Good last post of yours from Sandbox 5/10/2018. If makes me wonder if our local Lefties have any idea where their party is taking them. The R’s have divisions, but the split on the Left is deeper and wider, being ripped asunder.
We are all isolated up here in the historic Leave it to Beaver Gold Country. I wonder if the Lefties have a clue what our State and country will look like in 15 years if they are left to their own devices, unchecked. A trip to the urban centers is a foretaste of what is to come.
My guess is they just don’t see it or choose not to believe the handwriting on the Wall. There is a reason many that moved up here (from both sides of the aisle) are here simply because of what used to be known as “white flight”. Escapees. Escapees from crime, congestion, and rot.

Trump wants to double shipping costs for Amazon, even though the USPS says it is Amazon that keeps the USPS afloat.
Bill Gates had to sit Trump down TWICE to tell him the difference between HIV and HPV and Trump STILL claims they are the same thing!
Campbell's soup company is frantic because the cost of cans doubled after Trump announced steel and aluminum tariffs..
Brief glimpses why so many of Trump's endeavors failed. In a nutshell, he doesn't do his homework nor will he listen to advice.
Posted by: jon smith | 19 May 2018 at 08:33 AM
JonnieBoy, please stop the propaganda. America is cooking right along. The lowest unemployment rate in my lifetime and now we see all those millions getting pay raises bonuses. You liberals are the biggest sourpuss pussys I have ever seen. And if a tariff is tacked on a Cambell soup can of 25% it is unlikely the cost is doubled. Your math skills suck. These tariffs are a bargaining tool and it seems to be working. Amazon needs to pay the full freight on postage and stop being subsidized by the poor of America.
Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 19 May 2018 at 08:55 AM
No biggy "jon",, Proggys like you love to drive up the cost of anything and everything. You didn't bitch once with the cost of health care when "O" was around.

re: [email protected]:55AM
From an article quoting some Campbell's execs:
'Anthony DiSilvestro, the chief financial officer at Campbell, said a lot of the company's rising costs will be "driven by the impact of anticipated tariffs."
"We expect double-digit increases on steel and aluminum," said DiSilvestro, adding that the company anticipates inflation to drive prices for wheat and vegetables and other goods as well.'
Maybe 'double digit' means the same as 'doubling'
This is from the Commerce Secretary:
"In a can of Campbell's Soup, there are about 2.6 pennies worth of steel. So if that goes up by 25 percent, that's about six-tenths of 1 cent on the price on a can of Campbell's soup,"
I wouldn't blame Mr. Jon. He probably just scans the Dailykos every morning and they are the ones who got it wrong. Most 'news' sites on the web just quote some original and fairly sketchy source, so the BS propagates pretty quickly.

USPS, aka, snail mail announced another 550 million dollar loss...for just the first quarter of this year already!
The post office is losing a fortune, but Trump is wrong to blame Amazon. The Postal Service reported a net loss of $2.7 billion for 2017. It has lost $65.1 billion since 2007. Much of the red ink is attributed to a 2006 law mandating that USPS pre-fund future retirees' health benefits.

Amazon reacts to Seattle’s head tax:
“We are disappointed by today’s city council decision to introduce a tax on jobs. While we have resumed construction planning for Block 18, we remain very apprehensive about the future created by the council’s hostile approach and rhetoric toward larger businesses, which forces us to question our growth here. City of Seattle revenues have grown dramatically from $2.8 billion in 2010 to $4.2 billion in 2017, and they will be even higher in 2018. This revenue increase far outpaces the Seattle population increase over the same time period. The city does not have a revenue problem — it has a spending efficiency problem. We are highly uncertain whether the city council’s anti-business positions or its spending inefficiency will change for the better.”
Starbucks reacts to Seattle’s head tax.
“This City continues to spend without reforming and fail without accountability, while ignoring the plight of hundreds of children sleeping outside. If they cannot provide a warm meal and safe bed to a five year-old child, no one believes they will be able to make housing affordable or address opiate addiction. This City pays more attention to the desires of the owners of illegally parked RVs than families seeking emergency shelter.”

Lol. Worth repeating: “ if they cannot provide a warm meal and safe bed to a five year-old child, no one believes they will be able to make housing affordable or address opiate addiction.”
Reminds me of the time Steve Jobs was approached by the city to build a community rec center. Jobs, the biggest tax payer to Cupertino, replied that is why I pay you taxes. If you want a community center, you build it.
Related:
When Steve Jobs appeared before the city of Cupertino to pitch Apple's new HQ, one particular exchange with the city council caught our attention.
Councilwoman Kris Wang asked, "Do we get free wifi or something like that?"
The audience laughed at her question, and Jobs responded with, "See, I'm a simpleton, and I've always had this view that we pay taxes and the city should do those things. That's why we pay taxes. Now, if we can get out of paying taxes, I'll be glad to put up wifi."
She then joked that maybe the city could use its tax revenue to buy everyone an iPad, and then Apple would give them free wifi.
Jobs then hinted that maybe he should just take Apple to Mountain View if she was unhappy.

