Her name was Molly Tibbetts. Not some girl from Iowa, not just a human hurting another human, no just a deflection.

http://dailycaller.com/2018/08/22/msnbc-tibbetts-iowa-murder/

Yeah, covering Molly Tibbetts’s disappearance was big news until yesterday. Coverage of the searchers, the hog farm, the neighbors casting suspicious eyes on fellow neighbors, the interviews with the locals, her Dad, the police,...all mainstream news. No problem. Now, like M, they are angry it got coverage yesterday. Shame on Bill T, shame on Fox. How dare they! It really pisses them off....the ones with TAD, that is.

“A review of TV clipping service Grabien reveals that Fox actually led their newscast with the Manafort news, spent a little over two minutes on a press conference about the Tibbetts murder, and then continued coverage on the Cohen case.

Maxwell Strachan, a Huffington Post reporter, sounded off when Fox went back to the Tibbetts case later in the hour. The suspect in the Tibbetts case is an illegal immigrant.”

",,,where is Aleppo??? Too bad about Johnson. Who gives a shit about Aleppo now??? Much worse has happened in Syria by now anyway but we won’t talk about that. The pubbers are dividers so they went with the most divisive candidate possible and we see the result."

The quote was "What is a Leppo?". not where, Keach. Johnson, who hadn't been camped in front of a TV for the previous two weeks when Aleppo was front and center thanks to poignant photographs of kids in harm's way, was asked what US policy should be regarding Aleppo, out of the blue.

At the time, Johnson/Weld was as high as 10% in polls. Mission accomplished was the banner that MSNBC could have flown after that.

Johnson was the organ grinder's monkey doffing his hat for Morning Joe and Hardball.

And the Keachies of the world keep forgetting... they had reamed every GOP nominee as if they were the Anti-Christ
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2016/11/05/maher_liberals_cried_wolf_about_bush_and_romney_and_we_were_wrong_fascist_trump_is_different.html

And it was a Podesta email revealed by Wikileaks that revealed DNC marching orders to their media contacts during the primary... Donald Trump was to be promoted (along with Cruz and someone else) as "pied piper candidates" to lead the GOP astray. It worked, Keach.

Robert Cross

Two of trump's former close associates have been convicted of tax fraud and he still hasn't released his tax returns...I wonder why? One would think he would be completely above board about this like every President since Nixon.... unless he had something to hide. Could be he doesn't want people to see how much Russian money he has laundered through his resorts.

Todd Juvinall

I suggest you release your tax returns on this blog to show your true faith in your position BoobieC.

“It might be a while before people are willing to accept information about Trump’s taxes, given Maddow’s over-hype. Douglas Keachie as "M" 105pm

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/09/us/politics/gary-johnson-aleppo.html

Johnson was asked "What would you do if you were elected, about Aleppo?". They had not been talking about Aleppo or Syria, it was a question out of the blue. Cold.

Johnson answered "What is a Leppo?". Rather than say, it's a city in Syria, the inquisitor asked back, "You're kidding".

Anyone being interviewed on MSNBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS etc.... if you aren't arguably left-liberal and a Democratic Party darling, you're there to be torn down if at all possible.

Paul Emery

Well Gregory as you know I voted for Johnson but I have to admit sometimes he was a bit slow. Once he was asked to name one foreign leader he respected and he contorted his face to this goofy posture and said he couldn't think of on.

I voted for him none the less because I couldn't stomach Hillary or Trump, who you now support.

Gregory

Trump isn't running for office, Paul. How does my advocacy for treating him and his administration fairly under the law "now support"? You're trying to nullify the last election. I'm just standing up for it.

I say again, Punchy: you are trying to nullify the last election, and that is WRONG.

Yes, Johnson did appear slow, but I think it was mostly because he didn't have talking points memorized and quick to be recalled and recited. If you have to think about a question first, it is easy to be perceived as "slow".

Robert Cross

Greggy 4:02

"Trump isn't running for office". then why does he have a 'trump 2020' campaign committee and why are Chinese factories making 'trump 2020' banners?

