[What remains the point of debates which are empty of citations that are commonly accepted by the debating parties? As I have pontificated here for some years, and am now joined by my betters like Victor Davis Hanson among others, we are so polarized that we no longer share any cognitive common ground. In other words, we arrive at venues like RR, not only with our own opinions, but also with our own unique ‘facts’ (thereby giving lie to Sen Moynihan’s dictum). The ensuing melee is then composed of nothing but ejecta of hot air flung at the other which make no lasting impact, let alone changing anyone’s beliefs. And yet, … and yet we continue to regularly assemble on both sides of this arena to dance our ferocious dances, making threatening sounds while shaking our spears and shields at the other side, like the natives of primitive tribes or beasts of the jungle that learned to wage faux ‘wars’ without really harming each other. Realizing this, perhaps we can all join in the attempt to discover the point of it all. gjr]
Oh my. Looks we are Day Two on Debbie Does the Dallas Cowboys.
Hey Punch, remember that time some bikers showed up at the White House and one biker had a woman engraved on his vest with pistols hanging off her nipples? Man, you were sure disgusted at the very sight of unclad boobies in the WH....or was it the pistols that got you going for a full day? Bet the sight of enchanting bosoms gave you a case of the heebee geebees almost as bad the case of the faints that the Guns hanging off her aerials gave ya.
Yep, our Victorian Puritan Moral Preener was howling about those little breasts and little guns. Guns and roses.
Did you know that Trump used STOLEN e-mails (Podesta’s campaign e-mails found readily available on line) and read them out loud at his thunderous high energy ‘blow the roof’ off rallies? Yep, Trump used STOLEN PROPERTY to affect the outcome of the 2016 elections AND Trump also invited Bikers for Trump and Biker Vets for Trump and a group of ‘Democrat Removal Service’ Bikers at the White House!!! The People’s House of all places!!
And now it’s reverse Cowgirls. Oh, mothers don’t let your sons grow up to be Cowboys. High em high. I can’t wait for Day Three.
For the record, I adore and like breasts on a sweet maiden. There is something magical about them, something awe inspiring, something worth admiration. I stand in awe of all the ladies. Go ahead Punch and run around covering everybody up. Well, at least the ladies you have been seen with. They are the best reason there are shelter in place orders.

What’s Trump hiding?
NO NEWS IS BETTER THAN FAKE NEWS
“Speaking of misleading the public, the Post observes that the Obama administration continued to release projections during the last recession even though they were unflattering.
True. However, Tenreiro reminds us that Obama’s projections underestimated GDP contraction by nearly 50 percent. They were, in a sense, fake news. No news is a better option.“

Emery and he/she will NOT be happy.
https://dailycaller.com/2020/05/28/armed-citizens-looting-minneapolis-george-floyd-riots/
This will really get ya' wizzing yourselves.
"A small group of self-described “heavily armed rednecks” guarded several shops against looters Wednesday night as riots erupted across Minneapolis.
When Minnesota Reformer reporter Max Nesterak asked two men with rifles standing outside a tobacco shop to identify themselves, one man responded, “free Americans.” "
And something Emery and he/she won't say,(because they haven't)
"the men expressed support for the protests sparked by the death of George Floyd while he was in police custody, they condemned the violence and looting taking place."
Why is it that it's always the Lefties that are violent and destructive?
It never happens with Conservative "protests".

PaulE 1025am - Well OK. Then I take it you have no problem with the violent pronouncements of Mad Max and her other House colleagues; and their unanimous silence on publicly repudiating the violent threats over the years from the equally extreme hard-left factions.

The New York Times reported Thursday that the U.S. is poised to announce they will pull visas from Chinese students who have connections to universities tied to the Chinese military, perhaps as early as this week.
The objective is to suppress suspected intellectual property theft and espionage that Chinese students have been accused of during their studies in the U.S. and could affect between 3,000 and 5,000 Chinese students at American universities.

I never claimed the lefties are never violent or destructive. there are extreme factions on both sides. However here you have the President of the United States openly endorsing the Cowboys for Trump that claim Democrats should be shot or hung with no exceptions. I'm sure you don't support that George yet you support Trump who actively ane recently does support this organization. Shouldn't a proclamation like that be investigated by the FBI and should they be allowed to carry firearms after making those death threats?

