"how to position their ‘Trump loves Putin’ narrative"

It's a good question, I wonder if any of the Green Libertarians might give a bit of insight into this.

Either the Trump/Putin lovefest will slowly sink under the waves, or somehow each bit of reality that doesn't meet the needs of the narrative will be redefined somehow.

Luckily, one of Putin's best friends forever in the US is the new National Security Advisor.

How's this for a guess. The new story is that Bolton will get us into a war with Russia.

Trump tried to take over the news cycle during “the Storm”. Didn’t work.

You can thank Democratic pressure for the action on Russia.

re: ArchieBunker@5:57PM

Is that true.

All I'm seeing is some newly ginned up story on Stormy's attorney vs Trump on campaign law. The whole sex deal turned in to the Al Capone's vault of political stories.

While you're here, what's the word on the street for Trump + Russia? Is that forgotten? Morphed into some a new wild and wonderful yarn? I gotta know.

So much for LIB news claim of Trump being fearful of Putin.
Trump throws them out... Yup,, that's showing his yellow stripe.

"So much for LIB news claim of Trump being fearful of Putin."

I'm not even sure what they believe in anymore. This addictive outrage behavior, mostly based on nothing, just leads from one meaningless story to the next. I wonder if the other 1/2 of the country would have been as badly behaved if Her Nibs had gotten a few thousand more votes here or there.

For sure there wouldn't have been a politically weaponized federal bureaucracy digging into her affairs. Wikileaks might have been the last candle flickering in that world, and I somehow doubt that Assange would still be alive at this point.

Confirmation issues are merely smart politics (as per the ambassador story above). You hold up the machine based on some outrage issue or the other, and then you make hay on how the Trump administration hasn't gone to the trouble to fill up the appointments yet. A win-win situation for everyone but the administration and the poor suffering hoi polloi.

We have dedicated 27 FBI staff to review the records that are potentially responsive to Chairman Goodlatte’s requests,” he wrote, adding he was “doubling the number of assigned FBI staff, for a total of 54, to cover two shifts per day from 8am to midnight to expedite completion of this project.”
But, a DOJ insider told Fox News that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has voiced his concern over the “unacceptable” pace with which the FBI is working and is “done” seeing his department criticized over it.
“He’s told Wray that the pace is unacceptable and that if the FBI needs to double the number of people working on this, then that’s what they need to do, but he is done seeing the Department criticized for the FBI’s slow walking of requests from Congress like the last administration when this requests should be a top priority,” the insider said.

George, your H/T link is pure gold. Wonder if anyone else went there...

We moved from So CA in 1998 and thence to AZ in 2002. I miss the Ocean.

Just because Clinton is "out of the news" by NO means, means she's out of hot water.

Just like pork butt in my smoker. Her goose will be cooked in due time.

re today's update - you can start with our good neighbor to the north. They have kangaroo court tribunals that have the power to financially destroy you even if you can 'prove' yourself innocent of any wrongdoing. Ask Mark Steyn. He and Macleans magazine were at least able to bring enough publicity to bear upon his case that the tribunal had to end it. Only approved grievance groups are allowed to bring charges.
As a Canadian member of Parliament famously pointed out - "Canadians do not have any freedom of speech".
Even HuffPo agrees.
Of course, HuffPo has no clue how to maintain that freedom.
First you need another freedom.

Don Bessee

I don't think this will come as a shock to anyone who was paying attention!

Newly uncovered text messages between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page suggest a possible coordination between high-ranking officials at the Obama White House, CIA, FBI, Justice Department and former Senate Democratic leadership in the early stages of the investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, according to GOP congressional investigators on Wednesday.
The investigators say the information provided to Fox News “strongly” suggests coordination between former President Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, then-Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid, and CIA Director John Brennan — which they say would “contradict” the Obama administration’s public stance about its hand in the process.

Wait a minute, Don - you're saying Bill Clinton and Atty Gen Lynch didn't secretly meet to discuss their grandkids?

Don Bessee

Closing the circle -

It has not been clear why McCain delivered the dossier to Comey in December 2016. By then, the FBI had not only already reportedly launched an investigation into Trump’s campaign partially utilizing the dossier, but Comey himself had two months earlier signed an application using the dossier to obtain a FISA warrant on Carter Page, who briefly served as a volunteer foreign policy adviser to Trump’s campaign.

Bill Tozer

1) Scott: Loretta Lynch, formerly on the defense team for the Clintons in the Whitewater Investigation, does not have any grandkids.
2) Concerning :”And staying on the Dems a bit – how about their”..........gifts that keep on giving! Bless their little hearts.

Village Idiots: “Assault weapons aren’t the problem. Handguns are the problem. By all means, ban AR-15s and the like, but handguns kill far more people. The solution is to repeal and replace the Second Amendment. Make gun ownership a privilege, not a right. … Gun ownership could be viewed as slavery by another name.” —actor Michael Ian Black

Non Compos Mentis: “We need a disney princess who’s had an abortion. We need a disney princess who’s pro-choice. We need a disney princess who’s an undocumented immigrant. We need a disney princess who’s actually a union worker. We need a disney princess who’s trans.” —Planned Parenthood Keystone in a tweet that’s been deleted

The BIG Lie: “[The census citizenship question] is a craven attack on our democracy and a transparent attempt to intimidate immigrant communities.” —DNC Chairman Tom Perez

"The solution is to repeal and replace the Second Amendment."
Pray tell - replace it with what?

