California's budget rise is amazing. Now we are told we cannot have a overlay or a chip seal since the money is tight. Brown and the kids have had this amount and still squandered it all. But this is just the beginning. Here is the budget from 1990 to 2006. Look at the rise as the population has barely increased.
Year Billions
1990-91 51.4
1991-92 55.7
1992-93 57.0
1993-94 52.1
1994-95 57.5
1995-96 56.8
1996-97 61.5
1997-98 67.2
1998-99 71.9
1999-00 81.3
2000-01 99.4
2001-02 103.3
2002-03 98.9
2003-04 98.9
2004-05 105.3
2005-06 117.3
2006-07 131.4

Here is a ditty I just sent to Brian Hamilton at the Union.
"Maybe you could get the funds we passed a Initiative to ensure money for the roads. Whenever I ask they say OH, it is in this or that prohect. They are supposed to publish the income and outgo and where it goes every year at DOT. So maybe we could get the scoop so the people can see how they are spending that money. It was about 2-3 million per year. Anyway, after reading they are not paving or chip sealing for five years that simply is BS as the Measure F money was just for those things.":

My goodness. I can't believe Trump said this
“As far as hacking, I think it was Russia, but I think we also get hacked by other countries and other people,” Trump said. He also embraced the idea that Russia would want to help him.
“If Putin likes Donald Trump, I consider that an asset and not a liability,” he said."
He considers it an asset that because it was helping him it was ok for the Russians to interfere with an American election. Unbelievable but true.

Paul Emery, I watched it and Trump was great! Looks like you fake news people are taking it in the shorts.

This latest Trump hookers pissing on the bed the Obama's slept on is great! I hope it goes on and on. I love it. Shows how unhinged the libs, the lib press, and the entire Lib Establishment have become. Welcome to my parlor said the spider to the fly.
After this, will the libs have any credibility left? This is their Waterloo, not their Watergate.
Remember the "we cried wolf until a real wolf appeared" warning from Bill Mayer and others last fall? When the next wolf appears, nobody will believe them. Love it.
Interesting that nobody is talking about Obama's speech last night. Not one mention of it in this morning's press conference with Trump, not one question. Fitting end to President Obama's eight years.....President Obama, the first President to cast no shadow.
Once again, Trump sucks all the oxygen out of the room,
Meanwhile, Sessions and Rex Tillerson are smoking it as we speak. By the time the Alt-left turns around, they won't even know what hit them. Too little, too late. Killing it.
Is it just me, or has anybody else noticed a slight nuance in The Question the Alt-Media-Left is trying to explain. They are not asking how Trump could have ever beaten Clinton. Nay, they are beginning to ask how Trump could have ever beaten Obama.

PE: congrats. Yes, Trump said he thinks Russia was behind it and he thinks other counties and people were too. Now, I hope you will dig up who those other countries and people are. My gut always told me it was multiple hackers in there, but who knows. Please dig into this when you get the chance, after your victory lap of course.

“They have no idea if it's Russia or China or somebody. It could be somebody sitting in a bed some place,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News last Sunday. “I mean, they have no idea.”

President Obama Increases U.S. Regulatory State by 12% in one Month
President Barack Obama set the all-time record in November 2016 for the number of regulatory pages in the Federal Register at 81,640 pages, but in the last month he has pushed that record up by over 12 percent to 91,642 pages.
The Federal Register as the official journal of the federal government of the United States and contains government agency rules, proposed rules, and public notices.
When Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States in January 2009, the Federal Register stood at a record 79,435 pages, according to the Foundation for Economic Education. The Federal Register grew slowly to 80,250 pages over the next seven years, and then a little faster to 81,640 pages in early November 2016. Obama grew the Federal Register by less than three percent in 7.8 years, but the bureaucratic regulatory machine has gone ballistic over the last six weeks.

This is how throwing regulations into the gears of commerce is bringing our economic machine to halt. This will make the Trump challenge to jump start our economic growth far more difficult if not impossible.

Well this is pure poppycock Russ!!
I have it on good authority from the CEO of a local non-profit in your vicinity that businesses don't feel that their regulatory burden is too onerous at all! In fact from his description it seemed that many for profit business were hungering for more regulation not less!

