It was because the entire Intelligence community concluded that the Russians had been interfering in our elections and Obama instilled sanctions that the Russians opposed and were using as leverage to prevent the deal that Flynn and his former partner had been working on. Flynn contacted him to say that Trump was calling off the sanctions and their project would be able to go ahead. So Russians say do this for me and I'll do this for you. Collusion for sure if true.

Walt

Short memory again Paul,,, "O" told Putin to "knock it off".
Then of course,,
"The Obama administration feared that acknowledging Russian meddling in the 2016 election would reveal too much about intelligence gathering and be interpreted as “taking sides” in the race, the former secretary of homeland security said Wednesday."
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/21/us/politics/jeh-johnson-testimony-russian-election-hacking.html

It was OK because Hillary was supposed to win. Remember that? ( nope)
BTW... What's the disposition on those sanctions? I can't find where Trump lifted ANY. He sure added a few.
Seems what your reading is LIB bullshit.

Walt

"because the entire Intelligence community concluded that the Russians had been interfering in our elections "
Going to use that one again? LOL!!!!! Your off your memory meds again.
"“Let me just start off by saying I heard it was 17 agencies,” Trump said when asked about the intelligence assessment. “I said, ‘Boy, that’s a lot.’ Do we even have that many intelligence agencies, right? Let’s check it. And we did some very heavy research. It turned out to be three or four — it wasn’t 17 — and many of your compatriots had to change their reporting, and they had to apologize, and they had to correct.”

Here... Let me give you a fresh shovel. You will need it to dig yourself out that nice hole you made with the last one.

Paul Emery

The entire intelligence signed on to the conclusions in the Intelligence Assessment. Do you deny that Walt?

Not sure if this is the right place for Flynn talk, but here goes. Obama gave the big middle finger to Israel on the way out the door. No US administration ever took a shit on Israel’s head at the U.N. like Obama did as a parting shot. Couple that with the ninth hour (11th hour) Russian sanctions Obama made on his way out.

The funny thing is that the President- elect’s people informed the Obama Administration of its desire to make contracts with the Russian Ambassador before contacts were made. All on the up and up.. It’s beginning to smell like a set up. Set ‘em up, then knock them down.

Why Flynn lied to the FBI I have not a clue. What we know is that Flynn talked to the FBI without a lawyer. Normally I would encourage anyone talking to the FBI to be forthright, candid, and honest as the day is long. Now, I ain’t so sure without a lawyer present.
Only have talked with the FBI in person once. Back when I was the on-site manager (unpaid) for a non-profit. A quasi halfway house if you prefer. Anyway, one day the FBI came by asking about a female who once frequented the place. Yes, I knew who she was, she had a kid with a former client, and haven’t seen or heard of her in months. No idea of her whereabouts. That was it, all I knew, which was not helpful to the FBI. The father of the female’s child was found dead in a trailer, ODed, and I heard family was raising the kid. The FBI left, never to return. Don’t know why they were looking for her.
.
Later after the interview, I remembered that someone said she was hanging out in the Pismo Beacjh area, forgot the name of the town. So, I guess if the FBI came back, I could have been charged with lying.becase my story would have changed with the remembrance of more information. Comney already investigated the Flynn’s lie(s) and concluded that Flynn was confused on some details and recall, but did not intentionally lie to the FBI.....as revealed in his testimony to a closed door committee hearing in Congress.

