Jon 4/16 9:05.
You can't accuse the Pope of not being creative. What a novel way to snatch a pacel of good looking young boys. I wonder which of his Bishops will get to adopt them?

Bill Tozer

The Pope can visit them lesbos all he wants. :). Some are easy on the eyes.

Jon

Here's one for the former Ben Carson fans...LOL. as we suspected, there is something wrong with old Ben.

Gregory

We all know something is wrong with "Jon".

George Rebane

Jon 1107am - Reading the link you provide removes the last vestiges of doubt about both your reading and reasoning abilities. Thank you for resolving this longstanding conundrum.

Jon

Satire my good man :)..thought it funny though.

George Rebane

Jon 1220pm - Whew! Thanks for the clarification Jon.

Todd Juvinall

"jon" doesa appear to be a bit mentally challenged. His support for the perv Bernie Senders is proof of that.

Todd Juvinall

Looks like "Jom Smith" is boycotting Duabe Strawser for accepting donations from the Tea Party and the NCCA. Tell us "Jon" what have you done for Nevada City that matches Duane's efforts? Nada, you are a whiner.

Todd 1228-
Didn't know I was running for office there Todd.
An endorsement from Earth First, PETA, Tea Party, Occupy, or some other clad of zealots will always earn my scorn. It's not a right wing vs left wing deal. It is the extremists on either side, blinded by their ideology, whom I find contemptible. It's the same with religion. Though I am personally an atheist, I have nothing at all against church, religious freedoms, and personal beliefs. It's the fundamentalists who make me instinctively reach for a gun or at least a big stick as I walk to the other side of the street.

Todd Juvinall

BS "Jon Smith". You probably can't even vote in District One. And you like little Heidi like your pal Pelline. She is endorsed by that nutball Mann. So don't bloviate crapola to us we know about you libs. Lemmings and hypocrites.

Walt

Well now... Look what a crazy Burnie backer did. This should make the "jon's" day.
http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/04/16/left-winger-slashes-trump-supporters-car-tires-says-improved-community-values/
How come I get the impression that if I had a Trump sticker,, our "jon" would do the same?

Gregory

More of the wussification of college students. When I was that age, folks expected to get tear gassed or pepper sprayed if añ officer of the law told you they'd do it if you didn't stop whatever unlawful thing you were doing. In fact the whole point was to provoke that action. No sympathy for the whining at all.

One of the Davis wussies was the child of one of my son's favorite Cal professors... if that was my kid I'd have told them to take their lumps proudly if you believed in the cause and the efficacy of the protest.

Walt

Gregory.. Thanks for reminding me of what "we" gave to some anti logging longhairs.
We showed up to work to find some idiots chained to our equipment. (OK,, ya' want to play with the big dogs?) We skidded in a nice big log (not all our rigs were parked in the same aria. They missed one or two) and commenced to use chain saws to shower the "protesters" with sticky pine chips and two stroke exhaust. OH the bitching and whining. It really didn't take long for one dirty hippy to come up with a key.
They left smelling better than when they showed up. I wonder why they didn't come back for seconds???

Gregory

"Though I am personally an atheist, I have nothing at all against church, religious freedoms, and personal beliefs."

A Frisch datapoint

Bill Tozer

Walt, lol. Back in the day Nixon told some long haired hecklers who were hurling profanities and disputing his speech, "Here's a four letter word for you. S-O-A-P...trying using it sometime". Then he said work was anothet four letter word to them. Funny now, wasn't taken that way at the time.
When I did some work for NID/PG&E on hydro, there was some folks named Sky or Starlight or Sunshine or Squatting Bear (forget some of the names) that were going to chain themselves to trees and tree squatted on a ridge above Bowman. Dummies. The trees they climbed and played house in were piss pines and they vowed to keep their vigil up all fall into the winter.
Being the diplomatic sensentive spokesperson I am, I talked to them. Went something like this. "Hey, shit for brains, those are piss pines and piss firs you are tree sitting in and have no commerical value. You dummies, nobody wants to drop those trees. But, have at it you stupid, stupid, stupid tree hugging Earth worshippers. This ridge here gets 14 foot of snow on a bad year, usually 18-24 feet on the shady side. Opps, this is the shady side. So, go ahead and spend the winter here and you better strap yourselves on tight cause the winds up here snap trees like toothpicks. Plus, I have all your license plate numbers written down where you thought you hid your cars, which, incidentally, is parked on private land and I am calling to have them towed. Have a nice winter up here. BTW, they lock the gate on this road in Novembet and reopen it in May or June, depending how deep the snow is. Have a nice walk home."
I left, but read in some Earth First Greenie Veg Head rag that they declared victory for saving a couple of trees and will regroup and continue their tree squatting the following Spring. They saved piss fir, lol. And they left victorious. And lied to save face. They were friggin' heros. Ignorance of the Left knows no bounds.

