It would be interesting to make all the questions about running for office, it's the only thing professional politicians know about anyway.
I'm serious. Watching them fight about bonafide domain knowledge would show their general thinking-on-their-feet abilities plus I might learn something.
Either that, or a Google interview.

You can see the priorities for some people -
The Los Angeles Times reports that gun stores are one aspect of the economy seeing a surge in business as Californians react to coronavirus news.
According to the LA Times, the line of customers at the Martin B. Retting Gun Shop in Culver City stretched out the front door and around the block on Saturday. Many of those in line waited five hours for their opportunity to buy a gun.
The owner of Laguna Guns & Accessories in Elk Grove, California, told the LA Times he has not seen guns sell at this pace since just after the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Marijuana dispensary and liquor store sales are also surging.

Why can't Republicans get any traction on the Ukraine/Biden connection?
London (CNN)When Republican lawmakers this week abruptly canceled a plan to subpoena a former Ukrainian official in their investigations into the energy firm that hired former Vice President Joe Biden's son, they said it was to allow more time for senators to receive additional briefings.
But a Ukrainian magazine editor has told CNN that the target of the subpoena, Andrii Telizhenko, once offered him money to lobby US senators on behalf of pro-Russian media outlets.
A former Ukrainian diplomat, Telizhenko is an ally of Trump's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, and has been an enthusiastic proponent of the debunked theory that Ukraine, and not Russia, interfered in the 2016 US elections.

My (former) 1866 US Calvary issued single shot rifle was not a firearm. The ATF classified that baby as ‘an antique’. Not a gun. Once, in a mischievous mood, I dressed particularly hobo-esque, drove went to town and walked up and down streets and downtown carrying the heavy long arm. Sure enough, somebody called the cops as planned. Or maybe the cops saw me. Anyway, I pulled out the AFT classification, documentation, papers of bill of sale, and even whipped out my ATF explosives and transportation permit (at the time) just to show off. Anyway, I did that once. I made my argument that this in not a firearm or gun or weapon, lol. After that, I never wasted my time or LE’s time again. I just had to try it once. :)
Discretion is the better part of valor. Just because I can does not necessity mean I should. :). Akin to the Constitution ruling that it is an expression of my free speech rights to flip off a cop. However, something tells me that it may not wise to exercise that right. Besides, I am pro-LE. (Hope Shannon Moon reads this). I am a good guy!
BTW, that 1866 rifle was the standard issue US Calvary single shot rifle used by General Custer’s troops at Little Big Horn. The Native Tribes were no dummies. They went to Canada and got repeaters....a fact we have discussed here before. Custer plenty blew Big Horn....which is why his most notable quote may be “War is Hell”. :).

Well, I gotta compliment Punchy for using his real name. Thus, the definition of our Punchy Troll does not quite fix. The Matrix is not perfect:

Still, I wonder sometimes when Punch takes offense and answers in the first person at a comment directed at a third party troll. When I was a kid, trolls were ogres hiding under the bridge. :)
All is not lost. If the shoe fits..... Odd that Punchy would even toss in his two-cents over a definition that does not apply to him. Rather touchy, touchy. Touched a trigger, apparently.

Typical conservative Trump ass kissers,
For weeks, some of Fox News’s most popular hosts downplayed the threat of the coronavirus, characterizing it as a conspiracy by media organizations and Democrats to undermine President Trump.
Fox News personalities such as Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham accused the news media of whipping up “mass hysteria” and being “panic pushers.” Fox Business host Trish Regan called the alleged media-Democratic alliance “yet another attempt to impeach the president.”
But that was then.
With Trump’s declaration on Friday that the virus constitutes a national emergency, the tone on Fox News has quickly shifted.
On his program on Friday, Hannity — the most watched figure on cable news — lauded the president’s handling of what the host is now, belatedly, referring to as a “crisis.”
“Tonight, we are witnessing what will be a massive paradigm shift in the future of disease control and prevention,” he said. “A bold, new precedent is being set, the world will once again benefit greatly from America’s leadership. . . . The federal government, state governments, private businesses, top hospitals all coming together, under the president’s leadership, to stem the tide of the coronavirus.”

Remember when Katrina rolled through? They were out trying to confiscate weapons.
https://gunowners.org/guns-confiscated-during-katrina/
"Nine days after Katrina made landfall, a New Orleans Police Officer showed up and told us we had to leave – a ‘mandatory evacuation’. I told him ‘you come back here at five and we’ll go together.’ I never saw him again.
That’s when the U.S. Marshals came.
They pulled their M16s on us and told us all to get against the wall. They came in and confiscated all my weapons. And by confiscated, I mean taken at gunpoint. I have never been able to recover any of my original collection, but I have since replaced them with new ones."
And before "buck" or Emery say "that's BS", here is another bit of fact.
http://www.nbcnews.com/id/27087738/ns/us_news-life/t/nra-settle-suit-over-katrina-gun-seizures/#.XnBWoahKg2w
"NEW ORLEANS — City officials have agreed to return hundreds of firearms that police officers confiscated in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, part of a deal to resolve a lawsuit filed by gun lobbying groups.
The settlement agreement filed Tuesday in federal court calls for the National Rifle Association and Second Amendment Foundation to drop their case if the city follows a plan for returning guns to owners who had them seized by police after the Aug. 29, 2005, hurricane."

