George Rebane
AG Loretta Lynch said yesterday that there was not enough evidence to connect San Berdoo’s terrorists with any specific religion. For that I called her a double dummy. Upon reflection, that overly generous attribution was in error, and I withdraw it. English currently does not have an appropriate term that accurately describes her level of ignorance and/or cynicism. Therefore I must await an expanded lexicon.
Many of us notice that the Left immediately starts hyperventilating about gun control in the aftermath of the latest Muslim massacre. This serves two purposes – 1) pursuit of an ever more compliant America to prepare the country for global governance, and 2) the Left’s mindset allows no viable opposition to the spread of radical Islam and its global caliphate. William McGurn (‘The Liberal Theology of Gun Control’) also argues this point. Our electorate's ignorance of this organic deficit constitutes a clear and present danger to America remaining a sovereign nation-state. (Isn’t it interesting that both the Left and Islam seek to rule all of humanity under a single world order?)
One person, two-thirds vote. This is the important case that SCOTUS is now chewing on as it reconsiders the population bases for the states’ drawing of district lines. If all mirror foggers are counted, then districts with heavy illegal alien and other non-voting populations will increase the clout of those in the district who can vote. This is a violation of the 14th Amendment, and I hope SCOTUS hearing Evenwell v Abbott has sufficient external plumbing to recognize such violation. (more here)
Trump’s proposed Muslim ingress ban has gotten every other politician’s undies in a bunch. The Donald says we should stop all Muslims entering the US until our government comes up with a viable policy (any policy?) that recognizes and deals with sources of radicalized Islamic terror. Given the role of taqiya (about which no one wants to talk), the reticence of our moderate Muslims to expose their own radicals, and the lengthening record of massacres by Muslims, Trump has voiced that which many (most?) Americans support given this administration’s abrogating its responsibility to secure the country. In response to such outlandish pronouncements, Trump’s poll numbers have finally surged well north of the 25% region where he seems to have been stuck for a long time.
[Update] Power went out on Cement Hill this afternoon and is not expected back until late this evening, unless PG&E postpones it again. During these times I am reminded that PG&E and all other utilities don’t really work for the consumers of their product. They are monopolies that work for their state public utilities commissions. The PUCs are faceless bureaucrats with totally different agendas to fulfill – it is they who regulate and set the rate cards for the utilities. When a neighborhood like ours loses power (today for a reason that clearly was not an ‘act of God’), they will take their own sweet time to get it repaired so as minimize some cost function that does not involve my inconvenience. And the progressives want the government to control ever more of the production and distribution of our goods and services.
[9dec15 update] A commenter under "... A Cancer on our Nation" contributed this little piece of American law that seems to render moot remarks offered by Sen Cruz on Muslim entrants, and remove considerable sting from Mr Trump's blanket dictum. Wonder why no one has brought this up in the national debate.
8 U.S. Code § 1182 - Inadmissible aliens
....
(f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

And a reader and correspondent sends the report ('America's Muslims object to Obama's push for more self-surveillance') by Reuters. The responses coming in (as in this example) from the country's mosques are not very hopeful, instead they do support the polling results (reported here) of the attitudes of America's Muslims toward jihad, shariah law, the caliphate, and support of ISIS. RR's proposition that there are a lot fewer 'moderate Muslims' among us than claimed by the Left and the lamestream stands.
Meanwhile another correspondent sends a report by the Associated Press on the impacts of climate change -
The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate, at Bergen, Norway.
Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone.
Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes.
Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm.
Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.
Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic,
while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.
Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.
This report was published in the 2nov1922 issue of The Washington Post 93 years ago.
AG Lynch is clearly a practitioner of NewSpeak.

Besides Evenwell v. Abbott, there's Friedrichs v. California Teachers Assoc to be argued in January... either of these winning would be a blow to the current one party state in Sacramento and a distinct shift of the nationwide prevailing winds.

