Have you tried Lucille's?

Started strong but recently they seem like they're mailing it in. Maybe you lose your edge when the entire eastern Sacramento Valley is waiting to get in every weekend.

Todd Juvinall

Never heard of Lucille's. What kind of food?

I just discovered brisket in San Jose last week at my grand daughters graduation from San Jose State. I am a fan now.

Walt

Nailed the pork loin. Even the Mrs. likes it. ( She's of Jewish decent.)
Off to give half to the cherry wood supplier.

It's Turkey next....

I'm sorry to hear that. My daughter and son-in-law took me there a couple of birthdays ago and I enjoyed it very much.

Russ Steele

I agree with fish, Lucille's seems to lost it's edge. Our last visit was a big disappointment.

Locally try Smiiey Guy's in the old Brier Patch building. Good beer, good brisket and fantastic french fries.

The thing I like about Facebook for business Michael is that we control the content and the access to post---so I simply answered Mr. Juvinall, by banning him :)

Russ Steele

Walt,

We did a turkey forThanksgiving on the BBQ. Brined the bird over night, then put it on the BBQ rotisserie. It was the most awesome bird we have ever eaten at our house. Will do it again this coming year.

Russ Steele

Steven,

Proving once again there is no such thing as free speech on lefty blogs, Facebook pages or twitter sites. They are giant echo chambers, void of any contrary ideas or thought.

A couple of birthday ago it was better! It's not bad....and it's not just Lucilles almost every place tapers off after a while!

Posted by: Russ Steele | 29 May 2015 at 04:34 PM

To be fair Russ, it is I believe, a business blog and even though I freely admit to not "getting" the SBC.....it's still a business blog.

Plenty of places to argue out there.

Don Bessee

joh-Frisch & lefty jeffy manage speech like Dr. Gobbles, the ASA spins like him too. I agree Russ, Smiley guys has great fries and other things, when they get more consistent they will rock. I was happy the NEO center took that old building across the parking lot. That should help the Smiley gang a bit too. OK OK. Who saw the report from California Cooperative Snow Surveys? Every station reports ZERO snow.

Todd Juvinall

I asked for an accounting of the China trip was all I posted. Frisch is just a liberal chicken and not too smart as well.

Todd Juvinall

Russ is correct, Frisch and his troll pals are not tossed from here or other conservative blogs. They are truly against free speech.

steven frisch

Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 29 May 2015 at 04:55 PM

And I asked for an accounting of how you square your multiple divorces and domestic disputes with your professed Christian theology Todd, but I don;t expect and answer.
I have absolutely nothing to account to you for nor you me.

Russ, you must not actually understand free speech protections, it is to protect the individual from government intervention not to protect the individual from being censored by their peers. Perhaps when y'all actually understand the Constitution there will be something to talk about. Until then you are just pissing in the wind.

Walt

Slow cook is the way to go. SCREW the electric oven. Open fire and smoke is the carnivore's
friend. Yup,, sex for the taste buds.

Russ,, I have 2 rotisseries. One, is built in place, and can take just about anything you can throw at it,,( up to a good sized dog, for those into Chinese cooking)
and one that is portable, the size of a large briefcase. A BATT. operated motor does the job. Great for a chicken or small prime rib. What's cool about it, is that it heats from the side, and not the bottom. All stainless steal. I can't even find another one like it.
I have been looking all over the net for years to find another.
It looks like an aircraft engineer made the thing in his spare time. Not even a patent mark.
I may nee to take it to a metal shop to see how much it would cost to replicate.

Yup,, I have a new hobby.
I will need taste testers.... Uh,, any volunteers???
Got a killer seasoning mix? Send it my way.

What does my personal life marriage have to do with asking you for an accounting of your taxpayer funded trip to Red China? I think you may have gone over the top and your noggin is clouded.

As a "non-profit" (;pys of chuckles), you are responsible to post our financial info so I suppose I will have to ask the IRS and the Franchise Tax Board and State Corporations to investigate you and your SBC. Looks like a scam to me. You are coming across as the Bernie Madoff of the Sierra Nevada.

steven frisch

Todd, you big sack of crap, what makes you think my trip to Mongolia and China was taxpayer funded? You have no evidence of that and no way of knowing. My travel is as much my personal life as your multiple marriages are yours.

