same growth and collapse cycle.

These diverse civilizations all share one fatal flaw; they grew beyond the capacity of humans to manage the complexity. All were governed by elites and bureaucracies that continues to ratchet up the rules and levy taxes. Unable to govern, the ordinary people rose up, went to war, or walked away leaving the fields fallow, starving the elites, who doubled down, and the collapse accelerated. The climate played a vital role in finishing the destruction.

We are on the cusp of our collapse, and our only options are war or revolt, we have no place to escape. We are going to have 30 years of challenging climate from 2020-2050 which will reduce civilizations food supply, accelerating the inability to govern. The survivors of the collapse will start a new and grow until they are ungovernable and collapse, and then the cycle will repeat again and again until the sun envelopes the earth, and begins the final re-cycling event.

Then you have cogs in the machine working against the interests of the American citizens they are sworn to protect. Team Alynsky?

And now not only did the FBI f#ck up big time, but a sworn officer on duty at the Florida high school failed to engage the shooter and 17 people died. The evidence that government is guilty until proven innocent just continues in a torrent. And the crazies in the country want to take away the remaining legal and sane guns. Did any lamestream outlet carry this news?

Some guy on Twitter, but worth considering. re: local law enforcement in the county where this last shooting occurred.

Sheriff Israel needs to go and go now. What an utter failure of leadership!

I'm not so sure about that Don. How was Israel to know that the coward wasn't up to the task? Now if the top cop knew something different,,, that's different.

Don Bessee

Walt @ 312- Not only did the one guy fail to engage but a total of 4 don't, 2 deputies from another jurisdiction showed up and went in with 2 other Broward county deputies with the other 4 cowered. That is a failure of leadership, no wonder he was so busy pointing the finger at the NRA lady, he didn't want anyone talking about his depts. failures like the 39 visits to cruz. But hey Israel has his pictures with comrade bernnie and shrillary. ;-)

Yup,, I stand corrected. I was giving the bastard the benefit of doubt. That was before I saw all the rest that's come out.

Sneak Preview:
*Phase One for Nunes was FISA request. *Phase Two is the Obama State Department. *Phrase Three Nunes will focus on Brennan as well as President Obama’s first CIA director, Leon Panetta, along with the former president’s intelligence czar, James Clapper, and national security adviser, Susan Rice, and security adviser-turned U.N. ambassador Samantha Power, among other intelligence officials.

“Brennan later swore the dossier did not “in any way” factor into the CIA's assessment that Russia interfered in the election to help Trump. However, congressional investigators suggest a still-classified version of the January 2017 intelligence report contradicts his claim. Also in his May 2017 testimony, Brennan swore he had no idea who commissioned the dossier.

CIA veterans say Brennan was the most politicized director in the agency’s history and was responsible for much of the anti-Trump bias from the intelligence community during the campaign and transition period.

Former CIA field operations officer Gene Coyle, a 30-year agency veteran who served under Brennan, said he was "known as the greatest sycophant in the history of the CIA, and a supporter of Hillary Clinton before the election.”

"I find it hard to put any real credence in anything that the man says,” he added.

Coyle noted that Brennan broke with his predecessors who stayed out of elections. Several weeks before the vote, he said, “Brennan made it very clear that he was a supporter of candidate Clinton, hoping he would be rewarded with being kept on in her administration.” (Brennan is a liberal Democrat. In fact, at the height of the Cold War in 1976, he voted for a Communist Party candidate for president.)

As late as May, 2017, Brennan did not have a clue who commissioned the Dossier. That’s funny. Everybody else knew......

Florida shooting yet another government failure to keep us safe: Glenn Reynolds in USA Today

Florida shooting yet another government failure to keep us safe: From the FBI to local law enforcement to the schools, every institution failed. We have more government than ever, but it isn’t working. “People are being asked to trust the government to keep them safe, when the government is patently unable to do so. And then, when the government fails, it engages in blame-shifting deflection. Why should people listen? Increasingly, they won’t.”

If only 3 percent of Americans said they trusted a pilot to land a plane, would you board the flight?

There is a lot of concern in Washington about the low level of trust in government. Pew Research found last May only 18% of Americans had even a sliver of faith in the federal government, something which shouldn’t be surprising since it’s been hovering in the 20’s since 2006. Pew seemed relatively surprised at the downward trend since 75% of Americans trusted the government in the 1950’s. The low faith in those in DC caused Washington state Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers to write at National Review the federal government has to fix its trustworthiness, or face even more consequences.

...Prosecutors also conducted pre-dawn raids on some of their targets’ homes. In one horrifying instance, the target of such a raid was on an out-of-town trip with his wife, and their teenage son was home alone. Law enforcement came into the house and sequestered the boy, refusing to allow him to call a lawyer or even his grandparents, who lived down the road. They hauled items out of the house, and as they left they told the boy that he too was subject to the gag order—that if he told anyone what had happened to him, he could go to jail.

We only learned of this because one brave target of the probe, Eric O’Keefe, told The Wall Street Journal what was going on. We broke that story, and it became national headline news. But it ultimately took a lawsuit and the Wisconsin Supreme Court to shut down the probe. In its ruling, the Court made clear its view that the probe’s purpose had been intimidation. The prosecutors had been sending the message: if you dare to speak, we will turn your lives into a living hell and potentially put you in prison.

More recently we have seen this tactic in the joint action of 17 state attorneys general, who launched a probe into Exxon and some 100 different groups that have worked with Exxon over the years. The implicit prosecutorial threat: get on board with our climate change agenda or we might bring racketeering charges against you.
...........
We’ve also seen this tactic employed against private individuals. One such person was Idaho businessman Frank VanderSloot, who Barack Obama’s reelection campaign singled out in 2012, following a VanderSloot donation to Mitt Romney. The campaign publicly branded him a disreputable person, painting a target on his back. Not long after that, VanderSloot was audited by the IRS and visited by other federal agencies.”