Flynn fought all the charges tooth and nail until he ran out of money. His home is on the market, he owes more than what he is worth, and he is trying to save his son and family from anymore living hell.
I can relate. I sat in a jail once facing some felonies with some nasty time attached, like 5 years or more and two counts. Of course I was innocent and deeply concerned, being locked up thousands of miles from home, not knowing a soul in that neck of the woods. It was a Friday night and the courts were closed till Monday or Tuesday.. The DA came to me on Tuesday morning (I was in chains) and said that their preminilary investigation shows no evidence that felonies were committed by moi. The story was falling apart according to him..
. He offered me a deal to plead guilty to a Class C misdeamenor and I could walk. I told him to way, I am innocent. I did not do what I was being charged with, period. Go pound sand.
The DA then told me I could plead my case in 6 weeks at a trail. 6 weeks! Stuck there for 6 weeks to fight the good fight? Out of state dude not eligible for bail to boot.
I had rent to pay, mouths to feed, taxes to file (April 15th was approaching fast) and need to get back home, like ASAP. I was just in that area of that State for a friggin weekend.
So, I thought about it, called the DA back over, and told him deal, still in chains on my ankles and wrists. I was lead into a courtroom, given 2 minutes with some standby public defender, and faced the Judge. Then I thought about the girls...so liitle...without the only parent they knew. I stammered, stuttered, grimaced, and choked on the magic word trying to get that word out of my mouth. It was hard, darn near impossible, but finally the word out of my mouth. That word was “guilty”.
The Judge-looked straight at me, said “Guilty, but what?” I told him the story. He replied he cannot do anything about my guilty plea and told the guard to get this man out of the courtroom and out of here. A Sheriff patted me on the back, gave me my clothes, led me down a hallway, opened the door and there was a cab waiting for me, in the middle of a blizzard. I left my jacket inside, but never looked back, said screw the jacket, and hopped in the cab the court provided me. A couple years or so later I received a letter in the mail that informed me that the Great State of So-n-So has rescinded my guilty plea and the whole event never happened.

So, yeah, I had it easy. Not so with Flynn. He got destroyed, but I would have taken the plea in the same circumstances. His family came first.

Biker Bill aka the Dribbler

Thought I'd let you know my group performed for the Queen of England in 1983 at the request of Governor Deukmejian. Also we did four tours of Europe playing in seven different countries ans well as 12 States. Just for the record.

Walt

Give it a rest Paul. I'm not going to that bizarre place in the weeds you like to take people.
You sure found their info credible all of a sudden. The same ones that confirmed WMDs in the Gulf. OR is it that they are believable now because they are all "O"and Co. minions today?

You have some explaining to do.

Todd Juvinall

And what was that interference, Paul Emery?

Walt

Yaa, I know of your gig with the Queen. So? I didn't see where you got Knighted.
I met the Pope, and so did the wife and kids. The children got blessed by the big guy himself.(like anyone cares)

Paul Emery

Bill

So you contend that the Event happened at the Miners Foundry, that it was a comedy event headlined by a famous female comedian and the opener was a male that assaulted your relative. Also that you never did inform the Foundry of the incident.

Walt

Th Queen is nothing to brag about Paul, she has a horrible taste for music.

So how bout those intelligence outfits you like all of a sudden?

George Rebane

PaulE 339pm - we all collude which in its basic form means for two or more people to cooperate in confidence. I tried to educate you as to the different kinds of collusions. You are implying some kind of criminal activity in your torrent of allegations - be specific or continue irrelevant.

Bill Tozer

Let it ride, Paul. It does not concern you. Besides, it was way back in to Obama Administration. We are talking about Trump and nothing else matters, right? Nothing else matters in the whole world except removing Trump from office and, of course, toss in some growing the Sacred Marihuana Houchie Houchie plant. Can’t leave that one out. Besides those two big ones, nothing else matters..

Did you tell the Queen how incredulous you are that the Brits treated the Celts so horribly? Just plum horrible. A big burr in the saddle, eh? Did you let that moral outrage fly on the old Gal?

You are not alone, Punchy. Obama is still angry how the conquering Brits treated his Grandfather, as evidenced by his leaving the British diplomatic corps waiting for him for hours when they came by appointment to congratulate the new President. Obama eventually went upstairs to dine with Michele and shit on the Brits’ heads.. Revenge is a dish best served cold....or so they say. I am not into getting even, myself. I just put it in the memory bank and let ‘er ride. Insert smiley face icon here.

re Paul's obsession with Russian 'interference' with our last pres election. One can simply ask: Kept anyone from voting? No. Change anyone's vote? No. Alter the results in any way? No. Cause the Dems to run a crook and liar for pres? No.
Paul is just butt-hurt because he was certain Trump would lose.
Whom to blame?
Certainly not Paul. And when was the last time you ever heard Paul admit he was ever wrong? So. What to do?
The Russians!
And the Russians it will be until Paul dies. It lives in his head 24/7 that the man he thought would never even be nominated won the election. And he just will never admit that it was a simple case of being wrong and letting it go.
Sad.

