As Walt pointed out yesterday (and Scott the night before that), nothing is stopping any company or start up from going worker owned. As you have previously pointed out, there are many companies that have done exactly what which you advocate. So, I fail to see what your point is. Sure, Macy’s once went private and had to pay off the investors. The reason I know that is a friend who had stock in Macy’s received a check when they went private. So, there you go. Go for it.

I suppose Briar Patch is worker owned. I looked at rather large company that claimed to be worker owned, but in actuality if was union owned and union controlled.lol. Close enough.

Any worker owned company is still under existing labor law with the same insurance liabilities. Most need to raise capital from outside sources. But, I still don’t see why you are still talking about it. Like forming 3rd Parties, go for it. Unless, you demand we agree with your unspecified plan. Then, that is an unreasonable request.

The old joke is what happens to a worker owned factory when the building is leased?

A minor (yet important) side bar issue of CA requiring a certain percentage of women aon the Board of Directors of CA companies is that it may be unconstitutional. Since the law and penalties have yet to be enforced, the issue is yet to be determined. The other joke is having half the old men on the Board identify as women. :). Who would ever dare challenger gender fluidity? That would be blasphemy to the SJW’s.

I suppose employee owned....er....worker owned factories, businesses, and service providers have to make a profit to meet payroll....just like every other business, save the government. In the old USSR, everybody had a job and no one got the ax. My favorite story (bored the readers here with it before) was the directive from the Soviet Committees concerning manufacturing underwear. The Soviet factories made an equal amount of men’s underwear as women’s underwear. Unfortunately, women buy 5x the amount of underwear as men, thus having warehouses of unsold men’s underwear filled to the rafters and chronic storages of women’s underwear. An unintended consequence of full employment. :). Yes, the Soviet plans are not what you are taking about, but before we jump head first into worker owned companies (excluding sole proprietors, of course), we best look at those unintended consequences....like what to do with slackers and bonuses for the high producers? Unfair.

Lead on Robert. Gather a couple hundred people that agree with your plan and swamp us with testimonials. I have faith in you.

Jig Wiggly

Get that Robert? "No special definitions are required here . . ." OMG ROFLOL!!!! Guess that's why a glossary of invented terms is included here. Apparently all definitions are created equal but some are more equal than others.

George Rebane

BillT 122pm - In addition to your remarks on worker owned businesses, this socio-economic structure was debated thoroughly on RR a few years back when it was introduced by reader and commenter PaulE. The concept had specific name such as 'xx economics' and a internationally published champion who enjoyed a brief interval of fame. I wish I could recall that label in order to provide a definite link to that discussion. Bottom line is as you again point our, the reasons worker-owned companies don't work are legion. And they all revolve around one of the seminal errors of collectivism - its only hope of working is when everyone practices altruism, else the Tragedy of the Commons takes over.

This commentary may contribute to the discussion, but it doesn't identify the referenced mystery economics.

This is what will lose the election for Trump-full repeal of Obamacare with no replacement in place-Whoops I forgot, he's announcing a plan tomorrow.

"Republicans have no real plan to establish a new health care system if the courts strike down the Affordable Care Act before the 2020 election. But plenty of them are rooting for its demise anyway — even if it means plunging the GOP into a debate that splits the party and leaves them politically vulnerable.

After a decade of trying to gut Obamacare, Republicans may finally get their wish thanks to a Trump administration-backed lawsuit. Its success would cause chaos not only in the insurance markets but on Capitol Hill. And Republican senators largely welcome it — even if they don’t know what comes next."

Paul Emery

Here's a quote from Fox News's Bret Hume on Trumps recent screed:

“Trump’s ‘go back’ comments were nativist, xenophobic, counterfactul and politically stupid,”

Here's more:

Washington (CNN)Texas Republican Rep. Will Hurd said Monday that President Donald Trump's tweets attacking progressive Democratic congresswomen were "racist and xenophobic," making him one of the few elected Republicans to speak out against Trump's remarks.
He told CNN's Christiane Amanpour the President's tweets reflect "behavior that's unbecoming of the leader of the free world." He said Trump should be "talking about things that unite us, not divides us."
"I think those tweets are racist and xenophobic. They're also inaccurate," he said.

"Look, I'm the only black Republican in the House of Representatives. I go into communities that most Republicans don't show up in order to take a conservative message," he also said, adding, "This makes it harder in order to take our ideas, and our platform, to communities that don't necessarily identify with the Republican Party."

Hurd said it is "concerning to me that there are people that think that's OK, that kind of behavior's OK" when asked if he was surprised why so many Republicans have not spoken out about Trump's tweets.
Asked why the President "keeps doing this kind of stuff" and if he thinks Trump is racist, Hurd said, "Well, you'd have to ask him those questions. But the comments were indeed racist."

George Rebane

Jig 128pm - You are now giving a good impersonation of an idiot. It's clear that most, if not all, of the discussion here is not accessible to you. For those similarly afflicted, my assertion that 'no special definitions are required here' made the point that the usual definitions of 'collectivist' and 'communist' suffice.