George Rebane

Second Amendment (revised) – To keep and bear arms, and all other means of effectively resisting duly constituted authority, by civilians is illegal, except as regulated by the federal Departments of Defense and Justice. The illegal possession of arms shall be deemed a capital offense.

re: GeorgeR@11:44AM

You might need to more fully define 'arms'. Merely applying kinetic energy to a target might be the least powerful concept going forward.

George Rebane

scenes 105pm - I leave it at 'arms' in its most general and obscure definition so the state has the opportunity to use any Queen of Hearts definition of convenience and screw its citizens in the most divers and imaginative ways. There is no "merely" connected with this wording.

To get an idea, just look at the way the current amendment's "well regulated militia" has served the Left.

Bill Tozer

For some strange reason, been thinking about the Khmer Rouge. Disarmed the populace and massacred those who could read. Ones that read things and knew history, the history of Stalin and Mao. Killing fields.

The Khmer Rouge used children to hide behind. Children....children with guns with their young minds correctly indoctrinated. Disarmed the populace first, then used children to execute parents and those who knew what the Rouge was up to.

Been thinking about the Chinese in the Korean War. The Chinese led with floods of unarmed civilians, with the Red Chinese regulars hiding behind.and among.

There has been other examples in history. They always disarm the populace first and then control the populace, the nation, the country.

Always confiscate the guns, always hiding behind the children, the innocent, the unknowing, the fooled.

Don Bessee

So let it be written so let it be done!

The State Department will publish new rules this week that would require most visitors and immigrants to the U.S. to turn over their recent social media histories, carrying out one of President Trump’s key security enhancements from his extreme vetting executive order.
Travelers would also be asked to list previous phone numbers, email addresses and international travel during the previous five years, and to detail any immigration problems they’ve had, whether with the U.S. or elsewhere. They’ll also be asked about potential family connections to terrorism.

DB - 4:51 - The new rules are to obviously favor Norwegians. Not fair!

Don Bessee

Ah ha, now it becomes clearer -

But Rice isn't the only Obama alum benefiting here. David Plouffe, a former senior adviser to Obama, was hired by ridesharing company Uber in August 2014 to be its senior vice president of policy and strategy. This past January, Plouffe was lured away from Uber by Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg to help run his Chan Zuckerberg social advocacy organization.
Former White House press secretary Jay Carney has settled down at another titan, Amazon. Carney, who departed the West Wing in June 2014 and spent six months as a political analyst at CNN, joined Amazon in March 2015 as senior vice president for corporate affairs.

Can't let this one get by.

The best line in the whole story.
"This is good news for skeptics. It confirms what we’ve been saying all along: global warming is really just another attempted leftist takeover by the watermelons – green on the outside, red on the inside."

re: GeorgeR@2:00PM

Gotcha, it's an interesting way to go.

We could follow the British, and include things like plastic knives under the 'arms' category.

Bill Tozer

And staying on the Dems for a bit.....how about today’s quotes?

Upright: “To make a man a protector is to give him purpose. To deny him the means of protecting his family is to undercut that purpose.” —David French

The BIG Lie: “The first amendment has restrictions. The second amendment has no restrictions. These weapons are not in the hands of ‘well-regulated’ militias. The changes the people are demanding do not desecrate the second amendment, they just make it a safe addition to our constitution.” —Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student and anti-gun grandstander Cameron Kasky on Twitter

Braying Jennies: “[EPA Chief Scott] Pruitt … said in an interview published in The Daily Caller last week that he would no longer allow the agency to use studies that include nonpublic scientific data to develop rules to safeguard public health and prevent pollution. … Don’t be fooled by this talk of transparency. He and some conservative members of Congress are setting up a nonexistent problem in order to prevent the E.P.A. from using the best available science.” —former EPA officials Gina McCarthy and Janet McCabe

Race bait: “[Republicans] want to change [the census] to count the number of U.S. citizens so that they can engage in very not subtle voter suppression. That is illegal and that is totally inconsistent with what the North Star of the census in Republican and Democratic administrations have been.” —DNC Chairman Tom Perez

Belly laugh of the week: “If I were gonna [run for president], I’d do it because I think I would have concluded that maybe I could unify the country.” —former Attorney General Eric Holder

And last… “We need a Disney princess who teaches basic statistical literacy to feminist writers.” —Ben Shapiro

More from our friends from the Dark Side of The a Great Divide. Come and get ‘em.

Once watched a video of the Islamic Community marching down the streets in some Western European city protesting free speech. Signs and chants were for ending free speech and getting rid of the whole thing. No more free speech!

Well, I thought that was just a small band of crazy zealot misogynist rapists sucking dollars out of the safety net in Europe and it could never happen here. Free speech is a God given right that precedes government....a natural right, as is the right to protect and defend one’s self and country.

But, nooooo. I cannot recall one time that people took to the streets to protest and demand a Natural Law right bestowed upon us as human beings be rescinded/removed or handled over to the “necessary evil” of government.

All comparisons to MLK and the civil rights movement are an abomination to those who struggled for civil liberties. The teenie boppers want to take civil rights away. Don’t know about you, but calling 911 does not keep me safe nor protects me in the least. Too little too late. No law ever stopped a rape, but then again, no one ever raped a 38, capisce?
