…and the intrepid "newsman" has evidence that Moore had sex with a 14 year old?
Posted by: fish | 13 November 2017 at 10:48 AM
Not the point Paul Emery. You libs always cover for your pals.
Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 13 November 2017 at 10:59 AM
Paul, do you think Studds deserved censure, or more, for having sex with a 17 year old male congressional page? Should he have been thrown out of the Congress?
The thing with the 14 year old does not include intercourse, Paul. If you believe the woman, there wasn't even actual contact with her fun parts or with his.
I'm unsure just what Alabama law was violated at the time. In nearby Louisiana a few years earlier, Jerry Lee Lewis' box office receipts dropped to your levels after he married his 13 year old first cousin though it's unclear if it was her age or the first cousin thing that was the biggest problem for his fans.

No proof on Moore and he is up 10 points in Alabama.

"First, all power generation, whether renewable or conventional, has to pay for interconnection, and the costs of interconnection of both are roughy equal, thus the cost for all power sources is leveld out of the curve"
-Frisch
No Steve, to connect a large scale but intermittent power source to the grid, you must also connect a ready to go in a fraction of a second conventionally fueled plant. That is running at the standby rate, burning fuel more or less continually. That is not "leveld [sic] out of the curve".
I get it, though. Your blindness is willful.

ToddJ@11am,,,this is called proof,,,
"It was common knowledge that Roy dated high school girls, everyone we knew thought it was weird," former deputy district attorney Teresa Jones told CNN in comments aired Saturday. "We wondered why someone his age would hang out at high school football games and the mall ... but you really wouldn't say anything to someone like that."

fish 1158am - unfortunately Mr fish, we are both wrong for consigning Clue's 1156am to gossip. In the new liberal justice system such gossip easily stands in for evidence, and serves well to indict and convict. One thing is for sure. The statute of limitations ran out a LONG time ago.
It's time we re-visit Bubba Clinton. He really needs to be jailed right next to Menendez. They both took flights on pediflight 1 not long ago. Forget that news?

Another one
Another woman has come forward to say that Alabama Republican Roy Moore sexually abused her when she was a teen and he was more than a decade older.
Beverly Young Nelson, who is represented by attorney Gloria Allred, told her story at a New York press conference on Monday.
Nelson, who met Moore through her job as a waitress, recalled an incident in which Moore offered to give her a ride home one night in 1977. Instead of taking her home, she said, he drove around the restaurant and assaulted her.
“I thought that he was going to rape me,” Nelson said.
After a struggle, Nelson said, Moore let her go with a threat.
“He looked at me, and he told me, ‘You’re just a child.’ And he said, ‘I am the district attorney of Etowah County, and if you tell anyone about this, no one will ever believe you,’” she added.

http://dailycaller.com/2017/11/13/a-plan-to-replace-californias-last-nuclear-plant-with-green-energy-may-backfire/
“There is no reason to approve a $1.3 billion rate increase for a proposal that will most likely either fail to achieve its goal or will achieve a goal not worth reaching,” Allen wrote in his decision issued in early November.
So much for "paying us to use power".
Replacing Diablo Canyon wasn’t supposed to be cheap either. Replacing the nuclear plant with solar energy, for example, could cost $15 billion based on current prices, according to Bloomberg Intelligence.
So count on it costing double.

Walt, you are so right about that woman hiring Allred. She brings the issue into clarity. The left will bring forth as many women liars as it takes to destroy Moore. Waiting 40 years to "come forward" is a joke. If you can wait 40 years, you can just take it to your grave as far as I'm concerned.

As far as voting? I have a longtime friend from Alabama who attended the livhoen Saturday in A Birmingham suburb. He says it is a swamp attempt to take out Moore and the people of the state will not and do not believe it.

That is juat patently false...the interconnection report is merely a report. There is no requirement to install back up power for each an every renewable source....and frankly the whole leveling issue is diminishng as more renewables come on line in more variety.

This has turned into a gusher
"In a report by The New Yorker, multiple locals claimed they remember Moore being banned from The Gadsen Mall when he was the assistant district attorney to Etowah County “because he repeatedly badgered teen-age girls.” Two of the women who accused Moore of dating them when they were teens and he in his 30’s said they met him at that mall.
The claims come from a variety of sources — “five members of the local legal community, two cops who worked in the town, several people who hung out at the mall in the early eighties, and a number of former mall employees” — and many said they’d heard “rumors” about why he wasn’t welcome at the mall. A number spoke on the condition of anonymity, though a few went on record.
Greg Legat, a former employee at the mall, recalled an interaction with J.D. Thomas, a Gadsen police officer and security guard who told him to keep an eye out for Moore, who was already banned by the time Legat began working at the mall in 1981. He said he believes Moore was banned from the mall around 1979.
“‘If you see Roy, let me know. He’s banned from the mall.’” Legat told The New Yorker of his exchange with the security guard. “’If you see Moore here, tell me. I’ll take care of him.'” Legat also said his supervisor at the mall told him to watch out for Moore........"