Yep, it is kinda hard to forget about the rioting and injury to humans committed down at Berkeley cause Milo was invited to speak. It’s commonplace across the liberal infestations of the US, Canada, and Uk that the authorities cannot guarantee safety for speakers the Libs disagree with.
Let that sink in. “Can’t guarantee their safety”. Really sez it all.
Remember U-Lock in the sock? A Latino US Marine beaten up because he was mistaken for a Trump supporter blocks from the Antifa mayhem. Oh, the list is too long, too many montages of Lefty violence against the elderly (if they thought they were going to vote for Trump), Eric Holder’s recent comments, Obama’s “if they bring a knife, you bring a gun”, Mad Max, and a long line of Celebrities touting everything from physical harm to the murder of Trump...or the Covington School boys.
Why anyone would listen to those coked up Celebrity air heads is beyond me. Actors, generally, are stupid. Ok, generally and collectively actors are not very smart. Besides, they have nothing to say that is worth listening to, yet think what they say is important! No self awareness. They actually think everyone (besides their groupies) values anything they say. Like having Greta speak on a COVID-19 townhall panel, ROFLMAO.
Anyway, I can’t remember a bunch of flag waving Americans turn into a violent mob and go chasing folks down the street to beat on their heads, with no exceptions for the elderly, women, or children. Can’t remember a demonstration or protects by the Right that turned into destruction of private property, overturned cop cars, arson, mayhem, and of course, rioting. Can’t recall Conservatives leaving a trail of carnage after a rally, big or small. It’s not our thing. See, we believe in peaceful assembly.
The left uses violent people as their tool to shut down opposition. The Occupy Wall Streets used the raping and doping boys in the drum circles as their enforcers, just as today’s Progressives use Antifa as their goons to get the job done.

The rawstory link you shared doesn't have any context, but then rawstory is a highly biased muckraking site.
THEY got their story from The Daily Beast, also a Democratic slanted source, but with some journalistic ethics. They wrote:
"“I’ve come to a place where I’ve come to a conclusion where the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat,” Griffin said to cheers at a rally at a New Mexico church. He was there to defy a public safety order pertaining to the coronavirus.
Griffin, a county commissioner in the state, hastily added that he only meant Democrats who were dead in “the political sense”—an effort at cleanup he repeated in an interview with The Daily Beast on Tuesday."
Thus avoiding a Chuck Toddism of ignoring what the person said.
Really, Paul, it's sad what passes for a news director at the local lefty community FM station.

Did Susan Rice write her CYA “by the book, by the book, by the book” e-mail to herself on Jan 20, 2017 at noon to protect Obama, or did Obama sign an Executive Order on Jan 12, 2017 (which allowed for the expansion of authorized unmasking from a few to many departments and personnel throughout gov’t) to protect Susan Rice....and all those who were involved in illegal spying on an opponent’s Presidential campaign?
In other words, did Obama sign the EO on Jan 12, 2017 to protect those involved in the illicit abuse of intelligence to spy on political opponents?

Trump and Pompeo outmaneuver those mutha mullahs again! -
Iran and Venezuela attempted to outmaneuver American sanctions by establishing a new oil partnership.
Two Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned ships that “were en route to Venezuela carrying Iranian fuel, scrapped their deliveries after the U.S. threatened sanctions,” a senior U.S. official told Fox News.
First reported by The Wall Street Journal, the ships were expected to arrive in Venezuela as the final delivery in a previously planned five-oil-tanker shipment, an effort that the Venezuelan regime has said is a partnership to thwart the American sanctions.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro said in a televised address: "We are two rebel revolutionary peoples that are never going to kneel before North American imperialism.”
But the Greek-owned ships would have been unable to access international banking and maritime insurance had they carried out the shipment.
U.S. officials have been in direct communication with the ships, which are no longer heading to Venezuala but heading south off the coast of Senegal near Liberia, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Bad news for the open boarders set and creepy grampa joe -
A business-funded poll backfired by showing that 56 percent of swing voters favor President Donald Trump’s decision to curb legal immigration for 60 days.
Only 15 percent of claimed independents in the May 6-8 poll of almost 2,000 likely voters strongly disapproved of Trump’s April 22 policy, according to the survey commissioned by the D.C.-based Bipartisan Policy Center. Also, 14 percent of respondents declined to state an opinion, suggesting even more support for Trump.
The BPC is a pro-migration advocacy group backed by businesses and run by Washington insiders and corporate chiefs. In 2014, the BPC was a cheerleader for the “Gang of Eight” amnesty and cheap labor bill, which was finally stopped by GOP primary voters in June 2014.
The poll results are a problem for business lobbyists, who fear Trump will extend his popular temporary policy. The results are also a problem for the BPC, which favors a higher inflow of consumers, workers, and renters, which can nudge down wages and drive up real estate values.
The public, in contrast, wants less legal immigration and more jobs and higher wages for Americans.

