It can’t happen here.

Swedes Vote Climate Policy Biggest Waste of Tax Payer Money in 2019

“In 2014, the Swedish national government spent 5.2 billion Swedish krona (£419 million/$547 million), a number that has more than doubled to 12.6 billion krona (£1 billion/$1.3 billion) for the planned 2020 budget.

The government has more than doubled the appropriations for climate policy, but despite this, emissions no longer decrease. In 2018, emissions even increased. That is why climate policy has been voted the worst waste of the year,” Johan Gustafsson, Waste Ombudsman at the Taxpayers’ Association, said.“
“The wasteful spending poll results come as many Swedish municipal governments face financial hardship or even bankruptcy due to a lack of money to support recently arrived migrants who have largely remained out of the labour force.

An estimated 90 per cent of migrants who came to the country during the height of the 2015 migrant crisis and received permanent residency are unemployed.“

PaulE 728pm - indeed I would, and I did so when Obama was screwing around with his national scandals. While I didn't approve of any of it (as the record here shows), neither did I think they were impeachable offenses - presidents have a lot of latitude as provided in the Constitution.

Those mutha mullahs are watching the sand castle wash away from under their feet. They need to start watching their backs! Gotta love it -

A number of Iranian TV hosts and other public personalities have denounced the regime in the wake of Iran’s missile strike on a Ukrainian passenger jet that killed 176 people after the military mistook the jet for an enemy target.

“Apologies for lying to you for 13 years,” state TV host of “Good Morning Iran” Gelareh Jabbari posted on Instagram last Monday. “It was very hard for me to believe our people have been killed, forgive me for believing this late.”

The post, which was seen by NBC News, has since been deleted.

Taraneh Alidoosti, one of Iran’s most popular actors and a star of the Oscar-winning 2016 movie The Salesman, also criticized the regime in a post to her 5.8 million Instagram followers.
“We are not citizens, we are captives, millions of captives,” Alidoosti wrote. That post has also been deleted.

“The Islamic Republic is facing the worst legitimacy crisis in its 40-year history, and the pressures are mounting from every angle,”

Let’s look at the last impeachment we had. Clinton. Lied under oath giving sworn testimony. A federal judge confirmed Bubba lied under oath in a legal proceeding. With that said, it still did not rise to what is considered a high crime and misdemeanor. Acquitted.

Telling 2,600 bazillion embellishments not under oath does not rise to anywhere close to a high crime and misdemeanor. Just because the snowflakes and Trump haters wake up feeling uneasy or anxious, does not rise to the level of removal from office. That is what elections are all about.

(Bloomberg) -- China’s new top official in Hong Kong urged the city to enact national security legislation, raising speculation that Beijing might renew its push for a bill that prompted mass protests almost two decades ago.

Luo Huining, who was appointed earlier this month to lead China’s Liaison Office in Hong Kong, wrote in the Communist Party’s People’s Daily newspaper Monday that “external forces will infiltrate China without inhibition” if the city failed to pass such legislation. Luo cited the neighboring former colony of Macau and its adoption of a strict national security law as a model.

From the Shithole City crime beat.

“The “Inside Edition” crew used its tracker to find the thieves. They confronted the duo as they entered a train station.

The show’s reporter told the man that “five million people” will view his theft. The man responded that he was going to call his mother.

Eventually, the man abandoned the speaker. “Inside Edition” then tracked the stolen purse to a garbage can.

But while all of this was going on, thieves broke into the crew’s car and stole the camera equipment. As a result, five million people won’t see either theft, and “Inside Edition” is out thousands of dollars worth of equipment.”

And the beat goes on.

Byron York: Finally, the defense speaks.

ANALYSIS: On eve of Senate trial, White House strikes back

Hey, there’s that word ‘embellishment’ again.

"Democrats were in such a rush to impeach the President based on their predetermined narrative that they delivered a flimsy case based on embellished legal theories with no underlying crime - the first time it's ever happened," said Rep. Mark Meadows. "The response from the President's team confirms severe gaps in the the prosecutions legal case and facts.“

Biden campaign shits bricks.
In the memo, Biden’s campaign demanded media outlets explicitly state the former vice president engaged in no “wrongdoing” when reporting on actions he took in 2016 urging Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor. "

Save the fact Biden said so VERY publicly.

