Can you give me a link to the cited poll in your 7:07. I cant find the specific poll you're referring to. Thanks

Gregory

Punchy, I was able to find it with one search. Think first... Russ quotes the piece... so take a unique sentence or fragment thereof and Google that ... with quotemarks.

It would be too easy to just give you the link to the story, or the links to the NPR/Marist poll it contains.

Paul Emery

I usually include links to m assertions Gregory. Why is that so hard for you to do?

No evidence seen but ran with the story anyway -

One of the BuzzFeed News reporters who broke the report that cited two anonymous sources claiming President Donald Trump directed Michael Cohen to intentionally lie to Congress appeared on CNN’s “New Day” Friday to discuss the bombshell.

Anthony Cormier shared that he had “not personally” seen the evidence to support his reporting, but said his sources had “access to a number of different documents.”

Bye Bye Trade War? China Plans $1 Trillion Buying Spree to Reduce US Trade Deficit

China has extended the olive branch back to the United States by offering a path to eliminate Washington’s burgeoning trade deficit with the country, Bloomberg reported Friday. The news comes less than a day after The Wall Street Journal reported that the Trump administration was considering lifting tariffs amid the ongoing trade war.
China Proposes Six-Year Buying Spree

Citing sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reported Friday that China has offered to significantly boost its purchase of U.S. goods over a six-year period in an effort to re-balance trade between the two superpowers. By increasing its annual imports from the United States, Beijing would reduce its trade surplus to zero by 2024. That would require a spending boost of more than $1 trillion.

OOPS: CHINA RAMPS UP COAL, PULLS PLUG ON SOLAR, WIND

China has backtracked on policies implemented to increase solar power, announcing it would not approve any wind and solar power projects unless they can compete with coal power plants strictly on the basis of price.

Under a plan announced in May 2018, the Chinese government had granted large solar power projects a per-kilowatt-hour (kWh) subsidy. The government is cancelling that subsidy for new projects immediately.

In addition to cost considerations, the government said the rapid expansion of wind and solar power had created logjams on the electric power grid, resulting in wasted electricity due to lack of capacity to transmit and distribute the rapidly fluctuating power. In 2017, capacity issues resulted in 12 percent of wind generation and 6 percent of solar electricity generated being wasted.

According to plans announced by China’s National Development and Reform Commission, no new solar and wind projects would be approved through the end of 2020. Any projects proposed beginning in 2021 will have to show they can beat the price of coal power and demonstrate the electric power grid can handle their output. The national government will allow local governments to continue to offer their own subsidies for wind and solar projects if they wish, as long as any projects they support meet the second condition. The national government also announced it would no longer provide support for local solar or wind manufacturing facilities.

Mueller's office disputes Buzzfeed story on Michael Cohen
Reuters 52 minutes ago

WASHINGTON, Jan 18 (Reuters) - U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office issued a statement late on Friday taking issue with a report in Buzzfeed that President Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen said Trump told him to lie to Congress.
“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller office, said in the statement. (Reporting by Eric Beech; Editing by Mohammad Zargham)

@ 6:37 pm

I see it different. First, why did Team Meuller wait until 7:30 pm EST to make the announcement after letting the story run for hours....letting it go from the story breaking in the media tools of the Deep State Race and straight to impeachment???

Because people where starting to call for a leak investigation. A serious felony leak investigation into Meuller’s team. The FBI would go in with a lie detector and ask questions. Not questions concerning only the Buzzfeed article, but questions such as “Have you ever talked to a news organization? Have you ever talked to the press? Did you feed someone information through a third party that talked to any new organization, ever? And they would watch that needle move. Meuller had to stop a leak investigation in its tracks, be it for these leaks or prior leaks. Not good to see members of the Special Counsel team carted away in handcuffs. That’s my take.

If you follow the timeline, Meuller was forced to make the denial statement (a rare occurrence) only after a leak investigation was called for. Coincidence? Otherwise the story would have run all weekend and we would have montages of popinjays spouting the same phrase “rises to the level of impeachable offense.”

