“[Anyone willing to offer a guess as to the date on which the Senate will deliver its verdict?”
Not me. Oh, I could hazard a guess, but not before checking the Dem primary calendar for key dates.
From my scholarly Constitutional law friends (who have pretty much batting 100%) there are some rules governing the Senate Impeachment Trail of the Century. Could be just a rumor and something Chucky the Clown will fight with all his might to find a sleazy workaround.
-After Chief Justice Roberts swears in the jurists, all 100 members of the Senate must be present for the duration. No exceptions.
-All 100 members must sit there quietly.
- The trail will be six days a week, no exceptions.
-All questions of witnesses must be handwritten and delivered in advance to the witnesses.
-All questions from the Senate members must be hand written In advance and delivered to the defense and ‘managers’.
-Silence from the jurors is a must. No Impromptu press conferences during breaks like we witnessed on the House steps.
With that said, my cloudy crystal ball sees 5-7 weeks max.
The Unhinged are counting on the hyperventilating Lame stream Media to carry the spin. Notable mentions will be the leader of the pack, the NYT, Wa Compost, Huff-n-Puff Farting Post (a favorite of our adorable lefty sock puppets here), VOX, and the Perfect 10 without boobies... Ms. Rachel Madcow. Don’t know if they can count of the Daily Beast not to toe the party line. The Deep State prefers to leak propaganda to the Wa Post and New York Times, and CNN first.
Whatever the spin is, I am certain that “Trump is a racist lying Nazi, Orange Man Bad Bad Bad, he makes my skin crawl, barf barf” will be forthcoming.

It’s ‘warm the cockles of me heart’....not ‘ my heart’. Keep trying until you get it right, genius. I think you need some anger management class, or at least three deep breaths in your Yoga pants. Talk about angry an old white man, Self awareness is not your forte. No worries, it runs deep in your crowd. Come with the territory, I reckon.
——————————-
Dem Debate, aka, the Debate no one wants to talk about. I can’t imagine why.
WHO’S ZOOMIN’ WHO?
Yesterday CNN released audio of the exchange between Senators Warren and Sanders following the Democratic presidential candidates’ pre-impeachment debate on Tuesday night (video below). CNN reports the exchange as follows:
“I think you called me a liar on national TV,” Warren can be heard saying.
“What?” Sanders responded.
“I think you called me a liar on national TV,” she repeated.
“You know, let’s not do it right now. If you want to have that discussion, we’ll have that discussion,” Sanders said, to which Warren replied, “Anytime.”
“You called me a liar,” Sanders continued. “You told me — all right, let’s not do it now.”
Who’s zoomin’ who? If Sanders really said to Warren that a woman can’t be elected president, wouldn’t Warren have said “You know you said it” rather than “You called me a liar”? Why didn’t Sanders just reiterate his denial in response to Warren rather than defer the issue?
Let’s do it now! 18 seconds.

The gusher begins:
White House violated the law by freezing Ukraine aid, GAO says
"The White House budget office violated the law when it froze U.S. military aid to Ukraine, the Government Accountability Office concluded in a new report.
President Donald Trump ordered the hold on the critical security assistance in July, a slew of senior White House officials testified to House impeachment investigators late last year. It was a move that coincided with an effort by the president and his allies to pressure Ukraine to investigate Trump’s Democratic rivals.
“Faithful execution of the law does not permit the president to substitute his own policy priorities for those that Congress has enacted into law,” the GAO wrote in an eight-page report released on Thursday.
Story Continued Below
Trump’s decision to withhold nearly $400 million in military aid, which he reversed in September after House investigators began probing the move, is at the heart of the articles of impeachment the House passed last month, and it will be a central focus in the Senate’s impeachment trial that begins later Thursday.
The report undercuts an oft-stated defense of Trump’s decision to hold the aid back: that it was a lawful exercise of the president’s authority."

