Well, depends who you ask, Dr. Rebane. The FBI is seething mad about O spouting no National Security risk while the evidence and combing through Hillary Rodclam's web of deceit ain't even over. Might just be cranking up.
The Good Side (Dem Nat'l Party) takes that as a semi-endorsement of the e-mail thang. No harm, no foul.....yet. Not about Benghazi no more as the forensic specialists are on to more important things of true National Security threats of who sent top secret stuff over a basically unsecured system and the ole what, when, why, and to what extent.
I take O's statement as a two edged sword. First, he said Rodclam' did bad things, which is not a defense of her. Then he said what she did ain't all that horrible bad, knowing full well that the wheels are in motion and he, as Pilate did before Jesus, decided to wash his hands of the whole matter. Let her dangle in the wind and see what the FBI forwards as recommendations to Loretta Lynch.

Will Loretta Lynch become the new Janet Waco Reno and take the fall if Obama gives Rodham the thumbs up, or will Valerie give Mrs. Bill Clinton the thumbs down to protect her boss's legacy? Stay tuned for the next episode of Days Of Our Lies.
And now, a word from our sponsor: "Do you have iron poor blood?............."

Happy guy!

Oh sure they did, and I bet they sat down and discussed what dress wouldn't make her look fat in the debate. while coming each others hair.....

Bill Tozer

Well, she does have fat ankles, but that has nothing to do with what Rodham brought on by the actions and decisions she, and she alone, made to handle communications as the Nations top diplomat. No one to blame except the Happy Gal in the mirror.

Best analysis of the landscape I have read in a long time. Fair and balanced. No wonder jon took his ball and went home.

Right on time. Now George Board man has picked up the anti gun torch.
Right along with the rest of the anti gun blowhards, points to "studies" and evil Repubs who protected the citizens rights.
Board man didn't mention that NO law would have stopped any shooting. The trigger pullers had NO RECORDS that would have stopped the sale of a gun. Except in ONE case where the FEDS dropped the ball.

According to the gun grabbers line of thinking, Places like PV and Rough&Ready should be killing fields. There are guns in every home.(Plenty of them) So what's wrong with that picture?
The likes of George Board man NEVER bring up the streets of Chicago (where legal gun ownership is the real crime) and the city block of anti gun laws on the books.
In one week, let alone one weekend more people are killed than in any "mass shooting".
There it's just continuous. Yer Sir,, all those anti gun laws there are working out just swell.
Take a nice walk in the windy city Board man, The city with a thousand gun laws you like so much. Anti gun laws make you safe.

Bill Tozer

Oh Walt, that is so old school. Like 1776 type of talk. You need to go to indoctrination class to become reeducated on matters of "shall not be infringed." That does not really mean what you think it says.

Got a New Man. He's a Dem to boot. I have an open mind cause I be schooled in reeducation camps.

Bill Tozer

Haven't read Mr. Boardman's column yet, but I am sure it is thoughtful.
With that said, every single mass shooting (mass murder) that has been wrought upon us has been in gun free zones, with the expection of one or two tragedies.
Reading what the wing nuts wrote on social media or left in journals at their abodes for police to find later, one eerie theme emerges. The killers all wanted to carry out their plans without meeting opposition or being stopped, thus the facilities they chose were places where they would not be stopped by deadly force.

George Rebane

Yes indeed, that was a classical hit piece on the 2nd Amendment by Mr George Boardman, right down to the usual omissions and dubious stats. The gun grabbers' perennial argument is 'why can't we be more like the Europeans?' without admitting a clue about the differences in our societies. They continue to ignore that it is the culture of the ghettos abetted by scumbag politicians that cause the overwhelming number of gun murders, and the mentally disturbed and ideologically deranged who commit mass killings contribute very little to the body count.

What the Boardmans of the world don't seem to understand is that the marginal cost for eliminating that last fraction of a percent is extremely high for us as a liberal democracy - they view us as peer nation on the global scene. And in this regard, none of them acknowledge the historical role of the 2nd Amendment in America. But Mr Boardman has every right to his ideology, even one that may be destructive to the Republic, and no one should do anything to deny him his voice.

As I have mentioned on numerous occasions at RR, I believe that now is the time for the Boardmans, Frisches, and others to climb the pile of bodies and rally their troops to enact truly meaningful legislation to eliminate the scourge of gun violence from our society.

What are they waiting for?

