[Given this week’s SCOTUS ruling on Indian lands in Oklahoma (here and here), the future of all 19th century abrogated treaties with our indigenous Americans will come up for review. Election update:
No significant movement towards Trump at this time. At this point I'm focusing on delegate counts and 270towin is my roadmap, In this consensus delegate count they show that Trump needs to win all tossup votes and flip one that leans Biden to win. This of course can change. For your reading pleasure I'll give you a daily update on this map. If you click on "pundit forecast" you can see the same map as applied to other analysts interpretations. All in all it's a great tool for tracking the election.

Rasmussen has Trump at 49/49.
Posted by: Gregory | 24 July 2020 at 11:07 AM
"Rasmussen has Trump at 49/49"
Exactly the same as Obama's approval rating in 2012. Funny thing. This assume a person (or newsman) stuck with the same poll rather than cherry picking.
...and three years ago Trump was at 41% approve, 59% disapprove.
What exactly was the point of Paul's posts all this time? If you simply added up his ever-so-informative posts, we'd see Trump at a -120% approval rating.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/washington-secrets/comeback-trump-neck-and-neck-with-biden-45-47-approval-equal-with-obamas

Posted by: scenes | 24 July 2020 at 11:48 AM
I am only seriously looking at electoral votes at this stage Gregory. By the way Rasmussen is way off the RCP average for job approval, which has him down by 13.9 (average of around 10 polls). Why do you think that is?
Have you looked at the vote count on the 270towin utility? If you're interested in the election that's the place to go as time goes on. For your convenience here it is again? You can add your own slant and see how it changes the vote count.

BTW... I found it interesting that 270towin states that it uses the 2016 results to fill in states that haven't had a poll, but they don't list for what states they use the 2016 results. Why do you think that is?
I think you've moved away from the rcp version of the same thing because rcp isn't giving you what you want... Biden winning.
FYI... 270towin blew it badly in 2016.

We need to prepare for a total meltdown for Emery when Trump trounces Biden. If one takes the time to check the underlying breakdowns of the polls, even FOX, they all seem to undercount by ten percent the R's. When that is added back in Trump wins big.

How wrong you are. RCP consensus polling shows Biden winning by 8.7 om the Biden-Trump election average poll and has Biden leading by 13.8 on the job approval average poll. It is only Rasmussen that has Trump even close. Rasmussen is very mercurial and can shift 10 points in a week. What were you thinking when you said this?

No I didn't Gregory. They show 222 for Biden and 115 for Trump based on the model created by 270towin that RCP has adopted . That's a 2-1 lead based on their average polling. Do you think that's a good sign for Trump? That means that Trump has to win 156 0f the 201 toss ups. That's the task at hand.
Glad you discovered the 270towin model.

Paul Emery sez:
“Here's the grim reality for the Trumpsters according to RCP.
Hillary has 256 solid delegates
Trump has 170
There are 112 toss-ups available
Hillary has only to win 15 to be over the 270 top
Trump has to win 101 0f the toss up delegates.
nuff said on that matter.”

My flag isn't hung on Trump or the GOP, but I'll be damned if the lies you tell will go unanswered.
Conrad Black wrote these lines in the last day or so. I think they tell the story fairly succinctly:
"The presidential election result is now down to five questions.
Can the president override the Democratic media’s thunderous campaign to terrorize the country over the coronavirus?
Can the president successfully connect Joe Biden’s campaign to the hooligans, anti-white racists, and urban guerrillas who effectively are being encouraged by the corrupt Democratic mayors of many of the nation’s largest cities?
Will the economic recovery and the decline in the unemployment generated by the COVID-19 shutdown continue at its recent pace and strengthen the economy as a pro-Trump electoral argument?
Will the Republicans make adequately clear to the country the authoritarian and Marxist implications of the Biden-Sanders unity document?
Will special counsel John Durham indict senior members of the Obama Administration over their handling of the spurious allegation of collusion between Donald Trump and the Russian government in the 2016 election and Justice Department violations of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), and how will Biden himself come through it?"