Yep, the young people and the good looking chicks are flocking to Bernie. Biden not so much, Warren not so much. Bernie owns that demographic, no doubt. Guess Biden is counting on not needing them and the only member of The Squad is that lady from Boston that nobody call remember her name. They should call the Squad “three members and that black chick from Boston.”, IMHO
So, were are the boys? Where, where, where? Where are all the girls?
“Feminist trailblazer and Clinton surrogate Gloria Steinem joined Albright in denigrating women who support Bernie Sanders for the presidency. Steinem appeared on Bill Maher’s HBO program on Friday. She argued that women become more politically active and less conservative as they grow older, and suggested that younger women were backing Mr. Sanders just so they could meet young men.
“When you’re young, you’re thinking: ‘Where are the boys? The boys are with Bernie,’ “ Steinem said.
——
Why cram a Clinton presidency down women’s throats? Clinton is losing younger women to Sanders by a six-to-one margin. In Iowa, where she barely squeaked out a win, Sanders won 70 percent of voters aged 17 to 29.
https://www.commdiginews.com/politics-2/threats-by-madeline-albright-and-gloria-steinman-backfire-on-clinton-57211/
I remember in 2016 (primary season) when some network reporter went out to a (small) Hillary event and she could not find one young woman who was there that wasn’t being paid to be there to help with refreshments and greeting line or “my mother made us come.” She asked the only ones she could fine and not one was excited about Hillary. lol. Ok, boomer.
The younger folks like Bernie. He is a chick magnet for sure.

How come you weren't losing what's left of your mind about Obama's illegal prisoner exchange of Bowe Bergdahl?
Posted by: fish | 16 January 2020 at 01:48 PM
Opps. Explanatory Correction moi, 1:38
Darn. The three Squad members are swooning and campaigning hard for Bernie, and the fourth one went in for Warren. Makes sense since they both claim Boston, MA is their home turf. Just differing shades of dark dark blue. But, nobody likes Warren but white feminists, just like the hated Gillibrand, slayer of Stuart Smiley.
Remember when Gillibrand on the stage was asked what she would do about all the crime and shithole living conditions in the black community in Baltimore? Her answered stands as one that goes down in the record books. “I will go out into the suburbs and teach white women about White Privilege.” She knows how to talk to white women and they will listen to her, By Golly.
That’s is a sure fire solution! I am beginning to have the same fondness I have for Warren as it harbor for Gillibrand, that great Senator from the Empire State.
Wonder if and when the 4th member of the Squad (the one nobody remembers her name) gets the boot from the Trio?

Is it time for a group hug? I am in the mood and indeed a most sensitive guy. Never denied it and I got my Daddies issues and My Feminine side issues all reconciled years ago. Sweet. How about we each tell each other an encouraging word? Some “I appreciate you” back and forth. No? Ok, how about some quotes:
Insight: “Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.” —Eric Hoffer (1902-1983)
For the record: “One billion people have been lifted out of extreme poverty since Bernie first started to use the phrase ‘race to the bottom’ to describe international trade agreements.” —Matt Welch
Belly laugh of the week: “In Iowa, the Democrat candidates were downplaying the economy. But come Wednesday, November 4th, just about the only unemployed Americans will be failed Democrat presidential candidates! (Granted, that’s a lot of people.)” —Gary Bauer
Ouch: “Given the circus in the House, I’m surprised she didn’t use crayons.” —Sen. Ted Cruz on Nancy Pelosi giving out signing pens after signing impeachment articles
Political theater: “They claim it’s a somber, serious occasion they’re heartbroken over… and then they pass out impeachment-signing pens with special cases. Folks. You can’t make it up.” —Rep. Mark Meadows
Braying jenny: “On December 18th, the House of Representatives impeached the president of the United States — an impeachment that will last forever.” —House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
Non compos mentis: “The allegations, for which there is a mountain of evidence, are that the president betrayed his country by trying to extort the [sic] Ukraine by withholding $391 million dollars in military aid that Congress had voted in order to get Ukraine to announce an investigation of a domestic political opponent. That’s the allegation. Any witness who has information about whether that is true or not true is a relevant witness. Anybody, like Hunter Biden, who has no information about any of that is not a relevant witness.” —House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler
Dezinformatsiya: “This impeachment has now set into motion a removal trial. The big question is, what about all of this new evidence emerging of clear wrongdoing? Can the Senate really choose to ignore it?” —CNN’s Chris Cuomo
Not-so-friendly fire: “I think you called me a liar on national TV.” —Elizabeth Warren to Bernie Sanders after their debate spat
And last… “All I want is Trump to host a rally during a Dem debate but instead of him doing his normal speech, he watches the debate with the crowd and adds live commentary.” —Caleb Hull

