[On 11 September 2001 radical Islam carried out its most devastating attack on those they identify as infidels and kafirs, their name for the rest of us on this globe. On this day of remembrance it is incumbent on us in the west to reflect on the state of Islam, and especially its quiet ongoing conquest of Europe, whose belated recognition of and opposition to what's happening is deemed racist by the Left. Lest we forget, Europe is just the warm-up, with the battle cry 'Death to America!', an Islamic America is their main objective. gjr]

This is a truly remarkable statement consistent with a Narcissist using lies to justify a desired opinion. Unbelievable. This is an example of why the Republicans are going to lose big by being connected with Trump.
“I think that Puerto Rico was an incredible unsung success,”
Schumer responde
"Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) on Tuesday slammed President Trump over his claim that the federal response to Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico last year was an "unsung success."
"This is an offensive, hurtful and blatantly false comment from the president," Schumer tweeted. "Nearly 3,000 of our fellow citizens died in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria. That is the complete opposite of ‘success.’"

PaulE 242pm - Considering that Puerto Rico is and always has been under corrupt governance and of a Caribbean cum Central American culture, their succumbing to the hurricane to the extent that they did was not surprising. And US aid was prompt, ample, and its use mostly mismanaged. That they recovered to the extent that they have is to me and most of us remarkable, Trump's "remarkable statement" withstanding.
That island territory has been blessed for a century by living literally in the arms of the most powerful and richest country ever, granted unlimited commerce and citizenship rights, and they have mostly blown it in their desire to practice the means and methods of their Central American brothers. Schumer continues to be the Democrats' current reigning champion liar and demagogue.

You forget PR is it's own nation? It pays no taxes, yet wants the U.S. to foot the bill. It one corrupt place. Now go an audit where all our tax dollars went.

"California man Farzad Fazeli was arrested Tuesday for allegedly trying to stab a congressional candidate at a fair on Sunday, police said.
Local media identified the candidate as Republican Rudy Peters, who is challenging Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell in November.
Peters survived serious injury thanks to a malfunctioning switchblade, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday. The attempted stabbing was preceded by Fazeli making “disparaging remarks” about the Republican Party, according to the sheriff’s office."

Oh please. The governor of Puerto Rico is to blame for over three thousand dead p[eople, not Trump. You idiots of the left are shameless. My goodness, Ray Nagin left hundreds of school buses to drown while humans actually did. And Blanco was a total idiot. She was paralyzed in fear. Bush and Brown jumped on Katrina and got things moving in spite of Paul Emery's pals in Louisiana.

What's PR's responsibility?
Oh... That's right. Paul is pro "leach". Just as long it the LIB leach.

So you just let Puerto Rico rot right Walt? I mean they say Puerto Rico was an "unsung success" with over 3000 casualties??? What was the "success" in what we did that |Trump is bragging about? They are American citizens. It is the second deadliest hurricane in American History.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 11 September 2018 at 04:46 PM
Well I would suggest that the PR Governor and his pals running the place drove it into the ground. They were something like 100 billion in debt and they can't print money. And their emergence services obviously sucked as they allowed their island to be destroyed. Their power grid was already very bad. And then Trump and FEMA come in and are now bringing the island into the 21st century and all you liberals assho*** can do is cry about Trump. If you only knew how many Americans despise you and your ilk.

See the next bill to the taxpayer spinning out in the Atlantic?
Who lives on the coast? Rich Liberals.

So Todd what was it that Trump did that was an "unsung success"? What you are saying is that the People of Puerto Rico deserved to suffer because they abused money and resources that we sent them. I think the majority of Americans re compassionate and kind, two attributes that Trump and his followers, including you, seem to lack.

We already gave the money for their grid a long time ago, and the PR power company, the lovely Governor, and the most lovely socialist mayor done plucked the feathers off that goose. Stole or “wasted” the money and the power was going out across the whole island for two week stretches at a time....multiple times...outages were part of living there.....before the hurricane.