A Recipe for Economic Growth in the New Year
Veronique de Rugy Senior Research Fellow at Mercatus Center GMU.
The next step to boost the economy is a combination of low taxes, smaller government, free trade and predictable labor laws and regulations. The more of these policies the government gets right, the more economic freedom we enjoy. As my colleague Matthew Mitchell documented, there is a solid and positive association between economic freedom and economic growth. Better yet, economic freedom also leads to a reduction in homicide rates, and it's positively related to the female empowerment index, the promotion of tolerance and so much more.
Unfortunately, the United States has lost its way. The Fraser Institute's Economic Freedom of the World index shows that between 2000 and 2016, the United States went from second in the world to 16th. As we fell in the ranking, so did economic growth. Unlike Presidents John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan — both of whom, Kudlow and Domitrovic remind us, "identified substantially cutting income tax rates and getting the dollar strong and stable as the specific policy mix that would let the private sector, which is to say the real economy, thrive" — today's Republicans and Democrats have forgotten the basics of prosperity.
There's a lot to do. Individual tax rates aren't so high as they were in the 1960s and '80s, but growth is stampeded by the hideous tax code's complexity. The corporate rate is the highest of all developed nations and must be cut to boost growth. The incredible growth of regulation and its negative effect on prosperity are well-documented and require immediate attention, as do the size and scope of government.
My emphasis added.

The real demons are the RINOs. Think it is best to forgot the slime on the Alt-left for awhile. The last time the libs tried to stand as one in opposition they brought us Air America. Public was not interested.
No, the enemy is not Putin or Obama, albeit they are dangerous psychopaths. No, the most dangerous threat to our representative Republic is the Republican Establish. They passed off the Golden Shower story to the CIA. It's the old military industrial complex IKE warned about. Best sweep out our side on the street first, or simiutanously. Drain the swamp.
Smoke em out then crush them. If we can't crush them, then expose then. They are the man behind the curtain.. Maybe the illusion is bigger than reality. Starting to think it just might be. Might be. Time will tell.
This has never been about Left vs right. It's all getting down to insider vs outsider. Time to dig in. It's about to get uglier.
Oh yeah, Trump can't sue cause he is a public figure. But Trump's lawyer Michael C can and will.

Paul, I've been an occasional Salon reader for ages but I selected Salon only because it was the most Un-GOP link in a google results return.
Paul, you're making a false claim... this wasn't a case of pushing other candidates to difficult positions... this was a case of using their lickspittles in the media to push the GOP candidate Hillary wanted to run against. That's stacking the deck and while it isn't technically against the law, it's arguably contrary to the spirit of free and OPEN elections.
I didn't say illegally rigged, I said rigged. And if it wasn't for wikileaks, we'd not know how rigged it was.
which is worse:
1) Podesta & Company rigging the primary process, Democratic and Republican;
2) Nobody in the DNC blowing the whistle on (1);
3) Unnamed hackers anonymously blowing the whistle;
4) Russian hackers possibly being among the (3)
Hmmm?
You seem focused only on 4. I'm bothered more by 1 and 2.
Now, this is for Paul... from the beginning, no one has disputed that Russians hack everything they can. We still have no real evidence they provided the damaging information to wikileaks, that they were doing so in a jihad against Hillary, nor does it really matter as everything wikileaked was apparently all true copies of what Podesta & Friends were actually doing as they frantically were pulling the levers behind the curtain.
In the good old days Boris and Natasha would never pass up a chance to insert lies sandwiched between a few truths. I have no expectation they've changed all that much.

McCain has lost what little creds he may have had. OK Paul, pick up where McCain fumbled the ball.

Thinking Russia hacked is not the same as thinking Russia did the hacking and gave wikileaks in info in a concerted attempt to denigrate Clinton while elevating Trump, Paul, and it's the latter you keep trying to establish.
I also think Russia hacked the DNC, and I think it's unthinkable that Russia didn't hack Hillary's illegal personal server, too.
The new twist is that the FNN (Fake News Network) is going to be at the back of the White House Bus beginning in a little more than a week, in a worse place than Fox News has been over the last eight years. I think John McCain's brand will also be tarnished.