So if it turns out that trump won election by through devious means will you still support it, because it is beginning to look that way.

How many lies and felony convictions does it take for a republican to admit voting for trump was a mistake so the country can move on and repair the damage? None, because it's all fake news and none of it ever really happened in Trumplandia, the alternate universe where the truth is not the truth.

Todd Juvinall

Come on BoobieC, release your tax returns and stop the childish behavior. You are just a big mouth and unable to even live up to your own standards. A loony liberal. Jeeze, change your panties once in a while.

Bill Tozer

Robert Cross @ 4:14 pm

“So if it turns out that trump won election by through devious means will you still support it, because it is beginning to look that way.”

I totally reject that premise. I am all ears. Try to sway me. Please explain Trump won election through devious means. Make your case that Trump won through devious means. Or, it you need to couch your statement, add appears to have won via devious means. I yield the floor to you.

Todd Juvinall

Yes please BoobieC, give us your proof and make list of those things you say were done so we can see if we agree. Waiting.......

Gregory

Trump isn't running for office... yet. Wait until there's a primary for the 2020 election and then we shall see.

I can also say with some certainty I'll not be voting for Trump in 2020.

Now, Bobby.... where are those pesky Russians that Mueller was given million$ and sent out with wide ranging powers to find, the Russkies who affected the election outcome?

Trump was being pushed by the DNC before the first primary as a pied-piper candidate, to weaken the GOP and make it easier for Hillary to take her rightful place because it Was Her Turn. This is how that turned out. Personally, I think the Trump presidency is poetic justice for the Democratic Party, and the good economy, good environmental law reforms and good judicial nominations is icing on the cake.

What damage?
The economic picture looks much better, we're getting good judges put in place, needless regulations are being done away with and our foreign policy is moving away from appeasement to our enemies. I'm not happy with everything, but its going much better than if Hillary had won.
Trump hasn't been convicted of anything and his lies seem to be pretty harmless compared with the type of lying Obama engaged in. Trump is essentially governing as he promised - Obama sold policy to the American public like a shady used car salesman. Hillary would have been far worse.

Who speaks for Mollie besides Trump? Why are the numbers of ‘Angel Moms’ growing week by week? Who but Trump or Pence makes calls to the Angel Mom grieving families before he leaves the office for the day, meets with them as promised when he is in their hometown areas, and invites them to the White House with no cameras present to listen to them?

The forgotten person will be forgotten no more. Who speaks for Molly or Kathryn? “Kathryn Steinle, 32, died in her father's arms when she was shot on July 1, 2015, while they and a family friend were strolling along Pier 14 in the city's tourist-friendly Embarcadero district.”

Kathryn’s last words were, “Daddy, help me”.

Sure. Mothers come looking for their children, lied to, don’t know where they are, haven’t been able talk to the children. Maybe we don’t know where they are either. Was Fauxahonas referring to Moms tagging behind their unaccompanied minors? Could be in foster care or adbanoned by Uncle Cesar. Maybe in a group home somewhere. What name did they use, what nationality? Were they Mexican children that were told by someone to say they are from Guatemala? Are they in juvinelle hall somewhere?

“We need an immigration system that is effective. That focuses on where real problems are......And there was no plan for how they’d be reunified with their children."

Stay classy Senator. Never miss a chance to demagogue Trump or slam his immigration policies. Nice pivot there. Glad to find out where the real problems are.

Well, James Brown has really disappointed the Lefties with his support and love of Trump. A leftistanista’s view of the ugly words uttered by the legend James Brown.

“It’s an ugly chapter for someone my editor once called “part of the holy trinity of athlete-activists with Muhammad Ali and Bill Russell.” It also puts Brown at odds with the fellow iconic athlete-activists of his generation like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dr. John Carlos, and Dr. Harry Edwards, who have called for active resistance to the Trump agenda.

