Relax Leftists, , your boy Rod just bought you another year....

The FBI and DOJ have provided more classified information to the New York Times and the Washington Post than to the committees requesting the information, numerous sources said.

A never-ending investigation at this point would allow the DOJ, which has stonewalled Congress for more than a year, to bury the documents in yet another ongoing investigation that will be out of sight of the public and then, like many things in Washington, buried in the swampy waters never to be seen again.

And this may be the reason Rosenstein agreed to act only four hours after the President’s tweet Sunday to have Horowitz take the lead on the investigation into whether the FBI and DOJ used an informant to infiltrate the Trump campaign in the 2016 election.

“I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes – and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!”

A former senior U.S. intelligence official said the FBI and DOJ use “national security” implications every time it’s asked to turn over documentation to Congress. He noted “the rules for the handling and protecting of classified material are solely in place for protecting sources and methods, not malfeasance and embarrassment. This has nothing to do with protecting sources and methods – it has everything to do with protecting themselves and broken institutions.”

This cat and mouse game has lead to burgeoning battles for more than a year behind closed doors on Capitol Hill and inside the DOJ’s marbled offices in Washington D.C.

Do they even hear themselves or are they blinded by possibly allowing illegals to vote?

I mean isn’t it funny that twice in one week Democrats chose to defend Hamas and then chose to defend MS-13, a violent gang that leaves women dead on park benches in New York. I mean twice in one week. It was very clear that the president was referring to MS-13 gang members and yet you saw Democrats double-down and say that the president was carte blanche referring to everyone as ‘animals.’ What a joke. [Emphasis added]
MS-13 has done heinous acts. They have committed acts like stabbing a man 100 times, you know Rep. Peter King knows this very well in New York. It’s something that we need to take seriously and crack down on in fact. When a violent gang in their motto is ‘Rape, control, and kill,’ I don’t think any term can be too strong to refer to them.

Yep, I listened to Levin’s radio show yesterday. Stuff that makes most people’s eyes glaze over, but not mine. He spent over two hours making his point, step by step. Indeed, it is big. I am sure he will be pounding on it today. He wishes he could prosecute the case himself before the courts, lol.

Rather than pound on it myself, I have to say I cannot get Susan Rice e-mail to herself minutes before Trump got sworn in out of my mind. That and two of Peter’s texts. The one about insurance policy and the other that Obama wants to know everything going on. They are stuck in my noggin.

This won’t convince anyone, but here is an article from someone who is definitely no fan of Trump. I surmise that many folks kinda feel this way who are not following every detail, aka, enough to raise eyebrows. Let’s find out.

You are delusional. Even his own family can't predict what he is going to do. Among his staff, Trump's impulsive nature keeps them wondering. Shooting from the hip is not intentional nor is it a "plan." He has the attention span of a flea, and like a flea simply jumps from cause to cause to idea to tweet to another burger without forethought. I can give Trump credit for a few things, but thinking in the long term isn't even in the ballpark.

1). I like Byron York, another no fan of Trump, but a fan of the truth. Ah, those mystery early months.

(The principals committee includes some of the highest-ranking officials in the government, including the secretaries of State, Treasury, Defense, and Homeland Security, the attorney general, the head of the CIA, the White House chief of staff, U.N. ambassador, and more.)

So the nation's top political appointees, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies were watching Trump campaign figures in the spring and early summer of 2016.

3) love how the FBI approached that Russian Billionaire “oligarch” about the Trump Campaign. The guy said, “What, are you crazy? We can’t stand Manifort”, lol. The agents left “giggling”. Hey, if they want to find out about oligarchs who run “The Bank of Putin”....the go to bank to get money in and out of Russia, just read the Panama Papers. It points straight to Tony Podesta, ROFLMAO. We deal here in facts, not fiction.

4) In court, Meuller’s team....more specially former Clinton Foundation lawyer Rhee (represented Hillary in 2015) was surprised when one of the Russia companies indicted for trying to interfere in the 2016 election sent a US lawyer to defend itself. First, those indicted were emloyees the “Russian firm” or ever worked for “the firm”. Rhee told the judge they have two terabits of evidence. The Russian “firm”’s US lawyer pointed out that the massive amount of intel about “the firm” was just social media posts and comments by hundreds thousands of people that Rhee characterized as “the firm.” It was hundreds of thousands of people’s comments on social media, not just the original posts, lol. When Rhee said the evidence was in Russian, the defense asked if the posts and comments have been translated to English. Rhee relied “no, they are in Russian.” The defense asked, “Then how do we know what is in them?”, ROFLMAO.

