Mark Levin

“It is important to know that many of the early progressive intellectuals were supportive of the 1917 communist revolution in Russia, and were even initially sympathetic with the ruthless mass murderer Stalin. And that not only includes the likes of John Dewey but the New York Times, which repeatedly used its news pages to regurgitate the propaganda fed to its Moscow correspondent, Walter Duranty, who was on Stalin's payroll. This is the same New York Times that is pushing poisonous lies about America's founding into our public schools to brainwash future generations.” Mark Levin

So remind us how many unamend black people did the cops shoot last year? The neighborhoods of color are are also fed up with the lily white anarchists burning their businesses! -

President Trump reacted to shootings in two big cities in a tweet Sunday evening. “Chicago and New York City crime numbers are way up. 67 people shot in Chicago, 13 killed. Shootings up significantly in NYC where people are demanding that @NYGovCuomo & @NYCMayor act now. Federal Government ready, willing and able to help.

re: Division is caused by Trump’s speeches is now the steady narrative from the national propaganda outlets.

TRUMP AT MOUNT RUSHMORE (WSJ EDITION)

“Divisive? Mr. Trump’s speech was certainly direct, in his typical style. But it was only divisive if you haven’t been paying attention to the divisions now being stoked on the political left across American institutions. Mr. Trump had the temerity to point out that the last few weeks have seen an explosion of “cancel culture—driving people from their jobs, shaming dissenters, and demanding total submission from anyone who disagrees.”

Describing this statement of fact as “divisive” proves his point. Newspaper editors are being fired over headlines and op-eds after millennial staff revolts. Boeing CEO David Calhoun last week welcomed the resignation of a communications executive for opposing—33 years ago when he was in the military—women in combat. The Washington Post ran an op-ed this weekend urging that the name of America’s first President be struck from Washington and Lee University.

Any one of these events would be remarkable, but together with literally thousands of others around the country they represent precisely what Mr. Trump describes—a left-wing cultural revolution against traditional American values of free speech and political tolerance. And he called for Americans not to cower but to oppose this assault…”

Gathering For Justice works directly with The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, the youth divisions of Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the NAACP, and the Congress on Racial Equality, all organizations adopting principles of non-violence.

Here are the principles:
_________________________________

THESE SIX PRINCIPLES WERE OUTLINED BY DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. IN HIS FAMOUS ESSAY, “A PILGRIMAGE TO NONVIOLENCE.” THEY SERVE AS THE FOUNDATION OF THE TEACHINGS OF KINGIAN NONVIOLENCE CONFLICT RECONCILIATION AND ARE OFTEN REFERRED TO AS THE “WILL” OF NONVIOLENCE.PRINCIPLE 1: NONVIOLENCE IS A WAY OF LIFE FOR COURAGEOUS PEOPLE.
It is a positive force confronting the forces of injustice and utilizes the righteous indignation and spiritual, emotional, and intellectual capabilities of people as the vital force for change and reconciliation.

PRINCIPLE 2: THE BELOVED COMMUNITY IS THE FRAMEWORK FOR THE FUTURE.
The nonviolent concept is an overall effort to achieve a reconciled world by raising the level of relationships among people to a height where justice prevails and persons attain their full human potential.

PRINCIPLE 3: ATTACK FORCES OF EVIL NOT PERSONS DOING EVIL.
The nonviolent approach helps one analyze the fundamental conditions, policies and practices of the conflict rather than reacting to one’s opponents or their personalities.

PRINCIPLE 4: ACCEPT SUFFERING WITHOUT RETALIATION FOR THE SAKE OF THE CAUSE TO ACHIEVE A GOAL.
Self-chosen suffering is redemptive and helps the movement grow in a spiritual as well as a humanitarian dimension. The moral authority of voluntary suffering for a goal communicates the concern to one’s own friends and community as well as to the opponent.

PRINCIPLE 5: AVOID INTERNAL VIOLENCE OF THE SPIRIT AS WELL AS EXTERNAL PHYSICAL VIOLENCE.
The nonviolent attitude permeates all aspects of the campaign. It provides a mirror type reflection of the reality of the condition to one’s opponent and the community at large. Specific activities must be designed to maintain a high level of spirit and morale during a nonviolent campaign.