Gregory 1146am - Wan't aware of F v CTA. Can you give us more about that and how they are sufficiently different to require SCOTUS hearing them separately? Interesting.

The AG Lynch news conference Friday with the FBI Director was the weirdest news conference I have ever seen. The AG would not allow it to be broadcast live, so it was a delay feed to the networks. There was supposedly reporters in the room with them though you never saw or heard them. They both gave a speech and there was one fixed camera that focused straight ahead on them, never panning around. After the second speech by the FBI Director his last line was "I'll take a few questions now" and the feed cut off immediately and went back to the station. I do not know what to make of it, it was bizarre. The whole "news conference" was about 5 minutes. I was left feeling I had watched a President Putin new conference from Moscow. I hope this is not going to be how we get information from the AG in future over this shooting.

Posted by: Walt | 08 December 2015 at 05:21 PM
George the two SCOTUS cases could not be more different. No overlap at all. By my understanding one would require legislative districts based on eligible voters, not warm bodies that are illegal or underage or green card. The CTA case would make dues paying membership in California public employee unions voluntary on freedom of political speech grounds which would turn off the golden spigot opened by Jerry Brown V1.0 and could be felt across the county, depending on how the Supremes decide to handle it.
Then there's AGW and the collapse of that meme will go through Democratic power structures like a tornado through a mobile home park. They've placed all their chips on Red, the wheel is turning and the croupier has put the ball in play.

LL is not stupid, if that's what you mean by 'dummy' as in dumb.
If you mean dummy as in some one else having their hand up inside of her making her mouth move and her eyes roll... yes, she's just a dummy.
Put a gun to her head and tell her to just try to guess what religion is linked to the murders in SB and I'm pretty sure she'll come up with the correct answer pronto.
It's no different than FDR claiming he has no idea what country bombed Pearl Harbor.
Look at the difference as to how our country now reacts to it's fed govt openly lying on a on-going basis.
And the left-wing cheers.

Ok, everybody, stop saying Lynch without using her first name or using her current title of AG. It is insensitive, racist, and reeks of white priviledge. We need more sensitive training to make our cuddled ones with arrested development feel good about themselves. We need to lower the anxiety on our college campus.

And you....the "Puppet Master"......(....I'm so ashamed of my gullibility)...directing it all! Pulling the levers....actually forcing us to be less than complimentary of your neighbors.

fish 1240pm - Do you (or anyone) have any idea why he bothers with RR, a site that he and his have long identified as part of the rightwing lunatic fringe that provides no valuable content, overflows with error, and has a miniscule readership/following?? My gosh, it would seem that he would have so many more important things with which to concern himself than constantly deal with what he considers fly shit on the wall. Or, who knows, maybe that's not what he thinks at all.

It certainly isn't educational...but rather...to those who've been around awhile it's boring rhetoric and a waste of time. Your blog isn't boring because particants can express their experienced opinions. The thing I've noticed with the invasion from the left is that the standards have bogged down to the level of poking fun and insulting...Mission accomplished? I hope you guys will try to ignore the distractions and stick to the real subjects you bring up George. Keep up the good work it's obvious how popular your blog is because of your subjects and effort. I look at lots of blogs.

Thanks for the kind words Bonnie. We all welcome opposing views on the topics at hand, and take to task the ones we really disagree with. It's always the mudballs that derail the discussion. I think that if you have to diss someone, diss the class that you have put them into, e.g. socialists or liberals or collectivists or ..., and give the reasons why it's not a 'nice' class.
Posted by: George Rebane | 09 December 2015 at 09:18 PM

I have, on occasion (Todd goes way over the line way too often) but I don't feel particularly bound to denigrate the enemy of my enemy on a regular basis... nor do you.
Let's judge others for the words they write, not the ones they don't, shall we?

Oh, and I have never used the word "coon". So simply another example of too much "good stuff" Paul used in the 70's.
I do admit to calling Frisch a "turd sucker" after he used nuanced words attacking me here. Paul Emery was mum about that though as he and the Frisch are more alike than he will admit.