SCOTUS ruling yesterday. Was I the only one following it?

Justice Neil Gorsuch framed the case in two basic questions. Can employers insist that workplace disputes be handled through individual arbitration? Should employees always have an option of bringing claims in collective actions through the courts?

“As a matter of policy these questions are surely debatable,” Gorsuch wrote for the majority, which included Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Anthony Kennedy, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. “But as a matter of law the answer is clear. In the Federal Arbitration Act, Congress has instructed federal courts to enforce arbitration agreements according to their terms — including terms providing for individualized proceedings.”

On the other side of the 5-4 ruling were leftist Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It was Ginsburg who wrote the particularly shrill dissent, and she insisted on reading it from the bench.

“The court today holds enforceable these arm-twisted, take-it-or-leave-it contracts — including the provisions requiring employees to litigate wage and hours claims only one-by-one,” Ginsburg complained. “Federal labor law does not countenance such isolation of employees.”

Ginsburg’s dissenting opinion supports the idea that workers can accept terms of employment that include individual arbitration, but then opt out of those terms down the line if the worker believes that the terms are no longer suitable for whatever reason.

While the idea of following the rules only when they suit you is a typical component of the leftist worldview, it does not (or should not) hold in contract law or in business. As Gorsuch noted, the law is very clear on this issue. Ginsburg’s belief that this ruling will lead to an erosion of workers’ rights is overstated and misguided, as is the belief that the courts exist to weigh every single dispute between companies and their workers. Moreover, the notion that courts should always side with employees is another component of the leftist outlook that is simply false.

Gorsuch’s ruling was refreshing in that it demonstrated precisely how the Supreme Court should always operate — by examining a case on the merits and respecting the Rule of Law. Ginsburg’s dissent clearly demonstrated all that is wrong with the judiciary. She chose to engage in speculation and tried to create a ruling not based on what the law is but what she believes it should be.

Mr. Steele accused Mr. Page of meeting with high-level Kremlin figures during his July visit to discuss bribes in exchange for sanctions relief. Mr. Page has testified under oath he never met with those two people or discuss bribes with any Russian.

Mr. Steele also said that former campaign manager Paul Manafort and Mr. Page worked together to coordinate the Russia hacking. Mr. Page testified he has never met Mr. Manafort.

There has been no evidence to rebut that testimony. Special counsel Robert Mueller has told Mr. Manafort’s defense lawyer that he has no evidence of his client talking to Russian officials.

That 15 minutes of fame is getting expensive -

The judgment came after Jason Frank, who used to work at Eagan Avenatti, alleged that that the law firm failed to pay a $4.85 million settlement he had reached in December. He said in court papers that the settlement was personally guaranteed by Michael Avenatti, who has garnered national attention as the attorney for Daniels, the porn actress who is suing President Donald Trump following an alleged 2006 affair.
"At this point, that's what's appropriate," Judge Catherine Bauer said of the $10 million award, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Frank did not immediately return a telephone message seeking comment.
He had worked at Avenatti's firm under an independent contractor agreement and was supposed to collect 25 percent of the firm's annual profits, along with 20 percent of fees his clients paid, according to court documents. He resigned in May 2016 after alleging that the firm didn't pay him millions of dollars that he was owed, misstated the firm's profits and wouldn't provide copies of tax returns and other financial documents.
During Tuesday's hearing, an assistant U.S. attorney said Avenatti had not made a payment that was due last week for unpaid taxes as part of the agreement that was reached in January. Court records show Avenatti had personally agreed to pay about $2.4 million in back taxes and penalties.
Thom Mrozek, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles, said lawyers from that office represent the government in bankruptcy court when there's a debt to a government agency, like back taxes or unpaid student loans.

“Clinton’s [presidential] bid was saved, not destroyed, by Obama’s law-enforcement agencies, which tanked a criminal case on which she should have been indicted. And the hush-hush approach taken to the counterintelligence case against Donald Trump was not intended to protect the Republican candidate; it was intended to protect the Obama administration from the specter of a Watergate-level scandal had its spying on the opposition party’s presidential campaign been revealed.” —Andrew McCarthy

President Trump’s tightened labor market through increased enforcement of immigration is forcing home builders to recruit American women, rather than relying on cheap, illegal alien workers.
A new report by MarketWatch reveals how the tightened labor market is securing construction jobs and opportunities for women who would otherwise have been passed on in favor of cheaper foreign laborers.
In Trump’s tightened labor market, there has been history-making wage growth for American workers in the construction industry, the garment industry, for workers employed at small businesses, black Americans, and restaurant workers.
The tight labor market has also secured higher wages for overtime workers and high-paying, coveted white-collar jobs for American teenagers.
Historically low unemployment for American people of color boosts women into the labor market too.

