The weight of lies from Trump and his administration will eventually take him down. Lying to that extent is unsustainable and will have it's consequences.

George Rebane

PaulE 201pm - Why would you ever conclude that Paul? For the preceding eight years this country was lied to constantly like never before in living memory, and nothing happened, neither the lamestream nor the Deep State launched any investigations, no reports of wrongdoings, everything was hunky-dory. And those lies were consequential, not like these 'broken campaign promises' or hyped-up 'facts' from Trump that you and yours are hyper-ventilating about.

Don Bessee

Sure ya po' ol' fakenewsman, we must have sustainable, organic, vegan, gluten free lies. ;-)

No audio could be heard on the video, and there was no way to verify if the man was Mr. Trump, as the Russian claimed. But the choice of venue for showing the clip heightened American suspicions of a Russian operation: The viewing took place at the Russian Embassy in Berlin, the businessman said.

Dr. R, I'm guessing stud poker and Texas Hold 'Em are your games. They give you the opportunity to use your math skills to determine the likelihood somebody has a better hand than you do.

Since I was a liberal arts major, I lean toward blackjack. That's about all the math I can handle.

Do you really believe the Trump administration that they knew nothing in advance about the security status of Trumps right hand man Rob Porter? That's according to Sarah Huckabay in todays news conference.

Do you feel comfortable with someone such as Porter with no security clearance having access to classified material and situations?

Don Bessee

There are a lot of people in incoming administrations that hold temp clearances pending a full background check. Same with new hires who were not previously in the government. Get a clue ya po' ol' fakenewsman. ;-)

Paul Emery

This is been pending for a year Don. Kinda odd don't you think? Do you really believe that Trump didn't know this?

Don Bessee

What experience do you have with security clearances and how long the varying types take? From your guesses I would say none. ;-)

Don Bessee

The clintonista fakenews machine never stops grinding away-

;-)

Paul Emery

I don't have experience Don. How about you?

Don Bessee

Yes ya po' ol' fakenewsman. Example, you have to account for every week of your life. So when you have a new applicant you can be talking about a very significant amount of data that has to be verified before they grant the clearance. You wouldn't even start the paperwork until you get tapped for job so that timeline is not unreasonable. ;-)

George Rebane

GeorgeB 356pm - You nailed it Mr Boardman. The only variant is that there are several variants of stud (2-4-1) games which we enjoy; and also of the Hold 'em variety (3-1-1). Our evening format is tried and tested, now going in its 24th year. It's always been a men-only game that starts with a hosted (rotating host) dinner. The game is dealer's choice, but one that must end in a 5-card poker hand. And a new game may be introduced only if it takes less time to explain than to play it ;-)

PaulE 356pm - All levels of temporary/provisional security clearance may be granted with an appropriately abbreviated background check, which allows the individual to work until the comprehensive background is completed. There was nothing about Porter that would have caused a security breach while his full clearance was pending. Had there been, then his full clearance would have been denied and the WH informed from the gitgo.

I think the WH made a mistake even responding to media queries (most of them gotchas) about the Porter allegations. When evidence surfaced, he should have just been asked to resign without further comment about his personal life. Until he is charged with a crime, the WH should have respected his privacy and remained mum. The media could have dug out his sins through other channels and then publicized as they wanted to without bringing in the who-knew-what-when brouhaha with the WH and the President. No employer has the obligation to violate any of their employees' privacy.

R/E the DC investigations memo wars are at a high fever pitch.

Yep, and now we wait for the Democrat response. I suppose that the only thing both sides can agree on is no National Security secrets were revealed in the Numes memo and that the Russian Collusion narrative was just a big fat lie fed to the FBI, DOJ, and the very gullible lamestream media by the Clintonistas. Boy, no consequences for Hillary, per usual. She is in the catbird’s seat

The 9 month constant “Russia, Russia, Russia, Trump stole the election, Russian Collusion, Russia, Russia, Trump stole the election, Treadon!”” drumbeat by the unhinged bedwetting press and their little puppets did indeed divide and disrupt the country. Our press accomplished more to fracture our country than Putin’s meddling could ever dare to dream of. Oppps, strike that. Our lamestream fakenews popinjays did Putin’s bidding for him and played their roles the Muscovites scripted for them to perfection. Bravo! Award winning performance, bravo.

