Treason - you guys paying attention? Nope!

Resignation coming, arrests. Yeah noted democrat bundler Tony Podesta resigned and dissolved his business.

You own it. Don't know how you come to this conclusion.

Good times. Well I should say so!

Gregory

arrests for financial crimes comitted before being hired by Trump for the campaign, and for bullshitting the FBI by a campaign advisor (a volunteer who attended one meeting?).

Yeah, I'll bet Trump is shaking in his boots.

Yup,, it was a moldy "ham sandwich" that got indicted.
So get all the cheering out now while you still can, before
it goes sour.

The Chinese security services just arrested a hit team dispatched by fat kim to kill his nephew who is living in china. Are the Chinese going to execute the plan they had in motion when fat kim took out his brother with binary nerve gas? Slotting in a member of the family dynasty with Chinese backing could bring about a satisfactory solution on the Korean peninsula. ;-)

Walt

Hay Paul.. We know how passionate you are about gun laws.
Well,,, your pal Moonbat just signed another thug protection bill.

it's likely the next round of indictments will include a Trumplet. This is really getting to be fun

Gosh - I thought Mueller was investigating Trump's alleged collusion with Putin. Looks like he has nothing. Since everyone thinks Bill Clinton is so wonderful, all that Trump has to do is follow Clinton's lead. If Manafort is actually convicted, he can just hand Trump a wad of money and Trump will pardon him. Worked well for Clinton and Marc Rich, why not Trump and Manafort?
And that's the end of it.
Well - We would still need to see what Manafort's wife looks like. Marc Rich's wife - Denise 'Hooters' Rich was said to have 'personally' intervened on her husbands behalf.
I just love how the left completely ignores the elephant and strains at the gnat.
And Hillary had the State Dept email server in her own house because?

Russ

Hey Eric and Paul

Andrew Mccarthy: The Manafort Indictment: Not Much There, and a Boon for Trump.

The Paul Manafort indictment is much ado about nothing . . . except as a vehicle to squeeze Manafort, which is special counsel Robert Mueller’s objective — as we have been arguing for three months (see here, here, and here). Do not be fooled by the “Conspiracy against the United States” heading on Count One (page 23 of the indictment). This case has nothing to do with what Democrats and the media call “the attack on our democracy” (i.e., the Kremlin’s meddling in the 2016 election, supposedly in “collusion” with the Trump campaign). Essentially, Manafort and his associate, Richard W. Gates, are charged with (a) conspiring to conceal from the U.S. government about $75 million they made as unregistered foreign agents for Ukraine, years before the 2016 election (mainly, from 2006 through 2014), and (b) a money-laundering conspiracy. . . .

The so-called conspiracy against the United States mainly involves Manafort’s and Gates’s alleged failure to file Treasury Department forms required by the Bank Secrecy Act. Specifically, Americans who hold a stake in foreign bank accounts must file what’s known as an “FBAR” (foreign bank account report) in any year in which, at any point, the balance in the account exceeds $10,000. Federal law also requires disclosure of foreign accounts on annual income-tax returns. Manafort and Gates are said to have controlled foreign accounts through which their Ukrainian political-consulting income sluiced, and to have failed to file accurate FBARs and tax returns. In addition, they allegedly failed to register as foreign agents from 2008 through 2014 and made false statements when they belatedly registered.

In the money-laundering conspiracy, they are alleged to have moved money in and out of the United States with the intent to promote “specified unlawful activity.” That activity is said to have been their acting as unregistered foreign agents.

On first glance, Mueller’s case, at least in part, seems shaky and overcharged.

McCarthy’s conclusion: “From President Trump’s perspective, the indictment is a boon from which he can claim that the special counsel has no actionable collusion case. It appears to reaffirm former FBI director James Comey’s multiple assurances that Trump is not a suspect. And, to the extent it looks like an attempt to play prosecutorial hardball with Manafort, the president can continue to portray himself as the victim of a witch hunt.”

Manifort cannot leave his house. I was trying to be poetic. Sorry you couldn't get it.

