Although Yang does not have a snowball’s chance, he encapsulates the Lefties perfectly. There is no place in your life they believe that government cannot reach into and tell you what to do. What kind of car you can drive, what you can eat, how you travel.....

“None of this is speculative anymore. We need to wake up and let you know that you're not on your own," Yang said. "This is not a you problem, this is an us problem. What do sophisticated, advanced societies do? We solve the problems on the ground."

I do find it amusing that Walt thinks that having some remaining snow fields visible in the Sierra Nevada in September is somehow an indicator that 1) the climate is not changing, 2) this is somehow an unprecedented occurrence, and 3) not acknowledging it as some sort of unprecedented occurrence is a sign of denial that the climate is not changing.

Greg, your buddy needs a tutorial on the difference between weather and climate.

As a resident of the 6000 foot level for more than 39 years now I can anecdotally attest to the fact that we usually have snow fields that last through the summer, usually "visible from Truckee."

But as someone more influenced by science than the anecdotal I can also attest to the fact that the vast majority of scientists who have studied the issue agree that snowpack is shrinking, has been shrinking for the past few decades, that precipitation is coming in pulses with a higher degree of year to year variation than in previous decades, and that that will have profound impacts on California's water supply and the timing of its water supply, our storage systems and capacity, snowfall accumulation between 5000 and 8000 feet, particularly in the northern Sierra and Cascade, and the economies and people who depend on it.

I know I am just opening the sluice of denialist bullshit that regularly comes form these pages and people, but perhaps a few lurking open minded readers will be curious and explore on their own. :)

Steven Frisch

Oops, there is an awkward double negative in there I regret, and I have lived at 6000 feet for 31 years not 39--that's a typo.

You go with that Stevey. It's "special" snow that's heat resistant.
Is that why you idiots went with "climate change"? So no matter what happens, you can claim to be right?

Again, you refuse to answer.. Just when did climate NOT change?

I can show you the remains of a forest in the Arizona desert.
Did we do that?

Gotta love your ambitious Pres. hopefuls. The end of the gas powered car by 2030. DO explain how that's going to work.

Steve @ 9:19, notwithstanding a bit of gratuitous snark, your comments appear to be entirely correct. No doubt you are aware that tree ring records (not Yamal trees) are quite useful in showing past rainfall trends and the Ca is well-known for past mega-droughts that lasted decades or even centuries.

Were these caused by higher temperatures back then? If so, then we've been here before and if not, you got some explaining to do.

Just for the fun of it, I'd like you to list the extreme weather events of your lifetime that lie outside the range of normal climatic variability; it literally shouldn't take any time at all, 'cause there aren't any.

Tornados, floods and droughts are holding steady over the last 150 yrs for which we have reasonable records. Hurricanes, by contrast, are declining in frequency as well as intensity, which is exactly what we would expect in a gradually warming world.

Your attached article was more of the usual crap from my alma mater; I'd be interested in hearing from their engineering department on the subject.

My takeaway from the article is that I'm well advised to pay attention to the historical records of all kinds and ignore the blind modeling so much in vogue among the AGW hoaxters. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Bill Tozer

Science is cool. Now, how much of Climate Change is due to man’s activities? What percent, how many degrees?

In passing, I'll note that Trump wasn't quite as daft as some imagine in re: Cat 5 hurricanes. Turns out that that term hadn't been used prior to 1973 as 4 grades apparently were enough for earlier, less panicky generations.

This was several years after I, and presumably Trump, had finished our formal educations. Old habits are hard to break and all...

Mr. Frisch; I lived in the Modesto area when they built the New Melones Dam on the Stanislaus River in the late 1970s. During that period California experienced a drought. When finished, the experts stated it would take five years to fill the lake behind the new dam. Well, we had a wet winter and the lake filled in one year.

During this last hot spell we had, the forecasters thought Sacramento could break the old record for the high temperature for the date...108 set in 1920.

We have had swings in the weather for years. Just now, people like you are making money off of scaring the hell out of people and telling them we only got ten years, send your money to me so I can save you. You would have been great in the lead in The Music Man.

