Hummmmm No jiggered for a while? Must be on his way to Portland. (now who paid his way?) Can you get ANTIFA gear through TSA screening?

One for the America lovers.

,,,Attn. Trumpster Deplorables!!!,,,get yours while you can!!!

What? Dougy awake before 10AM? Naaa, will pass on Proggy BS.

BYW Dougy,, your family health care cover beatings while attending riots? Might want to Jr. at home.

Robert Cross

In the 'yet another lie' category --In a speech trump claimed credit for approving a Shell plastic plant near Pittsburg that actually was started during the Obama administration...Shell workers were forced to listen or forfeit a days pay for not attending the speech. Workers were also told "No yelling, shouting, protesting or anything viewed as resistance will be tolerated at the event." Freedom of speech under trump: say what he wants to hear or nothing under penalty.

It's OK Babs,, Now don't forget that "Honest" Joe tried to take credit for Trump's economy. "Trump didn't do it, "O" and I did".
So who is the bigger liar?
You sure didn't complain when "O" was lying like a rug.
I know,, I know... It's OK when your clown does it.

Todd Juvinall

Oh, BoobieC you lefty critics can't seem to give any credit to Trump for anything. And we see you telling us Obama is the reason America is booming. We simply laugh at you.

George Rebane

Actually lots of projects, developments, constructions, are hopefully started under one administration, and the reapproved, cut, or let lay fallow under a succeeding administration. People unfamiliar with how the government works think that multi-administration projects need only one approval to move toward completion.

Menopausal Bob......a “canned crowd” is a long time staple of the left.....keep waving that little flag or they’ll shoot you!

Biden watch continues.

“During the '08 race, @BarackObama said, "How many times is @JoeBiden going to say something stupid?" Obama almost dumped him in '12, and tried to talk Joe out of running in '20. Obama probably didn't want the world to see that, for 8 yrs, this airhead was a heartbeat from the WH.” —Larry Elder.

“Joe, you don’t have to do this.” Barrack Obama, 4/19.

Biden watch continues.

“The Eagle-Tribune, a local Massachusetts newspaper, reported the former vice president’s campaign only enticed “about 30 supporters” to attend an event held in Manchester, New Hampshire at the same time Trump was hosting his rally in the state.

“We are here because we are standing up to hate just down the road,” Biden’s New Hampshire organizing director told the handful of people that turned up for the event. “This is our moment, our chance. We need to talk to people now about what [Joe Biden] can do.”

“Biden, who has retreated from the public eye after several high-profile gaffes consumed his campaign last week, did not attend the event himself. Despite the candidate not being present, the small crowd did display some energy, according to the Eagle-Tribune, especially when they chanted ‘Go, Joe! Go, Joe!’ in unison.”

Wow. Go Joe! But the question remains is where did Joe go to?

“I don’t know, I think Sleepy Joe may be able to limp across the finish line,” Trump said before citing stories that Biden’s allies were suggesting he cut down on campaign events to limit gaffes.

“[T]hey are going to cut way back on his appearances because he is such a disaster, Trump said to laugher from the crowd. “Can you believe it? If I ever did that, it would be over. The fake news would get us, but we don’t let them get us.”

“Boy, he’s made some beauties, I sort of hope it is him,” the president added.

The Biden watch continues. Unconfirmed reports say Joe was spotted with his dog at an In-n-Out burger joint in Los Angeles.

With all this anti-gun hysteria spreading across town like an loose elephant with diarrhea, is it just me or did anyone else notice the anti gunners were eerily quiet after that Antifa nutjob with a rifle tried to kill ICE agents (and illegals) in Tacoma, after that ex-con shot six LE officers in Philly ,and after the most recent wack job shooting at the ICE office in San Antonio? The shooter is loose, running amok down in San Antone, yet the Leftinista fakenews brigade is on full lockdown crickets mode. And here I thought it was about White Supremacists with guns. I thought something has to be done!

Bill Tozer

Somebody probably already posted the news from Slate that the New York Slimes build their entire newsroom for two years around the Russian Hoax. Now they pivot to racism, racism as in everything everywhere. Now they just threw up their hands and decided to be like PMSNBC and just cater to their base, the far left Leftinistas.

“New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet accidentally admitted to the whole wide world that for two years his far-left newspaper was “built” around spreading a hoax.

“When I say “accidentally,” what I mean is that he likely didn’t know he was being secretly recorded and that his remarks would be made public.

“He also admitted the Times’ staff is loaded with left-wingers “who cheer us when we take on Donald Trump, but they jeer at us when we take on Joe Biden.”

“Yeah, there’s a real shocker.

“Slate somehow got a hold of a recording of a company-wide meeting Baquet held with his left-wing staffers, and it is an illuminating look, not only at the fall of the Times’ own credibility, but how the news media in general has been infested with entitled, left-wing cry-bullies who only want to see the media used — not to inform the public — but to propagandize left-wing causes.

“What I mean is that the whole reason for this meeting was to placate a newsroom full of babies who are still pouting over that one time the Times did not slam Trump in a headline.“

“Here we sit in the most tolerant, diverse country in the world just a few years after having twice elected a black president with the middle name “Hussein,” and the people in charge of the media are breaking down into pools of self-pity because they want to scream racist at us even more than they already have.”