PRINCIPLE 6: THE UNIVERSE IS ON THE SIDE OF JUSTICE.
Truth is universal and human society and each human being is oriented to the just sense of order of the universe. The fundamental values in all of the world’s great idealogies include the concept that the moral arc of the universe is long but it bends towards justice. For the nonviolent practitioner, nonviolence introduces a new moral context in which nonviolence is both the means and the ends.

JHK speaks:

"Way back in the 1950s, the popular euphemism to describe black children struggling in poverty was “underprivileged.” The elegant trope guided the nascent social services industry that reached full flower a few years later in Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty — a cause as lost, it turns out, as the War in Vietnam. The wonder is that it took seventy years for the race-and-gender faculty to come up with the corollary notion that white folks must be excessively privileged, and must be punished for their broken promise to bestow more privilege upon those lacking it."

Isn't 'Gathering for Justice' the Farrakhan acolytes? Like most non-profits, I expect it's been mostly set up for the care and feeding of it's employees, particularly the boss.

This should be an amazing year for non-profit organizations, at least the right kind. Beaucoup money flowing in to prove either SJW bonafides or simply as an attempt to keep your store from being burnt down.

Maybe we're simply seeing a new wave of economic substrate. The agriculture economy begat the industrial begat the 'information' (ie. mostly people typing on keyboards doing unimportant things) begat the extortion economy. This last could give you a social score based on multiplying the funds donated by the 'wokeness' level of the donee.

George Rebane

SteveF 808am - I'm afraid that my thoughts on 'Invest in Black America' were again a bit too complex for you. I am attempting to manage expectations for those who consider more investment in the same 'black communities' in which their culture for sustaining local businesses and entrepreneurs has not changed, and if anything, the lawlessness has gotten worse.

This may come as news to the progressive mind, but one of the many beneficial features of competitive capitalism, open markets, enterprise, and lawful behavior is that when something is tried more than once and it still doesn't work, then some changes are sought before the next attempt is made. Socialists expressing more intense woke sentiments is not a sufficient change to warrant different expectations from investing in Black America. Or more concisely, recall (or look up) Einstein's definition of insanity.

Back then, it was about uplifting the downtrodden and having compassion. Well, the downtrodden refused to be uplifted, so today the attempt is to achieve equality by destroying everything and everyone successful to the scum at the bottom can feel good about themselves.

Good thinking there, Steve.

Perhaps Steve is unaware that in 2020, MLK is out of favor with SJWs. He is next to be toppled. A recent comment in the Union to an opinion piece by a very Blue People said it all for me. To paraphrase, “Good, well written piece. It is well past time we move beyond a color-blind society and leave that in the dustbin of history.” Also recently, a college professor was given the boot for reading MLK’s Letters From Jail to his class. Guess it made our future leaders uncomfortable. The old saying that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. The new saying might go something like ithe most easily offended gets....everything they demand.

Daily Quotes go here today

Insight: “It was leadership here at home that gave us strong American influence abroad, and the collapse of imperial Communism. Great nations have responsibilities to lead, and we should always be cautious of those who would lower our profile, because they might just wind up lowering our flag.” —Ronald Reagan

For the record: “The highest praise for Marxism comes from those who have never lived under it. History shows that academics and the press in free countries (as opposed to those in the Marxist countries themselves) continue to praise and tout Marxist regimes, even when they are aware of their brutality. True of The New York Times in the 1930s. True of the New York Times today.” —Laura Hollis

Picking up where Obama left off: “We’re going to beat Donald Trump. And when we do, we won’t just rebuild this nation — we’ll transform it.” —Joe Biden

Race bait: “Black ppl have been dehumanized, brutalized, criminalized + terrorized by America for centuries, & are expected to join your commemoration of ‘independence’, while you enslaved our ancestors. We reject your celebration of white supremacy & look forward to liberation for all.” —Colin Kaepernick