A purveyor of progressive propaganda bites the dust -

Top officials at CAP had been searching for a buyer to take over ThinkProgress, which has run deficits for years, and according to sources there were potentially three serious buyers in the mix recently. But in a statement to staff, Navin Nayak, the executive director of the Center for American Progress Action Fund, said the site was ultimately unable to secure a patron.

Good News Friday!

Walt, climate is unusual warm and dry weather. Weather is unusual wet and cold weather.

We are in for an interesting ten years, 20 years, 30 years, 40 years. We just came off an unusually cool and snowy winter in the Sierra Nevada, and the little Frischies like it but expect it's just an anomaly on the way to the hot and dry hell they just know is our Doom because of the petroleum economy they want to bring down.

Now, every time a solar or astrophysicist starts talking about galactic cosmic rays, sunspots, the heliosphere and the spectre of Maunderish solar Minimums during cycles 26 and 27, Steve and friends stick their fingers in their ears and chant "naaa, naaa, naaa, I can't hear you" but if there's going to be a rip-roaring Maunderish Minimum going to be in place by 2030, there will be cooling, in fits and starts, over the next ten years.

Will the winter of '19-'20 be a repeat of '18-'19, or colder and wetter, or warmer and dryer?

Place your bets.

I think progress is served by ThinkProgress shutting down.

my 1238pm continued:

Now, as the decade progresses, how cold and wet does it need to get before the Democratic Party hegemony in California begins losing statewide? How badly will so-called Progressives act before their religion, with CO2 as the daemon at the center, begins collapsing in California and across the nation?

Or will people like me just have to slink back into our corners and kiss our asses goodbye in the heat?

I doubt the latter.

Speaking of "climate change" This dude who ain't going to be President got it right.
"Presidential candidate Andrew Yang on Wednesday compared automation to climate change, saying that they are “easy to ignore at first, but already having calamitous effects and set to accelerate.” "
Yup,, it's called LIBERALISM "climate". Demanding 15 bucks an hour for unskilled workers was a great idea. Right?
A self serve kiosk took the place of a cash register jockey.
So instead of 6 workers at the McD's counter there are only 1 or 2.

Good job UAW. Robots don't strike.
If it's repetitive, a machine can do it.

The more Proggys stick their nose into the business of business, the more low skilled (and high priced union labor) will go to a machine.

Keith @ 10:58 I well remember that drought (1976-77). It's when 'Friscans' learned to flush less frequently. Nowdays, they just cut to the chase, saving even more water. Progress, Kali style!

Now, as the decade progresses, how cold and wet does it need to get before the Democratic Party hegemony in California begins losing statewide? How badly will so-called Progressives act before their religion, with CO2 as the daemon at the center, begins collapsing in California and across the nation?

Political futures: “The 2020 election is going to be a referendum on President Trump. People who do not like him will either vote Democrat or stay home. Either helps the Democratic candidates. They can be as outlandish as they want and are gambling that the President’s behavior will be more outlandish and the election will be about the President. Then, should they win, they can say they made no secret of their radicalism and clearly the American people are okay with it.” —Erick Erickson

For the record: “[The Democrats’] answer to everything is more government control. We want to control what you eat, we want to control whether you can fly, we want to control how you eat, what utensils you use. Everything is more government control and limiting freedoms, and they also want to limit the economy of the United States of America. There is no way our country can lead on any issue if we are going through a recession, if we don’t have high wages and great jobs.” —GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel

Friendly fire: “Experts say Democrats’ assertions are accurate, to a point. Fighting climate change will create jobs. Yet the rosy net numbers, some warned, don’t tell the far more complicated story of what that green growth could look like.” —The New York Times’s Lisa Friedman in her piece, “Democrats Say Their Climate Plans Will Create Jobs. The BIG lie: “[Mitigating climate change] is the hardest thing we will have done — certainly in my lifetime as a country. This is on par with winning WWII — perhaps even more challenging than that.” —Pete Buttigieg

Pipe dream: “In my administration, we won’t be building new nuclear plants. We will start weaning ourselves off nuclear and replace it with renewables.” —Sen. Elizabeth Warren

My my. The Lefties are obsessed with Climate Change, complete OCD bonkers obsessed. Make sense since the Leftinistas have such few things to talk about. Racism, guns, Climate Change, and Orange Man Bad. Climate Change, Climate Change, Climate Change is racist, and blame Orange Man Bad for all of the above.

