scenes 1039am - Understood, and good explanation. Corporatism is indeed too narrow of a label for what you are defining. Corporatism has been practiced since biblical times, and was rampant under monarchies. In modern times Hitler's Third Reich launched a very comprehensive form of corporatism after he became chancellor in 1933.

As you know, I am a strong believer that words do really matter. Do you see that your useful definition, and hence its TBD label, will subsume corporatism, or will it have an independent (orthogonal) semantic? In any event, name the baby so that you (and others) won't have to sing the entire song each time you want use the notion in discourse.

I have no doubt the paper is a lefty. My points are I am emailing them on every story to point that out and to criticize the AP and other sources for their propaganda. I am pestering them to make them aware some are not accepting them rather than being quiet like most people are.

WOW! What a great week for President Trump. The democrats are self-destructing and the really good juju is Trump’s. All the hearings and accusations by the democrats mean Trump 2020 is almost a certainty. We lived through three years and an anal exam regarding the Rooskies and the democrats came up with nothing. So they tried racism, sexism and homophobia. All failed. Then a perfectly normal phone call is leaked by a traitor and mischaracterized to the willing media. When Trump released the transcript the traitor’s words were shown to be falsified and the democrats scrambled to try and save themselves. When nothing stuck the Adam Schiff show started and we saw a total abuse of power by the scoundrel Schiff. He got the rules changed so he could deny the Republicans witnesses and legal representation. He gaveled down Republican women trying to get fairness returned to the proceedings. It truly was a Schiff show of absurdity and power mongering.

The when that kangaroo court was done, it went over to the next kangaroo court Chaired by a Nadler. A fellow that we all know has lifetime animus to Trump. He used the same tactics as Schiff and even had three uber partisan “constitutional scholars” come to prosecute the President. One loon even made a distasteful joke about Baron Trump. Later giving a phony apology. Without precedent, Nadler allowed a witness he called and interrogated to then climb to the dais and become a questioner. I and every honest and fair American could not believe he did this ridiculous move. And that person, Burke, as well as the three democrat witnesses were shown to be heavy donors to the democrats. Maybe a little teensy bit biased? Then today we see the democrats in the house issuing two articles of impeachment against Trump. No bribery or extortion to be found. Simply Abuse of Congress (Trump has the audacity to ask for a court ruling) and something Nadler and Schiff conjured up calling it a “abuse of power”. And that was for supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine! Now the democrats have announced they will start hearing tomorrow night at 7pm and finish in the morning with their kangaroo court rulings.

Remember this is a duly elected, fair and square President. After the kangaroos vote they will send it to the Senate where it will die a deserved death. To top things off, the Nancy Pelosi cabal finally voted on the Trade Deal and my guess is they think it will divert attention from their COUP. Thanks goodness we have alternative media and the mainstream stenographers can’t get away with their lies any more. The up shot of all this is a big THANK YOU to the democrats for ensuring TRUMP gets re-elected and we gain the House and keep the Senate. The modern-day WHIG party will rue the day they tried this COUP.Great!

Look what schiff for brains has wrought on his own party -

At the same time, periodic Trump critics like Republican strategist Terry Sullivan, who has been studying public opinion in general election battlegrounds like Pennsylvania for years, says the president is doing better than his weak national favorable ratings might suggest.

“He's winning,” Sullivan said of Trump, pointing to national Democrats' focus on impeachment. “Before Democrats started on impeachment, he was actually his own worst enemy in a lot of these states. But this has actually helped him.”

A full year before Election Day 2020, Republicans quietly executed a “dry run” of President Donald Trump's massive reelection machine.

They activated tens of thousands of volunteers and tested phone bank capabilities and get-out-the-vote operations in every state in the nation. Before and after the sprawling exercise, GOP officials coordinated thousands of “MAGA Meet ups” to organize and expand their network of Trump loyalists, paying close attention to battlegrounds like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
And on Tuesday, Trump himself will face thousands more cheering supporters in Pennsylvania, his fourth appearance in the swing state this year.

The nation's best known Democrats, meanwhile, are pouring most of their time and resources into the states that matter most in their primary fight: Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina. Three of the four will be considered swing states next November, but they are far from the biggest electoral prizes come Election Day 2020.

