pup 1035am - I wonder how 'climate change denial' caused their AF to lose $6B worth of jets.

Don Bessee

A good example of PC priorities ruining a good thing -

Was there a disturbance in the Force?

And then came The Last Jedi, and this is when it all came together –in a bad way.
Here we were, laying down our hard-earned money to take a trip into a galaxy far, far away and here was this hideous Kathleen Kennedy woman beating us over the head with her obnoxious feminist agenda, her even more obnoxious identity politics, her intolerable preaching and ham-handed, man-hating Woke-ness, and this movie sucks and, oh, well, that is just great, now they’ve killed off Luke and replaced him the cast of Dawson’s Creek 2.

Well, at least we still have Carrie Fish– Oh, no.

A movie focused on Han Solo seemed to come at exactly the right time. After all, who doesn’t love Han Solo? Who doesn’t want to see Solo? But then…

Oh, look, Solo has Feminist Woke-Droid and a pansexual Lando Calrissian with an unnatural affection for Feminist Woke-Droid and the guy playing Han Solo who is about four feet shorter than Han Solo and ker-splat, the impossible happens: a Star Wars movie flops.

You cannot trust the chi coms -

In a stinging op-ed for the New York Times last Thursday titled, “The Pope Doesn’t Understand China,” Cardinal Zen — the retired bishop of Hong Kong — said that the new deal, which concedes an unspecified role in the naming of bishops to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), will lead to the “annihilation” of the Church in China.
“Francis may have natural sympathy for Communists because for him, they are the persecuted,” Zen wrote. “He doesn’t know them as the persecutors they become once in power, like the Communists in China.”

Dougy didn't take issue with the trillion bucks "O" wizzed
away in that bill known as Krapulus.
Since when does the likes of "M"oron all of a sudden become fiscally sensitive? A LIB never met a buck it didn't want to spend.

Let's be clear the F-22 jets that were left behind in Florida were unflyable due to the lack of parts, this a logisics problem that was created during the Obama administration. Obama's cost savings gutted the logistic chain and the end result is the lack of spare parts. This loss is not a Trump problem it is an Obama problem.

Be afraid KKKEACHIE,, Look who has their OWN 2ND Amendment preservation group.
"Alan Korwin, author and consultant to Jews For the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO), slammed the media for declaring that President Trump was “victim blaming” when he said an armed presence at a synagogue in Pittsburgh could have made a difference after an anti-Semitic gunman made his way into a Saturday service and killed 11 worshippers."
I do believe I will send them a few bucks.

Don Bessee

Did he convert, no?

Left-wing billionaire Tom Steyer, who is Episcopalian, accused House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) of antisemitism on Sunday morning for criticizing him in a now-deleted tweet.
The tweet accused George Soros, Steyer, and Michael Bloomberg of trying to “buy our democracy.”

Don Bessee

Seems to be the trend now -

With 94 percent of ballots counted, Bolsonaro had 56 percent of the votes in the run-off election against left-wing hopeful Fernando Haddad of the Workers Party (PT), who had 44 percent, according to the electoral authority TSE.
"We cannot continue flirting with communism ... We are going to change the destiny of Brazil," Bolsonaro said in an acceptance address in which he vowed to carry out his campaign promises to stamp out corruption after years of leftist rule.

Let's be clear, the readiness of aircraft was severely effected by defense budget sequestration which was an outcome of the solution of the 2011 budget and debt ceiling crises precipitated by Republicans refusal to raise the debt ceiling. The deal reached was the Budget Control Act of 2011.

This led to cuts in the increase in defense spending and eventually reductions of readiness to our air fleet.

Don Bessee

That will surely scare the kiddies!

“Well, I— well, I’d like to be president,” she admitted, bursting into laughter and cackles.
“Look, I think, hopefully, when we have a Democrat in the Oval Office in January of 2021, there’s going to be so much work to be done.”