"“It is not sufficient to say that allegations are ‘unsubstantiated’ or that ‘no evidence has emerged to support them,'” the campaign wrote. “Not only is there ‘no evidence’ for Republicans’ main argument against the [former] vice president there is a mountain of evidence that actively debunks it.” "

Go right ahead Biden fans, say he didn't do it.

Bedtime stories. Another book.

“The excerpt describes how three of Trump’s then-top advisers — James Mattis, Rex Tillerson, and Gary Cohn — organized a session for the president designed to sell him on key aspects of conventional policy wisdom. According to Leonnig and Rucker, the three were alarmed by what they viewed as “gaping holes in Trump’s knowledge of history, especially the key alliances forged following World War II.”

By holding the session — a “tailored tutorial” in the authors’ words — the three hoped to educate Trump. In particular, they sought to instruct him as to why U.S. troops are deployed in so many parts of the world and why, in the view of the three, America’s safety depends on a complex web of trade deals, alliances, and bases across the globe.

Anyone want to guess how the “tutorial” went?

Right. According to the Post reporters’ sources, Trump “appeared peeved by the schoolhouse vibe.” Moreover, “his ricocheting attention span led him to repeatedly interrupt the lesson.”

(What nerve! He’s lucky to have avoided detention.)

Trump even went so far as to express dismay that the U.S. wasn’t winning the war in Afghanistan. When Gen. Dunford, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, explained that the military hadn’t been under orders to defeat the enemy, Trump lost his temper.

According to the Post reporters’ sources, he said, “I want to win.” Then, he added, “I wouldn’t go to war with you people” and told the assembled group, which included top military commanders, “you’re a bunch of dopes and babies.”

I don’t think this got the attention it deserves. Hit it boys, and a one and a two...

But a quick look at the Google machine shows it is put out by a right wing propaganda mill run by Steve Brannon...Robert Mercer...funded by Koch Brothers...

‘’’The Government Accountability Institute (GAI) is a conservative nonprofit think-tank[3]located in Tallahassee, Florida.[4][5] GAI was founded in 2012[6] by Peter Schweizer and Steve Bannon with funding from Robert Mercer and family.[7] Schweizer serves as the group's president.[8] The group is known for pushing conspiracy theories about Hillary Clinton in 2016, as well as conspiracy theories about Joe Biden before the 2020 election.[9]‘’’
According to Bloomberg Businessweek, it is "a self-styled corruption watchdog group chaired and funded by conservative mega-donor Rebekah Mercer."[10] Members of GAI's board of directors include Steve Bannon, Peter Schweizer, Hunter Lewis, Ron Robinson (president of Young America's Foundation), and Wynton Hall.[11]
GAI's research methods include analyzing tax filings, flight logs, and foreign government documents as well as engaging in data-mining on the deep web, which includes the 97% of information on the World Wide Web that isn't indexed by traditional search engines.[1]
Between 2012 and 2014, GAI received donations of almost $4 million from the Mercer Family Foundation and the Koch brothers-affiliated Donors Trust.[12][13]

comma-man "But a quick look at the Google machine shows it is put out by a right wing propaganda mill "

So why do you bother ever quoting the Washington Post? For that matter, why would any MSM sources that you accept ever write a book critical about the Biden Mafia?

That's weak tea as a complaint, but quite common. It so common, like the red-states-are-poor-and-stupid-see-here-are-the-stats that it might as well just have a number. It would take less typing.

For that matter, why write anything here if your screeds are nothing but news accumulators for biased news sources?

re: Article that BillT quoted -

"According to the Post reporters’ sources, he said, “I want to win.” Then, he added, “I wouldn’t go to war with you people”"

lol. Too funny. Exactly my thinking. I guess that the perpetual war party doesn't like a stick in the spokes.

From all appearances, the Blue Mob has it's own policy wishes:

. pro open borders
. pro international corporation
. pro perpetual war
. pro boots on the ground in Syria
. pro conflict with Russia
. pro Chinese imports

Well, at least they're actually *for* something as opposed to the nihilism of Emerianism. You can actually argue for and against the globalist elite (not to sound like Alex Jones, but it obviously exists), but not so much with Orange Man Bad. When you invent a religion composed solely of a Devil, it's hard to avoid a simplistic belief system.

