To the federal budget, 5 (laughingly called) big ones amounts to less than a rounding error. They just don't want to stop the influx of Dem voters.
We'll spend far and away beyond that much for social spending on these poor worthies. Not to mention the millions we spend to prosecute (and defend- we are racist don't ja know) the low-life that flow unhindered into our land.
As long as the victims are nobodies from nowhere, the elites are content to sit behind their own private wall with their own guards (often on the public dime) who tut tut the lessors that suffer at the hands of imported thugs.
When the Dem and wealthy elites see their own start to fall to the illegal imports then we will see a quite an urgent and sudden change in their tone. The bright and white Nevada County remains largely aloof of such grubyness.
The folks that live on the border have such a different tale to tell, but that would involve an 'inclusive' point of view belying the left wing cant of wanting to listen to 'everyone's stories'. Some stories, it seems, are rather best left untold.

"When the Dem and wealthy elites see their own start to fall to the illegal imports then we will see a quite an urgent and sudden change in their tone. "

I think I'll have to disagree with that.

They'll simply move to whiteopias within the places like California or simply go to the nicer western states. At least the quality of coffee shops will improve in those towns as they are blessed with the benefits of ex-Blue Staters.

DIVERSITY! can simply be run via remote control from their new homes. Just imagine the playing pieces they'll get when Africa hits 2.4 billion with a 'b' potential American and EU citizens.

In the meantime, rather than wasting $5B on evil Orange Hitler borders, we'll just drop $70B-$100B on the Fresno Flyer as it gets built out. In addition the additional train stations can serve as rec centers for junkies.

......and there was woe unto the progressive left with much wailing and consternation!

"They'll simply move to whiteopias within the places like California or simply go to the nicer western states."
Au contraire - the idea that the lefty-whities will abandon Bel Air, Newport or the Canyons to flee to what? - Alturas???
C,mon - they'll have the help gunning down those intruders left and right.
Move to Idaho? Dahling - get serious. Just de-exist those disgusting vile cretins and put some more chlorine in the pool, will you? There's a dear.

Don Bessee

Wow, still troll free in the sand box! Good ol pc freaks at mizzou -

Scott O

Don - that would be the 'Ann Coulter rule'.

"Au contraire - the idea that the lefty-whities will abandon Bel Air, Newport or the Canyons to flee to what? - Alturas???"

The thing is that DIVERSITY! is just a thing they see on TV, so I don't think you'll see a change in their tone...at last the people with serious money.

OTOH, I can definitely see middle and upper middle class people bailing. They can continue doing The Lord's Work from Scottsdale. The retirement communities in the western US will fill up with this era's busybody old white ladies, the most coddled humans in the history of the planet, waving signs in intersections about all the 'rights' they have lost. God help us all.

Don Bessee

Here is something to make the trolls heads explode -

Thanks Don@3:48, that's a hilarious article. It also led me to this one:

You know, you can disagree with Breibart's politics, but I simply wouldn't know about this stuff without sites like that. Good on 'em.

Scott O

scenes at 4:09 - "OTOH, I can definitely see middle and upper middle class people bailing. They can continue doing The Lord's Work from Scottsdale."
If you would kindly have stood at the border you would have seen the middle and upper middle class fleeing long, long ago.
We're talking the elites. The Hollywood leftistas. The ones that have enough money to so far stave off the problem. Newport Beach and Bel Air are not in any sense of the word 'middle class'. The ones that glorify illegal immigration, once they and theirs are being victimized on a regular basis, there'll be a change in the 'deeply held beliefs' we hear so much about.

Don Bessee

No one!? -

According to Reason, NJSP Sgt. Jeff Flynn said “they have received ‘zero'” magazines as a result of the ban.

On December 15, 2018, former NYC police commissioner Bernard Kerik blasted the magazine ban because it also applies to off-duty police officers, too. In other words, off-duty officers cannot legally use magazines holding more than 10 rounds while off the clock.

Kerik said, “NJ Governor @GovMurphy is endangering the life of every off duty NJ cop! Gang bangers, drug thugs and really bad guys don’t give a damn about magazine capacity… So he takes the good guy’s ammunition, and the bad guys are loaded for bear!”

Scott O

Don - 4:43 - notice how the murder rate just went down?
Yeah, none of us either.
But if it saves the life of just one non-white child, it's worth it!
And as a bonus, it pisses off the NRA. Which was the actual intent in the first place.

No, really its not a gag -

Mr Asiamah told the High Court his superiors had neglected to warn him to bring warm kit such as gloves, socks, and boots ahead of the exercise, which he said took place one week after he was forced to spend five hours listening to lectures in cold weather while dressed in civilian clothing in Naseby, Northamptonshire.

re: Those magazine laws.

Probably the stupidest bit of anti-gun legislation I've run into (aside from maybe the rules on suppressors). I wonder how they'll deal with pump action rifles that use AR-15 magazines.