Gregory

There are a number of intended mass shootings that end early because there was someone with a gun to stop them early; there's a reason such shooters choose "gun free zones" to carry them out, and Umqua was not an exception. For those of you who were confused by the confusing recently, here's an excerpt from a John Lott piece:

"Oregon law does allow permitted concealed handguns on school property. The New York Times, Media Matters, and others have been quick to pounce on this fact. What has been ignored, however, is that public educators in Oregon have undermined the law by putting bans in faculty and student handbooks.

There may be no criminal sanctions for violating the ban, but faculty face termination and students risk expulsion. Those are life-altering penalties. Faculty members undoubtedly won’t get another academic job if they committed a firearms violation. Expelled students are very unlikely to be admitted into another college.

Although Umpqua can theoretically provide written exemptions for the bans, school president Rita Calvin wouldn’t even let the college’s security guards carry guns.

Only people unaffiliated with the college can carry on campus. But even they are subject to a 2011 Oregon appeals court decision that allowed schools to ban guns in their buildings.

What all these rules mean is that no potential victims — students, faculty, or those unaffiliated with the college — were able to defend themselves in the classroom where the attack occurred."
http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/thinktank/Would-be-killers-target-gun-free-zones.html

I'm pretty sure this is the Frischian caricature of CCW holders:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-wUe5aEwHM

No, people who legally carry concealed aren't Walter Mitty/Mighty Mouse wannabees looking for a chance to be a hero, and so the students who were methodically shot one by one just sat quietly for their turn.

Regarding Europe, then there's Anders Brevik...
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/feb/22/anders-breivik-massacre-one-of-us-anne-seierstad

Yes, we do have a sub-sub culture of disturbed young men who decide to go out in a blaze of what they apparently see as glory and, short of a police state with a different Bill of Rights you're not going to solve it by restricting access to firearms by the vast law abiding majority who have had the right to posses them for centuries.

Bill Tozer

Todd Juvinall

Ecotopia! I had forgot all about that book. Yep, the liberals will pull a Chicom on us and only one male child is allowed. Drown all the girls just like they did in China. Now forty million horny men are prowling the streets! And, if that is not enough, kill all those little black fetus trying to get into the planet's atmosphere via Planned Parenthood. Yes, we are inching our way towards that Ecotopia aren't we?

The reason we have so many yahoos in prison (mass incarceration) is in my opinion, the tradeoff of freedom versus totalitarianism. Sure we could emulate European morees and pass laws to send out GeorgeB and his ilk to confiscate the guns but like Ben Carson said, if the sheep were armed to fight off the wolves they might still be alive. We have freedom in our country to be good or bad. A lot of people are bad. We have people who know the use of a weapon to kill another is a bad thing and if caught they head for the clink. So let us raise "good" people.

We can do that by changing the raising of people. What we teach them from day one. If we teach them that guns can kill and that is bad (except in self defense), perhaps that might work. If we have mentally ill people who wish to kill, we need to remove them to safer quarters in a institution. The ACLU will of course fight that and represent the mentally ill so they can kill but we should still try.

Last but not least, we need to bring shame and discipline back into the lives of our people. Feeling of shame can be a great deterrent to bad acts. Discipline is taught to show there is a consequence to bad acts. OK done ranting for know. I am sure you are glad.

Paul Emery

Todd writes:

" If we have mentally ill people who wish to kill, we need to remove them to safer quarters in a institution."

What standards and process do you propose to judge a person mentally ill?

Todd Juvinall

Oh I don't know Paul Emery. I imagine the same people who govern us can figure that out. What about you?

Paul Emery

By the way Obama is the highest he's been in the polls for over two years. He might actually be an asset to Dem Craps in the next election. He's far more popular than Congress and TWICE more popular than the Pubbers in Congress (24%).

"Obama's job approval rating is now at 51 percent, a six-point jump from the same survey in July, and an 11-point boost from the same point last year, when just 40 percent said they approved of the job he is doing.

The president also won a majority of approval for his decision to keep troops in Afghanistan past the previously announced 2016 deadline, with 50 percent supporting and 39 percent opposed.

On the other hand, just 35 percent of Americans thought Democratic lawmakers are doing a good job compared to 59 percent who do not, and just 24 percent approved of their Republican counterparts while 71 percent did not, with both numbers roughly in line with recent years' polling."

Obama's job approval is here

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/

Sorry Paul Emery, your numbers are bogus. He is up to 7 points underwater.
Congress always has a crummy rating, nothing to see there.

Bush? Who cares?

Politico is an arm of the democrats. Not trustworthy information.