Dougy whining this early? Here....🍼

,,,Sorry Scenes,,,but that is accurate information about the so-called '''institute''' from Wiki...sorry I hit send before pasting the Wiki link..

What is illuminating though is that you don't bother to think about the fact that the information I post is correct...and it does not make you suspect anything...you just blindly discount the narrative because it does not fit your skewed reality...

Dougy speaks for team donkey. They like fake news.

,,,here are some more breakfast goodies for you to munch on...warning! massive hypocrisy alert...both Demos and Conservos have switched opinions...can you say political!!!

But the bottom line is that the American people deserve to know what Trump is hiding by refusing to allow certain witnesses...he looks guilty to me when he tries to hide witnesses...

Dougy sounds like Chucky Schumer whining about LIBS not getting a rigged(in their favor) fair trial.

"What is illuminating though is that you don't bother to think about the fact that the information I post is correct"

1) The 'information' you post tends to be editorials or lacks context. Basically op-ed pieces.
2) You have no idea if it's correct. Posting other peoples' words from a somewhat damp comfy chair on the Ridge implies little real insight.

I don't mind the occasional article, but if that's all you bring to the table it's pretty sad.

The worst sin of the internet is being committed by comma-man. Being boring.

odlaW 919am - your point is well made, but please note that when posting a clearly 'thread-free' opinion comment - e.g. the voluminous dissertations of our beloved Mr Tozer - there is no requirement to provide a handle/timestamp preamble. It's only for ongoing topical threads where such appellations are needed by other readers.

Now ain't that special? ALL of Nevada County's "tribute payments" will go to Berkeley of the foothills.
"The money will come from California Public Utility Commission Electric Rule 20A, which charges rate payers about $1 a month that is then annually allocated to communities like Grass Valley, Nevada City and Nevada County to fund underground lines.
According to staff reports, Nevada City has accumulated $644,431 in Rule 20A funds and is borrowing about $100,000 from future credits. Over the last 14 years Grass Valley, Nevada City and Nevada County have averaged $60,493, $26,106 and $466,141, respectively, in funds, according to a PG&E report.

The city hasn’t yet determined if it will ask for a loan from the county to be repaid over 15 years, or ask for the money as a gift, as it would provide mutual benefit to city and county residents."

All that money going to Nevada City is no "benefit" to the rest of the county.

Whose party is it? I always Bernie does not have a chance because the far-left just don’t have the numbers....yet. The far left “liberals” were stuck at 19-21% for years, now gaining numbers. So, as we enter 2020, whose party is it??

“An important story lost below the din of the primaries, impeachment, and rallies, is the growing party rancor toward a vocal left flank the politicians have correctly identified as weakened.”

“A Sanders loss to Trump, which in 2020 is far more likely than it would have been in 2016, would result in party retribution against all involved. Primaries and political exiles would be sure to follow. Then, a similar fate was assured conservatives after Sen. Barry Goldwater’s general election loss and, 12 years later, Gov. Ronald Reagan’s unsuccessful primary against sitting Republican President Gerald Ford. A political movement far stronger than Washington party politics saw to scuttling those planned executions.

This battle may be Sanders’s last stand, but the war for control of the Democratic Party has just begun.“

Ocasio-Cortez Calls The Democratic Party ‘Center-Conservative’

During Blackout for Human Rights’ fifth annual MLK Now event, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said the Democratic Party is a “center-conservative” party. She cited the inability of Congress to vote on “Medicare for All” as the sole reason for this claim.

“The Democratic Party is not a left party, the Democratic Party is a center, or center-conservative party,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “We can’t even get a floor vote on ‘Medicare for All,’ not even a floor vote that gets voted down. We can’t even get a vote on it, so this is not a left party. There are left members inside the Democratic Party that are working to try to make that shift happen.”

Time warp:

“In a jab at former Democratic (and Independent) lawmaker and "corporate shill" Joe Lieberman—who has continued to lobby for powerful private interests after leaving Senate just as did while serving in the body—Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) responded to his criticism of her brand of progressive politics by indicating his total irrelevance to the Democratic Party's future.

Cleverly, she did so by feigning not to know who Lieberman even was. "Who dis?" she joked in response to a tweet highlighting a Fox News story titled: "Ocasio-Cortez Isn't the Future of the Democratic Party: Joe Lieberman."

New documentary, new books, and new look.