This Trump proposal for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the country has certainly got all the establishment panties in a wad. As I understand it he was saying people coming here to reside, not just for travel ppurposes. But we see what happens when the hysteria starts. Even Obama and his mouthpiece Josh Ernest have called for Trump to quit over this.
I think it is great! When the jihadists murder our people and others around the globe just because they are not Muslims, why should we not discuss it? But as usual, the PC crowd, left and right, can't hack it so they call for the removal of those sore spots. I have not decided to support anyone yet but I truly think Trump and his yapping are done in the true American way. Toss it out for discussion and see what happens.
I am really disappointed though in Republicans attacking him when they should just shut their mouths. Attack Hillary and Obama and not your own. But they can't help themselves apparently. They just don't understand Trumps appeal. I would also say the conservative democrats will probably flock to Trump as well.

Posted by: fish | 10 December 2015 at 09:43 AM
Todd @ 9:28: Disappointed? It's ok to be disappointed. Better than trying to silence them. Candidates vying for their respective party's nomination trash the rival candidates within their own parties. Oh, polite circles like to call it "drawing a distinction between the two" or whatever nice terms they can come up for mudslinging the other with relish at every opportunity.
This is a contest for who will become the next President. Nobody, and I mean nobody should keep their pie holes shut. Speak loud, stand on chairs, stand on soapboxes, and cry out to the heavens. The stakes are high. There is no participation trophy. This is hardball, bare knuckle brawling, two men enter, one man walks out alive, winner takes all, fight to the death (of one's campaign). Stand your ground, make it your Alamo. Let the muck fly!.
As a side note, now that Obama is not running again, just where are those people who did not vote in 2012 that Obama claims he represents? He heard their voice! Where are the silent ones that threw their support behind out President by not voting? Well, we are beginning to hear from those 30% of non voters and boy oh boy, they ain't keeping their pie holes shut nor toe the Party line.

" Left immediately starts hyperventilating about gun control in the aftermath of the latest Muslim massacre." - George Rebane
It is time to stop using 18th and 19th century propaganda George. I know you identify with that era most when people of minority status and women were considered property and couldn't vote, the Senate wasn't elected, killing Indians and putting them in concentration camps was necessary, and killing labor activist was done for fun.
Calling the crime of another mass shooting a "Mulsim massacre" is par for the course.
Could it be the policy of death and profit over life the US exports around the world? $500 million of US weapons disappeared in Yemen earlier this year. The Mujahideen were armed by US, Saddam armed by US, Iran armed by US, Egypt armed by US, Israel armed by US ect... What is the pattern? We arm all sides of all conflicts while creating unrest and the conditions that create terrorists/ freedom fighters depending which lens we are looking through.
The US insane gun laws is a domestic version of our foreign relation policies.
I absolutely hate all the killing and destruction going on by everyone involved but the only operating paradigm is more violence, killing, and destruction. When the only language understood is profit and death then those who do not benefit from profit only have one language the power structure understands.
Violence!
Is it a massacre when the US, UK, France, ect... invades, occupies, and bombs the daylights out of other sovereign nations without a declaration of war? How about death squads in Central and South America when people are killed due to their political leanings? Your boy Reagan did plenty of killing of people in the Americas.
I would say in the name of US Interests tens of millions of people around the world have been directly and indirectly killed over the last Century. Coups have been performed and puppet regimes have been installed.
This is what I cannot stand about your right wing regressives who profess love of liberty and freedom. When it is done to others you seem to either turn a blind eye or openly support such anti-liberty, anti-freedom, and anti- natural rights.
Why is that?