Where is Obama? One would think that Obama would clear up some questions for us all since he presided over the Deep State at the time of the biggest scandal in our nation’s history.
“Think of the 2016 Trump-Russia narrative as two parallel strands—one politics, one law enforcement. The political side involves the actions of Fusion GPS, the Hillary Clinton campaign and Obama officials—all of whom were focused on destroying Donald Trump. The law-enforcement strand involves the FBI—and what methods and evidence it used in its Trump investigation. At some point these strands intersected—and one crucial question is how early that happened.” WSJ

Posted by: George Boardman | 19 May 2018 at 07:16 PM
GB - 7:16 - just as China said maybe sometime in the future they might start to reduce their CO2 emissions after they will definitely first increase them. The American left thinks that's just the bee's knees. Unlike the awful Trump who called foul on the whole Paris Accord and said America will do what's in America's interest.
China just proudly announced landing long range bombers on their 'scientific discovery' island that they have no clear title to. Looks they do now. At least Trump is aware that China is a world threat and needs to be at least kept in some kind of check. Better than our last pres who made sure his hind end was available for whatever kind of buggering the other countries had a mind to. Obama's plan was to print money and hand it to the ChiComs.

April, April 2016 you say?
“.......a key if overlooked moment detailed in the House Intelligence Committee’s recent Russia report. In “late spring” of 2016, then-FBI Director James Comey briefed White House “National Security Council Principals” that the FBI had counterintelligence concerns about the Trump campaign. Carter Page was announced as a campaign adviser on March 21, and Paul Manafort joined the campaign March 29. The briefing likely referenced both men, since both had previously been on the radar of law enforcement. But here’s what matters: With this briefing, Mr. Comey officially notified senior political operators on Team Obama that the bureau had eyes on Donald Trump and Russia. Imagine what might be done in these partisan times with such explosive information.
And what do you know? Sometime in April, the law firm Perkins Coie (on behalf the Clinton campaign) hired Fusion GPS, and Fusion turned its attention to Trump-Russia connections. The job of any good swamp operator is to gin up a fatal October surprise for the opposition candidate. And what could be more devastating than to paint a picture of Trump-Russia collusion that would provoke a full-fledged FBI investigation?
We already know of at least one way Fusion went about that project, with wild success. It hired former British spy Christopher Steele to compile that infamous dossier. In July, Mr. Steele wrote a memo that leveled spectacular conspiracy theories against two particular Trump campaign members—Messrs. Manafort and Page. For an FBI that already had suspicions about the duo, those allegations might prove huge—right? That is, if the FBI were to ever see them. Though, lucky for Mrs. Clinton, July is when the Fusion team decided it was a matter of urgent national security for Mr. Steele to play off his credentials and to take this political opposition research to the FBI”
Well, well, well. The biggest difference between Hillary and Vladdy is when Putin rigs an election, he always wins it. At least we know it was Sally “Logan Act” Yates that signed the first warrant.

What's with your fixation on a volcano? BFD. We lost more homes and lives in 30 minutes in Sonoma than Hawaii has in 30 years because of volcanoes. Spend some time in Iceland, Argentina, South Pacific, or so many other active regions and a single spewer in Hawaii kind of gets put into perspective.
People who build their homes on the flank of an active volcano really don't get a lot of sympathy from me. Same with building in flood plains or avalanche paths. Yes, we live in an active earthquake and wildfire area. Looks like jonSmith may be Pelline. Pelline is the on;y one using the Aqua Velva line. He actually thought it up. So Jeff Pelline is little jonnie (accorsing to your wife). What a hoot! And a real porker to boot. No wonder so many mirrors break.
Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 20 May 2018 at 08:05 PM
Toddman,
I sincerely doubt "jon smith" is Pelline. He smells much more like Michael P. Anderson, if one takes him at his word that, for example, that he wrote a lot of html code in past days.
Plus, Pelline just is too much of a lightweight cheap trickster when it comes to rhetoric to hide his stripes for long. Pelline hates based on personalities, folks that don't love and adore him. Who show him up. That isn't "jon's" M.O.
Posted by: Gregory | 20 May 2018 at 08:19 PM
Gregory, you may be right but this smith character uses a lot of the Pelline lines about me. That may indicate a personality defect he carries through to his sock puppets.
Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 20 May 2018 at 08:51 PM
Todd-
"So Jeff Pelline is little jonnie (accorsing to your wife)."
This is exactly why, 4 to 1, you were repeatedly beaten down by the board and why you lost your second term and why three out of three wives saw through you and tossed you under the bus. Uneducated, smarmy, ignorant, and a narcissist who comes up with a "fact of the hour" based on . . . well, only you know. Ignorance is bliss. Enjoy your bliss.
Posted by: jon smith | 20 May 2018 at 09:43 PM
You are proving me right. Thanks jonnie, or I mean little jonnie (according to your wives). I had a 5-0 Board then a 4-1 then a 3-2 all on my wavelength . So your history is as wrong as you seem to always be. And who says I had three wives? Anyway, you are truly unhinged and a troll here but I do get a kick out of reading your fantasies. Of course, your wives don't think much of you or your solar panels. What a hoot!