Every required financial disclosure the organization I work for is required to file has been filed on time and triple checked.

Finally, you go right ahead and demand all you want....if even one tiny piece of your harassment harms me or my organization in any way I will sue your sorry ass so fast it will make you 80 IQ head spin.

Todd Juvinall

What a hoot there Steve Frisch. You went to Red China and extolled its virtues and told everyone it was not a personal trip. Just tell us who paid for it , the itinerary, and what amount was spent. Pretty simple. Why are you hiding the facts?

I really don't think asking the IRS and the Franchise tax board to review a taxpayer funded organization like yours would be considered "harassment". Go ahead and sue me and I will own everything you have. You seem to be hiding things and that is what got Bernie Madoff a hundred years in the clink. You should not be so quick to threaten.

Besides, I have not brought up your failure to pay your employees taxes to the tune of $250,000 and all the local state and federal tax leins against you. All in the public record, just like my marriage.

Don Bessee

Ok, now Frisch is channeling lefty jeffy to full effect! LOL ;-) litigiousness pattie? Are we not equal in our rights? I am unclear who it really is since there is a 'you 80iq' v your.....hmmmm.

Todd Juvinall

DonB, he is really the 80 IQ. LOL!

Walt

Someone it taking notes from the Clintons. That's a " non profit" too.
I recall the brags of that trip too. Something along the lines of teaching our bond holders
how to be more "eco". Or was it high tech worm farms?
Did he try the BBQ cat while there?
When our Son's significant other is here ( Chinese) cat, and food, are never used in the same sentence. I have to take inventory of our cats before they leave.

Walt

Anyone remember the Seattle group that was demanding the huge minimum wadge increase?
They got their wish, and then demanded exemption from it.. I'm sure some recall.
Well here we go again. Those demanding it demand exemption.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/05/29/unions-seek-exemption-from-la-minimum-wage-law-helped-pass/?intcmp=latestnews
Just like the same game when pushing for Obummercare.
What is it with LIBS? The high cost is for "the other guy" to pay.
If I ever open a BBQ stand, I will have a two tiered price list. One for Conservatives, and one for LIBS. LIBS will pay 30% more. Think a LIB would stay true to his convictions? Or LIE through his tooth to pay less? It sure would be fun to see the Conservative who KNOWS the other guy is a LIB and rat him out.

Gregory

After hanging out here incessantly for days on end, it does appear "Jon" has taken a powder right when our pal Steve came back. I guess that urge to harass the non-left-wingers was satisfied vicariously by watching Frisch flailing.

I'd make a superhero and mild mannered alter ego reference here, but The Tick didn't have an alter ego for "Jon" to be compared to.

Jon

You are truly clueless, "Gregory." With the exception of my playful banter with your interesting friend named "Walt" I've never set out to attack anyone, just challenge right wing groupthink. This board, with a reputation for supposed intelligent right wing discussion, turns out to be filled with a collection of clowns and freaks that would make the current Republican primary field look like a group of rational thinkers. Truly a Star Wars bar scene, western Nevada County style. Anything that challenges the orthodoxy of the Faux News/Rush world seems to elicit every conceivable manner of bizarre right wing neurotica. A true science lab of freaks.

Best of luck boys. You are doomed to perpetual frustration in life.

Gregory

Sorry, "Jon", but I'm not right wing and while I do turn on Limbaugh on occasion to find out what Republicans think from the mouth of a Republican, I listen to both NPR and BBC Worldservice more hours, and I've found what you call "Faux News" generally plays about the same as other mainstream media just without the snark that even NPR and PBS has a hard time evading. Your problem is that they don't leave out the bits that you don't want to know about.

Perhaps if you didn't try that "playful banter" snark and tried to be a supposed intelligent left winger without the sarcasm, it would turn out different.

That message is also for The Tick.

Paul Emery

Agreed Jon. This blog has turned into a bit of a circle jerk or at best a chest thumping festival. It's too bad because it has a lot of potential to really have interesting dialogue between differences of opinion I don't spend much time here anymore. Most of the contributors are too taciturn for meangfull dialogue.

