What impeachment? -
Consumers are unshaken by the impeachment drama unfurling in Washington, D.C.
“References to the impact of impeachment on economic prospects were virtually non-existent, mentioned by less than 2% in October and November,” said Richard Curtin, the survey’s chief economist.
“Although consumers have become somewhat more cautious spenders, they see no reason to engage in the type of retrenchment that causes recessions,” said Curtin.

Sorry about not contributing much the last few weeks. Just completing my productions of 14 shows at the Nevada Theatre.
This week Nevada County went Deep Blue by voting for Dem Elizabeth Betancourt over Republican Megan Dahle 54-45 %.
Also things look grim for Trump nationally. The Repubs even lost the Governorship in Kentucky, a State Trump carried by over over 30% in '16.
Pretty grim for the poor ol' GOP.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 08 November 2019 at 03:11 PM
Funny guy. Paul why do you lie so much?
Punch, it was 46-54 by standard roundoff rules, you know, elementary school arithmetic. And the Democrat was allowed to run as a moderate by the press, when in fact she's a leader (THE Leader) for the Resistance, the "women's march", in Redding.
I also never caught what crops her small family farm grows. Do you know?
Deep blue, Nevada County is not. It's Purple. The larger district is Red.
All politics is local, even in Kentucky and all the other state orifices in KY went GOP. Their governor is deeply unpopular from actions in office and the kid who won is the son of a previous Gov. He's got a couple of years to see what he can do with a state legislature that is dominated by a GOP supermajority.

BillT 429pm - the '11,000 scientists' was another Big Lie by the Left (aka Democrats). I wonder why none of this makes even a dent in the narrative of those commenters who continue pointing out 'Trump's lies' which are really inconsequential when compared to any of the lies - like the 'scientists' or the 'moderate Bentancourt'. The double dummy public is really impacted by such bamboozles because they neither read nor take the time thinking, and the Democrats know that. And note that no leftist here wants to address this issue.
Posted by: George Rebane | 08 November 2019 at 04:36 PM
Dr. Rebane. Thou doth speak the truth. Just Google it, lol
“The curious timeline for taking down Trump”
Jan. 3, 2017: Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) publicly warns Trump that if he took on the intelligence community, it has “six ways from Sunday to get back at you.”
Jan. 11, 2017: A Politico investigation concludes that Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump in the 2016 election with help from a Ukrainian American operative who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee.
Jan. 30, 2017: Days after President Trump takes office, attorney Mark Zaid tweets that a “coup has started” and “impeachment will follow ultimately.” Zaid often deals with government investigations and clients in the intelligence community.
A few months later, still in 2017, Zaid tweets: “I predict @CNN will play a key role in @realDonaldTrump not finishing out his full term as president” and “We will get rid of him, and this country is strong enough to survive even him and his supporters.” Zaid also tweets that “as one falls, two more will take their place” and the “coup” would occur in “many steps.”
Zaid went on to represent the alleged whistleblower in the Trump impeachment effort. (Zaid has stated, in his own defense, that his mention of a “coup” simply referred to what he saw as a lawful attempt by attorneys to remove an unlawful president from office.)
May 17, 2017: Special counsel Robert Mueller begins investigating Trump.
August 2017: Trump critic and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper is hired as an analyst at CNN. He attacks Trump regularly, at times with incorrect information.
Jan. 23, 2018: Former Vice President Joe Biden publicly brags that he got Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor by threatening to withhold U.S. aid. The prosecutor was investigating Burisma, an energy company where Biden’s son had served on the board since 2014, when his father was vice president.
Feb. 1, 2018: Trump critic and former CIA Director John Brennan is hired as an analyst for NBC and MSNBC, where he attacks Trump regularly, at times with incorrect information.
March 22, 2019: The special counsel’s probe ends without concluding that Trump or his associates conspired with Russia, despite what critics such as Brennan and Clapper long had claimed. Democrats are unable to unite on an impeachment push over the findings.
April 2019: Ukraine elects a new president. Former Vice President Biden’s son Hunter Biden steps down from the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma.
July 25, 2019: President Trump calls the newly elected president of Ukraine and asks for cooperation in a probe involving long-standing corruption in Ukraine along with alleged ties to U.S. Democrats and the 2016 campaign.
Aug. 12, 2019: Someone alleging to be a whistleblower files a complaint about the phone call with the intelligence community’s inspector general. The anonymous person alleges President Trump sought political dirt to use against Biden in 2020 as part of a “quid pro quo.” Quids pro quo aren’t inherently illegal or improper and are, in fact, a key component of most foreign aid. However, the whistleblower claims Trump is improperly withholding military aid from Ukraine for his own political purposes.
Sept. 9, 2019: The inspector general notifies the House Intelligence Committee about the complaint. Although Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) initially denies doing so, it turns out that he and his staff already had met with — or conspired with, depending on your view — the alleged whistleblower.
Sept. 24, 2019: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announces an impeachment inquiry based on the alleged whistleblower’s claims.”
And on and on it goes, when it will stop nobody knows. :)