Clinton went on to tout her credentials to prove why she’s qualified to be president.
“The work would be work that I feel very well-prepared for, having been in the Senate for 8 years, having been a diplomat in the State Department. It’s just gonna be a lot of heavy lifting,” she said.
When pressed, she said, “I’m not even going to think about it until we get through this November 6th election about what’s going to happen after that.”

Don Bessee

Hey Russ, Frish agrees with you!

There goes my Ford costume and my second choice, the sexy Zoombie. Orange face is ok, black face not ok. I think I am getting the hang of it. I will grab a black robe, an empty pony keg, and hang a sign around my neck that says “I like beer.”

Thanks to eveyone who attended the Backwoods Jazz Revival concert held last Saturday at the Nevada Theatre. It was a near sellout with friends from near and far. Very fun reviving all the old songs from years gone by. The person who arranged for my band to play for the Queen of England in '83 was in attendance.

Todd Juvinall

Sorry I don't like Jazz. And having been a actor at the theater many years ago I know that "a near sellout" is not many people.

Don Bessee

Another try by the Clinton news network to blame the administration that backfired -

Todd Juvinall

Sarah Sanders just smacked down the fake news saps in the press room. Those "reporters" are unhinged!

Tell us again about how those wonderfully strict gun rule work.

The democrats are certainly violent talking people. I blame them for all these attacks.

Don Bessee

Bad, bad news for the donkeys -

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll released October 29 shows 40 percent of the black voters that were surveyed say they approve of President Trump’s job performance, while 58 percent disapprove.
Trump’s record high approval among black voters comes just days after Candace Owens introduced BLEXIT, “the black exit from the Democrat Party.”

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll released on Monday also showed that 50 percent of likely U.S. voters approve of the president’s job performance, while 49 percent disapprove.

Don Bessee

Troll narrative fails, again -

'"“This is nascent fascism. We always had a turnkey, totalitarian state — all we needed was an excuse, and all the institutions were in place to turn this into pure fascism,” Cromwell told Variety on Sunday night. “If we don’t stop [President Trump] now, then we will have a revolution for real. Then there will be blood in the streets.”

Cromwell later echoed his statement during his acceptance speech for one of the six Carney Awards given out that night.

“We’re living in very curious times, and something is coming up which is desperately important to this country and to this planet, and that is an election, in which hopefully in some measure we are going to take back our democracy,” Cromwell said. “We will have a government that represents us and not the donor class. We will cut through the corruption, [and] we won’t have to do what comes next, which is either a non-violent revolution or a violent one, because this has got to end.”'

Apparently the definition of 'fascism' is:

1) Attempting to enforce existing immigration law.
2) Grabbing pussy owned by women who like rich guys.

Oh ya sure, whatever you say UN -

As Breitbart News reported, the UN Refugee Agency is aiding the caravan of migrants, putting 45 UN workers on the ground with the group of Central Americans.
President Trump is expected to sign an executive order this week that will halt the caravan entering the U.S. on the legal grounds of national security.

Suppose it is all OUR fault. Afterall, I called Trump the Emperor God, you corrected me with God Emperor, and we jointly referred to the unmentionable one as GETUS. Sorta like Maddog. Is he called The Warrior Monk by his troops or is that The Monk Warrior? Either way, terms of endearment.

Childish, indeed. Insulting, indeed.
Just 30 seconds later, as Swisher asked:

"what do you think of Cory Booker... saying ‘kick them in the shins,’ essentially...” incorrectly recalling Eric Holder's recent comments.

Which Clinton quickly corrected:
“Well that was Eric Holder..."

Adding, rather extraordinarily,
"Yeah, I know they all look alike,” Clinton joked, triggering howls of laughter from the apparently mind-numbed audience.

Who thinks that's going to make the lamestream?

If not for double standards they would have none (editorial note, not a Kelly fan)-

Lester Holt, NBC Nightly News anchor, last week covered the story of outgoing fellow NBC-er Megyn Kelly talking about blackface and whiteface, the segment for which she was ultimately booted from her show.

