Still doing the heavy lifting while away jeffty..... well done! Drinking plenty of free Tsing Tao I hope!

“How many people must die and homes destroyed before"-- morons like Todd admit it's CLIMATE CHANGE that is the cause of the conditions not some bullcrap claims about forest management (which is mostly a federal issue not California's) from the no-nothing liar trump. Birds of a feather.......

Make you a deal.....if you die and your house burns down I’ll consider it!

Bobby... Your snowflake Socilist just has to pay for her apartment.
Yes.. "Just pay for it".. Just like she said about free health care for all. Nevermind where the money will come from.
So she got her first dose of reality. (With many more to follow.)

And not AGW on the fires Jr.,,,, It's years of NO fires, and ECO bastard whining about cutting trees down. You somebitches wanted "wild and scenic" pretty in the river canyons,, you got it.
You wanted loggers out of the woods.. You got it... Now jump for joy. (or your car to outrun the next one.)
100 years of fire suppression has caught up.

Your town burns down? Thank an ECO bastard. (or string him up?)

Paul Emery

M and Robert

Take it easy on poor old Todd. He's very lonely for company these days and only has two or three contributors on this blog to support his so '70's mindset when Republicans ran wild in Nevada County. They Republican Party is an endangered species with long time members moving away to be closer to hospitals and family being replaced by Liberal typs attracted to our environment and culture .

He even has to resort to dating services for female companionship since Women have dumped the Repub party in record numbers. He's one of us-a living relic of times gone by. Just like pasties and gold mining all things have their season and Todds was long ago. NC didn't even vote for his hero stud and role model Trump in the last election. Even LaMalfa couldn't win in Todds home County so things are kinda rough for the ol' Todders.

Don Bessee

@1253 " He's one of us-a living relic of times gone by"

So the pony tail of ignorance admits he is a relic.

Posted by: Paul Emery | 10 November 2018 at 12:53 PM

That’s pretty funny Punch.....very reminiscent of Pork Linkerson (Pelline) lamenting the very demographic to which he himself belongs! When you planning to move closer to medical and other senior services you old codger?

And as far as who “gets more”....you or Todd......I’d wager that you haven’t been laid without money changing hands since the Kennedy administration!

Todd Juvinall

What a hoot! I think FISH is on the mark about Paul Emery. An old codger, way older than me and in pretty bad physical shape. Got some of those 70's diseases have you Paul? And of course the gals I date a super hot and like this guy. My hone is very busy. Paul's well, maybe a few hair covered old hippie gals with their tambourines? Maybe not. Anyway thanks for the boost of my fabulous lifestyle.

Robert Cross@ 11:31 AM

The National Interagency Fire Center has recorded the number of fires and acreage affected since 1985. This data show the number of fires trending down slightly, though the acreage burned had increased before leveling off over the last 20 years. The NWS tracks the number of days where conditions are conducive to wildfires when they issue red-flag warnings. It is little changed.

University of Washington Professor of Atmospheric Sciences Cliff Mass pointed out in a recent interview with the Daily Caller: Wildfire area could well be increasing because of previous fire suppression, mismanagement of our forests, and a huge influx of people into the west, lightning fires and providing lots of fuel for them.

University of Alabama-Huntsville’s Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Science John Christy says human mismanagement is the more important cause of the huge fires: If you don’t let the low-intensity fires burn, that fuel builds up year after year. Now once a fire gets going and it gets going enough, it has so much fuel that we can’t put it out. In that sense, you could say that fires today are more intense, but it’s because of human management practices, not because mother-nature has done something.

What is your evidence that anthropogenic climate change is causing more wildfires?

Human CO2 emission is not the temperature control knob for the climate's temperature.

George Rebane

Russ 202pm - good catch Russ. Yes, the feds’ and state’s forest mismanagement totally explains away the larger size of the wildfires. And, of course, the burning of people’s houses abets Agenda21. And as always, when people have a problem, government is guilty until proven innocent.

PS CO2 is also not the control knob for precipitation patterns in California.

Paul Emery

Blessings to you Todd for being who you are and bragging about your exploits with women like your hero Trump. You're the only one that needs to do that on this blog by the way.

You make me nostalgic for the old days when there were hundreds like you in our fair county.

Paul Emery

So you and Todd are both obsessed about sex. Is that some Conservative trend? Pretty rough with all the women bailing on the Republican party.

Paul Emery

Orange County goes Dem

California Democrat Harley Rouda Declares Victory Over Longtime Rep. Dana Rohrabacher

Paul,,,, spoken like one who's "git'n some" days are way beyond the rear view mirror.