“And again, let’s not forget that the only way they can try to pretend America is racist is by way of massive hoaxes: the Very Fine People Hoax, the Covington Hoax, the George Zimmerman Is White Hoax, the Hands Up Don’t Shoot Hoax, the Jussie Smollett Hoax, and the countless hoax hate crimes they spread over and over and over again without scrutiny.

“This very same New York Times has no desire whatsoever to cover a truly disturbing rise in antisemitic hate crimes in its own city. And why not? Well, because those crimes are politically inconvenient, are not committed by the correct people.

“Again, I’m not being sarcastic… The New York Times openly admits that anti-Jewish hate crimes don’t interest the Times because white supremacists are not behind them [emphasis added]:

“If anti-Semitism bypasses consideration as a serious problem in New York, it is to some extent because it refuses to conform to an easy narrative with a single ideological enemy. During the past 22 months, not one person caught or identified as the aggressor in an anti-Semitic hate crime has been associated with a far right-wing group, Mark Molinari, commanding officer of the police department’s Hate Crimes Task Force, told me.

“In fact, it is the varied backgrounds of people who commit hate crimes in the city that make combating and talking about anti-Semitism in New York much harder.

“So let’s boil it down… The New York Times spent two years spreading a hoax, will spend the next year spreading another hoax about Trump being racist, and has no interest in covering an actual rise in anti-Jewish hate crimes because the haters are not wearing MAGA hats.”

Snopes vs The Babylon Bee.

“If anyone still held out hope that Snopes had no left-wing bias whatsoever and only existed to debunk fake news along with wild internet rumors, the "fact-checking" site's shameless attack on the satirical news outlet The Babylon Bee should bury that inkling six feet under a pile of "False" ratings.

“Weeks after The Babylon Bee obtained legal representation against the fact-checking site for unfairly rating their openly satirical articles and for suggesting that the outlet deliberately misleads their readers, Snopes released a report on Friday justifying its attack on the Bee by suggesting that Republicans are too stupid to know the difference between fake news and satire.”
“Facebook later issued The Babylon Bee an apology and ended its partnership with Snopes nearly a year later. But nevertheless, Snopes persisted.” (Sounds like a roach coach serenader who frequents here)

“Rather than just simply rate stories from The Babylon Bee as "Satire" or leave them alone for people to discover on their own, Snopes took the fight one step further when it publicly accused The Babylon Bee of using satire as a cover to deliberately spread fake news.” (Conspiracy!)

The internet can be brutal. It changes the way we commute.

"Snopes thinks Spinal Tap is a real band and Brawndo is a real sports drink," tweeted Sean Davis.

"Fact checks by Snopes regarding the Babylon Bee were among the most like a stalker-ex-girlfriend of any fact-checking content found on the Internet," said one Twitter user.

"Sometimes satire is easy to spot, says Snopes, sometimes not, which is apparently why they fact checked whether CNN actually purchased a wash machine to spin the news," said another.
And, of course, the Babylon Bee got the last laugh....and Roberta and her legion of Fact Checkers:

U.S.—As part of a detailed review of prominent online news outlets, a large team of fact-checkers at Snopes.com unanimously voted The Babylon Bee as the world’s most accurate news source, Snopes editors revealed Friday.

After reviewing over 1,200 of the Bee’s articles, opinion pieces, and exclusive news stories published over the site’s eighteen months of existence, the Snopes team all agreed that the Bee was “far more accurate” than competing news sources.

“It’s not even close,” Snopes writer Kim LaCapria wrote as part of the announcement. “Whereas sites like CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC are constantly dropping the ball, The Babylon Bee has never gotten a single fact wrong.”

“They are the one true news source, the pinnacle of trustworthy journalism,” she added reverently“

Todd--when trump does something other than take credit for other people's work he might get some kudos.

George-10:05 -- you have an innate ability to come up with BS excuses. People unfamiliar with how the government works think that trump is actually doing something besides boasting and lying.

Todd--when trump does something other than take credit for other people's work he might get some kudos.

Todd....what Roberta means by “do something” is whomping up another bloated federal program. What Trump seems to be doing is peeling back the regulatory onion to let others do for themselves.

Roberta hates that!

.....trump is actually doing something besides boasting and lying.

Sorry Menopausal Bob......Trump is a politician.....boasting and lying is the top line in the job description. For further clarification refer to the multiple speeches where “I” was in the top five of the word count for a Barry O’Dummy speech.

“Freedom of speech under trump: say what he wants to hear or nothing under penalty.”

Rather odd statement coming from a Nazi anti-Semite. Me thinks Roberta DUI Crossman has once again confused speech on the clock with speech on your own time. Boy, imagine what a frustrated waitress dealing with pompous condescending jerk asshole customers with their spoiled out of control kids would say if given the chance to really speak her mind. Oh my.

The factory paid the employees to take a day off with pay from the assembly line and show up and keep their opinions to themselves. If you can’t handle that, just stay home and not get paid for the day. Me thinks the folks that run the plant are more to blame for stifling free speech on the clock than what blame Bobbie tries to place on the President of the United States.
I could relate a story of being paid and driven to show up at a big red carpet event at a 5 Star Hotel/Convention Center when Mr.Big came to town (big eye roll)...with my mouth shut while listening to Mr. Big giving kudos to liberal CEOs....but I signed a non-disclosure agreement that prevents me from saying how I felt about that. All pays the same.

