Todd,
Your nonsense is amazing and a waste of peoples time. Maybe its time for you to start a new hobby that involves little discourse with others and more time in the natural world. Being outside has many positive affects on our psyches. I would challenge your point but will refrain since there is no point in talking with somebody who seems mentally unstable and unable to have an adult conversation.

Todd Juvinall

So you didn't go into harms way then PaulE? Sorry, you are a hypocrite. You trash Bush for staying in the homeland and then try and make yourself out as someone not judged as you judge. Some people went to war some didn't some sat on their butts and drew a government check while playing footsie in Albuquerque. You are too much. Once you liberals get all the PC in place, no one can say anything. Your ridiculous opinion would be matched by someone saying to you that you cannot say anything about the country of Georgia because you haven't been there. You need to get real. Amazing.

Todd Juvinall

Sorry you have mental problems BenE. That is your style to all who disagree with you. I would suggest you stick to your fantasies and don't play here with the big boys.

Paul Emery

"Some people went to war some didn't some sat on their butts and drew a government check while playing footsie in Albuquerque."

Which one were you Todd?

Paul Emery

By the way I am critical of Bush because he was a quitter. I finished my entire six year obligation. Todd. you who speak so bravely, what did you do to serve our military?

Todd Juvinall

Paul you were dodging the Vietnam War (the draft) by joining the Air Force. That was a scam many did until it got figured out. Why did you dodge your duty to go into harms way?

Paul Emery

Are you saying that the thousands of Americans that joined the National Guard or the Air Force Reserves during the Viet Nam War were draft dodgers?

Ben Emery

Will someone on Ruminations please explain to Todd his approach is very childish and counterproductive? Or is the idea that he is playing his role perfectly?

George Rebane

PaulE, your 428pm is a sidestep to discussion that you have perfected in these pages. Anyone with a point to make that can be considered on its merits has sufficient "ground to speak critically" or otherwise forward his idea. The idea, once offered, lives and dies on its own and not on the credentials of the one who put it forward.

As a veteran, I can vouch that the combat arms are pretty well empty of people who hold the broader 'green beliefs' - they don't tend to join the military very much.

Todd Juvinall

I am not disparaging veterans at all in fact I am and have always been a huge supporter of the troops and veterans. What PaulE has tried to do and with the help of his green buddy is to say because someone did not serve in the military that they have no free speech rights (or even have an opinion). Paul has asked me before and I have explained my personal situation with the military so all he is trying to do is one up me by stating I cannot speak on being critical of anyone because I did not serve. Then PaulE trashes Bush for being in the military as equal as Paul yet he sees no hypocrisy in his words. BenE's are childish and stupid so I won't respond to his latest whining.

Paule then complains when I relate his service to Bush and yet Bush mastered flying a jet fighter while Paul did what? PaulE has a thin skin but sure likes to dish it out. BenE was a candidate for the Greens here in Nevada County and when push comes to shove, I got three times as many votes than he here if that is how he rates his importance.

The military as served by George and Russ and many others I know is done no favors by people like PaulE or BenE. I personally knew some fellows that when faced with the draft and a ticket to Vietnam, joined the Air Force and the National Guard because at the time they were told they would not go there (that was a common secret then). Their service was fine but their reasons to join was self protection from being placed in harms way. Try and twist that PaulE.

George

So Todd who stayed at home and rode motorcycles with his buddies while going ra ra for the boys dying overseas has your support in accusing those thousands of us who served our country in the reserves of being draft dodgers. My pointing out that Todd has no standing to make that observation is valid and should be recognized since it brings into question the premise that Greens don't serve in the military and theo "other side" does. That is an unfounded judgment that I question by using Todd as an example.

Douglas Keachie

hey everybody, Mike Thornton needs your vote.

My ammo comes in green boxes from Remington.

@Todd, are you talking about the state of Georgia here, where Bush was supposedly based? Or perhaps someplace further east?

"Your ridiculous opinion would be matched by someone saying to you that you cannot say anything about the country of Georgia because you haven't been there. You need to get real. Amazing."

Todd Juvinall

Keachie has lost his mind.