I really enjoy conversations with independent thinking people of all persuasions Mostly this group consists of republican apologists. Even George seems to be staying away from the dialogue once it gets to be too stupid

I'm in Portland for a few days , an intelligently managed very progressive city.

Almost as difficult to hold a dialogue with the silent contributors as with the guys who don't know what the words mean.

And then predictably.....

I really enjoy conversations with independent thinking people of all persuasions Mostly this group consists of republican apologists. Even George seems to be staying away from the dialogue once it gets to be too stupid

I hear this from you proggy mouth breathers all the time; "I really enjoy conversations with independent thinking people of all persuasions....." I'm sure you do...... as long as those conversations don't pull you out of your comfort zone and you can eventually steer the discussion in a direction towards your pet cause or cherished belief. Sorry you've been less than successful here Paul.

I'm in Portland for a few days , an intelligently managed very progressive city.

I had a full fisking prepared but I'm not gonna do it......you are such a transparent "jeffy" jon that even I'm getting bored at your vaporous nonsense.

fish

If I ever open a BBQ stand, I will have a two tiered price list. One for Conservatives, and one for LIBS. LIBS will pay 30% more.

People have tried this on college campuses before...the howls of "Injustice"....."Privilege"......etc. are deafening!

fish

Anything that challenges the orthodoxy of the Faux News/Rush world seems to elicit every conceivable manner of bizarre right wing neurotica. A true science lab of freaks.

Almost forgot......"Neurotica"?

Really......for a guy who loathes typos and clings to his vaunted credentials like a drowning man in the ocean clings to anything that floats you sure do screw up the language on a regular basis. The word I believe you are looking for is "neuroses", plural of neurosis.

neu·ro·sis

n(y)o͝oˈrōsəs/

noun MEDICINE

plural noun: neuroses

a relatively mild mental illness that is not caused by organic disease, involving symptoms of stress (depression, anxiety, obsessive behavior, hypochondria) but not a radical loss of touch with reality. Compare with psychosis.

synonyms: mental illness, mental disorder, psychological disorder; More
(in nontechnical use) excessive and irrational anxiety or obsession.
"apprehension over mounting debt has created a collective neurosis in the business world"

Neurotic means something quite different.....but then you already knew that didn't you.

Don't click the link unless you can control your gag reflex!

Walt

Fish,, It may have been done before,, but LIBS like to drive up prices, so why not have them pay more honestly? And just to torque off the Leftys a little more, I would claim to use, used car tires in the smoker. ( anyone with a lick of sense would know better)

Well bless "jons" little heart. Just out to play is about right. So just who let his alter ego out this morning? ( One disappears the other shows up as usual)

Enjoy Proglandia Paul!

Gregory

Paul, the last 'interesting dialog' you were beating the brush for was what folks here thought of the TPP that Obama was keeping secret while it was being negotiated... It's hard to discuss something before it's made public, and you seemed unwilling to wait until it was public to discuss it.

That seemed pretty uninteresting. There wasn't any final bill, and for once, the least transparent administration in history actually did have a halfway good reason for opacity... the President gets to negotiate with foreign governments, not the Congress. The Congress just has an up or down vote on the result.

Have a brew at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse for me.

Walt

Paul.. In reference to your earlier comment,, one could say that you could be the "pivot man". You have done your fair share of "jerking" people around. Never answer questions, unless with another question,, if that fails, change the subject. ( then there is the flat out denial a question was ever asked.)

Maybe THIS is who "jon" is.

Jon

Paul and Steve,
You couldn't invent a board full of characters like this if you tried.

Walt, truth be told- I'm actually the pilot of that plane you are following out of Beale, circling around Penn Valley and Yuba City, day after day after day. I've been monitoring movements of Penn Valley residents, particularly all the trips down to Walmart and back.

That is true Jon, satire at its best.

Walt

LOL!! The same guy talking to himself. Steve is "jon",,,"jon" is Steve. ( Or is it Jeffy?)

Yup,, it figures that "you" could be that pilot. All you can do is bank "Left" for hours and go nowhere fast.
I'm surprised LIBS haven't demanded NASCAR to race clockwise, because most rednecks are Conservative.

