CIVIL RIGHTS UPDATE: National Concealed Reciprocity Passes House Judiciary, Is Expected To Receive A Floor Vote By The End Of The Year. “The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 was introduced by Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) on January 3, 2017. It changes federal law that so concealed carry permits are treated like driver’s licenses, making a permit from one state valid in the other 49. This would fix the complicated and often confusing patchwork of concealed carry laws currently in effect throughout the country.”

‘Tis the season.
The libs have really lost it now. They are going ape snot over Melania’s Christmas decor in the White House, comparing it to the disturbing film “The Shining.” That’s ok, but they have become so unhinged they plumb forgot to rant and rave like the insufferable madmen they are about her shoes. Not a word of disgust or aghast about the First Lady’s shoes. Yo Libbies, what about her shoes! Man, they are really slipping lately.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is the gift that keeps on giving. Merry Christmas from the White House, from my Trump family to yours.

I could share countless similar links about the evil white man that have popped up recently. More stories about who the real evil culprits are. They are drawing the bead on the palefaces’ foreheads.
Is it just me, or does this hate Y-T rhetoric ring vaguely familiar. It’s exactly what the real Nazis were saying to justify blaming and fingering the European Jews. Dirty Jews. The problem in need of a final solution. It’s the exact same rhetoric Hilter used in the 30’s against the Jews and now the new Nazis are saying about the white men of America. Boy, we need the rule of law now more than ever.

I guess I hurt Paul's feelings. I wasn't going to put another quarter is his wayback machine, for another round of fractured fairy tails. As I see it his chest thumping about legalized weed, and how all the small growers were going to get rich.... Legally.
Well, that's not what the wind is blowing in. It's pretty clear that the "big bucks" are going to be making the big bucks.
Dope sales was to come out of the shadows. According to the local fish wrap (sorry pal),,there isn't going to be any. Save for MMJ,, and The Union even paved the way to the Dr.'s door to get a "recommendation".And the price even! Right back into the shadows where sales was to start with.

More gun control nonsense - "In Las Vegas, gunman Stephen Paddock shot and killed 58 people in October using a bump stock that converted his semi-automatic rifle to an automatic one."
Well - no, it didn't but what do facts mean to lefties?
Let's get right down to what is at stake here: "Assault weapons, which have resulted in the slaughter of hundreds of people in recent months, are not protected by the Second Amendment."
http://www.newsweek.com/supreme-court-upholds-assault-weapon-gun-ban-723464?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=yahoo_news&utm_campaign=rss-related&utm_content=/rss/yahoous/news
And what is an 'assault weapon'? Seems to be whatever the left desires it to be.
These are the same folks that claim that no one wants to take anyone's guns.
If we are to follow that sort of logic, then we should ban anything that slaughters 'hundreds' of humans.
Oh - I know, logic is just another weapon of 'whiteness' that oppresses women and our community of those of color.

Hoover Institute: Scientifically Illiterate America
https://www.hoover.org/research/scientifically-illiterate-america
[...]
A 2001 study sponsored by the U.S. National Science Foundation found that only about half of all people surveyed understood that the earth circles the sun once a year, while only 45 percent could give an “acceptable definition” of DNA and only 22 percent understood what a molecule was. More recent research by Jon Miller, Professor of Integrative Studies at Michigan State University, found that 70 percent of Americans cannot understand the science section of the New York Times.
Such widespread illiteracy has an impact on policy. In his 2005 book The March of Unreason, British polymath Dick Taverne warned, “in the practice of medicine, popular approaches to farming and food, policies to reduce hunger and disease, and many other practical issues, there is an undercurrent of irrationality that threatens science-dependent progress, and even the civilized basis of our democracy.” We see evidence of such irrationality in significant opposition to important products and technologies such as vaccines, nuclear power, and genetic engineering—and in the embrace of herbal dietary supplements and organic foods.
At least a modicum of scientific literacy is important for citizens. As the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry’s primer observed: “It is imperative that policy-makers, the media, and the general public are able to distinguish the facts from mere interpretations of a biased constituency. Decision-makers and those who inform them must be able to judge the quality of the science and reasoning that supports a position and must know whether a set of scientific findings is really meaningful to a decision.”
However, even when the science is sound and the data are “meaningful,” politicians and government officials commonly ignore them, often in the cause of bureaucratic empire-building, advancing some ideological goal, or capitulating to activists. When I was an official at the Food and Drug Administration, I once heard a Clinton administration undersecretary of agriculture, who previously had headed an anti-technology advocacy group, deconstruct science: “You can have ‘your’ science or ‘my’ science or ‘somebody else’s’ science. By nature, there is going to be a difference.” Translation: “I don’t care about data or the consensus in the scientific community. My opinions are just as valid.”
The beauty of the scientific method, when done right, is that it protects us from ideology and bias, and helps us understand what is true and what really works. At its best, science can inform sound public policy. But when we ignore or misinterpret science, we move backwards toward a time when irrationality and superstition prevailed.
Yes, we have experienced some of that scientific ignorance in the comments on this blog.

