Godspeed Princess Leia!

Remember all you lefty Obama fellators.....crisis deferred.....not averted! Sugar Frosted Barry O's had eight years to bring the banks to heel but instead foisted a Dead on Arrival "healthcare" program written mostly by Nancy and Harry and their minions but with Barrys legacy forever stapled to it!

Eight Years After an Epic Banking Crash, America’s Biggest Threat Is Still Its Banks

Todd Juvinall

She's gone to the force. God Bless Princess Leia!

Bill Tozer

While the MSM and Leftist (again, excuse the redundancy) are still freaking out about Trump, he is placing his Administration in place. Most all have been proven to excel in their fields. Each has proven they know how to win, how to get it done. Leaders. Men and women of incredible accomplishments.

While the Leftists and Media are freaking out about Trump's style, Dr. Rebane has picked up on Trump's substance. Education, Health and Human Services, Defense, State, etc.

Christie got axed from the Transition Team because the Governor was bringing in lobbists and Establishment swamp things. He got fired and no severance package.
I would wager anyone that Trump's inner circle will not be exactly the same in 2 years. Somebody will not be up to par and they will be fired.

Sure, I am not on board with everybody yet, but I will keep an open mind. A Goldman Sacs Executive at Treasury is what many Presidents have chosen for decades. If the Treasury Secretary has made a ton of money for Sacs, that was his job and he did it well. Now he will have a different job and he will excel, as an example. Better than pulling academics and know nothing's out of academia with so-so track records like Timmy G, or Loretta Lynch and that Latinx Supreme Court Justice whose record as Solitictor General up against SCOTUS was 0-9. Straight from academia and a proven loser. Obama picked a low level so-so undistinguished company lawyer to head Justice, lol.

The Cabinet picks are of utmost importance because they will face a liberal ingrained bureaucracy that will oppose everything. Seemingly unmovable mountains. We need people at the helm who are not only problem solvers, but can tear down walls to get it down. Winners.

Least we forget, we need Cabinet heads that have the judgement to appoint great undersecretaries and form good teams. Leaders and winners excel in all their endeavors. Cream rises to the top.

Ben Carson lacks administrative experience, which is a legitimate concern. But Dr. Carson's character will be a guiding light and already is an inspiration to millions. Not all insiders are bad, neither are all outsiders great leaders. Nobody will get everyone they want, but it is shaping up to be an opposition slaying team to get 'er done.

Obama fired Gen. Mattis to please Muslims. Trump hired Mattis to kill jihadists. Either way, our nation has a long history of military leaders obeying civilian commanders, so I am not too concerned about military men in our gov't. Whether walk of life, Trump is assembling proven winners who have overcome great obstacles.

Todd Juvinall

The swamp is a well known entity to many. Take the Department of Education. Please! The whole department is of now use. Toss it. Energy? Maybe a couple of small parts could stay but it can go too. Interior? Give the lands back to the states and get out. Who needs a BLM cop here on our local lands? And I think we need local control. Overhaul the Commerce Clause rulungs by the SCOTUS and get us back to the enumerated document. There is much more.

I am a follower of Dr Jerry Pournelle starting way back in the days of Byte magazine. He now has a blog and shares his thoughts on computers science, space, technology and anything else that interests him. Below is a recent observation about the Trump Organization. Richard is his son.

With Richard here we naturally turned to discussions of space. Richard told me of a meeting with an old friend, and I think one-time colleague (they were both Congressional staff members). His friend now works for Trump and is to be posted to an Assistant Secretary position where among other things he’ll write speeches for his Secretary. Richard joked about doing outrageous Twitter posts. His friend turned mildly serious. “Oh, no. I’m in Trumpland. In Trumpland only the boss is allowed to say outrageous things.” I thought about that. I’m still thinking about it.

I do not recall any senior member of Trump’s team saying anything outrageous, or even silly, either formally or off the cuff, while working for Trump. There must have been instances, but I don’t recall them. Trump’s people maintain Dignitas; that seems obvious now that I think of it; maybe it’s one of Trump’s less well known abilities.

I can recall some of the early contenders for Secretary positions saying some off the wall stupid things, and they were soon out of the running. Saying outrageous things must be part of Trump's calculated strategy for disrupting the establishment. So many on the left seem to fall into his trap. It will be interesting to watch and see is any of his new Secretaries join the Twitter Storm.

Bill Tozer

Russ, you are beginning to grasp the way Trump ticks. No nonsense from underlings and they are amazingly happy and reasonable, yet serious, life loving people. Watch The Donald as he reduces the feeble to stuffing cheesecake into their pie holes whilst The Boss creates the openings for the team to pass through to get er done. Planned chaos from the top to get the opposition off balance and keep them that way and looking in all the wrong places. Controlling the narrative and changing the narrative when necessary.