I sent my dismay of that Union article this morning to Don Rogers the publisher. His email came tonight and said I was a tool of the Russians. You cannot make this stuff up.

Being Lefty means never having to say, “I am sorry. I was wrong.” They certainly are group of sorry sumbitches, whether they ever come clean or not.

IG Report Confirms Schiff FISA Memo Media Praised Was Riddled With Lies
Nearly two years later, the inspector general's report vindicates the Nunes memo while showing that the Schiff memo was riddled with lies and false statements.

“The media joined Department of Justice bureaucrats in bitterly opposing the release of the Nunes memo. The Justice Department released a letter to the press saying the action was “extraordinarily reckless,”would be “damaging” to “national security,” and would risk “damage to our intelligence community or the important work it does in safeguarding the American people.”........

“The memo purports to show that the process by which the FBI and Justice Department obtained approval from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to conduct surveillance on former Trump adviser Carter Page was deeply tainted,” the Post article says. “It does this by straining every which way to suggest that the basis for the warrant was the so-called ‘Steele dossier,’ which contains Democratic-funded research by former British spy Christopher Steele.” (The IG confirmed this week that the efforts to secure a warrant to spy on Page were dropped due to lack of evidence until Steele delivered his memos.)

On the other hand, Salon called the memo “fake news.” New York Magazine’s Jonathan Chait, who fervently believes that Trump is a traitor who colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election, all evidence to the contrary, went even further. “The Nunes Memo Is Fake and the Russia Scandal Is Very Real,” he claimed. “While the evidence that the DOJ has been corrupt or even sloppy in its investigation has disintegrated, evidence for the seriousness of the investigation itself has grown progressively stronger,” Chait claimed.

CNN had their good buddy James Clapper, an Obama intelligence chief, say that the memo was a “blatant political act.” John Brennan, Obama’s CIA chief who was also implicated in the spying on the Trump campaign, told Politico that the memo was “exceptionally partisan.” Politico claimed the memo “makes no sense.”

“Nunes Memo Accidentally Confirms the Legitimacy of the FBI’s Investigation,” asserted The Intercept. “All Smoke, No Fire,” claimed resistance member Orin Kerr in The New York Times. “The Nunes Memo Continues To Backfire,” declared the hyperpartisan Washington Post editorial board.

A great example of the general media treatment of the issue of FISA abuse was offered up by U.S. News and World Report. “Nail in the Coffin for Nunes Memo,” declared the headline of an article that effusively praised Schiff while utterly condemning Nunes. “Nunes’ memo was a bad joke from the start,” the author writes, going on to assert that Page was a dangerous agent of Russia, multiple Trump campaign operatives were surveilled for excellent reason, and the ex-British spy secretly hired by Hillary Clinton to produce the dossier alleging Trump was a secret agent of Russia was simply beyond reproach.”

There are parallels between the Russian Collusion Hoax and the media driven Impeachment. The intersectionality is the same actors are being used. A threat to national security, for sure.

IG Horowitz's report - commenter Gregory again mis-posted an impeachment related comment in the Sandbox. I moved his informative comment here where it belongs.

Well, it’s getting clearer that Obama spied, FBI lied. Now, how about that sackcloth and ashes impeachment announcement? It’s already been submitted for two Grammies and the Noble Peace Prize, not to mention three Golden Globes awards for the breathtaking series, “Different and Dangerous Impeachment” on the Cartoon Network.

“Besides, with approximately zero chance they can muster the two-thirds Senate vote to convict and remove Trump, Dems won’t worship at the altar of lost causes. They want to do their thing for zealots and donors and move on.

Jerry Nadler's absolutely underwhelming articles of impeachment
The strangest aspect is that they are limiting their case to two articles, junking much of the mud they threw in their numerous hearings and press conferences.

No bribery, no quid pro quo, no witness intimidation, nothing to do with Mueller — all the talking points of months just suddenly disappeared.

The first article, charging abuse of power, is aimed at Trump’s phone call with Ukraine and the claim that he was using his office for personal gain by wanting an investigation of Joe and Hunter Biden’s actions there. It’s a mushy claim that hasn’t resonated with the broader public because it’s not clear that Trump was breaking any laws or doing anything even close to the edge.

