Looks like the new sock puppet Branson Brandon is invading these spaces. Spreading his FakeNews.

I am laughing my ass off that Todd thinks that 4th of July and celebrating the Constitution are "conservative" events.

Todd Juvinall

San Antonio which contains the walled ibn Alamo was used as an example of a place protected with a wall. And Brandon B here gets his panties all bunched up for some reason. The left is truly nutty!

Todd Juvinall

That why I said it. You just got spanked.

Friggin litterbugs. I hate litterbugs. They care nothing about our environment. They are a lawless bunch that should rot in jail.

"The Defendants did not get an access permit, they did not remain on the designated roads, and they left water, food, and crates in the Refuge. All of this, in addition to violating the law, erodes the national decision to maintain the Refuge in its pristine nature," U.S. Magistrate Judge Bernardo Velasco wrote in his three-page order posted online Friday afternoon.

LL 941pm

93.7% of all statistics cited in blogs are made up, including this 85% of National Park users being self described liberals cited by LL.

The name of the "spokesperson from the National Park Service" was not cited.

Litterbugs. The assholes have no problem carrying food and freebies they are given into the woods, but they have an inversion to carrying their crap out. When is our LE going to cite these scum for littering? Screw those trash spewing environment hating bums.

We could learn from Placer County. They site the puke buckets for littering.

Mamula does not have any recent criminal cases in Nevada County, but court records show a drug offense in 2017, as well as camping and littering offenses in 2018, in Placer County.

Steve- Of course, Todd is an American Patriot and anyone who doesn't follow lockstep in his personal views is a nazi and not eligible to participate in National days of celebration. I almost spit up my coffee when I read that the Fourth of July was a conservative celebration!!!

Bill Tozer

How do you pay for it? Blonde ambition?

“Conservative pundit Ann Coulter once made a controversial claim that “single women look at the government as their husbands,” expecting the government to provide for their every need. Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal naivete provides unfair validation for that statement. Instead of using her massive platform to make nuanced, well-reasoned arguments for taxing the rich and expanding the national debt, her current track record indicates that she’s interested in neither.

All of the cringeworthy media interviews and high-profile errors she’s been so flippant about making will only cause more difficulty for young women to get elected to high office in the future. Her incompetence only cements the idea that a pretty, likable woman is one who, unfortunately, lacks a brain.“

It the idea of a General Strike that is starting to resonate that I'm referring to not the specific source. As far as the credibility of Salon as a news source it is at least as credible as Breitbart or Hannity to name a couple of the Right Wing commonly used "sources".

Brandon Branson | 20 January 2019 at 11:26 AM

I wrote that as a joke but now I see it is actually true. We conservatives celebrate the Constitution and you lefties want to change it and make it something else. So yes, those days are days of conservative celebration. You and Frisch can have your "mayday" and Lenin birthday events all to yourselves.

An American Patriot would not talk and write against the things that make our country great as you loons of the left do.

George Rebane

ToddJ brings up an interesting point, whether you agree with his specifics or not. According to ample liberal media (print, broadcast, blogs, …) there definitely are ‘holidays’ – secular and religious – that are distinctly favored asymmetrically depending on your ideology. Googling the topic provides ample evidence. Conservatives, for example, are more prone to observe religious, patriotic, and historical (traditional) holidays. And liberals are obviously more observant of the socio-political holidays such those celebrating labor, ethnic identities, Cesar Chavez, MLK, May Day, Cinco de Mayo, Labor Day, and Indigenous People’s Day (instead of Columbus Day). Even a semi-religious (semi-secular?) holiday like Thanksgiving is now beginning to be eschewed by the Left because of its Pilgrim heritage. Christmas has long been dunned by the secular humanist Left. And from years’ long observances of events like 4th July, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, it doesn’t take rocket science to figure out the political affiliation of the residences and businesses that fly flags, buntings, …, and who attends the convocations to observe the holidays. Parades and fireworks are more iffy to argue since they provide entertainment and expression (e.g. political party and activist floats) for people of all persuasions. But attend, say, a Veterans Day convocation, and you’ll have trouble finding a liberal save some old codger in his American Legion cap who served overseas in the long distant past and is now a liberal. Bottom line, to argue that the Right and Left observe all of our holidays with equal enthusiasm, seems to me, as something people do who haven’t been paying attention or serve another agenda. Just a thought.

