Those darn French have surprised me. Looks like Macron needs Mueller's help to survive. Maybe Trump colluded with him?

Paris

As a result of losing its soul, France has also been losing its body—its people, communities, business, and infrastructure. Like the rest of the developed world, the French are having fewer children and compensate for the population loss by taking in more immigrants. Consequently, the Parisian slums keep expanding while French villages gradually disappear.

The lucky few French workers who actually have a job labor under heavier tax burdens and can afford little. Middle-class families are lucky if they own a small apartment, an economy car, and a set of cheap clothes from China. The luxury products sold on the Champs-Elysees and elsewhere are mainly for the rich.

The most striking sign of decline in France for people visiting, however, is the disintegrating infrastructure. The government will go to great lengths to keep its landmarks safe and relatively clean, but it cannot hide the graffiti that mars everything, from train cars to buildings. It also cannot extinguish the stench of urine, feces, and body odor from the homeless, permeating every public space. Even if the roads are kept up in most places (thanks to high fuel prices, high tolls, and light, fuel-efficient cars), the subways and trains are decades old and decrepit.

To make matters worse, French cities feature ghettos of unassimilated immigrants who pose an ever-increasing drag on the economy and culture. They do not speak French; they do not work; some of them follow Muslim Sharia law; and they make up much of the country’s poverty, crime, and terrorism (“no-go zones”). They also collect handsome taxpayer benefits. For this reason, the protesters are also calling for France to vote against the UN migration pact, an agreement that would undermine participating countries’ efforts to regulate migration.

On the up side, hordes charging the border finally proves that walls do indeed. work. On the down side, there is not enough wall.

“Univision anchor Jorge Ramos made a similar observation last week while he was at the migrant camp in Tijuana, Mexico. Ramos reported that migrants were becoming “more intelligent” and finding porous spots along the border that they could exploit enter the United States illegally.

“If you go five miles that way or 25 miles that way, the wall that you see behind me disappears,” Ramos said. “If they don’t see a legal possibility of applying for political asylum, they’re just going to go a few miles… [and] they are going to try to do it illegally.”

During the down time yesterday, I took the opportunity to browse the archives. I forget all the minute by minute blows that we no longer discuss endlessly. There was Trump using stolen e-mails to “enchance” his election. Enchance came after Trump used stolen e-mails to help his election. Then there was treason. Trump treason, but when someone said Clapper and a couple others from the previous administration should be tried for treason....oh boy, treason only applies to Trump’s treasonous actions with Putin. Nice walk down memory lane.

I figure Trump would have set up non disclosure agreements whether he was running for President or not. Like using stolen e-mails to help his campaign, guess non disclosure agreements, if used to help a campaign, is a big no-no. Wonder if internal polling is a no-no as well. It will all play out. Water finds its own level.

When the RR comment function went down, I figured it was just the Chi-Coms. It was the tread when everything shut down. S They have been monitoring everybody everywhere and there is plenty of proof they monitor people on social media on US soil...as well as e-mails, bank accounts, etc. No place is safe from the Communist bastards if you criticize them, at home or abroad. They are a ruthless bunch, mean mothers, and will slam you with the iron fist. Don’t tolerate dissent or opposing views. Their way or the highway....the highway to evisceration. Then I thought I could have been the Leftinistas. Leftinistas or ChiComs......ain’t much dfference between the two. I certainly can’t tell them apart.

I just love this pic of My Gal. The smartest woman in America. She should learn to lighten up and move on. Maybe grow a beard like Al Gore did after 2000 and teach a course at Harvard or something. Maybe New York City College.

Todd Juvinall

Paul Emery all I said was born out except the House. So I win you lose.

Paul Emery

Todd

Of the three main elements in the Midterm Elections the Dems flipped 40 in the House (may be 41-more about that later) the Dems flipped 6 Governor seats and lost 2 in the Senate. Are you are actually calling the midterms a "Red Wave"!!!!

You are as delusional as your guy the Swartz when he was famously quoted as saying "I will fix it" when he became the Republican governor . Schwarzenegger, your guy Todd.

Bill Tozet

Todd @ 9:26 am
Noticed they have not been bitching about the Devil Twins Koch Brothers from the Senate floor on a weekly basis ever since they realized the Koch Bros rather are partial to the liberal immigration policies such as catch and release. Chamber of Commerce wants us to take in all of them as well. Come to think about it, they haven’t been bitching vocally over Soros or Tom Steyer either. Guess they are a bitched out.