Grand delusions: “Overwhelmingly, most people I hear from are black or mixed or non-white in some way, and a lot of people have said, ‘This is your moment. You’re vindicated.’ I have received hundreds of messages. Most of it’s been overwhelmingly positive.” —faux African American Rachel Dolezal

Braying jackass: “I think we should listen to everybody. I think we should listen to the argument [for purging George Washington monuments], but remember that the president at Mount Rushmore was standing on ground that was stolen from Native Americans who had actually been given that land during a treaty.” —Senator Tammy Duckworth

Dezinformatsiya: “Trump choosing Mount Rushmore for a Fourth of July campaign stop is like when he chose Tulsa, the site of the 1921 massacre against black Americans, for his Juneteenth weekend rally. It’s that cold, tired, and familiar jab to black, brown, and indigenous people that makes the shrinking MAGA voter feel as big as a 60-foot face of a colonizing slave owner.” —MSNBC’s Tiffany Cross

And last… “Because I don’t think of myself as a victim, I’ve been asked, ‘How many times have you been called a "n-word”?’ Rarely am I asked, ‘How many times have you been called an “Uncle Tom”/“coon”/“sellout”?’ — even though I’ve long since lost count.“ —Larry Elder

I thought I was referring to the inherit dishonesty of most non-profits, although you see plenty of cults these days. "Their evil has spread to every city. Two or three years ago it was just another snake cult, now... they're everywhere." The Conan movie had it right.

Although Christianity provided a lot of glue in the production of Western Civilization, a thing apparently nearer it's end than it's start, I'm still a little miffed about the Christians' behavior in the early days. Burners of buildings, topplers of statues, requirements of loyalty oaths to a monotheistic religion. We might have been on Mars a thousand years ago without that storm through the Empire. History does appear to rhyme in the sense that there's always someone willing to tear down the work of ages.

Honestly, I think you're missing a bet here. I think there's more money to be made with a Sierra Business Cancel at this point.

Well, you know that things have hit a pretty pass when a US Senator is pushing for tearing down Mount Rushmore. There's no possibility for reconciliation at that point.

Never heard of her. Looked her up. Ran into Washington Post headline:
"Duckworth emerging as a contender to be Biden’s running mate"

so you can expect anti-Americanism at this point from her piehole. It's a shame she can be President even though born in Thailand (for a good reason, US citizen father), since what a brilliant move it would be to have a non-eligible VP when Joey Fingers inevitably steps down.

Another world view -

A South African cardinal has denounced the hijacking of Black Lives Matter (BLM), which is now “committed to dismantling the very values, structure and institutions” central to a healthy society.

Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier, the archbishop of Durban, South Africa, tweeted this weekend that a brief study of the founding statement of Black Lives Matter “indicates the movement is being hijacked by the interests and parties committed to dismantling the very values, structure and institutions which have over the centuries undergird the best civilisations and cultures!”

In his critique, Napier has joined a growing group of Christian and black leaders who have denounced BLM for its renunciation of the nuclear family and total embrace of the LGBT agenda, including the banishment of “heteronormativity” and the espousal of “queer culture.”

In his assessment of BLM’s problems, the cardinal also touched on a key point for all those truly concerned with the value of black lives, namely, the abortion industry and its disproportionate attack on black lives.

“Another crucial test of the authenticity of the Black Lives Matter movement will be its stance vis a vis Planned Parenthood and the Abortion Industry!” the cardinal noted in a separate tweet Monday.

I cannot find the thread of Scenes and I discussing and comparing Year Zero with other periods of history since 1791. Thus, I will post this here. The 20th Century provides many comparisons, and here is another one.

DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN?

“In my podcast with Fred Siegel a few weeks back about the rioting and deterioration of situation of New York and other American cities, Fred remarked that the real cause of our current trouble is that “the sixties never ended.” And a lot of people have been saying that 2020 reminds them of 1968—the year when everything went wrong and the country seemed to be on the brink of coming apart.”.....