Fresh meat:
"The mysterious “Primary Subsource” that Christopher Steele has long hidden behind to defend his discredited Trump-Russia dossier is a former Brookings Institution analyst -- Igor “Iggy” Danchenko, a Russian national whose past includes criminal convictions and other personal baggage ignored by the FBI in vetting him and the information he fed to Steele, according to congressional sources and records obtained by RealClearInvestigations. Agents continued to use the dossier as grounds to investigate President Trump and put his advisers under counter-espionage surveillance.
The 42-year-old Danchenko, who was hired by Steele in 2016 to deploy a network of sources to dig up dirt on Trump and Russia for the Hillary Clinton campaign, was arrested, jailed and convicted years earlier on multiple public drunkenness and disorderly conduct charges in the Washington area and ordered to undergo substance-abuse and mental-health counseling, according to criminal records."

So Steve admits under the cruel, incompetent rein of Trump, our death rate is actually better than those 'highly advanced' ones with socialized medicine.
As far as the numbers of cases we have - that's not Trump's fault. We have a free society and we are a republic. The feds should only be in charge of controlling the borders to those who might bring in disease and you leftys don't want that, so you can't point any fingers at Trump. The states and local authorities have plenty of control although their idiot and capricious rule enforcement (churches bad, riots good) are a joke. We have a rising case load because folks have decided on their own to freely mingle in close contact with others at various 'gatherings'. Trump's fault? Of course, because he didn't send in the 'jack-booted' thugs to start mass arrests.

But ,as GT has discovered, there are other things on Hillary’s servers worth mentioning. Governor Cuomo’s Nursing Home plan for one, along with Mayor De Blasio’s crime prevention program involving the details of how to decrease crime by defunding police and emptying prisons."

"So Steve admits under the cruel, incompetent rein of Trump, our death rate is actually better than those 'highly advanced' ones with socialized medicine."
-Scott O 247pm
Yes, if we put all the state's rates in a blender, we've a death rate that's half that of Belgium, the center of the European Union. But if we look at the 50 states, about half are about 200 per million or less. And here from Newsweek is a fresh look at what we should do about CoV:
https://www.newsweek.com/key-defeating-covid-19-already-exists-we-need-start-using-it-opinion-1519535
Data is in... low dose HCQ/Az/Zn does work... but it needs to be started before the patient is half-dead and intubated... and preferably at first symptoms. How many of those 175,000 dead Frisch sheds crocodile tears for died as a result of the deprecating of HCQ/Az/Zn by Trump haters like Frisch?
And, here's a piece by Jonanthan Turley:
https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/509002-more-willful-blindness-by-the-media-on-spying-by-obama-administration
I'll save up those corn kernels for serving to Frisch at an opportune time.

I know you know better and you are just using them as tools of your

from the Turley piece
"The Washington press corps seems engaged in a collective demonstration of the legal concept of willful blindness, or deliberately ignoring facts, following the release of yet another declassified document that directly refutes past statements about the Russia collusion investigation. The document shows the FBI used a security briefing of then candidate Donald Trump and top aides to gather possible evidence for Crossfire Hurricane, its code name for the Russia investigation.
What is astonishing is that the media has refused to see what should be one of the biggest stories in decades. The Obama administration targeted the campaign of the opposing party based on false evidence. The media endlessly covered former Obama administration officials ridiculing suggestions of spying on the Trump campaign or of improper conduct in the Russia investigation. When Attorney
General William Barr told the Senate last year that he believed spying did occur, he was lambasted in the media, including by James Comey and others involved in that investigation. The mocking “wow” response of the fired FBI director received extensive coverage."
I think the willfully blind, including Frisch, are ignoring the biggest corruption story in the history of the Republic. Because of Obama love and Trump hate.

Speaking of Commies,, has Stevie been checking in with his Chicom handlers? His sales pitch of going ECO ain't been working so hot. U.S. GOV grants are not a big priority in the ECO dept. Ya' better talk to them about all those coal fired power plants they are building. (Maybe they haven't learned how to breath yet)
Posted by: Walt | 26 July 2020 at 09:46 AM
Speaking of "commies", Frisch's implicit blaming of Trump for "175.000" American deaths ignores completely the CCP's role in supressing alarm about SARS-CoV-2 in December and January. Perhaps even going back to October.