Everybody knows where the real statistical danger is from firearms, stolen 9mm handguns owned by people who tend to live in the same part of town. It would be amusing to see the uproar if you wrote a law that actually accomplished something, maybe we could get an AI judge to do this in a few years.

re: ScottO and the Blue Elite.

I doubt they'll ever change their minds, it isn't like people typically do that in any case. If the California beach turns into a favela, they'll just go to the other house in Jackson Hole and keep on keepin' on.

Billl Tozer

Pretty simple, even for the simple minded.

Scott O

"If the California beach turns into a favela..."
Have you seen parts of SoCal? They're already there. I've strolled through favela in Mexico. That isn't the problem. It's when a coupla bad dudes lay a pistola upside your head and head out with your kids. The cops just shrug and put their palms up. Suddenly border security will mean something to the elites. Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, Vail - it will happen eventually unless we get serious. I knew a guy at work who grew up in Mexico - very middle class. Told me about a beach south of Puerto Vallarta where it was very safe with no violence. Less than a year later the mayor's head was stuck on a post. It's not so much where you are as much as what actually happens to you or your family.

Paul Emery

Well there is one thing I agree with Trump about and that's the lies that led us into the war in Iraq. I went and saw "Vice" last night and it really told the story as to how we were duped into the war in Iraq by oil interests that Cheney was beholden to. Here's Trump blasting Bush and his administration for the illegal war that we're still paying for.

The "she" referred to is Nancy Pelosi

"I was surprised that she didn't do more in terms of Bush and going after Bush. It was almost -- it just seemed like she was going to really look to impeach Bush and get him out of office, which, personally, I think would have been a wonderful thing."

Blitzer: "Impeaching him?"

Trump: "Absolutely, for the war, for the war."

Blitzer: "Because of the conduct of the war.""Trump: "Well, he lied. He got us into the war with lies. And, I mean, look at the trouble Bill Clinton got into with something that was totally unimportant. And they tried to impeach him, which was nonsense. And, yet, Bush got us into this horrible war with lies, by lying, by saying they had weapons of mass destruction, by saying all sorts of things that turned out not to be true."

Todd Juvinall

We don't care.

Paul Emery

I thought you were a Trump supported Todd? Are you for dumping him?

Bill Tozer

Changing gears, interesting piece. I thought of Bill Krystal, our beloved Bobbie, Stevie, and Brennan, among a host of media personalities

Why do (most) right wing intellectuals hate Trump?

“So anti-capitalist intellectuals are “resentful” when they are not society’s top dogs because school has taught them “they are the most valuable people, the ones with the highest merit, and that society should reward people in accordance with their value and merit. But a capitalist society does not satisfy the principle of distribution ‘to each according to his merit or value.’” Rather, it rewards those who best satisfy “the perceived market-expressed demands of others.” The anti-capitalist intellectual compares himself to wildly successful entrepreneurs and bristles with anger at a system that seems to “bait and switch” the metric of success.

Similarly, the anti-Trump right-wing intellectual bristles at a political system that does not “appropriately” value their “expertise” and “superior” knowledge and which, consequently, elevates a “buffoon” like Trump to the presidency—and on the shoulders of millions of those “deplorables,” no less. Anti-Trump right-wing intellectuals traffic in information, the gold standard in today’s world, something upon which we are ever-more reliant. Yet, in this arena, the American electorate defied them and their harebrained “proposals,” offered coercively, not through persuasion. Brazenly so. Thus, they resent the man who smashed their pretensions of politics-as-white-paper-drafting-session and roundly repudiated their perceived “right to rule.”

No wonder they hate him!”

Saying You’re Against Fascists Doesn’t Excuse Acting Like One

Money quote: This is part of the brilliance of Antifa. Unlike most fringe political groups, Antifa is not named for something.” Hmmm. Muskegon Resist!

Communists and fascists of the 1920s and 1930s were unified by one thing above all else: their willingness to use political violence to achieve political goals. Mussolini, like Lenin, had no qualms about using violence in his effort to “make history, not endure it” (a Marx quote Mussolini was fond of employing).

Antifa openly advocates and employs violence and intimidation. Like Mussolini’s “vanguard minorities,” they dress in black garb (though Antifa members often also cover their faces) and use intimidation and violence to prevent political opponents from assembling. These tactics include launching feces at law enforcement and using bricks, bats, chains, and knives in their street wars.

The methods are ostensibly reserved for fascists, yet so many have shown a willingness to overlook the fact that Antifa is employing fascist tactics. Antifa is given a pass because labeling the other side as “fascist” automatically makes them “good,” for they are the ones fighting against fascism. It’s a brilliant rhetorical trick. As Chris Cuomo said in defense of Antifa on a carefully-worded CNN segment in August, “fighting against hate matters.”

In a moral universe where the ends justify the means, using fascist tactics to fight fascists (or people deemed fascists) is entirely proper. The dangers of embracing the philosophy of violence, however, are severe. For as Solzhenitsyn observed, the first casualty of violence is the truth.

The year in review: The departure of girlie men. Good Riddance, finally.

“Why Jeff Flake makes my stomach turn.”