You keep saying your not a LIB... Yet here you are, as the head cheerleader. Guess you could say I called that one,, the only thing "Libertarian" about you is "LIB". No a bit of "ertarian" to be found.

re: California and trees.

I honestly don't have a good answer for people living in a landscape that regularly wants to burn. I expect that the insurance companies will end up being the final arbiters on the whole deal.

You could certainly argue that PGE run their lines along highways rather than straight through the middle of inaccessible areas, but I don't know how much difference that would make on average.

Perhaps what is needed is simply a rethink on homes. Now that they've gone to roughly equalling something like a lifetime of earnings, they need to be treated with too much care.

re: Walt@3:12

"You keep saying you're not a LIB... Yet here you are, as the head cheerleader."

It's fun being Blue Mob Soul Brother #1. You throw a little line in the water and a dozen fish come to bite.

I can't see how California can avoid becoming more and more Blue over time, even the rural areas. Simple demographics is enough to explain it...middle class whites leave the state, foreign nationals pour in. People tend to vote the interests of their tribe. Also, simple political tribalism tells you that the Blue Mob like to be around others like themselves, Team Red in turn likes to live in groups. It's all good. When the Blue Mob starts burning down houses, you might think about keeping the tank in your car full.

I'm still waiting for the Blue Utopia to spring forth. You'd think that with a single party state, you could have free school, healthcare, and ponies.

Bill Tozer

Prices at the pump in CA. I almost postedt this link three weeks ago, but decided not to with other stuff going on.

Two takeaways. First, for every dollar spent at the pump, twenty cents goes to Sacramento, not to mention other taxes and fees. Considering the millions of cars in CA, that is a lot of money the State takes as a cut off the top and really eats into the average Joe’s family budget. A mid-size car or even a smaller car with a bigger tank costs 50 bucks to fill up. That is 10 bucks that goes straight to the State. Multiply that by millions of time a year. And that is not even all the taxes and surcharges.

Second, because CA has its own regulated special blend of gas, it is no wonder that the supply chain is being run like a monopoly with little competition.

Paul Emery

So now Walt is chiming in on the sex thing. What a hoot.

Supporting Dems right now Walt. Hoping for gridlock. Once again "The only thing worse than a two party system is a one party system".

"PS CO2 is also not the control knob for precipitation patterns in California."

Well, if it is, somebody is turning it back and forth pretty quickly.

Paul Emery

Too bad the Pubbers are so pathetic in California. Come on Repubs. Do something. You're causing us to be a one party State. The best you came up with in recent years was Arnold the Swartz and look what that amounted to.

Posted by: Paul Emery | 10 November 2018 at 02:55 PM

Normal heterosexual man are interested in and enjoy sex Punch! If you don’t fall into either of those subsets ....or maybe you are celibate by choice.....or maybe not?

And let’s recall....you raised the issue up thread about dating services.... apparently you are “interested” in where Todd finds his partners!

Where do you find yours.....other than in the past?

Todd Juvinall

Paul Emery has lost what little of a mind he once had. What a hoot. All that babbling. Just had lunch with my son and his 7 year old daughters. She made more sense then Paul Emery.

Congresswoman Linda Sanchez is married to a indicted hubby. You just can't make this stuff up. And there is a rumor DIFI is going to throw in the towel.

Bill Tozer

The first Korean American woman was elected to the House. But, nobody ever heard of her or her story...not to mention her congressional seat here in Blue California.

Young Kim became the first Korean-American woman elected to Congress. She now represents the 65th Assembly District, which includes parts of northern Orange County. She’s an entrepreneur, a minority, and a Republican. Despite fitting identity boxes that the left claims to celebrate, not only is the media failing to celebrate her win, they hardly covered her race at all. Regardless, she is a rising star to watch and her life story is inspiring.

Paul's Dementia is showing again. Ca. has been a one party state for a LONG time.
Now that Frisco has priced out anyone making less than a million a year, the lesser life forms are now spreading the virus of Proggysism to everywhere else, and bringing those Frisco values with them.
I wonder what the buzzard of Broad St. will say and do, when they turn on him? Mob rule is fine,,, until that vary same mob turns on ya'.

Todd Juvinall

The mob is now turning on white suburban women. They are truly unhinged.

Paul Emery

Can you offer a little explanation for your 4:14. Don't have a clue what you're talking about. You know, quotes, links, anything.

Paul Emery

Just commented on what Todd has to do to have any female companionship Fish because of the decline of women with his political bent. Didn't say a word about his sex life. Show me where I did.

Todd Juvinall

Nope you can find it on your own even with your diminished capacity.