Wonder what the Putin cuddlers will do for an encore?

It was all a big fat lie. Guess both sides can agree on this: Our fakenews Clinton Leftist Industrial Media Complex wanted so much for it to be true. Damn, they wanted it so much to be true they could taste it in their nonstop cackling caws. That is the one thing everyone with two brain cells left can agree on.

Being liberal means you never have to say you’re sorry...or wrong.

Paul Emery

George

What is your experience with those with incomplete security clearances? Typically do they have access to classified top secret information like Porter did?

Don Bessee

The po' ol' fakenewsman is mixing up people who have a provisional clearance pending a full comprehensive, check everything permanent with someone who has no clearance. ;-)

George Rebane

PaulE 515pm - When my TS was active, the provisional for every level was different and, of course, more comprehensive the higher the clearance. I don't know what changes, if any, have been instituted since. But with the provisional you had full access to do your job - remember, what you are allowed to see/know also requires the 'need to know'; clearance alone is not enough. And once the clearance is granted and your subsequent work lets you access certain sensitive stuff, you can bet that you will be surveilled by some intelligence agency forever. I know that because as S-2 of a nuclear artillery outfit it was my job to also read such surveillance reports on the troops in our unit. (I expect that they still take a sneak peek at my doings from time to time.) Because of that, I don't exactly understand what all the brouhaha is about surveilling anyone that was once granted critical national security knowledge. Just because your job may end doesn't mean that your mind goes blank and you don't have the opportunity to blab what you once worked on and still know.

Bill Tozer

And what the hell does that have to do with any topic on Scattershots, Paul? Opps, I forgot whom I was addressing. Take it to the Sandbox where you can ask questions about Melania’s shoes again and again.

Don Bessee

Did Muller use the son as leverage to get a plea from Flynn for nothing?

Here's a good observation making the rounds...
"Now let me see if I have got all of this straight...If we get nuked, it'll be by: Missiles built with technology given to China by Bill Clinton, funded by Iran with money Obama gave them, with warheads developed from Uranium sold to Russia by Hillary, and refined by Iran into weapons-grade plutonium in Russian centrifuges bought with money Obama gave them. And Trump is trying to undo this s*** storm, but he's the Traitor. Amazing, just amazing!"

Don Bessee

LOL Bonnie! ;-)

I wish I could "thumb's up" or "Like" some of these comments on your blog Daddy. As your daughter cum blog-lurker, there are times I want to applaud a comment and am left staring at the screen with a big grin.

GeorgeR 10:24am - Yes, because I set that feature up, I'm aware that up there under your photo I can "like" the post. : ) But I'm also referring to the clever and sometimes glaringly obtuse comments of your readers. Those gems just float away into the archives. I'd love to be able to "upvote" them or at times offer them a spare IQ point to help their critical thinking. Your blog is so comprehensive and well read that it could use it's own URL and have features (and stats) like Reddit.com. Wouldn't you all like to see the most upvoted & pithy comment of all time as well as how your readers judge which author could use a little more critical thinking power? It would be fun to dose out upvotes and (in jest) IQ points where needed. (Yes, find and hire someone to do the transfer and archive, it's TIME.)

TeineE 1059am - Good points; I'll call you.

Re: Update On Schifflips

Yeah, what’s Schiff doing to do now? Hold up in front of the all the cameras 10 pages that are blacked out? It would be a first for the Dems as well as the Popinjays who comment here, i.e., reading the black on the page instead of the white. First time for everything.