We walked into Flake’s office at meeting time, exchanged a few pleasantries, and then I asked for his endorsement. He didn’t say “Yes.” He didn’t say “No.”. He didn’t ask my positions on taxes, abortion, immigration, or anything else. He didn’t ask about my religious beliefs or my family life. He didn’t laugh in my face and tell me to get out of his office.

All of those things would have been perfectly acceptable and understandable. Instead, however, he said something I’ll never forget, and to this day it makes my stomach turn. He looked me right in the eye and said, “What did John McCain say?”

That’s who Flake is. That’s who he was, and it’s who he’ll always be. He is wholly reliant on stronger men to make his decisions for him. McCain was once that man for him. It didn’t even occur to him to say yes or no when asked for an endorsement.

Now he has turned to Democrats, who know they can use Flake to further their goal of stopping Kavanaugh, the same way they used him to try and pass the Gang of Eight amnesty bill. Flake is the 15-year-old boy who shoplifts for a street gang “because they were nice to him.”

True peace can only be found on the other side of war. Flake simply lacks the necessary equipment to fight the political battles we need. The modern left is weaponized. They are not interested in your peace gestures. The left is only interested in dominating you.

Men like Flake had their place, but that place no longer exists in modern America. Flake is made for a world of bubblegum and unicorns and campfire giggling with Democrats. That world is gone, and his efforts to live on the Fantasy Island of Civility are now kneecapping conservative causes and judges.”

More of those Frisco Values. Growing anti-semitism by the far Left will be the underreported story of 2019, just as it was in 2018.

“You can be gay, intern in the Obama White House, work on Barack Obama’s reelection campaign, and serve as the Silicon Valley fundraising director for the Clinton presidential campaign in 2016, but if you also happen to be Jewish and support the existence of Israel, hard leftists want you gone, as 29-year-old Manny Yekutiel found out the hard way when he opened a café/bookstore in San Francisco’s Mission District”

Paul Emery

You're "good riddance" to Sen Flake just solidifies the continuing demise of the Trump Party. Even the South is now marginal with close elections in States that were once runaways-Cruz O'Rourke for example. The Republican Party no longer exists, it is now the Party of Trump. Look what happened to California Republicans as an example.

Todd Juvinall

You have a short memory Paul Emery. American politics is cruising along just like it always does. Flake and a couple of others are out and not because of Trump but by their own political selves. When your lover Obama was President he gave America the House and later the Senate for the people. I do not recall your analysis as to the democrats demise. We are a divided country and it will swing back and forth as it always does.

George Rebane

PaulE 1008am - A short perusal of similar analyses you have recorded here seems to coagulate into a proposition that under Trump America has already achieved a three-party political landscape. We have the Dems (assume they're still one party), then we have your "Party of Trump", and finally what's left is the rump of a Republican Party. Is that the way you see it?

Paul Emery

You miss the point of what I said. The Republican party has ceased to exist. It is now the Party of Trump. If he falls, and he likely will, his party will go down with him and there will be no organization to replace him. He has gutted the party. California is the crowning example. there is no Republican Party in California as we speak.

Paul Emery

that's about it George. Trump holds the cards. If there is a rebellion against him by what's left of the traditional Republican Party-Romney and a few others-he can split the party and cash in his cards. It will take years for the Republicans to rebuild and the Dems will have free reign.

Todd Juvinall

Oh please, Paul Emery. The Republican party is fine and Trump is its head guy. Just like you claiming you ar a green libertarian, in America, a person can claim just about anything just like you do and others either accept or don't. Trump calls himself a Republican therefore he is. Now go back to your search engine and try again to make some sense.

Todd Juvinall

Here you go Paul Emery. This video is all people need to know about you Trump haters. Sorry the language is raw but this is how you unhinged liberals talk to Trump supporters.

punchy 1034/1039am
Funny guy... that's what you were saying BEFORE Trump took over as the titular head of the GOP.

George... I'd say the Democratic Party is fracturable in two... the lunatic fringe left, and the moderates who don't want the ire of the lunatic fringe denouncing them.

We need more incidents like the xhale city vape shop meltdown to show folks how they'll be treated if they act like its OK to go out in public with your politics showing.

Paul Emery

In your opinion has Trump been good for the Republican Party in California?

Paul Emery

So Gregory do you believe the Republican Party is in good health? How do you explain what has happened in in California and the results of the last election?

Bill Tozer

“It will take years for the Republicans to rebuild and the Dems will have free reign.”

Maybe, maybe not. If you are talking about the Nelson Rockefeller Republicans, I certainly hope so. If you are talking about Paul Ryan, Gov. Kasich, Flake-Corker Republicans, I really, really hope so. RINO is a derogatory term. Republicans In Name Only.
Flake is one such fellow. In his home state, he was polling about 9% and did not even bother to run for re-election. Couldn’t even primary him because he is a quitter. He is very pissed off that the good voters of Arizona throughly rejected him and his wacky ideas. So much so, he ran into the arms of CNN and MSNBC for aid and comfort. Now he is blocking any appointments of federal judges to exact his revenge on his Party and his for voters not kissing his rear and falling on their knees to worship him. An insecure man like that puts being loved ahead of all else, including country, ideology, philosophy. It’s all about being loved to Flake. There is a world of difference between being loved and loving. He needs to be adorned, like a man with a guitar on stage.

