Who will fill Kavaugh’s seat?

“It is dangerous to imply, as Booker did, that any American who holds an orthodox view of marriage cannot hold public office—views held, for millennia, by adherents to the Abrahamic faiths. Worse still, Rao is certainly not the first judicial nominee to face such inappropriate lines of questioning during a confirmation hearing. Such interrogation has become a rite of passage for nominees with documented religious or conservative opinions.”

Democrats often accuse President Trump of being anti-women, anti-immigrant, and anti-gay, all while boasting their big tent approach for embracing all races, sexes, and sexual orientations. To show their commitment to diversity and inclusion, Democrats are often at the forefront of enforcing sex- and race-based quotas, from supporting affirmative action in college admissions to mandating quotas inside corporate boardrooms.

Yet when they confront minorities who disagree with their political rhetoric or ideas, many Democrats not only throw their effort at achieving diversity and inclusion out of the window, but also actively engage in despicable activities to prevent these minorities from advancing in life. The most obvious and recent example is how the Democrats are treating minority judicial nominees of President Trump.

Humanity will never be free of the scourge of itself. And how could it be? As long as we walk the earth, we will commit violence against one another. Let’s not back ourselves into a corner of whimsy where we believe, for some odd, wishful reason, that women ought not take precautions for their own safety, or that doing so furthers their victimization. It doesn’t.

Gee I wonder what the reaction in if you switched out white with any number of colors?

An op-ed was published in Yale University’s student newspaper on Thursday, suggesting that students collect and store evidence on white male classmates, so that it can be used to ruin political careers in the future.

“I’m watching you, white boy,” says author Isis Davis-Marks in an op-ed published in the Yale Daily News, who claims that she will save any evidence that she finds of white male classmates behaving badly — even if it’s “unintentional” — just in case she needs it to end a political career in the future.

“Everyone knows a white boy with shiny brown hair and a saccharine smile that conceals his great ambitions,” explains Davis-Marks in her op-ed, claiming that one day, she will turn on CNN to see that the “white boy” has become a “white man” sitting at his “Senate confirmation hearing.”

A little good news from the Syrian front -

Russia is confronting Iran in Syria for two reasons. First, there is the Israeli-US pressure and the insistence that Iran has no place in Syria. Second, there is the fact that Russia does not now need Iran since the fighting in Syria is almost over.

Only one rebel stronghold remains in the Syrian province of Idlib held by an al Qaeda-linked group, which now controls more territory than any other opposition or terrorist group.
On Wednesday, an anonymous Syrian official told the Iraqi Kurdish media outlet Bas News that the Russian military recently “blew up” targets held by Iranian militias, marking “the first time the Russians attacked Iranian targets in Syria,” the Jerusalem Post reported, echoing other outlets.
Reporting from inside Syria, Ahram Online also highlighted recent clashes between Assad’s allies Iran and Russia in Syria.

“Military disagreements are erupting between Russia and Iran in Syria, including indirect clashes that could mark the end of their tactical alliance,” the news outlet revealed on Friday, adding:
Battles have broken out using heavy weapons between Russian-backed militias and Iranian-backed groups in Syria amid disputes over areas of influence, with fighters on both sides being killed in battles. … Russia succeeded in loosening the grip of the pro-Iran forces and attempted to end the fighting before it spread without dismantling all the pro-Iran forces and expelling them from the area.

Ahram identified the soldiers involved in the fight as members of regime military divisions backed by Russia and the Iran-allied Syrian Republican Guard.
“Both sides brought in military reinforcements in preparation for future more extensive battles,” Ahram warned.

You may have heard an increasing number of people vow to reduce their meat eating lately - or cut it out altogether.
This often forms part of a bid to become healthier, reduce their environmental impact, or consider animal welfare.

Well, boyz and fine lady, it’s been another eventful week here in God’s country. We had a SOTUS that pissed off Bernie as well as a bunch of independent women who were told what to wear (white), when to stand, and when to sit. That was immediately followed by the launching of the Green New Deal that needed no wordy thoughtful rebuttal as the punch lines see, to write themselves. All through this was the undercurrent of some embarrassing revelations of the top 3 Dems running Virginia.