Jon

Walt, I'm actually an amalgamation of both Steve and Jeff. But more importantly yes Walt, it was me in the plane. To be totally frank, I am associated with the Federal project that you've probably read about- Jade Helm- own in Texas. My specific agency is assigned to monitor the habits and details of people who shop at Walmart and report back to the main agency in preparation for the larger actions to come. I'm with the Central/NorCal branch. We operate civilian planes out of Air Force facilities so as not to attract too much attention. Yeah you caught me on your monitoring website.

Jon

BTW, bravo to Rand Paul for his Senate action today.

Walt

What a crock of crap. Good thing I wear boots. Yup,, "jon" is right. (as in crapper)
Someone change that blue water between "jon's" ears.
Back under the bridge,,,,,TROLL.....

Jon

Really Walt, you think what I told you is a crock? OK, believe what you want. But I do have a treasure trove of data on the stuff purchased at the Linda Walmart, and believe me- its really, really interesting. Very valuable to my team.

Walt

Yeah it's all fun and games for progressives slumming with the libertarian candidate until you get to domestic policies. Then it's "Nazi" this, and "Balancing the budget on the backs of the poor" that! And let's be honest...you'd never bring a Rand Paul home to meet your mother...."He's simply not our kind dear"!

As an aside Paul....you're off to Portland....any plans to visit the other "intelligently managed very progressive cities"......Camden NJ, Baltimore, Philly, I understand that Chicago is going to be very festive later this year when the financial shit hits the fan.

You should consider it....for balance!

Todd Juvinall

Fish did I read that Portland was NK? All those programs for the po folks has hit the fan. But hey, they have the most strident zoning in America next to Manhattan. You go getum Paul Emery. While you are there please check out the tax and fee burdens of those Portlandia citizens. I am told California is a bargain compared to it.

I see the Truckee Troll Steve Frisch was depositing here again. Jeeze, how can a man so self important and self intelligent stoop to coming here and mixing it up with lesser being? I mean, hey tax dodging and all, the man is just way smarter than anyone here, or so he says!

Paul Emery leaves a few droppings here too and as Walt says, nothing good can come of trying to debate the LA Dodger!.

Walt

Back to a Ca. problem... WATER... Seems the EPA and friends are hell bent on more ethanol
mix in our gas tanks. Nevermind that corn is a BIG water user. Then I run across this.
http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2015/05/07/3654392/corn-ethanol-illegal/

Even the sane (yes,, there are a few) ECO folk call for and end to ethanal.
It takes more energy and resources than what it puts out in return.
A since when is burning food as fuel a great idea?

Keep ethanal for it's intended use. Drinking.

Jon

Paul, exactly. Near silence on Rand Paul's stand against the Patriot Act, the single largest intrusion by the Federal government in American history. Where are the anti-government voices of the right?

George Rebane

Jon 402pm - don't know the whereabouts of the anti-government voices (in fact, I haven't read any voices here that are against having a government), but I do know what a conservetarian thinks about America's ability to project force globally. As we pull back again into our isolationist shell, and just concern ourselves with our coastal waters, we invite what is happening at great speed in Russia and China. The 'savings' in not being able to project globally always come home to roost at a terrible price that turns out to have been no savings at all. We will see it soon in the Far East as our Asian pivot turns into another poorly executed Obama divot. And for that reason alone, this conservetarian will be looking beyond Rand Paul.

Todd Juvinall

"jonnie" we have to have a government so where are those anti's you are talking about? Maybe at the DailyKos or "Progressives United"?

I am not to keen on taking off my shoes at the airport but if the same care is taken at the planes belly, I guess I can put up with it. Regarding the government listening in on conversations. They say they don't unless you are a terrorist threat. Is that right? So if so, why would you be against that?

Rand Paul's world view is just like his dad's and I disagree with it. I am surprised that you libs who are always lecturing us on "one world", or think globally act locally (or vice-versa), do not have the same feelings about ISIL and Islamic terroists overruninng the place. Why is that?

fish

Funny....your health care costs....getting progressively higher!

