‘I think we need to step back and imagine what it would feel like to already live in that reality where calling the police may mean more harm is done’

Paul Emery

So Trump is quoted as saying:

"Hopefully George is looking down and saying this is a great thing that’s happening for our country. (It’s) a great day for him. It’s a great day for everybody. This is a great, great day in terms of equality.”

Can anyone tell me what the "great" thing is that Trump is referring to?

Sign of the times.

"On Friday, social media comprehensively litigated the question of what President Trump said in his press conference touting, among other things, an unexpectedly encouraging jobs report. It turned out that at least two reporters who had falsely claimed that Trump had said Floyd would be happy about the jobs numbers later reversed course because this isn’t what happened."

Paul, don't you have a business to loot or something?

Scott O

PE 4:44 - "Can anyone tell me what the "great" thing is that Trump is referring to?"
Maybe if you took the time to read the whole message, you would know.
But I doubt you will.

Don't worry about it Emery.. You can't understand it anyway.

Emery.. Can you tell us who bused in the astroturf protesters?

Scott O

scenes 4:56 - re the vid. What a bunch of ignorant fools. Churchill was one of the few that very early on wanted the world to stand up to Hitler. Hitler regarded blacks as worse than Jews - he thought they were animals.
These protests are a stupid farce.

Paul Emery

I know Trump is referring to some kind of evolution of conscious concerning equality or something like that but nothing has happenned so how can it be a great day. What was it Scott that you are referring to?

Don Bessee

Still struggling with the good ol' comprehension issues eh @505??

Don Bessee

Don't feel so bad @ 505 it looks like the littlest commie congresscritter has the same issue but it begs the question if you guys are having situational memory syndrome to not go off the approved narratives? LOL

Ocasio-Cortez quoted a tweet which was a line from the briefing where McEnany referred to her as “Biden adviser Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez” but did not include context.

“Wouldn’t be the first person to mistake a women of color for having a lower position or title than she does, but Kayleigh - in case you haven’t picked up a newspaper in two years, I’m a Congresswoman,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.

“The president is appalled by the ‘defund the police’ movement,” McEnany said in the full quote. “The fact that you have sitting congresswomen wanting to defund the police-- notably Rashida Tlaib, notably Biden adviser Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, former Clinton and Eric Holder spokesperson Brian Fallon wanting to defund our police across this country, it is extraordinary.”

“She literally called you Congresswoman, @AOC,” White House Director of Strategic Communications Alyssa Farah tweeted back.

Pssst. Don’t let the secret out. Just continue to let Punchy argue over a debunked story, lol. This is precious. If you want to hide something from Punchy, just post a link and watch him ignore it.
Loved this one earlier from Sandbox.

“the numbers [Trump’s Bad Polls] do not necessarily relate to to "riot reflections". Sorry they are so disturbing to you Bill.
Posted by: Paul Emery | 08 June 2020 at 01:58 PM

Hmmm. “the numbers do not necessarily relate to to “riot reflections.”

From “riot reflections” update:

Bad poll numbers again for Trump. “So reports one of our more prominent commenters who is now easily past his fourth year of a steady stream of announcements about Trump’s declining poll numbers that are always setting record lows, especially now during the pandemic. According to him the president never seems to recover. So how is it that after all these years of drastic losses of public confidence, Trump’s poll numbers haven’t zeroed out, but instead remain pretty much the same. Sounds like some kind of numerical magic to me. Perhaps he’ll explain it to us.”

Lol. Pssst. Our secret. The Pony Tale(s) of Ignorance is the gift that keeps on giving.

Back to arguing a debunked story. I would say someone explain it to the elderly gentleman, but doing so would ruin the fun. Carry on. What did Trump mean when he said.....lol.

Emery The Slow 5:05 - "I know Trump is referring to some kind of evolution of conscious concerning equality or something like that but nothing has happenned so how can it be a great day."
Well gee, Paul - remember back when the Dems ran the country and cops would murder blacks AND whites with impunity?
Like Daniel Shaver?
There's a video of the whole thing.
Look it up.
What black person in this great country protested that murder?
Surely you didn't think Obama would do a damn thing about it.
Now we have an inexcusable killing of a suspect by a white officer and he's fired immediately and charged.
Less blacks are being killed by police under Trump than Obama.
And Paul Emery just can't figure out why the situation is improving.

Don Bessee

I think he sums it up nicely, never let a crisis go unexploited -

Who you trying to protect Emery? How come you won't out the organizer of the bused in city brat?

