Todd is a good example of why the Repubs face extinction in California. He blindly follows our Liar in Chief and never questions a thing he does. If you do you're a traitor to the cause, whatever that is. There are, or used to be, some Republicans that could think on their own and the Party was open to thoughtful discussion on issues. Not so anymore. It's all or nothing. That's why several of my friends that used to be Republicans have left the party. It will all be over soon so perhaps when Trump is out of there they will return and we may once again have a two party system in California which Would be a good thing.

Reality check for all the socialist-dems, OPM runs out a tale of 2 socialist paradises -
Castro addressed growing concerns that Trump policies would trigger a new “Special Period,” the term for the abject poverty that struck Cuba after it could no longer exist as a parasitic state to the Soviet Union in the early 1990s.
Cubans have endured months of shortages in food and key goods, leaving many to spend hours on bread lines seeking their rations, often left empty-handed when the food runs out. In December, the Cuban government revealed that it had a 70,000-ton flour deficit, but only budgeted to fill a gap of about 30,000 tons, leaving the nation with a shortage of 40,000 tons. Those in charge claimed that, somehow, most of the nation’s grain mills were malfunctioning and in need of spare parts Havana could not procure. Díaz-Canel blamed Donald Trump.
Since then, Cubans have continued to suffer shortages of eggs, rice, milk, and other basic goods, triggering protests that have targeted Díaz-Canel personally. A paper shortage has also forced the government to print shortened versions of Granma and other propaganda newspapers.
The Castro regime has consistently blamed American officials for the shortages. In reality, Cuba’s economic downturn, like the “Special Period,” is the product of Cuba depending on a foreign economy to feed it free money, oil, and other resources. Cuba’s economy collapsed following the fall of the Soviet Union and only recovered at the end of the 1990s, when Venezuelan socialist dictator Hugo Chávez took over, initially democratically, as president. Today, dictator Nicolás Maduro has left the OPEC nation so destitute it can no longer afford to support the entire Cuban economy, though it has continued to provide oil and other aid at the expense of the Venezuelan people.

Socialist/communist countries always find a scapegoat when things inevitably go south. The USSR took turns blaming the US for having to spend so much on its military, and blamed 70 years of bad weather for its disastrous agricultural production - both screwed the Soviet consumer. So what's new in Cuba and Venezuela?

You wont have fauxcahantas to kick around much longer -
A columnist at the Boston Herald believes that Democrat hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is losing the fundraising fight with other contenders and that could result in a failed campaign.
“This is how far Elizabeth Warren’s star has fallen: she had a head start over all of her main presidential rivals, a full three months to woo donors and raise money, and she is trailing someone who’s not even officially in the race,” the columnist wrote, referring to former Vice President Joe Biden who has consistently been No. 1 in polls despite the fact that he has not officially joined the race.
A Real Clear Politics poll posted on Thursday shows Warren in fourth place in her neighboring and blue state of New Hampshire behind Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA).

It’s a year away from the primaries. I hope Biden jumps in, I really do. I also hope Beto makes a bigger comeback and Bernie leads the pack. The best thing about the Dems is they all look worse than Trump. We don’t have to lift a finger. And now that the crisis at the border is The Pelosi Caused Crisis at the Border, we look even better.
Oh, Warren is gone. Once Trump brands someone, they never are the same. Darn. The only one who can beat Trump is Oprah.

Here's some basic law for you to ponder fish
What Does It Mean to "Receive Stolen Property"?
Receiving stolen property is a crime to purchase or accept property that you know or believe was obtained through theft. The crime is separate from robbery, extortion, or theft. Receiving stolen property is a crime in order to deter people from aiding or rewarding thieves by buying stolen property, concealing stolen property, and to deter theft in general. Receiving stolen property may be a misdemeanor or felony. In order to be convicted of receiving stolen property, the prosecution must show:
Property Was In Fact Stolen: In order to be convicted of a receipt of stolen property, the property must actually be in a stolen status. This means that the police cannot set up the defendant to receive the stolen property just to bust him or her.
Knowledge: The defendant must have knowledge that the property was stolen, or should have known, that the property was stolen

Is Punchy saying that all the many many news outlets, millions of people who read and republished Wikileaks, and journalists who downloaded Wikileaks for their news, print, and on-line reporting received stolen property? Really. Receiving information from a publisher is protected under the 1st Amendment, Like when the NYT published stolen classified intel they received from somebody. As far as I know, Assange is not being charged for publishing the e-mails where Clinton operatives called New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson “Taco Bowl”. As far as I know, Assange is not being charged with anything to do with the Clinton Campaign and the Democrat Party Headquarters e-mails, not for hacking, stealing, receiving, or publishing those Democrat Party e-mails dissing Catholics. Did Huff-n-Puff Post or Vox or the NYT print those e-mails to sell papers? What a nothing burger. We do not know with 100% certainty who stole the e-mails or how many different people were in the computers. Probably more fingers were in there than when Rachel Maddcow got excited that Trump was a Russian agent. My password is PASSWORD.