Hey, wait a moment. Didn’t Obama say those jobs are not coming back? Was that a lie?
Quick, let’s run to Poltifact and check the Trump truth-o-meter.

Oh my. Look what Politcalfact did not report.

Boy, if I hitched my wagon to that falling star of The Enemy of the People, I would be as uninformed and look at ridiculous as those that swallowed the entire Russian Conspiracy Hoax hook, line, and sinker....and be spouting that Trump would be gone in Spring of 2019 and the crisis the border was manufactured by Trump to distract from impeachment woes and Mueller was going to nail Trump’s ball to the wall and his kids would be led out of the WH in handcuffs, and Iran shooting down “allegedly” a drone was really a Trump Wag the Dog Master Plot, and a tank at the Washington Mall was the start of Trump declaring martial law and unconstitutionally declaring himself Dictator for Life and....well, I best stop before I get too wordy (again).

Meanwhile, back on PMSNBC, there is a disappointed boy looking host of the Roberta Maddow Show that has announced that Trump’s impeachment is coming anyway now for the 7th time this year.

Don’t sweat the small stuff, Bobbie. It’s the big stuff that matters. That you should strive to get right a big one right for once. Just once. Twice would become a habit.

LOL Bill!! Not going to let Bobby forget that drunk "family* " member. Now how come That vary same thing crossed my mind just the other day?????

Walt. How did the bar-b-que go last time the topic came up? Oh, forgot to tell ya. The Bar-B-Que Guy Gorka had on said the most important thing: That the biggest mistake most people make is overcooking the meat. Seems to be a universal mistake. Not just the meat, but the side dishes as well. Need to keep the meat and whatever else on the grill from overcooking to preserve their distinct flavors. Most common mistake is overcooking so it all tastes the same. Or as Gorka joked, “to keep from tasting like Hungarian Goulash. Forgot to relay that important tidbit.
Well, speaking of freedom of the press and the treat to our democracy and the day that punk disgruntled journalist from Playboy/CNN who got into it with Gorka...the punk was upset that conservative social media invitees were sitting in the Rose Garden and those chairs in the Rose Garden were meant for “real journalists”, not conservative types. In fact, he was so upset that the press was put behind the ropes and cordoned off, that he crossed under the rope and started harassing the guests, calling Trump a “f**king moron.” He was causing a scene, so much so that the Secret Service came over and literally escorted the punk who thinks he is a “journalist” out of the area and back behind the ropes. That is when the cameras started rolling with the guy still yelling insults and Gorka charged over and called him out. “You are a puke, not a journalist.”

Is Playboy still around? Heard CNN is still being watched by stranded passengers held hostage in airport bars awaiting their next flight to get the hell out of there.
The event was for conservative social media types who found a way around the iron fist lock fakenews has on what stories to cover and what we should think. The press was free to watch the event, but it was not for them. That did not sit well with the obnoxious bastard. Now he is really pissed, roflmao.

Bill. The chow came out pretty good. My problem is, that I keep changing what I'm doing. Now since you brought it up, I had a wicked idea an hour ago. NEVER deep fried anything in my life.
That may change tomorrow. Fried chicken with a ranch dressing batter. Has someone else done it? Probably. Not even going to look at the internet to find out.

“That may change tomorrow. Fried chicken with a ranch dressing batter. Has someone else done it? Probably. Not even going to look at the internet to find out.”

That’s my MO. I got tired of looking on line or at the recipe book trying to remember what they said to do what and when and how during the process. Lately I just check to see what I got in the cupboards, come up with an idea, and when it comes to crunch time, I throw all the books and ‘how to’s’ out window and go for it. Freedom! Trailblazer. One time I made a marinade sauce that was so awfully bad and spicy hot and strange that even the dogs would not eat the drippings off the meat. Well, the little they did eat left such an impression they would not make that mistake again. :). They suspiciously sniffed every single offering for a month after that colossal failure. Other times, “Viola!, a genius prepared this feast that delights even the most discriminating palate.”
Don @ 4:23 pm

Of course the DCCC is in disarray and can’t find any replacements. The ones who would qualify as suitable are all out on the campaign trail making fools of themselves. Bad time to clean house and rebuild from scratch.....right as campaign mode is gearing up and no one left with experience to steady the DCCC ship in crisis, roflmao.

"Strassner received a piece of CCTV footage from the county through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which showed the former worker tearing another piece of paper from a latex glove box.

The employee who gave him the note worked for VMD Corp., a government contractor based in Virginia working through the TSA.

Strassner said the company promised to get in touch with him about the incident by August 13. When he did not hear back by Thursday, Strassner uploaded the video to Reddit. The company responded in two hours.

TSA then announced that the employee was fired."

