[Well, we're heading for the end of 2015 and it's time to refresh the sandbox one last time before we ring in the new year. I hope all RR readers had the merriest Christmas and are girding their loins for a very exciting 2016 that I'm sure we'll dissect ten ways from Sunday. I very much appreciate all of your enthusiastic participation and exchanges during the past 12 months, and have a feeling we ain't seen nothin' yet ;-) gjr]
Looking back over 2015 and peering into 2016, there were and are major events that happened that should give 2016 plenty to talk about.
Domestically, 2015 had with the illegal alien issue rising up again early in the year and ended with San Brudo with plain ole immigration. The economy bounced along the bottom and no earth shaking news. Guess after 7 years, we have grown accustomed to "the new normal". Oh yeah, Michael Brown and the aftermath really grabbed the public's attention ending with demands for ethnically correct menus on college campuses. And let's not forget The Donald, and the Trump Effect, and the new phrase "getting Trumped".
In foreign affairs, Syria, ISIS, Putin's cunningly and perfectly playing a great poker hand. Iran making nukes. Middle East and North Africa on fire with the rise of Islamic Fascism. Of all these issues, I will choose one to start this Sandbox with what I see as a possible game changer: the influx of Islamics and war refugees into Western Europe and how that might alter the EU as we know it.

Ah, timing is good this morning. Keep in mind that it takes decades for changes to occur. I remain neural of the topic and don't see the EU falling apart in 2016. But, maybe a movement towards nationalism, the antithesis of what the EU stands for. Perhaps more taking the EU lefties to the woodshed in 2016. All caused by Islamics. Go figure. Hindus are good, Islamics bad for the Trading bloc.

I am currently reading Reflections on the Revolution In Europe: Immigration, Islam, and the West, by
Christopher Caldwell My friend Fred Buhler recommended it, and he is waiting for me to catch up so we can discuss it. I just finished Chapter 1 The Immigration. Here is the Amazon summary:
This provocative and unflinching analysis of Europe’s unexpected influx of immigrants investigates the increasingly prominent Muslim populations actively shaping the future of the continent. Muslims dominate or nearly dominate many important European cities, including Amsterdam and Rotterdam, Strasbourg and Marseille, the Paris suburbs and East London, and in those cities Islam has challenged the European way of life at every turn, becoming, in effect, an “adversary culture.” In Reflections on the Revolution in Europe, Caldwell examines the anger of natives and newcomers alike. He exposes the strange ways in which welfare states interact with Third World customs, the anti-Americanism that brings European natives and Muslim newcomers together, and the arguments over women and sex that drive them apart. He considers the appeal of sharia, “resistance,” and jihad to a second generation that is more alienated from Europe than the first, and addresses a crisis of faith among native Europeans that leaves them with a weak hand as they confront the claims of newcomers.
The EU is in for some immigration hard times in 2016, as more Muslims push their way into Europe.

Ok, I will stop after this post for awhile. I will continue to hammer on PC, absurd broken thinkers and calling 'em as I see them. Have a Happy New Year, even if the Sweet Meteor of Death heading towards Planet Earth makes this your Final Happy New Year. Nothing to see here.

One final note. I spent Christmas late afternoon with my dog, my neice's Doxie, my sister's St. Bernard mix, and a few humanoid relatives. My sister, the old dyed in the wool Feminist for life banned any talk of politics and the mere mention of Rush Limbaugh in her house...for years. But, she does listen to Tom Sullivan on occasion. Hmmm. Having learned the humbling experience of raising kids has seasoned my dear sister(s),
Anyway, somehow we got on the topic of the university I went to for a year cost me $1,800/year back in the day and it costs 45k a year today! Yes, those were the days you could work part time and pay for the tuition and live off a big bag of dry Puffed Rice. Things has changed.
Not being one for self control, I told her there "is a college in Ohio called Obermen ? College that the black students were demanding fried chicken every weekend at the mess hall. She laughed and laughed and laughed.
She, with her face aglow, told me back in the burn your bra days (she was fired as a teacher in public schools for refusing to wear a bra back in the day)...in those days no one would ever say watermelon and fried chicken because it was unspoken code words for black people and a no-no to even say fried chicken. She was still laughing because if you said "fried chicken" you would be labeled a racist back then and now if you don't say "fried chicken" you are racists. Oh, things have changed, but the silliness of PC remains. Have a good Juan.