The Blue pimple is still trying to form into head.
While you are not a Republican, I will address this to you as if you were one for all readers to consider; some made the Lamestream news, others did not. Like most midterms and off year elections, it is usually a mixed bag.
While not following the Kentucy race closely, I did notice the Governor was 15 points down with a week to go, down from 10 points down with a month to go. A conservative site called the Kentucky Governor the “less popular Governor in the nation.” Not all state elections are about the top of the National ticket, as evidenced by my vote for Di-Fi in the last CA senatorial race against De Leon. Let’s look at the mixed bag, shall we?
https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/11/election-tidings.php
I did notice that Jeff Sessions will be running against Doug Jones for his old seat back. Virginia, which has been trending Blue for more than a decade, finally (as breathlessly reported by The Enemy of the People) took over the State Houses for the first time in 27 years. What the joyous press omitted to tell the reader that it only took one or two seats to flip both the chambers as the R’s held razor thin margins, the state senate due to vacancies.

Being on MSNBC means you are used to people laughing at you! -
On Thursday, Velshi sat down with a panel of eight gun owners in Beaver Dam, Wisc., and asked them about the popular progressive policy.
“Let me ask you about a proposal that's been floated out there by a presidential candidate or more about gun buybacks," Velshi said. “Who thinks that's a good idea?"
That sparked audible laughs and chuckles from the panel.
"I just bought mine for a million bucks, so if they're willing to pay me that..." one gun owner told Velshi.
When asked if the issue of gun rights was in the "top three" election issues going into 2020, four of them raised their hands.
"Don't mess with my rights to protect my family by trying to take away my firearms," another gun owner said.

You've been pulling the same crap since late 2015, but thanks for not claiming the fudging of roundoff was a simple error, or that the Dem in this case wasn't a wolf in sheep's clothing. Yes, you lied.
You also lied about the KY results.
No, Punch, a 46 to 54 result, in a county that no campaigning in the flesh took place by team Red, and a friendly to team Blue is the only newspaper, is indicative of a Purple. Who knows, it may be that GOP candidates, up against a radical in hiding, just won't bother to fight the ugly fight up here that your buds want... they have the seat in the bag anyway.
Did you hear me make any prediction about Trump making an impact here? Nope... although if there was a blowout in most of the other 49 states brewing, and local Dems became as demoralized as the local GOP are now, well... stranger things have happened. It could be that the global warmistas will be in full retreat in 12 months and there will be magic rainbow unicorn farts for all the good boys and girls.

Greg @ 9:33 All the signs here in the Sonoran Desert suggest an even colder, longer Winter than last, which featured morning temps in the 40's well into May, saw no 100 degree days until June and morphed into our monsoon without much Summer at all.
The harvester ants in my backyard have been excavating mightily to create larger gardens in their underground communities. They're 'worried about the coming Winter' and are expanding their gardening spaces. They grow fungi from the leaves and blossoms they harvest constantly. My 1.5 acres is home to millions of these folk.

Depending where you live, the squirrels busier than a one legged man in a forest fire stashing acorns in July is a good sign that it’s going to be an early winter. Same is true for woodpeckers pounding away louder and earlier than ‘normal’. Plus the leaves turning yellow early in the higher elevations. At least in the Sierra Nevadas.