I am beginning to liken Trump to Barnum and Bailey. Great promoter under the spotlight, but the real show is going on by the supporting cast. And all the cast of characters have experience and know better than to ever not walk into the lion's cage without a whip and chair. I say this affectionitly.

Probably coming to a local pot farm near you........

Government Destroys Couple's Rights Over Rainwater: "If You're Honest, They Take Everything Away"

Yep.....this kind of thing will help usher in deep blue majorities in your neck of the woods for as far as the eye can see.....eh Paul!

jon smith

Russ . . . are you seriously restating the quote, "I do not recall any senior member of Trump’s team saying anything outrageous, or even silly, "?

It seems like only yesterday Trump's right hand gal was saying she could see Russia from her back porch. Or, "People don't electhe president, God does."

And where could we start with dearly quotable Dr. Carson? How about, "The Big Bang is a “fairy tale” and the notion of evolution was encouraged by the devil." or his belief that Joseph built Egypt's pyramids to store grain. And according to Mr. Wizard, Hillary is STILL hiding stolen children under some pizza shop.

George Rebane

jons 140pm - I take it this comment is your latest attempt at humor. So noted.

Todd Juvinall

jon smith | 27 December 2016 at 01:40 PM

That is pretty funny. In fact Palin is not his right hand gal and she never said that about Russia. That was from a SNL skit. But you "fake news" people don't know the difference. What a hoot!

Bill Tozer

Water fall from sky must hit Mother Earth first or pay up.

"And where do we get the $14.8 billion? By taxing so-called “impervious surfaces,” anything that prevents rain water from seeping into the earth (roofs, driveways, patios, sidewalks, etc.) thereby causing stormwater run off. In other words, a rain tax."

But, but, but what if it rains more on one part of the county than another? It's not fair!
Update: The rain "tax" has been repealed, kinda sorta....well, not for everybody, just for some here and there. . But the "fees" remain. What a surprise. Was it Shakespear that said the first thing you do in a revolution is to kill all the lawyers? If not, somebody said it. :).

Paul Emery

Looks like Trump and Gregory are out on a limb alone on this one

"Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (SC) said Tuesday that President-elect Donald Trump was wrong to deny that Russian hackers interfered with the 2016 election in the United States.

“There are 100 United States senators,” Graham said during a CNN interview. “I would say that 99 of us believe the Russians did this and we’re going to do something about it. … After this trip is over, we’re going to have the hearings and we’re going to put sanctions together that hit Putin as an individual and his inner circle for interfering in our election.”

The senator went on to accuse Russia of interfering with democratic elections all over the world.

Bill Tozer

Obama is still President! He can sign the bill anytime he chooses.

BTW, the FDIC just got hacked.

Yawn. Those 2 million personnel files hacked from the OBM is one for the record books. Those Chinese are greedy things.

Read the full quote "while working for Trump" What they said before WORKING for Trump is not discussed in the quote. Sharpen your reeading skills!

Paul Emery

It is sad Fish to have our President elect so far out of touch with even his own party. Thanks for agreeing with me.

Bill Tozer

Topic: Israel, that tiny country nobody cares about.

Ok, I have been waiting for weeks for someone to comment about Trump and Israel. Nothing to do with the Obama Administration yesterday at the UN reversing 40 years of USA policy. No, this comment I am referring to has not been discussed hardly at all. To me, it has Biblical implications. It was a statement Trump made weeks ago and he has repeated a few times.

That statement is putting the US Embassy in the Holy City of Jerusalem. Jerusalem, known as the 3rd most Holy Place to Islam, but known as the Holiess Place of the Jewish faith. Numbero Uno.

Moving the embassy from Tel Aviv to the Holy City of Jerusalem is a shock wave. The heart of the Jewish God has never been the tribes of Judah or Israel itself. No, the heart of Israel's God is smack dab on Jerusalem and all blessing from the God to Israel flow forth from Jerusalem. Salem if you prefer. Trump's announcement sent a big middle finger to the Arab world and sent an unprecedented signal of support to the Jewish Holy Land of Israel. Trump, in effect, said Jerusalem IS the capital of Israel.

Hidden yesterday in the UN resolution about Israeli settlements that Obama refused to block was buried language about Jerusalem being outside of Israel's civic control.
Trump's message to Israel and building the US embassy in Jerusalem is 180 degrees from Obama, who puts Muslims first and foremost in all things concerning Muslim-Israeli disputes.