In the "I'm a sick puppy and need therapy because I don't know fact from fiction" category: Prez trump has recently been claiming, as recently as last Thursday, to have been awarded the 'Michigan Man of the Year'. As it turns out, trumpy may have been a little confused, as are all of you, as to what really happened. Trumpy was the keynote speaker at the 2013 Oakland County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner in Michigan. At the event, he was presented with a tie, a statuette of Abraham Lincoln and a framed copy of President Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. Apparently, probably because trump can't read, he mistook the framed copy of Lincoln's famous speech for a 'man of the year' award and has been bragging about it ever since. Former GOP Representative, Dave Trott, who was chairman of the event and invited trump to speak said Trump gave a “rambling speech touching every topic under the sun” but didn’t receive any awards. “There was no Michigan man of the year award.” Government by reality TV... it would be really funny if it weren't so sad and didn't effect people's lives around the globe.

" didn't effect people's lives around the globe.” Hang on Rachel, I will get to that at the very bottom (last sentence) of this shocking turn of events.

Hmmm. Trump did visit the Shell plant. Now he has teamed up with Fat Michael Moore to fight the the Eco-Crucifix scam on the public. That is one big fat Hoax they both have joined forces to fight. Tag Team against Evil. No holds barred.

“When the wind stops blowing, it doesn’t make any difference, does it? Unlike those big windmills that destroy everybody’s property values, kill all the birds,” the president said at a Shell petrochemicals plant in the Keystone State.”

“According to the piece’s author Michael Donnelly, [Michael Moore’s new documentary] Planet of the Humans is “the most important documentary of the century”. And perhaps he’s right. I certainly cannot think of a more egregious, Enron-style scam than the global renewables industry. I once got myself in trouble with the Australian Press Commission for quoting an Australian farmer saying that wind farm industry troughers were as bad as paedophiles. But I think this is unfair on paedophiles who are often quite incapable of controlling their ugly urges. People in the wind industry, on the other hand, engage in their disgusting activities by choice.”

“What we do know is that people who understand the problems with renewable energy have been predicting these black-outs and brown-outs for years.

“Let us be clear: Britain is facing an unprecedented crisis. Before long, we will lose 40 per cent of our generating capacity. And unless we come up quickly with an alternative, the lights WILL go out.

“This is why Michael Moore’s broadside against wind is so welcome: the renewables industry is well used to attacks from the right, which it can easily dismiss by pretending that its critics are ideologically biased science deniers in the pay of Big Oil. What it’s not used to is attacks from its ideological soulmates on the left.

“As Turning Point’s Charlie Kirk is wont to argue, if you want to defeat a leftist don’t bother trying to beat him on facts and logic but rather try to remove from him the one thing he really cares about: the moral high ground.

“Moore’s documentary, by the sounds of it, makes a pretty good hash of showing that the virtue-signalling billionaires pushing renewables aren’t really in it to save the world: all they really care about is the money.

“So, Planet examines a range of policy influencers/professional environmentalists/opportunists, etc. and even lets them hang themselves. It not only takes on the obvious bad guys like the Kochs, it lets folks like McKibben, Al Gore, Richard Branson, Robert Kennedy, Jr, who are ostensibly on “our” side, hang themselves by showing clips of them speaking to environmentalists and then clips of them speaking to industry about all the profits to be made.

“McKibben is shown twice praising Biomass (they gave him every chance to condemn it), interspersed with a scene of a mountaintop removal operation in his home state of Vermont –- for a wind farm!

“Robert Kennedy, Jr. informs his fellow millionaires of all the profits to be made on “green” energy. Al Gore basically admits it’s all about diversion and profits. Branson, like eCon Musk, of course, is solely in it for the money.

“Fellow billionaire Michael Bloomberg got down to it and basically bought the Sierra Club with tens of millions in donations tied to the Club promoting one of his cash cows, Fracked Natural Gas, as the “Bridge Fuel to a Green Energy future!”

Hang those snake oil salesmen from the nearest Eco-Crucifix. Hang them high for what the bastards did effecting the lives of people around the world. I spit on their graves of the Greenies.

Your Michigan Man of the Year is trying for a Chapter 25 deferment from 2020 elections. He's clearly got dementia. Strong, strong denial if someone claims he is behaving rationally. His baseline was pretty low, but Trump seems openly confused on a pretty regular basis. At least he can proudly display his Michigan Man of the Year Plaque as he parades around in his boxers. Just keep telling him his new clothes make him look like a young, slender stud.

Another indicator that the socialist dem clown car fight will not end well for them -

So many of them are quietly predicting and preparing for a Trump victory in 2020. Some are even trying to game out who will be on the president’s team in a second term. The belief that Trump will win re-election — gleaned from conversations with around 20 foreign diplomats, international officials and analysts who deal with them — appears widespread.

Must be in tune. Been thinking the same thing for a couple of days. Judging by the Resistance’s comments lately, they just don’t see inspired or overly optimistic about 2020. They were much more confident a few months ago about stomping out Trump. Now they just nitpick and focus on Todd Derangement Syndrome.

Maybe it’s Sleepy Joe already taking a vacation and came back needing another one. Who knows. I caught about 3 minutes of Trump in New Hampshire going through his riff of accomplishments and laying out this vision for America. I just stood back and could not imagine any Dem standing up to him. The charisma, the gravitas, the star power, the command of the stage, his presence, his unwavering utter confidence. The clarity of purpose. I imagined Lizziy Warren trying to complete with that. Saw something in that 2-3 minutes as defining.
They had venders selling tee shirts and MAGA hats off the road 17 miles from the arena. It reminded me of what someone told me years ago. The guy lived in New York in one of the boroughs. He heard a commotion, felt something in the air. He saw people coming out of their apartments and into the streets. He could not see what was going on, but he went down to join the swelling crowd. People where coming from all the avenues. It was Jimmy Carter walking down the streets of New York with folks spontaneously following him like the Pied Piper.