"Paul Manafort and Rick Gates were both ordered to home confinement Monday and ordered to surrender their passports after pleading not guilty to charges stemming from Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.
Judge Deborah Robinson agreed to Justice Department requests to set bond at $10 million for Manafort and $5 million for Gates. They did not have to put collateral behind that amount, and will not have to pay it unless they violate the court's directions."

What happened to the big collusion charge with Trump?
This comment is so last week - "Monday we'll find out who the winners are a government paid hotel with room service."
Another loser line from Paul Emery - being wrong for years doesn't put a crimp in his style.
Also Paul - if you had actually read Russ's post, you'll notice that the opinion was that of Andrew McCarthy.
There are many other articles out there about the Manafort case. You might want to read some of them.

Paul Emery

Scott
According to prosecution documents Manafort coordinated shopping sprees, in two different states, totaling $1.3 million. At a men's clothing store in New York, Manafort's accounts wired more than $800,000 between 2008 and 2014. Another $520,000 was wired to a clothing store in Beverly Hills, California, the indictment says.

These were all paid for by wire transfers from Cyprus and the Grenadines. Classic money laundering. These details are in the indictments.

Don Bessee

NBC is reporting that company 'B' in the Manafort indictments is the Podesta Group. No wonder he resigned and they are renaming the company. It just shows that the Podestas are better than Weinstien at clean ups. The 0 crew are all now suffering from their hubris of believing there was no way they were going to loose the election so no one would ever see the files or wiretaps. ;-)

The Trump submissives soaking this blog are still not paying attention. The gig is up for conservatives - you are whistling past the graveyard. It's your choice to be last to know but I'll let you in on some of what will transpire.

They've got the goods on at least the following individuals: Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, George Papadopolous, Jared Kushner, Michael Cohen, Carter Page, Don Trump Jr., Michael Flynn, Flynn Jr, Felix Sater, Michael Pence, Wilber Ross, Corey Lewandowski, Jeff Sessions, Roger Stone, Sean Spicer, Rince Preibus, Brad Parscale, Kellyanne Conway, Jason Chavetz, Ivanka Trump, Devin Nunes and Donald Trump.

Some will be nailed on financial fraud and money laundering crimes, some on collusion with a foreign enemy to subvert our democratic governance, some on obstruction of justice, some, like Trump himself, on all the crimes. The entire Trump Administration will be arrested or will be flipped. A number have already flipped. Manafort's phone has been monitored for years, Trump has been working with Russian criminals for a decade or more (how do you think he got out of his bankruptcies as a financial pariah?) , the Steele Dossier is a guide (of which, the majority of revelations have since been independently corroborated, none yet disproven) and is not needed as proof.

The conservative media and most of their politicians can not be trusted. They have practiced years and years and years of bad faith. Fox News, Sean Hannity and Wingnut Welfare recipients like A. McCarthy are misdirecting, dissembling, deceiving and lying. They're encouraged to do it, get paid to do it, and are good at it, like George Rebane here (who does it for free - I think). It works on those who are easily swayed by what they want to hear. Hillary is guilty of none of the nonsense being hyper-bleated by the desperate wingers. It's just words, nothing else. We were attacked by our enemy and the conservatives watched and helped. They will be punished and must be.

It was all so obvious that Trump represented the worst of humanity, and now it will be proven for the slow students among us. But it's not too late to start educating yourselves. Step one, never again watch Fox News, Brietbart, Drudge, Alex Jones or their ilk, it is rotting your brain. Start paying attention to news that stands the test of time. Right wing news hardly ever does (it's "all a hoax" they bellowed until they couldn't). Conservative bad faith has polluted the great legacy of America but we will recover. Today was just the opening act of an unprecedented evisceration of a criminal enterprise the likes of which America has never seen. The magnitude of the crimes and the patriotic takedown of the criminals will be breathtaking - buckle up. The Founding Father will again be proud as increasingly scarce but honorable Republicans like Mueller and Comey (as a witness) serve overdue justice.

