[Trump keeps sticking his foot in it at every turn. Now enough crap is starting to pile up so that a significant number of Rs are starting to voice opposition. That can mushroom in the Senate and end his administration. Right now the immediate pile consists of 1) Ukrainian pro quids per Mulvaney, 2) Abandoning Kurds in Syria, and 3) holding the G-7 in his Doral digs. All of which could have been avoided if someone would only tell him, 'Mr President, STFU!!' gjr]

Agree with your opening comments, Dr. Rebane. It can be frustrating, but I have always encouraged the reader to strap on tight...it’s going to be a bumpy ride. I am riding that loose bull into the ground as he charges through walls and China shops. And even in the ground, I strap on tighter cause I know the ride is far from done. Yes, much appears self inflicted.

Is Jill Stein a Russian agent ? Well, she did have her debates on RT (Russian Television). What is yet to be determined is if she honeymooned in Moscow. On top of that, not only did Jill meet with Russians, she dined with Putin!!! Oh, one must keep a close eye on those Green Party types, for sure. There is little difference between the Soviet Constitution and the Green Party platform....and Justice Democrats.

More on the Pencil Neck Shiftylipps.. You just know he was the kid that everyone bullied at school and stole his lunch daily.
“On Sept. 29, Schiff talked about the whistleblower coming in “without a minder from the Justice Department or from the White House to tell the whistleblower what they can or cannot say. We’ll get the unfiltered testimony of that whistleblower.”
“In early October, however, news broke that the complainant had come to Schiff’s staff before filing. Schiff stopped demanding the testimony, and last Sunday he claimed it was no longer needed. While the extent of their coordination is unknown, the major problem was that the discussions were undisclosed by both Schiff and the anti-Trump complainant. Schiff had publicly denied any such interactions while the bureaucrat failed to mention the contacts when specifically asked about them on a government form.
“The final portion of the whistleblower form requires whistleblowers to attest under penalty of perjury that they have neither misstated nor concealed material facts in their complaints.”.....
Democrats have dramatically switched from demanding transparency about the whistleblower complaint to hiding depositions, transcripts, and evidence. In contrast, President Trump declassified the transcript of the July 25 phone call between Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, and documents surrounding the whistleblower complaint.
“Democrats have insisted on holding their inquisition in secret behind closed doors and are now refusing to allow the whistleblower to testify as both the whistleblower and Schiff had claimed to want prior to the news of their coordination.
Republican members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence have written a letter to Schiff about his concealment of key documents and evidence from the full committee. It ended by noting that the decision to hide the key witness from questioning severs any feasible tie to the Intelligence Committee.
“The highly irregular manner in which you are conducting your so-called ‘impeachment inquiry’ gravely concerns us, as does the fact that you have decreed this matter to be under HPSCI’s jurisdiction despite it lacking any clear intelligence component. Further, given that you have recently acknowledged that the Committee no longer needs to receive testimony from the whistleblower, your ‘impeachment inquiry’ lacks any relationship with the jurisdiction of this Committee,” all Republican members of the committee wrote in a letter, adding that “partisan activities” are “best suited for another Committee.”
https://thefederalist.com/2019/10/18/adam-schiff-flip-flopped-on-whistleblower-testimony-after-reports-of-coordination/
Yep, when Nancy saw what a debacle-circus the formerly fat ticket fixer Jerry Nadler made after just one day of questioning Corey Lewandowski, she closed down the House Judiciary Committee investigation (where impeachment inquiries belong) along with all the other half dozen House Committee anal probes and handed the keys over to the Pencil Neck. She even shut down the esteemed Elijah Cummings House CYA probe into Trump.
Speaking of Cummings, yesterday he tweeted “Man, it’s hot down here.” John McCain tweeted back, “At least it’s a dry heat.”
Always said the Mueller Report was not about uncovering evidence, but about burning evidence.
Welcome to Mueller Report Two, the “phone call.” And I thought impeachment was about The Tower. Silly me.