Once was in a club and out of nowhere, I could feel a surge of excitement in the air. Didn’t know what it was, but it was semi-electrifying. What was it? Ali had walked in the place. It that “thing” I can’t describe. Nothing to do with looks or intelligence or knowledge. It an ingredient that you either have it or you don’t. AOC has that “thing quality”. Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan do not. Neither does Biden or Warren or the next Democrat nominee. As the HRC campaign said early on, they were prepared for the 17-19 R candidates, but there is nothing in their playbook for taking on a TV personality. They only knew how to destroy politicians, but this was new.
Anyway....I am waiting for the energy level of my friends on the dark side of the street to rise and up their game. They just don’t seem positive about anything. Like telling someone with a frown and withdrawn introspective look in their eyes to “smile”, only to have them shoot back, “What’s there to smile about?” They just don’t have that thing going on for them.

Life has lost its pleasures for them. A sad lot. They confuse anger with purpose. Maybe some shock therapy will help them snap out of it. It takes more muscles to frown than to smile.

@ 2:41 pm.

“Not so good” sounds like an A for effort. Did you try the Colonel’s secret recipe of 17 herbs and spices.? Probably would not have helped. Learn something new everyday. :)
I have good news. Leaving CA story. A couple I have known for many moons left CA. They both worked in a hospital, he ran a whole department and she was a receptionist or something. Down in Santa Cruz area. Two different hospitals. In fact, he was so good that UC Davis Medical Center and others wanted him to run their labs, but he declined.
Anyway, the wife was feeling bad and kept asking the doctors to check her out, run tests, and figure out what is going on. She kinda knew. They did not find anything, but she knew it was something bad. A gentle spirited woman, she kept asking for them to check.

So, they move out of state to fly over country and the local hospital there zeroed in and found the problem instantly. Tumor, Stage 3 cancer in the bowels area. Bingo. Oh, the couple called and raved and raved and raved over the care she is getting, how wonderful all the medical people are, and they have never seen such care ever, despite spending years working in hospitals. They are so happy they want to fly me out and visit their new place.. Her treatments are showing amazing process.
Leaving CA may have saved her life.
The other good news is a couple days ago I had to go down to Placer County. Picked up a Canadian quarter in the change. I hate that, and usually catch those worthless coins and don’t let it slip by me. Oh well. On the way back, I saw some roach coaches at a park and stopped to grab some grub. Good grub if you know what to look for and check them out first.
Anyway, there was this freaky old hippy sorrowful looking guy playing his guitar nearby. So, I walked over and threw some coin in his beggar’s open guitar case laying on the ground in front of him. I was most pleased to get rid of that Canadian quarter. Life is good indeed.

Oh boy,

What does it mean to be a liberal in today’s world? More than anything else, to be a liberal is to be anti-American.

In the Times’ view — which it hopes to make the view of millions of Americans — the country was actually founded in 1619, when the first Africans were brought to North America, to Virginia, to be sold as slaves.

This year marks the 400th anniversary of that event, and the Times has created something called The 1619 Project. This is what the paper hopes the project will accomplish: “It aims to reframe the country’s history, understanding 1619 as our true founding, and placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of the story we tell ourselves about who we are.”

The coincidence of slaves arriving in Jamestown, Virginia in 1619 has been seized on by liberals as an excuse to talk more about slavery–a subject that an objective observer might think had already been talked to death. The “400th anniversary” was to be celebrated by the City of Minneapolis in bizarrely racist fashion, with “white bodied” and “black bodied” city employees attending different consciousness-raising sessions. Those events were canceled after we brought them to light.

The basic thrust of The 1619 project is that everything in American history is explained by slavery and race. The message is woven throughout the first publication of the project, an entire edition of the Times magazine. It begins with an overview of race in America — “Our democracy’s founding ideals were false when they were written. Black Americans have fought to make the true.” — written by Times writer Nikole Hannah-Jones….

The idea that “everything in American history is explained by slavery and race” has become conventional wisdom on the Left. Basically, nothing good has ever happened here, at least not until recently. The Left now includes the public schools, so that one of my kids came home from second grade with the understanding that Martin Luther King had freed the slaves.

The essays go on to cover the economy (“If you want to understand the brutality of American capitalism, you have to start on the plantation.”)…

The fakenews is so wrong again. WINNING! -

Nearly half of the manufacturers, 47.9 percent, said tariffs had no effect on selling prices. Another 10 percent said there was a significant or slight downward effect.
Another 35.3 percent said the tariff had a slight upward effect on prices.

The results appear to confirm that the main effect of tariffs in the U.S. has been to squeeze corporate margins rather than to tax U.S. consumers. In the survey, 44.9 percent of manufacturers said there was a slight downward effect on their bottom lines, while 6.5 percent said there was a significant downward effect. On the other hand, 11.6 percent said there was a slight upward effect and 3.6 percent saw a significant upward effect.