What Hot Spot?

“The warming trend we found suggests we are having a relatively minor impact on global temperatures. From the IPCC, we know what the forcing was over that 37.5 years – how many extra greenhouse gas molecules there were and what forcing they would represent. We also know about the effect of aerosols. Taking all this data together, we can calculate what I call – and we were the first to use this term – the ‘tropospheric transient climate response’. In other words: how much temperature actually changes due to extra greenhouse gas forcing. The calculation includes a major assumption, namely that there are no natural variations left in the temperature data, and in particular that there are no long-term natural variations. It’s a huge assumption, but it allows us to move on.

“Our result is that the transient climate response2 – the short-term warming – in the troposphere is 1.1◦C at the point in time when carbon dioxide levels double. This is not a very alarming number. If we perform the same calculation on the climate models, you get a figure of 2.31◦C, which is significantly different. The models’ response to carbon dioxide is twice what we see in the real world. So the evidence indicates the consensus range for climate sensitivity is incorrect.”

I suspect the warmistas will begin to fade as soon as they become fodder for late night comedians.

While the science is solid in the latest paper from John Christy, it's a white paper through the GWPF and not a peer reviewed journal, so expect the Frischies to ignore it.

I do note Christy's 1.1 degree for a doubling is very close to Nir Shaviv's 1.2C, calculated from basic thermodynamics and temperature measurements. And again, any number less than 2.0C is not expected to result in runaway feedback events. No tipping points. Smaller than natural effects.

Hummm,,, what's missing from the ECO rants???,,,??? OH YES!!
The planet killing ozone hole. Not a peep. But only if you dig deep to find that info.
I love how they come up with fictitious numbers.
"Recognition of the harmful effects of CFCs and other ozone-depleting substances led to the Montreal Protocol on Substances That Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1987, a landmark agreement to phase out those substances that has been ratified by all 197 UN member countries. Without the pact, the U.S. would have seen an additional 280 million cases of skin cancer, 1.5 million skin cancer deaths, and 45 million cataracts—and the world would be at least 25 percent hotter."

Notice how they threw in a little extra for the AGW true believers?

Another thing you can thank a LIB for.
"Projections from the Association of American Medical Colleges say the U.S. will see a shortage of 46,900 to 121,900 physicians by 2032 in primary and specialty care."

Anyone who been paying attention who was/is looking for a career will think twice about medicine. Why in hell would you knowing that when LIBS regain power would limit what you can charge and make?
As it is right now, a Dr. is spending more time filling out gov. forms and fighting insurance.
The minute Proggys get control it's "O"losercare on steroids.
If your a VET, good luck getting anyone outside the VA to give you the time of day. " Nope, we don't take VA people".

I sure hope you clicked through the cover page I posted from UCLA IoES to read the full study by Dr. Alex Hall.

Well, Gregory, I dunno about late night comedy, but the warmunists faded from this blog as soon as an inconvenient request for examples went unanswered at 10:17.

Steve really should get on the trolls' case for their lack of support when the going gets tough- they'd rather switch to insults and ad homs. Sorry Steve, you deserve better.

I sure did, Steve, and it didn't disappoint. It isn't peer reviewed and it has all the gravitas as the Christy paper from the GWPF.

There isn't one mention of solar cycles or cosmic rays. Just a bunch of handwaving.

So Steve... why can't you recognize you're only reading pieces by cosmic ray deniers?

NOAA disavows National Weather Service tweet that contradicted Trump

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released a statement Friday evening disavowing a days-old tweet from the National Weather Service that contradicted President Trump over the reach of Hurricane Dorian.

The NOAA statement, which was unsigned and posted to the agency's website on Friday, said that the "Birmingham National Weather Service’s Sunday morning tweet spoke in absolute terms that were inconsistent with probabilities from the best forecast products available at the time."

Why does the lefty press insist on getting it wrong?