In her segment, Kelly responded to her co-host saying “but what is racist?” regarding the idea of politically incorrect Halloween costumes. “Because you do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface on Halloween, or a black person who puts on whiteface on Halloween. When I was a kid that was okay as long as you were dressing up like a character.”

It was that evening when Lester Holt introduced an NBC report on the controversy.
Kelly mentioned both blackface and whiteface, equating the two, but Holt did not mention “whiteface.” Nevertheless, he is familiar with it, as the photo in this Tweet found by Mediaite shows.

According the FBI Tallahassee was a kleptocracy. But hey, those Hamilton tickets were only worth a grand apiece. Chump change for the Tallahassee crew.

Bill Tozer

@8:15 pm
Did Trump call him Andrew? That would be disrespecting the Mayor of crime infested Tallahassee. They must put something in the water down in Florida. Mercy. Gillum wants to turn no state tax Florida into CA. Mercy.

Todd Juvinall

Trump said the tickets were $1800 each! I watched Gillum debate Santis a week ago. He definitely is glib and has great comebacks. But he has never had a job other than a government.

Bill Tozer

On to Pittsburg. Ironically, two days before the shooting, the Pittsburg Public School Board banned having cops wearing guns on campus. Hmmm. Only 4 police officers were wounded trying to stop the Tree of Life Synagogue shooter.

The Left hates the answer to the problem of stopping mass slayings. The answer is armed folks. We have armed guards and security at every important place and protecting every important person and venue. But, no. The Left wants only the government to have guns to protect us little people. 4 wounded cops might have been uninjured and more lives saved it the shooter was met with lethal force earlier....before the cops arrived.

Is this the wave being hoped for?

,,,cue Kavanaugh and the Constitutional Crickets,,,

‘’’It was unclear what specific action his order would pursue, and Trump gave no other details.

Trump has ratcheted up his hard-line immigration stance one week before U.S. congressional elections, as the country grapples with race and national identity amid bursts of violence, including a series of bombs sent to top Democrats and other Trump critics as well as the deadliest attack on a synagogue in U.S. history.

Seeking to end so-called birthright citizenship outlined in the 14th Amendment would take direct aim at the Constitution and likely prompt immediately legal challenges and potential opposition in Congress.

Changing an amendment in the Constitution would require the support of two-thirds of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate and the backing of three-fourths of U.S. state legislatures at a constitutional convention.

But Trump said he has talked to his legal counsel and was advised he could enact the change on his own, contrary to the view of many constitutional experts.’’’

How goes the yard work?

Curious to know why bobsy cross had nothing to say about the 5 murdered in democrat controlled Chicago this weekend?

I mean sure for democratic controlled Chicago it was a slow weekend but still!

Bill Tozer

Birthright citizenship? Glad to see Trump raise the issue. The 14th Amendment was clearly written for the children of slaves . It barred birthright citizenship for children born here to foreign ambassadors and foreign diplomats serving their countries at posts here in the USA.
The 14th Amendment has never been interpreted by SCOTUS, nor has much legislation ever has been written concerning its application. It’s just a matter of somebody suing and having SCOTUS look at the intent and meaning.
Sweden, France, most all of Europe and a vast majority of the nation’s of the globe do not recognize birthright citizenship by foreigners, not to mention birthright citizenship of illegal aliens. Canada does, one of 34 countries in the world that have dual citizenship.

This is a smart issue for Trump to bring up. Tourist “birth hotels” have been an issue with Russians and Chinese flying in in LA, dropping a kid, and leaving after birth. Hospitals along are border are going broke as hordes of illegals cross over, pop out a child, paying zero money, then retreat back to Mexico...or staying. A child with dual citizenship can receive aid, lower college tuitions, and at 21 (18 in Canada), can sponsor their parents for a permit residency green card. A retirement benefit for the parents. A meal ticket and entry ticket.