In the emails, a Google executive describes efforts to pay for free rides for a certain sect of the population to the polls–a get-out-the-vote for Hispanic voters operation–and how these efforts were because she thought it would help Hillary Clinton win the general election in 2016. She also used the term “silent donation” to describe Google’s contribution to the effort to elect Clinton president.
The main email, headlined, “Election results and the Latino vote,” was sent on Nov. 9, 2016—the day after Clinton’s loss to Trump in the 2016 presidential election—by Eliana Murillo, Google’s Multicultural Marketing department head.

Step right up folks and get another dose of fossil fuel propaganda as the Heartland Institute presents rebuttals to Jerry Brown, the scientists at the Global Climate Action Summit and the vast majority of Americans who are concerned about climate change. Hear them tell you why the real scientists are all wrong and Heartland's cherry picked drivel from pre-determined results is really the truth.
"The Heartland Institute became a leading supporter of climate change denial. It rejects the scientific consensus on global warming, and says that policies to fight it would be damaging to the economy. They are heavily funded by corporations involved in the fossil fuel industry. Heartland Institute has been found to be false on occasion." --Media/bias fact check
"Despite criticizing climate scientists for being overconfident about their data, models and theories, the Heartland Institute proclaims a conspicuous confidence in single studies and grand interpretations....makes many bold assertions that are often questionable or misleading.... Many climate sceptics seem to review scientific data and studies not as scientists but as attorneys, magnifying doubts and treating incomplete explanations as falsehoods rather than signs of progress towards the truth. ... The Heartland Institute and its ilk are not trying to build a theory of anything. They have set the bar much lower, and are happy muddying the waters." -- Source Watch
On former Heartland President --"Mr. Joseph Bast, president and CEO of the Heartland Institute, testified for the Intervenors regarding the Texas Taxpayers’ Savings Grant Programs (“TTSGP”), a school voucher bill that failed in the 82nd Legislative Session. As a threshold matter, this Court finds that Mr. Bast is not a credible witness and that he did not offer reliable opinions in this matter. While Mr. Bast described himself as an economist, he holds neither undergraduate nor graduate degrees in economics, and the highest level of education he completed was high school. Mr. Bast testified that he is 100% committed to the long-term goal of getting government out of the business of educating its own voting citizens. Further, his use of inflammatory and irresponsible language regarding global warming, and his admission that the long term goal of his advocacy of vouchers is to dismantle the “socialist” public education system further undermine his credibility with this Court." - from a Texas court ruling
On the person named to replace Bast, former Kansas Rep. Tim Huelskamp: "Huelskamp's top donor is Koch Industries and he has received the highest lifetime campaign contributions from the Oil and Gas industry". -Open Secrets

Uh, Paul - we had an election. The Americans you refer to voted for Trump.
"Compassionate" - in this sense it means 'point at gun a some one else and make them hand over money to some one who I want to have the money so I can take the credit'.

WOW!! Now there is an extra criminal charge if the weapon is a semi-auto VS a revolver?
So if you plan on spitting lead, better use that wheel gun. Less charges.(?)
https://www.theunion.com/news/local-news/nevada-county-judge-orders-shooting-suspect-held-on-150k-in-bond/
"Joshua Crook, accused in the weekend shooting death of Jacob Halleib, now faces an additional charge of assault with a semi-automatic weapon, Nevada County court records show."
Authorities recovered a Glock semi-automatic pistol, which Jakobs said is likely the gun used in the shooting.
Now gross negligence is the charge. Now if his lawyer is smart, they could demand the word "negligence" be changed to "careless".
There is no law for gross carelessness. That's what the FBI said about Hillary.