Re: The Mean Green Munching Machine.
Wind and solar is just a simple matter of storage, eh? Great. You just turned a two car garage into a one car garage. Got any other grand ideas?
1) The whole problem of solar as it stands currently is it just too damn bulky. Racks of batteries in the garage like it Is some backup to keep Comcast up or the ICU going at the hospital when the power goes out for too long? Yep, it’s all too bulky right now. Panels need to be lighter, at least 40-60% smaller and twice the efficiently for starters, batteries thin as a pizza stacked comfortly in the laundry closet like Secretary of State Clinnton’s private server, and....as an option, through some curves on the solar panel design. Yeah, there goes the extra room in the garage. Call in “storage”, I call it those big heavy VCR’s when the first came out or those old bulky heavy microwave nukers that had more chrome on them than an old Hudson. Tell me when I can open my eyes and you’can yell “Surprise!”

Ever complete a sentence without major errors of substance, spelling or grammar, Steve?
I know engineers in the business. Do tell about interconnection report you bought and all the power you've pimped. Was that for PV at your home?
I'd be overjoyed if the true levelized costs were as you claim. They aren't, and the grid does require fossil fuels to spin turbines that aren't generating much but can't be turned off lest a major PV plant has a dip because of an errant cloud, or the wind stopped blowing.
Your renewable hysteria requires being CO2 phobic. Reductions at all costs. Deal with the problems after the fact. But CO2 isn't dirty and it isn't driving the climate.

Yeah, Greg I am on a multitude of devices, and although spelling is importnat to me, I post withut spell checking, so occasionally I make mistakes.
A more important question is how is it possible that someone who claims to have such strong scientific background is so completely devoid of critical thinking skills?
I have never stated that there would be NO role for fossil fuels, perhaps the best role is as back-up for peaking to reach minimum baseload power needs in the near future until storage comes on line, marrying the economic and environmental benefit of renewables with the barest need for carbon based fuels. I also never said that some fossil fueld turbines would be required to spin, the reality is that it will require a lot less, and thus less emissions. That point is indicitive of how you make your case--you create a false statement or position for your opponent then knock it down--no critical thinking skills reuired at all, merely a juvenile high school debating trick
You may quibble over the definition of a subsidy and split hairs, but the facts are that policy driving renewables coupled with priming the pump with funding for innovation, has driven the price of renewables down to below the cost of fossil fuels. That is good for consumers and good for the environment. It makes communities more resilient in the face of extreme weather events, and reduces the risk of interruption by distributing generation across a borader set of assets.
You may also discount expereince, but I talk with people in the investor owned and publically owned utility industry almost every day. I track CEC and CPUC reports and research. I work with renewable power suppliers on siting and locating renewable assets in the Sierra. I track regulatory policy and its implementation. I have a staff of 22 people fully half of whom are engeged in work around climate adaptation and mitigation and energy policy. I have much more expereince here than you do. I have never seen you at a single hearing, conference, release of a study, or engaged in any conversation whatsoever on policy at the local or state level. In short my experience trumps your ego.
While you guys are contemplating your shriveling navels California is likey to be hitting a 50% renewable level by 2020. We are already at 29% and it is likely that with projects under construction now we will hit 50% by 2020, 10 years earlier than scheduled.

The amazing thing to me is that you, claiming to be science based, are so caught up in fighting your war on AGW proponents, that you would embrace a technology and power generation source that is clearly so damaging to the environment and out of scale to the small damage some renewables do, that it is literally killing people.
You are the classic exmpale of the subject of the famous climate change cartoon that asks the question, "What if we create a better world and it's all a big hoax..."
In my book you are a nasty, self important, but fundamentally ignorant ideologue who may be well educated but is a complete imbicile in practice. If you went back to your alma mater and made your case the way you make it here all of your science based mentors would shake their heads in shame.

Yes, indeed Gregory Goodnight, you are a cartoon....

Steve Frisch, you really are a demented person.

