Morn'n friends and foes. May I distract your attention for a spell? Many of ya' were on that side of "just tax it.. Let the bucks roll in."
https://www.theunion.com/news/nevada-county-cannabis-tax-revenue-yet-to-meet-expectations/
"According to Treasurer-Tax Collector Tina Vernon, the county has collected $6,500 from cannabis businesses in the first two financial quarters they were required to report earnings. One estimate from the county executive office projected 2019/20 fiscal year tax revenue would be $60,000 and anticipated $210,000 for the following year.
Of the 44 county-approved cannabis businesses, 25 submitted their mandated quarterly returns and only a handful of those reported actual earnings, according to Vernon. The rest reported zero sales."
Now if these guys ain't making a lick of(legal) profit, just how are they staying in business? ( I already have a pretty good idea.)
Granted. It's early in the game. But don't forget what our pot "experts" were claiming right here.
Now how come all those local folks who "need their medicine"
ain't stepping up to buy? Remember? half the county was suffer'n from ailments only weed could fix! That pro pot lady said so, She had the numbers.
Yup, tax free weed sales is alive and well, the good old fashioned way.. It's just plenty easier.

Re Troll @1009 Not enough.
======================================
More bad news for the socialist dem clown car -
A recent Gallup poll has some encouraging news for President Donald Trump as his battle for reelection heats up: more than six in 10 Americans say they are better off than they were three years ago when he took office, and about the same number credit him for the improvement.
No incumbent president in the past three decades has enjoyed such a high percentage of people feeling better about their situations. In 2012, when former President Barack Obama was in the White House, 45% of Americans told Gallup they were better off than they were three years ago. In 2004, 1996 and 1992 the number was 50%.
In the survey, 61% said they were better off, 36% said they were not and 3% said they were about the same.
And a strong majority of Americans (62%) said Trump should get credit for improving the economy. Thirty-seven percent said he deserves a "great deal" of credit and 25% said he deserves a "fair amount." Nineteen percent said he should not take much credit and 18% said he deserved none at all.

odd-one 10:09 - "How many Trump refugees are there now who were former government employees that walked or were frog marched out the White Door???"
Since you asked - probably none.
Did you have some sort of point to make or were you just feeling lonely?
Don 10:15 - Live by the sword, and die by the sword. The economy could take a hit by election day and although it will probably have nothing to do with anything Trump's done, voters will sour on him and he'll lose. That is unfortunately how it is with all presidential elections.
The sad fact of full employment is a record number of folk that now have plastic and the first thing they do is max the cards out. A new set of wheels usually completes the monthly budget. The party is fun while it lasts. I'd be a very wealthy gentleman if I knew just how far that rubber band of debt (personal, governmental and corporate) can stretch before it snaps.

re: [email protected]:15
I don't doubt that quite a few people feel that things are going well, Trump might have had something to do with it, better to not mess with success. It's kind of a modern-day harvest king ala Frazer (Golden Bough) situation based on a 4 (or 8) year cycle instead of yearly.
Since the Party's favorite, Creepy Joe, has shown himself to be too much of a simpleton to even make it through a small primary, I'm going to have to swing in favor of either Her Nibs or Ms. Obama. In both cases, the Eternal Bureaucracy moves back into power and God knows HRC would love to get hold of the national microphone.
Remember that the likely (D) candidate is for The People, so it's bound to be a good thing regardless of choice.

Mike Bloomberg Hires Instagram Influencers, FYRE Festival Social Media Experts To Promote Presidential Campaign
Most notable among Bloomberg’s targeted accounts, though, is Jerry Media, the infamous digital agency that “headlined” the social media strategy for the FYRE Festival — a bizarre effort to create an “exclusive” music festival on a remote island in the Bahamas that ended with thousands of stranded festival-goers forced to fend for themselves, “Lord of the Flies” style, after organizers failed to bring even the most basic aspects of a music festival together ahead of the scheduled event. The Daily Beast reports that some individuals affiliated with the FYRE Festival have pointed fingers at Jerry Media for being “complicit in the scam.”