Flake is from Snowflake, AZ, afterall.

I remember the DNC Convention in 68’ when Mayor Daley tear gassed the violent far Left hooligans n the streets of Chicago. The party of LBJ ceased to exist after that and the Dems ran ultra out of touch liberals like HHH and McGovern because that is who they became. And despite all the pundits and wringing of hands, the Dems remained a viable Party, full of dope smokers, long haired freakaziods, God and America haters. Burn baby Burn. Odd that McGovern later called for immediate US military intervention in Cambodia. The Party of War.

Now the Dems might nominate run a man who never registered as a Dem in his entire life....until 2016. The self proclaimed Socialist from Vermont who honeymooned inthe USSR and France. The Republicans did not run Trump. Trump ran in spite of the Republicans and their out of touch elitist Gang of Eight.

How many times do I have to hear the R’s are toast, done, put a fork in it? It was the vogue thing to write about and declare between Nov. 10th and Dec. 31th, 2008. The hated liar George W. Bush as gone, Nancy held the gavel, and the Republican Party as it existed was destined to the trash heap on history...perhaps a regional party only in the Deep South. Ok, fine.

Two years later a group of “Astro-turf” bitter clingers emerged as the Tea Party Patriots.
Now, the Dems long for Bush Republicans, ROFLMAO. The problem with the Republican Party is there are too many old Bush Party types thinking they know best still around.

Will it take decades for the R’s to rebuilt? Perhaps. Perhaps not.
Burn baby burn! Don’t trust anyone over 30. Do it! Pigs in a blanket, fry ‘em like bacon:

“In identity politics, loyalty to race, ethnic group and gender often trump the claims of party. The diversity Democrats celebrate is one day going to pull their party apart, as the social, cultural and racial revolutions of the 1960s pulled apart the party of FDR and LBJ.”

Todd Juvinall

Paul Emery, there is no hope for the R party in California. You have overrun the place with illegals and now they get a drivers license and a registration. California may come back to its sense and hopefully before I croak.

I am assuming you are all in for the millions of regulations and laws and taxes here.

George Rebane

Gregor 1156am - Agreed about the Dem party; that's why I inserted the assumption in my 1034am to keep things simple.

So Paul......are we closing out 2018 with yet another litany of endless open ended questions?

Hi Paul,, your shiny ray of sunshine from HELL is here. Better put on your glasses.

Paul seems to love the fact that Ca. is a Progressive shithole.
Yet has yet to even state one "benefit"(?) of the state becoming said steaming pile in the outhouse in Mid August.

Enjoy the runaway taxation Paul. Your Proggy friends have their super majority back. Just because your one of "them" in no way shields you..(No club membership discounts bub.)

Can you absorb the abolition of Prop 13? (Ca. Proggys just HATE that law) The Sac. Proggys are working day and night to find a workaround.
Name your excuse for a tax. Can you pay it? Who is going to subsidize those for you?

Posted by: Walt | 29 December 2018 at 12:58 PM

Walt, Are you thinking about punching out like Scott O did?

HELL NO! We will just figure out how to keep things and become burdens on society. Maybe grow dope to sell under the table like all the rest, thanks to law changes, I can make 50 grand a year out of my own kitchen.( Walt's BBQ bunker?)
File for full disability? There are SO many ways to play the LIB system now... If illegals and deadbeats can, well,,,, just play by their rules.( yet still vote for adults to run things.)

Posted by: Walt | 29 December 2018 at 01:19 PM

Ok...just checking!

I figured that other than me you might be the next likely candidate! (I got at least 4 more here while the youngest finishes High School).

,,,too funny watching the super conservos squirm under the Lib supermajority!!!

yeah, walt, got my food saver going in my kitchen bagging up all my buds!!!

Wow, that xhale vape employee sounded just like those homophobe cake bakers, Hobby Lobby, ChickFillet, et al!!!

We are just going to hunker down, watch with morbid glee as the Proggys self destruct the state.

Think things are wild now? Just wait till the people of Paradise
start trying to rebuild. All those new building codes and "add ons"
rear their ugly heads.
All those mandated solar systems,,, shaded by TREES!

Seen the photos from there? All the treetops are nice and green.
(the fire was blown sideways THROUGH the trees)

",,,too funny watching the super conservos squirm under the Lib supermajority!!!

I don't see much squirming, just acceptance. A combination of urbanization and Mexican nationals pretty much seals the deal. Aside from taxes, no one here lives in the real California so it tends to be just a theoretical construct.

So where is my free college, single payer healthcare, and Blue Mob utopia generally? Perhaps just K-12 at the national average would be a good start, there's nowhere to go but up after all.