For all others, it's interesting to again note that the Left does not want to define anything, but only use terms that have their own hubristic meanings in ad hoc settings - 'it meant what I now say it meant'. That policy prevents anyone from holding them to account as to who said what. The RR glossary is here to avoid that kind of obfuscation. Light thinkers don't understand that when a writer offers a glossary, he does it to clarify his commentary and not necessarily impose his semantics on the reader.

And yes, I come from a specific culture in our society that has always had to maintain a glossary, as in our work we have invented/discovered/developed new things not yet familiar to the mind of Man. Without that communication becomes the cacophony that the Left continues to demonstrate today in the public media with their Alice in Wonderland language.

George Rebane

PaulE 152pm - Paul, ref my 136pm, do you remember the 'new economics' you introduced here several years ago for discussion that involved workers owning the businesses at which they worked?

Paul Emery

Are you referring to the book I cited by Riane Eisler, The Real Wealth of Nations? I can loan it to you if you like.

"In The Real Wealth of Nations, pioneering social scientist, Riane Eisler powerfully shows that the great problems of our time - from poverty and inequality to environmental degradation, war, and terrorism - are due largely to flawed economic systems that set the wrong priorities, mis-allocate resources, and fail to value the most important human work.

"This brilliant book shows how we can build economic systems that meet both our material and spiritual needs."

@2:05 pm. This does not address your query to Punchy, but....

I remember during the big push for Buy Local was going on and someone (the wacky N.C. mayor?) pushed for the barter system and non-money money. Of course the person who addressed the council and prompted the no-cash and in-kind credits for Nevada City wanted a big fat fee for his services...in real money, roflmao. Nothing wrong with kicking around ideas. Heck, even the Lincoln cabinet kicked around the idea of sending the slaves back to Africa after the Emancipation Proclamation. Just kicking ideas around. No harm in that. I think of it as guys in a dorm sucking on bongs and coming up with new ways to reinvent the wheel.

I did my personal research after the Buy Local guy came to town and addressed the locals. His examples where Boulder, Colorado and Grey Harbor(?) Washington. Both his examples where college towns. The demographics of those places where nothing like Nevada County. The mean and average age of those those place were way lower, the non-married and without children were way higher. The amount of bicycle riders were much higher, to put it kindly. Besides the universities, both had large private employers in town (besides government), which made the population closer to their jobs.

Last summer when I saw two of my nieces (one works at Cornell, the other for VIT) neither owned a car. They took public transit everywhere or rode their bikes. They fit the profile of the Buy Local demographics of Boulder or W. Washington perfectly. Young, unmarried, childless, and they buy everything Local, lol. Just saying. Ok, perhaps they buy stuff on-line.

Bottom lines: one size does not fit all....unless you work for the employer of last resort and issue mandates from on high to the unwashed masses. When reading the GND, my first knee jerk reaction was “this is written by people who live in East Coast cities...or like my nieces.” Just take the train, lol. Cows? Where do they come from and why do we need them? Guaranteed government jobs for everybody...good paying jobs and nice affordable homes. No more living in old miners cabins with walls so thin you can throw a cat through them. And good floors. No more dirty floors for anybody!
Guess that eliminates the need for volunteers to pick up cigarette butts at the river. Just take the train to get there. :). And Buy Local. And do away with money.

Nothing wrong with kicking around ideas.

In conclusion, here are a couple of my great brainstorming ideas:
1) As we erase from our society any and all reminders of our sinful past of racism, White Superiority, and slavery, would it not also mean that we, piece by piece, erase our history of slavery as well....thus slavery did not exist? Hmmm? Gone with the wind. Like it never happened. Think about that.

2). Climate Change. If these weather events that happen every year and month somewhere are caused by Climate Change and since weather is normally thought of as daily events (say, like the nice weather today) and since hundreds of days, nay thousands of daily weather that are put together in a row is considered Climate Change....does it not stand to reason that stopping Climate Change means that they are promising to change my daily weather?

Robert Cross

" he does it to clarify his commentary and not necessarily impose his semantics on the reader."

that may be true George 2:01, but the interpretation of a message lies with the receiver not the sender. So regardless of what the intended meaning was, people will insert their own connotative meaning into the mix. Political pundits and PR people use this extensively knowing that their audience will react to certain words in a certain way no matter what.

George Rebane

RobertC 252pm - That indeed is true, and that is why I stated many years ago that my aim was not to change the minds of those who don't even understand my worldview, logic, history, ... (i.e. my ontology). And I do not write for simple minds, life is too short. If my words have any draw, then do a little work and understand how I use them (there I help you by meticulous definitions, my glossary, and my credo). And if they don't, then have a good day. I have little profit in pursuing people who live in other universes.

BTW, here's something from the past that may bear on the matter.

The Four babes presser was a hoot! I want to thank them for giving a lot more Americans a view of them and their looney ideas. All victims all the time. And nasty beatches all. They have driven many black men over to the R's with their attacks. Thanks. Trump will obliterate whomever these nuts put up and it looks good for R's to take back the House and keep the Senate. I just love these babes.