[Daniel Moynihan] “The elite intelligentsia of the country are turning against the country—in science, in politics, in the fundaments of patriotism. How can we not pay for this?

Are we then witnessing the ultimate, destructive working out of the telos of liberal thought?”

Short answer to this last question: Yes.

It may not be a pure coincidence that in many respects, Moynihan could be said to have been the first liberal “canceled” by the left in the 1960s (over his report on the black family), thus providing the template for today’s mass cancellations.

Let it all hang out.

Why not just call it pravda? -

Other economic proposals in the manifesto include a plan for banks to pay reparations: “First, [banks] must apologize for their culpability for and complicity in structural racism. Next, they must commit to serving black people as they do whites.” Four additional steps are proposed: “Cancel consumer debt for black customers”; “Eliminate banking fees for black customers”; “Provide interest-free mortgages to black home buyers”; “Provide interest-free loans to black-owned businesses.”

The manifesto also calls for a 28th Amendment to the Constitution to enshrine something called “voter equality,” which appears to mean a guarantee of high turnout among poorer voters. The amendment would grant “all adult citizens the right to vote in federal elections,” with no exceptions.

Another heartfelt essay calls on wealthy Americans to “give up your privilege.”

Prior to the coronavirus the U.S. economy was experiencing what President Donald Trump called a “blue-collar boom.” Minority unemployment was at the lowest levels in history. Wages for the lowest-paid workers were rising faster than wages for the highest earners. Inequality was in retreat, as economic growth created new opportunities, and the enforcement of immigration laws gave working-class Americans a chance to compete.

Scott O

Don B 4:19 - (again) Wow! That essay on the wealthy giving up their privilege was a real barn-burner!
Mostly it was really just a bunch of BS about wealth transfer from the producers to the non-producers.
Really liked the part about how the corps should stop worrying about the folks that invest their moolah in their companies. Cause those folks will still invest no matter what - you betcha! Even if the investors get no dividend and the stocks sink, why I'm sure folks will still pour in the money 'cause they pay out huge salaries to the folks sweeping up the warehouse. And the retirement systems that are counting on a 7% return will still pour in the dough because - gee, why not?
You know - the funny thing is the wealthy guy that authored this piece just sorta, kinda forgot to mention what he was giving up.
Oh well, I'll bet he just plum forgot.

It is to be expected Scenes that some people see the value in the nonprofit organizations that they may chose to be associated with, such as their church, Music in the Mountains, Tech Test, a Chamber of Commerce, or perhaps the Harvey Mudd College alumni association, the NRA, etc. but not the nonprofit organizations others may be associated with. I would argues that that is the beauty of our country, we value nonprofit associations for their contributions to education, health care and public health, research, the arts, the environment, even civil rights, without discrimination, as long as they follow the rules.

A nonprofit organization is, in essence, an organization that is prohibited from distributing net earnings to individuals, such as officers, directors, or members, who exercise control over the organization. They are not prohibited from paying staff who provide a professional service. So of course your minister if you have one gets paid, the Executive Director of Music in the Mountains gets paid, and apparently even Wayne Robert LaPierre, Jr. gets paid.

In the case of an incorporated nonprofit this non-distribution constraint is imposed by the state nonprofit corporation law. under which the organization is formed. A nonprofit organization is not, it should be noted, prohibited from earning a profit, in fact, many nonprofits, including churches and the NRA (until recently)I might note, show substantial annual net earnings. All net earnings, however, must be plowed back into financing the organizations mission.

"I am attempting to manage expectations for those who consider more investment in the same 'black communities' in which their culture for sustaining local businesses and entrepreneurs has not changed, and if anything, the lawlessness has gotten worse."

The amazing thing George is that it is often the very communities that you characterize as "black holes (double entendre intended)" where opportunities for entrepreneurship are the highest. Due to historic capital under investment in these communities there is a higher potential for growth of markets. Due to lower home ownership rates and lower real estate values there is more opportunity to build capital by increasing ownership and leveraging that capital for future investment. Due to lower wages, there is more opportunity to capture the benefit of rising wages in new ventures. In short, there is more market growth potential here, thus more rationale for investment not less.