Paul Emery

George

I'm referring more to cultural events and their effects on the economy. SYRCL with their advocacy for Wild and Scenic status for the South Yuba River and their organized support for the South Yuba River State Park as well as their Wild and Scenic Film Festival in a very slow time of year-mid January make a huge impact on the local economy. Can you list an equivilant organization from the Conservative perspective that makes such an impact?

Todd Juvinall

Having attended many Memorial Day events, parades and other community gatherings I have to say the left only shows up to complain and whine while the conservatives are there to say thanks. Recall LaMalfa coming here after the Trump election. The left turns out all those freeloaders to scream and shout their "wants" while we conservatives were there to thank LaMalfa for his help of the district. And the gatherings on the overpasses here. All the loons of the left are there with their whining and screaming while we on the right were there to support America.

Paul Emery

Todd

Do you acknowledge the benefits to our economy of the Wild and Scenic Film Festival and the South Yuba River State Park?

Gregory

Punchy, would you comment on the claim of 'LL' that an official spokesperson from the National Park Service stated at a Wild and Scenic venue that 85% of National Park visitors are self described "liberals"?

Paul Emery

Could be Gregory. Why is it important? They add to the economy don't they?

Paul Emery

There are 700,000 visitors to the Park annually Gregory. That's quite an impact on our economy.

Gregory

Here's a contrary word on the issue that is a bug up the FUE's butt today... I'm shocked, shocked that it was selective editing that is driving the outrage du jour.

Wow... two non sequiturs from Punchy.

First, it was a claim that a National Park Service spokesperson made a general claim about visitors to National Parks, not the South Yuba *state* park.

And I sincerely doubt there are 700,000 visitors to "the Park" annually.

Don Bessee

While ABC did share the video proving Phillips was the instigator, it obviously pained the network to give the MAGA students the benefit. “But on this Martin Luther King weekend, the youngest daughter of the civil rights icon tweeting, ‘this is ugly, America. Truth, education and corrective action matter,’” Reshef added before playing a “tear-filled plea for a teachable moment” from Phillips.

“One Native American man who was there tells the Associated Press that he initially thought this could spiral out of control, there would be a mob mentality,” she continued, “but some of those students actually joining the Native American men and women that were singing there, and it ended up defusing peacefully. That's what we don't see in some of the video.”

Let us hope so. The Bible, the same one liberals are waving lately, says Christians, and Catholics, are the light of the world and are to place their light, not under a bushel, but on a night stand where the light can lead all to the ultimate truth. It is unlikely Feinstein would tell a Muslim nominee, “The Sharia dogma lives loudly within you.”

Note the use of the word “dogma” in a pejorative sense, as if the Catholic Church was a cult like the Druids chanting around a fire waiting for the human sacrifice to arrive. In fact, Barrett has in fact been slandered as a member of a cult which is in fact a legitimate Catholic faith group:

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/12/the_democrats_anticatholic_bigotry.html#ixzz5dBaZOwnA

And Imain’t even Catholic.

Paul Emery

From Nevada Counties website

Nevada County has been facilitating a multi-agency Yuba River Safety Cohort group to take steps towards keeping the South Yuba River’s approximate 700,000 annual visitors safe while enjoying the Yuba’s natural beauty and recreation opportunities

https://mynevadacounty.com/CivicSend/ViewMessage/message?id=60303

Gregory

Paul, where did the number come from?