More fakenews undone -

After Democrat lawmakers and commentators spent months hammering the Trump administration for supposedly delaying the release of a $20 bill featuring abolitionist Harriet Tubman, several officials appointed by President Barack Obama have reportedly admitted that Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has followed the Obama timeline for producing the new currency.

The Obama administration said 2016 that it wanted to remove Andrew Jackson from the $20 bill and replace him with Tubman, who helped free slaves through the Underground Railroad, and that the bills would be ready in 2020. But a current "high-ranking government official" appointed by Obama, as well as a former official, confirmed to The Washington Post that the Tubman bill had "had "always been scheduled for release toward the end of the next decade."

Former Vice President Joe Biden's support in the latest Hill-HarrisX poll of Democratic voters has fallen below 30 percent, his lowest mark in the survey so far.

The poll, released on Monday, found that 29 percent of likely Democratic primary voters support Biden as their first choice for president, while 16 percent back Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

This marks a 4-point drop for Biden from an identical poll conducted two weeks ago and immediately following the first 2020 Democratic debates. It also represents a 17-point drop from when same
poll was first conducted in May, a month after Biden formally launched his campaign bid.

The swamp creatures counter attack -

A high-ranking Guatemalan government official told Breitbart News that the U.S. Department of State in that country is working with leftist organizations to allow President Donald Trump’s proposed “safe country” asylum agreement to die. President Trump is seeking agreements with Mexico and Central American countries to help slow the surge of migrants attempting to exploit loopholes in the U.S. asylum system.

A high-ranking Guatemalan government official spoke with Breitbart News under the condition of anonymity about the plans being negotiated between Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales and U.S. President Donald Trump to house so-called asylum seekers who have illegally crossed the U.S. border from Mexico. The proposed agreement would allow asylum seekers from any country to be sent to Guatemala for asylum. The proposal and a meeting scheduled for Monday between the two presidents has been postponed, Breitbart News reported.

“We hope the meeting will happen,” the Guatemalan official told Breitbart News in a phone interview, “but it won’t happen now.” A constitutional court in Guatemala placed an injunction against President Morales’ government from entering into the agreement, Sara Carter reported. “The court has acted against the constitution,” the Guatemalan official continued. He explained the Guatemalan courts are packed with leftist activists.

The official also blamed the U.S. State Department in Guatemala for “not doing anything to salvage the agreement.” He said State Department officials will frequently push to get agreements approved but have not done so in this case.

In today's chapter of Old man forgets to turn off his right blinker:

The number one cacophonic communicator is currently Donald Trump, but somehow the rules of Rebane only and always pertain to the left.

The pony tail of ignorance is letting his fakenewsman out with a selectively edited quote, not comma at the end of the line @152. Here is the whole line. I understand the last part would be a problem for someone who engages it that so regularly! -

“Trump’s ‘go back’ comments were nativist, xenophobic, counterfactual [sic] and politically stupid. But they simply do not meet the standard definition of racist, a word so recklessly flung around these days that its actual meaning is being lost,”

George Rebane

Jig 425pm - Were your reading skills up to par, you'd have noticed over two years of Trump's foot-in-the-mouth pronouncements taken to task in these pages (the latest in the current Scattershots). Perhaps your more literate cohorts can explain the matter to you.

DonB 438pm - I was kinda taken aback by PaulE's intentional misquote when watching the news tonight and seeing the entirety of Hume's commentary. Maybe he got that quote from one of the lamestream outlets he follows, one that would reliably tell such lies day in and out. The same can be said of Trump being misquoted about telling the Squad to 'go back to your country'.

Scott O

Stuck Pig - "The number one cacophonic communicator is currently Donald Trump,..."
If the English language is too hard for you Pig, then maybe get some help from an adult.
Trump's message was loud and clear - "If you hate this country and its Constitutional governance then perhaps you'd best not let the door hit you in the ass on your way back to the fabulous country your parents bailed out of because it's a shithole country.
Nothing racist or xenophobic at all in any way, shape or form.
You can disagree with policy or politics, but you had better hug the flag and worship the Constitution. If not - get out. Skin color, ethnic background, religion, and gender has no role in any of that. We have the best form of governance (a Republic, not a democracy) ever tried in the world. Any one who doesn't like it is free to leave.
Funny how they never do.

Scott O

The Pig claims The Donald is too hard to understand. Maybe this will help explain:
Oh yeah - they 'love' America. Meaning that they want all the goodies but not the responsibility of maintaining a free nation.

"If you like your health care plan, you can keep it."

That familiar pledge, made repeatedly over several years by former President Barack Obama, was named the 2013 "Lie of the Year" by fact-checking website Politifact, as millions of individuals lost their private insurance -- and had to switch to costlier options -- due to changes mandated by the Affordable Care Act.

On Monday, Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden unveiled his own health care plan, and issued a similar-sounding promise while speaking at a presidential forum sponsored by AARP in Des Moines, Iowa.

"I give people the option," Biden said, after dismissing his opponents' "Medicare-for-all" proposals, which would eliminate private health insurance entirely. "If you like your health care plan, your employer-based plan, you can keep it."

All 57 states??

Scott @ 5:22 pm. Well, the weekend showed their true colors.