Opps, butchered that one.
Look, people just started squatting on the land in PR. Thousands of them. The government let them do it all over the hills. They built little shacks that blew over in the hurricane. Hills washed down, mudslides. Like outside of Tijuana. Sheet metal forts.
So FEMA is there to help, but the peasants don’t own the land! No own the land, no money to rebuild your home. It’ would be like the homeless around here building some hobble out in the woods or up on the hills and then applying for loans for huts on property that is not theirs, but somebody else’s. .
We gave them food, tents, FEMA stuff, cash, and some Nike gear. How cool is that? What more do they want? San Juan has power, stores are open. The biggest pain was the harbors were destroyed and we couldn’t get big ships in there right away. Neglect by them.
By Jove, I got it! They done blew through all their FEMA money and want more. Typical.
Is Puerto Rico in the Northern Atlantic or out past Guam in the Pacific?

California women needed. No experience necessary. Great pay, work a few hours a year. Bring vagina, leave resume at home.
“According to The Wall Street Journal, “The [CA] law requires a company to appoint one woman to its board of directors by the end of 2019. By the end of 2021 a five-member board would need to have two women, while boards with six or more directors would need three.”
Noncompliance could result in a $100,000 fine, whether it be a failure to file adherence reports or neglecting to hire at least one token woman. That fine jumps to $300,000 for serial violators.

:Thanks for your feedback. We are neither interested in, nor have we, attacked Rep. McClintock. We felt the need to respond to mistruths that were spread over social media, an attack on our organization's well-proven ability to be unbiased."

Oh Punchy should quit while he is behind. K was stating what was the Priests for Life agrument when asked. He was saying what was their view. Go ahead fakenews freak, knock yourself out. Give it all you got. You won our respect by agreeing with Walt about the state’s rights and the Bundy Ranch standoff.
Let’s see what the Leftists have to say:
“Harris tweeted a clip in which Kavanaugh said, "Filling out the form would make them complicit in the provision of the abortion-inducing drugs that they were -- as a religious matter, objected to."
In Harris’ tweet, Kavanaugh appears to define contraception as abortion-inducing. But the video failed to include a crucial qualifier: "They said." In fact, he was citing the definition of the religious group Priests for Life. He has not expressed his personal view.
We rate this statement False.
https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2018/sep/10/kamala-harris/brett-kavanaugh-birth-control-abortion-inducing/
Yep, that is right up there with CBS news doctoring George Zimmerman’s 9/11 call, Hands Up, Don’t Shot ever happened, and the shoes Melanie wore to Harvey. You should see the shoes she will wear to Florence!
Yep, Harris did us all a favor. She just proved to the public what a lying manipulative lying sack of shit CA Dems are. But, she is in good company here in Hillary Country. Hillary rules in Hillary County in the foothills.

The writer of that op-ed you linked at 1012am wasn't a rightwing editor or journalist, it was the executive director of Priests for Life.
You need to retract your claims of what Kavanaugh said.

Even Fox News is appalled by Trumps bragging about Puerto Rico
"Fox News host Melissa Francis on Wednesday called out President Donald Trump after he boasted about the “great job” his administration did last year in responding to Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
Writing on Twitter Wednesday morning, the president said that his administration “did an unappreciated great job in Puerto Rico” despite having to deal with “an inaccessible island with very poor electricity and a totally incompetent Mayor of San Juan.”
Francis acknowledged that Puerto Rico’s infrastructure was in very poor shape at the time the hurricane hit, but she nonetheless questioned whether it was appropriate to brag about the government’s response to a tragedy that left thousands dead.
“To say it was a success, after everything that happened, sounds like kooky talk,” she said.

Now I see a comment by Frisch that just because he is endorsing McClintock's opponent he would not be unbiased as he set up the debate format and venue. Sure Frisch, we all know you are a #metoo suckup and a failed BK restaurant owner running a "non-profit" eco-group. Good luck in that grant life. What a idiot you really are.

The democrats running Puerto Rico let the country go "caveman" and Trump is trying to bring them into the 21st century. But if Trump cured cancer you liberal extremist haters would say he did not.