Paul Emery

Todd

The numbers are from Washington Post-ABC polls. Do you consider the WP to be an "arm of the Democrats"?

" More than half of Americans in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll approve of Barack Obama’s job performance, a first in nearly two and a half years. That compares with 71 percent disapproval of the Republicans in Congress, with six in 10 calling their struggle to select a new House speaker a sign of dysfunction within the GOP caucus.

Likely boosted by improving economic sentiment, Obama’s job approval rating has gained 6 percentage points since July to 51 percent, a level he hasn’t seen since May 2013. That’s up 11 points from his career low a year ago. Forty-five percent disapprove, down 5 points since midsummer and 10 points from its peak in late 2013. "

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/obama-regains-majority-job-approval-gop-infighting-dysfunction/story?id=34575953

Todd Juvinall

That poll has all adults which you cited and that is correct. The same poll of registered voters is 48/48

Todd Juvinall

Oh and he is down 7 in another poll by Rasmussen and down 3 by Gallup.

Paul Emery

Either way Obama is far more popular than the Republican Congress in any Poll. The Dems are in the middle.

Care to compare Obama with Bush at the same time in his Presidency?

Todd Juvinall

No it is pointless. But you have Bush Derangement Syndrome and have been unable to find a cure except for the poll numbers. You are truly a sad sack.

Paul Emery

I don't need to spread the word. The Donald does a good job of that.

Yet your Gun grabbing pals say we need to keep guns out of those vary same hands.
Now just what "law" can or will do that? Where is Board man? Just what "is" that "common sense" law that has yet to be written to take care of that problem?

Then there is this brain child of the CA. LIBS
"Aside from the ammo background checks, the California proposal also would require felons to relinquish weapons, and ensure that data is shared with the federal firearms database on residents who are prohibited from owning guns. "

From this story,,

Liberals win with a majority of seats

The Liberal party won the Canadian election with an estimated 184 seats out of 338 (as this goes to print), ousting the ruling Conservatives. The Liberals were expected to win a minority of seats, so the majority victory comes as a surprise. Liberal leader Justin Trudeau will become the new Prime Minister, commanding the confidence of the majority of Parliament. The change of government should largely keep Canada’s business-friendly environment in tact: Liberals want to keep corporate taxes low, and the party supports the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) free trade deal, as well as most major pipeline projects. However, a push for carbon and environmental regulation by the Liberal government could be negative for the energy sector.

Seems though that Canadas "liberals" know "on which side their bread is buttered".

George Rebane

fish 609am - Mr fish, what economic pressure do you think/know that the US exerts on Canada in order to influence its domestic policies?

fish

Posted by: George Rebane | 20 October 2015 at 06:27 AM

It appears as though the main political factions in both Canada and the US think that supporting the TPP is in their interest. I thought that Canada, being a bit further down the social democratic road might have been less inclined towards a trade pact that many paint as having such dire consequences for "workers".

Todd Juvinall

I listened to Trudeau's victory speech last night. They have a "super majority" I think. Anyway, he sounded more Republican than our leadership. But he did have all the feel good words and phrases a lot usually spouts.

The other thing I notified throughout the evening was the "press" giddiness for the upcoming victory. They talks as if they were partners with the libs and had done all they could to help. Sound familiar?

Judicial Watch released an email today that showed the white house at 911 pm on the night of the Benghazi consulate attack was going to cite a different you tube video as having incited the demonstration. The so called Pastor Jon video which is believed be the God vs Allah you tube video. They later shifted focus to the video mentioned by the usual suspects. Looking for a scapegoat? The sept 12 Diplomatic security bureaus time line mentions no video incitement and shows madam pantsuits was told on that day it was an Ansar Al Sharia act. The WH was scrambling to avoid any acknowledgement of the facts on the ground or admitting it was radical muslum jihadis that planed and executed the attack. They knew it was not some Chicago street protest against a racially insensitive video that got out of hand that became the now discredited party line talking point. Denied basic security 12 times and now this expose' confirms blood on 0 and Hillary as well as their minions who also blocked proper precautions for the anniversary of 9/11 in war torn Libya.

I still want to cross bread an elkmoose. It sounds delicious.

Bill Tozer

And they say there is no true antelope in North America as well. Jackalopes, yes. Antelopes, no. Hmmm. What is a nature watcher to do?

As far as Benghazi is concerned, Steven's request for a minimum of 11 personnel (including security) to travel from Tripoli to Benghazi was denied by Hillary's Assistant Secetary of State. Thumbs down to Steven's repeated requests. This works in Hillary's favor as she can say she did not receive any requests nor denied the requests from where the rubber meets the road.