Is Putin the New King of the Middle East? Look what he gets to inherit. Mercy. Pat Buchanan
https://www.wnd.com/2019/10/putin-new-king-middle-east/
“The Syria of which Putin is now supposedly king contains Hezbollah, al-Qaida, ISIS, Iranians, Kurds, Turks on its northern border and Israelis on its Golan Heights. Five hundred thousand Syrians are dead from the civil war. Half the pre-war population has been uprooted, and millions are in exile in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Europe.
If Putin wants to be king of this, and it is OK with Assad, how does that imperil the United States of America, 6,000 miles away?
But how long does the GOP believe we should keep troops in Syria and control the northeastern quadrant of that country? If the Syrian army sought to push us out, under what authority would we wage war against a Syrian army inside Syria?
And if the Turks are determined to secure their border, should we wage war on that NATO ally to stop them? Would U.S. planes fly out of Turkey's Incirlik air base to attack Turkish soldiers fighting in Syria?
If Congress believes we have interests in Syria so vital we should be willing to go to war for them – against Syria, Turkey, Russia or Iran – why does Congress not declare those interests and authorize war to secure them?
Our foreign policy elites have used Trump's decision to bash him and parade their Churchillian credentials. But those same elites appear to lack the confidence to rally the nation to vote for a war to defend what they contend are vital American interests and defining American values.
If Putin is king of Syria, it is because he was willing to pay the price in blood and treasure to keep his Russia's toehold on the Med and save his ally Bashar Assad, who would have gone under without him.
Who dares wins. Now let's see how Putin likes his prize.”

In the 'truly above the law' category: A federal law prohibits any executive branch “officer or employee” from seeking any “ruling or other determination, contract, claim, controversy, charge, accusation, arrest, or other particular matter” in which he holds a “financial interest.” If that action is done willfully, it is punishable by up to five years in prison.
exception: Donald Trump using his position to line his own pockets by hosting G7 at his financially troubled resort. A repeat of the Scotland episode. Can anyone say 'goombah' yet?

I'm trying to figure out who wants to F'up their own case the most - the Dems or Trump.
Like two punch-drunk palookas staggering around the ring, swinging wildly at one another and pretty much missing entirely.
I could have sworn that Schiff claimed that he had the goods on Trump months ago. What might have happened to that?
Meanwhile the Dems claim to have the votes to impeach but won't hold a vote. They claim Trump is a danger to our 'democracy' but refuse to actually do anything to remove him. Kinda looks like they are either lying or they don't care if our 'democracy' goes down the drain.
Seems like these days there's a new 'crisis' everytime I check the news.

The point is that if he were any other employee of the uS government except president he would be arrested. His is using that loophole to funnel taxpayer and other countries' money into his businesses. The Clinton's are not employees of the federal gov't anymore so they can do whatever they want..not T-rump. Come on Walt, say it.. say the truth.., trump is a goombah, a mobster, and a crook.

Mr. Trump accelerated the movement of working-class voters into the Republican Party, creating a GOP that now represents more middle- and lower-income Americans … He has reframed much of the Republican agenda to appeal to these voters, particularly on trade, immigration and foreign affairs, in many cases upending 40 years of GOP policy.

Equifax employed the username ‘admin’ and the password ‘admin’ to protect a portal used to manage credit disputes, a password that ‘is a surefire way to get hacked,’” the lawsuit reads.
When Equifax, one of the three largest consumer credit reporting agencies, did encrypt data, the lawsuit alleges, “it left the keys to unlocking the encryption on the same public-facing servers, making it easy to remove the encryption from the data.”

OH LOOK! The pony tail of ignorance is scratching in the cat litter!
=============================================================================
Looks like the evil orange man has them panicking before the first votes are cast for anything!-
So almost everything about the week was grounds for optimism for Democrats - except for one event, which was the fourth Democratic debate, held in Westerville, Ohio. That debate quickly faded from view, swept aside by the tidal forces of a president on the defensive. For some Democrats, the three-hour session simply added to questions about the party's fitness to win a general election.
Much of this is a result of the continued debate performances by former Vice President Joe Biden. He has been effective at times. But the sum of Biden on the stage against his rivals has been underwhelming at best, disappointing to those who see him as the most capable of winning a general election.
But the campaign to date has produced questions that will demand answers. Can Biden step up and show something more than he has? Can Warren demonstrate that her proposals and campaign machine are enough to overcome reservations about her general election viability? Can a slipping Sanders rebound? Can Buttigieg or someone else who is less liberal than Warren or Sanders displace Biden?
Trump might look like a weakened candidate, but he will be a tenacious campaigner, willing to do anything he can to demonize and defeat his challenger. Democrats have many choices but are anxiously wondering which one of them will get the party to the White House in 2021.