The big issue is these vacation baby hotels for Chinese and Russians. While they may not be illegal, it is illegal to lie on a visa. Pregnant women are not allowed entry. Imagine thousands of Russians visiting here, giving birth to little Ivan’s, then fly back home. The baby becomes a US citizen and 18 years later thousands of Russians can vote in our elections, thus infererring and influencing our elections. Collusion! A Chinese child with dual citizenship and taken back to China after being popped out on the delivery table is eligible for private (non public ) schools in China, where as a millions of Chinese children without dual citizenship are not eligible, not to mention paying cheaper titution at UC Berekely than a forgeiner would pay.

Interesting issue. No amendment needed. Just an interpretation by SCOTUS. Interesting, but talking about it is “Hate Speech!”

“Consequently, if the president actually issues an executive order changing the birthright-citizenship policy, I doubt the sun will set before an injunction is issued. I am in favor of changing the current understanding of birthright citizenship, but I believe such a change must be done by statute to have any hope of surviving court-scrutiny . . . and even then, I give it less than a 50-50 chance.”

Bill Tozer

Opps, maybe pregnant foreign women are not barred from the US. However, lying on a visa is against our laws and can bar one entry for life.

“Birth tourism is the neighborhood's incognito economic engine — dozens of pregnant Chinese women visit these shopping centers each day, walking from nearby maternity facilities or transported by cars the hotel operators provide. There's OshKosh B'gosh, Babies R Us, Ibiya Family, mattress and crib stores, doctors, dentists and Chinese banks.
Life in America tempts from the strip malls. Among the baby stores, there are home loans on offer, car rentals to go see the homes, real estate agents to guide shoppers and immigration attorneys to handle paperwork.
Many mothers, like Tracy, consider staying. Her reasons have more to do with China's flaws than U.S. freedoms.
In Shanghai, she says, the buildings are tall and modern, but the rent is high. The skyline is beautiful, but the air isn't clean and the food isn't safe. The airport is architecturally impressive but inconvenient. The people speak her language, but they are always judging and comparing, evaluating the clothes she wears, the home and neighborhood she lives in, the school her children will attend. A life in America is a break from all of that.
"Here people are not so competitive, trying to wear better clothes and use better things," Tracy said. "I don't even have to wear makeup."

How does enforcing existing immigration laws give our president a "hard-line immigration stance"?

I don't live in Nevada City you pitiful stoop labor endorsing racist!

Keep brownie down eh dugsKKKi? To lazy to do your own yard work so lets import the third word huh?

Good heavens George. Do you honestly expect members of the Blue Mob to give you their theories on just what immigration law should be and how it should be enforced?

It's like asking for details on an ideal national healthcare system, you'll simply get uninformed handwaving about 'HOW IT IS IN DENMARK!'. Ideal gun laws consist of 'COMMON SENSE!' nonsense with no ideas that have any sense of technology or history. Abortion law arguments become post-menopause harridans screeching about their bodies with no thought given towards termination at 1 month or 8.5 months.

The Blue Mob is a mob, nothing more. It has an emotional sense of what it needs, but in the end it's just good for burning things.

Bill Tozer

Under the category, “Glad I don’t watch TV”: The Problem with Apu.

Sound thinking Diaper Man!

re: ***M***@9:21AM

Cool. A member of the Blue Mob speaks.

So, just exactly what should the immigration laws be? How many people should be allowed to immigrate to the US every year and how should they be picked? Should there be a limit at all?

It's hard to feel much outrage over a President who slightly ramps up enforcement of existing law, evidently you want new law.

After you educate us, you can have a few 1QT single servings of this.

Todd Juvinall

Trump may toss the 14th Amendment and not allow illegals to pop a kid here and make them a citizen. It was a post Civil War attempt to keep the south from not letting resident blacks from being a citizen.

George Rebane

re M 921am - Continuing evidence that the Left either promotes the 'inalienable right' of all people unhappy with their own country to come here illegally, or is just too intellectually handicapped to understand that the sovereignty of a nation-state begins with securing its borders. Of course, most of the Left would like to do away with America's sovereignty, because for them America is and has been the source of all the world's ills and evils.

And here is a man enjoying the 1st Amendment while selling them the rope with which they will hang us (him included).