“I didn’t think much of Dr. King. I mean, I am not trying to put him down, but if you think about the majority of the rhetoric, it’s about what’s being done to us. It doesn’t have damn near anything that says what we’re going to do for ourselves.”

This position was shared by the right wing of the Black Power movement, which was focused far more on building small businesses and the economic base of the black community than other forms of resistance. So it was no wonder Jim Brown endorsed Richard Nixon for president in 1968. Nixon himself appealed to this wing of the movement in a speech, saying, “What most of the militants are asking is not separation, but to be included in—not as supplicants, but as owners, as entrepreneurs—to have a share of the wealth and a piece of the action.” Federal government programs, Nixon said, should “be oriented toward more black ownership, for from this can flow the rest—black pride, black jobs, black opportunity and, yes, black power.”

https://www.thenation.com/article/understanding-jim-browns-ugly-support-of-donald-trump/

Not Rahm, too!

“[Rahm] Emanuel is once again coming under fire for blaming a lack of morals in predominantly black and Hispanic neighborhoods for the recent spate of violent crime.” The report adds, “Critics quickly called him out for what they dubbed tone-deaf comments, in which he seemed to be blaming the victims.” These critics are simply condoning the status quo — and worse. ——Jordan Chandler.

You Just Do Not Get It

Our lefty commentators just do not get it? Here is as clear explanation by Salena Zito on Why Trump’s supporters won’t care about Cohen and Manafort’s convictions.

In the aftermath of Tuesday’s news that both former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and his lawyer Michael Cohen were found on the wrong side of the law in separate court cases, the question asked most frequently by the press, Democrats and “Never Trump” Republicans is, “Where do Trump voters go now?”

The answer is the same that it has always been since they first started asking it Nov. 9, 2016: With Trump.

This new conservative populist coalition is not the fluke the political class hoped it was. Donald Trump did not cause it, he is just the result of it, so no matter what he does, it continues. It is predicated on them, not him.

The coalition is a strike at not just tone deafness in both Congress and the White House but also high levels of incompetence, negligence and shoddy performance at agencies, as well as inept social services, a bloated and incompetent bureaucracy, endless wars and multinational agreements and treaties that don’t benefit average people.

These voters knew who Trump was going in, they knew he was a thrice-married, Playmate dating, Howard Stern regular who had the morals of an alley cat. They were willing to look past all of that because of how institutions had failed their communities for three consecutive presidencies.

Right now the value of Trump to the Trump voter is he is all that stands between them and handing the keys to Washington back over to the people inside Washington. That’s it. He’s their only option. You’ve got to pick the insiders or him.

Read the rest HERE.

Bill Tozer

Here they come. Same thing China, the USSR, North Korea, Khmer Rouge did. Top on the priority list. Oh yeah, add the Reign of Terror in France. Turn the churches (and mosques) into Temples of Enlightment.

“The faith community, like anyone else, needs to evolve with the times,” Democratic Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi said during debate on the legislation. “The science is clear. The claim that the First Amendment can be used as a defense for promoting fraudulent conduct is a fallacious argument.”

Guns. Wonder how long before gun hobbyist magazines are removed from magazine racks down at the market? Banks may not want to business with such stores.

Reddit has banned certain gun forums and updated its policies to forbid using Reddit to “solicit or facilitate” (extremely broad terms) transactions or gifts involving firearms. Its policy applies to gun sales, drug sales, prostitution, stolen goods, personal information, and counterfeit official documents. One of those things is not like the other. The keeping and bearing of firearms is an explicit, enumerated constitutional right. The rest of the list largely deals with criminal activity.

The murder of Mollie Tibbetts is a sad and tragic story but it's defiantly being exploited by Trump as a diversion from his legal problems. PaulE 1127am - IMHO, it is just as important to keep reminding people of the mess the Dems have made of SF, as long as they continue trying to export those values statewide (nationwide?). Such reminders are the analogue of your constant efforts to denigrate the Trump administration (e.g. gleeful poll quotes) because you would like to constrain Trump's influence on our nation. My only wish is that you would debate the merit of any of the things Trump's policies have achieved rather than your unswerving focus on his poll numbers and inconsequential 'lies'. But instead you fly in tight formation with what is now the announced election tactic by the Dem leadership - to focus on Trump's travails rather than present a competing platform of policies. You have been prescient in this regard, because this is the tactic you have already implemented since Trump was sworn in.

re: PaulEmery & The Homeless "What ideas do you have about the problem?"