The first to make an independent run in 2016? He's the only Dem I like. Country first, then politics. Go Jim go! And Bernie ain't backing down and is going after the DNC, run by Hillary's former National Campaign Co-Chairperson. Make them waves boys, it still won't change a thing. As Chris Matthews asked, "what's the difference between a Democrat and a socialist?" Debbi avoided the question several times so I will take a stab at it. The difference is Jim.

Will His Purpleness try to spin this as an economic positive for California, like he did the Tesla Battery Plant?
After losing out to Nevada last year in the competition for Tesla’s battery plant, California has missed a similar opportunity. Faraday Future, the semi-mysterious rival to Elon Musk’s car company, secured the backing of the Nevada Legislature for a multimillion dollar factory deal — despite having selected California for its current headquarters.
“The state Assembly voted overwhelmingly in favor of the deal Saturday, after a four-day special session in Carson City,” the Associated Press reported. “Lawmakers learned last week that Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting was backing the secretive California-based company, which employs some former Tesla Motors executives, and that Faraday plans to bring 4,500 direct jobs to Nevada.”

Well you can hardly blame them......there is no historical evidence anywhere, any time for creating a alternative market (I almost said "black market" but I know that gives some of the more delicate RR readers the flutters) when a government decides to fatten its coffers with the proceeds from "vice".
Yep.....unprecedented.

Koch Brothers Group Can't Keep Donor List From California -- California can ask a nonprofit group started by conservative billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch for the names and addresses of its donors, but the state can’t publicly disclose that information. Edvard Pettersson Bloomberg Politics -- 12/29/15
Anyone want to guess how long before the list gets leaked and no one is held responsible. That is how the left operates.
My guess, less than a week after it is turned over to the State. Your guess?

Interesting that the Huston mosque fire was set by a member of the mosque who prayed 5 times a day there. Another case where other peoples security systems fingered the perp. Mosque leader claims no knowledge of the suspect in spite of the amount of time he spent there every day. Crickets from CAIR yacking heads as expected.
Posted by: Don Bessee | 30 December 2015 at 12:12 PM
Don, if that mosque is near San Berdu, that Holy Muslim who runs the place said he barely knew the husband and never met the wife. Ok, he memorized the Koran there, which took him 2 years of weekly classes to complete, which he just finished. The wife was a regular and studied in bi-weekly classes at the mosque. Liar, liar, pants on fire!
You know those 10 Muslims from Britain or France who had their little hearts broken when they were not allowed to fly here to go to Disneyland? We won't let them in and the libs across the pond are aghast. Why would we say no visas to them. Because the brother of the guy who planned and organized the Magic Kingdom vacation happens to attend the same mosque that the San Brudo mass murderers frequented but "the Imani didn't know them." The FBI was listed 26 lies from the Muslim Leader in their interview. ROFLMAO! No pictures of Snow White with the kiddies for them.

Now CAIR has clammed up tighter than a camels ass in fly season.
I guess they are off to bigger and better things. Like suspending the 1ST Amendment.

Oh my, Walt. Hijab grabbing is just a new college dorm fad. Those silly young people. Heck, back in the day we did the streaking thang which made college an eye opening experience. Oh, those lovely Spring evenings.. One guy streaked into the cop shop, jumped up on the front counter, spun to make his getaway, and lost his footing. Opps. He never made it back out the front door. Silly college students.
Hey, this is a total digression. Remember when Patty Hearst (Tanja) was on the lam and there was the entire nationwide search for her? Well, I was sideways on firewater and called the FBI, told them I spotted Patty Hearse and it's her,100% certain just a few minutes ago. The agent got very very interested and I had his complete attention and started answering a couple of questions. Then he asked another question a bit more excited and I replied "Yep, sure as goat piss, I saw her streaking down the middle of the main drag in town in broad daylight wearing one shoe." The next thing I heard was dial tone. :)