CA turning super majority blue has taken decades in the making. Compare Santa Ana in the shadow of Disneyland in the 70’s to the Santa Ana in 2014. Got much bigger and poorer. But, the real point is the CA R’s in CA had a pathetic ground game down south ...and we can’t bitch if we got outspent and out hustled. Yes, they are fleeing the cities and spreading like gangrene, creeping even over the CA borders.
My sister once drove to Phoenix to stay a few days in the mid seventies and she said a couple of people were throwing rocks at her yelling, “Californians go home!” Then someone later was yelling “Californians go home as she pulled out of a supermarket parking lot, lol.
Somethings have remained the same, but you can’t convince the Progressies how most other states view them. Californian Lefties have given our State a bad name.

Do you know rare it is to lose the House and pic up seats in the Senate? Something like 83% odds against. And Oscar Cortex won her seat with something 18,000 total votes to her opponent’s 15,000 votes in a primary with around 19% turnout. She out hustled her incumbent opponent....and the district turned from a mix of ethnicities from the Ellis Island wave to something like 6-1 Latino in neighboorhoods in less than twenty years.

But, yeah, don’t hear too much wailing and gnashing of broken teeth over Citizens United lately. Maybe Oscar Cortez will bring attention to it. She will shake things up. I do like her idealism of youth. :)

That was then, this is now. How quickly minds change.

Don has apparently had his bell rung a few too many times.
Money quote (literally) - "I believe carbon emitters should pay the fuller cost of their effect on the environment we all share. And I like the idea of lowering the tax load on citizens, including, well, me. I like the projected increase in jobs, more money in people's pockets, Democrats and Republicans working together to solve a real problem, a solution that would make an actual dent."
Oh don't worry, Don - they'll be a dent all right.
What's not to like? Those A-hole farmers, ranchers, truckers, construction companies and other producers of goods and energy will have to pay through the nose for being so evil. And then the govt will lower your taxes? And then there's the 'projected' increase of jobs.
Can some one go over to the Union offices and see if Don is OK?
Even for him, this is off the rails insanity.
Then there's D. Berkheimer weighing in on how other people should spend their money according to what Darrell thinks is best.

M 1212pm - So you think that the 'caravan' would have dissolved all by itself had President Trump not put up a good border defense? Doing the same-ol'-same-ol' would have had all them migrants, after having made a couple of thousand mile dangerous trip to get to our border, when they got there they would have said 'Aw shucks, just kidding, we're going back home.'?? Well, on one hand the Dems can put the Russian Collusion away as they turn their attention to ILLEGAL campaign finance felonies...like not reporting the payment. Weak case, but make sure the word ILLEGAL is splashed across every talking point in bold print for awhile. Sure, we got to wait for the final report AND, more importantly, the IG report.

On the other hand, the investigation into the origins and our government’s promotion of the entire Russian Collusion story has barely scratched the surface. Unlike Meuller’s investigation, bigger fish are yet to fry. Comey is just a bit player. Moving on up.

When I want to read the truth and not hype, good or bad, I can trust Andrew MacCarthy to say what this latest hubbaloo actually. means. There have been so many false flags going up that (to be candid) I don’t bother even reading the stories lately.

“But when Cohen pleaded guilty in August, prosecutors induced him to make an extraordinary statement in open court: the payments to the women were made “in coordination with and at the direction of” the candidate for federal office – Donald Trump.

“Prosecutors would not have done this if the president was not on their radar screen. Indeed, if the president was not implicated, I suspect they would not have prosecuted Cohen for campaign finance violations at all. Those charges had a negligible impact on the jail time Cohen faces, which is driven by the more serious offenses of tax and financial institution fraud, involving millions of dollars.

“Moreover, campaign finance infractions are often settled by payment of an administrative fine, not turned into felony prosecutions. To be sure, federal prosecutors in New York City have charged them as felonies before – most notably in 2014 against Dinesh D’Souza, whom Trump later pardoned.

“In marked contrast, though, when it was discovered that Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign was guilty of violations involving nearly $2 million – an amount that dwarfs the $280,000 in Cohen’s case – the Obama Justice Department decided not to prosecute. Instead, the matter was quietly disposed of by a $375,000 fine by the Federal Election Commission.”