Drugs and alcohol have always been around. God knows how many bars NC had in it's heyday and there was no problem buying bottles of laudanum at the local pharmacy.

A good start might be a combination of two things: readily available low end jobs and really mean cops.

Given the lack of horse stables and mines at this point combined with a police force that is told to let homeless people do as they like, you get a predictable result.

An additional solution might be to build a bunch of 2 ton human-drawn gypsy wagons as part of a feel-good effort.

Walt

Ahhhh.. The homeless... I say make the LIBS take them in.
Just take the DEM voter roll and start dropping them off at the registered address. Be sure Paul gets his fair share.

It a fine solution. Make LIBs do what they demand of the taxpayer.
LIBS are already "Frisco-ing" Nevada Co. The damned lowlifes are everywhere. They don't want to work, and demand handouts.
Even the dude on the corner with a cardboard sign saying "will work for food",, WON'T!!! He wanted the dollar.
The same for the guy using his supposed family as props. Didn't want the work that was offered.( we needed a shovel and broom guy)

The LIBS have done a fine job of producing deadbeats.

I said: 'What kind of a man is this?.........You know the only reason I gave him the job? Because I felt loyalty, he was an original supporter. He was on the campaign. He knows there was no collusion."

To Which Sessions replied, "While I am attorney general, the actions of the Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations."

It seems Sessions is finally growing some cajones, along with Cohen, Pecker, and a host of others who are no longer intimidated by the goombah master.

Todd Juvinall

Sessions always had the cajones. Even when you and your lib ilk were screaming at him for his position against illegals when he was a Senator. Funny how you punks on the left will make nice with all those devil's when it suits your hate against Trump or Republicans. You are a shameless idiot and we all laugh at your false praise. And Cohen is a democrat I understand and a good one too. Pecker is a publisher and you might worry that your pals at Mother Jones could be next.

Robert Cross

Todd, you seem to get angrier by the day. I totally understand. It must be tough watching your idol turn out to be a liar and a con man just like those nasty liberals said from the beginning.

Question for all: What do you think about trump giving Manafort a pardon? He has been hinting at it for months. Typical goombah stuff, keep your mouth shut and get a pardon. A juror said Manafort would have been convicted on all 18 counts had one juror not hung the jury. In other words, the dude is guilty as hell of committing multiple felonies. It was probably a trump voter who believes the truth is not the truth that hung the jury.

George,

How do you define an "inconsequential lie"?
Would you call lying to the American people about North Korea's nuclear capabilities and ambitions by saying:

"Just landed - a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea. " an "inconsequential lie"? There's no way you could possibly believe it's true.

I've got dozens more of Trumps lies but lets start with that one. Is it true or is it a lie?

Back to climate change!

https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/21/opinions/if-trump-and-gop-dont-get-climate-change-they-dont-deserve-public-office-filipovic/index.html

Ms.Filipovic has a double major in journalism and politics (two sides of the same coin) and a J.D. Probably hasn't taken a 'science' class since her 'Your Friend, the Amoeba' class she took to meet a general ed requirement.

There is a fire weather alert for Nevada County this Sunday... high winds and low humidity. But we're exiting from the summer peak heat season, slowly... it ain't over until the first soaking rains... but we will have the wet and ice season soon. Along with the obligatory reminders, missing this past summer, that it's weather, not climate.

Not angry at all. Actually loving how you libs are on a daily drama queen carousel. You are the angry ones. You just can't get anything to stick on Trump. Your ilk did the same to Reagan and Bush. Did not work. So take your meds and relax, I love our kicking your lib asses all over the place.