Walter E. Williams on Russian meddling in the US: From Russia with love.

Those same 990 forms show that the Sea Change Foundation distributed more than $20 million in grants in 2010 and 2011 to environmental organizations. It gave more than $40 million in grants to leftist environmental groups, such as the Natural Resources Defense Council, The Sierra Club Foundation, the League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, the Tides Foundation, the Union of Concerned Scientists and the World Wildlife Fund.

In return for the grant money, those leftist environmentalists were “to promote awareness of climate change,” “reduce reliance on high carbon energy,” “educate the public about climate and clean energy” and “promote climate and clean energy communications.” A U.S. House Science, Space and Technology Committee report, titled “Russian Attempts to Influence U.S. Domestic Energy Markets by Exploiting Social Media,” details that the environmental groups used the Russian money to protest the process of fracking and fight the building of the Keystone XL pipeline. If environmentalists can thwart U.S. oil production, Russia, which is a major energy supplier to Europe, stands to gain greater economic and political power.

Rep. Lamar Smith, the chairman of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, has raised the possibility that those complicit in the scheme to use American environmentalists to advance Russian propaganda and interests could be in violation of federal statutes that apply to foreign agents lobbying in behalf of foreign interests.“

Lord knows what a full list of those kind of lobbying efforts would look like. It's an odd thing that digging up computer-stored evil doings by a US presidential candidate rather than oblique forms of bribery brought out an interest in this. OTOH it's hard to avoid the USB drive theory of Her Nibs activities being brought to light.

It got me to thinking of AIPAC and it's brethren, which have always been a third rail of US policy.

From this:
http://fairbd.net/the-influence-of-ethnic-lobbying-on-us-foreign-policy/

I like this sentence:
'As stated by the former Secretary of Defense, James Schlesinger in 2001, “the United States has less of a foreign policy in a traditional sense of a great power than we have the stapling together of a series of goals put forth by domestic constituency groups”'

Being the internet, I'm now going down the rat hole of lesser known but powerful groups. One appears to be AHI ( American Hellenic Institute ) which appears to love getting the US involved in Greek domestic politics and whatever the current war with Turkey is all about.

You know, it would be pretty clever for Russians (or Saudis for that matter) to fund certain US environmental interests. It's pretty easy to convince people that pipelines are more dangerous than oil tankers, and there's certainly money to be made for the donors (and professional managers of 'non-profits').

You get a lot of bang for your buck donating to groups full of loud, well-meaning people, so I expect no one will ever uncover most of this kind of funding. It's just too easy to hide.

That Susan Rice CYA e-mail to herself minutes before Trump was sworn in is stuck in my noggin. So, I had to look it up to see why.

Ambassador Rice appears to have used this email to document a January 5, 2017 Oval Office meeting between President Obama, former FBI Director James Comey and former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates regarding Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election. In particular, Ambassador Rice wrote:

“President Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities ‘by the book’. The President stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book.”

Aha, there it is. Jan 5. “The President stressed that he is not asking about.....”. Not asking about? Peter’s texts say the WH wants to be informed about everything they are doing.

Hmm. Jan 5 was the day before Comey went to see President-elect Donald J. Trump.

The timeline:

1. January 6, 2017, 9:44 a.m. FBI Chief of Staff James Rybicki sent an email to unspecified recipients stating, "the director is coming into HQ briefly now for an update from the sensitive matter team."

2. January 6, 2017, afternoon. Director Comey met with President-elect Trump.

3. January 7, 2017. Director Comey memorialized his discussion with President-elect Trump via an email to senior FBI leadership. Director Comey wrote, "I said there was something that Clapper wanted me to speak to PE [President Elect] about alone or in a very small group." Director Comey wrote, "I then executed the sessions exactly as I had planned," and "I said media like CNN had them and were looking for a news hook."

4. January 8, 2017, 12:08 p.m. Then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe sent an email to senior FBI leadership with the subject line "Flood is coming." Mr. McCabe wrote, "CNN is close to going forward with the sensitive story. ... The trigger for them [CNN] is they know the material was discussed in the brief and presented in an attachment."

5. January 8, 2017, 12:55 p.m. Mr. McCabe emailed then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates and then-Principal Deputy Attorney General Matthew Axelrod with the subject line "News." Mr. McCabe wrote, "Just an FYI, and as expected, it seems CNN is close to running a story about the sensitive reporting."