Development in the Flynn case
Money quote
“That question and answer does not appear in the notes, yet it was made into a criminal offense,” Powell argued in the motion. “The draft also shows that the agents moved a sentence to make it seem to be an answer to a question it was not.”
—
Earlier this week, Powell demanded in another court filing that the FBI search its internal “Sentinel Database” to uncover any drafts of the 302 which may show substantial changes, after the government argued that any edits to the document, which was filed over three weeks after the interview, were merely “grammatical and stylistic.”
Released text messages between Strzok and Page show that on February 10, the same day that news broke from “senior intelligence officials” that Flynn had discussed sanctions with Kislyak, Strozk told Page that he had updated the 302 form to reflect her edits.
“I made your edits, and sent them to Joe. I also emailed you an updated 302 . . . hopefully it doesn’t need much more editing. I will polish it this weekend, and have it ready for Monday. I really appreciate your times and edits,” Strzok said.
On Tuesday night, Powell told Fox News that the letter all but confirms her argument.
“Their entire case depends upon what these two agents said. And now, we’re realizing 18 months later they’re looking at their file and realizing that ‘oh, by the way, we got the names of the two agents crossed on the notes, the notes you thought were Mr. Strzok’s, that we told you were Mr. Strzok’s, are not, they’re the other agent’s, and vice versa,’” Powell said. “It’s appalling. What else have they gotten wrong? We can’t trust anything they say.”

I found this twit in January '17 to be interesting:
"#coup has started. First of many steps. #Rebellion. #impeachment will follow ultimately."
https://twitter.com/MarkSZaidEsq/status/826262311560216578
Mark Zaid is the whistle leaker's attorney.
How are the antics in Washington *not* a coup?
It may well be the frantic impeachment movement in Congress is needing something to point to when real indictments get filed from the FISA investigations.
I can see the folks playing politics in Congress trying to pin their own tails on AG Barr when/if that happens.

@ 11:07 am
I found these texts from November, ‘16 to be interesting as well. The coup has started.
BREAKING: FBI Texts Show Agents Discussed Recruiting White House Sources To Spy For Bureau
“However, the text messages uncovered from November, 2016 and have left questions lingering about the relationship between Strzok, Pitcock and his wife among congressional investigators and lawmakers.
“The course of our oversight work we have reviewed certain text messages that may show potential attempts by the FBI to conduct surveillance of President-elect Trump’s transition team,” the letter states. “In text messages exchanged between former FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok and former FBI Attorney Lisa Page, the two discussed the possibility of developing “potential relationships” at a November 2016 FBI briefing for presidential transition team staff. Specifically, it appears they discussed sending “the CI guy” to assess an unnamed person ‘demeanor’ but were concerned because it might be unusual for him to attend.”

Now, who is the CI guy? Any relationship to the whistleblower?

Not verified, not final numbers, Paul. And not "solid blue" either, as there were multiple precincts in our County that went Red.
Imagine what the colors might have been had the Blue Meanies not been actively hostile to Reds in the county. Like you, Punch. If candidates don't (or can't) campaign in an area, they often fall short...just ask Hillary C.
Like I said, it's Purple. But you did modify your color claim from Deep Blue to "solid Blue", so I suppose we can celebrate a slight improvement in your perception of reality, although you remain a f'ing liar... thank you for not denying it!

What "Truth" are you referring to Todd? Do you deny that the Repubs lost to the Dems on the Assembly election by 8 points as verified by Gregory?
Posted by: Paul Emery | 09 November 2019 at 01:34 PM
The final numbers are not in yet. I waited until the afternoon for the last post mark time at an out of county/ area post office to mail in my ballot SOLEY in anticipation of this argument. Gotta wait for the final numbers to come it. Nana-nana.
While Punchy breathlessly waits until the votes are certified by the county elections office and sent off to the state, all he can hope for is winning local county supervisor slots, local municipalities elections, and local county offices. That is the best he can hope for, evidenced by the 16 point margin Megan Dahl crushed her opponent, the lady with the Women's March vagina costume and kitty hat from Redding or some place. Odd that the Eco-nazi leftist did not even win her own county or nary one adjoining county. Very odd. Very odd indeed.
As more ballots come in, Megan went from a 57.4% lead to 58%. That is what is know in this polarized age nowadays as a landslide. A friggin landslide. Proof positive that our own little speck on the map is out of touch with the vast area know as CA District One. Way out of touch.