Uh.... Paul...... LIB women will gravitate to Repub men. One,, LIB men don't tend to have much money, and sponge off others.
Lefty men that DO have money,,, for some reason tend to be lite in the loafers.

What's your excuse?

Bill Tozer

This story has bothered me for a few days. Little pizza joint in a small town (pop. 14,000) 80 miles north of NYC. Town folks got together to chip in to fund a mural to be painted on an old ugly wall on a side of a building. An American Flag. Non political. Wrong. Symbol of hate and racism. Now the townsfolk are chipping in to presrve the flag after it was defaced.

The proposed mural:

Before the marchers stepped off from La Bella’s to head down Main Street, Garcia told them, “If you see someone with a different point of view, ignore them. They have their right to free speech, just like we do.”

That was easier said than done, and by the time the two groups reached the intersection of Main Street and Route 208, they were exchanging slogans from across the street.

“USA! USA!” the pro-flag group repeatedly chanted.

“No Trump! No KKK! No fascist USA!” the other group countered.

Not subject to a no-sign rule, the counter-protesters carried a few. “In memory of those murdered by American imperialism,” said one sign, carried by a woman whose jacket bore the message, “Abolish ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).”

Brian Bottle of the hamlet of Wallkill, a pro-flag marcher, said earlier that he and others like him don’t want to stop immigration.

“We welcome everyone,” he said. “We want immigration, but we want it done in a legal process.”

After more than a dozen motorcyclists drove through the intersection in support of the flag mural, the pro-flag marchers headed back up Main Street to La Bella’s to continue fundraising for the project.
They were shadowed the entire way by the counter-protesters across the street..”

The aftermath.

It’s coming. Only 80 miles from NYC. It’s who they are. Oh yeah, lest I forget. Happy Veterans Day coming up.

I think you’ll find that most people, male and female use dating services to find romantic partners Punch, not like minded political allies! But hey.....if that’s what you are into, good luck in your hunt for Punchette the Liberal Democrat.

Democrats: ‘If We Lost, the Voters Must Be Racist’
The National Review Fri, Nov 9 7:11 AM PST

Reblog on Tumblr

Storyline A: “We didn’t lose!” Storyline B: “If we did lose, it’s because you’re a racist!”

The Democratic party’s transformation into an undergraduate intersectionality seminar at Oberlin is proceeding at a remarkable pace. The party’s current strategy is to scream “Racist!” at people voting for Mia Love and Tim Scott while insisting that Jared Kushner’s father-in-law and Benjamin Netanyahu’s best political friend is a scheming anti-Semite.

At issue is the defeat of Andrew Gillum in the Florida governor’s race and of Stacey Abrams in the Georgia governor’s race. Democrats are busily trying to undo those defeats as of this writing (Florida Democrats have a real knack for suddenly discovering caches of ballots from sympathetic voters at the opportune moment) while simultaneously arguing that the reason these two candidates failed is that they are black, and that Donald Trump’s America is just one tweet away from repealing the 13th Amendment.

Paul Emery

Todd 4:24

Once again Todd admits he's a liar just like his idol Trump.

Don Bessee

Is anyone surprised?

Bill Tozer

Todd @ 4:14 pm. Unbelievable. He really does not have a clue, does he? Life the bubble. Aparently heshe does not read Vogue magazine or any of the previous links. Ignorance is.bliss, I reckon.

Something to do on a slow news day.

Bill Tozer

Putting aside the Blue Wave of vitriol from the media directed at women voters because they voted wrong (against their own and the sisterhood’s stated best interests again) that our crack news direct has seemed to miss, carbon taxes across the West did not fair as well as thegas taxes in CA.

BTW. You know really pissed the progressive women off? Exit polls show that 40% of Hispanic women voted for Cruz in Texas, with the same numbers of Hispanic women voting against Stacey Abrams in Georgia. They voted wrong! They are still subjects of their husbands, fathers, brothers, and bosses. Took a page out of Hillary’s playbook.

Paul Emery

Did you read your link? If you had you would have read this

"The Nelson campaign distanced itself from the objections, which it said that it had not authorized.

“The lawyer who was present was not someone we had authorized to make such an objection. Noncitizens cannot vote in U.S. elections," Marc Elias, recount attorney for the Nelson campaign, said in a statement. "

Dems with 4% edge in total house votes. Five percent higher than Rasmussen estimate of Repubs+1.

"Analyzing 417 House races that featured at least two candidates on the ballot, the AP determined that Democrats earned more than 51.4 million votes in competitive House races nationwide, or 52 percent, compared to 47.2 million votes cast, or 48 percent, for Republicans."