But I do understand that your remarks now and in the past are of a piece with your fellow ideologues - radical Islam must be assuaged by all means available because we are such a mean excuse for a nation with a despicable record and now it is time for us to accept their retribution. Yes Ben. The bad things you just wrote about our country's leaders here and everywhere are true. We know that humans are motivated by good or evil. What's in it for me? And how to get it. Typically, coveting what belongs to someone else, and then taking it from them by any means works. Tax, invade, confiscate and declare war to redistribute the coveted wealth for those in charge first, and what's left trickles down to make the paupers feel good. That's world history involving humans. That's Mother Nature that governs earth's creatures. Violent survival of the fittest. All have some means of defense in order to survive in this beautiful, but dangerous world. Your body might be coveted by a large predator to eat, and if you created a nice garden, it's guaranteed other creatures will devour everything in it, unless you're able to keep them out. I could go on and on, but the most abominal are the powerful parasites who pretend to care about and represent those they oppress, tax and send all over the earth to kill and be killed allegedly for the good of humanity...while they reside in safety. Those who make the bloody decisions should be out in front to experience what it's like. Then maybe they would demonstrate authentic intelligence and compassion regarding others. Jesus Christ was martyred to lift the human consciousness...for a better world. Obviously, those running it have rejected it for power and wealth, and we now face the violent reality wild animals endure. We cannot survive without common sense.
I feel sorry for people and what's going on. Kind of like...we should mind our own business and care of our problems at home.

Ben. Only $500 million dollars of military hardware has disappeared in Yemen? Boy, that figure seems way too low. Are you sure? If true, some heads should roll. Somebody is asleep at the wheel. Should be in the billions, but I suppose it is a good, but inadequate start. They need much more than a lousy $500 mil to wipe each other out in the name of the Great Pedophile Prophet of the Sword. But, then again, Yemen is not that big so it might make sense to the bean counters.
Well, it creates jobs in manufacturing which lifts the workers standard of living. Always a silver lining.

And Paul Emrry, I must admit I was disappointed that Romney lost but I was very happy we took a thousand seats across America and gained more in teh House and took the Senate. And how many of your ilk were victorious?

Which Poll? It doesn't show that in my link.

Here's a quandary. If Trump is such a guaranteed loser, and all the liberals (including our readers) know this, then why are they constantly worried about Trump and spend time telling every one what a bad guy he is? Don't they and THEIR media know that the more they have bashed Trump, the higher have gone his numbers? If he's the loser they say he is, then why not forget about him and concentrate their vitriol on the Repub candidate that would give Hillary the most heartburn? Unless, of course, they are already doing that ;-)

Todd's incorrect calling of the 2012 Presidential race was because he listened to Karl Rove. He won't do that mistake again.
Posted by: Bill Tozeer | 10 December 2015 at 05:35 PM
If Trump wins the vote of the people, then the GOP plays games at the convention and screws him over to give the nomination to "whoever",, what does the electorate do? Blindly cast their vote for who the GOP choose? ( Not bloody likely. That's what LIBS do)
There will be such an exodus from the GOP, the likes that have never been seen.
The GOP will be signing their own death warrant. They will be seen as the rat bastards many see them as.
Trump will have proven his "right" to run independently. Recall that "pledge"? Think that was a one way street, and only applies to Trump if he "loses"?
If the GOP stabs Trump in the back, the GOP will show themselves to be no better, if not worse the the LIBS.

All this angst about Trump cracks me up. Look around the world and you will see upheavals in politics in many countries. Europe is a good example. Even Canada show there can be a 180 degree swing in the elections and the country survives. I recall when England went from Torie after 18 years to liberal. Canada just did it too. Germany had a left of center for many years then elected Merkel. France has been back and forth with a socialist in charge now. He is way more hawk than Obama.
All the political smart people say Trump will be the demise of the R party. Hogwash. It is simply people wanting a change. I also think Americans are sick of the PC crowds. Plain speaking may return. Look how mucked up our kids are. Half the boys on ritalin, and the rest of them and the girls sexting their 13 year old body parts. What the heell? America is grasping for a return to a normal life. All this PC crap and open morals is chafing the people.
Though I am no prude and enjoy a good chase, American people of substance are saying maybe we need some boundaries of decency and morality. Sure that makes those that want to hump in the public square a little mad, but maybe they should find a private spot and keep it private. We do not need to know everything about everybody's peccadilloes. Traditional marriage and this killing of babies has brought a lot of people to the fore. Trump if nominated, will make short work of the baby killers on the left. And the wimps. No more red lines but maybe some fists to the face? Hillary will be a wimp ass as are the rest of the lobs, the R's will be kicking some arse.