In news beyond the end of Punchy’s nose.....Thin Lizzy takes the nice guy approach, leaving the Ragin Cajon scratching his billiard ball head. Didn’t work for McCain when he laid off the Rev. “Elizabeth Warren blows up the 'war room'
The candidate rejects the James Carville approach to campaigning, and her opponents are baffled.”
“How are you going to run for president — and run against President Trump — around a campaign that doesn’t answer questions and debate your own policy proposal? I don’t get it,” said James Carville, the man behind the original war room set up for Bill Clinton’s 1992 run.....
“Still, there's a question whether the unconventional approach will work as the attacks intensify ahead of Iowa and New Hampshire, let alone against Donald Trump in a general election. Democrats are watching closely which of the candidates will be able to stand up to the president: When asked to choose between a candidate who can beat Trump more than one who merely reflects their values, polls show Democratic voters prefer the former.”
Hmmm. Values are relative

To Todd :
"Do you deny that the Repubs lost to the Dems on the Assembly election in Nevada County by 8 points as verified by Gregory?"

Bill writes re Assembly election :
"Proof positive that our own little speck on the map is out of touch with the vast area know as CA District One."
Exactly what I've been saying all along Bill. So we agree. Nevada County is the blue exception in district 1

Nevada County is the purple exception in District 1.
Funny how Betancourt did the best in the county that knows her the least, the furthest away from where she lives.

So Nevada County was +8 for Dems and the whole district was +17 Repubs that's a 25% Blue swing in Nevada County which proves it's DEEP DEEP BLUE compared to the rest of the district.
I know you do the math differently Gregory. What are your numbers on the difference between Nevada County and the rest of the District?

Nevada County D's are up 3,000 over the R's yet the R candidate only lost by 1,700. And overall the D lost by almost 10K. No sweep there and it appeard the D's were not that hep on Beta.

Emery still won't state why Nevada county going gangrene "purple/blue"(lack of life sustaining oxygen) is a great thing.
Why is that Emery? It's what you want,, isn't it? Yet won't say a good word about it.
The folks that "F"ed up the bay are now moving here, and voting for the same thing to "shithole" this county.. And your cheering that.. You DO have issues....

We can all agree that pussy hat tree hugging dirt worshiping gun hating oil despising Betancon got shellacked in the last election. Wipe out. Sweep away in an avalanche. Give her a participation trophy. Things are not looking too good for Democrats, the minority in District One. Yessiree, things are looking tits up for Greenies in District One. Not even close. Race was over before the polls closed. In fact, there was no need for Megan to even step foot in Nevada County.
Yep, we can agree on that. Most certainly. A moment of coming together. A meeting of the minds. It’s like that magic feeling........
“Do you deny that the Repubs lost to the Dems on the Assembly election by 8 points as verified by Gregory?” Most certainly I do!! Any idiot can see that the Dems lost to the Republicans on the Assembly election, duh.

Douche sez: “,,,you just cannot get any lower than stealing money Vets.” And to think they once allowed you to be the hall monitor around our school children.
Debunk this:
A New York judge has ruled that President Donald Trump must pay a $2 million judgement for improperly using his Trump Foundation to advance his 2016 presidential campaign – but in reality, Trump is being punished for a technicality.
That’s in contrast to how liberals are trying to portray the event. As CNN put it in their reporting: “The order and settlement bring an end to questions that first arose during the 2016 campaign about whether Trump used money raised under the guise of charitable work for political gain. The resolution puts the President in the unusual position of having to pay millions in damages while in office, at a time when he faces a large number of other personal legal battles. Filed in June 2018, the lawsuit alleged that the President and his three eldest children — Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric — violated federal and state campaign finance laws and abused the Donald J. Trump Foundation’s tax-exempt status. According to the lawsuit, the Trumps allowed the foundation to be used ‘as little more than a checkbook to serve Mr. Trump’s business and political interests.'”
In reality, this lawsuit was setoff by the following series of events
Ahead of the 2016 Iowa caucus, candidate Trump held a fundraiser. The fundraiser raised $2.8 million, which was ALL given to veterans charities.
The funds were raised through the Trump Foundation, but campaign staff managed the fundraiser and distributed the funds to charities.
Liberals decided that these funds counted as campaign contributions (ZERO percent of which went to the Trump campaign), and a judge agreed helped “further Mr. Trump’s political campaign.”
One hundred percent of the money raised went to charity, and the Trump campaigned covered the entire cost of administering distribution of the funds. But because giving millions of dollars to veterans tends to be good PR for a presidential candidate, a judge decided that this helped further the Trump campaign.
So for his efforts to help veterans, Trump was rewarded with a $2 million fine and the billionth bogus media narrative to plague his presidency.
Maybe one day the media will discover what the Clinton Foundation is.