Heck, I could, if so inclined, put together a montage of the Mouthpieces of the Deep State all saying the the Impeach word today....before the call for a investigation....any leak prior or recent, lol.

https://www.conservativereview.com/news/levin-find-who-the-criminals-are-in-mr-muellers-office/

Bill Tozet

Opps, I wrote to soon. Here is a montage of impeachment.

https://news.grabien.com/story-montage-media-was-already-calling-trump-impeachment-followin

Now, ask everyone on Meuller’s team (including clerks) “have you ever talked to this reporter? That reporter? Buzzfeed? NYT, ever in your life? When? CNN? Watch that needle on the polygraph machine and not say a word. :)

Tricky McClean

George, in the interest of fairness and balance, I’d like to give a hat tip to Trump and his administration with regard to the announcement of a second summit with N. Korea. Press Secretary Sanders was on point with her tough words coupled with rapprochement.

On the subject of impeachment—as someone who shouted from the rooftops demanding that scumbag Clinton resign so Gore could cement his election in 2000–I would encourage you and your fellow Retardicants to get Trumply and VP Pencil ✏️ to resign so that a solid conservative partisan is poised to take the electoral mantle in 2020.

On another note, a question for fish: are you a Russian agent? Yes or no.

Brandon Branson

I'm still waiting Don. 370 immigrants tunneled under a 28' wall of concrete, iron slats, and concertina wire. It was easier than walking 6 miles to do around it. It took 45 minutes. You say that is proof we need a wall? Amazing. How much higher do you want that wall?? Talk to me.

Don Bessee

How po' ol' fakenewsman of you @918!

Don Bessee

Am I the only one who noticed that 842 and 918 have the same device avatar, just sayin'.

;-)

Brandon Branson

Very convincing argument Don. You are one hell of a salesman! Again, how high do you want your wall?

George Rebane

BrandonB 918pm - had you bothered to check, then you'd have discovered "where an old model of border barrier rises about 12 feet from the sandy ground. The stretched agency only had three agents patrolling that 26-mile-long section of the border." ABC News. Now let's see if you can draw some cogent conclusions from this about increasing border security.

L

Any fence helps. The steel slat is pretty good and easily improved with things like concertina wire. Here, drone surveillance and border patrol mobile units will make things much easier for everyone on both sides of the border. The US border is what brings the cartels to N. Mexico. Close the border and they're out of business and at war with the Mexican government over who runs that place.

In more serious situations, I've seen much less impressive physical barriers that were impervious due to the addition of mines, machine gun posts, etc. In short, the border can easily be protected physically with a "wall". L

L

Start with slat guy, drones, patrol (obvious dirt road on our side, easily patrolled.
There went 90% of the problem. But as noted above, it's easily adjustable in response to developments in political and public opinion circles. Walls Work!@L

Brandon Branson

GR 9:56
Sounds like a lack of technology rather than the porosity of a wall. It was only 12 feet high and they still decided to go UNDER it! Will a 30 foot barrier dissuade them? How about 60 feet topped with broken glass and barking terriers? Maybe we should be discussing how deep the wall will go rather than how high. Or how thick. Maybe what color?

We can do better than a wall. Satellites can track a speeding vehicle and read the license plate. Most likely they can see the occupants through the windshield and identify them. You tell me we don't have the technology to observe humans plodding across the desert on foot? The wall is nothing but a symbol. An edifice to Trump and his followers.

L

Please tell me how you're going to tunnel under it under drone surveillance, gets to be a long tunnel real fast, and there's the old mining problem of tailings. Detection is simple using seismology and is easily deterred or destroyed. As noted above, the fence can be adjusted to meet local requirements, as it largely is now.

I live here, 30mi from the border.

L

Your second paragraph is everyday reality where I live. The border patrol agents are omnipresent in their green and white speeders, very unobtrusive, mostly latin or whatever I'm supposed to call them, swell guys you bump into in dollar stores and hog stands, Nicos... so yeah, there are lots of ways of getting the job done, but cost is important as well. Unless you're stupid enough to imagine that immigration numbers don't matter. End rant. L

"Yellow journalism and the yellow press are American terms for journalism and associated newspapers that present little or no legitimate well-researched news while instead using eye-catching headlines for increased sales. Techniques may include exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering, or sensationalism."
You can add "mainstream" media to that.