"Frisch's implicit blaming of Trump for "175.000" American deaths "
That's an odd thing, especially considering the real lack of power a President has in national health policy, aside from perhaps writing some checks. My take is that no one knows what they are doing and that humanity will blunder through as usual.
I was always underwhelmed with Obama as a President. Typical need to bomb other countries, co-opted by the 17 intelligence agencies in terms of surveillance tech, payoffs to his friends (which I'm not one of, so it sucks). I don't hate the idea of insurance companies selling standardized products to anyone who walks in the door as it's a business which tends towards abuse of customers, the amount of .gov subsidy can be argued over. Birth certificategate was always kind of silly even if the man was born in Kenya, a year or two younger and it would have been no issue (law change) and the whole deal certainly wasn't worth the fuss.
But...I never felt the need to make up crimes for 3.5 straight years, bug the opposition party, burn down buildings, blind cops with lasers, wildly accuse the President of things I couldn't prove, 50 etcs., all with the tacit approval of opposition political figures and MSM. The overreaction is obvious to any unbiased observer.
I'm on the fence whether it's all about Trump, or simply Frisch and Friends doing something that they were going to do anyway. The huge amount of projection that is going on shows some weirdly strong illness of the soul. At least he (so far) has stayed away from the things I'm seeing on local social media...evidently anti-BLM folks need a 'bullet to the back of the head'. Exciting times.

Gregory: "I think the willfully blind, including Frisch, are ignoring the biggest corruption story in the history of the Republic. Because of Obama love and Trump hate."
Just imagine how quickly the story will get buried with a Biden victory. There are things faster than the speed of light. Ends justify the means and all that.
It's gotta be tough for Libertarians. To some extent, everyone has to choose a side when things get sketchy. The Republicans are somewhat greedy and tends towards stupid. The Democrats want to remake the country via mob opinion and destroy it in the meantime.

The blinding of three officers with Green lasers was particularly heinous.
I recall reading an article (perhaps 45 years ago, perhaps in Aviation Leak and Space Technology) of a non-lethal 'defensive' weapon that would shine a green laser at aircraft or gun emplacments to blind the folks targeting weapons, but it was killed because of the Geneva Convention.
Green lasers are particilarly effective at erasing eyesight.
The rioters using them against law enforcement should rot in prison.

"The rioters using them against law enforcement should rot in prison."
It won't happen until things get considerably friskier.
AntifaBLM has a pretty good strategy. Push on the Feds in a few choke points until they respond, catch it on one of 1000 cameras, send it to CNN.
In Portland, you stick a bunch of fake 'moms' out front with yellow shirts and the occasional 'veteran' (or veteran). Rear rank throws seriously sized explosive charges and shoot lasers. Occasionally there's a rush for the fence so you can start fires, tear down barriers, break glass, light fires. Wash, rinse, repeat until a handful of cops (ie. SteveF's 'Nazi Stormtroopers') rush out...retreat behind moms and cameras.
This will continue until someone cauldrons off the street and arrests everyone. Like I mentioned earlier, you just know that there are Stingrays and high-res cameras all over the place, so the cases should be fairly easy to sort and process. Most people go home with a misdemeanor, 10% get a serious federal charge. I expect that Biden would pardon the whole lot since they got him in office, but you do what you can.
Posted by: scenes | 26 July 2020 at 12:01 PM
Friskier or not, in my opinion ANYONE operating a green laser in a riot situation is fair game for being SHOT under current law, as much as if they were trying to gouge out the eyes of their foes from a distance.

Thanks for noticing, but in my experience, it's Democrats who tend towards stupid. For one thing, the vaunted statistic for a baccalaureate ignores the quality of the 4 year degree, which tends towards the imbecilic education and social justice warrior credentials among Dems.
I'm somewhat less than perfectly happy arguning as the Devil's Advocate for GOP matters in California while casting votes for LIB candidtes otherwise, if there is a LIB candidate. Choosing the lesser of two evils when no LIB is on the ballot. For example, LaMalfa v. the execrable Audrey Denney.

On fire this morning, Gregory. Sorry I wasn't around to cheer you on earlier. Bravo!
Face it, in all honesty, the AntifaBLM orcs should be shot on sight as they surely would have been almost anywhere in the world seventy years ago. Our 'greatest generation' birthed a corrupt generation of entitled 'boomers' who, it turn, spawned a generation that is creating and will get to watch the end of civilization. The anarchist mind has NOTHING to contribute.
Steve is the classic example- he thinks by ignoring barbarism, the barbarians will spare him. Wrong, he gets eaten first because he agree that he deserves it. Is that about it Frisch?
The rest of us will shoot back when the Jacobins come knocking, an event I expect to occur shortly after Nov. 3.
