George Rebane
The Republicans have an opportunity to implement a surefire plan to get their candidate re-elected in 2020, given that the Dems will run everyone and their cousin who understands how to spend OPM (that’s Other People’s Money for you independents and mid-roaders). And OPM is also the active ingredient of this ingenious plan.
- The RNC launches the ‘Fund a Socialist’ website that lists the current Dem presidential candidates, their website URLs, and the money they currently have in their election war chests.
- Trump supporters review the list on a regular basis, and, according to their lights, send a couple of the most egregiously leftwing radical and poorly funded candidates $5 each.
- Trump supporters repeat step #2 every month as the list inevitably prunes itself. This automatically strengthens the surviving radicals.
Say, a couple of million or so Trump supporters sign up for this plan and carry it out as long as the list still contains viable and voluble radicals, the loonier the better, or until the Democratic National Convention. The total cost for each participant will be about $200 give or take, and it would be money no better spent. That would shove about $400M plus into the shorts of second tier candidates seeking to out-left each other. Sweet.
Such inflows of small contributions to those hopeful socialists will keep the maximum number of them energized and fighting for slots in the upcoming debates, running in primaries, hogging air time, and doing everything they can to disrupt the orderly machine of Democrat elites trying to field an electable candidate. And all of these no-names coming out of the woodwork will be convinced by their millions of small donations that they really are riding the top of the new socialist tsunami sweeping the country.
Obvious priorities are Sen Bernie and Congresswoman AOC. Republicans must make sure that these two never lack for funds to make their message heard across the land. That’s important because some wiser heads in the DNC are already talking about running some more electable center-leftists against them in the primaries. ;-)
Be Careful of What You Support.
I was going to suggest the support of Howard Schultz could also be a winning strategy for Trump, but then I read this by Roger Simon at PJ Media
American politics is crazy these days and the craziest thing of all is that Starbucks founder Howard Schultz -- a Democrat possibly running as an independent -- could actually win the presidency.
Say what, you exclaim? Has Simon gone off the deep end, if he wasn't there already? Indie candidates never win. They're just spoilers.
Just as a reminder, I was one of the first to predict that Donald Trump would win -- second only to Scott Adams, according to American Thinker. That doesn't mean I will be right again. It's just worth pointing out.
And, yes, Trump himself is obviously anxious for Schultz to get into the race. Why else would the president have so quickly taunted the businessman in a tweet saying that he didn't have the "guts" to run? Trump was obviously goading Howard to get in because the conventional wisdom is that Schultz would split the Democratic vote, leading to the easy reelection of Donald.
Be careful what you wish for, as they say.
[. . . ]
Nevertheless, write Shultz off at your peril.
For the moment I agree. There are a lot of pissed off voters who are mad at both ineffective parties and given a viable solution Schultz could gain voters from both camps. How many voters will be determined by future events? Stay Tuned!

,,,all the above will not be necessary as long as a not-Republican runs as an independent.

None should confuse monetary support to maintain a candidacy with ultimately voting for the candidate. It is the composition of the ballot which is of interest here.

Let the socialists push back on this -
It is booming by nearly every meaningful measure, and the president has every right to take a large measure of credit for it.
In November, unemployment dropped to its lowest rate in a half century. African-Americans, Latinos and women are thriving. Black unemployment was at 5.9 percent in May, the lowest ever recorded. Women’s unemployment recently reached its lowest rate in 65 years.
ANDY PUZDER: PRESIDENT TRUMP DESERVES ALL THE CREDIT FOR OUR SOARING LABOR MARKET
And, no Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, it is not because people are working two jobs and a zillion hours a week. Employment statistics don’t work that way. It’s because more people have jobs. And more people are encouraged about their prospects of finding a job.
Labor force participation continues to rise because strong wage growth is causing Americans who were once too hopeless to even look for work to pour back into the job market. In fact, unemployment ticked up slightly to 3.9 percent (still historically very low) in December despite adding 312,000 jobs because nearly 100,000 formerly “discouraged workers” decided to start looking for jobs.
For good reason. America has created more than five million jobs since Trump entered office. And for the first time there are more job openings in America than there are unemployed people.
Industries that some said were dead and never coming back – like manufacturing – are booming. Manufacturing added 284,000 jobs in 2018, the most in a year for more than a decade.

1) Dr. Rebane. I like your (tongue in cheek?) plan, but A Occassional Cortex is currently too young to run. I can’t bring myself to send her money. Besides, she already makes $170,000 a year. Not bad for a girl raised in the weathly Heights in Queens...er..I mean not bad for a waitress from the Bronx. And I just can’t bring myself to send Pocahontas one red cent....for personal reasons. I may reconsider as events unfold.
2) Howard Shultz is a forminable foe. He has more intelligence that the rest of the Democrat Socialist candidates combined, by far. His biggest draw back is he is good at math, which is antithetical, repulsive, and nauseating to the Left. A huge drawback. Math bad and cannot co-exist with the Left. Feelings are real.

“Howard Schultz Did Not Leave His Party....the Democrat Party left him.” Hmm. I have heard that phrase a lot in in the last few years.