This suggests that it is misleading to describe the Trump tariffs as a revival of “protectionism.” Older protectionist measures were typically the result of domestic manufacturers seeking to boost their bottom lines at the cost of higher prices to domestic consumers. Here it appears that domestic consumers are not paying higher prices.

Those RINO bastard Koch Bros. may be in a little trouble.
All those illegals they hired ain't coming to work.
"Illegal workers fled a number of Georgia food processing plants this past week after highly-publicized raids by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency at five Mississippi plants.
This month, ICE agents conducted the largest workplace raid in more than a decade across five food processing plants in Mississippi, netting the arrests of 680 illegal aliens. That same day, though, ICE officials said they released about 300 of the illegal workers back into the U.S. on “humanitarian grounds.” More than 200 of the illegal workers had prior criminal records and a federal criminal investigation is expected to result in convictions of the employers at the plants. The raids have already resulted in job fairs at some of the plants seeking to hire locals."

"Though it is unclear which food processing plants in Hall County saw their illegal workers flee following the ICE raids in Mississippi, the region is home to plants such as Koch Foods of Gainsville, Victory Foods, Koch Meat Inc., and Cargill Inc."

Intersectionality on the West Bank??? Riddle me this, Omar and Tliab

If Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar had made their visit to “Palestine,” their time would have been devoted exclusively to bashing Israel. Their attacks would have combined American-style leftism with Palestinian religious solidarity. And yet, as Scott has pointed out more than once, there are obvious tensions between Islam and the contemporary Left, as embodied by the Squad. What branch of Islam is it, exactly, that celebrates abortion, homosexuality and transgenderism?

It would be interesting to see a reporter ask Tlaib or Omar about this news story: “PA Bans LGBTQ Activities In West Bank.”

The Palestinian Authority has banned members of the Palestinian Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community from carrying out any activities in the West Bank.

The ban came after the grassroots group Al-Qaws for Sexual & Gender Diversity in Palestinian Society, (Arabic for the bow), which engages and supports Palestinians who identify as LGBT, was planning to hold a gathering for its members in Nablus at the end of this month. …

Explaining the decision to ban the LGBT group from operating in PA-controlled areas, Luay Zreikat, spokesperson for the PA Police, said that such activities are “harmful to the higher values and ideals of Palestinian society.”

Zreikat said that the group’s activities were completely “unrelated to religions and Palestinian traditions and customs, especially in the city of Nablus.”

He accused unnamed “dubious parties” of working to “create discord and harm civic peace in Palestinian society.”

The PA police will chase those behind the LGBT group and see to it that they are brought to trial once they are arrested, Zreikat warned. He further appealed to Palestinians to report to the police about any person connected to the group.

Members of the Al-Qaws group report receiving death threats. (“[M]any are calling for our execution. We are afraid for our lives.”) Of course, it could be worse. They could be in Iran, where Omar says all problems are caused by the U.S. There, they would be hanged from cranes. We eagerly await comment from Rashida and Ilhan.

Virtual Signaling to make the blues go away. VDH

Note a recent inexplicable Zogby poll that indicated 51 percent of blacks and Hispanics might support Donald Trump. How would such a supposedly counterintuitive result even be possible?

I have a suggestion: minority communities live first-hand with the violence and dangers of the gang gun culture. More policing and incarceration of guilty felons improve their lives. Secure borders mean fewer drug dealers and cartel smugglers in local communities, fewer schools swamped with non-English speakers, and social services not overwhelmed with impoverished non-Americans.

These can all be real concerns for beleaguered minorities. Yet they are virtue-signaled away by progressive elites whose own power and money allow them to navigate around the consequences of their own liberal fantasies that fall on distant others.

Add in a booming economy, rising incomes, and low unemployment for minorities, and the world of shrill yelling on the debate stage about “white privilege” seems some sort of an irrelevant fixation of the elite and privileged, akin to showing off a Gucci bag or Porsche Cayenne—but otherwise nothing to do with dangerous streets, wrecked schools, whizzing bullets, and social services that are becoming inoperative.

The next time a legislator, mayor, or governor rails about plastic straws or the Paris Climate Accord, be assured that his state’s roads are clogged, his public schools failing—and he is clueless or indifferent about it.

Pick a page, any page on the ZA site as far back as you want to go and Trump is getting chicken dinner. Gotta wonder what their source of fair and balanced funding comes from? Only a stool would cite Zogby as a reference.

Todd Juvinall

Zogby has been accurate for many years. You don't like him because he is a Arab. You are a racist!

Todd Juvinall

Got an email back from Elias the columnist the Union publishes. He was crowing what a wonderful thing our "citizens commission" is on redistricting. He claims we lost those Con seats in November because of Trump. I said perhaps you should review th five times millions the democrats got in those districts from Soros etal. Start with the unknown babe in Tom Macs and review.

J. Barron

Brilliant Todd. As long as an Arab has nothing but praise for Trump, Trump has not a harsh word to say about an Arab with a bone saw.

Judicial Activism squashed...for the moment.

Fox News reports: “A federal appeals court sided with the Trump administration on Friday in the legal battle over its efforts to limit asylum claims from Central America — blocking, for now, a nationwide injunction that blocked the implementation of the rule. … The San Francisco federal appeals court for the 9th Circuit on Friday ruled that the injunction imposed by the California federal judge can only apply in states within the court’s jurisdiction in the western U.S.”

