[Time to revisit the national education scene with the just published critique Common Core by Nicholas Tampio (review here), and also enjoy the comedy of ‘Doomsday Climate Scenarios Are a Joke’ by Oren Cass (more here). Of course we can also re-circle the Trump and Stormy imbroglio a few more times. gjr]
"He does not really sound like a RINO."
I won't say that, but he sure doesn't sound like most Democrats I've heard lately...and he aint' feeling the Bern.
He's against any new gun restrictions. Supports the new proposed tariffs (is that an R or D position?). Opposes abortion but goes with the Supreme Court decisions, ie. he doesn't have an opinion. Supports tax cuts for the middle class and is against any new deficit. Appears to be somewhat neutral on healthcare (will work with anybody blah blah blah).
This is per CNN.
Honestly, this just looks like someone who let the polls choose their philosophy. He is better looking than his opponent though.

So the media and the democrats think one win in a special election for Congress is the blueprint and a wave? I think it is four wins one loss so far. And this 650 vote margin in Penn18 could be changed through a recount. But mostly I saw a democrat go conservative to win the seat. When Lamb gets to the House what are the odds he will renounce his support for guns, anti-abortion and all those other Republican positions? I bet 100%.
Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 15 March 2018 at 09:56 AM
It looks like you boys are drinking the same Kool Aid as Trump--not his fault. The Democrats will continue to do well as long as Trump is convinced he's not a big part of the problem.

So Todd, a loss in a district that Trump won by 20% is no big deal? Am I reading you right Todd?
Posted by: Paul Emery | 15 March 2018 at 10:57 AM
All politics is local as your hero Tip O'Neil stated many times. The Unions went for Lamb and Saccone was a low energy candidate. So to me this is no big deal.
Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 15 March 2018 at 11:01 AM
Identity Politics insanity? Nah, politics trump race and gender.
So why would progressives pillory a woman like Rachel Dolezal who insists biology doesn’t matter and pillory a student like Lake Ingle who insists it does? Because some identity politics are “more equal” than others. Identity politics that advance the progressive agenda are embraced, and those that threaten it are vilified.

So there's no problem that midterms usually are losers for the party in power and the polls are dismal for the repubs compared to previous midterms where they were strong.
Comparisons are here

They voted Trump. Funny thing.. Lamb pretty much ran as a Repub.
You DO understand that,,, right Paul?

re: Fish@10:51AM
The interesting thing now (and for a while now) will be watching the Europeans amp up their police state in order to deal with the magic of diversity. It won't be just anti-knife (or spoon in the case of the UK) laws, but truly awesome anti-free speech enforcement, surveillance, and just a general control of the population. The Swedish, of course, are the miner's canary here with their vibrant imported rape culture, but the interesting thing will be the response. Rather than reducing 3rd world mass immigration, you'll see moar and more top-down controls of an increasingly ill-behaved population.

re: Walt@11:54AM
It's probably easiest to just admit that Paul's party won the race and get on with life. The guy ran as a sort of Republican-lite, the Republican candidate wasn't as good, midterms usually equal a pull away from the sitting President. It only matters in that party discipline means that that Lamb dude will vote harder Left than he ran as a candidate. It's all good.
When you fight with the Pauls of the world you both get dirty, but Paul likes it.

I think only twice did midterms not switch parties or losses and one was Bush 2002. So if this midterm does cause losses for the R's it would be standard operating procedure and no big deal. Is that what you are admitting Paul Emery?

Jonathan Turley, a George Washington University Law School professor, said it's strange that top FBI official Andrew McCabe appears to be "worried more about pensions than prison."
Fox News has learned that the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility made the recommendation to terminate McCabe. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is reviewing that recommendation and if he approves it by Friday at 5 p.m. EDT, McCabe would not receive his pension benefits.

Aw shucks scenes, why go and inject truth into the conversation @ 853?? It confuses the trolls. Give him a 4th star and give him say NATO. He is a tanker and great tactician as well as a good historian. Those qualities are sorely needed in NATO right now. His 64 easting cred and books will make the EU snowflakes listen as the ascendant Bear is clawing at the door. A door that was partially opened by team 0 laying out the red carpet and acting as door man for vlad. (play open mike with Medvedev moment)

"... 2500 lies or misstatements and counting ..." The critical reader will recall that the same dataset can form the basis for many sets of information, not only in their combination, but more importantly in their interpretation (of the underlying processes that generated the data). To call someone for lying or misstating without citing a substantive reason why two information sets are disparate is usually the product of ignorance or a cynical agenda.
Today the lamestream and their local echo chambers are executing (suffering from?) the Trump Derangement Syndrome, dedicated to upending his administration, so that everything disagreeable to them that the president says is labeled a lie, and so publicized.