After 20 years in the Air Force, I hold a similar view. Those Department Heads did not write their presentations, they were written by the "Deep State" staffers left over from eight years of Obama. It will be Trump's second term before they are weeded out of the bureaucratic infrastructure. If the threat goes away, there will be force reductions and jobs lost. One thing bureaucracy does really well is job protection. Not much else, but they are really good at protecting their jobs, even they have to set their bosses up to get fired.

This whole thing is getting beyond weird! Now we have Trumps Press Secretary going on record stating that Trump is some kind of divine intervention by God.
Direct quote from Sarah Huckabee:
"White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told the Christian Broadcasting Network that she believes Donald Trump’s election was desired by God.
“I think God calls all of us to fill different roles at different times,” she told the religious broadcaster, “and I think that he wanted Donald Trump to become president.”

Honestly, I don't think that people much care. It'll only become noticeable when the bond market finally keels over. It isn't like any other empire managed to keep a currency going forever.
A trillion is the same as a billion is the same as 10 trillion.
It's kind of like how 5 billion for border defenses (or de fences) is an earth shatterin', country killin' kind of sum while 100 billion for the Fresno Flyer is A-OK. One large number is about the same as another.

"Can you place a finger on the date when Republicans dropped their claim as fiscal conservatives and champions of family values?"
I think that only some Republicans are particularly concerned about budgets. Although not all are Christians, I'd say that family values are a more common strain. Just an opinion. I will admit that Republicans appear to be less interested in funding of non-mandatory programs. People seem to love (or hate) a culture more than they worry about spending.
Medicare, for example, is largely a debt transfer from one generation to another, and I don't hear much about cutting it from anyone. In addition to it being an ever-increasing part of .gov expenditures, I imagine that it's artificially low payment structure to health providers pushes up the cost of health care to everyone else. (which is another reason why Medicare-for-all is a non-starter).

Getting frisky this evening boys? Momma has a headache....or did she say to you bedwetters, “Not tonight sweet pea, I have a Trump migraine.”
Come, let us reason together.
Two things, nay three.
1) The Tea Party folks and the conservatives went bonkers when Obama spent more money than all the Presidents combined up to that point. Doubled the debt. Trump signing off adding a trillion a year to the Congressial passed budget seems rather tame in comparison. Today it is called “continuing resolutions”, Senate don’t need to write no new stinkin’ budget, duh. Kick the can down Tobacco Road.
Balanced budgets or paying down the debt was not a major reoccurring campaign theme or high priority by either major pay in 2016, despite Huggin Bear’s quotes he dug up.
Watched a bunch of electrifing “blow the roof off the building” Trump rallies and balanced budgets (deficient spending) were throw away lines and not the main thrust, if mentioned in passing or at all.
What did My Gal say about the forgotten issue? I can’t hear you. No one makes it an issue except Rand Paul and that retired guy from Oklamhoma, Senator Tom Coburn with his Government wasteful spending Hall of Shame weekly lists that nobody read, save moi and a few. I miss Senator Tom.
Rand Paul cries out against deficient spending and a crazed far-left wingnut busted up his ribs. At least he didn’t take a bullet on the Congressional baseball field during practice from another far left crazied nutjob. Always a silver lining. That Freedom Caucus best watch their backs.
2). The ignorant sin the fakenews Hugging Bear News Director always erroneous commits is he never differentiates between conservatives and Republicans. Ann Coulter is a conservative. Mark Levin is a conservative first and foremost and vehemently disagrees with Trump on trade policies...and Mitch on constructional grounds concerning spending. Jeff Flake is not a conservative and neither was “Bomb, Bomb Iran” sacred cow McCain. Corker and the like are Repubicans or RHINOs.
Trump did not run as a conservative, but has delighted many conservatives with his surprisingly conservative leanings on some important issues. Some. I said before the wonderful election night results came in that with Trump you can get The Wall and single payer. Mixed bag. America First is close enough. Also I said if he could deliver on 2-3 on his top ten campaign promises and get them pushed through, I would be tickled pink.
Promise #1: We are going to beat Crooked Hillary and we are going to win, folks.” Then he got Neil on SCOUS, which is all folks like Gregory cared about, being a true libertarian and all. Now Trump is working on the Wall and his effort is Herculean, win or loose. Economy hasn’t gone down the crapper and is delightfully shooting up some of those Obama green spouts.
Trump is not a Republican or a conservative. He is the right tool at the time for right job. Nothing more, nothing less. Beat Hillary, crush PC, and sell American exceptionalism. “We have been getting screwed by other nations, folks.” Unfair. That chaps my hide.
3). Jesus came for the sick, not the well. And God uses flawed men to accomplish His purposes. Doubting Thomas, Christian hater and Christian slayer (the murderous zealot Saul Of Tarsus), King Cyrus, Perian Kings, Pharoh, and on and on it goes. Or maybe Trump is one of HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE!
Some say that Nostradamus has a spine-chilling prediction of the assassin of Trump in 2019. I report, you decide.
So, what does this all mean? Why do I support the God Emperor Trump? What is the meaning of all this? Glad you asked. Simple, but not always easy. Winning.
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women! ... their hairy armpit women.