Walt

But Scott! He sang for the Queen! He dislikes the fact we won the war with England. Twice.

Bill Tozer

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that whenever President Donald J. Trump leaves our shores, former President Obama shows up in the exact same places one or two weeks later. Where was Trump’s first oversees visit? Italy or something. Trump leaves, Obama shows up. Had a nice tea with the world leaders or their closest associates from the countries Trump just visited. Trump goes to China, sure enough Obama hits the region has a nice cup of tea with the Chinese and other Asian countries. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist or assign nefarious deeds to a coincidence in scheduling, but it kinda appears at first glance that somebody other than the current President is conducting foreign policy. Vaguely remember someone saying a private citizen conducting foreign policy is a violation of the....buzzword time...The Logan Act. Good thing I ain’t no conspiracy theorist. That would make me as stupid as I look. Looks never been my strong point. Insert smiley icon here.

Wonder which country and region Trump will visit next? Time will tell.

Specifically according to cited reports , Flynn on the day of the inauguration contacted his former business partner to inform him that all will be well with their Russian deal because the Russians will approve it as soon as Trump backs off the Obama Administrations imposed sanctions. Do you find that to be a legal communication and to what extend is that supposition of Trumps soon to be action classified material. A further question is whether trump knew of the arrangement . Flynn then lied to the FBI and VP about the nature of his phone calls to the Russians. Trump now admits he knew Flynn lied before he fired him and indeed before Flynn lied to VP Pense. Indeed he didn't inform Pense that Flynn lied to him if you believe Trumps version of the story.

Paul Emery

It's not so easy to "Let it ride" when you publicly state "That relative is one of Biker Bill’s daughters. Fuck you Miner’s Foundry for sweeping it under the carpet. "

The Foundry staff, which are honorable and great community servants as well as good friends of mine weren't even informed of the incident by you or your family.

Russia helped Trump by meddling in our election to favor Trump with the payback being easing of sanctions. That's my view

Gregory

This wss from Bloomberg. Surprised you missed it

"Copson told the whistle-blower that he "just got a text message" from Flynn that the project was "good to go" and to contact their business colleagues to "let them know to put things in place."

Copson showed his phone with the text message to the whistle-blower, who saw that the time stamp of the message was 12:11, but didn’t read the text. The whistle-blower recalled the time stamp because it was during Trump’s address.

Don Bessee

The tortured irrational mutterings of the po' ol' fakenewsman are incredibly getting more and more confused and deranged which is saying a lot considering the fevered rants over the last year. But it is clear everyone now sees that its all just that, irrational mutterings that have only a whiff of truth like real names, not facts, just some touch points. Nothing burger deluxe is all the party parrot serves up with a big side of rancid Russian dressing. ;-)

Paul Emery

What the hell are you talking about Don? Can you translate your 7:04 so we can understand it?

from Paul: "Russia helped Trump by meddling in our election to favor Trump..."
OK -for the umpteenth time - how did Russia alter the election to favor Trump?
Did they make you vote for Trump, Paul?
And remember that Obama knew about the Russian meddling and claimed that he stopped them. So they couldn't have meddled. Right?

And BTW - we're still waiting for Paul to produce proof that the Russians had dirt on the Republicans that they didn't release. Been months, now Paul.

Yes, Paul, the following was in the Bloomberg piece, but getting from:

"Copson told the whistle-blower that he "just got a text message" from Flynn that the project was "good to go" and to contact their business colleagues to "let them know to put things in place."

to

"The claim that the Russians would approve it as soon as Trump backs off the Obama sanctions"

is the problem. I think your 'spidey senses' are filling in the logical gaps because you just know it's true. You can feel it! Whereas I look at it and have no reason to think it was more complicated that Obama's sanctions were stopping it before, and those are going "poof" now that Trump is sworn in.

Hmm. Wasn’t Harry Reid’s son interested in that 587,000 acres of land back in 2014. That land contains a lot of minerals, one of which may be uranium. But, you can’t believe everything you hear or see. 2014? Uranium One? Nah, that has to be fakenews.