Well now... How did this fine LIB get his name in the news?

Lefty on Lefty crime.

What kind of mayor would ask the police to abandon their precinct cop shop? Well, no use trying to get on their good side...if they have a good side.

“But let’s ask a different question: do Americans want political leaders who are, by personality, submissive? Who kneel to people who hate them, and adopt those haters’ symbols? Whose first impulse is to apologize, prostrate themselves and wash someone else’s feet?

I doubt it. Submissive people generally don’t get far in politics. The closest analogy I can think of is Jimmy Carter, whose demeanor generally was sometimes apologetic, but who didn’t begin to approach the pathological level of submissiveness that we see from Democratic Party leaders today. Yet he was destroyed by the entirely non-submissive, non-apologetic Ronald Reagan.

Through human history, people have never chosen to be led by the ashamed, the inadequate, the inferior. If that is the posture the Democratic Party wants to assume, welcome to it. Americans will vote for the strong, the confident, the forward-looking, the unabashed. Come to think of it, that sounds a lot like Donald Trump.”

Thank you George for your viewpoint. It’s pretty obvious to some (if you’re aware of tactics and history) that the latest tactics to change America are what’s going on.

Bill Tozer

I believe I will put this here. Hey, remember when everybody thought they would just grow out of it? We were wrong. Not to be.

A President Biden will be a perfect stand-in for a meek liberal college president who can’t afford to get on the wrong side of a Left that knows it won’t be disciplined and is only too happy to silence others. Biden is the face of the Democratic Party, but far from the fact of it.

Once the Times goes, the media go. And without media backup, a Democratic president has nothing. The Democrats’ center has collapsed, leaving Biden little choice but to play to his illiberal left. If Biden wins, the Left is in charge. And they aren’t just straining to abolish the police. Their real target is 1776.

In other words, the real target is American liberty, and Joe Biden cannot be expected to defend it.“

IT BEGINS: Rioters Burned Down Minneapolis Manufacturer. Now They’re Relocating, Taking Jobs With Them

While not because of looters per se, we here have seen many many articles on businesses leaving CA by the hundreds and people getting out of Dodge by the thousands...all pooh-poohed by our Leftinista friends....the friends who hate us. Add an anti-business climate, revolving door for repeat offenders, and de facto sanctuary policies for criminals, well, happiness is Democrat run city in the rear view mirror.

“They don’t care about my business,” Kris Wyrobek, president and owner of 7-Sigma Inc., told the Star Tribune. “They didn’t protect our people. We were all on our own.”

If you are going to be on your own, best to move to a safer area.

“President Barack Obama started stacking the dominoes with his view of an irretrievably flawed America that needed to be fundamentally transformed into a socialist democracy that would function under a revised, reinterpreted, or totally rewritten constitution. Today we are witness to the other dominoes all waiting in a row” – Dr. Rebane
With all the cross current themes going on with the protests, riots, the aftermath of the looting and burning, BLM, Far Left goals and tactics (coupled with Scenes‘s 7:51 am post), I will put this here.

“It Must Be Horrible Thinking Everyone Is Racist”

I was turned down for a lease on a new apartment Sunday, and it was no secret why.

“The idea that America is saturated with 63 million white supremacists is now no longer an idea from a fringe left-wing movement but has now infected the psyche of the broader society convinced by liberal academics and legacy media that the U.S. is an irredeemably racist empire built for the sole purpose of oppressing black people.

The insidious projection that Americans are racist by default with catchy slogans such as “silence is violence,” which is really just code for holding one’s morality hostage to extract submission, must be draining on the individuals who employ them.“

The cry of “I don’t feel safe” by so many on the Left is a sentiment which I have no answer for. Stating facts and stats is a waste of time. Guess I will stick with my ole “can’t argue with feelings” response and turn away. There is not enough words in the English language to convince someone that the boogie man is not under your bed. Lifting up the covers and shining a flashlight under the bed to prove no boogie man is lying down there is also a waste of time...just cause you don’t see him, doesn’t mean he is not there!

“My safe place does not ‘feel’ safe and may NEVER feel safe again,” was the common retrain on college campuses after a conservative speaker appeared. Not enough puppies and crayolas in the world to make them feel safe again.

2016? Was that about the time BLM was marching in the streets chanting, “What do we want? More dead cops! When to we want it? Now!’ ‘Pigs in a blanket, Fry them like bacon.’ Then, invited to the WH to meet with the President, of course.

Don’t think a beer summit will make everyone happy.

Before Obama, there was no BLM and no Antifa,