Steve @ 3:21- I went back to re-read your link but found that downloading the full report would take more time than I have to spare on this particular study. The graphic at the end of your link does an adequate job of illustrating their claims; what's lacking is a causal connection between CO2 and the different outcomes they suggested, between mitigation and business-as-usual. Until someone can demonstrate that the equilibrium climate response to a doubling of CO2 is substantially larger than 1.1 C, I'll continue to satisfy my interest in the opposition view by confining my reading to summaries.

Nothing against learning, but there's only so much time available and many, many things of interest.

None of this is to suggest their prediction is wrong, merely that it isn't proven.

Colder winter in 2019-2020 than 2018-2019? Check this out, the number of growing degree days this year are declining by as much as 25% in critical agricultural regions of the US. More details here:

Based on the available data I would predict a cooler winter this year, than last, which was cooler than the year before. What happened to the warming?

Russ. I'm pretty sure the true believers will use the tried and true stand-by excuse..."It's just weather".

Walt... it *is* just weather.

And climate *is* just cumulative weather.

An unmistakably cold '19-'20 might turn a few more percenters towards climate realists. Eventually, I'd like to see LIB candidates being competitive, but this will take a collapse of the Democratic Party.

A man can dream, can't he?

I'd not be surprised if the Warmistas at the top know this and are just holding on by their fingertips... imagine had Hillary won or Obama had held onto the Senate... they'd be crowing how they changed the world just in the nick of time (to take advantage of a natural variation in the direction they promised).

The attack on robot workers(spawned by LIB ideals) begins.
The LIBs still want their taxes!
"Democrat presidential candidate Bill De Blasio announced on Thursday that if elected, he would impose a national “robot tax” and create a new bureaucracy to regulate automation.

In a Wired op-ed, De Blasio wrote: “As President, I would issue a robot tax for corporations displacing humans, and create a federal agency to oversee automation.”

He said his “proposal would institute a ‘robot tax’ on large companies that eliminate jobs through increased automation and fail to provide adequate replacement jobs.”

De Blasio called for a tax increase by taking away full expensing of new equipment, and said companies would “be required to pay five years of payroll taxes up front for each employee eliminated.” "

But only the G-man will profit from those funds.. Not one displaced worker.

If you can’t dazzle them with your brilliance, then baffle them with your bull pucky.
Another study debunked.

The study, which found a 226 percent increase in white-nationalist propaganda and hate crimes in counties that hosted Trump campaign rallies, failed to account for political campaigns’ preference for hosting rallies in highly populated areas that naturally tend to experience more hate crimes, according to the analysis conducted by Harvard P.h.D. candidates Matthew Lilley and Brian Wheaton.

“Lilley and Wheaton were able to replicate the initial study’s findings with respect to Trump rallies, but found an even greater increase in hate crimes in counties that hosted Clinton campaign rallies during the same period.

Once the researchers controlled for population size, the effect of Trump rallies on hate crimes became “statistically indistinguishable from zero.”

What Motivates Democrats: Stopping Climate Change, or Ending Capitalism?

For many climate activists, the real enemy is modern society.

“One question leading climate activists should be asked is this: “If the planet suddenly started cooling rapidly, would you be in favor of increasing carbon emissions to keep the planet warm?” This admittedly annoying question is meant only to highlight a simple point. Environmentalists’ concerns over global warming fit nicely with their general anti-capitalist bias. But if there were a conflict between the two priorities and they had to choose one, which would they choose?

“Some environmentalists would probably increase carbon emissions, or embrace some other kind of geo-engineering, to stave off an ice age. But many — or most — would say that nature should be allowed to take its natural course, and what humans need to do is stop mucking around with it. These environmentalists would presumably be okay with global warming if the cause were natural as opposed to anthropogenic.

