"... with the whole world full of fools, there is none who thinks himself one, or even suspects it." Gracian #201
George Rebane
The news comes pouring in daily of Obamacare’s manifest incorrigible faults and the stream of palliative executive orders designed to rescue it. The longstanding cases of this administration’s corruption and scandals are not going away in spite of the recently launched diversionary pyrotechnics about income inequality and discrimination against women in the workplace. The federal government’s rogue departments and agencies continue recalcitrant. Systemic unemployment and welfare rolls grow to record levels while the nation’s ability to defend its interests wanes as unpayable national debt climbs toward the stars - and the list goes on.
What President Obama has done both domestically and internationally during his years in office can be only characterized as being 1) insouciant while terminally incompetent bordering on imbecility, or 2) a clever traitor who has every intention of reducing the US to second world nation-state peerage, dependent then on a strong global government to define and succor our economic and security needs. There no longer is any discernible middle ground.
Being generous by nature, I give the man the benefit of doubt, and hold him to be the former as he achieves the ends of the latter.
(This brief summary is posted as a public service to RR readers who may have missed the unifying thrust of the commentaries critical of the administration that decorate these pages.)
I have to say, if you haven't yet lost all faith in MSM, then their triumphant trumpeting of Obamacare's enrollee achievements should be the straw that breaks the camels back. To think that every major news outlet claims victory when 7 million people sign up for health care, is nothing less than extraordinary, and the democratic faithful take it hook, line, and sinker.
Jimmy Fallon said it best...
"Speaking on Tuesday April 1, Fallon joked that regarding the 7 million Americans that have signed up for health insurance, “It's amazing what you can achieve when you make something mandatory and fine people if they don't do it and then keep extending the deadline for months.
Fallon then doubled-down on his ObamaCare attack and mocked how The White House “Said that 7 million people have signed up. When asked how many people tried to sign up, they were like, 30 million."
“The Tonight Show” host continued to ridicule how ObamaCare being “mandatory” was “like a Cinderella story” before he proclaimed “If you still haven't enrolled, you might have to pay a penalty called the individual shared responsibility payment, which is 1% of your salary. Then Americans said, "Man, good thing I don't have a job."
Its hard to be optimistic about a bright future when the press sets such a low bar for the future of our great country.

Forty years ago, Friedrich von Hayek was awarded the Nobel Prize in economics. In his speech, Hayek said,
If man is not to do more harm than good in his efforts to improve the social order, he will have to learn that in this, as in all other fields where essential complexity of an organized kind prevails, he cannot acquire the full knowledge which would make mastery of the events possible. He will therefore have to use what knowledge he can achieve, not to shape the results as the craftsman shapes his handiwork, but rather to cultivate a growth by providing the appropriate environment, in the manner in which the gardener does this for his plants.
The question is, what is Obama cultivating in his garden? The environment he is providing has resulted in the decline of America, socially, economically and as a world power. His ineptness is becoming more and more effective, as we slide toward third world status. He rules like a third world despot who ignores the rule of law, he participates in and promotes crony economics, and he has no respect for alternative points of view. His religious dedication to scientific cults prevents his ability to make ration decisions that would promote economic growth and less dependence on foreign energy cartels who are funding islamic extremists. He lacks the moral authority to be a real leader. He is cleverly inept, following the tenits of his lefty manipulator, led by the puppet master Vallarie Jarret who mentoring him for his next job as the UN Supreme Leader in a on one world government. He can point with pride to the other third world nations and say. "See I made the America an equal, poor and powerless just like you."

"Mentoring him for his next job as the UN Supreme Leader in a one world government." You really believe the rest of the world wants to be led by Barack Obama? Really?!

RL, no, the rest of the world does not want to be led by Barack Obama. But neither do we, and yet we are.

This lefty group are not thinking about what the world wants, they are thinking about what they want. They had a plan to get Obama elected, even when they were going up against the Clinton Machine. They managed to get Obama re-elected. Think for a moment, how one gets elected to lead the UN. It is libs all the way down. Remember these are the people bringing you global warming, even though it is not warming. Anything is possible in liberal land. Obama is not making any decisions that would make him illegible for the UN's highest post.