Paul Emery

As a outspoken believer in the Rasmussen Poll why do you believe it was 5% off?

Bill Tozer

Fires: California’s wildfire narrative is one of repetition

“We had these epic, terrible events last year and our governor came out swinging, talking about climate change. [But] he ended up with decrees and bills that focused on thinning the forest,” Moritz added.

Forest thinning would not have stopped the Camp or the Tubbs. Fueled by dry grass growing amid scattered pine and oak trees, the Camp tore across land thinned by flames just 10 years ago. The Tubbs burned grassy oak woodlands, not timber land.

If non responsiveness to questions and requests constitutes lying then Punch you may be the greatest liar in a very long time! I was going to say the greatest liar in history but I have to acknowledge that there were probably Punchys at various other times in the past!

Don Bessee

More evidence he thought he was above it all -

The Cause of Action Institute, a conservative watchdog group, filed a Freedom of Information lawsuit for Comey’s Gmail correspondence involving his work for the bureau.

The Justice Department responded that there were an eye-popping 1,200 pages of messages for Comey and his chief of staff that met the criteria.

Justice released 156 of them but refused to hand over seven emails because they would “disclose techniques and procedures for law enforcement investigations or prosecutions.” And another 363 pages of emails were withheld because they discussed privileged agency communications or out of personal privacy concerns.

Cause of Action’s CEO slammed the former top G-man for minimizing the work he did using his private account. “Using private email to conduct official government business endangers transparency and accountability, and that is why we sued the Department of Justice,” said John Vecchione.
“We’re deeply concerned that the FBI withheld numerous emails citing FOIA’s law enforcement exemption. This runs counter to Comey’s statements that his use of email was incidental and never involved any sensitive matters.”

Paul Emery

I don't feel any Necessary to respond to stupid questions based on anecdotal information from undocumented sources Fish.

That's a typical pony tail of ignorance utterance -

Praise the Lord -

The day before surgery, Wood’s operation was canceled because his suspected tumor was gone.
“It’s a miracle and that is the way God planned it,” he said.
Specialists said they can’t explain why everything vanished. Wood’s doctor can’t either.
“We do tests and we have medical technology and we try to come up with some conclusion… sometimes things happen that we can’t explain,” said Dr. Richard Yee.

That's a good article, thanks.

"When Sonoma County officials argue against stricter building regulations, some note that many of the homes built to the county’s strictest codes were still destroyed in the Tubbs fire."

What I'm just not seeing anywhere is a set of landscape restrictions, building code, forest management, that actually makes a lick of difference. There certainly are plenty of burned areas to go check out and see what works. Maybe the only answer is to make houses disposable.

Bill Tozer

Quote found in NY Post concerning a journalist who shall remain unnamed.

“As is his habit, he doesn’t ask questions — he makes accusations and argues. Almost daily, he does it......”
Is not the Labour Party the Left of Center, the Left, and far left of British politics? I see the strong correlation with America’s Leftinistas. Easy to connect the dots here as well as there. Call Scotland Yard.

Bonnie McGuire

Looking back I gotta admonish Robert Cross and M to stop arguing regarding things you obviously haven't noticed because you lack the experience. If it weren't for ambitious individuals who take the risks and exert the hard work involved to start and operate a business that eventually grows...there wouldn't be any employment for those who need employment to eat and have a place to live. I've always regarded employers as extended mamas and papas taking care of those who aren't able to be self employed...for many obvious reasons. Consequently, the worker employer and employees in the private sector pay the taxes that pay for all those in our gov. Ah yes, gov workers pay taxes too, but whatever they pay was collected from those business employers and employees first. It's really easy to figure out once you've had a business and employees, and have paid attention to where government gets it's money. Ah yes...and then there's the credit card that allows government to borrow money from (international banking) using American citizens as collateral...via Federal Reserve Bank. Don't throw rocks at working businesses and their worker employees that are the financial foundation of our nation. They actually produce everything we need and enjoy. Oh...and one more thing regarding educated people. Historians say the most looked down upon people are farmers, but in reality they're the most important. Without them we'd all have to grow our own food or starve...

Don Bessee

I was going to write something but this says it better. God Bless our Veterans! -

I’m a little older now. I see a little more. I know a little more. And I know that veterans sacrifice immensely.
I know that our nation’s servicemen and women put duty to country above themselves.
I know that they serve not for medals or glory – but for a cause greater than themselves: Freedom.
I know that when our nation called, they answered.
Generations of veterans have stepped up and held the line against evil in the world.
And to that, I am eternally grateful.
So. To all of those brave souls that protected – and continue to protect – this beacon of light and freedom that we call America, I say, simply: Thank you.