Personally, I felt the Gov and the Virginia AG would both have to go since their crimes were mirrors of each other and in the same timeframes. So, if one stayed the other would stay. Now it looks like they are going to toss the black guy as the sacrificial lamb to the wolves. The silver lining is that some Dems are now saying that maybe they were too quick on the draw to flush Stuart Smiley and maybe it might be better to take a deep breath and do the ole “innocent until proven guilty” thang...or at least wait a beat before the Screeching Banshies scream “I believe her! If the crime could have happened, then it did happen!”
Nah, just joking. Throw the black dude out and keep the Gov and AG. Politics trumps race which trumps gender which trumps..... As Vince Lombardi said, “Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.” Virginia is too important to lose to the R’s in 2020 because of a silly costume done in good fun and for yucks and giggles. Let it all hang out.
Maybe the Dems will keep all three and let bygones be bygones. Interesting that they always referred to the white accuser of Kavanaugh as Dr. Ford and the black accuser (who also is a Dr.) of Lord Fairfax’s spawn as the “accuser.” Heck, Dr. Squeaky Ford did not even know how to contact her Senator’s office and the Dr. accuser is called a bioch. Go figure.
Oh, lest we forget, we started the week off yapping about some white dude with no political experience who used to run Starbucks and boy was the media pissed. Exciting times, bro-in-laws, exciting times. And the half-time show sucked...like the Rams. One Benjamin lighter. :)

The line to become a stukach forms to the Left.

Bill Tozer

Don @ 6:43 pm. Islam good, Christianity bad, Judaism very very bad.

Well, Christianity has been under attack for a long time by the secularists. Nothing new with that. To their credit, the Left has kept their anti-Christian bias in check all in all, through the years. Mostly only openly mocked Christianity in classrooms (including our local Sierra College for a decade or so) and some outbursts by Lefty pundits here and there, but kept it under control in the US, all things considered. The Leftinistas in Europe has succeeded in killing Christianity there, but they have been working on it longer and harder. Religion has always been the number one or two threat to statists and relative morality. Post Enlightenment stuff, post modern man.

Anyway, when the Muslim migration north and west unfolded in the last few years, the attacks in Christianity is coming out in the open. Drives the Far Left nuts. Suddenly Islam got elevated to the good religion. and Judaism and Christianity went from bad to very bad.

You don’t hear about attacks of Muslim private schools in the USA for teaching their beliefs, do ya? Nope.

“This is not the first time the Pences have come under attack for their faith. The vice president became an object of ridicule when he revealed that he followed the so-called "Billy Graham Rule" by never dining alone with any woman other than his wife. He also drew fire from ABC's "The View" co-host Joy Behar, who characterized his faith as being a "mental illness."

In an op-ed for the Daily Wire, conservative blogger Matt Walsh took aim at left-wing critics for their relentless attacks on the second family regarding their religious beliefs.

"The Left is once again shocked to learn that the Pences are Christian. It seems they learn this fact anew every few months or so and are freshly outraged every time it dawns on them," he wrote.

He goes on to to say, "I have always had a problem with the idea that religion is something we must keep to ourselves. Indeed, the Christian faith requires exactly the opposite. But in the case of Karen Pence and her new employer, they are doing exactly what the Left demanded. This school is merely trying to operate by biblical principles within its own walls and on its own property."

"It is a Christian school simply being a Christian school. It isn't bothering anyone. It isn't invading anyone's home and lecturing them about their sexual behavior. It isn't preventing anyone from working or living or enjoying their lives," he continued. "It is just saying, very reasonably, very unobtrusively, 'We are going to conduct ourselves according to Christian moral tradition. If you don't want to accept that moral tradition, then by all means go somewhere else.'"

