Brainy Robots and Longer Unemployment Lines. This is one of the issues covered during the third annual Singularity Summit in San Jose last Saturday. RR readers are familiar with this issue and the MSM and our government are blind to it. Reading this report and its comment thread gives you an idea of the magnitude of the problem society will soon face, and the major elements of the debate it will spark when everyone finally wakes up to what is coming.
Expectation of Machine Intelligence Could Change Social Behavior was another topic covered at this year’s Singularity Summit. I love their use of the word ‘Could’. As more people understand what the Singularity will entail, more people will want to survive until it arrives and start making appropriate plans. This can put a whole new wrinkle into the economies of the world as the speaker at the conference points out. Again, something that you might want to get acquainted with as the world turns. Of course, socialism has never been an environment for innovation, creativity, and hard work. So we may not have to worry about the Singularity creeping up on us too soon.