How many of you agree with Roy Moore when he said that Muslims shouldn't be allowed to serve in Congress?

Oh Bobby…..Roy Moore is so yesterday!

None of us BobieC at 857. You?

Frisch 737
Oh, my. (read it in a George Takei basso profundo, while you still can... et tu, George?)
Checking Frisch's company website, there are 19 not 22 besides him listed as staffers (http://sierrabusiness.org/who-we-are/people/staff, if you have 22 staffers working for you three are missing) and his VP of Climate and Energy has a BA in English Lit from (wait for it) Frisch's alma mater, 'Frisco State. And his entire staff is white enough to pass at a Richard Spencer rally.
The facts are that "renewables" haven't been driven down in price below that of conventional generation, or the rocket scientists in Sacramento wouldn't be yelling and swinging a big stick to force the conversions in California. What has been driving down the price is the willingness of the Chinese people to sacrifice their air, water and death rates for workers in order to make money for them. This will not continue ad infinitum, nor will their desire to keep lending the formerly Great State of California more and more money to paper over our profligate spending, but that's for another time.
Not a 'toon, Stevie. A heretic in your world and your name calling is best remembered with that in mind.

NO,Todd, I don't agree with Roy Moore's statement that Muslims shouldn't serve in Congress, but I do think that Republicans should be barred from serving for the good of the 99.9% of Americans who aren't multi-millionaires or billionaires.

"That point is indicitive [sic] of how you make your case--you create a false statement or position for your opponent then knock it down--no critical thinking skills reuired at all, merely a juvenile high school debating trick"
-Frisch
And the obvious point I didn't make before hitting Post was that virtually your entire piece was in fact a Straw Man argument where you were doing just what you accused me of in that sentence.

So your racism is envy based. You liberals are such phony-baloneys. I suggest you go check the incomes of the Senators and Congresspeople and GASP! You will find your ilk/libs/dems, are richer. So try harder your racist pig.

Todd writes
"
"Steve Frisch, you really are a demented person."
No Todd you are demented because you support child molester Roy Moore.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 14 November 2017 at 10:59 AM
No Paul Emery I am all about "innocent until proven guilty". You are a fascist.
Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 14 November 2017 at 11:04 AM
Todd
Does that apply to Hillary Clinton as well?
Posted by: Paul Emery | 14 November 2017 at 11:06 AM
Paul. The same analogy can be said about you. Your support of "dope for all" will make it easier for children to get their hands on dope. All those dope growers with children around while they grow drugs.
And NO PROOF Moore molested anyone. Nothing more than you probably did with hippie chicks.
Posted by: Walt | 14 November 2017 at 11:10 AM
You apparently don't believe in it? Jeeze you really are a fascist Paul Emery. Who would have thought a short pony tailed counter-culture type guy would be one. Sad.

LIBS are such pervs.
https://www.thewrap.com/nbc-senior-vice-president-dismissed-inappropriate-conduct-one-woman/
The " he touched me" accusation cuts both political ways.
But where will LIBS get donor money from? All the big donors are paying big money to lawyers to keep their collective peckers out of the wringer.
The DNC has no money, Hillary took it all.

Todd.."racist pig". Is that all you have? In case your 4th grade intellect doesn't serve you well, racism usually refers to ethnicity not political affiliation. I just love fishing. Just throw a little chum out there and BAMB, the fish just jump right out of the water to get some. However there is a problem with catch and release.. one just keeps snaring the same dumb trout.
Posted by: Robert Cross | 14 November 2017 at 11:35 AM
Todd, in case you didn't understand my previous post here is a clarification you might understand..."sticks and stones... etc. etc."
Posted by: Robert Cross | 14 November 2017 at 11:38 AM
Walt
Please document my support for "dope for all" . Were the quotes directly attributed to me? If not me who do you attribute them to. It it's not me document time and date and show me the precise example. That is not something I believe in. Marijuana is very harmful to children.

So Todd is NOW firmly on the record as supporting Roy Moore for Senate. Thanks for clarifying that.

Paul Emery you are unhinged. Are you off your meds? My goodness, if you were coherent you would not be writing the trash here that you do. Tou support conviction before the trial and that makes you a fascist. You cannot make this stuff up. Thanks for showing the readers what a total goofball you are.

Regarding international norms of behavior: the French are considering setting a new age of sexual consent. Their number... thirteen years old.
Apparently their current standard is one of coercion or no coercion and were shocked when they were unable to get a conviction of a man who diddled an 11 year old because the jury didn't find that standard was met.