Bill sez: The 9th Circuit covers a lot of western states like Nevada, Montana, Washington, Hawaii, but the only two states under the 9th Circuit’s jurisdiction that abut our southern border are CA and Arizona.
More on individual Federal judges issuing nationwide injuctions..

“Columnist David Horowitz reveals just how partisan Gilliam really is. “In 1996, the Northern District of California, the very court over which Gilliam presides, ruled that the president has ‘inherent executive authority’ over denying entry to aliens,” he writes. “That is the purpose of this border wall.”...

“Justice Clarence Thomas believes SCOTUS must enter the fray. “These injunctions did not emerge until a century and a half after the founding,” he states. “And they appear to be inconsistent with longstanding limits on equitable relief and the power of Article III courts. If their popularity continues, this Court must address their legality.”

More on the Virtue Signaling by the Left to distract from the real issue and real problems where the rubber meets the road. Walter E. Williams

“Here are my questions to those who blame racial discrimination for the problems of black people: Is it necessary for us to await some kind of moral rejuvenation among white people before measures can be taken to end or at least reduce the kind of behavior that spells socioeconomic disaster in so many black communities? Is it a requirement that we await moral rejuvenation among white people before we stop permitting some black youngsters from making education impossible for other black youngsters? Blacks were not the only people discriminated against in America. While Jews and Asians were not enslaved, they encountered gross discrimination. Nonetheless, neither Jews nor Asians felt that they had to await the end of discrimination before they took measures to gain upward mobility.

“Intellectuals and political hustlers who blame the plight of so many blacks on poverty, racial discrimination and the “legacy of slavery” are complicit in the socioeconomic and moral decay. Black people must ignore the liberal agenda that suggests that we must await government money before measures can be taken to improve the tragic living conditions in so many of our urban communities. Black and white intellectuals and politicians suggesting that black people await government solutions wouldn’t begin to live in the same high-crime, dangerous communities and send their children to the dangerous schools that so many black children attend.“

Nature Magazine publishes it list of blacklisted Climate Deniers, catching even some of the 97% Agreeing Climate Change True Believers consensus fellows in its snare. Oh my. Let the games begin.

“With respect to climate, as on pretty much every other issue, the Left is losing the argument and responds by trying to silence those who point out the facts. The jury is still out on whether this will prove to be a winning strategy, but on this particular front, it appears that the bad guys are in retreat.”

“Roger’s unpardonable sin, going back over a decade now, was embarrassing Al Gore, by pointing out that some of his arguments in his climate horror flick “An Inconvenient Truth” were not supported by the UN science reports, and that some of his reasoning about weather-related disasters were so poor that Gore actually changed his slide show. The first commandment of the climate orthodoxy is Thou Shalt Not Deviate from the Talking Points, even if the “consensus” science contradicts them.”

Bill Tozer

Preamble to my 3:15 pm. Did you make the list?? Anthony Watts did. More reason to celebrate!

“I downloaded the list of “climate change contrarians,” and what do you know? John and I are both on it. And based on the numerical score they assign to everyone, I am ranked 40th among climate change contrarians! (Marc Morano is number one, with a raw score of 4171, compared to my raw score of 262. Morano is truly the Pete Rose and Hank Aaron of climate contrarians.) I feel good about my score since I more or less quit doing climate change issues seven years ago in preference to old fashioned law and political philosophy in my current post as a traditional academic. The whole subject has become such a tedious and repetitive bore that I’ve run out of new things to say about it, and I get easily bored repeating myself. I don’t think I’v e been quoted in a news story—or even called by a reporter—for more than seven years now, and yet my old record is still good enough for a #40 ranking. This only goes to show how weak the climate change cause is, if I can rank so high on their enemies list while doing virtually nothing. Besides, with the climatistas embarrassing themselves on a daily basis, I don’t really need to do much besides sit back and fire up my coal-powered popcorn machine.

“Here’s the roster, where I appear just below Freeman Dyson and just above Ross McKitrick—pretty great company I am proud to say:”

The list: Rudy made the list, as well as T Rex and John Sununu. Where is Russ? Try harder Russ and get on the list! I am rooting for you, Mr. Steele.

@ 11:40 am calls Victor Davis Hansen a fool. Considering the source and the Zogby context of the article, I would say Ms. Ozziesmith-Rockjiggerhumper maybe should stick with Virtue Signaling and ignore the rest.

Holy Smokes, another fool quotes Zogby the Arab! What in the tarnation is going on today?

“Last Thursday, a self-described “Feminist” dad and “Gun Sense Reform Advocate” who happens to be white posted an incendiary tweet in which he said he would say “#F***Trump and f*** you” to anyone he saw wearing a MAGA hat in public, calling MAGA wearers “racist, xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic, bigoted hate-mongers.”

“Please, miss white lady, tell me what my interests are? Because I’m just some slow black guy and I don’t know any better, right?”

“The constant drumbeat of the Left for decades is that blacks have no business voting for the Republican Party, despite the fact that it was Republicans who ended slavery; that Democratic president Woodrow Wilson segregated the entire Federal civil service and threw civil-rights leader William Monroe Trotter out of the Oval Office; and that Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s very first Supreme Court Nominee, Hugo Black, had been a member of the KKK, as had been former Senate Majority leader Robert Byrd.