Don Bessee

It sure looks like the socialist left, you know the frischy set, are the real racist haters -

In recent days, Democratic National Committee and several high-profile progressive advocacy groups have pulled their support in response to Mallory’s defense of anti-semite and racist Nation of Islam head Louis Farrakhan in an interview with The View on Monday.

“I didn’t call him the greatest of all time because of his rhetoric. I called him the greatest of all time because of what he’s done in black communities,” the embattled organizer replied when asked about her describing Farrakhan as the “GOAT,” an acronym for the “Greatest of all Time.”

In a Friday opinion-editorial, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) announced that she can no longer support the Women’s March on Washington due to its leadership’s refusal to “repudiate anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry.”

Did Paul Emery get his training by Buzzfeed?

Don Bessee

The worm turns -

By using APA’s guidelines, Harvard University creates a set of different standards of behavior/sanctions/treatment for men and women. This is a violation of Title IX.

By using APA’s guidelines, Harvard University has adopted biased training materials which rely upon sex stereotypes. Title IX specifically prohibits such biased training materials.

By using APA’s guidelines, Harvard University creates a hostile environment against men.

By using APA’s guidelines, Harvard University discourages men from seeking counseling services. No reasonable male person would seek counseling at a clinic where his sexual identity is considered to be a form of mental illness (or a driving factor for mental illness). Such dissuasion is prohibited by Title IX.

Harvard University violates Title IX by endorsing an external agency(i.e., APA) which discriminates on the basis of sex in offering services.

Since moi is the only one to pick up on the Gillette commercial, I will venture forth undeterred. What the Gillette commercial inadvertently accomplished was the absolute need for fathers in our society. Men to teach their sons how to treat and respect women and girls. If there was ever an agrument for the patriarchy, the Gillette commercial is exhibit one.

The breakup of the nuclear family in our society is the source of many a societal ill. Where are the Dads to deliver the message characterized in the Gillette commercial?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=koPmuEyP3a0

I did not find the commercial controversial as some have, in and of itself. With that said, the Toxic Masculinity mantra by some SJWs and the ensuing War on Boys is indeed controversial, as well it should be.

Don Bessee

Just another socialist front group -

This new steering committee is made up of “32 women from a wide range of backgrounds...made up of visionary women -- cis and trans, straight and queer, disabled and non-disabled, white (not capitalized), Asian, and South Asian, Black, Latina, Arab, Indigenous, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Christian (all capitalized), spanning the ages of 24-70.”

Despite what appears to be an attempt to add “Jewish” to the list of identities the Women’s March now claims to represent, the statement does not address the substantive criticisms that have been made about anti-Semitism.

The first person and photo presented as part of the new steering committee is that of Abby Stein, described as follows:
“A Jewish educator, writer, speaker, and activist. She was born and raised in a Hasidic family of rabbinic descent; she is (among) the 10th generation of (descendants of the ) Baal Shem Tov -- founder of Hasidic Judaism...in 2012, she left the Hasidic world to explore different worldviews. In 2015, Abby came out as a woman of trans experience. Since coming out, she has been working to raise support and awareness for trans rights and those leaving Ultra-Orthodoxy.”
Thus, the first member of the steering committee is Jewish, but has left Judaism behind. And, she is trans. (In some circles, there is still controversy around whether being trans constitutes a feminist statement.)

The Republican Party I dead in Californium Walt. What do you plan to do about it?

Walt

A post of desperation Paul? Where do you get the idea I'm a miracle worker? Good GOD man. You can't put ANY blame on the Repubs for the ills of this state (of insanity).
So keep raising those taxes. What's another reg of two?
Tax and spend!! Now don't forget to "resist" the current FED gov. yet have your hand out begging for money.

But enjoy being part of the problem. Your ideals sure are not the solution.
At what point will you squeel "enough!" I have yet to find any exemption to regs and taxes for being a "good party member".
Your old. your days of being able to make that extra buck are over. The way things are going, the Soylant Green solution may be on the Gov.'s desk in the near future. The burdens on society (financially) those who have no real productive value,(yup, it all boils down to dollars and cents) Become chow for the next rung up in the societal food chain.( Gov. welfare food)
You become the next block of Gov. cheese.
Welcome to the real future of progressive Socialism.