Speaking of personal “attacks”, now the Democratic Socialists are eating their own. Oh my. This reads like a Who’s Who of Liberals and they are now banned.
According to Liddel, a long list of left-leaning professors and intellectuals are no longer welcome on campuses by leftist college students. The list includes feminist Germaine Greer, the head of anti-racist group Hope Not Hate Nick Lowles, gay activist Peter Thatchell, Cambridge professor Mary Beard, Iranian communist Maryam Namazie, feminist journalists Julie Bindel and Suzanne Moore, feminist comedian Kate Smurthwaite, and others.

On a related topic, I have been following the Vancouver (BC) woman who has dedicated her life to running the rape crisis hotline (for free and for years) in addition to starting and running a shelter for battered woman and rape victims. Dedicated her life to helping rape and domestic violence victims.
They have destroyed her and she is now a pariah....labeled as a racist at best and demonized across Canada coast to coast. The shelter for rape victims she has run for years is now not eligible for government or community grants. Her name is not to uttered ever again and she is worse than Hilter or Satan. Her crime? She did not want anyone with testicles to be allowed to be sheltered and showering with “born women” who have just been traumatized and raped by folks with testicles. Aka, trannies babies. Neither did she want men to “man” the rape crisis hotline as the victims made their first step crying out for for help. She even believes if you never menstruated, you really don’t know what it is like to be a woman. Gone from hero to zero.

The thing that's a bummer is that M/Covfefe/PaulE/Jon/the MIA BenE/ etc. never give a good shot at defending the craziness of their religion. I'd love a good spirited argument informing me why the Green Libertarian mass movement isn't insane. The Green L's appear to combine the high GINI scores of the Republicans with a toxic mix of white flagellants and POC identity politics.
Who knows, maybe something good will come out of all this someday.

Here is one for the po' ol' pollhead -
The data stretched across all age, income, and education groups. Americans between the ages of 30 and 49 years old were unmistakably more confident about their job prospects this spring compared to in the months leading up to the 2016 election. The survey found that between August-October of 2016 (47 percent) and March-April 2018 (66 percent), job market optimism grew by 19 percent amongst that age group.
The data is at the highest point ever recorded, since Gallup began asking respondents about job market optimism in August 2001.

As Twitchy told you Sunday, President Trump said he was demanding the Department of Justice “look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump campaign for political purposes” during the last months of the Obama administration. Shortly after that, Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein ordered the IG to investigate.

Say kids - here's something we can all agree on, right?
https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/transportation/12-million-a-mile-heres-how-bike-lane-costs-shot-sky-high-in-seattle/
Remember when the Northridge earthquake took out a lot of freeways in SoCal?
Who got the freeways up and running? Govt? No sir - it was good ol' private industry. They weren't concerned with what skin color all the workers were or what sex the workers identified with.
Now we have another (on top of dozens of other) failed projects from the govt that are late, over budget and/or non-existent.
Best line - "At present rates, the Seattle Department of Transportation says it might be able to afford only half the 50 miles of bike lanes promised in the Move Seattle levy approved by voters in 2015."
Who promised what? Just as in California with the HSR, it seems campaign promises don't have to be honored and even if they were, the persons doing the promising are long gone by the time the stuff hits the fan. If the local appliance store screwed the people like this there would be folks in jail and massive lawsuits. But if the govt lies and cheats the voters out of what they were promised, it's just major shrugs all around. BART, The Big Dig, HSR - and many, many more.
You want these folks to deliver your health care?
You aren't just some kind of stupid, you're insane.