Funny thing how the Blue Supermajoritymob doesn't lead to better results, huh? Truth is, the money just ends up in a different set of pockets. Now that the Blue Mob has merged with the War Party you'll be hard to stop.

George Rebane

M 139pm - it doesn't take "super conservos to squirm under the Lib supermajority"; any American who does not want to see the country rapidly destroyed will be squirming wherever such collectivist super-majorities come to power. I personally have been uneasy for some decades now as CA has spiraled downward for all but the very rich and the gimmes.

I hope the concept of such a response is not new to you. If it is, consider how you and yours would feel if instead America would be growing stronger under Republican supermajorities, with educational scores improving, the economy growing at a sustained 3%+, regulations being sunsetted, more gimmes entering the workforce, border porosity reduced below 15K/yr, a strong military, blacks and Hispanics finally figuring out who's been screwing them for decades, and America's hegemon role again celebrated across the world. You progressives would absolutely freak out under such a scenario.

That's an interesting notion dugsKKKi.....just more evidence that progressivism is just an ersatz religion with the screechy response of the clerk to one "not of the body" customer that he was in fear for his mortal soul!

At least the baker presented a calm, reasoned position based on his faith for not wanting to serve the gay couple while the dear, dear progressive lad screeched like a frightened howler monkey! #sad

PS: You've had plenty of time to think about it! How many dugsKKKi.....how many new brown gardener/housekeeper/geriatric Guatemalan dugsKKKi tenders are we in favor of letting in to satisfy your needs?

George Rebane

PaulE, constant reports come in from the new migrant camps in Mexico telling of how the central Americans are all convinced that they have a right to enter America any way they can. They are being told this by their ad hoc leadership cadres and their NGO lawyers advisers in attendance. Do you have any idea where these people get their ideas for such 'rights'. Was it through a recently updated study of our Constitution, or some organization in the US, or did they just make it up? Or...?

Scott O

Hated to leave but it was just getting worse and worse. I had the opportunity and that illegal 'fire fee' was the final straw. I could see that staying meant death by a thousand cuts. I do hope that somehow the poor state can survive - I just don't see how. C'mon, CA - prove me wrong.

Bill Tozef

Oh, M is just tickled pink that an illegal killed a cop. That’s his special kind of woody.
Darn. Lost another buddy to punching out. Nice man, probably just under 50. Has a good day job, lovely wife and grown children. A community asset in Butte County. Besides his good paying day job, he owns a postcard perfect horse ranch and is heavily involved in horse rescue and many non-profits.
He also was a nice organic farm growing vegatbles to sell to the health conscious (he’s into that) and I particularly loved the way he took old barn wood to build his stables and barns. Great couple, would be a perfect fit in our area. Only problem is he is a conservative and LaMalfa supporter. Just got the e-mail. “Leaving Crazy California after the 1st of the year.” He grew tired of all the rules, regulations, endless taxes, and all the bums, homeless, and crime that has entered his area. Goodbye my friend. Our loss is another state’s gain.

.”It will take years for the Republicans to rebuild and the Dems will have free reign.” Ok,fine. The Dems already had free reign in CA before Trump. Federal law says employers must verify the immigration/citizenship status of employees, CA state law says its illegal to check into a employee’s immigration status. We have the Brownstreak to nowhere and have barred LE from letting ICE into local jail cells to remove criminals ordered deported by a federal administrative judge. We have made it against the law to unilaterally offer someone a plastic straw and have exempted the water flowing from Yosemite from the Engandered Spicies Act so that none of the precious wateris diverted for the little smelt. All that water goes directly to Frisco Values Frisco. If that isn’t free reign, what is??
We have 10-11% of the nation’s population and 25% of all the homeless and a third of all those on welfare. We have one of the highest state income tax rates to go with the highest sales tax rates to go with one of the highest business tax rates.

The R’s are toast in CA and nothing can stop the free reign of the Leftinistas. It did not happen overnight. It took years in the making. When I was a kid, every boy wanted a Buck knife. It was coveted. Made in San Diego of all places. Just about the time Buck knives reached their 100th anniversary, the company up and left CA. Around 2005. I think. NestleUSA Left last year,1,800 companies of all sizes left in 2016.

It all gets down to Q of Life. Free reign? You already have free reign. I don’t go to the beaches anymore, anyway.

When I was in high school, the CA public school system was the envy of America. Not so anymore.

My niece still lives here...in the San Jose area. She got car jacked in Roseville visiting the Sierra Nevada recently. Getting closer. And Punchy freaks out about a non-violent sign hung on a post. He has not even felt the first bites of the wringer, living in the bubble and all.

It’s not Trump. It’s the Progressives. It takes two to tango, so do the tango without us. No more showing up on the Constitutional Day Parade. The parade will be toast soon enough as soon as more Leftinistas find out it’s the parade of Marching Slave Owners...White people slave owners. It’s who “we” are with our Frisco Values.