Punchy 431pm

That's hyperbole from a salesman. It truly was of no consequence save to present a happy face to the NorKs... no weapons were scrapped, we didn't let NorKs into the War Room and give them they keys to the Football.

A consequential lie is personified by "If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor".

Wrong Gregory

It's a lie to give the American people false assurances of securety and safety to promote a fake agenda. Can't think of a more outright lie. Amazed that you think it's just "hyperbole from a salesman". The "salesman" is the President of the United States talking to the American people.

Don Bessee

You can keep your doctor, you can keep your insurance was a orchestrated lie by the whole of the 0 administration. @456

;-)

Gregory

Wrong, Punchy. There was no dancing in the streets, and the agenda, talking to the Norks, wasn't and isn't fake.

"Truthful hyperbole" is Trump's style. One of the reasons I didn't vote for him.

If you can't "think of a more outright lie", you just can't think. And you don't think, over and over.

Paul Emery

Talking to the NK's and reporting lies about the results are two different things. Amazing that you are so gullible to Trumps bullshit.

Here's a contemporary lie for you're reading pleasure:

"The first denial that Donald Trump knew about hush-money payments to silence women came four days before he was elected president, when his spokeswoman Hope Hicks said, without hedging, “We have no knowledge of any of this.”

The second came in January of this year, when his attorney Michael Cohen said the allegations were “outlandish.” By March, two of the president’s spokesmen — Raj Shah and Sarah Huckabee Sanders — said publicly that Trump denied all the allegations and any payments. Even Cohen’s attorney, David Schwartz, got in on the action, saying the president “was not aware of any of it.”

In April, Trump finally weighed in, answering a question about whether he knew about a payment to porn star Stephanie Clifford, who uses the stage name Stormy Daniels, with a flat “no.”

It’s now clear that the president’s statement was a lie — and that the people speaking for him repeated it."

Sticks and stones, luv. I find it amazing you'd pick that, out of all of Trump's utterances, to personify a big lie. Gullible? I knew what it was when it was first uttered.

But then you thought the movie "Bob Roberts" was funny.

Gregory

Punchy 519pm

Anything about "Stormy Daniels" is inconsequential almost by definition.

Quote time

It begins: “It’s a game changer. Should be. A president, identified as an unindicted co-conspirator of a federal crime … is on the verge of making a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court — a court that may someday soon determine the extent of the president’s legal jeopardy. In my view, the Senate Judiciary Committee should immediately pause the consideration of the Kavanaugh nomination.” —Sen. Chuck Schumer

“We should be pushing to postpone the Kavanaugh hearing. This nomination is now tainted with illegality, because the president who’s nominated Brett Kavanaugh has been implicated in a criminal conspiracy, not just any criminal conspiracy, but one that impacted the outcome of the election.” —Sen. Richard Blumenthal

Two Leftinistas chime in on Mollie T. On course the “journalist” blames toxic masculiay, dud. The other decided there was no benefits to White Privilege and became a Redskin. A Washington Redskin. Daughter of Chief Grand Cherokee. A princess. NAP. Native American Princess.

Ok, class, let’s get down to the root causes of The real problem. In my time, it was “All we need to do is get the Mexican economy built up and humming along and have factories down there and have good paying jobs for the workers and they won’t want to come to the US” narrative. Taken as the gospel truth. Who could disagree with that? No problem, looks good in academia.
Mexico hit oil, discoveries of oil field everywhere and opened up the gulf for them to boot. They can drill in some parts of our waters, we can’t. Sweet. Petro dollars will solve the problem. Oppps. Corrupt Gov officials and the corrupt union bosses done swindled that plan away. Ok, NAFTA will solve our “border problem”. No? Ok, how about technology? Dunno, Jury is out on that one. Meh-he-co just elected a Marxist, so it’s going ain’t going to get any better. Only a hell of a lot worse. Marshall Plan for Central America next? The root causes, eh?