Ranging between the reprehensible and evil is the Left's constant denial of national dumbth, and their role in creating an ignorant citizenry through almost half century control of our public educational systems from K through post-graduate schools. They are following the teachings of communist leaders from Lenin to Alinsky in how to fundamentally transform America. And as surveys like those you cite show, this transformation of intellect is already complete; now comes the full-court press on the political structure of the US abetted by technology driven systemic unemployment. Flynn Flips-will "co-operate" with special council-pleads guilty to lying to the FBI. Will Flynn be the John Dean of Trumpgate?
Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty Friday to a single count of making false statements to the FBI, becoming the latest Trump associate ensnared by Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.
Flynn entered the plea at a federal court in Washington, D.C., shortly after Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office released a one-count charging document.

"The charging document reveals that on or about Dec. 29, Flynn asked Kislyak to "refrain from escalating the situation in response to sanctions that the United States had imposed on Russia that same day." The document also reveals that Kislyak told Flynn that Russia "had chosen to moderate its response to those sanctions as a result of his request."

The purpose of the calls, according to the source, was to assure the other nations that the incoming adminstration would soon be in place and not to overreact to last-minute actions taken by the Obama team."
Still no collusion, and criminal acts.

I must be on to something.
You can always go back to FED budgets of decades past.( that means jack squat today)
NO "legal" legalized dope sales after the 1ST in the County.
"Neither Grass Valley nor Nevada County have opted to allow medical or recreational cannabis dispensaries in their respective jurisdictions."
Did you see that in your "review"?

Nevada City has agreed to have one dispensary Walt. I'm sure you know that.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 01 December 2017 at 01:34 PM
So what Paul? NO rec. weed sales.
So much for the great "tax" roundup.
"Nevada County's first brick-and-mortar cannabis dispensary, which was approved by the Nevada City Council this month, will only allow customers with doctors' recommendations for medical cannabis to purchase products at its storefront."
Not the great financial boom you tried to sell us.
So who was more "correct" now that the cards are on the table? Me or you? ( can you remember back that far?)
It's pretty much how I called it.( and yes, I WILL toot my own horn.)
Posted by: Walt | 01 December 2017 at 01:42 PM
Walt
the financial advantages are not necessarily dispensary sales but the sales that our local certified and registered growers will be making to statewide distribution outlets. It is and will remain a multi billion dollar legal California industry that Nevada County will be part of.
I'm sure you are supportive of income for our soon to be legal farmers and cultivators and the economic contribution that will make to the County.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 01 December 2017 at 01:46 PM
I guess you missed the part about big dope cutting out your Mom and Pop growers. Oh well. Nevada county isn't the only game in the state.
Think quality testing is cheap? Who do you think is supposed to pay for that? NOT the "sellers".

PaulE 106pm - Is that your response to my 1140am?
Posted by: George Rebane | 01 December 2017 at 02:56 PM
Separate question related to todays news. In response to you're 11:40 I have to say that the purpose to the appointment of Mueller as special council is to investigate what "measurable or even reasonably feasible interference in our 2016 elections can be laid on the Russians? " as you put it. When you have an admission to lying to FBI investigators about contact with the Russians it asks the question what is the reason for the lie.
Keep in mind Mueller's admitted lie was while he was Security Chief as appointed by Trump so that was essentially "work product" as an employee of this country not as a private individual.
George, you worked in high security situations so you of all people should appreciate the seriousness of lying to the FBI. Is it not a safe assumption that it was not for a trivial purpose that he lied unless he's really stupid which I doubt.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 01 December 2017 at 03:18 PM
An expansion of my 3:18 is to ask the question: Did anyone instruct Flynn to lie and who would that be? The bigger fish in this situation would be Kushner or Trump himself with Sessions lurking in the shadows. That's likely why Sessions bailed and got out of the investigation which intimately led to Mueller being appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein .
Posted by: Paul Emery | 01 December 2017 at 03:41 PM
Well Breitbart may have answered my question
UPDATE: The Associated Press appeared to confirm these reports later, saying Kushner is the “very senior” official named in Flynn’s guilty plea.