Todd Juvinall

700,000? No that was a made up number back in the4 90's from SYRCL. I knowe of no actual count but if there is one and it is legitimate I will accept it. I recall the SYRCL jerks told us there would be this wonderful input to the local economy with the visitors to WandS but the truth was the visitors brought their own food and drink and filled up their gas tanks in other places.

Walt

Nothing "scenic" about brush choked canyons. Just one dope roach not snuffed out, can level Nevada City. "Paradise II" is just waiting to happen. Not a matter of "if", but "when".

Our ECO nuts love to sing the praises of Malakoff state park.
"OH the BEAUTY!!" yet condemn those "who made it that way".(ya. The miners)
A word comes to mind. "Twofaced".

As for the 4TH, Which side of the fence is first to bitch about the noise? ECO nuts went blind with rage because bits of cardboard and flecks of paper were found in water on the 5TH. "YOU MUST END FIREWORKS!! THEY ARE NOT ECO FRIENDLY!!!"
OK ECO nuts,, did you get the memo? A collective "F" YOU, the horse you rode in on, and the dog that followed.
Didn't the Proggys demand an end to the civil war re-enactments in Nevada City? (a patriotic event) The cannon fire scared the dogs.

Todd Juvinall

I recall a trick played by the left when I was a Supervisor regarding numbers in budgets or benefits. They would come testify and use a made up number and the lazy ass press would just accept it without research. And then when published the same people that planted the phony number would put it into their propaganda and cite the paper. What a scam. They do it with "global warming" as well.

Paul Emery

Why don't you ask the County that Gregory. They use it all the time when referring to the economic impact of the State Park. Show me evidence it's wrong.

Walt

"South Yuba River’s approximate 700,000 annual visitors "
"Nevada County’s historic Bridgeport Covered Bridge welcomes approximately 700,000 California State Parks visitor"

Now if I use LIB math,, that's 1.4 million visitors.

Gregory

Paul, where did the number come from?

Paul Emery

Todd writes:

"700,000? No that was a made up number back in the4 90's from SYRCL. "

That memo was written by Nevada County CEO Rick Haffey in 2017. Are you saying he made it up?

Todd Juvinall

He is using the phony numbers the SYRCL jerks spewed in the 90's. He just parroted it. Can't you read?

Don Bessee

Show me evidence its wrong wails the pony tail of ignorance because he knows that there is no google search with evidence to support his boast. The County web site has no such numbers either.

There is no evidence to prove wrong as usual.

;-)

Todd Juvinall

Looks like the FUE and Frisch and Willer and that babe Lowry are crting about their brownshirts not getting respect.

Paul Emery

Show me proof it was made up in the 90's Todd. That was over 20 years ago.

Don Bessee

The onus is on you ya po' ol' fakenewsman, its your claim to defend and PROVE.

;-)

Walt

It really sucks when a video of the WHOLE confrontation shows up.
And it shows the opposite of what Proggy news is trying to push.

Paul Emery

So Don you do not accept a statement from Nevada Counties CEO Rick Haffey about the use of the South Yuba State Park.

Walt

Paul needs to explain why, from his own post, that "700,000" got used more than once for different places.
Now do the Yuba County riff raff that shows up to swim and trash the place count as paying "visitors"?

I can't find any "hard" proof of a "visiting" body count.
The usual gang playing fast and lose with arbitrary numbers.

Todd Juvinall

I attended and spoke against the SYRCL jerks at every hearing and recall it well. I suggest you do your journalism and go read their testimony. I am as usual, correct and you are not.

Gregory

Seven hundred thousand visitors is 1918 visitors a day, 365 days a year.

But if we think it's weekends, that would be limited to 104 days a year, or 6731 people on average on weekends.

If it's weekends in the summer months, that would be a crowding in just 26 days a year... of 27 thousand people, or a really big chunk of Nevada County, a sea of pasty white flesh.

So, when are all those people there? Yes, in heat waves in the summer it seems like all of Grass Valley are in the water by the bridge but it isn't so.