...and gained more in the House and took the Senate. Todd Juvinall
FALSE statement yet again, Todd. Is it confusion or ignorance, Todd? Lets see you double-down on this reality.
2012 General Election results:
Senate: Democrats Plus 2 pickup, retain Senate.
House: Democrats Plus 8.

How nice of you to advocate violence against Planned Parenthood and abortion facilities, and a violent reaction in general. Not sure a real estate developer/BS artist is going to be so intimidating! LOL. But the fascist rhetoric is telling. We saw what happened when a Christian religious extremist shot up a facility in Colorado. What a nice person you are Todd.

What fractured fairy tails are you reading "jon"? LIBS control neither house today.
Since "O" slithered into office 900+ state and county seats LIBS have been yanked from.
Welcome to reality.
No wonder your in the minority. Get used to it. It's going to be that way for a vary long time.

Our Leftist Comrads are hoping that Trump does to the Republicans what Obama did to the Democrat Party. Since Obama, the Great Hope of Post Racial America, done got Himself elected, the Dems have lost....have lost something over 1,000 seats across the land, including the House, Senate, State legislature seats and governors. Maybe it is closer to 1,400 when you count municipality head honchos and BOS or their equilivent.
Seems to me that the Party of Jons is not only wrong about the pulse of the country judging by the last 7 years, he may be also wrong about the current trajectory as well, IMHO.
Posted by: Bill Tozeer | 10 December 2015 at 07:31 PM
Walt, I absolutely harbor zero worries about a backroom brokered convention. Yes, it is indeed very possible under the current circumstances according to conventional wisdom, pun intended.
. But, Mr. Walt, I humbly submit we are talking about The DONALD here, not some politician. Lest you forget. Trump will blow the roof off no matter what minor obstacles (challenges) are thrown before him on his march to the sea. He will amass delegates like Grant took Richmond, lol.

Bill. Today's GOP is not above dirty, underhanded reacharounds to try and keep their power.
( This is not my Dad's GOP anymore) They will barrow the LIB playbook from Dirty Harry in exchange for setting aside desert land for Asian solar (subsidized) if need be to stick it to Trump. The GOP today is LIB lite.

Yes, indeed, that slur was posted by "some guy named Larry" just a day after some black professorette revived it to refer to Dr. Ben Carson, to a deafening silence on the collectivist side.
Thought it would underline the infallible hypocrisy of the leftist nutjobs who (for whatever reason) choose to frequent this blog. Don't recall any outrage about the slur on Carson, but apply it to the Messiah and look out!
Suggest you park your selective outrage where the Sun don't shine.

Obama won easily in 2012, and Dems did great in Senate and House races. Obviously your pulse wasn't the majority pulse, and still isn't.
But then again you guys don't exactly hang out in a diverse setting :).

This is Libby land, where the big LIB cities call all the shots.
Even after redistricting the game was rigged in the LIBS favor. HELL! Even the "Brown Streak" that OH SO way over budget has yet to lay a foot of track.
Oh Ya,, "jon" sing the praises of Ca. The laughing stock of the nation. Yup Give illegals driver's licenses. Allow them to take jobs. get on the welfare dole, and now healthcare. All at citizen taxpayer expense. That sure will be "sustainable".
Nevermind the most business unfriendly state in the union.
Give it time "jon",, that attitude you like so well will change.(maybe not yours though)

