"And just what is the evidence that Trump has "funneled" hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars into his businesses while president?"
-George Rebane

Oh, maybe little things like housing military and hosting state sponsored (tax funded) events in his own resorts? Slipped yer mind I guess.

Todd Juvinall

Ig I recall people pay for their rooms. Do you have links Jiggy for your allegations?

Scott O

Jiggles - 7:25: So, when Obama was pres the govt just got all the rooms and resorts for free?
Love how the lefties pretend to be so concerned about money when Trump takes office.
And -
Welcome back, George!

Housing the military? Good luck with calling a night layover "housing" jigged for brains. You know jigged how the military works. Never does a military fight take the same route home twice. The crew didn't route the flight, flight ops did. Is Trump "flight ops"? You have proof he made a phone call?

When I was in Ireland, there is a Trump resort there too.
I would have got the same "perks". But just too far outside our trip route.

Better call for an investigation of why Delta flew into Beale
not long ago. Trump may have been playing favorites.

Jig Wiggly

Todd- You are so bright. "people pay for their rooms". Really? When was the last time any government official paid for his room while on government business? And when the taxpayers pay for a government official at Trumplandia, the profit goes to . . . see if you can finish the sentence.

LOL Babs,, Your BOY "O" holds the record for golfing expenditures. How soon you Proggys forget.

Speaking of "O",, the ECO bastards lose another one.
"The Trump administration is officially rolling back an Obama-era environmental rule that threatened farmers and other landowners with significant fines or jail time if they failed to comply with onerous regulations on waterways."

One more thing the still LIB infested EPA, won't be able to screw people over with. Especially those trying to create defendable space from fire around their property.

Bill Tozer

Oh, that silly Roberta Maddow.

“Here, in Maddow’s telling, is the rub: The United States Air Force refueled one of their C-17 aircrafts at Prestwick Airport on a return flight from Kuwait this spring. Maddow insists that it would have been “much cheaper” to fuel up at a military base — a supposed fact that heightened her alarm about the propriety of the stop in the first place. If this seemingly strange choice in fuel station weren’t enough, the Air Force subsequently stayed overnight at the Trump-owned Turnberry Resort. Both of these actions, said Maddow, were highly unusual and enough to arouse suspicion of malfeasance. Indeed, it was proof that the “U.S. military is in on it now,” the “it” being the Trump administration’s “corruption” and violation of the emoluments clause. The event might even reveal endemic corruption in the armed forces and could serve as a broader indictment of “the U.S. military and its integrity.”

I’m glad I sat down.

“The Air Force replied to the Politico report by challenging several key assertions made by both Maddow and Politico. First, the Prestwick Airport was independently contracted by the Department of Defense, and both parties agreed to terms that would allow the department to refuel at “standardized prices” — precisely the going rate that Maddow scoffed would be available only at a military base. Next, the Air Force’s use of the airport adjacent to the Trump hotel does not appear to be a novel phenomenon meant, as the Politico article speculates, to “line the president’s pockets.” Instead, well before the president’s inauguration, records show that the Air Force had used the small airport 95 times in 2015 and 145 times in 2016. While the number of stops there has since increased — the Air Force reports stopping in Prestwick 259 times through August of this 2019 — it is not as though the location was unknown to the Air Force or the Department of Defense until the president roped them into a secretive money-funneling gambit. And there are strategic features that make the otherwise obscure airport in Prestwick a preferable location for refueling. From the Air Force’s statement:

“Additionally, Air Mobility Command [AMC] issued a flight directive to mobility crews in June 2017 designed to increase efficiencies by standardizing routing locations, with Prestwick being among the top five locations recommended for reasons such as more favorable weather than nearby Shannon Airport, and less aircraft parking congestion than locations on the European continent that typically support AMC’s high priority airlift missions. By considering factors like these to save costs and increase operational efficiencies, Air Operations Center contingency planners have increasingly turned to Prestwick to develop route plans for lower priority contingency needs such as training, deploy/redeploy and Guard airlift missions.”

Bill Tozer

TThe Secret Service paid former Vice President Joe Biden $171,600 in rent for a guest home on his property while they were protecting him, according to purchasing orders.

“Landlord Joe Biden will keep collecting rent checks from the agency that protects his life thanks to another contract extension that allows Secret Service agents to continue staying in a cottage on his Delaware property.

“The latest extension, signed on May 6, boosts the overall value of the contract to more than $100,000 since the agency first started paying Mr. Biden a few years ago.