“But there are some fun parts to the story, including Hillary’s unsurprising opinion that “Nobody likes [Bernie Sanders], nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.”

Of course, some of this is Hillary’s bitterness at what she thinks was the sexism of Bernie’s challenge to her in 2016: “It’s his online Bernie Bros and their relentless attacks on lots of his competitors, particularly the women. And I really hope people are paying attention to that because it should be worrisome that he has permitted this culture — not only permitted, [he] seems to really be very much supporting it.”

As Glenn Reynolds likes to ask, how come so many liberals and leftists (and their institutions) turn out to be such cesspools of sexism (and racism)?

“Why didn't Schiff have them deposed and then testify dugsKKKi?”

Ah, the question not answered. Why, why why? Circle the barn time.

When you stop and think about it, Schiffilis is the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Let that sink in. As Chairman of the Intel Committee, he has powers other members of Congress do not have. He has subpoena power. Let that sink in. Nancy does not have that power and at this point she is just a member of the House, nothing more, nothing less. One vote.
Why did Schiffilis not subpoena John Bolton? John said he never received one. Why, why, why?

The oblivious answer is Schiffilis, the self-proclaimed grand jury’s prosecutor of the Impeachment Articles , did NOT submit a good case. Let too many gapping gaps,. He, like Nadler, wanted others in another body to do the work for him which he miserably failed to do. Hearsay don’t cut it,
innuendo can only carry you so far.

Reminds me of when Mueller indicted the Russian trolls farm(s). Presented the evidence to the court and, lo and behold, one firm showed up and said “let’s rumble”. The prosecution panicked, asked for more time, and they were not ready, lol. Hey, if you make an indictment, it’s the prosecutor’s job to be prepared to go to trial, especially after filing charges. But, they were not prepared, lol. They had not even translated the evidence, most were comments on posts not seen in the USA and not in English, roflmao. The value was the charge, not the substance.

A few days ago Nadler was declaring from his stage that Hunter Biden had no value as a witness in the case and must not be called as a witness. Forbidden. I thought, “Too bad, Numbnuts, you have no say in the matter. You had your chance and blew it. No say. Nancy has no say. They just can’t get it through their alcohol soaked noggins that have no say no more. They just are not that important. All they have is opinions, from the outside looking in.

Wanna blame. Blame those who handed over an empty case with so many holes you can drive a Mac truck through it.

The proposition that "Biden is not part the impeachment" is beyond butt stupid. One of the two lame articles of impeachment the Dems could cobble together hangs ONLY on the involvement of the Bidens and their history (and alleged corruption) with Ukrainian oligarchs. If you take out Trumps legitimate desire to have the Bidens' Ukrainian involvement investigated, then that article disappears. The Dems cannot risk light being shined on the 'Biden dealings' with Ukraine for which we already have (video) evidence of the former VP's machinations with the Ukrainian government. Bring on the witnesses.

rcroww 135pm - a relevant and powerful point there. Can you point to some backup for that assertion?

But Dougy!!! This is ALL about that phone call. The ONE that got the impeachment going in the first place. Hunter is at the center of your Proggy universe. The proverbial black hole.
It's all about your corrupt son of a bitch. Ukraine corruption at the core.
Can't have Hunder bring Daddy down.(who else will help support the latest bastard of the family? Hunter don't(ya. right) have the money.)

Score 1! for team Trump.
LIBS ass sore...
"Democrats lost the first round in President Donald Trump's impeachment trial when the Senate voted down an attempt by Chuck Schumer to subpoena a cache of documents from the White House regarding the Ukraine."

'''If you take out Trumps legitimate desire to have the Bidens' Ukrainian involvement investigated'''

,,,Wrong George,,,it was not a '''legitimate''' investigation. It was undertaken a private matter between Trump and Giuliani, Trump's personal attorney...

What don't you understand about the difference between '''private''' and '''official''' investigations???

That's what you get for listening to fake news Dougy.
It's ALL "official".

,,,Wrong Wally,,,

The actual score is 1 for team Trump...and a big fat zero for the American public...

Trump continues to chickenshit out and hide documents and witnesses from the public...

Trump continues to chickenshit out and hide documents and witnesses from the public…

Wahhhh……sniffle…..whaha..whaha, whaha…….! Your salty ham flavored tears……..mmmmm…..delicious!

