Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23
George Rebane
A merry and joyous Christmas wish from the Rebanes (this year our Southern Tribe – the Esteys, children and grandchildren - moved here to northern California) to all who read these pages - God's annual promise reissued. And to that, Jo Ann and I add the fervent hope that your new year will be healthy and fulfilling.
Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!

We have a Christmas tradition that's kind of spinoff the secret santa idea. When shopping in the days rolling up to Christmas I buy the stuff for the person ahead or behind me in line, sometimes both. Sometimes at multiple stores.
Today when out grabbing an extra this or that I saw the lady in line behind me who had an odd looking order for the day, stuff like a broom and dustpan, nothing really holiday related so I picked her. As it turns out she was a refugee from Paradise who lost everything and that's why it was such a load of basic needs stuff. Probably one of the most special surprise buys in many a year for us.
Count your blessings every day!

Merry Christmas to all.
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the blog,
A few creatures were stirring, some to pettifog.

Fifty years ago tonight I enjoyed midnight mass in Berlin, as the Apollo 8 astronauts read from Genesis on the first rounding of the moon. Merry Christmas!