Jon

Gregory, the depths of your continuous Pelline and Frisch obsessions cannot be imagined by mortal men.

Gregory

All you need do to derail those "obsessions", "Jon", is to identify yourself. Until that happens, the similarities between your talking points and those of the FUE and the Frisch, both documented fabulists, are too close to ignore.

I do expect you are who we suspect you are and so can't come out without universal derision from both friend and foe.

Jon

You're right Gregory, I am both guys.

Todd Juvinall

"jon" is a coward. Scary to tell us who is really is. Woo Hoo!

Jon

I think you're referring to Bill Tozer there Todd...Bull Dozer...get it? Incredibly creative.
My actual first name is Jon. Thanks.

Jon

I think Gregory is upset because Pelline and Frisch are successful people without even having an advanced degree in Physics. Eee Gads!

Bill Tozer

My, Jonjon, you are a regular Dick Tracy. I have been busted. My real name is Bull Dozer. May I say "Not so close, John Deere." Get it. That's a bull dozer joke. At least you quit saying "we" and please keep going light on the smiley faces and ROFLMAO. You have come a long way, ROFLMFUEO. :)

Think I died awhile ago. From Charley's War:

Sargent "Ole Bill' Tozer- The veteran Platoon-Sgt, Ole Bill is one of the very few who makes it all the way through the war with Bourne more or less in one piece. An old pre-war Regular soldier, he was one of the BEF's 'Old Contemptibles' who fought at Mons in August 1914. Burly, loud, fond of a drink and seemingly indestructable, Bill's roaring voice and courage help Charley and his fellows out of trouble time and time again.

Todd Juvinall

"jon" from Pike and Ridge and Bear, what is your educational levels?

Bill Tozer

Does anyone find it weird that the more victories Senator Cruz accumulates the lower his numbers go. Coincidentally, Hillary's numbers are going south as well against a seventy-four-year-old cretin.

Gregory

"Jon", funny, just 30 seconds ago you were proclaiming how neither you or anyone you know have a clue who I am, now you're musing that I begrudge Frisch and Pelline their "success". Both sell lies for a living; I guess there's a market for it.

Where is Gloria Zane when you need her?

PS for the record, I've never claimed "an advanced degree in Physics", nor have I claimed studying physics leads to anything besides an improved understanding of how the Universe works.

Walt

Yet "smart guy" the "jon" would tell us this was a great investment.

They are dropping like flies "jon". Another taxpayer boondoggle screws the pooch and goes tits up.

George Rebane

Speaking of govt subsidies, does anyone know of any 'sustainable energy' enterprise anywhere in the world that is not sustained by govt subsidies?

I anticipate that our socialist readers will again claim that all of private business is also govt subsidized because they use taxpayer funded infrastructure and market mangling 'protections' enforced by the govt gun. For the purposes of my question, we may safely ignore such claims.

George Rebane

Perusing the polling sites this morning, I note that ever higher percentages of Americans are 'angry' about how the federal govt operates. The fraction now stands at 8 out of 10. That definitely means that the local looney Leviathan loving lefties must belong to the remaining 20% dedicated to Big Bro. The humorous part is that they are so information free as to continue calling the rest of us (RR readers included) a fringe element of discontented right wingers - now that's 8 out of 10. Now if there was ever a time when I wished them to have an accurate view of what's going on ...