Money is the mothers milk of politics so drink up team Trump -
Pro-Donald Trump groups raised more than $60 million in January and have more than $200 million on hand for this year's general election, shattering fundraising records on the path toward a goal of raising $1 billion this cycle.
Trump's 2020 campaign manager, Brad Parscale, said Democrats’ “shameful impeachment hoax and dumpster fire primary process” have contributed to the “record-breaking financial support” for Trump’s reelection.
“With President Trump’s accomplishments, our massive data and ground operations and our strong fundraising numbers," Parscale said, "this campaign is going to be unstoppable in 2020.”
The pro-Trump effort said it has gained more than 1 million new digital and direct mail donors since Democrats launched their push to impeach Trump in September 2019. The investigations proved to be a fundraising boon for Trump's campaign, even as the president was personally frustrated by the scar it will leave on his legacy.
The Trump team's haul and cash on hand were twice that of former President Barack Obama's campaign and the Democratic National Committee at the same point ahead of his 2012 reelection.

The Senate majority leader and staunch Trump defender was asked to weigh in on Barr’s reaction to Trump’s tweets during an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier. The attorney general had said in an ABC interview earlier Thursday that the president’s “constant background commentary” was making it “impossible to do my job.”
“I think it’s time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases,” Barr said in that interview.
“My reaction to that is the president made a great choice when he picked Bill Barr to be attorney general. I think the president should listen to his advice,” McConnell said of the comments.
“So, you have a problem with the president’s tweeting as well?” Baier pressed.
“I think that if the attorney general said that it’s getting in the way of doing his job, maybe the president should listen to the attorney general,” McConnell replied.

‘After FISA Abuse, Chuck Todd Thinks DOJ’s Problem Is Too Much Accountability’
The U.S. Founders never would have adopted Chuck Todd's dangerous proposition that bureaucrats be allowed to operate a police force without political accountability
“The disgruntled Mueller attorneys misled Department of Justice officials about their sentencing plans. When the political leadership learned of the egregious recommendation, they filed a new memo saying, sanely, vaguely, and mildly, that they now recommended fewer than the seven to nine years.
The media and other Resistance members flipped out and immediately sprung to action. Sidestepping the issue of the recommendation of nine years in prison, they began shaping a narrative that Barr had no right to exercise such oversight of the agency he, well, oversees. Media ran story after story suggesting that political leadership of the agency — not rogue agents behaving irresponsibly — was in crisis.“

Trump is going to flip out over this. His orange face will turn to red:
Andrew McCabe, Ex-F.B.I. Official, Will Not Be Charged in Lying Case
The decision to decline charges appears to be a move to distance the Justice Department from President Trump, who has long attacked Mr. McCabe.
The decision by prosecutors in Washington ends a case that had left Mr. McCabe in legal limbo for nearly two years. It also appears to be a sign that Attorney General William P. Barr wants to show that the Justice Department is independent from Mr. Trump: The notification came a day after Mr. Barr publicly challenged the president to stop attacking law enforcement officials on Twitter and said the criticisms were making his job more difficult.

I don't doubt you can buy off Bernie, but my guess is that you need a POC, and a particular POC, to get the Bernie Bros online without promising them full-on socialism.
Their fear of being called a racist by their bro friends would overcome any lack of promises from a candidate. A vote for Michelle, she of the beautiful arms, is a proxy vote for Barack. Barack Obama was the bestest ever President of these United States, therefore it's a good thing.
At least Michelle's resume isn't a bunch lighter than her husband's.