Rioting and looting are not protests. There is zero room for looting in any protest. Rioting is not a demonstration, just a plain o riot. But you knew that. :).
I remember reading a good long in-depth report in the LA Times during the Rodney King riots that broke out when the officers were not charged. The reporter saw a young man walking with his arms full carrying a stack of Nike shoe boxes he looted. The reporter asked the man if he was looting because of Rodney King. The man being questioned replied, “Rodney King? Which team does he play for?” That was how the article ended.

How many hours here were wasted on battling Fakenews? Too many for ponder. I guess it was not wasted time. Battling the Liberal lies and the Enemy of the People to get to the truth is worth the effort.
So many to choose from, so little time.
Eight Times the Liberal Media Screwed Up on Trump-Russia in 2017
#8. Four Does Not Equal Seventeen
The media loved to tweak Trump by repeating how the evidence proving Russian meddling in the election was the unanimous verdict of U.S. intelligence. “All 17 intelligence agencies have agreed Russia was behind the hack of Democratic email systems and tried to influence the 2016 election to benefit Trump,” the Associated Press noted on June 22.
Three days later, The New York Times published a piece that scolded Trump because “he still refuses to acknowledge a basic fact agreed upon by 17 American intelligence agencies that he now oversees: Russia orchestrated the attacks, and did it to help get him elected.”
This media talking point was used by journalists such as NBC’s Andrea Mitchell to speculate about the President’s mental health, as she did on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on June 30: “I’m certainly not a doctor, but I worry about him not having acknowledged the depth of the Russian hacking. We have 17 intelligence agencies all in accord, in a rare degree of agreement, with a high consensus, that it was Vladimir Putin who ordered this.”
But both The Times and The Associated Press eventually back-peddled on those hyped claims, admitting that only three agencies (FBI, CIA and NSA) had reviewed the intelligence, which was then issued by a fourth, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
The Times corrected first, on June 29, admitting: “The assessment was not approved by all 17 organizations in the American intelligence community.” The next day, the AP issued a correction that encompassed four separate articles: “In stories published April 6, June 2, June 26 and June 29, the Associated Press reported that all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies have agreed that Russia tried to influence the 2016 election to benefit Donald Trump....Not all 17 intelligence agencies were involved in reaching the assessment.”
Meanwhile, the media’s mis-reporting remains ubiquitous online, such as this USA Today story from October 2016 with the arrogantly false headline: “Yes, 17 intelligence agencies really did say Russia was behind hacking.”
No. No, they didn’t.

Well, I suppose the two day marathon Punchy session could have been worse. He could have spent the last two days expressing his disgust and outrage over Melania’s shoes. Scandal of the year. Horrifying for my mind to even consider that I responded. Now, that was a waste of time, but Punchy was just following the script he was given.