To be fair, it was 1968 and that was the first year VMI became intergrated. You can also bet your sweet bibby that people all over the nation are busy scrubbing on-line editions of old yearbooks and old college photos of keggers as we speak. If anyone has the original hardbound yearbooks, it may be worth a bundle to the highest bidder. :)

George Rebane

BillT 849pm - Mr Tozer, please repost under the proper commentary; thanks.

Bill Tozer

Dr. Rebane @ 9:20 pm.

I knew you would say that and I purposely and knowingly posted the “Virginia Four” under Sandbox because it does not meet the gist of the post “Redemption of The Virginia Three” ....which is about forgiveness, context, foolish indiscretions of youth, and making the punishment fit the crime decades after the fact.
Nay, good Doc, my post was in response to Scenes’s 8:49 pm, and was just an excuse for tossing in the punch line of the image of people all over the nation now scubbing their old photos and scrapbooks of things they once thought funny, cute, or harmless fun. Nothing to do with redemption. Nothing to do with the seriousness of The Virginia Three post.

Truth be told, I have wrestled with your Redemption of The Virginia Three for several hours. I wrote a thoughtful reply hours ago, but did not post it. The cynic in me wants so badly to say, “Yeah, they only want to talk about forgiveness or context or people change now that THEIR side got caught with their dicks in the wringer. I wanted to say how the dispecable Left purposely tried to destroy a man (Brit Kavanaugh) on national tv, destroy his reputation and life in front of his wife and children and slander him relentlessly....and when Kavanaugh fought back against totally unfounded and 100% uncorroborated salious accussations of the worse kind, they said he lost his cool and does not have judicial temperment. They are evil condescending fuckers.

I wanted so bad to say they let Joy Reid slide after lying about her homophobic writings in her past...they kept quiet last week when photos of Whoopi Goldberg laughing when her then boyfriend Ted Dawson dressed in blackface roasting her, when Joy B on the View dressed up as a black woman for Halloween (I was sooo cute), yet chased Megan Kelly from the air for even talking about her past “cultural appropriation”, and I am no super fan of Megan. I wanted to point out the sheer hypocrisy of the despicable Left LECTURING us on proper thinking....after calling Keyan West and conservative blacks “house niggers” on TV. They let Bill Maher slide for saying nigger....cause it was directed toward a conservative black man.
Now they that got caught doing worse, it’s time to not rush to judgement and put things in context and not destroy a man for doing what most college kids do...which is sophomoric dumb things...if they are normal young folks. Sexual assualt is different, but now they say “let’s hear the facts, innocent until proven guilty.”

So, now that I got the finger pointing out of the way, Dr. Rebane, I can now post under Redemption and the Virginia Three....albeit the Fairfax dude may or may not be off the hook....but his constituents seem not to care.

The “I believe her, I believe all women” mantra is dead because they never believed it is in the first place.

George Rebane

Another lefty narrative fails -

To determine this, the professors took advantage of different timing of the implementation of voter ID laws in different states to construct a "difference-in-differences" analysis, looking at how voters behave in states that do and do not have strict voter ID laws, before and after those laws were implemented. They used data from the progressive data service Catalist, "a U.S. company that provides data and data-related services to progressive organizations and has a long history of collaborating with academics."

The data from Catalist contained both demographic information—age, sex, race, and party affiliation—as well as information on whether or not a surveyed person was actually registered. This means that the paper’s authors could test whether or not voter ID not only stopped registered voters from voting, but discouraged unregistered voters from registering.

"Strict ID laws have no significant negative effect on registration or turnout, overall or for any subgroup defined by age, gender, race, or party affiliation," the paper's authors found.

Just because folks like Erickson are (were) Nevertrumper conservatives, they still offer good insights on issues and worth reading, depending on their familiarity/knowledge of certain issues and the writers’ own strengths, expertise, and weaknesses.
Like several Nevertrump conservatives, they have come around to Trump because of Trump’s actions, not because of his mannerisms or what he puts out there on his Twitter machine. Simetimes quickly, sometimesslowly. Levin, Ben Shapiro, Beck, and others come to mind. Actions (results) speak louder than words.