It all had to do the upcoming elections coming up in November. Obama was getting ready for the debates with Mitt and had been spouting that Al Quieda was on the run. Osama is dead and terrorists being routed. This Libya thang kinda ran contrary to the White House line and with elections coming up. Obama left and said Hillary will handle it. Don't know all the facts, but the relations between our National Intelligence Community, including the CIA, and State suddenly took to being a frosty relationship within days of realizing they had to bite the bullet to cover O's and State's rear ends.

All these investigations and no one can tell me where Obama went after being briefed. Know he went to Vegas the next day (just like OJ) to raise money, but what did the President do after he walked out of the room??? Guess it is easier to find out his collegiate transcripts of his grades and class schedules and one piece he wrote for Harvard Law Review than having my one question answered. O and Hillary's first instinct is to be secretive and defensive. Shy away from the light, shy far away.

Oh Angela......at some point in the very near future the German people will likely be more ashamed of you than of ol Adolph.

Last month in Germany—the country doomed to receive the bulk of Middle Eastern “migrants” currently pouring into Europe—a seven-year-old German girl was raped in broad daylight in a public park “by a Muslim migrant from North Africa.” This website unspools a laundry list of Muslim-on-German rapes from 2015 alone.

Why again did progressives think that Romney/Ryan was going to reestablish slavery.....put you people back in chains...was the phrase that Shotgun Joe employed if I'm not mistaken?

Hey where "jon" be at?

Bill Tozer

When I think about a 7 year old child being raped in broad daylight, I feel light headed, queesy, and my stomach feels like vomiting. Sick stuff. My heart breaks for the child.
Last year or so, I posted numerous stats and articles from Great Britian to Sweden to France (one city in France is dubbed the rape capital of Europe) to the sounds of crickets. North Africian scum immigrants condone rape of children and is legal (not considered a crime) in the Capital City of Monrovia. Most disturbing. Of course nobody would want to rape Angela, but you would assume she would put the safety of her countrymen and children first. As long as a Stone Age society considers women as less than goats and not really to be loved and cherished and Be one's soulmate and life partner, this will continue to happen over and over again, year in and year out. Sick shit.

But Bill.....how can you be such a cultural supremacist....have you no appreciation for "the other"?

I kept telling him it hurts—please stop. He told me that according to Islam he is allowed to rape an unbeliever. He said that by raping me, he is drawing closer to God.

See...this is what the president was talking about ......bitter clingers.....guns.....religion?

Fish, you last link was a friggin novel. How about some YouTube videos with less words? Here is one. You have a plethora of videos to choose from beneath. No shortage of stories, just shortage of press attention.
"It is unfair to deport immigrants convicted of rape. That is racist". Swedish politician.
And what is up with this burning mansions down? Like, what else do they want? Geez, they already have diplomatic immunity.

YOU'RE WELCOME.

The money quote.....

"Those 'horrors and conundrums,' as Anna saw them, formed the nexus of oppression she had sworn to fight in all its forms. As the years went by, her mission seemed to broaden and merge into her mother’s. By 2007, Anna had begun to argue that a person’s intellect — and the degree to which he or she is ‘‘disabled’’ — could be as much a social construct, as much a venue for tyranny, as race, gender or sexuality. It was, after all, white elites, she wrote, who first devised measures of I.Q. ‘‘as both a rationalization and a tool of anti-black oppression.’’

See Ben....progressive shit make yo ass crazy!

Withold payroll taxes then put them in your pocket? Multiple felonies? Deport her yesterday. Boo hu for Wu.

Bill Tozer

That is not Nevada City friendly, Mr. Smith. Remember the community rallied around an illegal who lied to police (those who are charged with upholding the law) and even tried to impersonated her gal friend? Not to mention driving without a license or insurance and running a stop sign. How heartless of you, how racist. :)
Does Wu give good massages? These are important things to consider.

Talk to Steve Frisch about payroll taxes. He is an expert about withholding them from restaurant employees for personal use.

Walt

I remember when she "came to town". Bought the Stonehouse, then jacked up the rent 200 or so %. Drove the tenants right out of there.

Now the breaking news that "shotgun" Joe isn't going to run!! So the LIBS are going all in on (soon to be) Inmate in chief Clinton. If she wins,, Corner cell at Clinton correctional facility?

Todd Juvinall

I remember Gregory asking Frisch if what he did with the Passages was a arrestable offense. Frisch never would answer. Looks like Wu has answered it.