Great weekend in Nevada County this weekend with the Wild and scenic Film Festival, now in it's 17th year, bringing thousands of visitors to our fair County. The streets are filled with intelligent and conscious guests from all over the country. The motels, restaurants and clubs are packed. Hats off to the South Yuba River Citizens League for this spectacular event that does our community proud. I am proud to have been on the first Board of Directors of SYRCL back in 1983 by grassroots activists determined to protect the South Yuba River from dams.

Walt

Can't stay on subject Paul? Memory problems again?

But keep it wild. Watch it burn.

Paul Emery thinks I care about the state of the R party in California. Well I really don't. I did my gig as the R leader in the 90's and I had majorities everywhere and that is the last of my efforts. All winners. But if one is truly in the hole it is Paul Emery, his party does not even register on the scale. Green Libertarians? Jeeze what a figgin loser you are Paul Emery. At least my party has some Assembly and Senate seats. You have zip. So get your ass off the couch and get to work to at least get on a ballot.

Wild and Scenic? Every cannabis freak from the west coast makes it here to toke with you and watch eco porn. Wow so fun.

Paul Emery

Green Libertarian is not a political party Todd. It is a philosophy. I am independent. It is an unfortunate reality that we have a two party system that makes it impossible for there to be more. I wish the Republicans could offer at least a reasonable alternative in California but alas they and impotent and virtually extinct. It's obviously because of Repubs like you that they are in the pits.

Todd, you say you had majorities everywhere in the 90's. Did you run for office in the 90's?

Todd are there any Conservative events in Nevada County that you know of that have such an impact as the Wild and Scenic Film Festival?

Don Bessee

Uh Oh! 3rd party from the left! Perhaps a actual green libertarian?

Her comments come on the heels of a Washington Post report earlier this week saying that Schultz's advisers have been exploring the possibility of an independent candidacy for the White House.

The 90's were great. I whipped you and VanZant in the Weir v Grattan. Had Christine Foster appointed by Wilson. Won numerous city and special districts. I was elected twice to the CC and then elected Chairman. Started CABPRO and kicked your ass many times. I did lose the Assessor race after making the top two. But that winner resigned for corruption after a few months. You supported him.

Conservative events happen all the time. You need to get off the "SYRCL" newsletter from time to time and smell the roses.

Todd Juvinall

Oh and you always have excuses for your political failures. A "movement" not a party? The only movement is your bowels.

Walt

Just green LIB. Libertarians lean plenty Right.
A trait the Paul doesn't possess. Another identity crisis of Paul's.

Paul Emery

Oh yeah Christine Foster. Van Zant defeated by 7% in the election in '96. She was never elected. Thanks for bringing that up. What Conservative events have drawn thousands to Nevada county Todd?

L

Todd, Paul... Could you take your personal feud elsewhere? It really stinks up the site. Thanks. L

I personally lobbied the Governor for Christine and guess what? She was appointed to fill the term of Dave. Your ilk was trying hard to get a lib appointed nut I defeated you single handed.

The coneservatives have gatherings all the time. You should go, maybe the world is better than you think.

"L", bite me.

7:02- "Conservative events happen all the time."

Pretty sure I missed those. Name some conservative events that bring anywhere near the numbers of people and dollars to Nevada County that SYRCL's Wild and Scenic film festival does. Okay, name one. How about half of one?

An interesting statistic I learned from a spokesperson from the National Park Service today at the film festival - 85% of National Park users are self described liberals. Why do you people hate nature and seek to destroy it (especially if you can make a buck in the process)? I know even the term Wild and Scenic is anathema to you. I think it boils down to greed. It is sad, really. It must suck to be you.

Todd Juvinall

Fourth of July Parade, Constitution Day Parade come to mind. It seems you can get liberals to the street corners to protest anything but those darn conservatives are at work and can't seem to get to them, so perhaps the lefty unemployed do congregate in larger numbers more often.

Hmmmmm? “Brandon Branson”, “Len Litchfield”

What......no “Peter Parker” or “Otto Octavious”? No “Lex Luther”? No “Sue Storm”?

Stan Lee just died....is this any way to honor his memory!?

Walt

Fish. My money is on deal ol' "jon".

Walt

Proggys are now using "if it's true" as cover to make any accusation they like. " what? US rush to judgment? OH no... WE said "if"..."