Paul Emery

Show me a credible source that disputes these numbers Gregory.

Walt

Sometimes you gotta love numbers guys. Gregory shot Paul's numbers down like clay pigeons.
In other words Paul,, it's statistically impossible.
Not to mention,, PARKING!
Tell us Paul,, how many parking spots are on the HY49 Yuba crossing?
There is room for about 150 cars at Bridgeport. (legally parked)
That I DO know. ( the kind of info when you give a bid to pave )

Gregory

Will someone please look in on Paul Emery... his head may have exploded.

Don Bessee

I don't accept the memory of a po' ol' fakenewsman, provide a link to that, I already looked on the county website archives. No such thing there. Give it up and let someone else use your device, that at least can be funny.

;-)

Todd Juvinall

Paul can't produce any proof for his phony number. I recall that was debited at length at the Supervisor meeting and the SAYRCL jerks said just trust us. Well, of course, they never did a true count and it is all BS. Gregory has it correct and just look at all that trash those wonderful out of towners leave at out once a wonderful river.

Kind of like the General Plan number of he RQC. Oh my 155,000 people may live here in 2010. Well just more BS from the lefty loons/.

Gregory

If the economic justifications that pencil out at 700,000 visitors year...

How many pencil out at 70,000 per year? at 7,000 per year?

Paul Emery

You guys lie like your hero Trump. what a hoot. It was a number presented by Haffey if you would have followed my provided link.

Don Bessee

G@ 234, 250 - There is a report on the scanner of a smoldering pony tail at the gold rush.

;-)

Paul Emery

Meanwhile Nevada City is booming this weekdue to the efforts of our wonderful South Yuba River Citizens League. Great going.

Todd Juvinall

Haffey used the phony SYRCL jerk number. Paul Emery fell for it. Fake numbers.

Todd Juvinall

Yeah every leftwing econut is there smoking their ganga . A MJ nirvana like Woodstock. What a hoot!

scenes

Gregory@2:34PM

lol. Exactly. I've always been surprised how poor people are at quickly checking a statistic for BS content. I suppose that a big number is simply a big number. You might as well say 70,000,000.

Paul, just accept that it's probably an exaggeration. It's OK, I'm not upset and don't think less of Haffey (if that's indeed the source) for it.

You have to admit that the Yuba is a brilliant thing to build a profitable non-profit around. It's probably less a slam dunk than cute dogs who need homes, but requires less in the way of results or facilities.

Gregory

Here's a link
https://www.theunion.com/news/syrcl-celebrates-opening-day-at-the-south-yuba-river-over-memorial-weekend/

A whole 120 people were greeted by SYRCL "ambassadors" opening day last year. Let's round it up to 200 to account for folks who were avoiding them.

Twenty six weekend days in the summer season... would make it 26 times 200... 5200 people per year. This is beginning to look more rational, don't you think?

Todd Juvinall

I think Gregory has it right. Haffey used the phony SYRCL number they used to boost their stance during the hearings. Of course, the Board defeated them (I had a little to do with that) so Izzy had her pal from the Bay Area take it up and not one official from here or the District supported it. But her subterfuge won the day. Now she is a $100,000 a year CEO like Frisch. All non-profits. What a joke.

Walt

It's obvious Paul flunked math. ( graduated with that LIB "new" math?) The parking problem alone shoots his numbers all to hell.(he got from someone else, GOD knows when, who got them from who the "F" knows.)

Pretty much "Bigfoot" of the car world.

Paul Emery

One thing for sure former Supervisor Hank Weston was a big supporter of he Park. Here's a quote from 2012. State Parks District Superintendent has a quote on his estimate of attendance. It's grown since then.

“This is a quid pro quo situation,” Weston said. “I basically told the state if you want us to help you, you need to take the parks off the closure list.”

California State Parks District Superintendent Matt Green said he was receptive to the plan.