Walt

Dr.R.. I don't know if you have found this web site.
https://www.warhistoryonline.com/category/articles
It's full of great info and stories that might interest a history buff of the wars.
Nope, your not going to see most of this on the evening news. Fascinating none the less.
The historic finds that get reported on the pages,, man O man. Lost history, found again.
It's well worth a visit or two.

As for Doc's "taxpayer funded infrastructure",, those with the self imposed guilt trip
and drive those electric buggies, are ripping the rest of us "taxpayers" off. They are not paying "their fair share" of the road taxes.(at least that's what they are still called when we get taxed at the pump) So lets call a spade a spade. ECO deadbeats. Once again we are left to pick up "their" tab.

So, Mr. Fish, are you saying your dog ate your homework? Bet you stayed home and crashed for two weeks. Ok, ten days. Sure, you bought some stuff at the Home Depot for the Pete to do those projects. Sorry Walt - the EPA is not giving up it's newly found powers. The only reason they dropped the proposed rule was because it was completely unenforcible. They still believe that once a vehicle is manufactured for use in the US they have the right to oversee it's use and compliance with emission laws no matter how old it is or what it's current mode of operation. They are gunning for the aftermarket manufacturers of high performance accessories for cars and other motor vehicles. This isn't the end of the story. As is the case with most idiotic govt regulators, they do not understand the long term ramifications of their rule making nor do they care. They don't care if their rules mean an increase in unburned hydro carbons. The important thing is to maintain control over the population and increase their power and scope of operations. If this means a bigger budget and higher salaries, they are only too happy to go along with that coincidence.

Michael R. Kesti

My congratulations to The Union for the 10 awards it is slated to receive from the California Newspaper Publishers Association. It's always good to see the efforts of our neighbors recognized and honored.

San Francisco values indeed....

UPDATE: San Fran 4/20 Revelers Leave Behind 10K Pounds Of Trash...

http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2016/04/21/420-marijuana-smokeout-trash-golden-gate-park-hippie-hill/

George Rebane

fish 317pm - I think America can use the mountains of trash left behind as a litmus test to tell the ideology of the "revelers".

Jon

I don't think there's a whole lot of political ideology going on with those masses of wasted, careless heavy drug users. But nice try anyway.

George Rebane

Jon 513pm - Agreed. But it really doesn't take "a whole lot of political ideology" to be in the pocket of one socialist or another. All you have to do is take away from your most recent union school that 'the rich have it, they took it from me, and (fill in name) promises to get it back'.

Jon

Of course there were a few kids likely "Feeling the Bern" as they got high. But every one of the progressive/enviro folks I've ever met would call that group of people what they are- irresponsible, lawless pigs that need to grow up.

Walt

The "jon" should see the "protest" grounds after any Tea Party event.
Seems Conservatives have a whole different respect for "public" places.
If there was a cig. butt on the ground before they showed up, it would not be found after the event.
LIBS talk a good game, "save the planet" yet are the worst offenders of trashing it.

Bill Tozer

@ 5:22 PM
Lawless pigs? You would have thunk pigs should have evolved further up the ladder by now. Alas, it's not to be. Just look at the mountains of plastic trash the illegals and human smugglers leave in our protected wetlands on our southern border or the mountains of trash the illegal campers leave leave right here in our beautiful local towns. I sure hope that fire they started yesterday on Sutton Way burned up some of their piles of discarded garbage. Time to call them what they are-irresponsible, lawless pigs that need to grow up.

Don Bessee

MR. Fish, I saw another report that it was 15k lbs. of stoner trash that abused SF's Golden Gate Park on 4/20. Why is it that people in the weed culture say they are all such environmentally friendly, sustainable good neighbors who are only saving peoples lives in spite of all the evidence to the contrary everywhere we look?

Jon

Hay Walt, we just pointed out that the idiotic, immature weed users have no interest in politics. Liberal/conservative doesn't translate to them. Try as you may, pinning something political on a bunch of young druggies ain't going to fly. Young morons are apolitical. Let me know if you need a definition for that.

Thanks.

