[This is the transcript of my regular commentary on KVMR broadcast on 30 December 2015.]
Now that 2015 is drawing to a close I’d like to take a few moments for a personal look back at what was and what we might witness next. It’s been quite a year, and 2016 promises to deliver excitement to the max. Depending on how you look at it, the good or bad thing is that most people will not be paying attention. Perhaps because they will be overwhelmed by the coming information tsunami of global and national happenings all wrapped around our election year that will bristle with historical contentions and polarities.
At home our national economy continued to limp along with also historically low growth rates since the Great Depression. Comparing our economic metrics with those seen in the 1930s presents a startling resemblance. Despite the happy dancing we saw projected from the White House, the country is still in what I have called Depression2, and this goes double for our own California.
Systemic unemployment is now somewhere in the 70 to 90 million range when we consider those looking for work, working part time at a low paying non-career jobs, or having given up all hope of ever working again. The hokey unemployment numbers paraded for us are composed of tortured data all divided by a workforce number now at generational lows. And we don’t even want to consider the wage stagnation given rise to by over-regulation, taxation, and advancing technology.
Obamacare continues to devastate our huge healthcare industry with costs rising beyond anything promised in the so-called ‘affordable care’ legislation. Again clever statistics, a compliantly legislating Supreme Court, and costly ACA diktats, pending and strategically delayed beyond the election, have come to paint a totally different picture for those who cannot or will not look behind the curtain.
Globally we are witnessing a sea change in the world order with major actors – I’m referring to China, Russia, and fundamentalist Islam – taking advantage of the disaster that used to be called our foreign policy. On all fronts American interests are being pushed back or completely eliminated. At home and abroad our stultifying political correctness does not even allow us to name the obvious enemy of western civilization and America. We are not fighting radical Islam now internationalized; instead we are claiming to fight some form of ambiguous and faceless ‘terrorism’. Our military is micro-managed on the battlefields, and our Homeland Security Administration considers disgruntled American veterans to be the biggest threat to national security.
Back home, despite the hopeful messages from the liberal lamestream media, CA is a hopelessly indebted disaster area and the nation’s leading welfare state. This month Governor Brown finally admitted to embracing Agenda 21 when he opposed the 20-year effort by Newhall Ranch to build 60 thousand homes and create tens of thousands of jobs (more here). He unambiguously clarified the cause of our economic slide when he stated California’s real priority with, “Go live elsewhere, we’re cutting carbon here.” With that we drive out our productive demographic, and encourage the immigration of indigents.
Yet in the coming year both the Left and the Right see hope that things will get better according to their individual and highly polarized worldviews. In this I am grateful for the opportunity to share my conservetarian commentaries with you on KVMR, an unabashedly liberal media outlet staffed to a large extent by a cohort of good-hearted community volunteers. Their tolerance of my bi-weekly screeds for these past years gives evidence that this station does indeed seek balance in its editorial content. At their pleasure, I hope to continue bringing you different perspectives from an endless conveyor of issues that 2016 will deliver in abundance.
My name is Rebane, and in closing Jo Ann and I wish all KVMR listeners a healthy and prosperous new year. The transcripts of my commentaries are posted on Rebane’s Ruminations and available as archived podcasts on KVMR’s website. And as always, I remind you that my views are not necessarily shared by KVMR – thank you for listening.
Let me add one thing to your list here Doc. The FEDS decided to raise interest rates.
And after ALL this time. Uh,, Noooo,,,, the economy isn't all that great. The stock market
fell into the crapper when that happened. The price of oil is dirt cheap, and even with the restrictions lifted on U.S. oil, it still isn't moving. gold is still falling, and word has it that it will go to less than a grand.
These are not good signs. "O" and Co. are well on their way to "their" final solution.
The "fundamental transformation of America" is working great.(if your a Progressive)

Our economy is being buried under a plethora of regulations:
2015 was a record-setting year for the Federal Register, according to numbers the Competitive Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C., released Wednesday.
This year’s daily publication of the federal government’s rules, proposed rules and notices amounted to 81,611 pages as of Wednesday, higher than last year's 77,687 pages and higher than the all-time high of 81,405 pages in 2010 — with one day to go in 2015.

How long will America be AMERICA?
Census Bureau says ‘International migration” adds one person to the U.S. population every 29 seconds
In 2016, the US will see one birth every eight seconds and one death every 10 seconds.

Looking towards 2016, I see BLM being relegated to the post Occupy Wall Street crickets.. Sure, they like the Rev. Al (former James Brown the Godfather of Soul's manager) will still be around, but their legitimacy has waned. This is not political, not emotional, just the facts.