Walt - Medical weed and its derivatives has been sold legally in Nevada City for at least 3 years. There simply hasn't been a storefront. You can buy medical weed LEGALLY (under California statute and county code) as easily as ordering a Dominoes pizza and it will be delivered to your door. Google "marijuana delivery Nevada County" and select your preferred provider. If I checked in here more often I might understand the posturing by all those on both sides of the issue, but the fact is the cows are out of the barn and they aren't looking back. 1st of the year it will be legal to buy recreation pot via courier in Nevada City/Grass Valley. It won't be long before the storefront will be open for rec sales also. I guarantee it.
Posted by: jon smith | 01 December 2017 at 03:50 PM
It wasn't the call during the transition ya po' ol' fakenewsman it was Flynn misrepresenting it to Pence and the FBI. So much for your breathless collusion rancid Russian dressing fantasies. Kushener telling him to make the call is no crime either. Its a massive leap to claim Kushner told him to lie to Pence and the FBI. ;-)
Posted by: Don Bessee | 01 December 2017 at 03:52 PM
Assuming your are correct Don, what is your speculation as to why Flynn would lie to the FBI and Vice Pres about what was discussed? The fact is we don't know what was discussed in the Russia calls but you'd better believe Mueller does.

PaulE 318pm - I am not debating or denying that Flynn admitted lying to the FBI. Nor am I piling on and assuming, as do you, that he did all the other things you allege. But in the final analysis I take it that your answer (to my 1140am) is that you know of no "measurable or even reasonably feasible interference in our 2016 elections that can be laid on the Russians?"
We have to keep in mind, in the face of these attractive and enjoyable diversionary pyrotechnics, the seminal issue here that is central to the only commission that Mueller received from the DoJ.

Flynn was apparently representing Erdogan of Turkey and lied about that to all. Simple.

The entire American Intelligence community determined and stated that the Russians did interfere with our elections. I mean even Trump states that it's true
"Trump says he believes intelligence assessment that Russia interfered in election — but Putin does not"

What was that interference? Buying $100,000 worth of ads split 50-50 on candidates in a two billion dollar election? Come on now, tell how and what these Rooskies did. Waiting.

Looks like John Conyers is claiming racism on calls for him to resign. He says the powers that be are not calling for Franken to resign as he is a white cracker. You cannot make this stuff up.

Wqhy don't you ask Trump Todd. He agrees there was interference.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 01 December 2017 at 06:42 PM
Asking you Paul Emery. Stop dodging. What composes the interference?
Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 01 December 2017 at 06:44 PM
Attempted to interfere with no tangible effect, not one vote, none, nada, zip, zero. Now what about the po' ol' party parrots squawking about collusion before the election for the last year? NOTHING. We do know shrillary paid for the phony file now, that's new. A 10 year old issue for Manafort and a wanna be lied, then Flynn lied to the FBI just like he did to VP Pence early this year.
Time to fess up there was nothing but your breathless pearl clutching for the last year and you have been basted in rancid Russian dressing ya po' ol' fakenewsman. ;-)
Posted by: Don Bessee | 01 December 2017 at 06:45 PM
Fresh Russian soup as of today Don. You don't get it do you? The mission of Mueller was not to determine tangible effect but to determine if there were those within the Trump election team who attempted or succeeded in colluding with the Russians to interfere with our elections. Getting closer every day. the sheer magnitude of lying by Trump and his team is astounding.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 01 December 2017 at 07:01 PM
Just watching Flynn leading a cheer of lock her up. What a crack up. Look who is an admitted felon just a few months later.

PaulE 622pm - If what you say is true, then answer my 1140am, or better yet, get your claimed agencies to answer - without specifics, all we have is hot air.
Posted by: George Rebane | 01 December 2017 at 07:11 PM
Boy you are on fire with crazy, wishful, possibly delusional advocacy of collusion even when the plea today was about a January 2017 event. POST ELECTION ya po' ol' fakenewsman. NO COLLUSION. The real world fact is that there was ZERO impact by the Russians and the campaign had nothing going with the rooskies during the election as you loudly trumpeted for the last year.
Keep wallowing in your fevered delusions. Nothing happened during the election other than Steele gave madam liar liar pantsuits on fire's money to some Russians and they peddled it to the lame stream media who gobbled it up like you. Looks like the only one who got a golden shower was your team! ;-)

Just heading out the door.
One thing for sure Mueller knows everything Flynn knows and that may be considerable and may keep Flynn and his son out of the slammer. He would only trade up so the next likely to fall is Kushner and possible the Trumplet. If he plays trade up with them it's only Big
Daddy left. It that happens Trump will be left twisting slowly in the wind.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 01 December 2017 at 07:34 PM
Here is the thing.. If Trump goes down (Kushner is next on the chopping bloc) all of you trumpeters who have been blowing his trumpet for the last 18 months or more will have ZERO credibility, nada, zip. No rational person will believe a thing any of you say again whether it's about politics, climate change, or the weather. Repent while you still can like Flynn and Manafort.

No one believes you now the oh so cross one so who cares about a troll not being honest or posturing as if you speak for the world? How about applying that standard to team lefty like the po' ol' fakenewsmans rantings for the last 18 months? How was that crow pie? ;-)

Paul, you've been making the same sorts of predictions for the last two years. Perhaps there is LSD in the water at KVMR?
An interesting aside is an interview of Leon Panetta by Chuck Todd where Panetta made it clear it was a stretch to say talking to the Russians by the transition team would be criminal.