As I’ve written, it’s akin to calling for the death penalty for jaywalking.”

Censure Schiff For Brains, not Trump.

The Great Divide: I have tried to watch Chucky the Clown’s statement on the IG Report yesterday, last nigh, and this morning. I still cannot sit through 3 minutes of it. I did make it to almost 90 seconds. Did enjoy the part about “wild eyed Conspiracy Theorists” when I heard a clip of it on my transistor radio. I thought Chucky was talking about Schiff For Brains. If you can stomach three minutes of this, you are a bigger man than me.

Dem talking points lol. Me thinks Chucky should change his tune after today’s Senate testimony from Horowitz. Ok, hope springs eternal. I won’t hold my breath.

Bill Tozer

Waiting for the spin. Headlines today are....

* Lindsey Graham On Steele Dossier: ‘It Is Damning, It Is Salacious, And It Is A Bunch Of Crap’

Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham of South Carolina slammed the discredited Steele dossier Wednesday during the committee’s hearing on the long-anticipated Department of Justice inspector general’s report on FISA warrants used to investigate the 2016 Trump campaign.

“It is stunning. It is damning. It is salacious. And it is a bunch of crap,” Graham declared
* Horowitz: FBI’s FISA Applications Against Carter Page Relied ‘Entirely’ On Steele’s Sources
DECEMBER 11, 2019
In an astonishing admission, the Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz conceded to lawmakers Wednesday that the FBI’s FISA applications used to continue surveillance on the 2016 Trump campaign were based entirely on sources for the widely discredited Steele Dossier funded by the Democrats.
* Horowitz Blasts Comey: IG Report Findings ‘Don’t Vindicate Anybody Who Touched’ Anti-Trump Investigation

During Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on the investigative FISA report with DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz on Wednesday, Horowitz blasted former FBI Director James Comey. Horowitz said the IG report findings did not vindicate Comey from wrongdoing.

This revelation came out of a line of questioning by South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.

“The former FBI Director James Comey said this week that your report vindicates him. Is that a fair assessment of your report?” Graham asked.

“You know, Is that a fair assessment of your report?” Graham asked.

“You know, I think the activities we found here don’t vindicate anyone who touched this,” Horowitz said.
After providing months of wall to wall impeachment coverage, CNN decided not to air the hearings with Inspector General Michael Horowitz
* Horowitz Faults FBI Chain of Command for Lacking ‘Effective Oversight’ in Crossfire Hurricane Investigation
During his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz faulted FBI senior officials for failing to properly oversee FISA applications filed to surveil Trump-campaign adviser Carter Page.

“The circumstances reflect a failure, as we outline in the report, not just by those who prepared the applications, but also by the managers and supervisors in the Crossfire Hurricane chain of command, including FBI senior officials who were briefed as the investigation progressed,” Horowitz said in his statement.
* James Comey will go down as most corrupt FBI director ever: Expert panel on FISA report
* IG Horowitz rips 'failure' of entire 'chain of command' in FBI's Trump-Russia probe
* IG calls for ‘accountability’ over FBI failures in Russia probe

Well, perhaps there was the slightest of evidence to open the Russia-Trump conspiracy probe. I will even gra the benefit of doubt to the Left for sake of argument. Fair enough. But when the Titanic left port, that is when things got weird and dangerous to our democracy. Wonder what the judges sitting on the FICA court are thinking today digesting the report? FBI Director Wrey must have got a hits up cause he announced 40 new protocols.this morning. Yesterday it was 28, lol.

“What we have here is election interference disguised as an impeachment.”

Very good Mr scenes!

Bill Tozer

Here here, Mr. scenes. Today’s daily quotes will be placed here and not in the Sandbox. Brother Dan made the quote list! Moving on up.