Meanwhile, up at the Oregon standoff (Jan p, 2016) the dude that surrendered came out said he quit when he saw multiple red dots from sniper rifles zeroed in on......his grandchildren. Don, about Little Puggy Metrosexual Rocket Man.

Yes, we sent our 5th generation planes to join in the war games with South Korea. But, the numbers of planes and equipment were slightly less than last year, something that did not go unnoticed by The Peoples Democratic Republic of Korea. It’s those little gems behind the bluster and media fretting that I find so encouraging.

Trump returning land to the Great State of Utah? Orin Hatch was beaming with delight and even Never Trumper Mike Lee was cheering like there is no tomorrow. Undoing what Obama did going out the door appears to be a full time job.

Oh Jerusalem, oh Jerusalem. It’s that place even mentioned in the Koran? The Ahabs say it’s the 3rd or 4th most sacred place in Islam, yet no one has yet to uncover any holy reference to the holy site to back up that claim. Let’s see. King Solomon built the temple and it stood for centuries. Then the Babylonians came and destroyed it. Then Cyress King of Persia let the Hebrews rebuild it, giving the Jews religious freedom and acknowledging their claim to being the sole holy site to practice their rituals. Then the Romans came and destroyed the city. Then Muhammad appeared on the scene. Then......well, I suppose we could declare New York City as the capital of Israel if we wanted to, but it just would not be the same. Yo Ahabs, poop or get off the pot.

If nothing else, Trump does not seem to follow in his his predecessors’ footsteps and kick a bunch of cans down the road. He must have his head screwed on wrong. He actually believes he can tackle these unsolvable problems. He is not acting like a politician, I must say. He must be crazy. Kick the friggin cans down the road, President Trump , and all will be well. Or maybe not. :)

OK everybody, you just read it. Paul Emery's new, new, new standard of proof is:
"it is inconceivable"
That's it - any time Paul asks for proof, just roll your eyes and say: "oh Paul, it's inconceivable!"
I'm glad we have that all settled.
No more digging up facts and citing sources.
Thanks Paul - this will be way more simple.

George Rebane

Administrivia - Well sumbich, ScottO (643am) and PaulE (over the years) have made a milestone contribution to these debates. I've often wanted to use 'it's inconceivable' as the only support for one of my arguments, and always I've backed off with 'Nah, nobody would accept that.' But then, conceivability is in the eye of the conceiver, and why shouldn't my conceivables be as valid as the other guy's conceivables? So henceforth let it be known that personal conceivability is now an acceptable citation and element of proof. I can already see various levels of conception coming into use, with the indisputable level, from which all other ripostes must shrink, called 'immaculate conception'.

The text messages that got Mueller’s butt boy Peter removed from the Special Counsel’s team were brought to light by the Inspector General of the Justice Department. Without the IG’s uncovering them, they would have never been an issue and Peter would still be investigating Trump after rewriting Comney’s description of Hillary’s handling of State classified material from the crime of “gross negilence” to the non crime of “extreme carelessness.” Let that sink in. I find it inconceivable that Mueller did not know. The FBI is holding back 10,000 of Peter’s texts, to be released at a time and date yet to be determined......I won’t hold my breath.

Tht is what happens when you abandon principles. Thank goodness for the honesty of the IG of the Justice Department.

It is safe to speculate that the Russians would use the same techniques and enthusiasm to gather information negative to Trump that they did with HIllary, to obtain leverage if Trump goes south on them. I mean this is a group that hacked emails with negative information towards Hillary to help swing the election towards Trump, There are of other examples of Russians attempting to and in some cases succeeding in hacking into our election computers and election offices.

They indeed took Trumps encouragement when he said " I will tell you this, Russia: If you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”

That is indeed encouraging a foreign country to break the law of which they obliged and made their findings available to Wikileaks for publication

Yes, my speculation that it is inconceivable that they would not peruse the same tactics against Trump is a more than reasonable speculation considering recent history. The material they gather would then be available as a bargaining chip, to put it likely, they could use against Trump when necessary.