Todd Juvinall

Isn't Wu a friend of Pelline's? The internet is changing the way we communicate! LOL!

Bill Tozer

They are stuck with Clinton

Bill Tozer

Ok, it wasn't fair to compare the Lithuanian with the Wu.
Now, a Golden Oldie:

What did Nikko Wu do to get a 200k bail and surrender passport restriction? You see these serial thief's and drug dealers get arrested over and over and still get 15, 20, 40k bails. The judges need to amend the bail schedule.

jon smith

You can rob a bank, put heroin in a child's arm, but on no account ever mess with the revenuers.

A two year investigation involving so many agencies? It's likely she got her antennae up and was getting ready to boogy back to the motherland. The feds locked her up on a quick tax evasion charge while they finish the real investigation. There is too much time, effort and energy being expended for this to be a simple payroll tax dodge. Ruinit is probably going to start a street protest and Tater Pig will do a heavy footed dance (The Stomp) around the arrest. Something smells rotten in Little China and it ain't kimchee. My bet is laundering drug money.

Walt

Yes Jon.. "underground economy" is the code word for dope growing in these here parts.
And it seems every grow is for "medicinal purposes". That's the excuse we keep hearing.
(some,, actually are... Some...) It's the profiteers I take issue with.
They are the ones bragging that dope is what's kept the Co. afloat all this time with their "underground economy". Now let's don't stop with just her.

don bessee

It is kind of odd that he whos name we will not utter is the very last one to even mention it and only posted the press release without any bellyaching and Yuba net was all over it. Yes there does seem to be more to this than a simple tax dodge. Money laundering does sound plausible and would fit with that kind of bail. It could be illuminating to know what the States mitigating factors were in the bail hearing. Walt you hear about the 3 patch pirates killed yesterday by a couple of growers? Tis the season.

Todd Juvinall

Looks like swiping the taxes of your employees is a felony! But wait, all she has to do is start a Environmental Non-Profit and all will be fine.

don bessee

Just sayin' but Wu's biographical details the union updated cause more questions about the whole thing. How did someone who made 2 tries at nursing school the last in the 90's go from not becoming a nurse to buying a 1.2 million dollar commercial property? Where did the down payment come from and who provided funding? There was a lot of shady real estate stuff going on here. This smells worse than that Korean 'delicacy' kimchee.

Bill Tozer

BTW, she said she no have your cat.

joe smith

She didn't just buy a 1.2 million property, but (allegedly) dumped nearly a million cash into the remodel. As Walt said, "She came to town" and hit the ground running. Wonder if she knows Shrimp Boy . . . he has ties in Smartsville.

don bessee

We can check the records but the Union is reporting the original sales price as 1.2m and that she paid near the asking price. Its easy to check but obviously she has sources of money than her 'job'.

In other news, the Obamacare co-ops in Oregon and Colorado has history. Same for NewYork, and 5 others.
What a great idea the co-ops were. No advertising, no one with accuracy experience, no experts involved, just good feelings competing against the seasoned professionals in the name of competition and choice. It's the thought that counts.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/two-more-obamacare-health-insurance-plans-collapse/2015/10/16/cc324fd0-7449-11e5-8d93-0af317ed58c9_story.html

Not the end, just the end of co-ops perhaps. Seems they were counting on 287 billion they say the gobberment owed them to subsidize their losses. That was after they got billions in start up loans.. Seems their revenues were only 12.6% of their costs, lol.
Amateurs running the co-ops and amateurs believing subsides would last forever, and amateurs for believing Obama and our HHS.

Did they hope for that change or even care? Me and the hottie got obamacared like many we know. Too many good docs are fleeing the morass that is 0 care. What good are policies when no one wants to take new patients under this craziness.

So a certain local "gun grabber" claims to have "numbers on his side" for draconian gun control. Well now... I don't THINK so.... Not even LIB news can "LIB up" the numbers.
http://dailycaller.com/2015/10/21/two-polls-that-smash-through-the-case-for-more-gun-control/
"A CNN/ORC poll released Wednesday shows 52 percent of Americans oppose more gun control laws compared to 46 percent who want the government to tighten regulations."

"A Gallup poll released Tuesday shows 56 percent of Americans believe that if more people carried concealed weapons after passing a criminal background check and training course the U.S. would be a safer place."

Seems someone was smoking dope when claiming "they had the majority for more gun control"

Maybe in the local Starbucks corner table whine session.