“The arrangement, first reported by The Washington Times, puts Mr. Biden in the unusual position of being both a sitting vice president and a vendor for the federal government at the same time.”

And just as fast, the pet Proggys go silent. DAMN those pesky facts.

,,,yes Bill,,,keep talking about fuel...Meanwhile,,,googling Prestwick Intl. and hotels nearby, there are at least 10 hotels in Prestwick village under $100 a night including a 3 star hotel on the water within 2 miles of the airport. TrumpWorld Turnberry is 20 miles away and $319 a night.

,,,Ethically challenged much Mr. Bill??? Trumpworld properties should avoid trying to make money off the taxpayers at least until he is out of office in a year or so...

George Rebane

RobertC - I deleted your 841am. I asked a civil question for which you provided no answer, and responded with an ad hominem. You may get away with that with other commenters, but keep that up with me and we're going to miss you.

George Rebane

Re Trump "funneling" funds into his own pocket, my 629am comment in the last Sandbox included - 'And just what is the evidence that Trump has "funneled" hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars into his businesses while president? And if there were a shred of evidence to support that, Team Nadler, with Nancy waving pom-poms, would have the President impeached on the emoluments clause in a heartbeat. Even a Republican Senate would have a hard time not convicting him in that case. You should forward your evidence to the House Judiciary Committee.'

I would still like to read a reasoned response to this from our worked up leftwingers. And Jig's 725am is a laughable attempt to provide evidence by just repeating a form of the original allegation as being proof of the president's graft.

yes Mr. Bill,,,a whopping $2,200 a month rent! for the SS to stay close to Biden,,,duh,,,so they can protect him!!!

,,,George,,,not sure about the worked up leftwingers but Tozer appears to be especially triggered this morning!!!

I'll forgive your blind devotion to Dear Leader on jet lag. You make yourself look silly by denying common knowledge and pretending the allegations that Trump has profited bigly at our expense are liberal lies.

Bill Tozer

BM @ 9:39 am.

Yep, at least when VP Pence went there, his crew got a discount at $137/night for nicer digs. If you have a problem with that, take it up with the DOD. Or, see Dr. Rebane’s 9:49 am. I am sure the House committees are on it at this very second. Even you can file an ethics complaint. Demand your Congressperson to investigate. He/him/she/her may share you blind hatred. :).
Boy, this is sad. My Gal pretending she is POTUS. With all the posters here who could not bring themselves to ever vote for Hillary (Punchy, Gregory, Fish, Scott O and more), one has to look high and low on this site for one single Hillary voter. Sad.

Googling room rates? LOL!!!!! Somehow you want them to stay at the likes of Motel 6.

Ahead of tonight's slugfest, the following lightly edited observation...

"Inside every [left-]liberal is a totalitarian screaming to get out." - David Horowitz

It's evident NONE of the Proggys here have set foot in Scotland or the UK for that matter to see what local "motel" accommodations actually are. Believe me. They are not anything like what you're used to here. Many make Super8 look great.
Considering the ones here who are doing the bitching, and military haters to begin with, that's exactly the kinds of places they would want them to lay over.

Jig Wiggly

When I worked for CDF during college, Super 8 is exactly where we stayed much of the time.

And yes, I have been to the UK and no, I don't have any grudges against our military. I defy you to find where I have implied that. On the unemployment dole still? Did you get turned down from the goose shit raking gig for the rich Republicans at Wildwood?

Bill Tozer

Walt @ 0:14 am.

Motel 6? Do they have conference rooms? Nah, there are better options.

Yup, a lowly Cal state employee. That's exactly where you should have stayed. A far cry from a pilot who worked real hard to get to where he is.

Its the economy stupid! -

In 2018, U.S. median household income hit its highest level in nearly two decades, reaching $63,200, with the median income for women, Hispanics, and Asian Americans all reaching new record highs. Between 2017 and 2018, the real median earnings of all workers rose by 3.4 percent to $40,200, with median family income rising to an impressive $80,700. These income gains are in addition to the higher take-home pay Americans received thanks to tax cuts.

In addition, the poverty rate fell last year to 11.8 percent, its lowest level since 2001, with a record low among blacks and Hispanics. In President Trump’s first two years in office, nearly 2.5 million people were lifted out of poverty, including nearly 1 million American children. In contrast, the number of Americans in poverty increased by nearly 800,000 under Obama.