Well smartass "jon",, you tell us. With all the domestic spying and not one terrorist caught. Not even the ones who tried to shoot up a cartoon drawing event.
"They" say after the fact,, that "they were on their radar". Yaaaa.

Your boy "O" is a paper tiger and all the bad guys know it. Even China is flexing it's new found might, because they know "O" is nutless.
We sure showed Putin who's boss, didn't we?

Then of course, trading 5 terrorists for one traitor. LIBS just can't wait to have the fighting in our own streets.

Jon

Wow Walt that's quite a list of nations where you want to take the fight to the bad guys. You'd open several fronts, ha? Where would you send in ground troops first? Or would you order bombing missions in multiple nations? How would you structure the inevitable draft? Come on there General Dirtmover. Talk is cheap for you War Hawks.

Russ Steele

Quote of the day:

Weird, all 3 Dem candidates keep talking about how things have gotten worse over past seven years. This seems newsworthy.

Bill Tozer

Good one Mr.Steele. Gov. M threw his hat into the ring today to challenge the old aging incapable of multi-tasking broad. Heck, she can't even handle 2 e-mail accounts and wants us to vote her in as the Leader of the Free World.

Gov. M's campaign slogan is Time For New Leadership. The Clinton campaign is pissed off cause by inference, Hillary is part of the old leadership. Wonder how much she will pay him to walk away? Ole Bubba Bil Clinton, the Man from Hope, paid Jesse Jackson a few million to drop out of sight. Jesse has his priorities, and it wasn't no Rainbow Colilation.. He snatched the cash and skedaddled off the map.

Time for new leadership is right. It only took Obama less than 7 years to rip this country apart, a new record. That be old leadership, just like Jesse and Bill, Jet Setting Barry, and that brilliant old broad (the smartest woman in America) who flunked the Bar Exam and moved to AK. Billy got her a job sitting on the Board of Wal-Mart....

Hmmm, who called the former First Lady the smartest lady in America? Was it not former Speaker Dan R. from the bankrupt state of Illinois? Does anybody know if he is still alive, or did he die in prison? Well, his checks never stopped coming in due to his service to our country. Under him, we all got serviced, screwed, blued, dipped, and tattooed. That be old leadership. Hillary is more dank than skank.

Walt

Really "jonney" boy.. President nutless has done a bang up job in foreign affairs.
All those "red lines" drawn in water color before the rain storm.
You think Europe and Japan would be what they are today (peace wise) if the U.S. had dragged everyone home after the surrenders of WWII? Free Europe would be in Russian hands,
and full blown Red Commie. Or even worse, what the Middle East is right now. OH JOY...
LIBS are real good at losing conflicts, and setting the world on fire.
China see "O" for what he is, and has grown a pair, and looking to land grab just like Russia.
How bout all those Russian bombers testing everyone's air space? The last one up North, we didn't even send planes up.

HELL! The military is even moving back into cheyenne mt. due to fears of an EMP attack.
( look into that smart guy)
"O" and Co. are too busy going after political enemies here at home. nevermind the ones out to do the U.S. harm.

That's why LIBS are done come the next election. And the chances of a LIB getting elected President for decades to come will be slim to none. The nation is done with LIBS in general. The last three elections should give you a clue.

Paul Emery

So who are they going to vote in Walt? Be brave!! Give us a name.

Jon

Walt, 2 elections back was in 2012. How did the Republicans do- Congressional, Senate and Presidential?

And how about some foreign policy specifics and proposed ways to counter all those bad guys you point out. At least George Pataki has proposed a full shipment of US ground troops into the Middle East. Are you a Pataki backer? Whats he polling at these days?

Bill Tozer

Well, here is another example of why the Gang Who Couldn't Shoot Straight fail so miserably when it comes to foreign policy.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/kerry-suffers-leg-injury-in-bicycle-accident-transported-to-hospital/2015/05/31/24bd2630-077a-11e5-a7ad-b430fc1d3f5c_story.html

He should have stuck with windsurfing.

Jon

Walt, if you don't really know who Pataki is, you can also get behind tough guy Chicken Haw Rick Santorum, who also proposes ground troops in Syria and Iraq to fight ISIS mano-o-mano. What a brave American that Santorum. Oh wait, has Santorum won an election in the last 15 years for anything? May be a slight problem for Rick.