Two days later on January 10, 2017, CNN ran the story about the unverified and salacious allegations made in the anti-Trump dossier with BuzzFeed publishing the dossier within a couple hours of CNN's report. The Federalist's Sean Davis writes:

To date, there is no public evidence that the FBI ever investigated the leaks to media about the briefing between Trump and Comey. When asked in a recent interview by Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier, Comey scoffed at the idea that the FBI would even need to investigate the leak of a secret briefing with the incoming president.

Reality check -

NFL owners have unanimously approved a new national anthem policy that requires players to stand if they are on the field during the performance but gives them the option to remain in the locker room if they prefer, it was announced Wednesday.
The policy subjects teams to a fine if a player or any other team personnel do not show respect for the anthem. That includes any attempt to sit or kneel, as dozens of players have done during the past two seasons. Those teams will also have the option to fine any team personnel, including players, for the infraction.

Lock them up! you were saying @ 1139 -

“There are agents all over this country who love the bureau and are sickened by [James] Comey’s behavior and [Andrew] McCabe and [Eric] Holder and [Loretta] Lynch and the thugs like [John] Brennan–who despise the fact that the bureau was used as a tool of political intelligence by the Obama administration thugs,” Joe DiGenova, a former United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, told the Daily Caller.
“They are just waiting for a chance to come forward and testify.”
In a statement to the Daily Caller, an unnamed FBI agent claimed, “Every special agent I have spoken to in the Washington Field Office wants to see McCabe prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They feel the same way about Comey.”
“All Congress needs to do is subpoena involved personnel and they will tell you what they know. These are honest people. Leadership cannot stop anyone from responding to a subpoena. Those subpoenaed also get legal counsel provided by the government to represent them,” the agent added.
Former FBI Assistant Director James Kallstrom made similar statements when asked last December about morale at the bureau.

No doubt. Things haven't changed much, if you don't like a President and you're too lazy to bitch about policies, you cook up stuff like that.

My strong guess is that Obama is gay, so the girlfriend part is probably out, but the Man's Country stories made the rounds. In terms of 'campaign staffers', I'm always reminded of the IRS commissioner.

It all makes a certain amount of sense. Obama is a political being, his whole life and wealth is built on that, so he spent time weaponizing the executive branch for his party. Trump is a $$$$ being, so all of his friends and associates will tend towards sketchy (although perhaps not illegal) business deals. Which approach is preferable?

One important lesson from this is that it takes someone with an incredible ego and a lot of savvy to move into the White House if he's moving in largely by himself. The modern Presidents have all brought in 1000's of camp followers with ready-made hierarchies, and being largely on your own has got to be a bummer.

Oh yeah, just to make this more readable to 'M'. ,,,,,,lol,,,,TRUMPSKI,,,blahblah,,,,,,!!!!!

“But what makes Brennan rise to the top of the list are questions regarding his involvement with the infamous Christopher Steele dossier — you know, the one funded by Hillary Clinton and the DNC. It appears that Brennan lied to Congress when he testified that the Steele dossier had nothing to do with the intelligence community’s conclusion that Russian election interference was intended to help Trump. As Investor’s Business Daily notes, “Brennan also lied when he said he didn’t know who was behind the Steele dossier, even though both the Justice Department and FBI knew a year earlier that Hillary Clinton, Trump’s foe, had paid for the Steele hit job. The idea [that] Brennan, head of the world’s most powerful spy agency, didn’t know who was paying for the dossier simply isn’t credible on any level.”

Meanwhile, as L. Brent Bozell & Tim Graham point out, “We’re at a point where we should be asking what Obama’s top intelligence hacks, then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and then-CIA Director John Brennan, were cooking in 2016. But guess what. CNN hired Clapper, and NBC News hired Brennan. Now they are paid by the networks to tell the folks at home that Trump is nutty for insisting they did anything nefarious.”

https://patriotpost.us/articles/56141-spygate-trump-calls-out-deep-state-conspiracy

The good news is the statue of limitations has run out on Clapper’s lying to Congress. Always a silver lining:

Clapper today said that he was merely “thinking something else” while committing a federal crime as if that somehow exonerates him of responsibility.

Obama even went as far as adding James Clapper to panels which were tasked to review the very programs he had lied under oath about, underscoring a broader problem with the former regime and cover-up efforts.

Finally, allow me to share an award-winning example of Democrat obfuscation in rebuttal to Trump’s demand for an additional investigation.

Senate Minority schmoozer Chuck Schumer (D-NY) did a masterful job of turning this situation inside out: “That he would issue such an absurd and abusive demand based on no evidence shows just how little regard the president has for the rule of law.”