“This points to a deeper ambivalence about the actual risks of climate change. Joe Biden was criticized for admitting that the U.S. decarbonizing alone wouldn’t make a difference. “The fact of the matter is that we make up 15 percent of the problem,” he said. The rest of the world makes up 80, 85 percent of the problem.” But even if the entire world implements the most sweeping climate proposals, it would not guarantee that climate change would be stopped. And even if such policies actually succeeded in holding temperature increases to the current target of the Paris climate agreement, there is currently no scientific method that could definitely establish climate policies as the reason that temperatures stopped rising. In other words, not only is there reasonable doubt that climate policies would work, we might never be able to know that they did work.“

The usual suspects engage in espionage. No really we discovered it on our own comrade. -

A Russian citizen was arrested in Italy last week for allegedly orchestrating a five-year scheme to steal General Electric’s trade secrets—and claim they belonged to the Russian state, according to the Southern District of Ohio US Attorney’s Office.

Alexander Korshunov, a former Russian foreign ministry official and an employee of the state-owned United Engine Corp. (UEC), colluded with Maurizio Bianchi, a former director at an Italian subsidiary of GE Aviation, according to a Department of Justice statement issued today. Both men have been charged with conspiring and attempting to steal trade secrets from a US company and could face up to 10 years in prison, the statement said.

On Korshunov’s behalf, Bianchi allegedly hired current or former GE Aviation employees as consultants between 2013 and 2018. They were paid to create a technical report about jet engine accessory gearboxes, for which they used GE Aviation’s trade secrets, the statement says. The firm Bianchi was working for allegedly had a contract with Aviadvigatel, a branch of UEC that the Department of Commerce flagged last year for “acting contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States.”

Despite the intellectual property belonging to GE, the employees’ statements of work allegedly said “the holders of patent and intellectual property obtained as a result of the work are…the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.”

NEW YORK — In the run-up to President Barack Obama’s controversial nuclear deal with Iran, the U.S. military under the Obama administration reportedly used American spy satellites to monitor Israel Defense Force actions out of concern that the Jewish state would strike Iran’s nuclear program.
The detail was contained in an extensive New York Times Magazine story titled “The Secret History of the Push to Strike Iran.” The story says it is based on accounts with “dozens of current and former American, Israeli and European officials,” including many top American and Israeli officials cited on the record.

The piece documents the fractured relationship between Israel and the Obama administration on a host of issues, especially disagreements over the emerging nuclear talks with Iran. The Israeli government was initially kept in the dark about the early talks that eventually became the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the deal that President Trump would later withdraw from.

The Times reported that Obama saw the JCPOA as the “centerpiece of his foreign-policy legacy.” For Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, however, the newspaper reported that the deal would, according to The Times’ characterization, “be the ultimate betrayal — Israel’s closest ally negotiating behind its back with its most bitter enemy.”

Frisch: Snow Depth in the Sierra Nevada Has Changed Little in More Than 100 Years, According to New Study

It’s well known that California, and especially the Sierra Nevada, can have wild fluctuations in weather. But, according to one new study, the average snowfall depth has been relatively steady over the past 130 years.

“There isn’t a trend significantly different from zero for the whole period,” said the study’s author, John Christy, director of the Earth System Science Center at the University of Alabama. “I also looked at just the past 50 years and there is no trend over this recent stretch either.”

Christy, a critic of global warming science, contends the study’s findings contradict concerns that snowfall in the Sierra Nevada is disappearing due to manmade climate change.

A summary of climate change in California’s 2009 Water Plan Update acknowledges uncertainties about how increased greenhouse gas concentrations may affect precipitation, but finds “there is a very high confidence that higher temperatures will lead to dramatic changes in the snowfall and snowmelt dynamics in watersheds with substantial snow.”

“Higher temperatures will have several major effects: they will increase the ratio of rain to snow, delay the onset of the snow season, accelerate the rate of spring snowmelt, and shorten the overall snowfall season, leading to more rapid and earlier seasonal runoff,” according to the summary.

Christy gathered his data set from snow depth records kept by stations along the Southern Pacific Railroad.

“They took great care to measure snowfall because they had to know how much snow fell before sending trains through the mountain passes,” Christy said. “No one else had looked at this data in detail. The records are pretty thorough and the measuring tools – a device resembling a tall, sturdy yardstick – are easy to use and obviously don’t need power, so there aren’t many gaps in the record.”

He also used data from hydro-power and regional water systems, logging and mining companies and the National Weather Service stations and volunteers. Christy had to manually enter much of the hand-written data into a computer.