Jon

Tozer, Kerry is a real life SNL skit when it comes to sports injuries. Swimming might be more his style.

Bill Tozer

Mr. Jon. So, it has come to this.

http://www.moviesoundclips.net/sound-clip.php?id=3617

Bill Tozer

I knew it, I just knew it. The times they are a' hanging. I noticed it about 12 years ago when a friend raided my boxer shorts to wear...in public!! She was a trend setter. And the daughters started raiding my underwear drawer as well. More trend setters. I had to switch to tightly whities so my drawer would not be empty getting ready for work and kissed my boxer shorts goodbye. Now my briefs are being threatened. Guess that makes me a trend setter as well.

Walt

LOL.. LIBS save a seat or two, and yell "victory".
Nevermind the fact that the Tea Party swept the nation at the local levels, save for a few islands of blue here and there.
But keep that LIB chin up "jon",, come next election it's going to get another good smack.

Gotta love the two faced LIB. If a REP. had said what Bernie Sanders did, there would be hell to pay.

George Boardman

Maybe it was past his bedtime, but Walt showed a shaky grasp of history when he write at 10:53 PM that "LIBS are real good at losing conflicts..."

The last time I checked, Wilson (WWI) and FDR (WWII) were Democrats, while Nixon (Vietnam) was a Republican. Then there's Bush II's declaration of mission accomplished in Iraq in 2003. How did work out, Walt?

Jon

George,
You just gotta love the nervous LOL Walt put up when his ridiculous proclamation about elections and leaders gets smacked down.

Let it be said again- Walt sticks to his principles, even if his statements lack one iota of merit! He will never let reality interfere with the RightWingBlogNetwork narrative.

Jon

Walt or Todd,
I know, I know, the narrative is that Romney lost in 2012 because he the base stayed home.
OK, but can you give us ONE example of a Romney position in 2012 that was less than conservative? List the moderate positions he staked out please. Thanks.

George Rebane

GeorgeB 1122am & Jon 1150am - Before you dun Walt's reading of history (didn't know he was referring to wars), let's remember that the Vietnam mess belonged to JFK and LBJ. Nixon ran on getting our troops out of Vietnam's civil war and did so in 1973 (Saigon fell in 1975). And Bush2 left Obama with a stable Iraq, and a military policy for keeping it stable to support a rational withdrawal plan that would not invite every raghead within 500 miles to attack Iraq. How did that work out for that master of foreign policy now in WH??

Larry Wirth

Steve F, from way upthread: Telling Todd that he "has no and cannot get any evidence" that the recent Asian jaunt was paid for by taxpayers doesn't amount to an actual denial. To a logical mind, it looks like an admission.

For more detail, see recent comments by Clintonista spokespersons. L

Todd Juvinall

"Jon" America has unfortunately been involved in many "conflicts" some good some bad. Liberals have shown no guts in the historic record of fighting and winning very often. President Wilson was responsible for America's entry into WW1 during the last year and half of that war. He was forced to because the Germans were sinking our ships. I applaud Wilson for doing the right thing but you will never applaud a Republican or a conservative for doing the right thing because you are the true ideologue. Tell us "Jon" if you support the "Monroe Doctrine". Also, do you believe the "Gadsden Purchase" was a good thing for the country? I am sure there will be crickets.

Larry Wirth 12:03 PM
You are correct. The reason this comes up about Frisch and the taxpayers paying for his Red China trip (an he extolled their virtues upon return) is he told the world. Now it appears he is hiding the truth by not accounting for the trip and its expenses. He is in the "Clinton" world of non-profits it seems.

Paul Emery

George

Bush left Iraq with Nouri al-Maliki as Prime Minister. Stable Iraq? You must be kidding

George Rebane

PaulE 146pm - Stable Iraq indeed, and one which even Obama would give his left nut to have today instead of ISIS owning half of the country. (Not to worry about that left nut, he is burdened by neither.)