PaulE 143pm - #1 you err Paul, in this case it is the interpretation by the source that is germane, the GAO is not gospel on any interpretation of law as I pointed out; it is their bureaucratic and probably partisan opinion. This is a fine point that your TDS made you miss.
https://pjmedia.com/trending/the-gao-ruled-obama-broke-the-law-but-no-one-called-for-his-impeachment/
As a free point of tutelage, going after the source for reporting a point of fact that can be independently verified as the only argument in opposition is both weak and wrong. When Huffpost or Breitbart report that 12" = 1', then neither source can or should be disparaged.
#2 your charge of "Typical George response-go after the source not the content." is totally unsubstantiated, lame, and petty. I challenge you to prove it.

Fight behind the gym after school today!! Go get ‘em, Bernie Bros.
IS WARREN NOW THE NEW HILLARY CLINTON FOR BERNIE BROS?
The Washington Post reports:
“An angry split among liberal Democrats broke into the open Wednesday as two prominent presidential candidates exchanged accusations of dishonesty, raising fears among party leaders of a repeat of the internecine bitterness that many Democrats say contributed to President Trump’s victory in 2016.
The fears are not without a basis. Yesterday, some irate supporters of Sanders circulated a #NeverWarren hashtag. #WarrenIsASnake also began trending.......
It’s no accident that a “Warren is a snake” theme quickly emerged from the post-debate dustup. Some hard core Sanders supporters already viewed her that way, in part because of the less than straightforward way she intends to take on corporate power.
Now that the dustup has occurred, Warren has probably solidified herself in the minds of some hard core Sanders supporters as the functional equivalent of Hillary Clinton. They might well be as reluctant to back Warren if she’s the nominee as they were to support Clinton four years ago.“

“The Department of Defense violated section 8111 of the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2014 when it transferred five individuals detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to the nation of Qatar without providing at least 30-days notice to certain congressional committees," the GAO explained."

Gosh, do you know how stupid that Project Veritas Bernie Bro is?
Yo genius, it was the Dem Convention of 68 when they had tear gas in the streets, not 70 or ‘71. And It was in Chicago, like in The Chicago Seven, duh. And, oh enlightened one, it was not McGovern at the tumultuous affair, it was Hubert Horatio Humphrey Jr...HHH. George Mc Govern was 72, idiot.
What are they teaching kids these days? Rant over. I feel better. Thanks.
Exit question: why do all the Antifa young people remind me of the Bros? Those antifa dudes and hot chicks are all in for Bernie with both feet. Where else can they go? Where did Brother Ben go?

Even never trumper Wallace sees the game -
“Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace told Fox News Radio's “Brian Kilmeade Show” on Thursday that he agreed with host Brian Kilmeade's criticism of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., for handing out commemorative pens -- with her name on them -- after she signed a resolution transmitting two articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate for trial.
“That was not a good look for Nancy Pelosi,” Wallace said in response to Kilmeade’s comment blasting the move.
“I actually think she hurt herself,” Kilmeade said. “And that show yesterday looked so phony, that solemn march while handing out commemorative pens.”
“I completely agree with that point,” Wallace said in response.

PELOSI HANDS OUT SOUVENIR PENS, DEMS SLAMMED FOR GLOATING AS HOUSE DELIVERS TRUMP IMPEACHMENT ARTICLES
To critics, the tone of the event seemed celebratory -- a far cry from the December day when the House voted to impeach Trump. On that occasion, Pelosi wore black and insisted on the House floor it was a “solemn” day. Later, she even cut short two rounds of cheers from Democrats when the articles were adopted.
Before Wednesday's signing ceremony, aides set out two small trays containing more than two dozen black pens emblazoned with Pelosi's signature. She entered the room and sat at a table with the documents and pens before her. House managers and the committee chairmen who had worked on Trump's impeachment were standing around her. Pelosi picked up each pen, signed a bit, and handed each one to a lawmaker. Occasionally, she smiled.