Insight: “There can be no public or private virtue unless the foundation of action is the practice of truth.” —George Jacob Holyoake (1817-1906)

For the record I: “Abuse of power is the most ambiguous, vague reference to an impeachment that you could ever have. You can make it anything you want. You don’t like [that] the president got up and wore a red tie? That’s abuse of power.” —Rep. Doug Collins

For the record II: “People are not making a big enough deal over the corrupt Dems’ sudden, whiplash-inducing shift from ‘bribery’ to ‘abuse of power.’ Just hours ago they swore they had an airtight case on bribery. THIS IS THE IMPEACHMENT OF THE US PRESIDENT & they’re just saying, ‘Never mind’?” —David Limbaugh

Upright: “America deserves an apology from Adam Schiff for all of the now confirmed lies in his infamous Schiff memo about FISA abuse. No one in the media should allow this fool on their network until he accounts for the myriad of lies in the document.” —Dan Bongino

Dezinformatsiya: “If I were a news director of a global reporting organization, I would devote a lot of resources and reporting energy to investigating the relationship between President Trump, his administration and business, and Saudi Arabia. I don’t think we have seen the full picture.” —fake newsman Dan Rather

Grand delusions: “Barr and Durham disagreeing with the IG report is merely a microcosm. The MUCH larger story is that Trump is slowly undermining (or replacing!) the individuals and institutions that hold him accountable. At some point, only loyalists will remain.” —Daily Beast columnist Matt Lewis

Non sequitur: “Puppies aren’t separated from their moms until ~8 weeks. Less than that is thought of as harmful or abusive. One of the most common lengths of US paid family leave is ~6 weeks. So yes, when we ‘let the market decide’ on parental leave, ‘the market’ treats people worse than dogs.” —Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Preborn babies at Planned Parenthood unavailable for comment…)

And last… “I think our nation was turned on its head for three years based on a completely bogus narrative that was largely fanned and hyped by an irresponsible press. And I think that there were gross abuses of FISA and inexplicable behavior that is intolerable in the FBI.” —Attorney General William Barr

Bill Tozer

I am so glad we can now leave the FISA warrant and FICA Court renewals behind and focus on the origins of (perhaps) the largest political scandal in at least 100 years in our nation, ie, the Russian Hoax perpetrated on the opposition’s political rival by the incumbent administration.

Bye bye to the FBI for now.........

“An FBI lawyer named Kevin Clinesmith, who was part of Robert Mueller’s all-star lineup, reportedly is the one who altered a CIA email in a manner that reversed its meaning. He inserted the words “not a source” into the CIA email, when the gist of the email was that Carter Page had been, for several years, a trusted CIA source. The altered email was submitted to the FISA court as part of the FBI’s successful effort to continue spying on Page and the Trump transition team. Clinesmith presumably will be criminally prosecuted.

Some of us knew that the Obama/Holder/Lynch Department of Justice and the Comey FBI were corrupt, but we never imagined how corrupt they would turn out to be.”

Longer clip
Looking back, whoever were the previous administration’s security advisers where complete nincompoops. Idiots, the bottom of the barrel. Everything they touched and said was ass backwards bull crap, lies, full of shit. Look at Libya, the Establishments actions resulting in ISIS brutally controlling the lives of 4-5 million people (hostages?) at one time, turning the IRS on political opponents, turning the Apparatus on scores of reporters’ phone calls, and on and on it goes. Everything they touched turned to shit. No wonder things turned south. They were never after Carter Page. They were after Trump.

And now the Establishment is in full spin mode. They put protecting themselves ahead of everything, including country, including you and me.

The silver lining, so far, is that Comey does not know what Durham knows. Clapper and Brennan and even Horowitz does not know what Attorney General William Barr knows. Meanwhile, Trump is the biggest threat to democracy since 400 BC and MUST be impeached now. Hurry, no time to waste. It’s an EMERGENCY, folks, a real bloody emergency. Time is of the essence. Man the battle stations! What a bunch cultists.

Dougy.. any bets that crooked bastard Schiff will be too scared testifying in the Senate? Think he has the the balls GOD gave lizards to back up his bullshit? You know,,, with something that's called evidence?

Scott O

So - a lawyer working for the FBI deliberately falsifies an email used as evidence presented to the court?
For what? Fun? Shits and grins? On his own?
I say sentence him to about 30 years at hard labor. He might suddenly start to remember some 'stuff' he had forgot to mention.