Jon

Walt, bigger question is why you would care about what goes on in Golden Gate Park? When was the last time you tred on its soil? LOL. You should be happy the Lib City is paying big bucks to clean up that mess.

..on another note and much more importantly...one of the 3 most important, and iconic, musical figures of the last 50 years passed away today.

Walt

Actually,, I was in Frisco not long ago. And even in Golden gate Park. It was an even better place before LIB riff raff got their sticky dope fingers on it.
Dad moved us out of there when he saw his first hippy. He knew it was all down hill for the city from that point on. He sure called that one.

Now how bout answering that question you dodged? You know,, "Name one thing "O" has improved on?" (now for the disappearing act)

Bill Tozer

Wonder if Prince got ahold of some of Michael Jackson's milk. Oh, he loved his milk. So did Joan Rivers. Got milk?
Also was wondering what K-Mart will do for The Artist Formerly Named Prince's passing. Probably another great sale like they had when Michael Jackson kicked the bucket: all boys pants and underwear half off.

Don Bessee

The 'jon' should take some time and see who the local comrade Bernie fans are, give you a hint, they are all the leaders of the local pot profiteer front groups and their crews. ;-)

Bill Tozer

Sad news. Today we lost a true icon.

"On her official website a statement posted Wednesday night reads, "Today we lost a true icon, a real life superhero. Joanie Laurer aka Chyna, the 9th Wonder of the World has passed away. She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her."

http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/1990s-wwe-star-chyna-dies-46-california/story?id=38562834

Jon

Good one Tozer. Not quite at the same historical level as Prince, but for some of the WWE persuasion it may have hit home equally hard.

Jon

Hay Walt, I can only imagine your anguish in being in the City these days...nary a right winger to be found anywhere you went. One of the great joys in life is to grab a bite at the Whole Foods on Haight, and find a good spot on a perfect Spring day. GG Park is one of my favorite places in the western world.

Walt

Since you refuse to answer , we can safely believe that you can't answer the question.
Despite your vaug reference of "DOME plenty to improve things".

Don Bessee

So its now being reported that Prince did not go to the hospital for the flu a few days ago. They are saying now that it was to get an emergency opioid overdose shot. Heroin? The flood of incredibly cheep heroin is proof of the lie that drug gangs would go away if we legalized weed. All the cartels did was rip up the low end weed fields in mexico and plant opium poppies. I was at a DEA event 2 years ago and the satellite pictures told us the flood was coming and it hit will full force by 2015. Legal weed is not going to make the scum bag drug dealers go away and abandon their distribution networks, it just made them shift products so new we have heroin going for 5 bucks a bag.

Don Bessee

I be remiss if failed to give 0 credit for his version of secure boarders being a contributing factor in the heroin flood.

Walt

Hear the latest from "O"? "Sovereignty is over rated." Now he's sticking his nose into the Brit's business.

Jon

"Despite your vaug reference of "DOME plenty to improve things". So says Walt

Dum Dee Dum Dum.. Walt, you may want to review your own scribes for spelling faux pas and note my use of such; ie. DOME, HAY, ARIA, etc.etc.

Walt

"jon", try reviewing your own damned post from the other thread. What did you do Smoke your homework? Looks like you attended dope day by the bay.

George Boardman

Re Bessee's 4/21 at 9:22 p.m.:

Atta boy, just latch onto any half-assed rumor floating around out there so you make a political point. You can at least wait until the autopsy is completed and the coroner files his report.

Care to speculate on how much staff time--i.e., taxpayer dollars--went into the research and writing of the article "co-authored" by Miller and Weston in today's edition of The Union? It reads like something that would come out of the county manager's office--this is to say, devoid of life and any spark of creativity.

Todd Juvinall

Most "rumors" are started by the press.

Brad C.

George B. - Yes, it reads like cut and paste from previously generated county communications.

• Uphold the current ban on outdoor cultivation and associated commercial marijuana activities. Indoor cultivation of up to 12 plants at a time would still be permitted in legal, non-residential structures. There is no limit on the size of the plants or the number of crops that can be grown in a year.