Didn’t Kamala Harris start this probe? Judge rejects prosecution’s request for gag order.

“Everything that Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation have been trying to do is an attempt to shut down and silence anyone who knows about their scheme to sell baby parts and organs for profit,” said Daleiden’s lead counsel Peter Breen. “Their heinous practices have involved exterminating babies born alive and manipulating abortion techniques without informing the women they’ve victimized. These bad players – the abortion industry movers and shakers – are doing terrible things for money.”

“Daleiden and Merritt are the first undercover journalists to be criminally prosecuted in the history of the state of California, noted Liberty Counsel, which represents Merritt.

“The journalists were slapped with 15 felony charges by the office of the California Attorney General (AG), including its past AG, current U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, and her successor, Xavier Becerra. Harris received thousands of dollars in campaign donations from Planned Parenthood and, subsequently, she and her office raided Daleiden’s home and seized his personal property, including his laptop, instead of prosecuting the abortion giant.

“Liberty Counsel reported this week that, while, in 2015, biomedical company StemExpress publicly denied the authenticity of the CMP videos, while under oath the company’s founder and CEO, known as “Doe 12,” testified the documents shown in the CMP videos are authentic StemExpress documents....

“The following day, however, “Doe 9” admitted in court that the video was accurate and that her discussions with the video journalists had not been edited or altered.

“Additionally, witness “Doe 7,” a non-physician who performed surgical abortions for Planned Parenthood Northern California, had also testified that she regularly provided tissue from babies she aborted at Planned Parenthood, as CMP reported.”

"U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu has recommended moving forward with charges against Andrew McCabe, Fox News has learned, as the Justice Department rejects a last-ditch appeal from the former top FBI official.

McCabe -- the former deputy and acting director of the FBI -- appealed the decision of the U.S. attorney for Washington all the way up to Jeffrey Rosen, the deputy attorney general, but he rejected that request, according to a person familiar with the situation."

Who is this for? The penguin chick or for the SWJs?

“When confronted with that reality, zookeeper Charlotte Barcas was at a loss as to explain exactly how the penguin, deemed genderless by humans, would even know it wasn't supposed to operate as either a girl or boy penguin.

“Asked why they were raising the chick gender neutral, Barcas replied, “What we wanted to do with this chick was give guests an opportunity to meet that individual and learn about its personality without assigning it any sort of preconceived sort of gender roles."

“Sure, sure. And how does she plan to make sure the penguin knows it's not supposed to conform to constricting, oppressive, outdated penguin gender roles? Well, she has no idea.

“It’s a really sort of difficult subject to navigate specifically,” Barcas said.

Well, there a new exhibit in Chicago that features a genderless T Rex, so I reckon MSNBC is ahead of the curve to feature it’s genderless top host.

Hmm. What to expect tonight at the Democrat Socialists Debate in Houston. I expect it to be boring. Boring in the sense that they will all be spouting the same thing with little variety. Medicaid for all, Green New Deal, ban this, ban that, ban everything, Orange Man Bad, free college for everyone, free this free that. Free the children. Maybe Yang will come up with moving people to higher ground or banning circumcism again or maybe another discussion of busing. Nah, probably not. Boring. I do like the idea of free abortions for men who identify as women. That should not cost much.
The race to the Left continues unabated. I always felt (with feeeelings) that the Fakenews is way more to the Left than where their Dem party arm is and that the candidates tonight are way more left than where the average Joe Bag of Donuts Democrat voter is.

In the "I'll scratch your back if you scratch my back" category; President Donald Trump’s nominee to head the U.S. Air Force told senators at her confirmation hearing Thursday she wouldn’t specifically ban members of the military branch from spending taxpayer funds at the president’s properties. Barbara Barrett refused to tell the Senate Armed Services Committee whether she thinks it is inappropriate for Air Force personnel to spend government funds at Trump-owned businesses. Staff at the Glasgow Prestwick Airport reserved 208 nights for U.S. aircrews last year, up from 116 the previous year, during refueling layovers. The number of overnight stays the first eight months of this year is already at 220. Prestwick and trump's Turnberry resort were both losing money prior to trump's election. Now both are in the black with Prestwick earning $21 million from US gov't contracts alone. Apparently, The airport routinely books government travelers into Turnberrry.

So the question is; the president's nominee to head up the Air Force either doesn't seem to think funneling tax payer dollars into trump's pocket is unethical or a conflict of interest. OR
She knows it is but won't say so for fear of getting fired before she even starts..just like all the rest of the trump lackeys.