First, watching Old Glory being lowered and the Mexican flag being raised in its place to the cheering crowd in Colorado is EVERYTHING you need to know about the Leftists. Everything. That is how they show their love.

Second, the CNN media star got shot by the police in Tacoma for trying to firebomb a detention facility. Antifa. Good thing that Antifa dude did not hurt any detainees. Was it Ozzie who defended Antifa’s violence recently? At least that shit for brains is as good as his word and took a hike. A rare occurrence coming from the unhinged, but another e perfect example of how they show their love and hate.

Thanks for re-posting my quote from Fox News senior political analyst Bret Hume.

Here it is again" “Trump’s ‘go back’ comments were nativist, xenophobic, counterfactul and politically stupid,”

Here's a definition of xenophobic by the way:

The term 'xenophobia' is typically used to denote a phobic attitude towards foreigners or strangers, or even of the unknown. Racism in general is described as a form of xenophobia.

Don Bessee

What's xenophobic about an expenses paid trip to another country to solve their problems ... and then come back to the good ol'USA?

The countries involved are Somalia, Chicago, Detroit (Tlaib's parents are Palestinians, explaining her hate for Israel) and the Bronx. What could go wrong?

Normalizing the Democratic Socialists of America (drop the D-) is not a winning strategy for the Democratic party in 2020.

Paul - " According to Bret Hume Trump demonstrates a "fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange or foreign"
But neither Paul nor Bret can actually find any quote or action of Trump's that would demonstrate that.

Aha! I found the ultimate example of self pity: I wasn’t asked to be born. Where is the complaint department?? Do they ever stop belly aching? No fun to be around, fa sure.

“He finds it “so sad” that his children are apparently happy to follow our culture’s social expressions of the biological reality of the male/female divide. Yet these “silly gender norms” are expressions of the reality of our embodiment as sexually dimorphic primates. His children are not being imprisoned by an abstraction, but developing as the embodied, social beings that we humans are.

“His problem is with the universe. He is saddened, not by any suffering of his children, but by their voluntary, natural absorption of cultural norms. It is he who wants to limit them to satisfy an abstraction. He may be imprisoned by the abstractions of ideology, but they are at home in the world.....

“His perspective was parodied by one of my favorite lines from the philosopher Soren Kierkegaard: “Who am I? How did I come into the world; why was I not asked…Am I not free to decide? Am I to be forced to be part of it? Where is the manager, I would like to make a complaint!” We necessarily are thrown into existence without our consent, and into circumstances we do not choose.”

“Instead of viewing our being as a gift, Manjoo sees it as a prison sentence. It would be easy to dismiss him as one more silly ideologue whose campaign to control language will likely flounder in the face of human reality. But he represents what has become the dominant ideology of our culture, and it is inflicting real harms, especially on women. For example, female athletes are being supplanted by males who identify as women, and lesbians are being harassed and shamed for not wanting to have sex with lesbian transwomen (i.e., men).”

Prediction: the next evil people for the Left to attack are those cisgender men who are not attracted to transgender women and, of course, those bigoted cisgender lesbians who do not want to hook up with transgender women.

Speaking of Palestinians, were they defendants of European colonialists as well?

“Science has made a huge leap forward in dispelling the mystery that surrounds the Philistines, the biblical archenemies of the Israelites who suddenly appeared on the coasts of the Levant more than 3,000 years ago.
The origins of this ancient population have eluded scholars for centuries. Now, an analysis of DNA extracted from skeletons unearthed at Ashkelon, on Israel’s southern coast, confirms the theory that the earliest Philistines had at least some European ancestry, most likely from the south of the continent. This supports the long-held theory by some scholars, based on clues from ancient texts and similarities in archaeological finds from the two regions, that the Philistines hailed from the Aegean.
“This is pretty critical evidence that we are on the right track in understanding the Philistines as a people who came out of the Aegean and reached places like Ashkelon as immigrants,” says Daniel Master, a professor of archaeology at Wheaton College and co-director of the dig at Ashkelon.”...

“The Philistines used to be understood as a monolithic culture that invaded from somewhere the coastal plain and took over,” says Maeir. “Today many people argue that when you look at the early Philistines you don’t see a single culture but what we call an ‘entangled’ culture, one formed by contributions from many peoples, with influences from Cyprus, Anatolia, Greece and other places that are all mixed in with local elements to form this Mediterranean salad: and this is what we see in the material culture and in the ancient DNA.”

“The relatively rapid pace at which the Philistine genome – and culture – went native also tells us something about those early European settlers who started it all. Archaeologically, it has been difficult to determine whether their takeover of Ashkelon and other sites on the coastal plain was a violent or peaceful affair – it may have varied from place to place..

In other science news.....the reversal of the magnetic fields.

Well, it is a refreshing change to throw around the word xenophobia. As a youngin’ in our public education system (non-union), we had to learn a big word everyday for a month and tested it on at the end of the year... starting with A and going to Z. Think it was in the 4th grade. Xenophobia was the word of the day for the letter X. Fear of the unknown, fear of the foreign. Now days it probably means fear of the foreign(er).
Go job, media to come up with a new word or beat into the ground with. Heck, they have been tossing around the word racist at ALL of us righties everyday for years until the word has lost its meaning. I guess the chose the word “xenophobia” is preferred after AOC called Speaker Peloski the Botox Queen a racist on Friday. Or was that Thursday? Things can change on a dime.