The two state solution in Palestine (Golda Meir once remarked "There is no Palenstine")
from the Arab point of view is a continual land mass from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip with the capital the Holy City of Jerusalem. Included is the Golan Heights. Yesterday's UN decision inched closer to that view.

The MSM was screaming that Trump advisor Steve Bannin is an anti-Semite, a White Supremist, lol. Well, look who Trump chose to be our ambassador to Israel. One David Friedman, a rabid pro-Israel supporter if their ever was one.

Whether Brannon is an anti-Semite or not (those charges have been debunked), Trump is definitely his own man. The US Embassy in Jerusalem is a total game changer for US-Arab-Israeli relations. A biggie with Biblical proportions. Just one man's opinion.

Time to lay off politics Paul. It's time to remind you the Trump election was the American right dropping it's collective pants, so the GOP can kiss it's ass. You know, the old guard "establishment"? So " President elect so far out of touch with even his own party" statement holds no water.

Bill Tozer

Evening Walt. Thinking of ya....

Paul Emery

Todd, George

Your compadre Walt has this to say about your beloved GOP.

"Trump election was the American right dropping it's collective pants, so the GOP can kiss it's ass. You know, the old guard "establishment"?

That is a far meaner assessment of the Repubs than I have ever mustered. Where does that leave the party loyalists such as you?

Posted by: Paul Emery | 27 December 2016 at 04:39 PM

It is sad Fish to have our President elect so far out of touch with even his own party. Thanks for agreeing with me.

Oh I'm not agreeing with you......what I am doing is chuckling mightily at your continued citing of the junior...or "bottom" member if you will of the senates "Ambiguously Gay Duo" as evidence in your ongoing case of election hacking. And frankly I'm a little surprised that an Out and Proud Libertarian like yourself isn't thrilled that the president elect is "out of touch" with his party.

It certainly looks like he was "in touch" enough with the electorate to win the election....so there's that.

Paul Emery

So when long time Senators and GOP loyalists such as Graham and McCain say 99 Senators believe there was Russian interference in our elections you don't believe them,

Ambiguously Gay Duo" ???? don't get it.. Can you help me with what you're trying to say?

Paul Emery

George and Todd meet Walt, representative of the New Republican Party under Trump.

Paul Emery

Todd, it gets worse the more you look at it for the Repubs in Nevada County In the June primary the total Dem vote for President was 22,150 the Repubs were only 15,114 that's with 68.25% of the electorate, one of the highest in the State. By the way that's 60% Dems 40% Repubs
There were 650 votes cast for third parties.

Here's the link

Paul Emery

Todd, if you look at this interactive map of Nevada County Novelections you'll find hat virtually all of Grass Valley, Nevada City and Truckee voted for Hillary. The large bron Trump area between Nevada City and Truckee only amounts to a total of around 75 votes cast despite it's size. Trump does fake Penn Valley and the South County but that's about is. NC is looking bluer every time I look at it.

George Rebane

PaulE 732pm - "party loyalists" - me??!! Paul, you have again demonstrated that you either don't read RR or you don't understand what you read here.

Todd Juvinall

Paul Emery, say what? You are not reading the responses I have made to your direct questions and assertions on this today. Are you OK? I have looked at the maps, stated I like them and then agreed NC, GV and Truckee go left for Hillary but right for local and state. So what is your problem?

Paul Emery

Was opposing Measure W and supporting Prop 64 voting "right" ? Also the various school bond issues.

When was the last time you didn't support a Republican for any major office? You seem like a loyalist to me when it comes down to it. Have you ever voted Libertarian for example?

Bill Tozer

This is sad, getting pathetic. Dr. Rebane, perhaps you should give Paul his own Sandbox and let him circle the barn there about pot and local issues in Quainty Town. Like, what's Measure W and who cares a lick or even heard of W 50 miles from here? Or, come up with a new topic like Cabinet picks or The Union or some topic to take refugee in. Just a suggestion. It is painfully obvious that Paul is totally unaware of the hundreds of posts concerning the need to rip up the GOP and start anew. It all started with the Tea Party and what started as a spark turned into a prairie fire in 2016 and it is just beginning to really take off.

I got it!! How about a local issue only Sandbox....like games about who can even name all of some tiny county's Supervisors or the name of Tiny Towns' mayors and impotent stuff like that. At least it would keep the insanity in one spot. Boy, everlasting turmoil and frustration. It just don't compute.

Why did the moron quit pounding his head with the hammer? Because it felt so good when he stopped.

Posted by: Paul Emery | 27 December 2016 at 07:58 PM

So when long time Senators and GOP loyalists such as Graham and McCain say 99 Senators believe there was Russian interference in our elections you don't believe them

Why do you feel that they are to be believed on the issue at this point in time?