To analyze the information, Christy divided the state into 18 regions based on the snowfall and the quality of records for that region. Six or seven of the regions had good, robust data with at least five to 15 stations with records, he said.

Looking at both the 130-year record and the most recent 50-year record – which includes the 1975 to 2000 period when global temperatures rose – the California data show no long-term changes in snowfall in any region, according to a statement released about the study.

As always there are critics: “John Christy failed to find a downward trend in California snowfall because he is looking in the wrong places,” said snow researcher and occasional Tahoe Environmental Research Center consultant Bob Coats in a letter.

I guess Dr. Christy was supposed to look in only approved spots, under the AC vents, blacktop parking lots, and weather stations with burn barrels, like one at the Lake Tahoe spillway. See photo here:

LOL!! I really rattled the Frischy! He had to go find some article to cut and paste.
He went WAY out of his way to try and explain snow that lasted all Summer... With AGW at work.
He's going to be losing sleep tonight.. "DAMN that ditch digger.. That snow was hiding in plain sight. He just HAD to go and point it out.. Now I have to make up excuses of just why it's still there. DAMN his eyes!!..."

All that fuss, and only a few will ever bother to read it.
And Russ has already shot it full of holes.

What is it with the socialist lefts obsession with the letter R? Years and years of rancid Russian dressing that destroyed cnn and MSNBC and its new R addiction is:

"This is Trumponomics and he's doing very much the same thing," Levin said. "These employment levels are historic. They're record-breaking. We haven't seen this kind of thing ever. And no, he didn't inherit it from Obama, Trump's policies have been completely opposite of Obama.
"This is Trumponomics -- and Trumponomics is working."

However, Levin -- who also hosts Fox News' "Life, Liberty & Levin" -- claimed the American people may not realize how well the country is doing because reporters and politicians refuse to speak frankly on the matter.

"You would think the media would be celebrating, the Democrats would be celebrating, the Republicans would be celebrating," he said.

"Instead it's 'Ho-hum' and 'The recession is coming' -- but the recession is not coming, according to the Federal Reserve chairman."

The Pennsylvania-born radio host added the press has instead sought to stifle news of economic achievements.

"They want to talk down the economy," he said. "Hollywood is doing it, CNN is doing, [MSNBC] is doing it... they're all doing it.

"The media on all platforms ... has been shouting the word 'recession' for a month, but they won't give Trump any credit. They won't give capitalism any credit. Instead, on and on with the Marxist pablum that is regurgitated by the Democrats

The Proggys already know how to rig this.
It REALLY makes it easy to cheat.
"Ranked voting in Maine was approved by voters in 2016 but only used for federal races and primaries. The system was the subject of controversy in 2018, when Republican U.S. Rep. Bruce Poliquin lost his bid for reelection in Maine’s second house district to Democratic opponent, Jared Golden despite having more votes than his closest opponent."

It is such a target rich environment tonight! That's right screw the working poor that are left. -

Seattle City Council to Consider Natural Gas Ban

Hey, if you want to have a 20% more chance of bleeding on the brain, go ahead and be a veg-head. Red meat is good for you.

“This is the first study to look at the risk of stroke in vegetarians, said Tong. The research found that vegetarians and vegans had a 20% higher risk of stroke than meat-eaters, particularly hemorrhagic stroke -- caused when blood from an artery begins to bleed into the brain. This translates to 3 more cases of stroke per 1,000 people over 10 years.”

Come to papa.

You spout opinion, yet here are the facts. Aren't you one of those guys who say numbers don't lie? Either the numbers lie, or you are a lier. I'm sorry, but your opinions simply do not correlate with reality. Your propaganda machine will always work with Todd and Walt, but for people with more than a minimal education, it's laughable. As are you.

Republicans to scrap primaries and caucuses

WOW. You guys are so democratic. Looks like you are owned by a strong arm dictator. A one man party. Taking a line from his buds in N. Korea and Myanmar. Even Venezuela isn't this bad.

Crickets. Not a single comment. Silence speaks volumes. You own this. You can pretend no one takes notice, but we do and we don't forget.