Ya, let me have a stein of oriental roach IPA and a rodent wheat beer -
An inspector found more than 60 dead or alive German cockroaches Friday afternoon, roughly half of which were around the brewing equipment. An undisclosed number of dead Oriental cockroaches — darker, shinier and slightly larger than their German cousins — were also found on glue traps in the kitchen and both front and back brewing areas.
Oak Park Brewing Co. also had more than 100 mouse droppings along the walls of its back brewing area, 20 droppings both atop an open bulk bag of malt and on the bottom shelf of a prep sink, and 10 droppings atop the lid of a bulk container of masa, according to the health inspector's report.
Two dead rodents were found in a glue trap next to a door in the back brewing area. More than 20 weevils were also found inside the masa container.

Hunting Trump style: Gas wolf and bear dens, promote sport hunting over bait, and allow hunting from aircraft with night vision scopes. Sold under the guise of predator control.
Scratch an inch deeper, it allows shooting migrating caribou from speed boats, near unlimited means of taking moose, hunting of sheep during lambing season, etc. Predator control???
Only Trump's certified assholes will buy this as predator control. It is the new sporting ethic under Trump.

M
If the Feds had a sneaky suspicion that the Russians had infiltrated the Trump Campaign, it was months before the Austrialian Ambassador “overheard” the young George P saying that a Cambridge professor told him (and paid for his flight to London) that the Russians had Hillary’s missing 30,000 e-mails...or all the e-mails that got hacked from Hillary’s private server. You remember that private server, don’t ya. The one Obama said he knew nothing about until he read about it in the newspaper. You know that private server that Hillary and Obama were e-mailing to each other back and forth well before Obama told the whooper later than he just heard about it in press reports.
I find this whole leak thing as one big disinformation orchestrated CYA. They want us to focus on the mole. Funny, they started spying on the Trump Campaign well before the dossier. You remember that dossier, don’t ya? Months before that, they were spying on the Trump Campaign. Months. Just about the time they were scrambling to find all those missing e-mails. Maybe Trump had them? Big bad blackmail stuff, whoever has them. Like, nothing has been leaked as to what is in those missing e-mails. Nothing but bleach bot as soon as Hillary got a subpoena to produce them. Everybody thought Hillary would win and the whole shebang would just disappear. But nooooo. The Deplorables had other ideas.. Mark the tape!, ROFLMAO.
Nope, the last leak in the lamestream is a big fat CYA and throw us off the trail. They tried to coordinate the timing of the leak. You know that last leak.... leaked stuff that the FBI has stonewalled Dunes and Congress from seeing for over a year now because of “national security”and to safeguard the identity of the “paid informant” in Trump’s Campaign. The stuff about who started the original probe and why? Tried to time it so that when Dunes finally got to read it, it got leaked. Tried to pin the super duper top secret national security leak on Nunes, but, of course, that blew up in their faces. Oh, the best laid plans of mice and men.....
Nope, tried to do a pre-emptive CYA narrative with the talking points you just gave at us 6:27 pm before the IG report comes out. Guess they threw the mole under the bus to save their skins and throw us all off from looking higher up in the Administration than the FBI, for sure.
All I want to know is why they started poking around in April, 2016, about the time Hillary hired Fusion GPS. About the time that the highest ranking member of the NSA (the CIA’s Boss) and the top dogs (only) in Obama’s inner security/advisor circle started a probe. What started that off the books investigation? Wasn’t young wet behind the ears George the Greek or Page, for sure.
Debbie wants her laptop back bad and Obama and Hillary are wondering who has those damn e-mails. And why hasn’t Nunes been destroyed yet. Why, why, why?
It’s package too neatly. Lynch, Clapper, BRENNAN (the former registered Communist Party USA voter) Rice, and Obama.....Nunes is on the trail and on their tail and now the shitstorm is getting closer. The noose is tightening. The dominoes are starting to fall.....all things point above Lynch.
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/05/21/mark-penn-mueller-probe-deep-state-flailing/
M, you need to see the forest from the small frys. Mole, spy, plant, bug..whatever. It’s the timeline that matters. Who make the little snowball and started it rolling down the hill only to have it turn into a massive juggernaut that is knocking over the House that Barrack Built.

Check this spin out from CNN’s newest paid panel member and employee. This is hilarious!
Then Clapper made his outrageous statement: “So, if there was someone that was observing that sort of thing, that’s a good thing because the Russians pose a threat to the very basis of our political system.”
He continued, “And I think it’s hugely dangerous if someone like that is exposed, because the danger to that person, not to mention the reluctance of others to be informants for the FBI and the FBI gains a lot of valuable information from informants. So to me, this is incredible.”
Spoken by the guy who lied repeatedly to Congress and orchestrated many a leak to the NYT and Wa Compost, lol.