Xenophobia has been around for centuries. I am heartened that AG Barr today has decided to crack down on it. I have a sneaky feeling that the Squad of 4 Squid will call Barr a racist (how wonderfully overused), especially by Ilhan Omar and that other Jew hater Tliab and that other Jew Hater who nobody can remember her name.

Words of the day are pluralistic (as in pluralistic society) and metastasize. Two words to memorize.

“A healthy body with a strong immune system can have success in preventing cancer from emerging or spreading, but if the immune system weakens, cancer can emerge,” Barr told the crowd while speaking at the Department of Justice’s summit on anti-Semitism. “Some might be localized, but others can rapidly metastasize and become systemic. Just like the physical body, a body politic must have an immune system that resists anti-Semitism and other forms of racial hatred.”

“What is the state of our immune system within American society?” he continued. “In a pluralistic society like ours, I think the ability to resist hate comes from cultivating a civil society that on the one hand nurtures the freedom of each group to pursue their faith and distinctive way of life, while at the same time fostering the ties that bind us together into a genuine broader community.”

“The Justice Department revealed in early July that it will be hosting the summit, bringing together Trump administration officials and Jewish leaders to discuss combating anti-Semitism on colleges campuses and throughout America, reported the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

“Referring to hatred against the Jewish people as “the most ancient and stubborn form of racism throughout western history,” Barr stated that combating anti-Semitism is a “critical priority” of his department.

“The causes have been varied; at times it has been driven by religious intolerance, cultural differences, economic envy and ideological dogma,” Barr said. “Sometimes those disappointed with their own rotten life seize on conspiracy theories to blame the Jewish people for their own discontent, and some times political factions competing for power find in the Jewish people a convenient scapegoat to unify and inflame their political base.”

Hmmm. “and some times political factions competing for power find in the Jewish people a convenient scapegoat to unify and inflame their political base.”

BT 8:22 - Love that fellow, er guy, ah - person, whatever - Manjoo.
"Farhad Manjoo argues that “language should not default to the gender binary.” Specifically, he wants to eliminate gendered pronouns such as he and she."
Kinda F's up a lot of 'progressive' laws, don't it?
Not that progressives have the ability to see that they are their own worst enemies.
The fact is that 'language' does not default to anything. It is in society's use of language that there are certain formalities and customs. Perhaps Manjoo could explain why approximately half the babies born have one certain set of genetic traits and one half another. Lets start with anthropology - that'll be fun!
Can't say any more what the hell the skeleton is - might have identified as a woolly mammouth or maybe a fruit fly or maybe a T Rex undergoing a change in lifestyle.
Once you start off down the road to crazy-ville, don't be surprised if some one you hate demands that you obey their rules. You did ask for it!

The presser by the Squad of Squid yesterday was a gift from heaven. Now the Dems ARE THE FACE of communists, people who lower the American flag and raise the Mexican flag on US soil, praise al-Qaeda, hate Jews, push for free healthcare for illegals, defend Antifa, and lie through their teeth. These four pieces of work and now the Leaders of the Left, the face of the Left, and now the Left has to defend them, roflmao.

Where are the Fact Checkers now?

“None of what Omar claimed is true. Trump referred to athletes who kneel during the national anthem as "sons-of-b*****s," not black athletes. Trump referred to certain countries as "sh-tholes," not black and brown people. Trump did not equate neo-Nazis with those who protest them, he specifically condemned them.

“Omar went on to claim that Trump was accused of criminally colluding with Russia to undermine the U.S. election, despite the fact that Special Counsel Robert Mueller stated in his report on his Russia investigation that the Trump campaign did not conspire with Russia.

“Omar also spread conspiracy theories, claiming without evidence that Trump was trying to promote “an agenda to allow millions of Americans to die from a lack of health care.”

“Omar also refused to deny that she was a communist and that she is pro-al-Qaeda, a question that emerged after footage of her emerged from 2013 where she laughed when talking about ISIS and al-Qaeda.”

Bottom line:

“In reaction to the poll, a top Democrat involved in the 2020 congressional races told Axios: "If all voters hear about is AOC, it could put the [House] majority at risk. [S]he's getting all the news and defining everyone else’s races. Socialism is toxic to these voters."

Never get tired of winning. BTW, did I fail to mention the Left has to defend the terrorist attack on the Tacoma detention center by the guy whose manifesto reveals he was triggered by the term ‘concentration camps’ used by AOC and the media? Sweet. Their rhetoric caused it. The Lefties words caused the terrorist attack.

Speaking of terrorists attacks, did anyone notice the deafening silence by the Leftinistas and Omar and Communists concerning the terrorist attack in that shithole Somalia that left two American citizens dead along with that wonderful writer from Canada? Not a peep from the perps.

Bill Tozer

Omar and AOC defend Antifa terrorist attack? Not in this lifetime. It’s who the faces of the New Democrat Party are.