When I look at what's been going on with the Obama administration who all swore an oath to protect and uphold our Constitution and Bill of Rights it's disgusting to watch them do the opposite. What do our nations laws say regarding those aiding our alleged enemies? We've witnessed the Administration legally attacking Arizona for it trying to protect its borders from illegal immigrants because the Fed government rejigged it's duty to protect our borders. Then the Attorney Generals Fast and Furious provided guns to Americas enemies aka the Mexican drug cartel that resulted in the murder of our border guard. Then we watched the Benghazi murder of our Ambassador with no help from the Commander in .chief and aids. Was it a cover up for more gun running? Gun running like what California's anti second amendment Democrat Lee has been doing with terrorists. Will he too be rewarded for his treachery? Don't our leaders have to abide by the laws they swear an oath to? Those who stand up for the law are called terrorists by these people? Yet it's obvious to me that our Constitution and Bill of Rights are responsible for uniting the United States of America making this nation a place where people from all over the world wanted to come to in order to realize freedom and a chance to accomplish their dreams. Why does the President and his party reject it, and continually divide we the people internally? History declares that a divided nation can be destroyed from within, but our God given Bill of Rights has the power to unite us again.

Fish... Stevie will never grasp the concept that "respect" is earned, and not freely given. LIBS "respect" him for the free stuff he's "given".
The ONE thing "O" didn't lie about was his "fundamental transformation of America". It's been transformed alright,, into something unrecognizable by the founding Fathers.
Our government has turned on us citizens.
Posted by: Walt | 09 April 2014 at 02:17 PM
Well truth be told Walt it was well down that road long before Obama arrived. He hasn't helped matters.
Posted by: fish | 09 April 2014 at 02:48 PM
I would argue that the transformation in this country is more due to cultural reasons than political, but the powers that be have done nothing to stave off the inevitable decline. Its hard to determine when exactly this could have occurred, but when more Americans turned from self-reliance to putting a hand out for a handout, things have definitely changed. I wouldn't go so far as to guess at Obama's future political intentions, but any person in political power, whether now or in the future, will certainly enjoy the immense power that comes with a majority of his/her constituents being dependent on some form of governmental assistance. There is certainly a powerful relationship (clearly understood by both parties)between a dog and his master, in that the master controls the allotment of food and water. The same could be said for people and government.
The real question everyone should be asking themselves, is whether or not they are capable of supporting themselves without government interfering in every aspect of their life. The future of our country lies in the answer given by the majority of people.

Okay Pubbers let's look at recent history wqhile you pound your chest about Obama.
My observations show that since FDR, Reagan is the only Republican president that didn't have negative job growth. Carter is the only Democratic President that didn't have positive job growth.
Most of the 17 trillion debt was put on the bill during Republican Presidencies. The deficit has also grown mostly under Republican presidents, and shrunk under Democrats.
The Great Depression and the Great Recession both happened during Republican administrations, both due to a lack of regulation of financial markets.
The Republican idea of health care has given us the worlds most expensive system with 17% of he GDP with no urgency for reform when in control.
The Republican support for the war on drugs and prison privatization has grown our Prison population by 400%, giving the land of the free the largest per capita prison population in the world.
So if you're looking for an alternative for the Dems the Pubbettes surely have shown historically they are not the way to go.

Posted by: Paul Emery | 09 April 2014 at 08:11 PM
Aw, now Paul is trying to change the subject. Let's get back to the issue of Obama.
Obama has taken more luxury vacations than any other president, and he has done so as the American economy was in collapse for his policies. He has taken his entire family and spent tens of millions of dollars in exotic, luxe locations like Hawaii, Vail, Europe and Africa. His predecessors made Americans increasingly familiar with places like Camp David and Martha’s Vineyard or their own vacation homes such as the Bushes’ Kennebunkport, the Kennedys’ Cape Cod, the Reagans’ Rancho Del Cielo in California or George W’s exotic locale, Crawford, Texas. Other presidents were exceptionally sensitive to the state of the American people, foregoing vacations when the American people were mourning or hurting economically – not the Obamas. When the economy was at its worst, gas prices were at record highs, and Americans were going without vacations and other needs, Obama extended his wife and daughters’ vacation in Spain.
But luxe vacations are just the beginning. Obama has golfed more than any other president. On days when America has been under attack, on days when military heroes have died, on days when the nation is mourning – still Obama finds time for a game of hoops with a hip-hop star or a round of golf with a key contributor. His advisers had to pull him off the golf course to talk him into taking out Osama bin Laden.
Show me other wise?