Re: Fish @ 6:21 am; the Dictator won’t dictate.
Companion piece, aka, piling on.
‘Now, the Left is complaining that Trump isn't dictatorial enough’
This is the conundrum confronted by the harshest critics of President Trump, who have gone from warning he is a budding despot to complaining he hasn't done enough to impose his will during the coronavirus crisis.
They can't believe that he didn't urge sports leagues to cancel their seasons, call for school systems to close or tell bars and restaurants to shutter before this wave of closures began.
As a New York Times report put it, Trump "has essentially become a bystander as school superintendents, sports commissioners, college presidents, governors and business owners across the country take it upon themselves to shut down much of American life."
Ordinarily, tyrants aren't bystanders. They don't give other political players and civic institutions wide latitude to make their own decisions. They don't have to be pushed to declare a national emergency unlocking various powers. They don't have to be lobbied to call out the military to deal with a domestic problem.
Trump declared an emergency last week and has now issued national guidelines against gatherings of more than 10 people, but his initial instinct was to urge people to stay calm and carry on.
“The reason that Trump's conduct in this crisis hasn't tracked with the "incipient-fascist" line of attack is that this criticism never made any sense.”
“The initial indications of a Âfinancial crisis in 2008 were greeted with denial and half-measures. Then, the federal government responded with a historic bailout of the banks and the Federal Reserve undertook an Âunprecedented program to pump liquidity into the economy.
The outlines of a similar Âresponse are already evident to the coronavirus. The move from relative normality to large parts of the country being shut down was remarkably swift — it happened in the space of about a week.
Testing has been slow to come online, but is ramping up now. If hospitals are overwhelmed, we will see the rapid retrofitting of additional space. The Federal Reserve and the federal government are embarking on major stimulus and relief programs.
Such is our robust, multilayered society and system of government that much of this doesn't depend on the president, let alone a dictator.”

"Boy, like fire, the Leftinistas and Socialist Bastards are never satisfied, never content, never ever happy"
If it takes a worldwide epidemic to flip governments to the other party in the UK and the US, it's all good. Anything for open borders and men in dresses. I'd say they had a pretty good month.
The best thing that could happen from this, aside from the minimization of poor health outcomes, is to start chopping up those Chinese supply chains with a rather dull axe. Being dependent on our primary opponent for as much as we are is just flat ridiculous. I wonder sometimes to what extent the PRC was involved in getting the US chattering classes off on a Russian chase (squirrel!).
You can expect Trump to really start nailing the Chinese with fault for the virus (for good reason, of course) as a political tool to disengage with them. This is a smart move.

New super germ is being evolved? Not necessary. The Plague, the Black Death, and all sorts of Medieval diseases and killer germs have been brought back by popular demand on the streets of LA, not to mention City Hall’s rodent infestation. Hantavirus anyone? What good is it to bug-in with the Hantavirus virus in your attack and behind the washing machine. “Jesus, I can smell the rats!” Heck on cop lost his leg and had to have amputated just from catching some long gone virus while he was walking the beat.
New Super Germ? We don’t need no stinkin’ new super germ. We got Frisco values and the street people don’t worry about no stinkin’ toilet paper.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/03/16/nyc-mayor-bill-de-blasio-ignores-coronavirus-rules-to-hit-the-gym/
"“Our crazy Mayor, as he’s deciding to close all the gyms, because they’re not safe … goes to the gym to workout,” New York radio host Mark Simone tweeted on Monday, linking to a report by the New York Post. He is far from the only one shocked by the decision. De Blasio’s own people have called him out.
“He went to the f–king gym? Jesus!” said a former staff member. Another told the Post, “every New Yorker’s regular routine has been put on hold. His should be, too. Get to work. Set an example. This is embarrassing.” Yet another questioned his unwillingness to adhere to CDC guidelines"

re Mary 908am - Obama was never criticized for causing the last "financial meltdown". He was correctly criticized for prolonging it and stifling its recovery to be the longest/slowest in American history. But that again is one nuance too far for our leftwingers.

Nobody blamed Zerobama for causing the crash and Great Recession of 2009. He was criticized rightfully for his handling of the economy post-bailout. Remember Obama but Sleepy Joe in charge of handling the ‘Stimulus’ and announced the Spring Recovery Tour....led again by Joe Biden, roflmao. Talk about cash for clunkers.

This is a surprise to moi. Guess it’s true. Bernie never grew his base since 2016. Heck, when he went out on the trail to campaign for Hillary, he only drew 100-150 people at his stops. Empty gyms. Come to think of it, Hillary averaged 300 or less on many of her stops...with Tim Kaine. Remember him? :)