Todd, for the life of me I don't see where you got your stats on Trump out polling Clinton. Here's the latest from RCP and they show quite the opposite,
this shows out of 7 polls only one (Fox) shows Trump ahead. Help me understand how you got those numbers.
USA Today/Suffolk Clinton 48, Trump 44 Clinton +4
MSNBC/Telemundo/Marist Clinton 52, Trump 41 Clinton +11
CNN/ORC Clinton 49, Trump 46 Clinton +3
Quinnipiac Clinton 47, Trump 41 Clinton +6
FOX News Clinton 41, Trump 46 Trump +5
PPP (D) Clinton 45, Trump 44 Clinton +1

Jon, Jon, Jon. Oh, yeah, it was way back in 2014 that the DEMS do the impossible and lose the Senate. They lost both Houses since Obama took the reigns of the ship. 2012? Oh my you. Yeah, you did great in 2012. Too bad 2012 was followed by the more recent 2014. You are so smart. Or, let's rephrase that. How about you the smartest.
Judging by the last 7 years when that period started off with the Obama Administration in the White House, Queen Nancy holding that big ole gavel, and Harry Reid was the Majority Leader of the US Sentate......ok, Jon, you win! The Dems have lost more state houses (some 30 they lost both chambers), more governors with or without losing both chambers of the state houses...oh Jon, you are moving in the right direction. Please, keep stomping on us, please. Keep up the outstanding work.
Funny Jeff, I knew you would bring up CA. Yep, CA is blue as that blue veiner you haven't seen in years. So predictable. Yep, the Rs even got themselves a Senator from the Great State of Illinois for goodness sake. Sure, you got your Dem in the White House, twice in a row. You are kicking out butts! I cry uncle.
Jon, have mercy on the Republican controlled House of Representatives the Republican controlled US Senate, the majority of the governors, state houses....shucks Jeff, you are squashing us like a bug. BTW, Nancy is chopping at the bit to get that gavel back.

Let Jon savor his outstanding victories in 2012. Obama vs Rhino. Rhino lost. Breaking news! In. 2012, the libs won in CA. Wow, who could have seen that coming? We righties got caught flat footed. What a shockwave! Obama was reelected and CA in liberal hands. Same with New York State. Wow.
My original premise is that the Left is hoping that Trump does to the Republican Party what Obama has done to the Democrat Party....aka, wholesale slaughter of the Democrat Machine and brand. After the President steps aside, the Dems as we know them will be relegated to the dustbin of history. Gotta keep up with the times. Savor your trophy cabinet, Jeff, and don't forget to take a feather duster to them reminders of former power every few months.

George
Your question can't be answered. Of course the Dems would love to have Trump as the candidate because he will be easy pickings because he has no real desire to win, only to enhance his brand of quirky rebel with no cause. The media on both sides of the aisle love him because of his entertainment value and that's why he gets so muck press and tube time. The pubsters are freaking out because he might actually win the nomination and they would lose their big money support who would flock to Clinton because they know what they would be dealing with. Big money hates populism because it is based on passion.
I give the Repubs much credit for dumping the mainstream so far in this election. the Dems are predictable and boring.
Interesting detail is that Trump has spent only 1mil on his campaign so far and Bush, the establishment favorite has spent over 100 and seems headed for Perryland with single digit support and fading. that shows that perhaps money can't buy elections after all. Trump is a master showman, I give him credit for that.

Tozer 9:37, I think your response is best directed to Todd and Walt, who apparently think 2012 was some rejection of Obama and his disastrous policies. And whats up with Jeff? Sorry to disappoint, but my mother never considered that name.
Walt, tell me how the IRS influenced the Presidential election? Are you saying that the Tea Party would have come out strong for Der Mittster if they had all their PACS set up? That's quite a new wrinkle!