Insight: “In all men is evil sleeping; the good man is he who will not awaken it, in himself or in other men.” —novelist Mary Renault (1905-1983)
Friendly fire: “Bernie [Sanders] called me a political hack. That’s exactly who the f—k I am! I am a political hack! I am not an ideologue. I am not a purist. He thinks it’s a pejorative. I kinda like it!” —Democrat strategist James Carville
Non compos mentis I: “It has never made sense to me that a tiny group of people should have incredible wealth and power in America while most people have none. That is what we are going to change.” —Sen. Non compos mentis II: “We’re living right now under Donald Trump in a socialist society. The only difference is, does the government work for working people, or does it work for billionaires?” —Bernie Sanders
It’d be completely different alright: “The fair number should be $22 an hour. That should be the minimum wage in the United States of America: $22. Think about what this country would be like if we had a $22 minimum wage: completely different.” —billionaire Tom Steyer
The BIG Lie: “Nobody has said [Hunter has] done anything wrong. This is a guy who has done nothing but good things his whole life.” —Joe Biden
And last… “In the last week alone: A 15 y/o Trump supporter was attacked. A Republican voter registration booth was ran over. A California GOP HQ was vandalized. A 50 y/o man was punched after just being mistaken for a Trump supporter. And the media has been silent. I wonder why?” —TPUSA’s Charlie Kirk

"Two candidates, Michael Bloomberg and Tom Steyer, are billionaires who will be battling on Super Tuesday to crush the scourge of billionaires, Bernie Sanders."
It's extremely gratifying to see rank and file democrats, those who care desperately (and publicly) about the plight of the little guy pulling for a white billionaire New Yorker with racist and #metoo problems or a slightly less colorful white SF billionaire hedge fund manager who wants them to live in the dark against a millionaire politician who apparently who has done nothing in his life that didn't involve politics or agitating about politics (an early adherent of Emeryanism)!
.....choices, choices....???

Punchy @ 9:43 am.
Although I did not read your link, I am glad you posted it as it serves as the perfect example of which I wish to convey and may ease some of your fears....and possibly see a different standard at work here.
Barr is not the Müller hit squad. Barr declined to charge Comey earlier out the gate with one of those process crimes even though he had him dead to rights. Small stuff. Barr is looking for the truth, not convictions. It’s called justice. Let the punishment fit the crime. Not the way to kick off a big big investigation. Same with McCabe. IG fried him, got him on 4 solid “less than candor” statements, which is the FBI-DOJ lingo for lying. You (McCabe or whomever) must tell all you know, withhold nothing, tell the whole story when being questioned. Lack of candor means he was not telling the truth by withholding the truth. McCabe had been fired, has had to lawyer up, and he is gone. Fair enough. Put him through the wringer? Destroy him financially with endless questioning of him for months covering the same ground just to break him and his family? Leave him on ice for the moment.
Here is the point. Roger Stone got raided in the pre-dawn hours waking up the whole neighborhood, CNN camera crew on the scene ready to roll, more firepower than what was used against Benghazi, an FBI amphibious commando unit, plastic explosives, 4 swat units, and shoved a real assault rifle in his deaf wife’s sleeping face, screaming orders. All that was needed was to call Stone’s lawyer and have him drive down and surrender himself at 9:00 am. And recommend 9 years in prison??? Child pornographers don’t get 9 years in the Fed. Courts.
Remember that scenario I put out there about Sally Yates that got you so upset? You know, the imaginary raid on her house, agents burst in with guns drawn, yelling to her or her husband to tell those kids to STFU and putting a military style assault rifle to her head on the floor telling her to “go ahead an move one an inch, bitch!”
Well, that scenario is what The Müller boys did to Stone and others. Andrew Weisemen, the hit man. He don’t care about justice or truth. He just wants convictions, and was after Trump to take him down. Forced/fake confessions are great. Bend the rules, a law unto themselves. Weisemen has now been hired at MSMBC. Probably teaches a class on ethics as well like Comey, roflmao.
Bottomline: Barr don’t roll like the Dems. He is a white hat, defender of civil liberties, and whatever the law says. No BS, not venturing out into the gray area. No Logan Act crap. No inventing crimes. One charge against Stone is he said he e-mailed somebody when in fact in that time and day it was a phone call.
You should thank you lucky stars, Paul Emery, that Barr will not do the Swamp that which the swamp has done to others and who happen to be calling for Barr’s head on a platter at this very moment.