Gregory

PaulE 930am - Your logic continues to astound. You have never responded to my explaining to you that "Trumps (sic) encouragement" was to reveal to the world what already was missing and declared purposely deleted/scrubbed by Hillary herself. At the time of Trump's encouragement the emails were already stolen and/or missing. Trump and the rest of us around the globe wanted to see these emails, and if Russia had them, then it was natural for any concerned citizen to ask that they be revealed so that more informed decisions could be made prior to the election. Our government and the entire press corps was looking for those 30K emails and continues to do so to this day (Wikileaks partial publications excepted).

"Latest revelations make the entire ‘collusion’ probe look like a partisan hit"

That's from the Editorial Board of the NY Post. It starts with

So Peter Strzok wasn’t just a top investigator for special counsel Robert Mueller until he was axed for anti-Trump and pro-Clinton bias: He was also a major player in the Hillary email probe and the FBI work that led to the “collusion” investigation.

And Mueller and the FBI both dragged their feet on sharing key info about all this with Congress.

Including the news that Strzok was the one who changed then-FBI chief Jim Comey’s draft language on Clinton’s use of that private server from “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless” in the final version...

Cutting to the chase

The public doesn’t know just how egregious Strzok’s bias was, and won’t until the release of his texts with his mistress, an FBI lawyer who (sigh) was also on Mueller’s team.

But as things stand, it now looks like the fix was well and truly in on the Hillary probe. Far worse, it also looks like the “collusion” probe was a partisan hit from the start — which undermines the basis for Mueller’s own investigation.

What a mess.

Well, it is safe say that The Punch Drunk One is consistent. Or is it The One Who Drinks The Punch? No matter. Since the election and the smoking gun “Don’t Eat Yellow Snow” Clinton Campaign opposition fantasy that was all dressed up and peddled as an official Dossier, Popinjay has said the same thing. Repeatedly. For his consistently, I give him full credit.

The song and dance goes like this. (Unquote) What concerns me is that the Russians have all this dirt on Trumpf and they can blackmail him at any time. Unquote. That replaced the (unquote) what concerns me is Trumpf had no foreign policy experience and Putin will eat his lunch, (unquote).

I always wondered exactly what foreign policy experience Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagen, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barrack Hussein Obama had when they were elected to the highest office, but I have strayed off the topic.

The topic today is Punchy (again), is it not? So, we have to go back and litigate Hillary’s missing e-mails that got treated with Bleachbot? A good straight shot of Lysol or Mr. Clean would have cleaned the server real nice and purify like. Or let’s decry Don’s support of Measure W, or......whatever Punchy is grasping at straws today. Yes, the final polls were within 3 points, but that was not what Punchy was saying for weeks, nay months, leading up to the election. I know, let’s talk about Nevada County having a Democrat Party majority, excluding Punchy’s vote, of course.

Blackmail! Extortion! My goodness, Trump actually desired to have better relations with the Russians and other countries to start off the new presidency. He must be insane. How Native can Trumpft be? Make bombs not love. Trumpf will sucking the chrome off of Putin’s doorknob! .
They got the goods on Trump now and “my concern” is that the Rooskies will pull Trumpf’s strings. It is safe to say Putin has Trumpf in his back pocket and Trump has no foreign policy experience. Or is that Trumpft is in Putin’s front pocket. No matter. It’s blackmail time. It is inconcevaboe that the Russians do not have blackmail dirt on Trumpft and his greasy bilingual son, Brandon, age 11. Putin is just waiting for the right time to blackmail The Liar in Chief.

There is a certain comfort in consistency. Comfort because it’s so familiar and some have a difficult time with change. Never change Punchy, it gives me comfort.

Just a start

Please correct me but my recollection of your concern of the Russian interference in our elections has been expressed as (my paraphrase) we do it as well as do all countries. Not once do I recall you speaking out any urgent concern as to the Russian actions ,

Don Bessee

Oh now its Georges fault. What a fine example of the local lefty lunacy. ;-)

George Rebane

PaulE 1110am - That is absolutely correct. All countries (including US and Russia) do what they can to influence elections in other countries so as to serve their national interests. Given this, there has been no evidence presented that Russia's attempts to influence our 2016 election enjoyed any manner of success. All the progressive parrots are able to do regarding that is to repeat that US intelligence agencies concur that Russia attempted to influence the 2016 election outcome. Announcing such an attempt is simply repeating a tautology from which the US Left has tried to spin some sinister form of collusion between Putin and Trump for which there exists no evidence after almost two years of investigations.