Bill Tozer

Dr. Rebane

Did you mean 2:27 pm rather than 2:19 pm? Either way, is all good. If Michele Obama wants to wear $4,000 boots as she decries income inequality, that’s her right. If Melania Trump wants to wear mid-priced Timberlines you can find at Target, that’s her right as well.

I never knew. Probably why so many old useless guns were turned - to raise money so they can go out and buy loaded rocket launchers!
Maybe just to blow off for New Years?

Rocket murders not so much! More inner city government stupidity......yes.....Baltimore has that in abundance?

Its not often you see wide receivers get hammered with 65k in unnecessary roughness fines by the NFL!

Good Lord Russ, you should get outside more I think.

My sum total of regular news:

Radio Sputnik
BBC World News (and sometimes BBC4)
now and again a couple of what are essentially aggregators (4chan.The_Donald,zerohedge) just to find the funniest deviltries coming out of the Blue Mob lately. The other ones, Pension Tsunami and CollegeFix, I just found depressing over time.

I figure if news is important, I'll hear about it from someone. I can't say that the minutia of an empire augering in is very educational.

Todd Juvinall

Russ you sure read a lot. What I like and do often is YOUTUBE. I type in debate or a person's name that I like and watch them rip the snowflakes a new one. D'inesh gets loons at almost every college. Anyway we actually do have some smart people on or side.

Bill Tozer

Good list, Russ.

What the Robert Crosses and M’s of this world do not grasp is the debate that goes on in conservative/libertarian circles concerning a multiple of issues under the sun that they are blissfully unaware of. Some constitutionalists have filleted Mitch for (as they see it) going along with unconstitutional programs or budget items presented by the previous administration....before Trump. They feel Mitch should have at least protested on Constitutional grounds. Others do not like tariffs or voice disagreement with particular items in the Crime bill which fails to notify rape or assualt victims that the bad guys have been released back in the community, as an example. There is never 100% agreement on a wide range of issues, as there is seldom 100% agreement in any group, be it a sewing circle or how best address wildfires or fundraising for a non-profit.

What puzzles me is the fingernails on the blackboard reaction to the Drudge Report. Fake news!, The Drudge Report is just a bulletin board posting links from around the country. Like the bulletin board at The Briar Patch or a laundry mat.
I have yet to read one article written by Drudge or staff. Akin to Google News or Yahoo News, except Yahoo News or Google will take an article from Miami or Chicago or the wires and throw Yahoo Enterainment on the headings....while condensing a link from the Hollywood Reporter or some fashion magazine. Drudge just gives the reader links to read, covering everything under the sun from our horrid sickening repulsive gross obesity crises to Syria. Anyway, I remain puzzled why the “Fact Checker” attacks on Drudge Report is all about....since Drudge does not write articles but very seldom and that is on traffic flow.

Another thing the Control Freak Leftinistas who DEMAND we not read this or that publication fail to grasp is sites and organizations change overtime. Somtmes I feel that the Southern Poverty Law Center is itself a terrorist organization. I do give them credit for labeling The Nation of Islam as the hate group they are. At least a broken clock is correct twice a day, if only for a millisecond. And despite the ACLU pointing to defending the rights of Nazis to peacefully assemble in Stokie way back in the 70’s, after Charlottesville no way will they defend the rights free speech of such groups in the future. Fox is changing and the NYT has publically declared they have thrown journalistic standards out the window to Resist! Bad Orange Man. What, after Trump they will return to objective journalistic standards? Not likely. They like making the news more than reporting on the news.

The Lefties like M see something like an article I post from some site like the Patriot Post and immediately decry the source....not even bothering to see the article was linked and reprinted with permission from AP or even the WaPo, lol. Contempt prior to investigation. Or, they fail to grasp that I may like one writer from a sight but disagree with another writer from the same site.

Sometimes I refrain from posting a good link if it contains a paragraph or two that appears ‘too preachy’ or off topic, no matter how spot on the main point is. And often times, like Scenes, I grow bored with sites and some parrot’s mindless distractions due to TDS, BDS, or general hatred of anything Right. Strike that. Of anything contraire to their worldview. That MUST be silenced. They, like a fat man wallowing in self pity, try to prevent Righties from peacefully assembling.

How many times does Dr. Rebane have to ask someone from the Left to present (or list) their credo or core beliefs as it pertains to policy or issues? Too many to count. Bush lied, people died...Orange Man lied...or RINO or Fox contributor said this or that against bad Republicans and that’s all they are capable of presenting. Can’t talk about their own plans or ideas or policy because they have no plan. The Leftinistas believe in coercion, not persuasion, IMHO.

Oh yeah. To the uniformed popinjays dipshits Fox’s Judge Nappy is a libertarian, not a “lefty”.

Here is an interesting article. Can’t say I agree with it in its totality or even 80% of it, but agree with the overall premise...that Trump is for the little guy. Who else would work OT on Christmas for free? How else would say that our trading partners (and some allies) are screwing us royally? Who else would say he refuses to pay an outrageous price for the new Airforce One. “I want Boeing to make money, but not that much money.” We have been getting screwed, folks.