Walt

Yes, Nixon had to throw in the towel and bring U.S. troops home in defeat, since DEM. armchair generals in the previous DEM Administration tied the troops hands.
Do some need a reminder of how that game was played? The "wizz kids" and counting bullets?
No need for guns in fighter jets because we had missiles? Then there was telling Hanoi just where we would strike next? Taking ground, just to give it back the next day. (over and over again) Just a few examples. Oh,, and the same point in time where lawyers got in on the action.
Yes,, ever since then it was down hill when LIBS ran conflicts. The ONLY time things got at least half way accomplished is when Repubs were in charge.
Them moment a LIB got in the W.H. the current conflict went to hell in a handbasket.
fast forward to "O".(The Father of ISIS) Bush left Baghdad streets safer than Detroit's, and look what has changed since "O" did his thing. The whole Middle East is on fire.
Every Commie empire is sabor rattling, looking to stick it to us.

Yaa.. tell me again LIBS know how to win wars. ( tucking tail and running is not winning)

Paul Emery

George you seem to forget that Bush signed an agreement to leave a rack by 2011 and Malachi demanded that that happened. Obama was only following Bushes agreement.

The U.S.–Iraq Status of Forces Agreement (official name: Agreement Between the United States of America and the Republic of Iraq On the Withdrawal of United States Forces from Iraq and the Organization of Their Activities during Their Temporary Presence in Iraq) was a status of forces agreement (SOFA) between Iraq and the United "States, signed by President George W. Bush in 2008. It established that U.S. combat forces would withdraw from Iraqi cities by June 30, 2009, and all U.S. combat forces will be completely out of Iraq by December 31, 2011.[1] The pact required criminal charges for holding prisoners over 24 hours, and required a warrant for searches of homes and buildings that were not related to combat.[1] U.S. contractors working for U.S. forces would have been subject to Iraqi criminal law, while contractors working for the State Department and other U.S. agencies would retain their immunity. If U.S. forces committed still undecided "major premeditated felonies" while off-duty and off-base, they would have been subjected to an undecided procedures laid out by a joint U.S.-Iraq committee if the U.S. certified the forces were off-duty.[2][3][1][4]"

That was pasted as best I can from my iPad

Jon

The rewriting of history here is astounding. Walt- no suprise. The troops hands were tied in Vietnam? What did they really want to do, Walt? I'm fascinated with your personal version of events.

George Rebane

PaulE 226pm - To claim that Bush2's agreement with Malaki somehow tied our hands is ludicrous. Both sides knew the 2008 agreement was a political showpiece for their respective constituencies. The real decision would be made three years later, at which time Obama was in office and Maliki was already pleading that Americans not abandon Iraq completely. But it served Obama's promises and purposes to withdraw from the middle east, which withdrawal was halted when Iraq became unstable and the situation in post-withdrawal Afghanistan promised to reprise Iraq.

In the meantime Obama was promising a 'pivot to Asia' which has not gone all that well given how his leadership has been assessed and advantaged by Putin, Khamenei, and Xi.

Don Bessee

'jon' or whatever is clearly devoid of any historical perspective on the indo-china wars. Go read some actual history, something other that hufpo and you could perhaps gain some knowledge. Then you would not have to dribble your lefty dogma talking points so pathetically.

George Rebane

Readers will again note the almost diametrically opposite understandings of history that contribute to the division between the Right and Left. Without even a partially shared view of our past, how are we to join in planning our communal future?

Todd Juvinall

Jonnie and Paul Emery never answer the questions from the posters here yet are always asking us, chastising us, for answering theirs! I mean, come on, can liberals be that ridiculous?

Vietnam was ended by Republicans and all those brave men and women who perished there were canon fodder for the left. I bet they, the lefties here, will spin it in the opposite.

Jon

Vietnam was a cluster, a mistake by our nation. PERIOD. Inept politicians who were terrified of the red threat in that region. Both parties are at fault for getting us in there. To think it was some kind of liberal or conservative blame is to misread the history books. It took way too many lives, friends and neighbors before we figured it out. Thank God for the liberal young people on college campuses for making the push to end the madness. War Hawks and Republicans weren't going to do it.

Jon

Wow, reading the latest in the Senate, it looks like Rand Paul is going to force some big changes in the Patriot Act, finally some restrictions on the violation of privacy rights.