Todd Juvinall

Kinda funny hw Paul Emery keeps citing McCain and Graham. I consider tem war mongers. But hey whatever works for the twisted policy positions of PE.

Now that he's moving into a well earned retirement it's time for a "top ten" list of his pithiest offerings.....

Thomas Sowell: 10 great quotes

1. "It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance."

2. "Socialism in general has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it."

3. "Much of the social history of the Western world, over the past three decades, has been a history of replacing what worked with what sounded good."

4. "Each new generation born is in effect an invasion of civilization by little barbarians, who must be civilized before it is too late."

5. "The problem isn't that Johnny can't read. The problem isn't even that Johnny can't think. The problem is that Johnny doesn't know what thinking is: he confuses it with feeling."

6. "The black family survived centuries of slavery and generations of Jim Crow, but it has disintegrated in the wake of the liberals' expansion of the welfare state."

7. "The welfare state is not really about the welfare of the masses. It is about the egos of the elites."

8. "I have never understood why it is 'greed' to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else's money."

9. "No one will really understand politics until they understand that politicians are not trying to solve our problems. They are trying to solve their own problems — of which getting elected and re-elected are number one and number two. Whatever is number three is far behind."

10. "People who enjoy meetings should not be in charge of anything."

He will be missed!

Todd Juvinall

Hear the latest from "Horse face" Kerry? Another one to chisel in stone into the book of idiotic sayings of "that" side.

Progressive Kalifornians can be either Marxists or Americans. They can't be both.

Bill Tozer

Interesting how the White House phrases the UN Resolution. They say they did not do any influence arm twisting "on the first draft of the resolution which was pulled Thursday. But another was submitted the next day. Obama speak.

Bill Tozer

Walt: more Dem tricks. Why am I not surprised...

The real reason Hillary lost......and from an impeccable libertarian source......I know how important that is to you Paul! Properly sourced libertarian information....being that you're a libertarian and all!

Forget the Russians and Comey: Hillary Lost Because She Didn't Bring Out the Obama Coalition

Breakdown in traditional voting blocs for Dems and Reps alike means big opportunities for libertarian-style policies.

Bill. The Commies of Kalif won't have to do much to the state,, I mean National flag.
It already has the "red star",, and the free range bear is already extinct.

Lindsey Graham is also on the record that he doesn't think the Russians actually affected the election outcome.

Paul, we're still waiting for real information as to what the Russians actually did that supposedly threw the election to Trump, and if it was merely an act of giving Wikileaks actual emails showing corruption among the DNC faithful (and again, WikiLeaks actively refutes this), what does Paul think is an adequate response?

Spies spy. That's what they do. No, I am not shocked (Shocked!) the KGB's man at the top is spying on the DNC. Does anyone think former CIA director President George HW Bush was above reading Soviet Union internal mail? Or is surprised that Obama had the NSA tap Angela Merkel's phone for years?

To keep your fake outrage going, Paul, you will need to eventually demonstrate cause and effect. Good luck wid dat.

Bill Tozer

Can the whole election can be distilled down to something as simple as saying, "I love coal"?? You betcha.

"But millions supported Trump because he spoke to them. They saw what everyone else saw, and while Democrats and establishment Republicans were appalled, they liked it.
They like his unpolished demeanor. They like his outlandish promises. They like what he says about politicians, immigrants, Black Lives Matter activists, highly educated urban elites, and politically correct college kids.
Most of all, they like that he pisses off people they don't like."

Quilty as charged!!

From the same link above, Paulie and Hilary Hodges explained:

When you believe strongly in something, it's hard to accept that most of your fellow citizens do not. Especially when you surround yourself with like-minded people, and get your information from like-minded media. But the evidence that a majority of Americans are eager to pay higher taxes, and give up their employer-provided health insurance, in exchange for a European-style welfare state is nonexistent.

And now, one for the road: Darn them Rooskies

Here is the quote from Palin, "They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska".

- 'lefty Obama fellators' (fish) - 'the best part of libs ran down their mama's leg' (or something to that effect by BillT on another thread)...seems a bit excessive. You guys won the election, and both the House and Senate.

Are the evil doers coming around to the capitalist way?

Posted by: BradC | 28 December 2016 at 01:05 PM

When I stop hearing progressive democrats saying that Obama saved the economy while making no mention of the additional 10 trillion in debt larded upon the citizenry I'll tone down my criticism of said supporters.

Acceptable Brad?

While I certainly can't claim to be much of a fan of Islamic society as it is presently constituted I certainly understand the impulse to not hold currencies of questionable worth. Dollar is strong now.....probably won't be as by the end of Trumps term!

Looks like Islam is gettin while the gettin is good!