“At least we can all now be sure that reasonableness for much of the left is tied to opposing Donald Trump and anyone who might vote for him is unfit for consideration by the left. That, of course, says way more about the left than about anyone who would support the President.

The moral of the story here is to do what you think is right and not worry about what people on the internet think.”.— Eric Erickson, today’s blog.

That’s sexist! “Women are the smartest of the sexes and they always have been. We would be a whole lot better off if women were running things — more things in this country — and I mean that.” —CNN’s Don Lemon

And last… “It’s amazing how many people seem to think jokes about Elizabeth Warren pretending to be Native American are more offensive than Elizabeth Warren pretending to be Native American.” —Allie Beth Stuckey

No, Rassie polls all registered voters but applies a fudge factor to the results like everyone does. Age, gender, education, all go into the mix to correct the total to look more like the population that is known to vote.

There were something like 200 million voters registered before the November 2016 election, and maybe 130 million presidential votes were cast. That 70 million sat on their hands isn't the fault of private pollsters, and the likely voters aren't a small subset... they're most registered voters. Maybe 2/3rds.

Older white college eddicated guys with a libertarian or conservative bug up their yin/yang are more likely to vote than a heavily tatted kid just out of high school. That's just the way it is.

Walt

Paul and the LIBS like the polls that most likely get illegals to "vote".

Bill Tozer

Polls? At this time in the 2016 election cycle, Jeb Bush was the R frontrunner. He ended up in the single digits. Right now, Biden is the D front runner. He never broke 2% in his last two attempts. Polls are meaningless, except to show trend lines. It’s like following the stock market on a daily basis. Up today, down the next, up the next, down the next two...show me 90 day moving averages for short term peek-a-boos.

Interesting to note that Trump never hired a pollster until seven months after he declared his candidacy. He just read them in the papers. Why waste the money when you have your finger on the pulse of America. Some call that being a populist, lol.

Speaking of Biden and the upcoming elections, has anybody figured out how much of Bernie’s surprise showing in 2016 was due to anti-Hillary votes and how much was due to Bernie’s policies?

If Bernie does jump in the race, that will help Warren from being labeled the oldest candidate on the Left.

Of all the R’s and D’s who condemned Omar’s latest of her many anti-Semitic statements (including Nancy Pelosi), none of the Left’s declared canidates condemned IIlhan Omar. Zero. That is a non poll to watch. :). It’s who they are.

Why was Rasmussen 8 points off the mark in the midterms Todd?

Paul Emery

Also Todd you picket the Republicans to gain in the House but they lost 40 seats. Why were you so wrong?

Gregory

They weren't "8 points off the mark in the midterms" Paul. Just on one meta race, the total vote for congress, house and senate, R vs D. There is no ballot for "generic congresscritter".

Gregory

Todd's buddy LaMalfa won, Paul. Audrey Denney lost. As expected by the Democratic Party.

Todd predicted the Republicans would increase their house numbers and they lost 40. LaMalfa's win was pr4edictable but only one of seven Republicans to win in the Congressionals in California. Yes that's a total of 7 for the state. Astounding rebuke or the pubbers. Why do you care anyway Gregory? You're not a Republican.

Gregory

Paul, Todd was filling the role of an optimist. Close your eyes, click your heels together three times and say we'll win by 3.

That's not me, but if everyone had my attitude, there'd be a lot fewer mindlessly happy people out there to brighten everyone's day.

The GOP won the seven statewide without vote "harvesting", and people who have not given their employer, the state, express permission to take money from their paychecks to give to the union that claims them as a member without their consent has not ended (see Janus v. AFSCME) in California.

Then there's the mass idiocy over Climate Change that has the state's testicles in a salad shooter, but that's a mid-term problem that will blow up eventually, and resolving it will not be pretty.

Why do you care so much that you carry the Republican flag on this blog Gregory?

Gregory

I don't "carry the Republican flag" here, Punchy. I just take potshots at our common foes.

Paul had his hissy fit, and shook his cain in his far left hand.. On to bigger things.