Don Bessee

Well crap that's not working out the way we planned say the dem congressional leaders, the polls are getting worse for us and better for him and now THIS! SHIT! -

There are four vacancies in the House, and former GOP Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan–who left the party over this–is expected to join the Democrats in the vote for impeachment, so that means Democrats would need 216 votes for impeachment to pass. As such, 19 total votes from Democrats against Articles of Impeachment–there is already at least one, probably two, with many more expected–could sink the vote.

There are 31 districts that Democrats currently represent that President Trump won in 2016, and another 20 or so that are considered battlegrounds with vulnerable incumbents.
Democrat leadership, meanwhile, does not intend to ensure its passage–and will not whip the votes for impeachment on the floor.

“In fact, Democratic leaders have said they don’t intend to whip the impeachment vote, allowing each member to make his or her own personal choice on such a historic roll call that many see as a legacy-defining issue,” Bade and DeBonis wrote before quoting Rep. Dan Kildee (D-MI), a deputy whip in House Democrat leadership, as confirming the plan by Democrat leaders to not whip the vote.

Bill Tozer

Contrary to the Unhinged spin this morning...

“Of course the FBI spied on the Trump campaign”

Put it all together, and there was a lot of spying on the Trump campaign — informants, in a wiretap, even in a supposed intelligence briefing. Yet defenders of the Trump-Russia probe still maintain that no spying took place and that the FBI followed proper procedures. After Horowitz, that's a difficult case to make. The fact is, the FBI not only spied on the Trump campaign, it did it in the worst way.

Bill Tozer

Dangerous Impeachment for whom? That’s not how to move the needle.

The Star Tribune features two impeachment-related stories at the center of its home page this morning (with more posted under each of the two stories), but readers are turning their attention elsewhere. The Star Tribune’s most read and most emailed stories as of 8:45 a.m. (Central) this morning are listed below. My theory here is that laughter is the best medicine.

Robert Cross

Here is what "Art of the Deal' co-author Tony Schwartz and to say about trumpler's six page screed to Nancy Pelosi:

The writer called it “an utterly desperate cry to be excused for a life of lies and hatred.....a horrendous human being who seeks only to become a dictator."
"It's Trump, not Democrats, who has declared war on democracy. He is suffering, above all, from the fact that he knows he deserves impeachment."

Let's see.. who knows more about trumpler, Tony Schwartz who spent months with the man while writing the book, or the peanut gallery at Rebanes' Ruminations who simply repeat trumpler's outlandish accusations and lies in his defense and probably have never even seen nor spoke to the man in person.

Makes one think don't it ... or in the case of the ruminators NOT think, as it is too painful to confront the reality of who trumpler really is.

“If a woman like Roberta Cross doesn't like him then he's just what the country needs!”

Lol. Yep, not liking Trump is a sure fire cause for impeachment. Last night I looked at the 35 people doing the impeachment rally in DC. I found the signs particularly amusing. The proverbial smogsboarq of offensives to the offended, none of which are impeachable. Trump said this, Trump did that. Trump is a racist. My favorite one was from the crowd in LA stating “Trump inspires mass murderers.” Hmmm. If one has read the last two manifestos (Australia and El Paso), one would have known that the radical Green agenda inspired the mass murderers, ROFLMAO.

“6 Reasons Pelosi’s Senate Obstruction Gambit On Impeachment Articles Is A Disaster”

If Nancy Pelosi truly thought Democrats had made the case that Donald Trump was an "urgent threat" to America, she wouldn't be refusing to send the articles of impeachment against him to the Senate for a full trial
Nancy Pelosi refused to commit to sending Trump’s articles of impeachment to the Senate, confirming House Democrats’ true intentions are far from ‘saving our democracy‘
After the vote to impeach Trump, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she will not name impeachment managers until the Senate vows to hold a “fair” trial.
Hmmm. Hey, we were told that impeachment is not a criminal process nor a courtroom. Got it. Rules are different because it’s all a political process. Got it. Now they want the trial to not be a political process? I am confused. :)

,,,ToeJ,,,the business of Congress should be about something other than just impeachment,,,since Moscow Mitch has stated he will not run a fair trial it makes no sense to waste more of the people's time...