George. In reading your initial post, it seems that Trump’s strategy is to do and say things that will make liberals’ heads pop off. On the other hand, maybe their heads just pop off when Trump does something. I can’t really tell the difference. Lol

Pelline @ 833am. Wow. Just wow. Why are you so angry?

I think nobody leaving a comment at his blog for three days might be part of it. Narcissistic rage.

Well done. Like Barry, the wedding article left me with joy and all the warm fuzzy stuff. Harvard for both the groom and bride, eh?
Unlike the ugly one, the lucky groom does not hate his father In the least. Good job to both you and your lovely loving wife. Congratulations to all in your growing family.

Congrats to your son and his new wife. I wish them all the happiness. Seems like Pelline is showing his true colors again. What a sad-sack.

You might ask that of Walt. Now THERE is an angry and frustrated shell of a man.

On any given Sunday..... It’s is not wise to respond to the Ugly Soul Sickness before breakfast. Like the Clown Car, give him a long rope and nine miles of pavement. Now, on to more palatable topics.

Jordan Peterson, Kamala Harris, and Beto.
“But they claim that if Peterson’s views are openly expressed, he might convince other people that he’s right, and that could lead to the proliferation of conservative thought. Peterson’s “conservative perspectives on feminism and gender,” according to an opinion piece in The New York Times, “are very popular among young men and often are a path to more extreme content and ideologies.” Think about this. Conservative speech is dangerous because it is a slippery slope to the adoption of conservative ideas? This must be satire. Do these clueless cranks know how ridiculous they sound?”

In the 'caught with his hand in the cookie jar' category: trumpler says he is in the 'hospitality business'(...what ever happened to being president of the US) and has backed off his plan to line his pockets with G7 money after what he called "crazed and irrational hostility" by Democrats and the media. Rational people, both republicans and Democrats, called his plan to host G7 at Doral an emolument and/or a rip off of taxpayer dollars. Let's haves a big cheer: goombah goombah goombah.. lock him up lock him up... goombah goombah goombah.. lock him up lock him up. what will it take for you people to wake up from your trump induced stupor the has injected your brains with moral turpitude ? OK Babs,, you want to bring up ripping off the taxpayers?
How bout your boy "O"'s extravagant Kobe beef buys? You know damned well that "O"and Co. were paying well over 150 bucks a pound. now multiply that by how many state dinners, multiplied by how many butt lickers?
And that's just the beef.
Trump hasn't been throwing those kind of parties. Trump has been pretty frugal with the taxpayer buck compared to what your Proggys have done.

As the new editor off the Union penned his hope on “when will the scales fall from (us Rightwing doofusess’) eyes? They are even saying we are good people that have fallen under Trump’s evil spell. An Olive Branch has been extended....sort of...in their own precious.
Kinda reminds me of the Salem Witch Trials when one of the accused had to walk backwards to the bench, lest she put the judge under her spell with the entrancing glaze of her eyes.

Toes 900am and 936am
They both graduated high school (she at nearby Granite Bay) the same year and she'd come to NU for a couple of games... but they didn't meet. Then they both attended UC Berkeley for four years and she saw some of his performances with the Noteworthy a Capella group... but they didn't meet.
They finally met oh, four years after Cal as she was finishing up the MBA and he was on the home stretch for the PhD.
Regarding Jordan Peterson... he isn't a conservative. He's more a left-centrist... a classic liberal, in his own words. Think libertarian.

Another pot hole challenging the socialist dem clown car and WINNING! -
The fact is that Hispanics are flourishing in the Trump economy. Democrats asserting the contrary is a mere partisan talking point to try to deny Trump the Hispanic support he has earned and which may decide the presidential election outcome next year. Expect Democrats to increase their identity politics attacks in an effort to skew Latinos against Republicans over the next year and a half.