Heck, he posted Jill Stein here once word for word, lol. Hamilton was the topic of that day...er...the duty to stop someone like Trump.
I don't bother wondering what Paul is up to today. No more wasting time. No more joking about the bromance. Hillary engaged in gross negligence at State and put our nation at risk. She left open doors with her non-government contacts. Then she carried that same flippant disregard of protecting and defending the United States over to her campaign. Top down. Now we all our suffer the consequences.of "the most qualified candidate to ever run for President". Posted by: Bill Tozer | 11 January 2017 at 03:58 PM
You might want to read up on "state's rights" Paul. You're all worried about dope.
Please point out where MJ is referenced in the Constitution. Yet the 2ND Amend. is "infringed" upon by the state. (Read the 2ND, and see what it says about that.) There are laws against gun registries. Now those laws get "defied".
If I defy those laws, just what do you think would happen?
DO point out where states in the U.S. can defy FED regs. they don't like. You know,, like illegal aliens?
As for your precious dope, I din't hear you making that big a bitch when "O" was busting pot shops right after getting elected when he stumped on "leaving states alone". He went after Ca. and applied the FED forfeiture laws. Even then, LIBS in the state re-elected the somebitch.

Don't say I didn't you so
When lawmakers pressed (Tillerson) him on what a stronger U.S. posture toward Russia would look like, Tillerson gave evasive answers. He wouldn’t commit to upholding sanctions against Moscow that the Obama administration has put in place or to supporting the new sanctions legislation introduced by a bipartisan group of senators on Tuesday.

What a waste of money!
In 2015, U.S. police made more than 574,000 arrests for possession of small amounts of marijuana, more arrests than they made for all violent crimes combined, according to a report from the American Civil Liberties Union and Human Rights Watch. The arrest data shows that black Americans continue to be arrested at a higher rate than their white peers, despite statistics that show they use the drug at the same rate.

Look at all the jobs illegal dope has made. Social workers, probation officers, 12 step programs, drug rehab clinics, Then the income from fines and such.
Now that dope is legal in the state, you can start on meth and crack to legalize. You got the camel's nose under the tent,, why stop now?

How many daisies are there planted vs how many folks were arrested for murders?
God knows how Paul's brain functions. If at all.
Blacks arrested at higher rates?
Even the Sacramento Snooze and Review printed a cop's viewpoint on that.
He said non-whites were far and away more stupid in committing drug crimes.
He gave the example of cruising down a major corridor at an hour when most all stores were closed. There - in plain view - in a parking lot, was a bunch of non whites shooting up in a parking lot at a store that had closed hours before. He plainly stated that white guys didn't do that. He also stated that whites tended to be far more humble and polite when pulled over, while blacks especially, mouthed off and dissed the cops far more frequently. Can't remember the name but it wasn't officer Joe White. More like Morales or Espinosa.
I just laugh when idiot non whites start telling me how it is to be pulled over for no reason.
They were never white and have clue what they are talking about.
I've been pulled over so many times it isn't funny.
I was pulled over by one of Nevada County's finest and the first thing out of his mouth was "where are you going?" At the intersection of 49 and Bloomfield. Now an Obama voter would have one answer and demeanor, but I had a white boy answer. I was polite and straight forward but firm and unwavering. Maybe Obama voters could try that.
I've had a total of one (1) speeding tickets. And one non-moving for a non-working tail light. I was guilty and fessed up.
I have a good friend who was driving down hwy one and was, yes, speeding. He saw the CHP going the other way, do a 180 and go after him. As soon as the lights came on, he pulled over and got off and held out his license and reg. The black officer grabbed him and smashed his face onto the patrol car hood. Bloody nose and all, he was thrown into the back of the car and charged with speed far in excess of what he was doing. Where was the NAACP for that?
Please spare me that blacks have a harder time. They bring it on them selves. Ask any black cop.
This isn't 1963. I lived through Sheriff John Misterly and his reign of terror in Sac County in the late 60's. He was an asshole. We were squarely in his cross hairs and knew it. And we adjusted our attitudes and our behavior.
This was the guy that claimed on the news that Sac County was being invaded by the 'hippies'.
I imagined a convoy of VW vans swarming across the Yolo causeway full of long-haired freaks intent on reeking havoc in our poor back-water podunk.
He was the man and he was a stupid moron. So we dealt with it. We smoked all the weed we wanted and made sure we stayed below the radar.
Not hard to to, but there were some casualties.
You want to poke your finger in the establishment's eye?
Good luck, but don't come to me crying that the establishment won.
Folks in jail for pot are just unlucky (there's no govt cure for that) or just stupid beyond belief. There is a cure for that, but Paul doesn't want to hear about it.
Meanwhile our govt debt just went up the equivalent of a weeks pay for the proles, but Paul has no clue.
I tend to be worried about things I have little or no control over.
Paul tends to worry about the fact that being stupid hurts.
Try not to be stupid and it tends to go away.