Bill Tozer

Straying way off course on into the thick mud of domestic issues, anyone with two brain cells left to rub together could see this coming a mile away. Yes, policies have consequences.

Todd Juvinall

Vietnam was started by libs and ended by conservatives. That is a fact Jack.

Don Bessee

So insightful straw 'jon'. Your latest compounds your ignorance of the actual pieces that were in motion in the real world. What I loved is that when Reagan's strategic plan crushed the wall we got all the files in the revolutions, files with signatures for money the Evil Empire flowed into 'causes' in that time frame. Goggle break.

Todd Juvinall

DonB, those KGB files even proved McCarthy was right.

Walt

"jon" was clearly reading from the book of revisionism. Not one fact from the "jon".
All he spews comes right from Berkeley.

Now on another note, Eric holder(2.0) in a skirt is up to the same old Lefty tricks.
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/05/31/obamas-doj-to-circumvent-congress-with-more-than-a-dozen-new-gun-controls/

I wonder how many gun loving LIBS will lose their right to have a gun overnight.

There is plenty in the news about LIB shenanigans. These guys have plenty (breitbart.com)
for or resident LIBS to chew on.
From Hillary's "above the law" cash, ( nope our LIBS won't touch that one) to ISIS gaining ground. ( Nope,, won't deal with that one either.)

Life is good on their Unicorn ranch.

fish

I am in heaven......internecine democratic carnage......15 months of pure bliss!

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/01/us/politics/challenging-hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-gains-momentum-in-iowa.html?_r=0

Todd Juvinall

Fish, I am so looking forward to the democrat debates. Bernie the perv v Hillary the shyster. Maybe O'Malley the crapola Mayor too!

Gregory

McNamara was Kennedy & LBJ's guy, big government 'we're smarter than you' liberal. San Francisco, UC Berkeley. The one who came up with the limited engagement, throw enough American boys at the problem so the USSR (North Vietnam was a Soviet client state) would know we meant business, but not so many that China (who pasted us during the Korean War when we got too close to their border when punishing the North Koreans who had decided the weather was nicer in the South).

The noisy "liberals" on campuses were not liberal pacifists, they were trying to foment revolution. Think Ayres and Dohrn and the Weathermen. "The only reason they were not guilty of mass murder is mere incompetence. I don't know what sort of defense that is."

Jon

If not for the uprisings on college campuses along with common acceptance of the young rejecting authority, we would likely have been mired in Vietnam for another 10 years. What was going to stop it- conservative Congressmen and Senators? Not exactly.

Jon

"Your latest compounds your ignorance of the actual pieces that were in motion in the real world".

SAY WHAT...? Translation please. Don, what gets into you after 7PM?

Walt

That's all ya' can come up with "jon"? The word "pathetic" comes into play.
Like I said. LIBS sure know how to lose conflicts. "O" is no exception.
Hell! He is even willing to give Iran nukes! "O" steps in front of a microphone and tells America one thing ( all bullshit) and we get the real story from Iran. ( and the W.H. backpedals)

The way things are going, LIBS WILL have their way,, and we will be fighting the Islamist extremists right here in our own streets. Thank GOD there are plenty of rednecks who know how to shoot. We sure can't count on the cowardly hippie.

Don Bessee

Hmmmm lefty jeffy or proxies failing to address the issues again. What common acceptance, acceptance where, by whom? LOL! You have yet to substantiate with something other than gibberish. Translation, wee jon has no education beyond rhetoric and none on the subject and has to divert yet again from the point at hand. Troll on wee boy troll on... Sorry its too tough for you to have to correlate geopolitical issues that may take real historical knowledge beyond the party line you suckled on.

Bill Tozer

Mr. Walt said recently "The way things are going, libs will have their way". Totally agree. But, Mr. Walt, we all can sleep soundly now. The Libs got their wish.

nothing can stop the Libholes now. Nothing, except one small piece of parchment, maybe.

Walt

That's pretty much the way it is Bill.
Good finds... Funny.. Every time "jon" tries to insult this ditch digger's intelligence,
it backfires. No wonder he doesn't have the guts to post under his real name. I'm sure
a new "AKA" will show up soon.
Now back to the waves in Maui.