PR.
People died from lack of clean drinking water! Check this blue wave out. Cool. Makes Trump look bad, eh?
“The water was kept in an area that was pretty hard hit during the storm and could have used all the water they could have gotten," Begnaud said in a video report.
Nearly 3,000 deaths have been attributed to Hurricane Maria, making it the second-deadliest storm in the US. Many of the deaths were attributed to power failures and a lack of access to healthcare and clean water, according to a study from the George Washington University.
The Puerto Rican government initially linked just 64 deaths to Maria. The government withheld data behind its figures, prompting news organizations like CNN to take legal action.”
https://www.businessinsider.com/puerto-rico-water-bottle-fema-hurrican-maria-2018-9
PR: Before Maria, PR had started filing for the largest bankruptcy in US history. Half the homes there were built without permits. The PR turned a blind eye for the last 30 years of letting squatters build their shantytowns on others’ agriculture land. To remove the squatters (non permitted homes and hundreds of thousands of dwellings unknown to even local authorities) is not PR’s values. “That’s not who they are” 40% of PR residents live below poverty levels, unemployment about the same. Billions given, billions more in the works. It will just be a drop in the bucket. They need way more than 100 billion to fix what is wrong with them....before Maria. And the dirty little secret is now PR mayors and PR governments want to move the squatters off other people’s land and want the US taxpayer to pay for it. Can’t hurt to ask, lol.
But, what about all the illegal alien mothers with kids from Central America that we should pay for the ride? And we need way more Section 8 Housing for all those Muslims and Afghanistan Muslin immigrants...and people from Haiti. And Napal. And Congo. And Sudan. And South America. And Mexico. Guess we should put Americans first. Americans first, with legal aliens right behind.
“Generations of Puerto Rican governments never made serious efforts to enforce building codes to stop new illegal housing, current and former island officials said in interviews. Past administrations had little political or economic incentive to force people out of neighborhoods like Villa Hugo.

Trump now can control the weather? (DAMN he's good.)
"the Washington Post is trying to pin responsibility for this weather event on Donald Trump:
Yet when it comes to extreme weather, Mr. Trump is complicit. He plays down humans’ role in increasing the risks, and he continues to dismantle efforts to address those risks. It is hard to attribute any single weather event to climate change. But there is no reasonable doubt that humans are priming the Earth’s systems to produce disasters.
https://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/09/12/delingpole-hurricane-florence-another-thing-not-caused-by-climate-change/
And see who wants it to get worse?
For Al Gore, Alec Baldwin, Jane Goodall, Catherine McKenna, Dave Matthews, John Kerry, Tom Steyer and all the other celebrity alarmists attending the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco over the next couple of days, this hurricane is like manna from heaven: the worse it gets, the better it is for their scaremongering cause.
Florence is currently a Category 4 but the more optimistic delegates will be hoping it makes Category 5 in the next 24 hours. If they’re really lucky, it will fulfil the Washington Post‘s burning desire for winds so strong they merit an entirely new category:
Now if Trump can control the weather,, when will he unleash his power, and rid us of Frisco?
Posted by: Walt | 12 September 2018 at 12:34 PM
Oh, cut Paul some slack. He agreed with Walt about Bundy and he is busy getting ready for his White People From A Specific Region Festival, the largest money maker of the year for KVMR. And the folks in here parts have been busy as well, taking orders up all the ewes for the same weekend at the same place. Odd. Phones are ringing off the hook. Even odder, ewes only. Why buy when you can rent? The show must go on.
So, Greek is now a protectorate of the EU and Puerto Rico wants us to build them brand spanking new honeycomb housing. Pssst. PR. Be careful for what Punchy wishes for. Our record with those kind of grand plans are called “the projects” and we have been busy tearing them down for the last few years.
Now wait just a New York minute. Didn’t Tesla or some eccentric dude promise to install for free some super duper green machine that will be like 100% renewable and make PR look like Christmas in July?
Well, I ain’t no expert in humongous mean green light up an island machines, put it might be a good idea to fastened those solar panels down tight, considering those Tropical Storm and bad ass Hurricane winds. Heck, Maria even knocked over and tore up some concrete buildings. Guess those solar panels to be fastened to a structurally sound home. Good luck with that. Maybe start by putting all those power, phone, and cable lines underground, ya think?
Well, a real hurricane is coming, so gotta put PR on the back burner for now. Besides, some PR money got funneled off to pay for CA wildfires. USA! USA! USA!
Florence makes Mad Max seem calm, and not as scarey as Elizabeth Warren. Oh yeah, Florence appears more sane than Spartacluz, and less evil than Harris.