Did jigger Barron say something? I'm pretty sure you were just passing gas.
And for the jiggered one, Russ knows plenty more than you.
He's forgotten more than you will ever learn.

Here is your juice box, (sour grapes) ,, now go hit up Mamma for your diaper change. No,, no hugs tonight, your therapy appointment is in the morning, so don't be late.

And there has not been an increase in numbers or intensity of hurricanes since at least 1900.

Caucuses are so yesterday. Who wants to spend time going from group to group all damned night? That's what a voting ballot is for. Your in, punch the ticket and then out the door.

Your problem jigger B. is the lose of your superdelegates.
Look at all the escapees from the nut house that are running for President.
No adults left in the Proggy party to keep the idiots in check.

You are absolutely correct... as of Spring 2018, there had been a decreasing snow pack in the Sierra.

And then the snows started the next winter.

I take it you think the drought and heat waves will come back. That is a possible future, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Just because he has a snowball's chance in Death Valley in July, you say stupid shit.

Kinda like jiggered and Barron.

🤣🤣 Good catch Gregory! I don't think shit for brains even gives what he spews a second thought.
Imagine that. Snow starting to melt in the Spring. What a concept. 🤦‍♀️👌 Better luck next time jiggered one.

Stevie Frisch

So, are you moving full speed ahead or are you harboring even a little concern that the next ten years will be slouching, in fits and starts, into the Little Ice Age part deux?

Please, a bluster would be in character, I'd hate for you to let fly with any doubt whatsoever.

Bill Tozer

“You own this. You can pretend no one takes notice, but we do and we don't forget.”

Oh my. They are watching us and they won’t forget. Quick, to the safe place!

Reminds me of some long ago puppet saying they are keeping track of Trump early in the primaries and his latest statement will be Exhibit 1, which of course should disqualify him. They said they would not forget then as well. Did you hear the one about the crippled NYT reporter? Funny .

Won’t forget, eh? What, are you now not going to vote for Trump all of a sudden, roflmao.

Note to the jiggered one.
That's why you don't drink three too many Zima's and post crap you don't comprehend.

Well....somebody got their Viagra free boner last night. Why always with the threats....."j"....bad time at the "Spaceport" this year?

Steven Frisch

Yep Russ you are correct, John Cristy disagrees with hundreds of other scientists. So what? I could find 'scientists' who agree with Reinette Senum on vaccines, chemtrails, 5G and crises actors....yep, I bet I could.

By he way how is that great big stash of incandescent bulbs doing? I am so glad you stockpiled against the LED apocalypse.

Steven Frisch

Hey Gregory, the science proving anthropogenic climate change will be proved correct over time and I really don't need your approval.

The need to adapt our region to climate change is what motivates me...and I work on it every day, and I see every day that more and more residents of the Sierra, and Nevada County, see the problem and are doing work to begin to reverse it.

You, Todd, Russ and George can cite all the outlier opinions you are losing the battle...actually you've already lost the battle. California's climate path is set for the next generation and you will never reverse it. Amongst conservatives below the age of 40, 70% believe climate change is an existential risk and government should take a leading role in mitigating it. You actually lost about 10 years ago.

Yep, you are in a bright (for you) shining moment of Trumpianism when action on climate change is temporarily slowed, with silly shit like the reversal of lightbulb standards, but coal is collapsing, business is divesting from fossil fuels, states are moving forward while the feds are dithering, major corporations are adopting climate risk management's over buddy, your ideas lost.

George Rebane

Re StevenF 647am - Mr Frisch’s continued attempts to ‘prove’ preventable manmade global warming always wind up in the recital of the Apostles (of PMGW) Creed to confirm his deep and unshakeable faith that soon there will be incontestable science to support his belief system. Until then, all he can do is cite the politicized consensus on the issue that is totally free of science - the believers will not debate countering science; they dare not. Unfortunately, his conjectures on the political successes of mob mania may well become true; mankind has had similar episodes in the past. And as leading edge science becomes ever more inaccessible to the layman, the tendency to go with the comfort of the crowd becomes an overwhelming draw - no need to understand the underlying nature of things, just count the noses braying ‘Amen!!’