“I believe this makes the running of the park more sustainable,” he said. “We needed to find some way to extend our fee base to pay for the high cost of staffing.”

Green said more than 450,000 people visited South Yuba State Park last calendar year."

https://www.theunion.com/news/local-news/supes-playing-hardball-with-state-parks/

Don Bessee

So you admit you have no proof to support 700K.

;-)

Paul Emery

More than 450,000 7 years ago from the Parks District Superintendent. What does that mean to you Don?

Gregory

Poof! Two hundred and fifty thousand disappeared from the number quoted by Superintendent Green over the number cited by rote, 700k.

I'd still expect Green's number, 450K, to be inflated.

Don Bessee

It means you can not substantiate your memory of Haffey saying 700k, that's what it means to everyone.

;-)

Walt

Paul. Did you fail math? YES or NO
How many cars would that take? (Even @ 4 max. occupancy. But count on two, maybe three at best)
How long would they stay there before the next car could park?

It's time you show your math.
There is only 365 days in a year. Make that "700,000" believable.

Walt

Buzzedfeed still won't confess.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/buzzfeed-reporter-after-rebuke-by-mueller-declines-to-explain-discrepancies-we-cant-get-into-like-the-details-there
""We can't get into, like, the details there," Cormier, sitting next to BuzzFeed News Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith, told CNN's "Reliable Sources" host Brian Stelter. "We really can't go any further at all, in order not to jeopardize our sources." "

In an interview on Friday, Cormier told CNN, “No, I’ve not seen it personally,” when asked if he had seen the documents mentioned in the story -- including "internal company emails, text messages, and a cache of other documents" -- that purportedly showed Trump told Cohen to lie.

Cormier only claimed that the two sources he cited were “fully, 100 percent read-in to that aspect of the special counsel’s investigation.”

I have it on good authority the GOV. have living space aliens at Aria 51.
Proof? I don't need no stink'n proof.

Paul Emery

Not a "memory" of Haffey saying 700K it
1s a quote. Did you follow the link I provided Walt?

Brandon Branson

Walt, Todd and Don- I'll admit I have no idea how many people use the Park (and I don't particularly care), but I do know every 5 years the state parks publishes a very detailed (and yes they include estimates if they don't have a direct count method such as entrance fees) spreadsheet on their Parks. Why don't you take the 5 minutes to Google the latest stat instead of calling people liars based on your hunch? I am flabbergasted that a County Supervisor is unaware of such a publication and that he admittedly didn't bother referring to it when he was an elected official.

Todd Juvinall

If it is so available why did you not supply the link?

Walt

So you admit you can't make the math work Paul? Not even close to probability? You believe any unsubstantiated figure thrown out?
You have a long track record of falling for unsubstantiated statements. Now is no different. A county sales pitch web site is far from factual stats.

You took the Buzzedfeed story hook, line, and sinker. (then hid till the heat was off. Then changed the subject.)

Your backing the stated number, show the evidence.

Walt

WOW Brandon, You say it exists, yet won't produce it.
"WE" are to go looking for it? Sorry, it don't work that way.

Can you make the math work? So how many should have made the "visit" today?

Todd Juvinall

OK I went searching for the stats on visitors of the So Yuba State Park. Guess what? Nada. But I recollect that when the SYRCL jerks were
lobbying the Supes they had a guy with a counter go to the six or seven areas where cars could park and he clicked away. The number was a couple of hundred people on a Saturday and a Sunday in the summer. Those brilliant people then extrapolated it in a way to inflate the numbers. The local Supes did not buy it and neither did our Assemblyman, State Senator and Wally Herger.

Walt

I KNOW how they/he/ whothehellever,, came up with that chest thumping number.(Now why I didn't think of it sooner,,,)
You know those hoses the roads dept puts out you run over now and then? They count cars. So they put those out on HY49 on at the park property line. So each car, whether it stops at the river or not, is counted as a "visit".
So all those extra dope runs from the ridge to Nevada City gets counted as a "state park visit".
That's "Government math" at work.
That's how you count to "700,000". " See? we have the trip counters to prove it!"