It used to amaze me when self-declared independents or middle-roaders or decline-to-staters always denigrated the Right when the Left was criticized. Since then I've learned that all those self-declared labels were simply cover-ups and camouflage for a pronounced list to port while giving the picture of being even-handed and above it all.

You are showing you're Republican stains again. At least I didn't vote for Obama a second time which I doubt was the case with you with Bush II second time around.

Russ - As of August 2013, Obama had spent 92 days away from the White House, while George Bush had spent 323 days away from the White House at the same point during his presidency.
Obama does not own a vacation home, or ranch property.

I mean comparing Obama to the various Republican ilk offered in the last 50 years seems like a reasonable extension of this conversation wouldn't you say?
Posted by: Paul Emery | 09 April 2014 at 11:28 PM
PaulE 1128pm - We can compare presidents all day long, however equating Bush2's sins to those of Obama illustrates not only your own place in the ideological spectrum, but also the increasingly wide gap between the country's left/right poles.
Given the structure and operation of our federal government, attributing everything that happens on a given watch to the discretionary powers of any president is naive. In comparing Obama's tenure to other presidents, we should focus on what legislation, executive orders, department directives, appointments, foreign/domestic policy initiatives, etc that the chief executive personally promised and then prosecuted. If one blames the actions of the Fed or SCOTUS or an opposite party dominated recalcitrant Congress on a sitting president says only that he missed some critical civics classes in high school.

Can't say what the board will do if a republican finds his way into the White House the next go around. Obama is the current empty suit occupying the Oval Office and is fair game for criticism. Get back to me after the 2016 election and I'll let you know if your comment was legitimate.
Posted by: fish | 10 April 2014 at 08:36 AM
George
Can that also be said in reverse.
"NOT equating the sins of Bush 2 to Obama illustrates not only your own place in the ideological spectrum, but also the increasingly wide gap between the country's left/right poles."
You're continued support for Bush2 in his second election shows some kind of inability to rise above fear based party politics and pursue new and creative ideas. Unless, of course you approved of the job Bush did and felt he earned your vote. That creates an entirely different conversation. The results of his second term are there to see for sure. I don't have to defend Obama second time around because I didn't vote for him.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 10 April 2014 at 08:46 AM
The big problem with what ever happens and what ever you have or haven't done to try to protect yourself from the coming financial collapse is that the rule of law won't be upheld. We have already seen this from Obama.
http://www.dailywealth.com/2125/gm-americas-biggest-bankruptcy
No matter where the 'smart money' goes, the govt will change the rules
(ex post facto, if needed) or just ignore the rules and grab your wealth. Buying real estate looks good until you realize the govt knows where it is and who owns it. They will bleed you dry, if necessary.
Gold looked good in the 30s until it was simply taken away at pennies on the dollar. It's value magically went way up once the govt owned it all. Try to stay off the govt radar. Don't stand out in the crowd. If you are in the minority, you have no standing. The trick is to appear as if you are part of the great unwashed and have nothing to your name while actually being solvent.
I know - easy to say, but hard to do. It's been done in the past and can be done again. Actual strategy varies according to circumstances.
And circumstance change daily. Have fun!

Really, and American President is elected under the worst economic circumstances since 1933 and the opposition parties first declaration is that their goal is to make him fail; then they obstruct every action he proposes, shutting down the government and setting out to drown government in the bathtub; and his critics say, "He is the least effective President ever' because he has not done more of what he said he wanted to do.
Perhaps you should take a civics class George, because the America you represent is closer to the USSR than President Obama's is. The very premise of American governance is that we work together and that Party does not transcend nation.
Perhaps we can start working together to meet mutual goals for our nation again when you guys stop being such evil liars.

Sorry Steve, We liked the United States the way it was, before the "fundamental transformation". More people than not, are on food stamps. ( LIBS think that's a good thing. Ask Nancy...) Never mind the real number of unemployed... It's truly staggering.
Get the new news on the IRS scandal. A whole new can of worms just got opened.
Now government goons are going after a rancher with a small army. This is YOUR Liberalism at work.
OH.. Don't forget from dear Nancy.. " There is not one more dime that can be cut".
And a small history lesson.. "American President is elected under the worst economic circumstances since 1933 "
LIBS had the House AND Senate.. LIBS wrote and passed the bills... Yet you want to blame Bush just because his signature is on them? Nice try.. He gave LIBS what they wanted. That's the LIB definition of "compromise".
Now stop the whining that Conservatives are picking on a poor, defenseless, black guy.
The fix was in just getting him elected, even within the LIB party.
He was, and still is unfit for the office.
But blame Bush.. That hasn't been used in over a week.