‘Exposing the hoax’
“Mueller’s two Russia indictments, of the troll-farmers and hackers, were always better understood as press releases than criminal prosecutions because everyone knew no Russian would ever be extradited to face the music. But Mueller botched the narrative exercise by charging businesses, evidently not foreseeing that they bore no risks of imprisonment or (as Moscow-based shells) ruinous fines. They retained experienced counsel, who showed up in court, demanded to be given all the discovery, and vowed to take the matter to trial. Ultimately, after first grudgingly conceding that they could not connect the social media ads to the Russian government (though an oligarch said to be close to Vladimir Putin was complicit), prosecutors dismissed the case rather than chance an embarrassing rout at trial. In the run-up, their theory of prosecution was shown to be untenable, and the social media ads themselves were ludicrous — childish, mostly legal under campaign rules, and costing just pennies (the defense claimed the few arguably actionable ones amounted to about $5,000 in expenditures). The suggestion that the troll-farm operation had any effect on the multibillion-dollar ocean of U.S. campaign spending was laughable.
Hacking has taken a hit, too. That is largely because Trump finally dispatched a pit bull to take on the intelligence community. The president eased out acting National Intelligence Director Joseph Maguire, installing in the post Richard Grenell, his hard-charging ambassador to Germany.
Grenell staged a showdown to force Trump nemesis Adam Schiff, the House Intelligence Committee chairman, to disclose hearing testimony from dozens of witnesses that had been kept under wraps for over a year. Among the most startling revelations was the testimony of Shawn Henry, president of CrowdStrike. That is the private cybersecurity firm retained by Democrats to conduct forensic analysis on the party’s servers, whose hacking by Moscow is the collusion narrative’s ne plus ultra. The Obama Justice Department and the FBI could have compelled production of the servers to conduct their own examination. Instead, they delegated to the private firm with deep Democratic ties, notwithstanding the latter’s motive to blame Russia and, derivatively, Trump’s campaign. No wonder Schiff did not want the testimony to see the light of day: Henry admitted — under oath, more than two years ago — that CrowdStrike has no solid evidence that Russian government-directed hackers stole the emails.
More brazen still were the admissions by official after official that they had no proof of any Trump campaign conspiracy with Russia. Publicly, former CIA Director John Brennan intimated that Trump was guilty of treason; former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper suggested he was a Putin asset; McCabe bragged of opening a criminal investigation against the president (for obstruction) after Comey’s firing. But in quiet hearing rooms, under oath, they had nothing. No evidence of conspiracy. The pundits knew that. Schiff and the Democrats who choreographed their testimony knew it. They went on for years, though, encouraging the public and foreign governments to believe the president of the United States could possibly be a Kremlin mole. So did Comey, in bracing public testimony in March 2017, by which time it was already patent that there was no case against Trump and his campaign.“

SHELDON WHITEHOUSE BECLOWNS HIMSELF
“Thus, as far as Whitehouse knows, Judge Wilkins is every bit as responsible for the allegedly “Trumpy” order as Judge Rao is. Yet, Whitehouse seized on the order to sling dirt at Rao.
Is it worth noting that Rao is an Asian-American? It wouldn’t be, except that if a Republican politician indulged in rank name-calling against a female judge from a minority group, he would be accused of racism and/or sexism.
Sheldon Whitehouse is a disgrace. He makes his Democratic Judiciary Committee colleagues — even the likes of Dick Durbin, Mazie Hirono, and Cory Booker — look measured by comparison.”

Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said Friday that he is calling for a criminal investigation of Twitter over allegations that the social media company is violating Iran sanctions. In a letter addressed to the Justice and Treasury departments, Cruz questioned whether the official Twitter accounts of Iranian leaders were in violation of law.
Under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), which allows the president to regulate international commerce, American companies are prohibited from providing goods or services to Iran’s leaders. President Donald Trump also signed an executive order in 2019 that sanctioned Iran’s highest-ranking officials."
Yet try and stick it to Trump?

Anybody watch that pathetic Trump press conference? He sure is acting like a loser. He didn't even attempt to address the crisis our country is going through right now. Certainly not a fireside chat, not even close.
Quote from FDR
"So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is...fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance."

Posted by: Mary Wanna | 29 May 2020 at 01:33 PM
It sure takes a Republican President to take this country into chaos. There have been 7 Republican Presidents Since and including Hoover. Here's how they ended their terms
Hoover-the Great Depression
Eisenhower-good stable country and economy
Nixon-Resigned in disgrace after Watergate
Reagan-Successful two terms although massive debt
Bush 1-Only lasted one term
Bush 2-Massive Debt, two ongoing wars and the Great Recession
Trump-massive economic collapse-worst unemployment since the depression'
So you see out of seven Presidencies the Repubs have only two Presidents you can remotely call successful, Eisenhower and Reagan.
So you can see the risk you take by voting a Republican for President.