Todd Juvinall

Here BradC@105. You are responding to something different.

Not saying Brad got his info from there,, but MANY a Lefty thinks SNL is a legit news source.

OK folks, Hear where the ground is shaking today? Not far from Calif.'s vary own super volcano.(otherwise known as Mammoth Lakes)

Bill Tozer

Brad C @ 1:05 am.

Yep, that quote is from 2008 I believe. No, it had to be from 2008 right after McCain chose Palin as his running mate. Boy, Sister Sarah got smoked and dried like Alaskan salmon for that one. Lampooned relentlessly. I love that quote because I can now use it to alleviate the fears of one particular poster concerned the Bromance of 'Trump and Putin sitting in a tree' is not to be worrisome because Sarah is keeping an eye on them from her porch....whether she said backdown or frontdoor does not really matter. She has an eye out for Putin. :)

"The best thing about jomama" is a great line to use, albeit best when used most sparingly and strategically. Certainly sticks in people's minds for some odd reason. Again, used to target one particular poster. A scalpel, not a broadbrush.

But, if you are growing weary of us drawing pentalty flags for excessive celebrating in the end zone, I must respectfully disagree. We can't do the spiking of the ball thing because there has been an never never ending assault on our victory dance...FBI stole the election from My Gal, we are White Supremists, the recounts, the Russians...the popular vote, and I am sure there may be another burning arrow heading our way any day now.

Geeze Brad, all the celebration and dancing around the pole with Hillary's head on it would have been all over and done by now.....but no, there is always that particular one who obsessively (and relentlessly) tosses cold water on our bonfire and ruins a perfectly good party chant of "Kill the Beast, Kill the Beast." Thus, this spiking the ball in the end zone continues long after it's scheduled time. We, sir, are the victims here, but are determined to do the victory dance until we can finally have a few hours of uninterpution. Is that too much to ask?

Take comfort that the mention (and memory) of My Gal fades into the mist of yesterday with each passing day. We be forward looking here. We have heard the laminations of their woman. No use kicking a dead mule.

I suppose waiting to see our enemies driven before us and drinking blood from their skulls will not ever happen due to one particular poster. One bad apple soils the whole party barrel. Take heart, we are moving on to the next game on the schedule.

Bill Tozer

Fish @ 11:47.
Great link! The one thing I got wrong on the election was I figured it was the optimum time for the rise of a third party. Both major party candidates unliked deeply.....perfect opening. That wacky Perot got 18% against Bubba and even Jon Anderson did well in his time..did better than Gary J and Jill S. Guess they lacked the personality. A little personality goes a long way. Yep, I really thought the 3rd Party would rise in 2016. Then again, Trump did suck all the oxygen out of the room, IMHO.

Exit polls I saw had the still undecided heading to the polling booths on Election Day broke for Trump 70-30 for Trump. Trump took your independents. Sorry. :(

Look at the bright side. Rand Paul got more electoral votes (1) than Bernie (0) and Colin Powell did not even run and he got 3 electoral votes. Go figure.

Paul Emery

Let me ask you this about the Russian interference in our elections allegations. Do you thinkthere is enough concern to have a full investigation into the mater?

Bill Tozer

Fun: Let's project and make predictions. I chose C for #5, 7, and 8 at first glance.

Account Deleted

I see that Paul has decided to bypass any actual proof that the Russians caused any disruption in American politics and wants to know about an investigation.
The fact is that the CIA won't provide any evidence to back up their claim.
Paul is mute on that point.
As always.
Answer this Paul: how can we have a full investigation of a 'thing' when there is no evidence that the 'thing' even exists?
Paul is mute.

Bill Tozer

The biggest ones float to the top. Steve's buddies. It's all out the money

Paul 558

Would you please summarize the evidence that gives you such concern in the matter. You know, that who what where why when stuff that I asked you about before.

George Rebane

ScottO 1011pm - Right now the entire Russian interference affair is at a 'she said he said' level. That Obama believes the Russians interfered should mean next to nothing since he is one of the biggest documented National Liars. Given that, I would be surprised if it isn't part of Russia's policy to hack into every significant server and digital storage facility in the world. We most certainly have been doing it forever. Should we investigate? Well yes, but that can and should be done as a routine task under our cyber warfare program, and not as a public federal case. PaulE can do no better than to attempt to blow up a little dust devil in these pages.

George Rebane

Received an email from our Designated Reader this morning that reports Union columnist Hilary Hodge is "going to stand up to our local deplorables in 2017" but apparently can't get anyone to give a big rat's asset. She is "begging" local leftwingers to respond to her call to "drown out hate" (aka anything she disagrees with) with comments. It seems the whole problem arises because more reasonable voices in the community "allow" non-progressive sentiments to be expressed in blogs and the local media.