Russ 2:00 - It really doesn't matter what you think about the 'science' of AGW. That debate will run endlessly. What gets me are people like Don claiming that taxing energy will be this big warm wonderful multifunctional blessing for the economy. There isn't any debate there. If you raise the cost of extracting raw materials, raising crops, raising animals, manufacturing goods and on top of that - raising the cost of moving it all hither and yon, what happens to the cost of everything?
Maybe some one might get a little cash back, but if you want to eat and keep your house at something above 20 degrees in the winter you're going to have to pay a lot more than anything you might get from the govt. "inflation is a sustained increase in the general price level of goods and services in an economy over a period of time."
Wonderful - Paul managed to find a dictionary online and cut and paste a quote from said dictionary.
Here's the issue, Paul - why is there inflation?
If it's because the govt has added a tax to raise the cost of goods and energy with no increase in value to the consumer then...
Cue the Yellow Vests.
The Union's editor apparently doesn't understand basic economics nor does he follow world news.

Gregory

Paul, I don't get a feeling that you're grokking the difference in cost as a number of dollars and cost as a value of those dollars.

If a punitive tax is imposed on carbon fuels, everything that is moved or made by those fuels will be made more expensive, and therefore we will have less of them. Yes or no?

Gregory

The Union Army solved the hyperinflation experienced by the Confederate Dollar for a two week period. Does anyone know what the Union Army did?

A: they advanced on the city where the Confederacy had their printing presses, which had to stop printing Confederate dollars for a couple weeks for the move further from the advancing Union troops.

,,,the existing Border Wall worked as it has per usual for years,,,

,,,with the Trump improvements of rebar punji sticks that one woman was impaled on.
Typical low bid government contractor did not install rebar safety caps...

Looks like someone is drunk on Orange Cool-Aid again!!!

Scott O

"The Military left the border before the Caravan got there"
What caravan? Thought you said it was a phantasm.
Per usual, M and the left are confused.

Walt

What was Emery saying? "be more LIB like" ?
Here is what happens when that is put into practice.
https://www.breitbart.com/economy/2018/12/10/majority-of-discharge-petition-gop-members-exit-congress/
"In June, the 23 members used the discharge petition process to push for a Democratic-backed amnesty of at least 3 million DACA illegals. That push gave political cover to Ryan while he created a second immigration bill which successfully split the GOP caucus amid unanimous Democratic opposition to Goodlatte’s bill.

The subsequent November wipeout is being described by establishment outlets as a defeat for “moderates” — even though the discharge-petition group sought no compensating protections or benefits for the blue-collar workers whose wages would be damaged by the flood of amnestied workers.

,,,how bout that McCrea Dowless Walt???

Walt

WOW! Trump may have given money to a skank to keep her yap shut.
Yet "O" had millions in "illegal" money issues.
" Cohen admitted to criminal violations of election law. ... President Obama had a big campaign finance violation and it was easily settled! ... However, under federal campaign finance rules, a contribution is “anything of value given, ... for nearly $2 million in contributions in the final weeks of the campaign."

Then there is Uncle Joe, and HIS dirty money
The Biden for President campaign committee owes the Treasury more than $219,000 because it accepted excessive campaign contributions and understated the value of a trip taken on a private plane in the 2008 campaign, the Federal Election Commission said in a new report.

Auditors from the agency found numerous violations of campaign finance rules by the committee that Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. used in his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

We all have heard of the hush money fund down in Sac.
Now where is the outrage and criminal indictments there???

,,,good article by Boardman today,,,
Heritage Foundations nails LaMalfa hypocrisy,,,

"This is not a safety net. It is a massive social welfare program. Despite myths to the contrary, this inappropriate corporate welfare goes primarily to wealthy large agriculture producers, not to small family farms."

Paul Emery

WOW

Fox News believes that Trump will be indicted!!!

"Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano on Monday said he finds it impossible to believe that the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York will not at some point indict President Donald Trump."

WHEN HAVE YOU GUYS EVER BEEN AGAINST MASSIVE SOCIAL WELFARE PROGRAMS?

Paul Emery

Gregory

Can't make an estimation about the effects of a "punitive Tax imposed on carbon fuels" without doing an analysis on the effects on inflation of global warming which the tax is designed to mitigate.

Walt

You get right on that Paul. I'm sure someone has already done that.

Bill Tozer

“WOW! Trump may have given money to a skank to keep her yap shut”—— Walt

No, I would characterize it as Trump was being extorted for money during the last days of the election. October surprise. Stormy extorted money. At least John Edwards was not extorted for money to pay for fun times and his love child as his wife was dying of cancer.