Officials at the Department of Land and Natural Resources say this could mark the lowest-elevation snowfall ever recorded in the state."

The Northern California Coast got a dusting of snow. Humbolt County area. It’s only weather....like the droughts in the ladder 70’s...

You write that:

The GOP won the seven statewide without vote "harvesting", and people who have not given their employer, the state, express permission to take money from their paychecks to give to the union that claims them as a member without their consent has not ended (see Janus v. AFSCME) in California.

Now Nevada County voted blue in practically all state and Fed elections in the last two cycles. In Fact if all Counties in District 1 Congressional would have voted like Nevada County LaMalfa would not be District 1 Congressman. My question to you is was Nevada County aided by vote "harvesting" as you contend in the above quote as the main reason California went Democratic by such a historic level ?

Gregory

In fact, the other counties didn't vote as Nevada County did, and The Union didn't exactly do their job covering Denney's inconsistencies. She lied about a number of things, and the local Dems threw normal behavior out the door with LaMalfa's town meeting which caused him to not come back.

We don't know what the county vote is doing. It was easier to trust the process when it was simple and quick, with ballots kept together. And it's heading out to the rest of the state.

Gregory: "...and the local Dems threw normal behavior out the door with LaMalfa's town meeting which caused him to not come back."

I guess it depends what 'normal' means anymore.

Is it this event?

That's shocking scenes. Poor Baby LaMalfa I feel so bad for him.

Circling the barn again. Yes, it’s a fool’s errand to replay the tapes, but I rather like this one. Since Chuckie the Clown came into politics about 30 plus years ago, all he was ever done is attack Republican presidents, bar none. Decade in, decade out. If that said, there is nothing, absolutely nothing in The Botox Queens and Chucky’s clown car that ever gave a hint of opposing barriers.

You never want to be the guy who throws a lame party right across the street from a rip roaring booming kegger. Tonigh, Beto was that guy.
As Beto was speaking, suicide from the Trump rally a quarter mile away was audible...

Gregory

LaMalfa wasn't the loser in that town hall debacle, Punch... the losers were the people who attended expecting adult behavior, and the people who didn't attend (like me) who expected the antics that occurred.

Paul Emery

So you attribute those reasons for LaMalfa losing so solidly in Nevada County?

Bill Tozer

Gregory

Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this. It is so true.

To this day, Paul has yet to condemn the actions of his feral LIB rats. The hecklers veto is fine and dandy. And Paul is supposed to be a 1ST lover? i wonder what Paul would say if a few rednecks gave a LIB speaker a fine uh, welcome? Made sure that LIB go a good dose of "our" opinion.
What'ya say Paul?,, Can two play the same game?

Maybe you can come up with a reason why not?

Gregory

Punch, I attribute LaMalfa's loss here mostly to his deciding not to seriously contest Nevada County, having the election in the bag. If the local left play stupid games, they can win stupid prizes.

Paul Emery

What do you attribute all the other Dem wins in Nevada County to including the Presidential, Gov etc?

Gregory

The slathering reds chased LaMalfa away from Nevada County. He was disgusted by the belly crawl groveling displayed by Todd who paid him $2,500 for his autograph!! Not to be outdone LaMalfa tried in vain to get Trump to sign his cowboy hat - Trump admonished him and finger waved him away as one would do to a small child. Must have been like a hit to the gut for LaMalfa.

Todd, do you have that autograph from LaMalfa prominently displayed? Do you ever let on you had to buy it?

Blame it on the chronic -

However, Harris graduated from Howard University in 1986 and was finished with law school by 1989. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1990.

Snoop Dogg’s debut album “Doggystyle” was released in 1993. Snoop made music prior to his first album, appearing on Dr. Dre’s 1992 album “The Chronic” and the soundtrack of the 1992 film “Deep Cover,” but they were both released years after Harris finished school.

As for Tupac, his first album “2Pacalypse Now” was released in 1991. The rap legend also recorded music as part of the group Digital Underground, but it was also released in the early 1990s after Harris finished school.