So George then we do agree that the Russians do what they can to influence elections "so as to serve their national interests." IN this case what were the national interests they visioned would be served by aiding in the election of Trump?

Yes, at this point I agree that there is no clear evidence they succeeded in swinging the election but there is much evidence they tried and there is much evidence the Trump team solicited their aid. An example:

On July 8, 2017, Trump Jr. tweeted that he agreed to meeting yhe Russians with the understanding that he would receive information damaging to Hillary Clinton.

Paul Emery

From the New York Timees:

WASHINGTON — Before arranging a meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer he believed would offer him compromising information about Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump Jr. was informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father’s candidacy, according to three people with knowledge of the email.

"Yes, at this point I agree that there is no clear evidence they succeeded in swinging the election but there is much evidence they tried and there is much evidence the Trump team solicited their aid."

There is no evidence whatsoever the Trump team solicited Putin's aid, Paul, and Trump Jr. didn't get anything of use from the Russian (not 'the Russians') lawyer who was peddling crap. And no evidence the Russians affected even one vote. The $100K they spent on Facebook ads probably didn't make a rounding error's bit of difference in any battleground state. It might have made California a bit more lopsided.

They tried many doors. They were locked. Macedonian teenagers probably had more luck hacking Clinton's rogue server.

this information is in the hands of Mueller. I'm sure he has copies of the email.

"Donald Trump Jr. was informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father’s candidacy, according to three people with knowledge of the email."

That was the lure to get the Trumplet and the campaign team to come to a meeting at the rump Tower and they went for it. T

Gregory

" "Donald Trump Jr. was informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father’s candidacy, according to three people with knowledge of the email".

And what did the email actually say, Paul? The NY Times relied on three anonymous sources who claimed to have seen it. Were they better at reading comprehension than KVMR's news director?

And what actually got produced at that meeting besides Bullcrap and the Trumpers in attendance deciding quickly it was a bloody waste of time?

Paul, you keep spinning trying to catch your own tail.

Devon Nunes' press release

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes issued the following statement today after the House Ethics Committee announced it had ended its investigation of allegations against him and would take no further action:

“On April 6, 2017, the Ethics Committee announced that it would investigate allegations that I made unauthorized disclosures of classified information. I’d like to thank the Ethics Committee for completely clearing me today of the cloud that was created by this investigation, and for determining that I committed no violation of anything—no violation of House Rules, law, regulations, or any other standards of conduct.

“While I appreciate the Ethics Committee’s work, I need to reiterate that the allegations against me were obviously frivolous and were rooted in politically motivated complaints filed against me by left-wing activist groups. I respect the ethics process, but I remain dismayed that it took an unbelievable eight months for the Committee to dismiss this matter.

“Furthermore, as Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and as a Member of Congress, I am concerned about the unprecedented step the Ethics Committee took in both taking up allegations of unauthorized disclosures of classified information—a review that has historically been undertaken by non-partisan professional staff within the respective congressional committees—and how it ultimately reviewed this specific matter.

“I am also concerned by public statements made by four of the Ethics Committee’s five Democrats that appeared to prejudge this matter before they began investigating the complaint.

“I therefore call on the Ethics Committee to publicly release all its transcripts related to my case. The Committee can work with me and my staff to ensure that any necessary protocols regarding classified information be adopted prior to any such release. Both this House and the American people would undoubtedly benefit from such an act of transparency and accountability to bolster confidence that partisanship does not infect the Ethics Committee’s investigations.”

I'll be reading it when it sees the light of day.

We are learning things all the time about what happened at that meeting. We do know that shortly thereafter Wikileaks published the emails Trump and Trump Jr were wanting. What we do know is Trump Jr responded to the Russian bait that they had information on Clinton on June 9 2016 and the Wikileaks dump of the Russian provided information was on July 22.

Here is some new information ast month from Fox News about the hacking, published by the Wall Street Journal

The Justice Department reportedly has garnered enough evidence to charge at least six Russian government operatives with hacking the Democratic National Committee's computers during the 2016 presidential election.