Don, did you see this angle from this morning's boring press conference?
Since I don't have TV, I missed the fist pump.

Paul at 6:00 - "Nope, States rights on this one."
Just that one, Paul? It's either states' rights or it's not.
If it's dope, it's states' rights - if not - it's not.
right, Paul?
You are either a Libertarian or not.
you don't get to pick and choose.
Principles are a bitch, Paul. You have to put a stick in the ground and defend it.
Or just dance around like you do and go with - whatever.
I had a dog with firmer principles than you.

I am a Green Libertarian Scott. I've already explained that to you.

No you've stated it but your "explanation" hasn't materialized yet. "You don't crap where you eat!" is insufficient as a defensible political philosophy.

Tillerson could not say that Putin was a war criminal despite being presented these facts by Sen Rubio

Paul. Where is all the money going to come from for Ka. to sue the FEDS? The state even predicts it's going to lose. "If anything, we will just drag it out to stall it"
I guess it's the "state's right" to piss away tax dollars. And how is the state going to afford to launch and operate a satellite just to "keep and eye" on AGW? Some subsidies just might have to go.
Posted by: Walt | 11 January 2017 at 08:23 PM
PaulE 740pm - In my mind if T Rex allowed himself to be goaded into calling the head of state a war criminal after which he had to negotiate with that state, then he would not be a fit SecState for us. Take a moment to think about it.
Posted by: George Rebane | 11 January 2017 at 08:38 PM
"I am a Green Libertarian Scott. I've already explained that to you."
Yes, Paul, you have.
I want what I want.
A true Libertarian has certain firm principles.
We are a republic, not a democracy.
If you do not agree, you have that right, but you do not have the right to declare yourself to be any sort of a Libertarian if you do not.
A Libertarian declares that all adults will comport themselves to have total control over all of their own affairs and those with whom they enter into to free contracts with.
Agreed, Paul?
Yes, I didn't think so.
A 'green libertarian'. Sort of like a bullshitter, in fact.
You can have liberty until Paul says you can't. Because you are not 'green'. Whatever the H that is.
Paul will decide in his own good time.

Clapper? Is not he the hotshot who testified to the Congressional Committee that the NSA was not collecting information on ordinary US citizens in 2013? Hmmm. Snowden blew that story all to pieces. Liar, liar, pants on fire. Oh yeah, is he not the guy who said Grass Valley's own native son Ambassador Stevens and three other Ametican's death was caused by some internet video no one ever saw on a September 11th anniversary?
Liar liar, pants of fire.

The global warming 'experts' just figured out that a swamp in the congo has the equivalent of 20 years of US emissions locked in its peat. The gods of global warming models didn't have that naturally occurring factor in their oh so perfect tailored 'models'. Cow farts and peat bogs, volcanos and solar activity seem to have trumped the vain mortals 'models'. What about whale burps? ;-)

By the way, it's "secede," not "succeed," and it's "Hetch, Hetchy," not "Hatch, Hatchey." Can't any of the regular contributors to this blog spell?

HAY!! Boardman survived the storm. Nice to see ya' out from under your rock.
Before you go chastising, better take a look at Paul's penmanship from last night.
NOT pretty.. Not pretty at all.
Old news Boardman, a dime was dropped on that weeks ago here. If Russia likes it, that might give one pause to think about that. Only the butt-hurt LIBS like the plan.

More lies from Trump. He has no ethical standards in his judgements about people. If you talk agaisn't him you're a dog. Find character traits for our now President.
"What a difference a Golden Globes appearance makes. President-elect Donald Trump lashed Meryl Streep as “over-rated” after she sharply criticized his “bullying” as she accepted an award Sunday. But as recently as 2015 he named her as one of his favorite actresses.
Asked in a Hollywood Reporter interview in August 2015 if there were any actresses he “loved,” Trump named Julia Roberts and Streep. “Meryl Streep is excellent; she’s a fine person, too,” Trump said."