George Boardman

The 14th amendment makes it real clear that you're a citizen if you are born in the U.S., and says nothing about the status of parents.

Will all of those originalists Republicans put on the Supreme Court uphold the 14th as written, or will they do some social engineering to accommodate our dear leader?

Bill Tozer the Dreg of Society

@9:55 am

Any mention of enforcing immigration law as written gets the predictable never disappointing knee jerk reaction from the Left. More consistent than the law of gravity.
While a few may utter they are not for open borders, they promote open borders unabashedly...without calling it open borders. Vehemently opposed to ending the migration lottery, chain migration, vetting, or anything that comprises admission to the US on meritorious considerations. Akin to merely mentioning voter fraud. The knee jerk emotional reaction to voter ID is somehow an assualt on life, liberty, and the rule of law. Must not go there, you will not go there, racist!

I see the bigger issue (Divide?) as the Right and Libertarians view conservatism as a philosophy while the Left (liberals) views progressivism as an ideology. Philosophy vs ideology is the crux of the problem here in spouting one’s worldview.

I have searched and searched in vain for a comment written by a Australian born Hong Kong journalist after Obama’s trip to Australia. Obama publicly dissed the PM on stage and in a speech... a speech to a school where the Australian government in advance strongly urged Obama to refrain to going to and not on the internary. After much handwringing by the journalists as why Obama would treat America’s best alley in the world with so much contempt, the journalist said it best:

To paraphrase, “If you disagree with Obama on politics, he is ok with that. If you disagree with Obama on ideology, he will hate you.”

We seem to disagree with the Left on ideology and they automatically hate us.

Bottomline: Is America an idea or an ideal (if you prefer) , or is America a nation?

Todd Juvinall

Sorry Boardman you will lose that one. The "intent" of the 14th was for former slaves not illegals. And the "intent" was to keep a child born to a illegal or a diplomat from getting instant citizenship. This is going to be a fun battle.

Todd Juvinall

Looks like the left and the democrats are really intent on beating Cruz in Texas. He is up five today.
Ted Cruz (R) • Incumbent $40,118,702
Beto O'Rourke (D) $69,099,704

Bill the Dreg of Society Tozer

Tom Steyer? On Sunday Trump tweeted that Tom Steyer is “stumbling lunatic.” The next day Steyer released his three minute FB ad proving Trump’s characterization, lol

Boardman. For one hundred years after the 14th Amendment was passed, not one person was granted birthright citizenship. One hundred years later, birthright citizenship suddenly was granted to the offspring of illegal aliens and tourists.
Glad that Trump has started a conversation on this issue. Never hurts to discuss it.
Bottomline: It does not matter what you, I, or TV pundits and panels think, The only opinion that matters what SCOTUS says. It would be nice to see Congress do it’s Constitutional mandates and pass laws instead of relinquishing it’s powers to the Executive Branch....something that has been going on for far too long.

George Rebane

re GeorgeB 1054am - I want to point out that the leftist in these and other outlets dealing in such questions never address the whole of any issue, only the part (many times misinterpreted) that bolsters the supportive narrative of their collectivist ideology. To use the 14th to justify anchor babies without addressing the original intent (as pointed out by several commenters above) is to enter into a fraudulent debate on the matter, either through ignorance (which I doubt in Mr Boardman's case) or through willful subterfuge seeking to influence the lightly read.

Paul Emery

The Pubbers are such whiners...Won't take responsibility for their own decisions.

Republican Senate candidate Martha McSally (R-AZ) complained in a recent interview that she is getting her “ass kicked” because she voted to repeal President Barack Obama’s health care reform law. Latest polls show her trailing by 6 in the Arizona Senate Race.

"McSally made the admission during a recent interview with conservative radio host Sean Hannity,
“Well, Sean, I did vote to repeal and replace Obamacare on that House bill — I’m getting my ass kicked for it right now because it’s being misconstrued by the Democrats,” she said. “They’re trying to, you know, invoke fear in people who have family members or loved ones with pre-existing conditions.”