Bill Tozer

Meanwhile, Putn and Turkey and Iran are brokering a ceasefire in Syria. With Kerry and Zerobama locked out, this might hold more than 48 hours.

Checking the time stamps on comments following the latest Hodge column at the Union and there has been a liberal rush to support the author, with 8 comments added today. Time for some more conservative counter arguments on lost innocence.

George Rebane

Russ 1138am - Comment wars about Hodges' hodgepodge columns? Right now I'm busy looking for my 'I'm sorry, but you have me confused with someone who gives a crap' button. While the lady has every right to be heard, I wish her columns would find a more appropriate environment in the Personal Reflections and Emotional Traumas section of the paper.

Now where did I put that button?

Hodge is afflicted with the Progressive disease that deludes the sufferer into being convinced that folks who don't share their opinions are either evil or ignorant. The first step towards recovery is understanding their own failings and approaching the subject with a bit more humility and respect for others.

Those of us who had a part in actually creating the Internet thank you for using it, but just having access to the information is only the start; it still takes some self control study to actually learn, rather than just marvel at the words, pictures and sounds flying by. In other words, any good library already has enough information to keep most people learning for an entire lifetime, including Ms. Hodge.

Catching up at Nevada City Fat's blog, I see that even Judith Lowry has become too right wing for Jeff's liking.

Judith, you are in good company.

Bill Tozer

I always admired and respected Judith's independence of thought. And her reasonableness. Here is a long video I posted under Hilary's column. No, it's not 2 hours long and it's from 2004 after W beat Kerry. It's about independent thought, conservatives and minorities, about 30 minutes long. I think Gregory will like parts of it, I assume Judith will too. Maybe Fish and Brad C. By the former head of the LA chapter of Now, among other accomplishments. Interesting. Relevant in 2016, post election.

For those who have some time to kill.....

BT, reading the speech to text transcript devoid of punctuation or proper capitalization led me to sections that were unassailable... yes, the ability to take one's opponent seriously is key to real debate, and it's the left who are reactionarily dismissive of anyone who disagrees with them.

Anyone dismissive of the Right as "pubbers" is suffering from delusions of superiority.

It's also no coincidence that Rebane, IMO far more conservative than libertarian, hosts the most open blog in the County.

Scott Adams of Dilbert fame also talks about all the death threats he got after he endorsed Trump that stopped as soon as he pretended to change his mind and be a Clinton supporter. Someone on her side should slap Ms. Hodge silly, metaphorically speaking, of course... it's her people that are selling real hate. It was the Clinton campaign who were hiring modern Brownshirts to make trouble in the streets.

Why do so many really fat men look like menopausal women?

"... if your head is still spinning from that mindf***, or you can't quite believe a malignant narcissist will now sit in the Oval Office, or if you are simply still working your way through the 17 stages of grief, then I am here to say to you, 'There's no crying in TrumpLand -- Let's get to work!'"

One complaint with Mikes analysis......"or you can't quite believe another malignant narcissist will now sit in the Oval Office".

FTFY fat bastard!

Bill Tozer

Gregory @ 2:17 pm

Not sure if I follow you exactly, but it's all good. The part of the group think, the group identity, the inability to grow individually and think for yourself outside the group identity is what I picked up....the ole individual potential and thus responsibility (conservative for lack of a better term) as opposed to not being able/forbidden to go past the group identity (today's liberalism) is what I got out of it. The first 10 minutes was just background credentials to set the stage, IMHO.

Either way, almost all my favorite authors are people like Tammy Bruce who somehow found their way out of tribal identity to develop as a whole person. See you guys been busy today with the Russian thang. :)

Don Bessee

BT @ 547 - Having fun with PE on the Russian thang a dang dang. ;-)

Bill Tozer

Change of topic briefly.......Charles let his humor slip out again.

It is amazing to me that such a tiny speck of land has consumed some many US Presidents and our best forgein policy efforts to "solve the problem" for so many years with such little to show for it.

It is even more amazing to me that tiny tiny tiny Israel with no natural resources in her countryside has developed into a modern technological advanced democracy in unheard of record time.... in barren wasteland.

Also fascinating is the fact that any Arab in Israel has more freedoms and rights than any other Arab has in the entire Muslim world.

Puzzling to me is with all the land mass that is contained in the Arab world, none have developed the thriving advanced society, technological advances, or diverse economy that matches tiny Israel. Sure, Lebanon once bragged about Beirut, the Paris of the Mediterranean, but then the PLO moved in and the place went to the dogs.