“Having read Trump's tweets, I see nothing related even remotely to race. However, having read and listened to Omar, Tlaib, and AOC the last few months, including in the last few days, they've made repeated anti-Semitic statements, which have mostly been defended or even ignored by most of the Democratic Party-press. AOC also accused Pelosi of racism last week, as Kamala Harris accused Biden of racism during the Democrat Party debate.” Mark Levin

-“Yesterday, the #Squad called @realDonaldTrump the "occupant" of the White House. If ANY republican congressperson referred to President @BarackObama as the "occupant" of the WH, they'd have to enter witness protection.‬

“Something that I get criticized for all the time … is that I am anti-American because I criticize the United States. I believe, as an immigrant, I probably love this country more than anyone that is naturally born and because I am ashamed of it continuing to live in its hypocrisy.” —Ilhan Omar

“Mr. President, the country I ‘come from,’ & the country we all swear to, is the United States. But given how you’ve destroyed our border with inhumane camps, all at a benefit to you & the corps who profit off them, you are absolutely right about the corruption laid at your feet.” —Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-
This one sounds familiar....heard it in these pages by the local commies

“[President Trump’s] slogan should be Make America Hate Again because he’s trying to foment division as a political campaign. It is what he’s doing with our ICE agents, is not about securing our borders. It’s basically an electoral effort by President Trump.” —Bill de Blasio

And finally, what ever happened to Roberta Campbell Cross’s “Wag the Dog, Trump is going to lead us into war with Iran” display of pure unadulterated TDS?

Bill Tozer

Power struggles and the Jacobins.

Far-left Democrats created the weapon of identity politics, and now it's swinging for party moderates. Will intersectionality fracture the left?

“There’s a constant struggle with people that have power with sharing that power and we’re not really in the business of sharing that power,” Rep. Ilhan Omar tells Allison. She says they’re in the business of grabbing the power and bringing it back to the people.”

“Both sides in this uncivil war are claiming the other does not authentically represent non-white people. And few things are more likely to inflame the argument than attempts to erase each other’s identity.”

“President Trump’s recent comments and tweets defending Pelosi and attacking the squad are arguably counterproductive, inasmuch as they shift the focus from Democratic disarray to the president, as he is wont to do. On the other hand, whether intentional or not, due to the magic of negative polarization, these statements will effectively undermine Pelosi and strengthen the squad among Democrats. Trump’s intervention may even force a truce, which would associate the Democrats more with the squad. Given that Ocasio-Cortez, Omar, and socialism are widely unpopular with working-class voters in swing states, daring Democrats to defend the squad may serve the president’s reelect campaign.

“None of this means the Democrats’ intraparty conflict will be truly going away anytime soon. True believers in identity politics view America as founded upon and still reflecting white supremacy. In their view, only revolutionary action can unseat white supremacy, which means more establishment Democrats of any color are collaborators. It is also a convenient philosophy for young radicals who need to unseat the old folks grasping the levers of power (youth politics itself being a cheap form of identity politics).

“People left of center, from Talking Points Memo’s Josh Marshall to Maureen Dowd at The New York Times, still do not seem to comprehend that the squad’s game is, as Omar openly stated, to grab power, not share it. They will be doomed to repeat their shock.“

Trump singled out four women of color to leave the country. He has many critics so why did he focus on them only?

Don Bessee

The pony tail of ignorance ignores they are USA, Jew hating communists which is the real issue.

Scott O

Clueless Paul - "He has many critics so why did he focus on them only?"
The fact that they are critical of him has nothing to do with it, Paul.
Those 4 fly in tight formation and have been singled out by their own party on occasion. They are all vitriolic socialists who openly hate much of what made this country great. If this country became what they want, we would devolve into a shithole country ourselves.
He was calling them out for their beliefs - color of skin has nothing to do with it.
Also Paul - you didn't answer George's question.
Par for you.

George Rebane

PaulE 1203pm - Paul, Trump didn't "single them out" any more than has Nancy Pelosi. They have singled themselves out and proudly labeled themselves ("the Squad") as the anti-American phalanx of the Democratic Party. In case your outlets don't report such things, the Democrats are now having quite an intra-mural dust-up. No Dem really knows what to do with them. Only the provocative Left wants to tell the country's light readers that this was a "racist" call out. Are you one of them?

Todd Juvinall

Funny how Trump never mentioned their names but they all assumed he was talking about them. I call them all narcissists. And we know if theyy were from Norway he would call them out so it is not racist. Only in the minds of liberal whiners and victims is it that. Cracks me up. Most Americans are with Trump on this. Anyway the four babes of a color not white are just Jew-haters, Greek haters and anti-Americans. The dems are trying to pass a condemnation of Trump right now in the House. Getting ugly. Pelosi was called out for her own outrageous words. What a hypocrite.

“Cheney also reiterated her condemnation of “vile anti-Semitism” that the freshman group has espoused on multiple occasions.

“Omar and Tlaib became America’s first Muslim congresswomen when sworn into office in January. Along with Ocasio-Cortez, the three progressive lawmakers have been embroiled in allegations of anti-Semitism and anti-American sentiments even prior to taking office.