Of course Jordan Peterson is not a conservative in today’s sense, but the left wants nothing to do the with arch right winger”. Did I mention ultra hater, misogynist, and racist, too??we will gladly be associated with the chap, through thick and thin, hero to zero to outcast. Watched a few of his lectures myself.
Hey, you yourself will be tossed in with the Deplorables soon enough. Judging solely by the one and only Green Libertarian, you are a bad libertarian. Bad, bad, bad. Think Rand Paul can just waltz into any restaurant he pleases? First, the Bernie Bro went hunting for dirty rotten Republicans with a list in his pocket and shot at poor Rand Paul at softball practice. An innocent bystander. Then his next door neighbor done came over while Rand was minding his own business mowing his yard and busted up the Kentucky Senator’s ribs. That ain’t showing the good ole Southern Hospitality the South is renown for, no siree. Then last week he walked into a Blue State CA restaurant staffed with a couple of Blue State New Yorkers and was told his free speech rights have been rescinded.
Best to hang out with the far righties. Much safer on the sunny side of the street. Being irredeemable ain’t such a bad life. Besides, I know you take immense sick, yet satisfying pleasure, in watching the Addicted to Outrage heads explode. It’s a deplorable thang. You have safe passage here.

The ground truth of all collectivism is the Big Lie told to the poor and ignorant - your misery is the fault of those who have and produce, for they have cheated you out of your things and jobs. The Big Lie has come in various formats since the time of Lenin. Today his American progeny are the socialist Democrats who have no message of how they would create and spread the wealth, save take from those who already have it. These are very old ideas that go back to the caveman, and they resonate today as much as they did 10,000 years ago. When you examine the Left's proposals, there is nothing new that doesn't depend on 'take and redistribute'. The hardworking nebishes of the land - the apolitical middle-roaders - have no clue that when the Left starts taking, then it will first and foremost be taken from them, because as Willie Sutton said, "Because that's where the money is." It was ever thus.

Even the Clinton news network wants answers from abc that are not forthcoming -
ABC News still hasn't explained how it mistook footage from a Kentucky gun range for authentic video of fighting between Syria and Turkish forces but has promised to dole out internal "consequences" for the error, CNN's Brian Stelter said Sunday.
"Let’s talk about the most egregious media error of the week," he said during "Reliable Sources." "This involves ABC News, showing video from a gun range in Kentucky that they said was video of a slaughter in Syria."
"It’s actually from a Kentucky gun range," Stelter added. "Now ABC says it regrets the error, but it has not explained what happened."
The network issued a correction Monday after reportedly using video from the Knob Creek Gun Range in West Point, while the words "CRISIS IN SYRIA. ISIS prisoners escape as death toll rises in attacks," appeared beneath it.

Another massive narrative fail that the schiffty dems want to keep secret in their star chamber -
On Sunday’s broadcast of CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said that during the committee’s depositions of State Department officials, there were no reports of Ukrainian officials believing there was a quid pro quo in regards to military aide.

Many, especially the far left, once they smell doubleplusungood like my thoughts on the role of galactic cosmic rays in climate change, or on guns and LCMs, identify me as a far right winger when in truth I'm a Jefferonsonian left-centrist.
Oh, does any remember Jeffy's attempts at shaming me for choosing Loyola Marymount for my MSEE? And that I was lying in my claim that Teri and I both lived two miles from CSULA and still drove across town to LMU for the masters? Well, the current issue of the Key Reporter of the Phi Beta Kappa Society (did I not mention my kid was inducted upon graduating from Cal?) has as its cover photo... LMU in the sunset. "Offering rigorous undergraduate, graduate and professional programs to academically ambitious students committed to lives of meaning and purpose, LMU is ranked in the top 15% nationally by the WSJ/Times Higher Education College Rankings 2019."
PBK opened a chapter there in April...
I am happy to note that, in the long tradition of not hosting 'Greek' frats or sororities, Mudd does not have a chapter. Not that I'd have been invited in if they did.

That's the young skulls full of mush news, Jeff, and they've been getting the IPCC views drilled into their heads as long as they can remember.
I'm quite sure that, like you, they're all so far gone that they'll not be able to sit still for a reality check until AGW is just a gag line for late night comics.

Morning Walt. Did you pick up any pointers on bar-b-que chicken? Darn me, it missed it. Had the time, money, and desire to go, but lacked the awareness of time and date. It has occurred to me that I am reading the Union less and less. Didn’t even look at for a week now. Must be the change in the air.
Can’t believe you took the German Shepards to the outing. That’s like taking a fussy baby to the motion picture theater. Ballsy. My arctic shepard would have broke free and been the first in line or be found sitting at the judges’ table. :). She prefers eats to love. Not the cuddly type....just like her ancestors.