“As Mona Charen noted in National Review in 2015, 99 Democrats signed the “Southern Manifesto” in 1956; only two Republicans signed it. She stated, “The Southern Manifesto declared the signatories’ opposition to the Supreme Court’s decision in Brown v. Board of Education and their commitment to segregation forever.”

“Rasmussen Reports stated on August 2 that Trump’s support among blacks had risen to 32%. As recently as last Thursday, pollster Jonathan Zogby, noting Trump’s support rising in general, stated, “Race also played a factor in Trump’s job approval rating. Hispanics, this time around, were much more likely to approve of his job performance (49% approve/51% disapprove), while the president also saw his numbers jump with African Americans. This was his second straight poll with over a quarter support from African Americans (28% approve/70% disapprove). If Trump wins half of Hispanics and a quarter of African Americans in 2020, Democrats will be in trouble!”

The Democrats will be in trouble? Will be? Will be, the writer sez. Me thinks they are in trouble now. Have you seen the fools that are running for the Dem nomination and the even bigger fools that support them? Oh my. Mercy.

Robert Cross

In the "yet another lie to cover up anal bluster". trumpy and his goons have been claiming that the tariffs on Chinese goods aren't costing American consumers anything.. well not so fast trumpites....according to JP Morgan analysts the current tariffs are costing Americans $600 a year and when the new tariffs scheduled to go into effect Sept. 1st and Dec. 15th, kick in the cost to American consumers for trumps bluster and threats will rise to $1,000 per year. Contrary to trumpian proclamations, the added costs of the tariffs are passed on to the consumer.

This just in from the 'condoning rape and incest' isn't popular' dept. Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) who recently claimed that humanity might not exist if not for rape and incest held a town hall meeting. Does that make us winners? Yep, the left could not field breathing candidate who had better numbers than Trump. BoobieC just can't accept his part in the fiasco of the left/.

Tariffs don't exist if people buy American made so what this tells me is the manipulation by China to devalue their currency is so low they are still competitive. So BppboeC coddling the Chicoms has worked. Thanks BoobieC for keeping the Chicoms strong. Next you will blame us when they invade HK.

Steve King makes gaffs just like BoobiC's hero Biden. But with Biden BoobisC still won't condemn him. So BppbieC you are just another leftwingnut hypocrite.

But Babs!! You have an elected Muslim chick who married her Brother.

Poor Bobby. His Iphone will cost plenty more because of the tariff. So buy a different phone. I don't buy apple crap.
MY LG phone does the same job an a cheaper price.

The troll touts a guesstimate as proof yet the cost indexes do not reflect that at all, they are actually trailing inflation when you take out non-tariffed items.

So which one of our LIBS has volunteered his property for the new homeless camp? (oh,, yaaaaa... NONE!)
Is Bobby going to pay for the shithouses? Emery? Jiggers?

CNN has turned into a caricature of a news network and is not even any good at it. You get caught lying your ass off for 2 years of rancid Russian dressing and you viewers will flee. They earned that spot in the basement and not even the trapped people in airports and gyms can save them now!

Neither CNN nor Chris Cuomo have offered “an apology to the black community” for repeated use of the mocking label “Fredo,” despite both describing the term as an “ethnic slur” and an equivalent to “the n-word,” noted Paris Dennard, former CNN contributor, on Monday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

Dennard examined CNN’s pretense as a non-partisan and politically objective news media outlet, highlighting CNN’s plethora of Never Trump personalities marketed as “Republicans.”

“It seems as if they masquerade as someone who wants to have Republicans on, right?” asked Dennard of CNN’s political veneer. “They say, ‘Let’s put on some Trump supporters,’ but the moment the Trump-supporting person on the network gets popular or gets really good, they find a reason to bench them or to take them off, but they’ll keep the Republican on that might be a Never Trumper or someone who is against the administration on into perpetuity.”

This is from a speech I heard way back in the 80's. this is when Americans had character and class,

"You can go to live in France, but you cannot become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany, or Turkey or Japan, but you cannot become a German, a Turk or Japanese. But anyone, from any corner of the Earth, can come to live in America and become an American"

In the "I really won the popular vote, really really I did.... just ask me" category --

Trumpy, once again, claimed election fraud this time citing a study by Robert Epstein (no relation one hopes) who claims that Google's search algorithms could have given Hillary Clinton up to 16 million votes from undecided voters. Google says the study is flawed because Epstein only interviewed 90 total people only 21 of whom were undecided voters. Trump's bogus claim comes just days after Ellen Weintraub, the chair of the Federal Election Commission, wrote a letter to the president telling him to shut up about his vote-fraud claims or come up with evidence that there’s any truth to them. She said she was using words a “former casino operator” could understand: “You need to lay your cards on the table — or fold.” Just think of trump's mighty investigative panel on voter fraud that came up with nothing and disbanded. Hillary Clinton responded to the latest round of bullcrap by saying, "The debunked study you’re referring to was based on 21 undecided voters. For context that’s about half the number of people associated with your campaign who have been indicted."

and there you have it trump fans...more of the same ole same ole...from the trumpster. Have any of you considered mental illness is his problem? he keeps repeating the same lies over and over and over even though they have been debunked ....#SICK PUPPY