Watching ex-President Trump shuffle about the prison exercise yard is going to be sweet, talk to you then.

'''WASHINGTON — A professor with close ties to the Russian government told an adviser to Donald J. Trump’s presidential campaign in April 2016 that Moscow had “dirt” on Hillary Clinton in the form of “thousands of emails,” according to court documents unsealed Monday.

The adviser, George Papadopoulos, has pleaded guilty to lying to the F.B.I. about that conversation. The plea represents the most explicit evidence connecting the Trump campaign to the Russian government’s meddling in last year’s election.

EricA 1115pm - I repeat my 203pm. Your commentary contains ample amounts of progressive passion, but not one whit of evidence to bring any of it to bear on Trump's having won the election through 'collusion with Russia'. Mueller's casting a wide net in the swamp of Washington is bound to come up with a lot of dirt on all kinds of people. But in these discussions predicting that is a sophomoric grab for low hanging fruit. We await substance.

I was looking for the justification within the Emolument Clause for the lawsuits the liberals are filing against Trump. Seems to me if he gets room rent in a hotel he owns that is not covered in the Clause. If the money is not from a king, prince or foreign government seems he is off the hook.

“No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office or title of any kind whatever, from any king, prince or foreign state.”

This was beaten to death last night by the detractors.

Paul Emery

Well Gregory you certainly have shown a profound indifference to the Russian interference in our elections. You still don't believe Russia didn't interfere do you?

Gregory

Golly, Paul, yes, we have James Clapper on the record that the Russians did interfere (or was it "meddled"?) in our election, though the only concrete examples we have are $100k in adverts on Facebook (some ran after the election) and now we know the Clintons (both) got roughly a thousand times as much. We also know Clapper earlier perjured himself testifying under oath to Congress so it's unclear whether he should be believed.

https://www.salon.com/2013/06/12/how_james_clapper_will_get_away_with_perjury/

Do you believe anything James Clapper says, Paul? If so, why, unless it's an answer you are so painfully desperate to believe?

Paul Emery

Boy you had to dig in the archives for that one Gregory. The link you provided was 2013. What was the final resolution of that question? Glad you agree that the Russians meddled.

Account Deleted

from Paul - "You still don't believe Russia didn't interfere do you?"
Well, it must have happened while Obama was pres, so we're never going to get the truth from his admin. Remember that Obama claimed he knew about it all along and took care of it.
The big question is: Did Russian 'interference' alter the outcome of the election?
Who changed their vote because of what some Russian did?
The answer is no to both questions, so why should we be bothered by whatever the Russians did?
We should always be guarding against cyber attacks no matter what the source. If it continues and the govt proves unable to counter the menace then yes, I'll be concerned. Very concerned.
The left is unable to understand that this whole scenario of 'Russian interference' some how affecting our election was a con cooked up by the Dems after they had their feet knocked out from under them on election night.
Mueller, the FBI and anyone else who has investigated this nonsense has found no evidence of the alleged collusion by Trump with Russians to alter the election.

Todd Juvinall

If the Rooskies meddled it was in favor of Hillary and Podesta.

Gregory

Paul, you dodged the question:
"Do you believe anything James Clapper says, Paul? If so, why, unless it's an answer you are so painfully desperate to believe?"

Macedonian teenagers living at home also meddled. So did the Chicoms and NorKs. Probably also Prince Albert of Monaco.

We've also meddled in elections in Russia and Ukraine. Just about everywhere else, too.

Paul Emery

Gregory

Do you agree with this finding by Trumps Homeland Security ?

The Department of Homeland Security contacted election officials in 21 states Friday to notify them that they had been targeted by Russian government hackers during the 2016 election campaign.

Three months ago, DHS officials said that people connected to the Russian government tried to hack voter registration files or public election sites in 21 states, but Friday was the first time that government officials contacted individual state election officials to let them know their systems had been targeted.