Sorry Jon. Must have been a pigment of my imagination to do the Freudian slip when I interchanged your name with the name Jeff. Yes, I know you are jon or lately Jon, not Jeff. At least I got the "J" part right. Close, but no cigar.
Paul at 9:42pm. I have heard the talk that Trump has no real desire to win. Haven't heard it recently, just as I haven't heard that Trump's real purpose of throwing his hat in the ring is solely to help Hillary win the office of President.
Those that say Trump really does not want to be President, he just loves the attention by rabble rousing, I see nothing in Trump's history that leads me to believe that he does not want anything but to win. His whole adult life is about winning. Nor do I see any evidence to the contrary, even in his longer hair college days.

Hmmmm. I wonder which one of your neighbors is going to lose their composure and go full Loring Wirbel first?
—Loring Wirbel, “Violent Depravity as a National Pastime,” Monday, January 10, 2011, after an apolitical lunatic severely wounded Democrat Gabrielle Giffords, killed Bush #41-appointed Federal Judge John Roll, and shot 17 others.
Loring Wirbel, board member of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Colorado chapter and co-chair of the ACLU’s Colorado Springs chapter, called for supporters of GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump to be shot before they vote for the billionaire businessman.
Comparing Trump to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, Wirbel wrote in his Facebook page:
—“Colorado ACLU Board Member: Shoot Trump Voters ‘Before Election Day,’” as spotted by Derek Hunter of the Daily Caller, today.

that shows that perhaps money can't buy elections after all.
Two immediate thoughts I had were that this is still only the pre-primary stage of the election process and that it may be Trump's unconventionally funded campaign, including that he is self-funded and that his media coverage provides free advertising, that makes it appear that way.

Michael Kesti. Don't know where Paul got his numbers, but Trump's campaign released spending at 250k, not a million. But, I won't quibble over that. A hill not worth attacking nor defending.
My thoughts. I have had this deep feeling that the rise of The Donald is so much more than the Extreme Islamic thang. I see it as way way bigger than the Trumpmeister. It's pushback against PC, a growing push back for no borders, perceived moving to a global governance, one world idealism dictated by "elitist foreigners", stacking the deck against Ametica, etc.
Quote from the link below (paraphrased): There is no right for any foreign national to migrate to the United States. Yep, absolutely no constitution right for anyone to be allowed to migrate here, despite what we are being spoon fed.

The Republican Party is truly a mess. Now Carson is threatening to bolt. I love it. If only the Dems were going through the same process perhaps we'd see the end of establishment ruled government.
"“If the leaders of the Republican Party want to destroy the party, they should continue to hold meetings like the one described in the Washington Post this morning,” Carson said in a statement Friday..... Carson went so far as to suggest that he would consider leaving the party if it is “the beginning of a plan to subvert the will of the voters.”
“If this was the beginning of a plan to subvert the will of the voters and replace it with the will of the political elite, I assure you Donald Trump will not be the only one leaving the party," he said. “I pray that the report in the Post this morning was incorrect. If it is correct, every voter who is standing for change must know they are being betrayed. I won’t stand for it."