The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that federal prosecutors could bring charges early next year. The Journal reported that dozens of others may have also played a role in the cyberattack.

Multiple congressional probes and federal intelligence investigations are focusing on Russian interference and meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Those probes are ongoing and began even before the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller to investigate similar charges.

Dr. Rebane @ 5:20 pm.

That’s the second time today a word jumped off the page. Soliticed. Decided to let it ride earlier, not worth the waste of time. Solilicited? The Russian lawyer approached Jr. via a friend, changed her story once iinsidevand made it about a Russian child adoption law, and Jr, walked out. But, what the NYT story failed to mention is the Russian lady met with Fusion GPS founder Glen R. Simpson before she walked into the meeting and met with him immediately after the meeting. Probably to get his wire back from her. :)
Since the Golden Shower -Yellow Snow Dossier is at the heart and soul on the entire Russian Collusion story, one would think Mueller would be asking the lady (with Ukrainian connections as well) why she met with Fusion GPS founder and key person Glen Simpson before and after her impromptu meeting with Trump Jr. Who solicitated who? Who done did the evil vile vulgar and reprehensible soliciting? Isn’t ‘Soliciting’ something street walkers do?

The second word that jumped off the page today was Al FranknWeinstein’s word “weeks.” You have to be brain dead to believe he will resign in weeks. He said today that the Ethics Committee would clear him, but refuses to go that way. Why not? He said today that some allegations were lies, some interpreted wrongly, and he is the Champion of Women. So, why resign? So, why not absolve yourself through the Ethnics Committee? Why not fight false accusations? But no.
All the Dems are waiting for Roy Moore to win. Roy is the only one of the bunch that is fighting the allegations and calling them all lies. Roy, if he wins, ain’t going to resign. He ain’t going to drop out before the election either. So the Dems and will say after Roy Moore wins, “Hey, Moore did not resign, so why should Al Franknweinstein? The Republicans support finance child molestation! R’s bad for women, D’s bery bery good for women.

Punchy will be the first to say we cuddle with pedophiles . He already says we are Putin Cuddlers. I am sooo wounded....until I consider the source. Then it all makes perfect sense. Wonders never cease.

Gregory

Golly, Paul, if there were hackers who were Russian who got into the DNC servers, tell me... how is that "hacking the election"? The DNC is a private entity. Not governmental.

I'm more interested in this Strzok fella who is the subject du jour in hearings:
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2017/12/07/rep_jim_jordan_grills_fbi_director_wray_about_peter_strzok.html

Do you realize how incendiary it would be for the 2018 elections if Strzok knew he was taking DNC opposition research bought from Russians to the FISA court in order to get permission to spy on their opposition?

Paul Emery

Don

It was a Fox story about a WSJ article, both Conservative outlets. Either way the investigation is going to move on the Russians soon.

Paul Emery

More from Reuters

WSJ is a subscription website and not available

U.S. intelligence agencies have said Russian intelligence agencies were behind those cyber attacks, which resulted in thousands of emails and other documents being made public by WikiLeaks last year. The intelligence community concluded in January that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the campaign to sway the election in Trump’s favor.

Russia has denied it meddled in the election and Trump has denied that his campaign colluded with the Russian government.

If the case is brought by federal prosecutors, it would pinpoint the specific Russian military and intelligence hackers behind the attack on the DNC and the emails of John Podesta, who was campaign chairman for Trump’s Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.

It would be the second time the United States charged Russians with cyber crimes. In March, the Justice Department charged two Russian intelligence agents and two hackers with masterminding the 2014 theft of 500 million Yahoo accounts.

Unlike you ya po' ol' fakenewsman there are actually publicly documented facts and sworn testimony and financial records not to mention 10,000 texts/emails. ZERO speculation.

Bingo. They are getting smoked out now. It’s going take some time for Sessions to get his team in place and do some housecleaning. Hopefully under two years. What we have here is a textbook case of rouge agents controlling things over at the top tier at Justice.....and it’s investigative arm, the FBI. The dominos are all lined up and the first one just fell...named that domino strzok.