You could hear the heads pop he signed it 0
President Trump acted in the best interests of the American people Thursday when he signed an executive order to bolster and protect the rights of students to pray and discuss God in their schools. The order champions and reinforces the freedom of religion guaranteed to us in the Constitution as one of our most important rights.
The president appropriately took the action on National Religious Freedom Day. His executive order also ensures that religious entities are not excluded from participating in government-funded programs.

Posted by: Paul Emery | 16 January 2020 at 05:01 PM
Answer the question Emery, NAME THE PENALTY. Just like any other law that gets "broke" there is a stated penalty if it's a "real" crime. Put it this way... NOT IMPEACHABLE..(large text so and old buzzard can see it)
Posted by: Walt | 16 January 2020 at 05:17 PM
Your boy "O" broke the many times when he handed out waivers with Obummercare. Same diff Emery.

Emery is working real hard to repeal the 6TH Amendment.
Emery likes the idea of guilty till proven innocent.
Since he and his Proggy friends don't have a lick of evidence that shows Trump Guilty of a crime. Real OR imagined.
Posted by: Walt | 16 January 2020 at 05:38 PM
So Don do you support Muslims and Buddhists the same freedoms to practice their religion in public schools as Christians, according to Trumps new dictum you champion in your 4:41 ?
Posted by: Paul Emery | 16 January 2020 at 05:41 PM
OK I will break it to Emery.. There IS NO PENALTY for breaking your beloved "law". Find it and READ it Emery.(like I did)
It's a procedural "law". Not a criminal, or civil law.
In other words,, There is no there, there.

It’s Logan Act time wrapped up with 17 Intel agencies agreeing. Yes, indeed, the NYT and Wa Compost and the Huff Farting Post all reported it and I do not deny they reported it. What I deny is....ah, Nevermind.
The Obama Administration did indeed wiretap Trump Tower and sent a spy in. Just read the Post and NYT, Jan and mostly March, 2017. It’s all there. And that big portrait of Bubba with a blue dress on they found in Epstein’s mansion did not hang itself. Change my mind.

re PaulE 450pm - like a wind-up doll that keeps repeating ad nauseum, here we have a liberal who cannot tell the difference between "accusations" (which to liberals is evidence) and impeachable acts. These same people have no understanding between the congressional impeachment process - inherently political - and the formal proceedings of a court of law. They are irredeemably ignorant (or cynically evil) about the whole matter. So we circle the same barn endlessly.

Gotta love the fact when it's pointed out how "O" "broke the law" before the ink was dry from the 20 pens he signed it with,
it's ignored as if it never happened. "NOPE, WE don't want to hear that... That was different"
The same "law" that Emery is whining over applied to Obamacare.
Posted by: Walt | 16 January 2020 at 06:33 PM
So George you contend that Trump is mot accused of anything that of breaks the law. Therefore in your view even if he did what he's accused of it is not impeachable. Is that a fair summary?

FEEL GOOD STORIES FOR TODAY
Today’s email brings this hysterical warning from the good folks at The Nation:
Trump’s attacks on public radio are sickening. Trump’s new budget will literally END funding for Public Radio!
Public Radio is SO important for millions of Americans. It provides accurate journalism and high-quality educational programming. Trump knows these cuts mean less educational programming for rural Americans, but he doesn’t care.
Could there be anything more cheering and cockle-warming than hearing that the Federal government might actually cut funding for NPR? (Though I seriously doubt that Trump’s budget proposal will literally END funding.) And can we do the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities next, please?
Next, Business Insider tells us that “Ronald and Nancy Reagan Hosted the Best White House Parties of All Time.” Surely this approaches a Jeffersonian self-evident truth? Seriously, how can you hope to beat this:
https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2020/01/feel-good-stories-for-today.php
New phrase of the day. cockle-warming.
Use in a sentence:
Could there be anything more cheering and cockle-warming than hearing that the Federal government might actually cut funding for NPR? (Though I seriously doubt that Trump’s budget proposal will literally END funding.)
