Known as the Viacrucis Migrante 2018, the caravan began on March 25 in the state of Chiapas and is expected to reach Tijuana within a month where the members of the group are expected to request refugee status from the U.S. government. The caravan is organized by the immigrant rights group Pueblo Sin Fronteras who have been posting updates about the caravan’s journey through Mexico.

Talk about a buzz kill -
"These chemicals are called cannabinoids because they act on the same brain cell receptors as the main active ingredient in marijuana," IDPH explained, warning that the drug's impact can be life-threatening. "Synthetic cannabinoid products are unsafe. It is difficult to know what’s in them or what your reaction to them will be."
Users have reported a wide range of symptoms, from bleeding gums and bloody noses to blood in the urine. Women who are menstruating have also experienced a higher than average flow. Bleeding from the eyes and ears is also possible after use, IDPH said.

Well - first of all - Tax payer money should pay for kids braying for left wing horse shit. That's what public education is about, right?
If kids from the 4th grade want to walk out for anti-abortion protests the Union publisher will hail them as 'brave' and support them, right?
The brave and forthright publisher is now hiding under his bed so he won't have to answer the question.
It's not so much anti-gun, it's anti democratic and anti-American.
Maybe the publisher should go to China or Russia and peddle his wares.

Darn it, now you've done it. I'm really fascinated by this piece of political theater and have been looking into it for a bit now. You can't help but wonder if Mexico is pulling a Libya (at least Libya after Her Nibs had it's head of state murdered via a broomstick up the jacksie) in terms of ceasing it's duty as a cork in the bottle.
It might all fizzle out or it might be a crux point in the future of the West. If they do make it to the border, expect lots of anti-Trump Green Libertarian hullaballoo about saving these poor people just this once. Given the impotence of the West in dealing with border security, an ever increasing drama.
Shades of what the Spanish have to deal with.

Meanwhile behind the scenes.....
Gutless Sessions May not be so gutless nor worthless.
1) Sessions got pissed offf at the foot dragging at the FBI releasing infor and ordered the FBI to get it in gear. Double the agents, work two shifts, and get those requests to investigators out now. No more slow walking the investigations into Comey”s lies under oath among others.
2). Sessions never said he favored a 2nd Special Counsel investigating the Clinton corruption, from e-mail gate to the Foundation , thank goodness. That would just reset the clock. Sessions did order a federal prosecutor to check it out.
3) Sessions has ordered a federal prosecutor to check in the FISA abuses. Once the IG report is completed, the procesution begins.
4). CHECK THIS OUT: A Federal judge has reopened the Michael Flynn case. Odd, very odd. Flynn plead quilty, done deal, right? Cases closed, right? No. The judge is looking at the case and has ordered the FBI to turn over all evidence that the procesution had withheld from the court or used concerning investigating General Flynn. All of it. Guess it ain’t over afterall. Now, why would a judge be doing this?
Maybe Sessions is not the worse pick of the Trump Administration afterall. Who needs Special Proscutors when you can assign Federal prosecutors to look into leaks, Hillary’s extreme carelessness, the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation....
If weaponizing the DOJ and FBI don’t get ya, if giving conflicting accounts to Congress won’t get ya, leaking to the press will get you a one way ticket to The Big House, aka, The Slammer. Kinda like the ole perjury trap.

On March 31st it became;
noun: any of various intermediate-range, magazine-fed military rifles (such as the AK-47) that can be set for automatic or semiautomatic fire; also : a rifle that resembles a military assault rifle but is designed to allow only semiautomatic fire

Of course, I would hope that scientists would stay out of public policy.

Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 01 April 2018 at 01:59 PM
Walt@10:04 AM In many cases for the need for secrecy is the desire to hide the data used in the study. When the data and the analysis software is made public, another scientist can repeat the analysis and in many cases come up with a different answer. That was true of Michael Mann's Global Warming Hockey Stick. Mann's code produced a hockey stick regardless of the data provided according to Steve McIntire and Ross McKitrick in a detailed analysis.
When the science is done with public research money, the research result belongs to the people who paid for the research the taxpayers, therefore no secret research allowed.

Amazing that Trump is using the easter egg roll to brag about how great the economy is despite this alarming bit of news about the stock market-worst 1st quarter since 1929
"If you feel like the second quarter has begun badly, you’d be right.
U.S. stocks are on track to have their worst April start since 1929, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The S&P 500 index slumped 2.4 percent as of 1:10 p.m. in New York, a rout exceeded only by its 2.5 percent decline 89 years ago, a prelude to the devastating crash later that year that brought on the Great Depression. (Back then, the index only comprised 90 stocks.)