Seriously, he referenced “Rule of Law,” claiming there was “no evidence,” which is precisely the amount of evidence that led to the Mueller investigation.

Schumer then added, “President Trump seems to have the terribly misguided view that the Department of Justice is there to protect his political interests and prosecute his enemies.” Ironically, it was Democrat Party leaders who weaponized the Department of Justice to take down Trump.

Schumer finally ran out of hot air with this summary: “The president’s behavior is the kind of grossly autocratic behavior we’d expect in a banana republic, not a mature democracy.”

Actually, the FBI/CIA probe is what one would expect when banana republic autocrats are attempting to take down their opposition.

As Mick Jagger’s song ends, “It’s a gas, gas, gas,” and more Obama/Clinton FBI/CIA operatives just got doused.

Now a moment of unity. Liberal wingnut from the NYT and young conservative Ben Sharpio agree! A meeting of the minds. Total agreement.

First, the NYT fretting reporter:

“New York Times columnist Frank Bruni expressed his alarm on Tuesday that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling could actually be helping President Donald Trump.
http://dailycaller.com/2018/05/22/mueller-russia-investigation-helping-trump/

Now, young Ben.....the one whom the enlighten socialist/Maoist professors and their brain dead worthless Antifa children become unhinged over and block from speaking on campuses.

“But there’s another reason Democrats seem to be dropping like a stone, too: their Russia obsession. The reality is most Americans think the Russia investigation is going nowhere. As of early May, just 44 percent of Americans though the FBI special counsel investigation of President Trump and his associates is justified; 53 percent thought that the investigation is politically motivated. Three-quarters of Americans think Trump should cooperate with the probe, but Americans are skeptical that there is a there there”

https://patriotpost.us/opinion/56122-how-the-russia-investigation-helps-trump

Yep, America roots for the underdog...especially one like Trump who is being relentlessly bullied by the mean Leftist Maoists. Worse than Nazis. Bully, bully, bully Trump all day long and then they wake up bullying Trump.

The other thing America cares about is victims. We have a deep ingrained sense of justice. We, a kind and generous exceptional nation, are most sympathetic to victims as it violates our sense of justice. All can see how Trump is being bullied and slandered and smeared (along with his immigrant wife and young son) and rightly view President Donald J. Trump as a victim of the bullying and unspeakable injustice perpetrated upon our President by vicious and vile bullies. That is one big turnoff for decent folks to witness, thus the disappearing Blue Wave. Mean people suck. Guess that is why you will never hear a crowd chant “USA, USA, USA!” at a Democrat Party rally.

The Russian 13. Thirteen knots in a noose, 13 the unlucky number...for Meuller. There’s always one in every crowd.

“Former federal prosecutor and National Review Contributing Editor Andrew C. McCarthy told TheDCNF it was too late for Mueller to claim that the complexity of the case warranted a delay.

“Speedy trial rights belong to the defendant, and if the defendant pushes for a trial within the 70 days, the government has little cause to complain,” McCarthy said. “If the case was too complex, the government had the option of holding off on seeking an indictment until it was ready to proceed to trial. When a prosecutor files an indictment, it is tantamount to saying, ‘We are ready to go.'”

It’s “inappropriate for a prosecutor to manufacture complexity and then contend that things are too complex,” McCarthy told TheDCNF. “If a prosecutor is disclosing mountains of foreign language materials without an understanding or explanation of their relevance to the case, that is a delaying tactic and an attempt to chew up the defendant’s resources.”

The tactic “is apt to make the presiding judge very angry,” he added.

Dubelier contended the voluminous evidence against the 13 Russians did not apply to Concord.

Friedrich has yet to rule on Mueller’s request for a delay.

As Bill points out, Muller just dug his own grave.
"Concord Management and Consulting — entered the U.S., hired American lawyers, and demanded a speedy trial. The Speedy Trial Act is a 44-year old federal law that dictates that a federal criminal case must begin within 70 days from the date of the indictment."

Muller wants that law ignored too!

An Oregon teen has filed a lawsuit against his high school after he was suspended for wearing a "Donald J. Trump Border Wall Construction Co." shirt to class.
Addison Barnes maintains he engaged in a "respectful, silent and peaceful" expression of his political views in the lawsuit against Liberty High School, its principal and the Hillsboro School District.
Also included on the shirt was the phrase "the wall just got 10 feet taller," a comment that then-candidate Trump made in a presidential primary debate in February 2016. President Trump's proposed border wall has been a hot topic ever since he first brought up the idea during his successful run for the White House.