Like I said Paul,, He was "compromising" LIB style, and gave what LIBs wanted. He didn't want to see Nancy blow a gasket and smudge her makeup, or break a heal running to a microphone calling him an insensitive prick.
Just because what he signed "looks bad" now, the blame is on who WROTE IT.
Kind of like the "illegal" war crap. LIBS signed off on it. Both houses.
I don't recall "O" going to Congress to ask permission for LIBya attacks.
Speaking of "O" speaking,, Right after he pipes up, the stock market dives.
There is a good pattern of that. Good thing I buy stocks that are not Obummer friendly.
They go up when he spews. Guns and ammo buck his trend.

Simple contention held by about half of Americans: If the opposition had not vigorously opposed Obama's objectives and policies, then we would have been on the doorstep of USSR-type governance. And Obama's supporters have behaved just like the party faithful in the old country, screaming that those who oppose the road to big government socialism are themselves totalitarians (just add to the 'fascist' label of the old to now also being cleverly called 'Stalinist').
It is simply amazing how the principles taught in Alinsky's 'Rules for Revolution' are being exercised by Team Obama and his local minions across the country - in this case, accuse your opposition of doing exactly what you are doing.
Posted by: George Rebane | 10 April 2014 at 12:46 PM
StevenF - "Perhaps we can start working together to meet mutual goals for our nation again when you guys stop being such evil liars."
That would be the left. They are one massive lie. How has the Tea Party lied?
The entire Obama admin legacy is lying non-stop.
And please, Steve - it's lunch time for me. mutual goals...
give it a rest. We conservatives want freedom and liberty.
Haven't seen any of that from your side.
Posted by: Account Deleted | 10 April 2014 at 12:52 PM

No one has been held accountable from the day "O" took office. No one fired, no one jailed. Our government has become a sewer under LIB leadership.
People's Constitutional rights are infringed more and more, day by day by this sham of an administration.
LIBS have played fast and loose with the Constitution knowing damned well nothing can be done by the Right as long as Holder is AG.
But Holder sure went after gun shops and customer lists. Holder put a stop to states rounding up illegal Dem. constituents. ( boarder jumpers) They cry there is no money for ICE to do their job. OH... Then Boarder cops were ordered to run away if confronted with weapons. Yup,, That's boarder protection... LIB style.

Paul, folks who gave up on Obama part deux had a fine alternative candidate, a former governor running on the Libertarian ticket.
GOP voters not wanting to vote for Bush the second time around were faced with Kerry (like that gravitas he's spreading around as not very secretary of state?), an unemployed software engineer or Ralph Nader. Damned if they did, damned if they didn't.

WOW!!! How bout those Hatch act violations by the IRS? Don't worry LIBS your minions are safe with Holder in charge of the Dept. of Injustice. Only people tied in any way to Conservatives and Tea Party groups will feel the full weight of the government.
Property taken, sued, re-sued, property destroyed, businesses raided,( without warrant)
Laws enacted by a stroke of a pen at the EPA, for land grabs.
Got any property? Unless your a big donator to LIBS, those laws will apply to you too.

Your fence line off by a few feet, then catch it years later? Tough.... It now belongs to the guy next door.
Someone secretly using a spring that's on your land? Sorry,, you didn't find it soon enough. It's his.
Now the government goons in Nv. don't want to play by the rules.
That rancher's family has been using "that land" for well over 100 years. Just change the law on the fly as needed.
They say they are owed one million bucks for the "illegal" grazing, yet they are shelling out 800 grand and change for contracted "cowboys".

No, Paul, I wrote what I wrote. No one forces anyone to vote at all and everyone has to decide for themselves who they can stand voting for when looking for the least of the evils on the ballot.
Bob Barr was an alternative in 2008 against Obama and McCain, not 2004; too bad you didn't vote for him the first time. The LIB in 2004 was Badnarik, who won the nomination by preaching to the choir who nominated him. Not many others voted for him in the general.