Rather than obsess over Clapper lying in 2013, and all the other facts that the left would prefer to ignore, lets just cut to the chase and serve up a heaping helping of Punchy Political Porn as authored by someone who should clearly know better!

And it has some Democratic die-hards dreaming again.

Harvard University professor Lawrence Lessig offered a Clinton path to the presidency on Medium, putting forward a series of "if/then" scenarios that lead to House Speaker Paul Ryan handing the White House keys to Clinton.

Related: Hillary Clinton losing to Trump was like Jesus's crucifixion

Here's how constitutional law expert Lessig lays it out:

If number 1: If Trump is definitively found to have colluded directly with Russia, he would be forced to resign or be impeached.

If number 2: If Trump is removed, Vice President Mike Pence would become president.

If number 3: If Pence becomes president, he should resign too, given that he benefited from the same help from Mother Russia.

If number 4: If Pence resigns before appointing a vice president, Ryan would become president.

If number 5: If Ryan becomes president, he should do the right thing and choose Clinton for vice president. Then he should resign.

That's just sad!

No wonder Newsweek is on its deathbed!

refer to 2:49 You accepted Trumps statement that he actually won the popular vote because of massive (over 3 million) fraudulent votes.

Robert Cross

Is it criminal conspiracy, collusion, attempting to defraud the government or what?.... When a tiny Montana company that just happens to be based in Ryan Zinke's home town gets a $300 million NO AUDIT contract to rebuild the power grid in Puerto Rico.... considering that the largest contract Whitefish has ever completed was $1.3 million? Naw, Trump and crew aren't grifters. They are as honest as the day is long....at the North Pole on the Winter Solstice.

Paul Emery

BAd news for the Republicans PPP Polls give the Republican led Congress only a 9% approval rate. Unbelievably bad. Show Dems up by 10 in Congressional polls for next election. 49% favor impeachment of Trump
Historically accurate poll

Now Todd.....KeachKeach is right I shouldn't have assumed that the incident in NY was gun related until I knew for sure!

It would have been much more reasonable to assume that the murders committed today were just part of the filming of a campaign ad by the democrats for Ralph Northam!

Robert Cross

someone has to keep you honest fishy! The water in the pan has got to be getting warmer or will the frogs (fish) never see it coming until the pot boils?

Paul, ignoring your question is not the same as "accepting Trump's statement" he won the popular vote... were fraudulent votes not counted.

At the time, I said popular vote didn't count. I recall you thought it should. It doesn't; if it did, there would be fighting for every vote even in California. I also think many more illegal aliens vote than you want to believe. Probably not enough to make up for the lopsided vote in California (sorry, Donald) but there are accounts of jury duty summonses indicating large numbers of illegals are probably registered to vote.

The po' ol' fakenewsman needs someone to explain that congress is elected by district, not nationally. Brain freeze fakenewsman? ;-)

Welcome November.p! Halloween was great last night. My costume went over well. A hit, if I may say so myself. Went as a crazy cowboy with lips a’blazing. Got my inspiration from a pic I saw on FB.

Don

sorry you didn't understand what a generic Congressional vote polls mean.

Todd Juvinall

Generic poll on Congress is meaningless but the libs now love t. Each Con District is in play. There is no overarching issue affecting all of them.

Gregory

Paul, it is you who misunderstands the generic Congressional vote polls meaning, which is very little.

The incumbent advantage is key and people will vote for their candidate in their district. The "generic" poll is what people think about the congresscritters elected by all the miscreants in other districts.

"On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."

"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."

"I did," said Ford. "It is."

"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"

"It honestly doesn't occur to them," said Ford. "They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates to the government they want."

"You mean they actually vote for the lizards?"

"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."

"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"

"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard," said Ford, "the wrong lizard might get in."

Paul Emery

Gregory it means what is says. In that particular poll 10% more of the people polled have a preference for Democratic Congressional representation. Can we agree on that and move on?

Todd Juvinall

Oh Paul Emery, you and your situational facts.

Paul Emery

GCan we agree on my 12:18 Gregory?