Hey Bessee, is this a good entry point for the Trump stock market, or should I wait until after the dear leader's next market-crushing outburst?
Remember that terrific trade deal Trump beat out of the Koreans, the one that will let us export 50,000 cars a year to Korea? Well, the current quota is 25,000, and we export about 10,000 cars--apparently, they don't like our cars.
No wonder the Koreans think they got off easy.

Not for you @ 150, the DOW was around 18k when you bailed out. I have not heard about a bunch of dividend stocks suspending them, has anyone? Boardman, you sound a lot like the guy who wants to make a new bet after every round of a championship fight.
As to the cars, S.K. gave us a cap of cars that had our safety standards, it went from 10 to 50k. They have poison pill local safety items that are just barriers. SO yes, a 5 fold increase in access is a good thing. That and the other balancing.
Since we are in the sand box how about this hot stinky one- Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's criminal paki tech staffer Awan, who looks a lot like a paki spy, was given a background check waiver by all 44 Dems who hired them!

Here's a nice story.
https://spectator.org/california-commits-massive-medicaid-fraud/
"California is indeed the Golden State where Medicaid is concerned. The HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) has found that, by exploiting Obamacare’s expansion of the program, California has enrolled hundreds of thousands of ineligible adults in Medicaid. Consequently, the state has bilked the federal government out of more than $1 billion in funding to which the state was not entitled. Indeed, these figures probably understate the amount of money that California officials have fraudulently extracted from the taxpayers. The OIG sampled a mere six-month period, from October 1, 2014 through March 31, 2015, to arrive at its damning assessment."

Daily Quotes:
For the record: “As a factual matter, a shoddy cover-up of an extramarital tryst with a porn star a decade before Donald Trump became president would be a trifle compared to the oft-repeated but never established claim of Trump collusion with Russia. As a legal matter, though, when highly aggressive prosecutors are circling, any kind of something is always more perilous than nothing.” —Andrew McCarthy
The BIG Lie: “I favor changing the Second Amendment. Yeah, repeal it. … You know who started the Second Amendment? It was southern senators so they could ward off slave uprisings.” —Larry King
Non Compos Mentis: “My armed guards aren’t killing children and don’t have semi automatic weapons.” —"comedian" Chelsea Handler
Victimitis: “I was really struck by how people said that to me — you know, mostly people in the press, for whatever reason — like, ‘Oh, you know, go away, go away.’ … They never said that to any man who was not elected. I was kind of struck by that.” —Hillary Clinton
Braying Jenny: “As I watched the first two episodes of the ‘Roseanne’ reboot, I thought again about accountability. I laughed, yes, and enjoyed seeing the Conner family back on my screen. My first reaction was that the show was excellent. But I could not set aside what I know of Roseanne Barr and how toxic and dangerous her current public persona is. … This fictional family, and the show’s very real creator, are further normalizing Trump and his warped, harmful political ideologies.” —New York Times’ Roxane Gay
And last… “[Laura] Ingraham’s original tweet was so incredibly innocuous that I don’t believe any single human in the country was actually hurt or offended by it. This is all a charade. A game. We shouldn’t play it. I disagree with Ingraham’s comments, I think they were dumb and unnecessary, but if you claim the response is AT ALL proportional to the offense, that only shows you are a disingenuous opportunist.” —Matt Walsh

Scenes is correct: The Dow closed at 19,827 on inauguration day. The source I consulted presented the numbers in a confusing manner. Still, I own the error.
We'll see where the market stands a year from now if Trump insists on pressing his ill-conceived trade war. The only guaranteed outcome is that American consumers will pay higher prices and people will lose their jobs.

Here is your progressive socialism in practice in the peoples republic of Seattle -
https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/enough-is-enough-some-local-homeowners-say-this-years-property-tax-increase-will-force-them-to-move
Didn't they loose a bunch of money on the gun tax for a study or was that some other utopia??
There was a digitally premastered, unedited Soylent Green on this weekend. So why did those socialist folks turn SF, LA, NY and so on and so on into that dystopian future?
If I am not mistaken, don't the drug dealing MS-13 team 0 flooded us with work with Asian fentanyl producers to effectively eat people for profit? Lets not mention the damages to the national workforce that even grandpa moon beam acknowledges!
Ain't gonna stop sayin'! ;-)

Seattle is a mess. I was there in October and their homeless issues are huge. They have a dispensary on every block and a coffee kiosk too. And the gals making that coffee are naked! Their Mayor was forced out when I was there as he was boinking his nephew. What a place.

Boredman...
The market was 17,888 for the week before the election.,, a 1000 point bounce after the election. The nearly 27000 peak in late January was irrational exuberance. There might be more to a correction, don't celebrate too hard if it keeps going down for awhile.
Maybe next time stop and think before you post what seems like good news to you, which you perceive to be bad news for Trump and the country.