Looks like open borders or catch and release is a collar them Dems don’t like wearing before 2020 Their solution is to spend a 1.2 billion in illegal alien housing facilities. lol. And they say they gave Trump the money. True, but building facilities tied to infrastructure with green mandates and bids and....well, it takes awhile to get those big buildings built and turn key. That will solve everything.
What else are the Dems up to? Oh yeah. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) endorsed Susan Collins from Maine.

Actually, Trump neither stole nor commissioned theft, and received information that was made public to all who wanted it. Lawyers and journalists are now arguing that the information was made public by journalists who did not steal it, which insulates Trump even more. And the stuff made public exposed Clinton and the DNC's corruption to boot.
Apparently it is NOT against the law for journalists to receive purloined information and data. The precedents for that are legion - most famously Woodward and Bernstein taking down Nixon through Deep Throat.

How about Chicago and the Santuary City by the Bay? Mayor Rahm said Chicago is and will always be a Santuary City. Send 20,000 there, 15,000 to Portlandia, and 40,000 to Frisco....each month.

It’s not like it was a surprise or something. A good 10 days or more in advance WikiLeaks said they would be releasing materials and set up a site to go download. CNN and everybody checked it out waiting. We all knew that Podesta’s computer got downloaded by April as it was the talk of the town. Wikileaks said they have materials. Once WikiLeaks hit the go button, it became public domain.

As far as Trump 'benefiting' from talking about it - really? I'm sure he was having fun with it.
Good grief.
No Putin cuddling - no collusion - no tax returns.
Poor Paul - left sputtering by the side of Spring Street.

Trump will win re=election handily. His numbers keep increasing and he is doing seven points better than your pal Obambama. You will have another four years to yap your gums about how bad the man is. And we will simply laugh like we do now.

Todd, today's spread between Trump and Obama at the same time is 3%, 49% approval vs 46%.
Obama started his fall from Inauguration Day 11% higher, so his total drop, so important to Punchy, was 67-46... 21%. Trump went from 56 to 49... or a 7% drop.
In other words, for every percentage point Trump has lost, Obama lost two.
Again, these are all Rasmussen numbers that Punchy doesn't want to take seriously, but they are the only daily numbers we have.

Oh wait - I'll get out my calendar and mark the date.
Let's see... hmm - 'soon' - as in next week or sometime after that?

Paul, you've been forecasting the end of the GOP for the past four years, that I've been aware of. Give it a rest. Maybe actually follow the Libertarian Party who really know how to sit in the shadows. Come on in to the shady side of life, act as a libertarian loser (like me!), not a ravenous and partisan Democrat.

Gregory
The end of the GOP sure happened in California. Also the Republicans have dug themselves in a historical hole in the House that has not been overcome in a Presidential election year for over 50 years.

Gregory, thanks for the accurate numbers. Paul Emery sure dislikes Rasmussen except when they had him down a while back. He is a situational ethics kind of guy. McAleenan is now the acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
During the visit, Trump told McAleenan that he wanted to close the border, prompting his pardon comment, The New York Times reported."

Punch... do you deny you'll have a choice between a Republican and a Republican for State Senator! Do you? DO YOU?!
This choice of yours to be silly should be beneath you, but sadly, it isn't.
The GOP is nearly dead, but it isn't surely and completely dead in the former Golden State. It can reanimate in just one election... my own guess is that it will be when the Democratic Party can't write the payroll or retirement checks that will be the financial death of the state.

Repubs Dead in California
The only reason there are two Pubbers is because of the phony Slate Mailer scam and a fake Democrat on the ballot. No difference in the end. Assemblyman Brian Dahle will win in the end. He has enough crossover support because he's an old time moderate Republican who works with the Dems to get things done.