PaulE 942pm - "Your (530pm) question can't be answered." Pray tell why?? It is the simplest of questions with an equally simple honest answer. Of course, your reluctance confirms the expected answer.
Posted by: George Rebane | 11 December 2015 at 09:21 AM
Paul, I still do not see a brokered convention. It's all "what do we do if "The Big One" hits San Fransisco this weekend or are we prepared if El Niño causes Englebright Dam to burst. A brokered convention happens Only if no candidate gets a majority of Republican delegates. Ok, let's say Cruz soars and takes some states. Can he get more than half of the delegates? I am not saying that Trump runs the table, but he is sure to pick up enough delegates from every state to end up with the half, plus one.
Yes, I could be off my rocker, but this whole talk at this point is akin to the explosive reaction that would take place "if Obama decided not to step aside after the elections and declared martial law through executive order."
To be fair, I like the if-then scenarios. I don't see it happening at this moment months before even one primary has been decided. But, to play along, if Trump gets only 35-40 percent of every primary, then it's popcorn time! Until then, it's what would happen if the Big One (Quake) hit us on July 4th..
But, Mr. Emery, you may be correct. I do remember the Chicago Convention of 68. That was a golly good time watching the festivities along with Mr. Daley's own fireworks. It could happen, but I say unlikely. Yes, it would be fun fun fun until her Daddy took the T-Bird away.
Posted by: Bill Tozeer | 11 December 2015 at 09:33 AM
My take on what Paul is putting up. The divide of the "Right" shows that "we" think for ourselves, and many put Country before party and "power". The LIBS on the other hand, the majority of which is Party before country, and their control is all important.
Proof of that is all the people exposed of wrong doing, yet not a damned one shown the door, let alone prosecuted. When a politician or bureaucrat is found to have done wrong the opposite is true.
Posted by: Walt | 11 December 2015 at 09:33 AM
Walt is totally correct. The left bands together to raise and spend trillions for themselves and the so they overlook differences to sell the country down the river. At least the Right has some debaye and differences.
Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 11 December 2015 at 09:37 AM
But, but, who speaks for the media, the 4th branch of government? People are anxious out there. You do not see Hillary giggling on ABC when someone mentions Trump anymore. No, not even Hillary giggles when asked about that man and now talks about love. It's Hillary Hallmark time. Why? Is it about Trump or is it about the populace ain't feeling safe and secure about the economy, their children's futures, enemies foreign and domestic.
The last time Obama called a hastily scheduled talk from the Oval Office was to announce Bin Laden is dead. Now, he rushes back to the Oval Office to calm our fears, not saying much, not laying out a plan, except the usual blah, blah, blah, gun control. But, why is Hillary not giggling at a mention of Trump and why did O race to the cameras to talk to the American people to not say much??
I submit again that it is not Trump in and of himself. It is finally getting through to our fearless leaders that something afoul is going on with the end user (the people) and they are fearful, angry, fed up, and don't want to play this game anymore. We just ain't buying it like we use to. And we are not going to swallow the mantra anymore. Nay, many are starting to spit it back.in your faces, fearless leaders.
Come on, look at the Black Lives Matters On Campus thing. Sure, the Dems raced to appease and apologize to them in droves, but not no more. Why? Maybe it is low on our list of priorities of the To Do List. Seems small potatoes to most, providing no free speech zones in places dedicated to higher learning can appear absurd at best.
It the mood of the end consumer is to boycott the product, then this indeed is bigger than Trump. Wipe that smile off your face, Hillary, and keep those running shoes close, Mr. President. White House calls to the media just ain't fixing it right now, so you better have a good backup plan besides blaming Fox News. Meanwhile, BLM is going through attention withdrawals.

You ask:" If he's the loser they say he is, then why not forget about him and concentrate their vitriol on the Repub candidate that would give Hillary the most heartburn? Unless, of course, they are already doing that ;-)"
My guess is that they know that he will cause heartburn to the Pubsters and the more they go after him the stronger he gets within his expanding core group. He is a God given distraction for the Dems and a ruptured hernia to the Pubs.
Hope this answers your question

Did you ever check the link to RCP showing Hillary ahead in all polls but Fox? I feel like a schoolteacher grading your papers.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 11 December 2015 at 10:56 AM
Just thought I'd weigh in on Evenwell v Abbott and my take is that original intent is that districts be formed by a count of residents, not voters.
Consider congressional districting during slavery... slaves were counted as a 2/3 person, but if the state were to abolish slavery they'd be made whole... but at the time they'd probably not be allowed to vote.
An aside, those of you who think the Constitution should have counted slaves as full persons, you're agreeing with the Slavers; Abolitionists didn't want them to count at all in order to not reward slavers with a bigger say in the House because if persons owned by slavers. They split the baby in a compromise in order to form a nation rather than split apart.
So, I'm coming down on the side of counting all residents, but perhaps not those here illegally, or those not actually counted in the Census. Counted, not inferred. Counted, with names and ages recorded. If you are unwilling to cooperate with that Constitutionally mandated task perhaps you shouldn't be available as political capital by representatives of your locale.