“I’m so sorry for the [Mollie Tibbetts] family here, and I know this is hard, not only for the family but for the people in her community, the people throughout Iowa. But one of the things we have to remember is we need an immigration system that is effective. That focuses on where real problems are. Last month, I went down to the border, and I saw where children had been taken away from their mothers. … And there was no plan for how they’d be reunified with their children.” —Sen. Elizabeth Warren

“Mollie Tibbetts was murdered b/c she told a man to leave her alone while she was jogging. Her murderer happens to be undocumented. This isn’t about border security. This is about toxic masculinity. Mollie Tibbetts lost her life b/c a man couldn’t take her saying no. Full stop.” —CNN’s Symone D. Sanders

… “No, Mollie’s death isn’t about her killer’s immigration status. Conservatives only caring when they hear ‘illegal immigrant’ is just as evil as liberals ceasing to care when they hear it. But the reason it’s worth noting is because it wouldn’t have happened if he weren’t here.” —Allie Stuckey

PaulE 428pm - To you a lie is any statement a person makes that later turns out not to be true, whether the statement was a deliberate falsification of what happened, or an assessment of what may happen in the future that doesn't come to pass. I, and people who think like me, do not characterize the latter assessments as lies (although I do understand why you and yours must do so). So if you do call such misconstruals of what will be known in the future as lies, then I characterize them as inconsequential. Your logic would have every economist, stock analyst, financial analyzer, and even physicians who issue wrong diagnoses be labeled a liar. Therefore, suit yourself, as long as we all know your game.

"It seems Sessions is finally growing some cajones, along with Cohen, Pecker, and a host of others who are no longer intimidated by the goombah master."
Bobby is really in love with this millionaire tax cheat. I called him on it and he tried to claim he doesn't really believe Cohen. Well - if you don't swallow Cohen's lie, where the heck does that leave Mueller?
Cohen was caught biggly in a tax fraud deal that had nothing to do with Trump. But - if Cohen sings a song for Mueller, he just might escape jail time. So he cooks up a story against Trump and Bobby gets tingly for Cohen again. A lefty that thinks a millionaire tax cheat is wonderful. Gotta love it.

The US has tightened rules that President Donald Trump says will keep American technolgy from being stolen (AFP Photo/MANDEL NGAN)
Washington (AFP) - President Donald Trump on Thursday hailed recent reforms toughening Washington's powers to prevent foreign investments that could threaten national security or allow the theft of American technology.
Trump's remarks on the legislation, which was enacted earlier this month and does not target specific countries, coincided with a visit by trade negotiators from China -- a country he accuses of rampant industrial espionage and forced transfers of intellectual property.
"I think not enough focus has been put on China and that's been for a long time," Trump told reporters at the White House.
The accusations are at the center of a trade war between Washington and Beijing, which Trump launched earlier this year, and which escalated Thursday with each country hitting another $16 billion in goods with steep new tariffs.
"This weakens our economy when they steal, destroys our jobs and threatens the security of our country," Trump said.
"We now have a right to stop it. They won't be stealing our companies anymore, especially companies that are quite complex."
The reforms adopted this month as part of a defense spending bill updated 30-year-old statutes giving the president broad powers to block foreign investments in sensitive industries or those deemed harmful to US national security.
- Expanded powers -
Senior administration officials told reporters Thursday that the Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization Act was not aimed at any one country -- but reiterated calls on China to end what Washington describes as predatory trade practices.
Passed with broad bipartisan support among lawmakers, the legislation expands the powers of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), allowing it to cover both land concessions and real estate purchases as well as minority investments in companies that could allow technology and sensitive private data to be transferred outside the United States.

Rebane - so Hillary isn’t a liar. Good to know your definition of liar. I’ll keep that in mind.

So George you write about, and I quote, " an assessment of what may happen in the future that doesn't come to pass. " you, and I quote, "do not characterize the latter assessments as lies"( See first quote.

So if Obama based his "assessment on what he thought was the truth and it turned out not to be not so than that example, being his observations on doctor availability under ObamaCare, that does not, in your view, constitute a lie.