The whole Israel story is fairly unique in the annuals of recorded history. Every country in history has been invaded at one time or another or been the invader. With all the blending of cultures and tribes, the taking of slaves and being enslaved, the Hebrew language is the only language that remains intact (unaltered) from its earliest known roots.

I find it amazing, but that is just me...and I am not Jewish.

Ok, back to the Chinese and their devasting hacks costing us billions upon billions...er...strike that....back to Russian and their GDP about the same as California and the hacks that cost Hillary's Establishment 1.5 billion.

Todd Juvinall

BillT are you picking on Hillary? Bigboy is outraged. What a hoot!

Bill Tozer

Todd, what? . No name calling, just some points of disagreements and one suggestion to seek comfort with nice piece of cheesecake.. Some people took Castro's death rather hard. I did like it when the vehicle carrying the corpse broke down and had to be pushed to the ceremony. A fitting tribute.

Todd Juvinall

Oh it is fun to see how ridiculous he is. He actually posted the comment in my 1023 and called it a name. I truly think he is a lonely person.

Bill Tozer

You can't make this stuff up. At least he clarified we are a purple county. Unpleasant is the color of Royalty. Hear that Paul. We are not a blue county, we are purple. I have it from an impeccable non-deplorable source.

Ralph Peters Sums Up Obama's Mideast Policy in Six Words

Peters described the president's Mideast policy in just six words: "praise Muslims, ignore Christians, blame Jews."

I was never a Peter's fan, but I think he is spot on!

Paul Emery

On another topic why does Trump allow such outright racists such as Carl Paladino be part of his team? Paladino iss vice chair of Trump's New York campaign and a major fundraiser.

"“Michelle Obama,” he wrote. “I’d like her to return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla.”

"“Obama catches mad cow disease after being caught having relations with a Herford,” he wrote. “He dies before his trial and is buried in a cow pasture next to Valerie Jarret, who died weeks prior, after being convicted of sedition and treason, when a Jihady cell mate mistook her for being a nice person and decapitated her.” (Valerie Jarrett, who is black, is senior adviser to Obama. She is not dead.)"

Paul, how many times are you going to repeat that?

The election is over, the link to Paladino is already severed. No one is rushing to Paladino's aid.

We all realize guilt by association is all you have.

Paul Emery

A racist like Paladino doesn't just blurt something like that out Gregory. Link is severed? How do you know that? Usually someone who is vice chair of an election committee in the most populated State in the Union gets special treats. How do you know Trump isn't returning he favor. Word is hs is a long time racist with a well established history.

What was the evidence he was a racist before that one, Paul?

A former candidate for NY governor, his only office was on a school board, and he's apparently been kicked out. I've done some googling, I can't see any indication he'd been enough of an insider to be asked for a Trump White House interview, let alone being offered a spot... so much for them being buddies, Paul.

Paul Emery

You don't have a clue Gregory about the payback when you are vice chair of a state like new york. Do you think he did that because he thinks Trump is a swell guy? YOu are are hopelessly naive.

I'm off the clock for a couple of days

Happy New Year

Paul, I repeat the question you ignored:
What was the evidence he was a racist before that one, Paul?

NY was a non event for the Trump campaign. like California, approximately zero chance for any electoral votes. My expectation is that Paladino was a rough SOB who got a largely ceremonial position in exchange for a large campaign donation. A large wallet will always find a spot... or are you so "hopelessly naive" to not know that?

Don Bessee

A going away present for PE-

Don, don't worry, it's a slam dunk. Paul tells me so.

Then there's this one from the hit parade of 2012:

TRUE! He did it!

Note for you hard right jerkwads, use snopes when they make your point for you, not Fox Snooze. Think maybe Obama was sucking up to Putin through Medvedev? Think maybe water is wet?

Barry Pruett

Putin's response to Obama's sanctions and expulsion of diplomats...

"We will not expel anyone. We will not prevent their families and children from using their traditional leisure sites during the New Year's holidays. Moreover, I invite all children of U.S. diplomats accredited in Russia to the New Year and Christmas children's parties in the Kremlin," Putin added.

Obama is making Russians like Putin even more than they do. We'll never get rid of Putin with Obama playing "go fish" and Putin playing chess. Putin's made Obama (and the USA) look small in Russians' eyes.

That didn't take long.. Treason?, Really????
"Trump “raises the specter of treason” by not agreeing with claims that Russia hacked the election."
But not Hillary's illegal sever, nor TOP SECRET info on Carlos Danger's perv computer....

Bill Tozer

Paul Emery

Putin knows that help is on the way.