What Trump, and by extension your embrace of him, has managed to do is excite the opposition from people of color, women, younger votes, and anyone who wants to survive a pandemic that is still, as I professed a few months ago here, on track to kill literally hundreds of thousands of Americans.

The very thing Trump needed and supported voter suppression to do, keep his opponents at home and not voting, has been offset by his racism.

One of the things I value about our system is that, flawed and painfully slow as it may be times, the American system is designed to be a competition of ideas...our systems of governance are designed to slow things down a bit to allow for vigorous debate between competing political philosophies. I actually miss sensible, principled intellectual conservatism. The debate made the eventual policy outcome better.

But now by being in bed with Trump, the weight of the world is going to come down on your aged heads and a new counter balance is going to have to rise to restore the balance. I have faith that it will...and we will get back to a balance of competing ideas...but the new mean is going to much less to your liking.

Just quit when you're behind. It was a threat....your whole post was a threat...just own it! I said I was happy that you fessed up.

Importing the third world into an environment of slowing employment and reduced tax revenues is a huge own goal.....but you've embraced it for political ends....lets just see how well your new "Americanism" plays out.

What could possibly go wrong?

Frisch's staff work in a Pink Collar ghetto... 87% female... how do you get that lopsided?

One hiring choice at a time.

Oh, and Steve... your lone POC looks to be the only person on your staff actually qualified for the position they're filling, given your propensity to have English Lit majors doing jobs involving Energy. MBA Finance for a financial job? Outstanding! But now you need an Obligatory Second to prove she isn't a token.

SteveF 656am - Then I'm totally flabbergasted by why the greedy capitalists are giving up all those great investment opportunities in black communities and businesses. And why the black well-to-do contingent isn't pouring their own monies into those investments? And why it's only the governments using OPM, who structure such abysmal investments and continue to fund them with our (taxpayer) earnings? You can no doubt enlighten us on the reason for all those lost opportunities.

BTW, why is it only that black business folk who participate in open-market capitalistic enterprises that do well as they avoid race-based enterprises?

re: Mt Rushmore

MOUNT RUSHMORE THEN AND NOW

MOUNT RUSHMORE THEN AND NOW
The Washington Free Beacon has put together the SUPERcuts video below illustrating the Orwellian revision of Mount Rushmore. Past statements pretending to admiration are going down the memory hole. Oh, Big Brother Sibster.

And don’t forget: IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. If we didn’t understand before, we should be getting a handle on the importance of this axiom right about now now.

Perhaps what we have here is progress of a kind. At this point the Democrats and their media adjunct don’t even pretend to love of country.

Citoyen Frisch @ 6:36- 7:27- That's quite a rant for a guy still in his footed jammies. As with Keach and the Emery of the people, breakfast around your place must be lots of fun. As Toes would say, something about vultures and headboards.

And of course, you understand why I carefully limited by subhuman assessment to the current crop of Marxist degenerates- the earlier generation of civil rights activists had both justice and common sense on their side, which is why they were successful.

Folks who marched chanting about killing cops were cover for 5 Dallas officers being ambush murdered while protecting their right to march. That and three more Baton Rouge officers killed almost simultaneously brought no words of remorse from the BLM assholes and served notice exactly who the were/are: domestic terrorists.

L

But suggest they should stop killing their own before marching is liable to land you in a hospital, as is suggesting that, perhaps, other lives also matter.

As for Antifa, they perfectly illustrate Alinsky's dictum to accuse your opponent of exactly what you're doing; the so-called Antifascists take their tactics directly from Hitler's brownshirts. They might want to remember what became of that earlier crop of subhumans. These are the real nazis of today, roaming the streets and randomly beating people who look as if they might disagree with their agenda of looting, arson and murder.

A guy firing into a passing SUV is a subhuman, the guy cold-cocking pedestrians in a mall just to see if he can knock them out with on blow is a subhuman. The punk torching a black-owned business with a molotov cocktail is a subhuman.