pemery: "Besides that Don who cares? Trump is going to pardon the whole crew before he exits after losing the election in Nov."
Well, that's a good point, except for the losing part. Why spend a moment worrying about innocent people railroaded by a politicized justice department if the God-Emperor is just going to let them out. Dunno about this 'losing' thing though. Sounds like someone needs to make a wager.
Once again, the Lesson of Trump is unearthed. Ignore his policies, they aren't particularly radical. The main thing is the rot he has uncovered. For the first time in decades, someone not particularly tied to the nomenklatura gets the throne and, guess what, it's full of dirty cops. The 'Progressives' weren't going to uncover that, I'm afraid that the Tea Party wasn't, and for sure the 420th Volunteers weren't going to peek up from their bar stools.
I suppose that is what this next election is about. The Bull in the China Shop vs. the bureaucracy and it's useful idiots. Popcorn all 'round.
Posted by: scenes | 14 February 2020 at 12:35 PM
Punchy asks “The TRUTH is Stone was found guilty of seven felonies by a jury. Do you deny that Bill ?”
No, I do not deny that. But, do you deny that if Barr was using the same Deep State Swamp Gas tactics, McCabe’s home would have been raided, Fox News tipped off in advance, and his wife and children, if any, would be laying on the floor crying with agents telling them to shut up or ripping the kids out of Mommie’s arms? That’s what Weisemen did to innocent corporate executives during the Enron case, all convictions overturned by the courts.
So, thank your lucky stars that Barr is now in charge and some of that excessive bull pucky trampling on civil rights and using law itself to pervert the law to use as a hammer against others....political enemies, not criminals. And Stone and others got caught up and pulverized in a witch hunt that the DOJ knew were was no ‘there’ there BEFORE Mueller was appointed. Ironically, they never charged Carter Page. Just used him to spy on Trump and his long shot campaign.
——-
Fun fact: Trump’s favorables (approval rating) on Election Day was 35-36%. Told ya allI we need is 38% and you well flabbergasted. Mid forties is great 9 months out. Been awhile since you posted Biden was up ten over Trump in head to heads in key battleground states. :). Go figure

Gregory
do you really think Flynn had a money problem Gregory? Here's just one example
"It was later revealed that his now-defunct Flynn Intel Group had been paid $530,000 by Dutch-based company called Inovo BV, which in turn had ties to the Turkish government.
The bulk of the $530,000 contract was to produce a documentary to boost Turkey’s image, as well as to conduct research on Gulen.
In March 2017, Flynn and his consulting firm retroactively registered as foreign agents working on behalf Turkey.
In a Dec. 2017 legal filing, though, Flynn admitted lying in the March filings to the Justice Department, including by falsely stating that the Flynn Intel Group did not know to what extent the Turkish government was involved in the project and that the op-ed was written on his own initiative."
This guy is just a lying crook Gregory and you refuse to accept that.