Looks like the troll missed the news that a local contractor booked Trump resort as it had the lowest military rate, 30 bucks a night lower than the next lowest in the region. As to another 100 nights, if you have a crew of 7 stay for two or 3 days that's 21 nights so it does not show a hundred flights. But what can you expect from trolls?

“Privately, however, it appears the Blasey family had significant doubts about what Ford was trying to accomplish by coming forward and making unsubstantiated allegations against Brett Kavanaugh. Within days of Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, a fascinating encounter took place. Brett Kavanaugh’s father was approached by Ford’s father at the golf club where they are both members.

“Ralph Blasey, Ford’s father, went out of his way to offer to Ed Kavanaugh his support of Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, according to multiple people familiar with the conversation that took place at Burning Tree Club in Bethesda, Maryland. “I’m glad Brett was confirmed,” Ralph Blasey told Ed Kavanaugh, shaking his hand. Blasey added that the ordeal had been tough for both families.”

According to Gallup, Americans believe the second-highest factor deserving blame is “the spread of extremist viewpoints on the internet.”

The Americans blame “easy access to guns” thirdly, but only ranked access to firearms four percentage points above the blame they placed on “drug use.”

“But it may surprise analysts to know that my people, the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, proved crucial to Bishop’s victory.

“They shouldn’t be surprised. The Lumbee are culturally conservative, church-going and entrepreneurial. And more and more of us are distressed by the leftward lurch of the Democratic Party....

“Many Lumbee feel that the national Democratic party has simply left them behind as they’ve embraced more extreme social and economic positions. We’re tired of Democratic policies that insult our faith and fail us economically. Democrats’ opposition to voter identification laws, support for abortion-on-demand and attacks on religious liberty have alienated many Lumbee.

“Locally, Robeson County has been dominated by Democrats since the post-Reconstruction era, and we have little to show for it. We consistently rank high in social ills and low in health and economic well-being.

“Bishop’s embrace of President Trump during the campaign helped him with Lumbee voters. On the backs of Lumbee voters, Trump became the first Republican since 1972 to win Robeson County. Trump won in 2016 in part because he campaigned against the free trade agreements that have devastated our communities.

“But Lumbee support cannot be guaranteed or taken for granted by either party. Any candidate who wants to win our votes must take the time to visit Lumbee Country, fight for Lumbee values and pull their weight in the 134-year struggle for full federal recognition.

“For decades Lumbees were told by their local leaders which candidates to vote for, and typically those candidates were Democratic. In Tuesday’s special election, many Lumbee broke with the tribal leaders to pull the lever for the Republican...

“We hold strong to the values of family and hard work. And at the moment, the Republican Party does a better job of respecting those values.”

Something just heard that I hadn’t given much thought to......Robert Francis was the Democrats preferred choice to run against Team R in the next (Texas dammit....!) senate race! That is now effectively dead with his very public call for confiscation!

Buh bye Beto!

"spewing out a stream of propagandized lies" -- rebanes' ruminations

George Rebane

JigW 1005am - Well, it looks like Rebane's claim was and still is correct, pending the outcome of court findings. It ain't done until it's done. Let's keep our eye on Nadler. But your comment and link do contribute to the ongoing emoluments debate - thank you.

Now Roberta.....one mans stream of propagandized lies are just another mans Beto O'Rourke debate speech.

The kind of statement a jiggered "jon" would make.
"CLAIM: There were not enough ambulances available to save the victims of a recent mass shooting in Odessa, Texas.

VERDICT: FALSE. The City of Odessa said that its ambulances responded to the shooting quickly."

So I see who "jon" would vote for.
Liars stick together.

Creepy grampa joe is nothing if not consistent -

The Democrats’ third presidential debate was a long-winded, platitude-filled disaster where no single candidate could claim a clear victory. Instead, the seven men and three women took turns displaying why they are all probably unelectable.

Start with Joe Biden’s incoherence. The nominal frontrunner, the former vice president had a 40-year reputation for never shutting up. Now he can’t manage to finish a sentence without interrupting himself.

Nearly all his efforts to make a point were swamped by a sudden change of direction mid-sentence, and then another change a few words later as a random thought popped into his head and out his mouth. None of his rivals needed to interrupt him–he did it to himself.

Most of the time I had no idea what he was trying to say, let alone what he actually said. I veered between feeling sorry for him and expecting the AFLAC duck to come out on stage and shake its head in bewilderment.