McSally has repeatedly voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which is known as “Obamacare.”

George Rebane

PaulE 1133am - How is an explanatory retort to a political attack like that construed as 'whining'? What does 'to whine' mean in your lexicon?

Posted by: Paul Emery | 30 October 2018 at 11:33 AM

Pot meet Kettle......

Bill Tozer

Dr Rebane penned to Boardman:

“I want to point out that the leftist in these and other outlets dealing in such questions never address the whole of any issue, only the part (many times misinterpreted) that bolsters the supportive narrative of their collectivist ideology.”

Illegal immigration? Nothing to see here...just ask Cesar Chavez.

Anchor babies? Can’t say anchor babies. It’s insulting.... More on the 14th Amendment.

Paul Emery

Complaining about the repercussions of your own decisions is whining in my opinion.

Todd Juvinall

McSally will win. Sinema is being exposed for the commie she is.

George Rebane

PaulE 1210pm - I didn't see any complaining, only an honest and open explanation. And your expansion of characterizing all 'Pubbers' as whiners who don't take responsibility for their own decisions is way off the mark. McSally gave no indication that she was not responsible for her Ocare vote, or the Dems' political use of that vote. Such gratuitous mischaracterizations reduce/remove any credibility that you are anything save a dedicated dyed-in-wool progressive (i.e. forget the 'libertarian' claims).

Paul Emery

Simea is up by 6 in todays poll Todd.

Are you saying that the Republicans did not intend to repeal the pre existing conditions mandate when they tried to dump Obamacare? Do you support the mandate?

Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 30 October 2018 at 12:34 PM

I don’t know if Sinema is going to win but if she wants to she should shut up and read strictly from the script! Extemporaneous speaking is killing her!

Paul Emery

Killing her fish? She's up by 6. What do you estimate her support would be without her "Extemporaneous speaking"?

endless editorial writer G Boardman sez: "The 14th amendment makes it real clear that you're a citizen if you are born in the U.S., and says nothing about the status of parents."

I spent a little bit of time diving into the minutia of that, and it's not so clear. It's kind of an interesting bit of history and law to travel down.

...that's assuming that you bother to research anything before declaring it to the world of course. It's a privilege of age I guess to just blurt out any old thing.

It'll be an interesting Supreme Court case if it goes as expected: (Trump EO -> 9th Court ->Supreme Court)

As a practical matter, pregnancy tourism with the aim of US citizenship is gaming the law, but the Open Borders folks will do whatever it takes.

ToddJ: "McSally will win. Sinema is being exposed for the commie she is."

I would hope so. Even a diehard (D)would admit that Sinema is a piece of work.

Paul Emery

George, complaining that you're getting your “ass kicked” because of voting to repeal President Barack Obama’s health care reform law sure sounds like whining to me.

McSally vs. Sinema

Paul Emery

So glad you're paying attention to the RCP consensus polls. those are the same polls that show the Dems way up in the Congressionals and Trump way down on job approval. The polls you cite are very old, going back to early Oct. the latest show Sinema up by 6 and 3.

I was being a responsible concert promoter Fish. What would you have done? Polls never said Hillary was a shoe in Fish. RCP consensus had her up by 3. She won the popular vote by 2. Of course that's not the EC so it didn't matter. The polls were accurate though on the national numbers.

.....and you clearly thought she was a “shoe in” to win since you felt compelled to do your “Hillary is going to win” touchdown dance for Gregory!

re: 'Crickets'@1:27PM

Honestly, I don't know how well polls track actual results.

The interesting thing is that, in Arizona, a bonafide combat veteran can be basically heads-up with a fairly radical left-wing politician.

It isn't like the existing people saw the light and became socialists. Population replacement is a real thing. I can see the same thing happening in Texas with the influx of Californians and Mexican nationals.

The take-away is that if you want a government of your liking, you need to be careful about your borders.

BTW: What do you think immigration law should be? Be careful in answering, you don't want the rest of KVMR torching your car.