These are bipedal apes, beings not yet fully human. If people like you prevail, they never will be.

CNN's Lemon lectures Terry Crews over Black Lives Matter agenda, suggests not about equality of black lives"... that's not what Black Lives Matter is about'

"And even though Crews affirmed Black Lives Matter as a "great mantra," a "true mantra," Lemon took serious issue with Crews' suggestion that leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement could initiate a "move from one oppressor to the next," citing rampant gun violence in black communities that has lead to the deaths of numerous black children in recent weeks.

"What does that have to do with equality, though, Terry? I don't understand what that has to do with equality," Lemon told Crews.

After again claiming he does not understand what black-on-black crime has to do with black lives having importance, Lemon lectured Crews and told him he needs tougher skin. "I have skin as tough as an armadillo because of what I do. I think maybe you should adapt that," Lemon said.

The CNN host then went on to tell Crews that, if he wants to talk about black-on-black crime, he should start his own organization because the Black Lives Matter movement is not interested in any such conversation."

re: America’s dumbeth......Purity of Thought.

A NEW LOW IN HIGHER EDUCATION?

“Some Marquette administrators also asked Pfefferle a series of questions meant to judge her morals, she said.

“They also asked me hypothetical questions regarding Dreamers,” she said. “How would I respond if a Dreamer who lived down the hall from me came up to me and told me she didn’t feel safe or comfortable with my views and me being on campus. They also asked me if they thought there was anything I could do to improve my image on campus”

“They also asked me if they thought there was anything I could do to improve my image on campus”

Well, she could through herself on the ground and apologize and grovel in the mud, plead for forgiveness and recant all her beliefs, give every minority on campus ten bucks, and repudiate herself, her family, her country and take a bunch of sensitivity class, with head bowed in shame. She should behave exactly like she was fighting for her life facing the Inquisition and say what they want to hear.

Maybe she should say that a priest came over to her home and exorcised her demons. She is now cleansed.

A Culture War Battle Trump Can Win

“Do we wish to see statues of presidents from Washington, Jefferson, Jackson, Lincoln and Grant to Teddy Roosevelt trashed by mobs that hate America, hate her heroes and hate her history?

Trump’s stand for tradition and against mob rule is the only stand the president can take. And it is a necessary stand. For this culture war is going to last long after this presidency. And it is going to determine what kind of country we shall become.

Will it be the great and glorious republic of the past or the social and cultural Marxist hellhole that is the promise of the mobs?

Trump just played the patriotism card, the correct card to play, and it may just work for his reelection.“

re: America’s dumbeth and George Washington,

‘A monument for the world’

“Under the dark of night, in neighboring Mexico, a politically charged crowd toppled a more than 20-foot tall bronze statue of Washington, then paraded it through the streets by dragging it behind several cars. This 1914 evening in Mexico City, is the first known time a statue of America's first president was toppled. It came down not because he was a slave owner, but because he symbolized America amid mounting diplomatic tension.

It took 108 years for a domestic performance. But now that tensions are heated and the purpose of monuments is being debated, one angle has not been addressed: Washington’s importance beyond our borders.

The world has regarded, celebrated and memorialized George Washington as a symbol for ideals such as liberty, freedom and Republicanism. Since the American Revolution, Washington has stood for something beyond himself and his deep flaws — he is a symbol for America and the world.

Washington’s commemoration has been since the 18th century.

At a 1912 celebration of Mexican independence and unveiling of Mexico City’s Washington statue, Mexican President Francisco Madero heralded Washington and said that his “work should never be restricted to the confines of one nation, but should be extended throughout the world to benefit all nations and peoples.”

The first monument of Washington was erected in a country estate just outside of Dublin, Ireland. In 1778, only three years after the start of the American Revolution, Irish politician Edward Newenham constructed a 30-foot brick tower dedicated to the American general he regarded as “the Greatest ornament of this century.”

Washington has been commemorated or had streets, parks and towns named after him on every continent (including Antarctica), with monuments scattered around the globe. Are these testaments to slavery and white supremacy?”