More fakenews that was embraced by the socialist dems and their trolls -

It also reported that the contract with the Prestwick Airport was in fact signed during the Obama administration. The Washington Post also reported that the airport was sending visiting crews to Trump’s course before he ran for president.

Nope,, they can't tear down and destroy history they don't like.
"Circuit Judge Richard Moore ruled that a Virginia state law created to protect memorials prohibits the city’s plans to remove the statues.
“Moore issued a permanent injunction preventing the statues from being moved at the beginning of a trial over a lawsuit brought against the city by groups that wanted to preserve the statues,”
The law in question is the Code of Virginia “Memorials for War Veterans” rule, which states:

It shall be unlawful for the authorities of the locality, or any other person or persons, to disturb or interfere with any monuments or memorials so erected, or to prevent its citizens from taking proper measures and exercising proper means for the protection, preservation and care of same.

Moore’s ruling came as part of a lawsuit filed by a group hoping to protect the statues from the left-wing politicians looking to move them.

The suit, filed in March 2017, alleged that when the city council announced that it intended to destroy the statues to C.S. Gens. Robert E. Lee and Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson, it was violating the very law that Moore affirmed in his ruling."
Moore recognized that the statues have become controversial, but he was obliged to order that they stay where they stand. He wrote in the ruling:

While some people obviously see Lee and Jackson as symbols of white supremacy, others see them as brilliant military tacticians or complex leaders in a difficult time … and do not think of white supremacy at all and certainly do not believe in, accept or believe in such. In either event, the statues to them under the undisputed facts of this case still are monuments and memorials to them, as veterans of the civil war."

Ocasio-Cortez said, “When it comes to climate change, what is not realistic is not responding … with a solution on the scale of the crisis—because what’s not realistic is Miami not existing in a few years. That’s not realistic. So we need to be realistic about the problem.”

“The science is pretty settled we have only 10 years left to stop climate change. I mean, people have been saying that consistently for decades.” —Frank J. Fleming
And more Daily Quotes

Upright: “There used to be the old saying that … when white America catches a cold, African Americans get pneumonia. Well, it’s going the opposite way now. White unemployment is going down. African-American unemployment is going down. That’s a plus-plus that you can’t argue with. And as I said earlier, I give the president credit for doing positive things.” —BET founder Robert Johnson

Observations: “The AR-15 is owned by 20 million+ Americans. Democrats argue they can’t deport 21 million illegal aliens, but they’re going to confiscate semi-automatic rifles.” —Katie Pavlich

Circling the wagons: “[The American people] understand that impeachment is a very divisive measure, but if we have to go there, we’ll have to go there, but we can’t go there unless we have the facts, and we’ll follow the facts and we will follow the obstruction that the president is making … and make a decision when we’re ready.” —House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

Epic fail: “Play the radio, make sure the television — excuse me, make sure you have the record player on at night, the phone — make sure that kids hear words.” —Joe Biden outlining his education plan

The BIG lie: “Comparing this president to the president we [had] is outrageous, number one. We didn’t lock people up in cages. We didn’t separate families.” —Joe Biden

Disputing two sides of the same coin: “In terms of democratic socialism, to equate what goes on in Venezuela with what I believe is extremely unfair.” —Sen. Bernie Sanders

Non compos mentis: “We are the wealthiest country in the history of the world. And yet we have the highest child-poverty rate of almost any country on Earth.” —Bernie Sanders

Straight from the horse’s mouth: “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47. We’re not going to allow it to be used against a fellow American anymore.” —Beto O'Rourke

Alpha jackass: “On August 3rd, in El Paso, Texas, two things became crystal clear for me and I think produced a turning point for this country. The first is just how dangerous Donald Trump is. The cost and the consequence of his presidency. A racism and violence that had long been apart of America was welcomed out into the open and directed to my hometown of El Paso, Texas, where 22 people were killed, dozens more grievously injured by a man carrying a weapon he should never have been able to buy in the first place, inspired to kill by our president.” —Beto O'Rourke

Race bait I: “Anyone who supports [Trump] is supporting racism.” —Pete Buttigieg

Race bait II: “If I am president of the United States, we will create an office in the White House to deal with the problem of white supremacy and hate crimes. And we will make sure that systemic racism is dealt with in substantive plans from criminal-justice reform to the disparities in healthcare to even one that we don’t talk about enough, which is the racism that we see in environmental injustice in communities of color all around this country.” —Sen. Cory Booker