“The Wyoming congresswoman has often butted heads with the trio. After Republican Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a former Navy SEAL, took offense to Omar’s description of the September 11 terrorist attacks as merely an event where “some people did something,” Ocasio-Cortez accused Crenshaw of not caring about 9/11 victims. Cheney immediately called the incident “nauseating” and demanded a public apology, which never came.

“Ocasio-Cortez also tried to blame Cheney after Ocasio-Cortez received widespread criticism for comparing Nazi concentration camps to illegal immigrant detention facilities.

“They’re wrong when they say their programs help people at the lower end of the economic spectrum,” Cheney told the crowd during the press conference. “Every one of their socialist programs would create massive new government dependency and end the very economic growth we need to ensure everyone can prosper.”

“Listing the "Squad’s" support for far-left policies such as late-term abortion, eliminating the private health insurance market, abolishing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), providing free healthcare to illegal immigrants, open borders, and mandating a $15 minimum wage, Cheney contended, “that is not compassion,” but rather a “callousness that’s born out of ignorance.”

“Our colleagues are wrong when they tell Americans, as Congresswoman Pressley did just last weekend, that any individual seat at the table is only valuable, only legitimate, if that person espouses some preapproved set of beliefs deemed appropriate based on their religion or their gender or their race,” Cheney said. “When they say that, that is racist.”

UPDATE: MN City Council to Reinstate Pledge of Allegiance After Uproar

“The St. Louis Park City Council has voted to reinstate reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of every meeting after it had originally voted unanimously to ban the pledge in order to create a “more welcoming environment” for it’s “diverse” community.
Last week, almost 100 patriotic protesters attended a council meeting to demand they reinstate the pledge. The protesters recited the Pledge of Allegiance, waved American flags and chanted “USA!”

“Last night, Fox 9 reports, the city council voted unanimously to bring back the pledge, and council member Steve Hallifan said “I’ve concluded that I made a mistake and I’m sorry and I’m asking for forgiveness.”

Ok, forgiven. You may go in peace. However, the others will meet their fate at the ballot box. Of course it does not make sense to them. They are products of anti-Americanism taught in our schools and campuses.

“Other members, however, did not seem as apologetic.

“Anne Mavity, the councilwoman who proposed the original measure said, “I’m not sure that if you say the pledge three times a month instead of this two, you’re more patriotic. Or if you say it one time a month you’re less patriotic. That makes no sense.”

“Member Tim Brausen echoed Mavity’s sentiment, telling attendees, “You want people to hate us because we start our meetings in a way you deem politically incorrect. As we strive to have liberty and justice for all, please let us have our liberty here and respect our local control.”
In related news, Ilhan Omar called the entire State of North Dakota racist. She should know. She went to North Dakota State with a tuition of $8,200/year, most of it paid for by the generous racist taxpayers under our immigrant and POC affirmative action programs. And to top that, she had both her husbands move to North Dakota with her, roflmao. Imagine being a fly on the wall in that house.

Just one question for you. Would you ever have a known liar on your program? Like known, as in the papers. Would you ever have someone on your show who lied to the local police and was arrested and charged for lying straight to the local policeman’s face, presenting false identification, and impersonating another? Would you ever have that kind of a person on your show??
Simple question. A yes or no will suffice. Thank you in advance for your answer.
Quotes from the fun times in our time in space

For the record: “We all know that AOC and this crowd are a bunch of communists. They hate Israel, they hate our own country, they’re calling … Border Patrol agents concentration camp guards. They accuse people who support Israel as doing it for the ‘Benjamins.’ They are anti-Semitic. They are anti-America. … [And] we don’t need to know anything about them personally [to] talk about their policies.” —Sen. Lindsey Graham

For the record II: “Their real problem is that they have a problem with America because the American people are too free. The American people have too much liberty and too much say-so over their own lives. And boy, if you come here and think that’s a problem, there’s no way you can be an American. If you think that the problem in America is too much freedom, too much liberty, not a big enough government, then you’re not an American. You’re nowhere close to being an American.” —Rush Limbaugh

Political futures: “Mr. Trump doesn’t seem to understand that Democrats want the 2020 election to be about his words and behavior, rather than the results of his economic policies. They’ll lose a debate over results, but they’ll win if the election is a referendum on character.” —The Wall Street Journal

Non Compos Mentis: “Remember the heat that ended up around the bend the knee and Colin Kaepernick? Many smart people have said it was actually not a thing. The Russian bots started taking that on.” —Sen. Kamala Harris

Hot air: “This bigotry, this hate, this homophobia, Islamaphobia, xenophobia is a part of our Original Sin. We in the Congress of the United States of America have an opportunity to do something about the Original Sin. … This is our opportunity and I beg that we would take advantage of it and let history know that when we had a chance to do something about the Original Sin of the United States of America … we took the opportunity and we did … the most honorable thing to do and that was to impeach this president.” —Rep. Al Green

Déjà vu: “I give people the option. If you like your health care plan, your employer-based plan, you can keep it. If in fact you have private insurance, you can keep it.” —Joe Biden

And last… “I thought it was Pelosi who yesterday was being accused of racism by the very four people who she’s now defending. If Pelosi and everyone else is a racist, what does it mean anymore?” —Newt Gingrich

(Loved the Kamala Harris quote the best. Blame the Russians, lol)

California has been berry berry good to me.