Honestly, Paul Emery and RobertC have no idea what they are talking about. Flynn pleaded guilty to something that was legal and his lying about that legality was so stupid it must hurt his ass. Anyway, even if the Trump people talked to the Rooskies during the campaign it was not an illegal act. And now we know Flynn talked to the Russian Ambassador during the transition which is totally legal. My goodness the two libnuts creaming their jeans that Trump will be going down is just too funny. And RovertC, who cares what you think anyway. If what you say happens, you really think what we here say matters to anyone else? But thanks anyway, I take that as a compliment.

Kinda weird that the FBI Director Comney already testified in a closed session of the Congress (while still FBI Director) about the very issue Flynn has is going to plead guilty to...one count of lying to the FBI. When asked about his investigation of Flynn, Comney told the committee that he did not believe Flynn intentionally lied, rather he was confused and confused about times and dates and places. Comney for that reason did not bring prosecution. Flynn said it was on a Tuesday, when it really was on a Thursday!! Known as a procedural crime in Justice Department circles. Comney saw it one way, Mueller sees it another.
Kinda weird that Flynn pleaded guilty to lying about a post election meeting that was perfectly legal, not even a misdemeanor or crime or treason or anything wrong. But, but, but, Flynn met with the Russian Ambassador. So what. No foul there. I would hope ANY President elect would met or contact or send messages to every forgein .eader under the sun. Best to hit the ground running one hour after the Inauguration. Heck, the Obama Campaign made contacts with the Iranian Mullahs before he was even won the election. Nothing to see here.
But, but,but Flynn did not notifiy Big Brother of the meeting. So what. Ain’t required to.
But, but, but, Flynn violated the Logan Act. No he didn’t. The Logan Act, of what...1790 something, prohibits private citizens from conducting foreign policy. Flynn was the representative of the legally elected President of the US at the time as the President-elect was assembling his administration. Was not acting as a private citizen.
But, but. but, Trump (Flynn) interfered with Obama Administration and U.N. policy. No he didn’t. Flynn told the Russians that Trump totally opposes the unconscionable U.N. Resolution condemning Israel and his administration will be taking a completely different course with Israel and will do everything they can do to have the U.N. Resolution rewritten, repealed, or ripped to shreds. A heads up to all. Come late Jan, 2017 things are going to be different. Not I terferri g with the then current forgein policy of Obama.
But, but, but...... Bottomline; with our eavesdropping, spying, and countless high tech surveillance capabilities, we know, Mueller knows, the entire Deep State knows exactly what Flynn said the the Russian Ambassador and what the Rooskie said to Flynn. Flynn was NOT charged with conspiracy, collusion, or anything to do with Trump conspiring with them dirty no good former Soviet KBG agents to affect the election results of a US election. Mueller got nothing from Flynn. Mueler found nothing there. Otherwise Flynn would have beeen indicted for breaking some law about colluding with the Rooskies.
So, at this point, let’s see what we got. We got Manafort charged with one count of lying to the FBI over something that happened years before the Trump Campaign even existed. We got some guy named George with a funny last name being indicted on some money charge, without any charge of tax invasion. A Treasury Department violation, crime. We got Flynn pleading guilty to one count of lying to the FBI concerning an event that happened after the 2016 election was over...and perfectly legal to attend.
But, but, but....we need to know who sent Flynn to talk to the dirty rotten Russian Ambassado in January, 2017, a couple of months are the 2016 election results were tallied. Do you really need to know. If it was ztrumo who directed the setting, that is no crime.
Things could change, but the Libbies are trying to catch the wind. But, then again, hope burns eternal...unless you are pa 4-Star General namer Michael Flyn. Flynn is a broken man, no hope. Broke, financially flat broke, now has to sell his house, his wife and family cannot take it anymore, and Mueller is going after Flynn’s son. Mueller broke him, just as Mueller sent the goons to swoop down on Manafort’s pad in a predawn raid to have some fun, drew guns on the startled Mrs. Manafort in her night gown, shouting at her to get down in the floor with multiple guns pointed at her head. Wonder if they broke Mrs. Manafort yet.
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind. The Intolerant Left are trying to catch the wind.

Grave concerns fron RR's favorite judge. Nowhere for Muller to go but up and where do you think that leads? I'm stocking up on popcorn.
"Fox News’ Judge Andrew Napolitano on Friday reacted to the news that Donald Trump’s former national security adviser Mike Flynn has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI as part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, referring to the plea as “the tip of a prosecutorial iceberg.,,,,,,“What did Gen. Flynn give to Bob Mueller to induce Mueller to reduce that exposure?” Napolitano wondered. “We will find out soon.””