More from the Right for defining contraception as abortion
"If both of those methods have failed — if life finds a way around medical efforts, as it so often does, and conception has occurred — the pill ensures that the lining of the uterus is inhospitable for the fertilized egg, and implantation is prevented. That’s abortion."

BUSTED!
A video recorded by Google shortly after the 2016 presidential election reveals an atmosphere of panic and dismay amongst the tech giant’s leadership, coupled with a determination to thwart both the Trump agenda and the broader populist movement emerging around the globe.
The video is a full recording of Google’s first all-hands meeting following the 2016 election (these weekly meetings are known inside the company as “TGIF” or “Thank God It’s Friday” meetings). Sent to Breitbart News by an anonymous source, it features co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, VPs Kent Walker and Eileen Naughton, CFO Ruth Porat, and CEO Sundar Pichai. It can be watched in full above. It can and should be watched in full above in order to get the full context of the meeting and the statements made.

Unintended consequences to Trumps lying about Puerto Rico.
“Rep. Luis Gutierrez, a Democrat from Illinois who frequently criticizes the Trump administration over its Maria response, said he’s planning a visit to Florida this weekend after traveling to several small towns in Pennsylvania to organize Puerto Ricans.
“Let me just say to the president, he should understand there are going to be ‘electoral consequences,’” Gutierrez said in an appearance late Tuesday on MSNBC."
https://www.politico.com/story/2018/09/12/trump-tries-to-rewrite-history-on-maria-as-hurricane-florence-approaches-817801
Because hundreds of thousands of Puerto Ricans had to flee the island, because of what this government did and how it did not intervene. They now live in Florida, they now live in Pennsylvania, and, Mr. President, you should know they are registering to vote, they are mobilized, they are organizing.”

Back to PR, eh? Boy, he’s really flailing at the air. Might as well try and catch the wind. From Ice Queen Harris did us all a favor (indeed, by showing her true colors) to what conservatives think, to what Todd said, to what Walt thinks of some people fleeing a shithole called Puerto Rico. Mercy. Next it will be Hillary County is Blue! It’s Blue, it’s Blue!! Wonder how the police investigation is going into that sign that made him feel uncomfortable and threatened and saddened. Somebody agree with Punchy. He needs to be validated...bad.
Ok, nobody is going to rip birth control from the arms of the female workers at the Patch. Nor is anybody going to take away the women’s health care bennies in the employ of KVMR. They can have all the protected sex they want, all day and all night. No problem.
It’s just for those few employers who have valid religious objections to providing birth control and morning after pills and paying for abortions of ther valuable employees by government decree. Some object to the mandate, like the Benevolant Order of Little Nuns of the Crippled Children’s Orphanage.
Ah shucks, we all know the Lefties worship at the Alter of Iliberal Socialism no matter what church, synagogue, or temple they happen to belong to. It’s their god. Their holiest sacrament is abortion. Whether a girl is 13 or 50, the answer from on high is always abortion...and free birth control for all.
Fear not, the Lefties can have dozens of abortions each and eat birth control pills by the handful single everyday and screw like minks during their lunch breaks. Most employers will choose to cover some of costs for sexual intercours, a few will choose not to.
It’s just a matter of choice. Odd that the pro-choice crowd in Nevada City is freaking out over others’ choices. Oh, the dama queens have all turned into crisis junkies. Talk about having women’s issues, they have issues with conservative women. Those damn Pro-Lifers. They must be silenced strangled, and raped for such thoughts.

then - "...and it's consistent with what many Republicans believe."
Well - what many Catholic Republicans believe and also what many Democrat Catholics believe. BTW - how much is 'many'? 20? 50?
What actual percentage of Republicans believe this?