When was the last time you heard someone say "gal?" While passing out at midnight with a bottle of Jim and watching Mr.Ed re-runs?
Todd is so friggin' out of touch with reality. I almost tossed my coffee when Todd said Heidi Hall was a "handsome gal." I thought he was speaking tongue in cheek, but no, turns out he truly is that much of a hick.

Paul Emery, I was told that by my guide you idiot. And I don't need to discuss my prowess or my anatomy. I am a legend in the county. You not so much except for your age group, over 70.
JonSmith/linda, yes I am a native Nevada County man. And I know a lot of gals. I know you metrosexuals can't hack the country people and I just don't understand why you moved here. All that latte' drinking and clam chowder on the docks and all. But hey, my life is great, yours is a mess and if I had empathy I would feel sad for you.

From the above, I take it that 'gal' is now off the PC list of words that can be used to refer to human females. Is that correct? And if so, does anyone know the purported reason for the ban?

You can tell when a metrosexual like jon/linda has his testicles put in a lockbox by his mate. Sad. Gal, babe, broad, dame, all excellent words.

Making America Great Again by attacking one of America's great success stories simply because he is intimidated by a funny looking bald guy. Trump exudes insecurity from every orifice.

Oh, I thought your were talking about our teens who dropped eating Tidepods for snorting condoms. Those silly happy go lucky 18 year old teenagers won’t be smiling much longer as they enter college and forced to eat and snort guilt, lol.

Ca. even thinks it can tell the FEDS what it can do with FED lands.

“While Pruitt did not specifically address California during Tuesday’s announcement, the administrator noted in a statement released Monday that the EPA would be reexamining California’s waiver and that “[c]ooperative federalism doesn’t mean that one state can dictate standards for the rest of the country.”
Well, there are Federal standards. CA decided to exceed those standards. No biggie. The new cars will be built and sold, but not In CA. Again, no biggie.

Walt, you might like this. Not the pic, but Derek’s rant...with reason and even a touch of humor. He articulated what I think, how I feel. I have no problem with protesting and assembling and speech. Never one to oppose that, albeit I will ridicule stupid signs and burning dumpsters..... but I really hate control freaks. I really do hate control freaks from every walk of life.

1) That’s My Gal’s Best Friend Foverever, Scary Debbie whatzername Shultz. Update:
This week The Daily Caller reported, “Every one of the 44 House Democrats who hired Pakistan-born IT aides who later allegedly made ‘unauthorized access’ to congressional data appears to have chosen to exempt them from background checks, according to congressional documents.”
https://patriotpost.us/articles/55112-background-checks-take-a-back-seat-with-dem-it-aides
2) Backlash Against Sinclair Broadcasting...with video. How cool.
That’s innocuous enough … until you watch the compilation, which is meant to make this sound like it’s a sinister propaganda effort. But “this happens across the country all the time,” notes Erick Erickson. “It’s only a big deal now because Sinclair is calling out the rest of the media so the rest of the media is responding.” And boy are they responding. “Expertly creepy,” “frightening,” “chilling,” “this should freak you out,” “propaganda” — those are just some of the criticisms leveled by Leftmedia talkingheads, uniformly and without a corporate script.
Who’s guilty of groupthink again?
It’s fair to argue that Sinclair’s effort is pro-Trump bias coming from local news. But the phony outrage is being driven by the Democrat/MSM Propaganda Machine, which so vastly outweighs local media in terms of coverage and influence it’s laughable. These leftist propaganda mouthpieces are throwing stones from a glass house.

"Making America Great Again by attacking one of America's great success stories simply because he is intimidated by a funny looking bald guy. Trump exudes insecurity from every orifice."
Weak sauce. I don't think that the angry old white guys have much of a bone to pick with Bezos one way or the other.
Personally, I'd amp up the anti-trust division of the DOJ to a far higher degree than it is, it strikes me as one of the few bona fide activist uses of the federal government, but Amazon really isn't there yet.
In any case, you can do better than that at trying to start an argument. I just know it.

re: BillT@11:53AM
I'd say that the main point of the Sinclair situation was to produce a pointed message to the talking heads and writing staff, not to the public at large. It was a bit of knee-bending to remind them they aren't a branch of the DNC. Dunno how much writing control comes down from on high, but network TV/radio stations certainly could stand to do a bit more news and a bit less personal editorializing.

Paul- That is uncalled for. Todd can only work with what he was born with. And without. Can Trumpets shop at Amazon any more, or is it strictly Dollar General and Win Dixie?? Speaking of Trumpets, love the fact that we won the war in Syria. Does Putin know that?