In New Years Eve news, they drop a sardine in Maine. And they think us Californians are screwy? Yes we a screwy, but at least we have a bigger ideas, albeit most of these grand plans of mice and men have failed us again. Maybe we should drop a sardine and save a bunch of grief. .

Another milestone we have passed is that the Beltway finally discovered that Trump exists. Some are even wrapping their minds around the wild notion that Trump might even win the Republican primary....with the usual caveat that Hillary will stomp him into the dust from whence he came. Progress for them. But, there is always that Independent running as a Dem for the first time in his long political career drawing government pay checks. But, alas, some things remain the same. Progress not perfection.

To close out 2015......
Bullshit. You have no quantifiable metrics for injustice, so you have no victory conditions (for a very simplified example, when blacks hold X% of all engineering jobs and are only Y% of all prisoners, racism is ended). That would be fine by itself, but you believe in fighting injustice with injustice (gays have historically been denied gay marriage? let’s get random CEOs fired for opinions they held six years ago). You don’t seek converts, you seek to punish and bully – straight white males who disagree with you must be purged and publicly humiliated. Even the jihadists will spare you if you convert; no apology or future correction will satisfy a SJW.
I could forgive that too if you weren’t all hypocrites and liars. Your treatment of women and minority dissenters is appalling; if they don’t want you acting on their behalf, that’s their choice, not “internalized patriarchy” or whatever. You rob them of moral agency. When called out for these behaviors (as you always insist on calling out others), you lie. You strawman your opponents (criticized a woman? misogynist!), you group them with the worst (you’re a gamer? you’re as bad as the anonymous rape threateners!) and when confronted with your own flaws, you restate them less threateningly (motte and bailey argument). You phrase all arguments as kafkatraps (disagreeing with your assertion that we are evil is taken as proof that we’re evil). You publish manipulated and misleading statistics, then lambast anyone who questions them.
You insist on vigilante justice against random acts of the week for your two-minutes hate. Why is it the NFL’s business to punish domestic violence? And, if it is their business, why isn’t Hope Solo receiving the same attention from your side?
Then you claim to be arguing for equality, but you’ve taken the idea of racism (hatred based on skin color is bad) and replaced it with a new concept where only one race can be guilty of racism. You excuse racial prejudice and hatred based on what I’ve already explained are arbitrary, unmeasured states of being. Your solution for the unequal treatment of whites and blacks is to hold whites to a higher standard. Your side lobbied the FBI to redefine rape so more women victims would be counted, but also so that “made to penetrate” does not count, leaving male victims in the cold. Because male privilege, apparently.
Historically ignorant SJWs think whites hold collective guilt for the awful things our ancestors have done. But they don’t care about the unspeakable atrocities by other races. The only difference between whites and others was that whites had the social and technological prowess to do evil efficiently; Africans, Asians, Indians, and everyone else practiced genocide and slavery, they were just less adept at doing it right. Given the means, they would have done the same. But nope, only whites are guilty; Arab oppression of blacks and caucasians never happened, not to us, nope.
I’ve been lucky enough to grow up in America, so this shit is new to me. But I’m descended from puritans, and I know my history; I know how they treated dissent. I also know how commies treated dissent; I grew up next door to a grizzled old Russian who barely avoided the gulag by smuggling himself out of the country. I know what you petty tyrants have turned into every time you gained enough power.
Worst of all, you turn the very principles of freedom against us. We tolerate you because we believe in free speech and civil discourse, not bullying and violence. But that means we have to watch you advocate against that very freedom. We don’t believe in ruining a stranger’s professional life over an opinion, but that means that we can’t punish your actions.
We believe that the rightness of our actions should speak for itself. You believe in bullying, even as you claim to love the oppressed.
Funny how the evil and all-powerful patriarchy has seen fit to act according to SJW whims for all of recent memory, punishing those they hate and protecting those they love. Funny how the evil oppressor males have to speak anonymously, while the SJWs fighting the power can use their real names and get mainstream media coverage for fun and profit. How when a million straight white male nerds get bullied, no one cares, but the minute one fag hangs himself, suddenly bullying matters – and the solution, of course, is more bullying, but by the “right” people.
That’s the arrogant core of it. You do the same evil, in the same pattern, as so many before you, because mob justice, punishing dissent, and repression of others is just fine and dandy so long as the “right” people are doing it to the “wrong” people.
Eat shit and die. All I ever asked was to be left alone.