Exxon is the one who really wants sanctions lifted duh Guess whose Sec of State

"Exxon has turned into a collateral victim of the U.S. economic sanctions against Russia. So while supermajor BP’s chief executive Bob Dudley said earlier this week that he was “a little saddened” with the way the Deepwater Horizon movie has painted his company, Exxon’s Rex Tillerson has perhaps an even greater reason to be a little saddened.

Exxon, the world’s biggest oil and gas company by value, entered Russia in the 1990s and has enjoyed a long and fruitful presence there. This presence was set to expand further with Exxon’s plans to take part in the exploration and exploitation of the country’s Arctic shelf. Unfortunately for Exxon, the U.S. and the EU hit Russia with sanctions over the annexation of Crimea and its support for Eastern Ukrainian rebels."

Here's the details that should p;lease a techie guy like you

The FBI squarely blamed Russian intelligence services on Thursday for meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, releasing the most definitive report yet on the issue, including samples of malicious computer code said to have been used in a broad hacking campaign.....

While the Department of Homeland Security and Office of the Director of National Intelligence had said Russia was behind the hacking in October, the report is the first detailed technical analysis provided by the government and the first official FBI statement.

Don Bessee

I see your huffpo and raise you a rolling stone @325. ;-)

Paul, you are still stuck in the same loop... the issue isn't "did someone in Russia hack", or how did they hack, it's what did they do that compromised our election?

You seemed to think it was OK to steal Trump's tax return and make it public, as long as they didn't change it, committing a fraud.

The worst you seem to be charging is that the Russkies stole files with embarrassing emails showing dirty tricks by Dems against Dems and Dems against Republicans, and then they released faithful copies to the public domain. No fraud, and they weren't doing anything that the NY Times wouldn't have done against a Richard Nixon in the past.

But we still have Assange and WikiLeaks being adamant that the Russians didn't provide the files.

That Puffington Host link sheds no new light. There's no there there.

Todd Juvinall

PE dances to his own drummer. He is not that up on things and even his use of links is not that good. He needs to move to Floriston where the other three Johnson supporters live.

Paul. To quote a disgraced Progressive,, " at this point just what difference does it make?" If it was a disgruntled staffer, or a Rusky youth? Your more pissed that the truth got out. The Left hates the truth. The rule of law means jack shit as far as the likes of "O" and Co.,,and Hillary are concerned. The truth came back to bite in spades.

Don Bessee

He needs to move his tired Russian rants to the Dark Lords Liberal Lament Land so they can all get their tinfoil hats on and have a ball. ;-)

Paul needs to get to the bottom of this.

Drudge made "O" look bad, retaliation was swift. How bout it Paul? The soon to be gone LIB administration attacking Right leaning news sites. What's worse? Someone leaking dirty LIB laundry, or pure malicious gov. attacks?

Everyone is subject to believing BS that fits their preexisting narratives. Right now, Dems are continuing on their stampede towards the only possible path that leads to a crippled Trump and they like that narrative. I expect the folks at the top think it's BS but if it leads their useful idiots towards remaining useful, so much the better.

Judith Lowry let go with this zinger on the purple omnivore's blog:

But, late breaking surprise, Obama is making moves in the news.
Check it out.
Fiddling with our election process through a foreign enemy power is treason, no?
Interesting days ahead.
Do I hear, “Lock him up, lock him up!” ?

It takes a special kind of gullible to take the current info to believing Trump is in cahoots with Putin.

The right wing also has their useful idiots.

The real source of fake news is the main stream press:

Just like their global warming stories they fall apart after close examination:

Story quickly falls apart after investigation finds claims to be inaccurate

"Russia's first visible action came later Thursday, when Russian authorities ordered the closure of the Anglo-American School of Moscow, a US official briefed on the matter said. The order from the Russian government closes the school, which serves children of US, British and Canadian embassy personnel, to US and foreign nationals."

It's a tragedy. Think of the children.

EPA has outlived its usefulness

EPA To Alaskans In Sub-Zero Temps: Stop Burning Wood To Keep Warm
In Alaska’s interior, where it can reach -50 degrees Fahrenheit in winter, the EPA wants people to stop burning wood. But it's just about their only feasible way to stay warm.

The only alternative for rural Alaskans is to leave home and move to the city or die. Rulemaking is easy when the EPA toadies live and work in a concrete building warmed by a magic device in the basement; it would be much harder if the EPA toadies lived in Alaska. Trump needs to return environmental management back to the States, closer to the lives of the people impacted by the rules.

Laugh of the Week:. No commentary needed.

"Salon even found an expert source (an NYU professor) who posited that “white chefs have more freedom to play with other people’s food than chefs of color do, which creates inherent inequality in the field.” To that, the author adds that English-speaking chefs also have outsized ability to read recipes and experiment, which is apparently an expression of privilege."