Beyond butt stupid Wally,,,Parnas is a Trump government official? What agency was he working for...Is Rudy working for the SEC? The FBI? CIA? Let's see his pay stubs...

Why is Trump hiding documents? Why is Trump hiding witnesses? Nancy Pelosi stated publicly that Trump was welcome to come in to testify... She might have even tweeted the invite. And as Trump says Twitter is now the official communications arm of the Trump administration... We know Nunes nose is a permanently stained dirty orange-brown color...he is a known liar...

...but you said testifying was a known perjury trap...but you would only say that about someone who you know is guilty...

George Rebane

odlaW 227pm - You must have missed the telcon between Trump and the Ukrainian president Zelensky that gave second wind to the Dems' witch hunt after Mueller failed to deliver on Russia.

Kick and whine Dougy!!
Schitt for brains is acting out too.
Insult the Senate.. That will really score some points.

Oh.. Something called the 6TH Amendment... Read up on that.

Bill Tozer

Go to your whine cave.

Besides. Trump and the W.H. have released thousands of documents. At some point one will say "ENOUGH!!🖕 YOU! SEE you in COURT!!" and here we are. YOU and YOURS still have nothing.

Bill Tozer

@ 2:44 pm

Trump guilty of exposing the lying Schiffilis & Co for what they are.

,,,LOL,,,here are some cute pics of Parnas place saver next to Trump, photos of the dinner guest Don Jr. ...but Donald Trump and Devin Nunes don't know Parnas...

No Dougy, If I wanted to see CNN, I would get trapped in an airport.

Posted by: Walt | 21 January 2020 at 02:58 PM

,,,I know Wally,,,you are afraid of the truth...

Todd Juvinall

Rudy said he was broken-hearted about Parnass. As far as pics? People sidle up t important folks for a pic all the time. And there was no Parnass in the chair in that picture. You cannot indict on such flimsy crap. But keep trying your masters are in the Senate yapping their lies as I write this.

You wouldn't know truth if it bit you in the ass Dougy.
Proggys like you don't know the meaning of the word.

"Truth" is winning in the Senate. "Truth" is Trump getting cleared by the Senate.

As for "truth", How bout that Hunter Biden? You sure don't want his "truth" seeing the light of day.

,,,Poor Todd at 310p and Fearful Wally at 258p...

Todd...your excuse is the same exact BS that Trump and Nunes have been trying to push. Both are known liars...

There is a link to the letter at the bottom,,,fraidy cat Wally...you can click it without wearing your garlic CNN repellent necklace...although I am sure you think you look cute wearing it....

,,,Among the documents is a letter that Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani sent to Ukraine's newly inaugurated president, Volodymyr Zelensky, in May.

Dated May 10, the letter showed the former New York mayor telling Zelensky he wanted to meet in person on May 13 and May 14.

"Just to be precise, I represent him as a private citizen, not as President of the United States," Giuliani wrote. "This is quite common under American law because the duties and privileges of a President and a private citizen are not the same."

Imagine that. Dougy brings up more fake news.
Run that up to D.C. Dougy.. Tell them what you have.
So you have some Proggy's opinion. BFD.

,,,The Liar in Chief does it again...

“I’m pleased to inform you: The American people should be extremely grateful and happy no Americans were harmed in last night’s attack by the Iranian regime."

Well, what do you know.... more and more service members were injured than the liar admitted...

Posted by: Walt | 21 January 2020 at 03:28 PM

Still afraid to read it???...sounds like a typical Trump lemming...still waiting for further instructions from Daily Caller, Fox, Breitbart???

Chuck E. "Cheesey" Schumer gets shot down again. It's going to be a rough night.

This isn't the boarding lounge at SFO Dougy.
See what getting lied to by Leftist news got you?
All buttsore.

Desperation is setting in early.
"House impeachment manager Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) tried to dismiss Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz as not a “reputable constitutional law expert.”

Schiff did not respond directly to the White House argument that “abuse of power” was not an impeachable offense according to the U.S. Constitution. Instead, he targeted Dershowitz, whom he said was responsible for that argument."

Schitt for brains is entering "beyond" bullshit territory.

But now we know Parnass is a liar. He said Nunes was in Vienna last year when the facts are he wasn't. And there are many more. He is trying to do a Michael Cohen but it will fail. I have to say though you sure think you can spot liars. Look in the mirror.