How dare he make the "man child" look like the weak SOB that he is.
The world is in turmoil unseen for decades, and instead of a "laser like focus" and "working tirelessly until the job is done",, It's golf courses and fund raising.
Then again,, Since Harry Reid hasn't let hardly a Bill make it to "O"'s desk,, no work to be done there.. ( Damn... Forgot about those executive orders for Congressional end running)

Paul, even with good 3rd parties, there is a "lesser of two evils" choice to make.
For example... the late Harry Browne. Nice enough guy, and I voted for him once despite being a bit lightweight for a Presidential run (call me ultramodern, but I think the time has passed to elect a president who only has a high school diploma). IMHO he would not have been competent in the office. Vote for him? Once? Twice? Thrice?
I chose one and done. Time to move on.

Paul - as much as I don't like the policies of many lefties, I don't consider them all evil. And as much as I admire many Rs, I know others that should be put in jail. But I take the time to try to determine each individual according to his or her actions.
I would suggest you stop acting like a bigoted fool and try to not paint everyone with the same brush. But of course that would involve intelligence and diligence. Something bigots have little of.

The phrase Lesser of two evils doesn't literally mean evils, Paul.
Posted by: Gregory | 11 April 2014 at 12:35 AM
For all intensive purposes, yes it does Gregory.

Michael, you poor thing, of course it doesn't.
On another front, do you think Obama got rid of Sibelius in time?

Eric Holder, the bitch of Marc Rich, was so whiny the other day I almost felt sorry for him. He thinks anyone who asks him tough questions, like Louie Gohmert from Texas, is a racist. My goodness, I saw all this crap attitude by these people when the election happened in 2009.But, with a lap dog guilt ridden liberal run media bunch of stenographers, he and Obama get away with it. America needs to get back on track and elect people who are leaders and not these whiny babies there now.

Paul has reduced himself to "troll" status. Taking lessons from Joe?

The ECO gang is waiting with baited breath over in Nev. They can't wait for the government goons to lay low a rancher or two.
Even a LIB politician stated that " they better have funeral arrangements made".
Yes, Tyranny has made a come back.

The suffering imposed on the peoples of the world due to the imperialistic policies of the Republicrats is indeed Evil in the biblical sense.

"imperialistic policies of the Republicrats" Really Paul?
Get a load of this. Now we know what the Nevada cow chase is really about.
http://www.infowars.com/breaking-sen-harry-reid-behind-blm-land-grab-of-bundy-ranch/
"Deleted from BLM.gov but reposted for prosperity by the Free Republic, the BLM document entitled “Cattle Trespass Impacts” directly states that Bundy’s cattle “impacts” solar development, more specifically the construction of “utility-scale solar power generation facilities” on “public lands.” "
The same "endangered" critter didn't stop another solar farm from being built.

Definition of Imperialism
1. The policy of extending a nation's authority by territorial acquisition or by the establishment of economic and political hegemony over other nations.
2. The system, policies, or practices of such a government.
Any other questions?

Free Ranger Bundy knows that he does not own the BLM land his cow graze upon. And he used to pay fees and abide by the rules. Apparently, he got lonely for some attention so he decided to raise some hell.
But, as long as he pays no fees, he is really just a welfare cowboy since his cows graze at the public trough. 900 hundred head at $2,000/head...looks like he probably could afford to feed them.

Paul.. You just summed up the Obummer administration, and it's actions against U.S. citizens.
Brad... The news is out just WHY those cows "gotta go".
" BLM report entitled Regional Mitigation Strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone (BLM Technical Note 444) reveals that Bundy’s land in question is within the “Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone and surrounding area” which is part of a broad U.S. Department of Energy program for “Solar Energy Development in Six Southwestern States” on land “managed” by BLM."
It's not just BLM land... they want HIS too.
It has "jack" to do with an "endangered critter". Cows have no interest in a turtle. They don't go out of their way to stomp on one. Funny.. Not even a claim a cow killed one.
but HAY!! pave the place over for overpriced solar for a foreign entity.
Yet those cows are doing SO much damage.... Right?
BTW ,, spending 3 million for a "one million" debt makes perfect sense.

Doc. Some people in the Nev. "ordeal" are calling this another step in the "Agenda 21" direction. They may be right...
Seems the FEDS took a page out of LIB collage BS.. " free speech zones"
A fenced off 20x20 box... There were two of them... But "protests" could only be conducted at "one" box at a time.
In the middle of the desert?? Really??? I don't recall reading in the 1ST Amendment about any "government approved" zoneage...
Now the air space has been closed to media, If this operation was on the up and up, why the "blackout"?
This has nothing to do with an endangered critter. The ECO gang snuffed more of these turtles, than any cow when their funding for the "refuge" ran out.