Q: Why do we need to put it on the ballot if we already have an ordinance?
My answer: Because they want to set it in "stone" since a voter initiate is much harder to amend or modify (except with another expensive ballot initiative).

• Help reduce the environmental damage from large outdoor grows such as discarding of trash, human waste, illegal use of pesticides, illegal grading, poisoning of wildlife, unauthorized diversion of water from streams and substandard storage of hazardous materials.

Comment: all of the above are problems common to many land uses in the rural neighborhoods. Trash dumps used to be in any convenient ravine on a quiet road. You still see old sofas, etc. on the sides of roads. Only MJ growers perform illegal grading, poison wildlife, leave haz waste lying around the yard?

Measure W is strictly about controlling nuisance, environmental and public safety impacts from outdoor grows. It is not about whether marijuana has medicinal properties or who should have access to it.

Comment: these things are enforceable with ordinances already on the books.

• Reduce neighborhood impacts such as traffic, odor, and criminal activity.

Q: traffic, seriously? When MJ is legal "criminal" won't be criminal.

• Relieve pressure on County social services programs such as mental and behavioral health, adult/child protective services and welfare.

Q: Huh? Maybe concentrate on meth, booze.

• Re-define Nevada County’s legacy as safe and welcoming for families and new businesses.

Comment: Re-define? What is this area, the hillbilly South Central LA?

Walt

Come on Boardman,, you have access to the same info all of us do.
http://www.tmz.com/2016/04/22/prince-od-percocet-death/
Do a little looking before being so quick on the trigger. Ya' just shot off your pinky toe.

Jon

Agree with George Boardman, as I often do. An attempt to somehow connect the Prince rumors to some twisted justification to implement Measure W is surely the work of a desperate politico. I take the same position as SYRCL on Measure W.

However, one thing that will never fly with rationale thinking Americans is to connect the tragic national opiod epidemic to small time MJ use.

Walt

I know there are plenty on the Left that like the 2ND Amendment.
Now take a look see at what the spawn of Clinton has to say.
http://dailycaller.com/2016/04/22/chelsea-clinton-gun-control-is-possible-because-scalia-died-video/
We have always said, we are one judge away from losing the 2ND.

Todd Juvinall

MJ is a gateway drug isn't it "jon"? I bet you know all about needles and opiates, right?

George Boardman

Really, Walt, TMZ? No wonder you believe Trump.

By the way, The Donald says it's okay for transgender people to use any bathroom they want. Do you agree with your guy Trump?

Jon

Walt. Such a scholar with his Breitbart, Daily Caller, TMZ links...par for the course. Next up- Newsmax.

Hay Walt, Drumpf stands with the transgender community. Sounds like a RHINO to me, and to many in the Evangelical and Tea Bag community.

Bill Tozer

It has puzzled me that since most of the heroin in our country is coming across our southern border, then why not secure that border??. Sure, you can't plug all the leaks, but maybe a few dozen breaches. Already the cartels and smugglers are making plans to get narcotics into the US should Trump build the Great Wall. Plan B is on the drawing board. Drones might be the new mules.
It just shows us that we have no political will to stem the flow of smack, aka, H, aka, Horse, aka, heroin. No political will.

Jon

Todd, Steve Frisch always said it best when describing you- The Village Idiot.
With your last commentary at 10:10AM, you have once again confirmed his observation.

Todd Juvinall

Sorry "jon" I am much smarter than Frisch and when a tax cheat like him (liened by local fed and state agencies) disses me I use that as a badge of honor. I would say you did not answer my question because you are guilty. That is you style. Sort of fifth grade stuff you post here all the time.

Todd Juvinall

GeorgeB, what is your opinion of the National Enquirer on the Edwards expose"?

Jon

Todd, it must GALL you to no end to know every school in America is celebrating EARTH DAY today, and celebrations will be taking place everywhere in the country and world this weekend. The Paris Accord is being signed today! The debate about environmentalism is over. The environment has won.

Todd Juvinall

No "jon" I actually admire the ability of the commies to have generated this emotion from the great unwashed like you. You and the fifth graders you emulate are in need of a reality check.