Robert Cross

you are cherry picking on immigrant crime-- it is a well known and widely available FACT that citizens commit more crimes (per capita) than immigrants. such cherry picking gives an untrue picture of the real situation and just fans the flames of discrimination/hate against immigrants...rapists, thieves, murderers, etc. and further widens the divide.

Scott O

Poor Bobby - dude, you have to read the article before you stick your foot in your mouth. It's about California law enforcement officials letting known illegals walk free instead of turning them over to ICE. These are the bad guys the Dems promised wouldn't be protected by sanctuary laws. They lied and now there is an unnecessary increased risk to the public because of it. These aren't just a pool of all illegals, these are the known criminals. As Uncle Joe would say: "C'mon, man!"

Rock Hunter

"Threads on 8chan and Gab -- platforms used by the far-right for their permissive approach to hate speech -- included praise for Trump's comments, with many repeating some of the false narrative about the congresswomen's heritages put forth by the President. "Anti-white politicians come to our country. Rather than kissing the soil and feeling grateful, they desire to remove our borders, speech, monuments, firearms, flags, and every single other part of US culture," one poster wrote. "Why the F*** are they in the US in the first place if they can't do the bare minimum of adopting US values?"

Rock Head at 2:30 - Could someone who is expert at dealing with children or low IQ adults explain to Rocky the poor logic in trying to smear someone because of what a 3rd party says or does?

Bill Tozer

It’s kind of hard to cherry pick when all immigrants are lumped in with the criminal illegals. Dilution is the Lefty solution. How many illegal immigrants are in the CA prison system for the crime of homicide? I know, do you. Do you know the percentage of illegals in our Federal prison to non-illegals? I do.

Surprisingly, the children of “immigrants” have are much higher crime rate than citizens. Guess that is because they are only counted after they turn 18.

Since you are here, little girl, tell us more about Wag the Dog. Come on, little mangina boy, tell us all that there is no crisis at the border, that Trump made it all up. Come on Bobbie, tell everybody about your stated fact that Trump would be gone last Spring. Come on, shit for brains, tell us how illegals pay in taxes more than the cost. Come on, Bobbie, try to get something right. Try, Bobbie Sue, to get one thing right. Try.

Of all people I know you (and George, Walt, Todd . . .) would be proud to own this statement. Tell us you wouldn't.

Anti-white politicians come to our country. Why the F*** are they in the US in the first place if they can't do the bare minimum of adopting US values?

George Rebane

RobertC 218pm - "...citizens commit more crimes (per capita) than immigrants." Mr Cross, this will come as a bit of a shock to you, but would you reconsider your statement in the light of two more important "FACTS"? 1) Does your claim stand when your "immigrants" are divided into legal immigrants and illegal aliens? 2) Can you identify the American cohort whose crime stats dominate the quoted aggregate stat for American citizens?

Wow……that's Steve Frisch level of "desperation during an argument"!

Bill Tozer

Yo Bobbie.

Do you know who Maria Perez Guitierrez, 38, of Auburn is? She is dead, killed by the driver Joaquin Lopez Pinto, 28 of Auburn in Nevada County. She died in the wreck on March 2I, 2019 on Hwy 49. The driver did not have a driver’s license, nor is he authorized to be in the country. Honduran, illegal. Released on bond shortly after.

You might have read about it in Union. Then, on April 19, the Union ran a story that Pinto the Illegal Alien’s charges were reduced to a misdemeanor because he was not speeding. He just ran off the road for no apparent reason and smashed into a tree, killing his passenger. I figure he did not have a drivers license because he probably did not know how to drive. Who knows. Too lazy to get one?
The Union on April 19 said the woman was unidentified.

I e-mailed the Union asking about the identity of the unknown woman. No reply, the e-mail probably got lost in cyperspace. No biggie.

Then I found an article a Auburn paper that the Nevada County Coroner’s Office released the name of the deceased on March 27, 2019....full three plus weeks before the Union wrote on April 19th that the woman was unidentified. 3 weeks after the county released her name the Union wrote she was unidentified.

So, of course you don’t know what is going on out there. It’s a common story when it comes to illegals. Most folks and reporters just sweep it under the carpet and pretend nothing happened. Now, if Mr. Pinto had stabbed an opossum, all hell would have broken loose. BTW, her name was Maria. I seem to be the only one who cares what her name was. RIP, Maria Perez Guitierrez. Sorry you had to die on our roads. Sorry you were the passenger driven by an unlicensed illegal alien.

Common story. You should see what they throw in the Truckee jail and release the next day. CA is a Santuary City. Who knows what is happening with Mr. Pinto’s case. I don’t.

Rock Hunter

Maria Perez Guitierrez was an illegal alien
You will ask, "Why does it matter"

Joaquin Lopez Pinto was an illegal alien
I will ask, "Why does it matter"