Did you miss Comey bragging he sent in his people to the WH as he knew it was in disarray and had his agents tell Flynn he did not need a lawyer for the interview? And then they bushwhacked him. Later the agents said they did not believe Flynn lied. But Comey and McCabe and the cabal wanted to press him to lie and he refused regarding Trump. If you did not know these facts you must stop blogging and doing the news as you are unqualified.
Posted by: Todd Juvinall | 14 February 2020 at 01:08 PM
Punchy, Punchy, Punchy. It’s the sentencing of 9 years in prison for Stone, skewing the guidelines to up the enhancements used for real criminals like El Chappo trying to kill witnesses and the like. It’s not Stone’s guilt in question here, but the sentence. The low level prosecutors went rogue and Barr was looking at it long before Trump’s tweet.
Stone should get 2-3 years in the real world his clean record. But, when it comes to TDS, off with his head!!
Bottomline: It don’t matter what we say, Stone says, the DOJ,Barr, or those prosecutors who stormed off sez. The judge, and only the judge sentences. It was a jury trial, the judge heard every syllable of the defense, prosecutors, witnesses, all evidence. She decides.
With the revelation of the jury foreman’s extreme and prejudicial biases, Stone has a decent case for a retrial. Do no good. With a DC jury pool of total statist loving former government workers and minorities that voted 93% against Trump, the deck is already stacked for the prosecution. Sentencing Feb 20. He just as may move the retrial to the Castro District, lol.
Thank goodness we appoint judges for life precisely so they will not be beholden to partisan hacks, commentators’ opinion and jail house lawyer know-it-all’s.
Posted by: Bill Tozer | 14 February 2020 at 01:20 PM
The pony tail of ignorance is again out of the loop. Flynn fired his old firm that was cozy with the prosecutors, the same crew that was hammered by the judge.
Flynn new law firm immediately ripped into the old team and the feds for colluding and lies by the government including doctoring an interview after the fact.
Flynn has withdrawn his guilty plea and has richly documented massive prosecutorial misconduct by mullers hand pick crew that was kicked to the curb for lying to the DOJ and their supervisors name was withdrawn for a doj promotion the day before she was to have a senate vote.
Classic swamp games that fell apart. Pass the popcorn!

Here is an educational update for the pony tail of ignorance from todays news -
The Department of Justice recently opened an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the FBI's interview of Michael Flynn while he was serving as President Donald Trump's national security adviser, according to two people familiar with the inquiry.
Flynn pleaded guilty to giving false statements to the FBI during that interview, but recently asked to withdraw that plea, further delaying his sentencing.
Attorney General William Barr asked the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, Jeffrey Jensen, to look into Flynn's FBI interview, the people familiar with the inquiry said. The inquiry began within the past month, they said.

Botox blew it up with failed impeachment shot unfortunately creepy geampa joe was the collateral damage when she missed the president. -
Here are the bottom-line numbers.
A majority of “52 percent of voters believe it was inappropriate for the former vice president’s son, Hunter Biden, to take the job with the firm Burisma.”
Only 18 percent said it was appropriate.
An even bigger majority of 57 percent describe it as a legitimate scandal, while only 19 percent agree with the fake news media that it is not a scandal.
Only 40 percent say the Biden-Ukraine scandal will not affect their vote, while a whopping 31 percent say it will. Politico tries to spin that as good news, but that 31 percent is actually very bad news for what is certain to be a close primary and general election race.
Despite months and months of media propaganda arguing (falsely) Biden did nothing wrong, 54 percent see the Biden-Ukraine scandal as a conflict of interest, while only 16 percent say there is no conflict of interest.
Of that 54 percent, 35 percent want it investigated, and 19 percent do not.
The worse news for Biden comes from independents, 54 percent of whom describe Hunter Biden’s business dealings as “inappropriate.” Only 12 percent disagree.
A majority of independents, 57 percent, described the Biden-Ukraine affair as a scandal, while only 15 percent said it was not. Of that 57 percent, 28 percent said it was a “major scandal,” 27 percent a “minor scandal.”
There is just no question that Nancy “Master Strategist” Pelosi’s gobsmackingly stupid plot to either remove Trump from office or, at the very least, damage his reelection chances via impeachment, has not only backfired; it backfired all over Poor Ol’ Joe Biden, the best chance Democrats had of winning in 2020.

‘Report: FBI Handed Over Classified Information To Spy Christopher Steele’
“Inspector General Michael Horowitz discovered that FBI agents shared extensive classified materials with former British spy Christopher Steele, despite knowing the Democratic National Committee was paying Steele and that Hillary Clinton herself was aware of Steele’s research, according to a new report by Eric Felten at RealClearInvestigations.
FBI agents met with Steele in Rome just a month before the 2016 election, where they gave him a “general overview” of Crossfire Hurricane as well as details of the cases against Trump campaign staffers Carter Page, George Papadopoulos, Paul Manafort, and Michael Flynn. In addition to the intel, Steele was compensated $15,000 by the FBI for attending the three-hour meeting.“