Todd Juvinall

Since the park does not keep track there are no stats to find. All guesses.

Gregory

OK, with a few hours for information to bubble up... it's quite evident that the old wise native American with a drum made a beeline towards the kid wearing the MAGA hat intent upon harassing the kid... who didn't budge.

As long as they aren't receiving government grants, I'm down with it.

"So you admit you can't make the math work Paul?"

To be fair, he's probably just repeating something he's heard from somebody who heard it from somebody who read a state report.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if some dogsbody at the state cooked up a 700k number, but that seems vastly overestimated.

scenes

"it's quite evident that the old wise native American with a drum "

In modern day parlance, all indigenous Americans over the age of 50 are referred to as 'elders' or 'tribal elders', although they are no doubt 'old' and 'wise'.

For everyone else, worth a read.

Watched the video and it was evident that there was no disrespect or screaming at the chief. The young teen with the MAGA hat simply stood there and had no expression on his face. He did not move or do any aggressive at all. I did see a young black kid make a mocking move. But to characterize this as Peeline etal did is over the top. Peeline even wants people to write the school and complain. All I can say is no one was murdered like the five cops at a Black Lives Matter event. The left is always making stuff up. Fake News Pelline etal. White liberals and their guilt.

Brandon Branson

Todd 5:31. Can you read? I wrote "I don't care". Why would I bother to sleuth stats for your team of Nazi hunters. But because you are so thick here is a report from the State. Don't ask me if it is accurate, the most up to date, whatever. YOU are the guy who crows about being a government supervisor but you don't have the wits to even know these exist??? Here is the news report on the kerfuffle by the libs.

"The new footage reveals that the Native American man, Nathan Phillips, approached the students with his drum and beat it in their faces."

Now Brandon, did you read that report? I bet you did not. But if you did you would be unable to find attendance numbers. But hey, you are a moron and there is no help for you.

But if you can find those attendance numbers let me know and I will certainly take back my calling you a moron.

Walt

Well Brandon, if "you really don't care",, then why in hell stick your nose in? You had less than nothing to offer.
So you just pulled a "buzzedfeed". Be proud of that.

“This whole story just exposes the left for the lying, cry-bullying, vindictive, shrill, ugly hate machine it is.

What is clear from the unedited footage of the event is that the boys did little wrong. Sure, they might have chanted boisterously, even rudely, but they are kids, and they were provoked.”

The Leftinista Media Superpac is the enemy of the people. Shawn King again? Too funny, too predicable, too wrong.

Walt

Someone give Nevada City some simple advice.
Go buy your own goats. 30 grand to "rent" them?( The goat herder found someone else that's stump broke)
Head to the Roseville auction yard. You should have PLENTY of city
volunteers to run roughshod over the new city employees.
So the mountain lion gets one now and then.. Just acceptable losses.

Paul Emery

How do you know they don't keep track Todd? Do you know that or is it a guess. Of course they keep track of usage, I can't imagine them not doing so.

Paul Emery

Did you at all follow my links Scenes?

Walt

HEY! Paul can be the city goat man! You just might be needing the job. Someone will have to get axed when the grant check bounces.
Just keep them out of the rose gardens and Granny's MMJ patch.

OH.. And be sure to identify and hold sacred any and all endangered plants the goats would love to eat. You will be fined for any losses.(just some words of encouragement.)

Todd Juvinall

Well Paul Emery, go get those links you say exist and show us.

Paul Emery

They are all in my posts Todd. Check them out and get back to me.

Paul Emery

To get you started here's an easy one from Haffey and the County

County has been facilitating a multi-agency Yuba River Safety Cohort group to take steps towards keeping the South Yuba River’s approximate 700,000 annual visitors safe while enjoying the Yuba’s natural beauty and recreation opportunities.