Robert Cross

In the "some people retain their moral character" dept. -- Retired Army 4 Star Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the former top commander of U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan, said he would. not take a job in the trump administration if offered because, “It’s important for me to work for people who I think are basically honest, who tell the truth as best they know it....I don’t think he (trump) tells the truth.... What I would ask every American to do is ... stand in front of that mirror and say, ‘What are we about? Am I really willing to throw away or ignore some of the things that people do that are pretty unacceptable normally just because they accomplish certain other things that we might like?’”

George-- this goes back to the post I made the other day about moral compass and political expediency, that you pushed aside because it was not under the proper blogpost category. This is the premier issue, not borders, not immigration, not so called fake news, climate change, or the witch hunt. This is at the heart of what America is or isn't. Are we a country of moral character and values that does the right thing, what is best for humanity and the planet, or is winning, making money, and power, by hook or by crook, more important.

Scott O

Wait - "Truthout'??? Weren't we just told that site is for weenies?

McCrystal was a Obama acolyte. His refusal to something he would never be offered is hilarious.

Bobby at 11:55 - Nobody asked the ex-general to do anything.
Another never-Trumper blowing his horn to try to stay relevant.
Bobby wins again: "Are we a country of moral character and values that does the right thing, what is best for humanity and the planet, or is winning, making money, and power, by hook or by crook, more important."
Is that the best you can do, Bobby?
What is moral, Bobby? Pulling unborn children apart and selling their body parts? Is that moral? Are left wing lies better than right wing ones? What, exactly is the 'right thing'? Rewarding law-breakers who cut in line ahead of those obeying the rules? Is that the 'right' thing?

Don Bessee

So how did that work out for Jimmy Carter @ 1155? " What is best for humanity and the planet" Now that's funny were it not the core truth that they don't care about America. I could care less how we win over china, iran, Russia and NK just as long as we do win in the end.

,,,yes Scotto,,, that is what I thought but George schooled me,,,now it is my go to site!!!

Fiddling while paris burns -

“Gender-neutral or gender-inclusive language is more than a matter of political correctness,” it states, adding: “Language powerfully reflects and influences attitudes, behaviour and perceptions” — a view seemingly underpinned by the same philosophical outlook as the fictional Newspeak Dictionary in George Orwell’s seminal book Nineteen Eighty-Four.

The Judges don't buy the po' ol' fakenewsmans liar in chief narrative -

"Speculation." "Unofficial information." "Political statements rather than assertions of pure fact."
Those are words federal judges have used to describe President Donald Trump’s tweets while guarding the secrecy of ongoing investigations that have shadowed his presidency.

And in an unusual twist, these rulings mark victories for Trump’s own Justice Department, which has argued repeatedly that the president’s comments on the probes are not always to be taken literally

For all the local ISIS and Muslim Jihai lovers. They videod their murder of the young girls from Europe. I bet that makes you proud and want to invite these killers here eh?>

Bonnie McGuire

It's so interesting how much there is to witness and learn if you pay attention. This reminder showed up today concerning the political pschycology what many of us witnessed (and went to war against)
last century replaying like a broken record in America now:
Jack Minzey, sent what was to be the final chapter in the long line of books and treatises which he had written before he passed away on Sunday, 8 April 2018.

Professionally, Jack was head of the Department of Education at Eastern Michigan University as well as a prolific author of numerous books, most of which were on the topic of Education and the Government role therein. His interest in Conservative Politics was exceeded only by his intellectual ability.

This is the last of his works:

Civil War

How do civil wars happen?

Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can't settle the question through elections because they don't even agree that elections are how you decide who's in charge. That's the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country. When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war.

The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from office and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it's not the first time they've done this. The first time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn't really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There's a pattern here.

What do sure odds of the Democrats rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don't accept the results of any election that they don't win. It means they don't believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections.

That's a civil war.

There's no shooting. At least not unless you count the attempt to kill a bunch of Republicans at a charity baseball game practice. But the Democrats have rejected our system of government.

This isn't dissent. It's not disagreement. You can hate the other party. You can think they're the worst thing that ever happened to the country. But then you work harder to win the next election. When you consistently reject the results of elections that you don't win, what you want is a dictatorship.

Your very own dictatorship.

The only legitimate exercise of power in this country, according to Democrats, is its own. Whenever Republicans exercise power, it's inherently illegitimate. The Democrats lost Congress. They lost the White House. So what did they do? They began trying to run the country through Federal judges and bureaucrats. Every time that a Federal judge issues an order saying that the President of the United States can't scratch his own back without his say so, that's the civil war.

Our system of government is based on the constitution, but that's not the system that runs this country. The Democrat's system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country.

If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything And I mean anything. He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens. He can fine you for not having health insurance. His power is unlimited. He's a dictator.

But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can't do anything. He isn't even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented. A Democrat in the White House has 'discretion' to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn't even have the 'discretion' to reverse him. That's how the game is played That's how our country is run. Sad but true, although the left hasn't yet won that particular fight.