Is there a wedding in the near future for Donald Trump Jr., the president's eldest Large Adult Son?
Jr.'s girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, was recently spotted at a bridal runway fashion show for Mira Zwillinger. Gregory at 4:26 - "...my own guess is that it will be when the Democratic Party can't write the payroll or retirement checks that will be the financial death of the state."
I wish that were so. My own take is that the sheep will be herded into an even further left (and downward) direction.
Once you go down that path, there's no turning back or admitting you were wrong. The story will be something like "we weren't bold enough" or "we didn't have the financing we needed".
Remember that the left's darling economist, Paul Krugman loved to tell us that our country's debt was no big deal as it hadn't gotten as big as our annual GDP.
Now we've sailed right past that in spades and Krugman just moves the goalposts. Debt is now super-duper OK as long as it's called an 'investment'.
It works great until it doesn't.
Paul keeps harping on the electoral failures of the Rs in CA as if it's some kind of track race between equal contestants against the clock. The voters in CA are increasingly for the 'free stuff' message. And the Dems provide it. The Dems want power and they have it. The fact that they have no idea what to do with it seems beside the point. For now.

"Fish, do you deny yes or no that Trump is an Evil Angel " Paul - If I went to a party and I met Trump, I'm sure after a while I'd tell him to go soak his head in a barrel. I didn't vote for an angel - I voted for some one who had a chance to keep Hillary away from the White House. We conservatives are not like leftists in that we do not look to our elected leaders to be some kind of super-human or perfect or our saviors. Trump was elected to administer the laws of our nation and he's doing a fair better job than anyone else that ran for that position. Yes - he's an adulterer. So was Ike and Kennedy and the sainted Dr Martin Luther King Jr.
So are lots of folks you happily sign up to play at venues in Nevada County.
You don't like his politics. So what? You went out on a limb to crow that he had no chance to ever get elected.
It turned out you were wrong. You have repeatedly been wrong about Trump and at some point I would have thought you would be reflective enough to stop and admit you aren't savvy as to what is going on.
But here I will have to admit I was wrong. It turns out you are far more mule-headed than I thought.

Ready for Daily Quotes?
Food for thought: “When everybody is a white nationalist, nobody is.” —Victor Davis Hanson
For the record: “It is difficult to distinguish [Julian] Assange or WikiLeaks from The Washington Post.” —Washington Post editorial in 2011 … and still true today
Observations: “It’s amazing how the cable TV Left has totally moved past the Barr summary letter to believe once again that the Mueller report, or at least whatever parts of it might be redacted, contains a torpedo for Trump.” —Rich Lowry
Vilifying Barr, part I: “AG Barr admitted he had no evidence to support his claim that spying on the Trump campaign ‘did occur.’ AG Barr must retract his statement immediately or produce specific evidence to back it up. Perpetuating conspiracy theories is beneath the office of the Attorney General.” —Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer
Vilifying Barr, part II: “The chief law-enforcement officer of our country is going off the rails. … He is the attorney general of the United States of America, not the attorney general of Donald Trump.” —House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
Vilifying Barr, part III: “I’m amazed that the attorney general would make that kind of statement. I think it is in many ways disrespectful to the men and women who work in the Justice Department. And it shows, I think, either a lack of understanding or willful ignorance of what goes into a counterintelligence investigation.” —Sen. Mark Warner
Vilifying Barr, part IV: “I was very disappointed in what Attorney General Barr said. … He acted more like a personal lawyer for Donald Trump … rather than the attorney general.” —Ex-CIA Director John Brennan
Vilifying Barr, part V: “I thought [William Barr’s statement on spying] was both stunning and scary. I was amazed at that and rather disappointed that the attorney general would say such a thing.” —Ex-DNI chief James Clapper
Vilifying Barr, part VI: “Barr feels the need to curry favor with Trump and I don’t understand why a man of his standing and reputation would feel the need to kowtow to the president in such a way.” —MSNBC’s Cynthia Alksne
Braying Jenny: “Another telltale sign of dictators is they corrupt the people around them, so that people like Bill Barr, who had a reputation coming in as kind of a lawyer’s lawyer, is now in the position of really shading and pandering, and I would even say misrepresenting the facts. So, he is not acting as the attorney general, but he’s acting as the spinmaster for the president. … So when somebody like Trump gets people who have some competency, but he then corrupts them, he gets them to lie, to mismanage, or to really sort of sow chaos … then you have this perpetual cloud of confusion and misunderstanding.” —Jennifer Rubin
And last… “Eric Swalwell Campaign slogan: I see you. I hear you. I’m for you. I AM you. But if you don’t turn in your guns I’ll nuke you.” —Kyle Kashuv