Paul Emery

Bill

The tapes and communications with Cohen will tell. If Trump explicitly says we need to pay off the bonkettes because they will negatively affect the elects it's a campaign contribution.

Paul Emery

Either way Trump lied to the American people about it so what else is new.

Walt

Paul states"Trump lied to the American people" And the somebitch he voted for didn't?
Better check your own people Paul, before you start bitching about others.
At least Trump is looking to make America a better land, while your side looks to sell it out. Elected LIBS are only looking out for themselves.

Bill Tozer

Oh course the Prez lied to the American people and to his own cabinet. “I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.”

Did Trump lie about sex? Oh my, a married man lying about an affair? Unheard of. A treat to our democracy. Treason! Bribery! High crimes! Impeach the bastard for lying about sex, I say.

I remember a funny political cartoon from back in the day. It was a simple cartoon of Bill and Hillary walking hand in hand. My Gal was wearing a tee shirt with the ole “I’m with Stupid” with the arrow pointing to Bubba. Bill also was wearing an “I’m with Stupid” tee shirt with the arrow pointing down to his crouch.

Gregory

You're being evasive, Paul 1003am. It's a simple questions.

"If a punitive tax is imposed on carbon fuels, everything that is moved or made by those fuels will be made more expensive, and therefore we will have less of them. Yes or no?"

Scott O

Oh please, Paul - "...without doing an analysis on the effects on inflation of global warming which the tax is designed to mitigate."
Once again, Paul does the Spring Street shuffle off to the side to avoid actually answering a question.
2 seconds on Duck Duck Go found this:
https://www.masterresource.org/intergovernmental-panel-on-climate-change-ipcc/ipcc-alarmism-1-5c/
Trigger warning: The facts are we can't afford to 'mitigate' a fabricated tale of climate woe.

Don Bessee

Its always other peoples money with this guy -

"I would ask all employers who can, pay an end-of-year bonus to their employees," he said.

Bill Tozer

Oh Paris.

Anybody notice the graffiti on the wall, buildings, and inside looted shops in The City of Romance? No, the taggers did not write “Kilroy was Here”. Rather, it was an A with a circle around it, red and black. Must be Antifa’s calling card in the cities. The incredible shrinking rural France did not have such graffiti or looting. Hmmm. One could almost draw some parallels with Solid Blue urban districts and rural Red Districts in CA.

If you did not notice, don’t blame yourself. MSM buried that tidbit.

Sure, if it makes you feel good yes. Now answer this question. Will Global warming affect the cost of goods causing them to rise therefore causing inflation. Yes or no.

Thanks for your response.

Ha

Trump comlsains about staff. Would any of you work for this guy? (Todd excepted because he is attracted to Trumps Studleness).

"President Donald Trump is reportedly angry at his staffers for exhibiting low morale amid the search for a replacement for his outgoing chief of staff John Kelly.

White House sources who spoke to the Wall Street Journal said the president has taken to complaining once again about his “disloyal” aides and the apparently poor morale in the West Wing."

That's simply not possible….we were assured by the left and the PARTY of One...Green Libertarian™ wing that if Kavanaugh was appointed that every woman within a twenty block radius of the Supreme Court was fair game for rape and that Brett and Dick Cheney were establishing their own D.C. coat hangar franchises for "do it yourself" abortions!

So I guess all that bleating and whining leading up to the hearings was just more proggie bullshit…...eh dugsKKKi?!

Bill Tozer

@ 12:58 pm

.,you go Brett”

Yep, Brett sided with liberal values. Now there will not be millions of women dying on the streets. Thank goodness for that. Rip those babies from their mother’s wombs. Suck their brains out. Burn them with chemicals, fry those babies, kill them babies. You go Brett with those liberal values. San Franscico Values. Kill those babies, the more the merrier. Yahoo, good times. Party time in M’s home today. And let the taxpayers pay for it.

Rip those babies from their mothers....unless they are trying to bust into our country illegally and are brown. Black babies don’t count. Eugenics and all that stuff. It’s why Margaret Higgins Sanger founded PP.

See, all that screaming and disrupting over K rolling back a woman’s right to kill was all hat and no cattle. All that wailing and gnashing of teeth over nothing...again. What a waste of time and energy. Suck those brains out. Kill them and kill them good. Time to Celebrate! Victory for the Party who says there is no room for Pro-Life women in their ranks. How exclusionary