When a Democrat is in the White House, states aren't even allowed to enforce immigration law. But when a Republican is in the White House, states can create their own immigration laws. Under Obama, a state wasn't allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission. But under Trump, Jerry Brown can go around saying that California is an independent republic and sign treaties with other countries.

The Constitution has something to say about that.

Whether it's Federal or State, Executive, Legislative or Judiciary, the left moves power around to run the country. If it controls an institution, then that institution is suddenly the supreme power in the land. This is what I call a moving dictatorship.

Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding: Professional government is a guild. Like medieval guilds. You can't serve in if you're not a member. If you haven't been indoctrinated into its arcane rituals. If you aren't in the club. And Trump isn't in the club. He brought in a bunch of people who aren't in the club with him.

Now we're seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them. They spy on them, they investigate them and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down.

That's not a free country.

It's not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an 'insurance policy' against Trump winning the election. It's not a free country when Obama officials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It's not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him from social media. It's not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who wasn't supposed to win did.

Have no doubt, we're in a civil war between conservative volunteer government and a leftist Democrat professional government.

Bill Tozer

The draft of the state commission's report on the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting is out. Blame laid at the feet of Coward County Sheriff Israel AND the school.

Sun Sentinel: Here's Why We Now Agree With Republicans That Broward Sheriff Scott Israel Should Be Removed:

“Besides Peterson, seven other deputies also heard the gunfire and failed to pursue the shooter, as best practices would dictate. During interviews with investigators, several noted BSO policy says they could pursue a shooter, but don’t have to.

Israel should be mortified to know a team of Coral Springs police officers blew by his deputies and entered the building where Nikolas Cruz had unleashed hell. A Sunrise police officer who raced to the scene said a BSO deputy told him: “Don’t go in.”

Bill Tozer

My, my.
More on the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting from the left leaning Sun-Sentinel.

“Teachers need guns; schools need security, Parkland shooting panel concludes.”

George Rebane

RobertC 1155am - Thanks for coming back to your morality argument. Consider that the US has been and continues to be the most moral country this planet has ever seen. NO ONE, not ever, has given of itself so much, so often, to so many as has America. And yes, in the process we have had to do the best to look out for our interests in remaining a strong and effective bastion of liberty and poster child for the world so that they can see what is the art of the possible in governance. If we ever lose our pre-eminence as the world's white hat hegemon, then millions more will die, and even more millions will live out their abbreviated lives in squalid and brutish conditions. Our work in the world has contributed the most for the increase in literally every salutary statistic that describes the QoL of the world's people.

America is the shining beacon on the hill. And were it ever to be extinguished, there would be no one else to relight the torch for generations. I submit you don't know of which you speak when you hold up America as an immoral nation.

Bonnie McGuire

Yes George Rebane 7:01pm
If America stands up for its Constitution and the moral standards of the God that inspired it...we'll be okay. I'm reminded of what my beloved husband did once. He'd been in a very bad mood at the beginning one week. At the end of the week he came home all smiles and remarked that he might lose his job, but he was happy about what he did. Evidently the log scaler at a local lumber mile was cheating all the truckers and loggers. Finally Mel was fed up and did something. The truck that pulled up after him noticed the scaler laying on the ramp and asked him what happened. His reply was "McGuire nailed me!" Later the boss told Mel to come to him first, but do you think things would have ever changed for better if someone hadn't drawn attention to it?

Paul Emery

Does your "shining beacon on the hill" American torch that you descrribe include our illegal invasion of Iraq that took the lives of hundreds of thousands o civilians ? How about our support of Saudi Arabia in Yemen and the starvation and death of thousands of innocent women and children? Is this the work of God or the devil Bonnie?

Scott O

Our military did not target and kill 'hundreds of thousands' of civilians.
That is left wing BS. But Emery hates this country and wants to denigrate it every chance he gets while giving China and other countries a free pass.
The situation in Yemen is a mess - the US is not starving anyone.
Maybe Emery thinks we should start a war with the Saudis. But all he can do is throw rocks. Paul Emery has a rather peculiar moral compass. It seems to only find fault with people he doesn't like. Strains at the gnat and ignores the elephant.
Must be nice to hide in Nevada County and cherry pick little bits of bad stuff here and there at his whim. Paul wouldn't know evil if it came up to him and spit in his face,

George Rebane

PaulE 928pm - Unfortunately it does Paul, even though it was not we who killed the thousands of civilians in the war's aftermath. And it also includes Dresden, Hamburg, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, ... . We are not perfect, but we are the best that humanity has been able to cobble together on this planet.

Administrivia - I also call your kind attention to the 30dec18 addendum to the latest Scattershots.

Barry Pruett

Bonnie. Yes.

Todd Juvinall

The FUE thinks RR is similar to the bar scene in Star Wars. Could be. The RR posters are numerous and different and intelligent. The wasteland at the FUE blog makes me sad. He is so lonely to have anyone that he uses female sock puppets. What a hoot!
